Gosh, is this really only my second winter piece this season?? Yikes… And I claim to love this season ;~;
Ik winter’s not over yet, but it’s that time of year where I go on my (planned ^^;;;) break, this piece being my send off (…potentially… I’ll try and see if I can manage a sketch by tonight, but if not, this is it for now). I’ll still be here since it’s a month-long break focused mostly on my iPad (I mean, I can’t stay off it completely, but I’ll try to do as much as I can, eheh. This also means I might post a traditional sketch or two. Maybe, maybe not. But no digital works, that’s for sure). I’d say I’d just be more infrequent, but, like… I’ve already been rather infrequent lately, too…
Fun fact: This was actually intended to be an autumn piece, but then my art rut happened. So I decided to update it into a winter piece. Took a lot longer than I intended to, but I’m still recovering from that rut… only for me to take another break from art now 🙃 Ah, well. C’est la vie.

ramadan series: the last 10 nights (laylatul qadr)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the last 10 days of ramadan are among us in which one of the odd nights will be Laylatul Qadr - "the night of destiny is better than a thousand months" (97:4)
it is important to maximise as much of these nights as possible as: 1000 months = 83 years 1 hour is better than 9.8 years 1 minute is better than 58 days 1 second is better than 23 hours, subhanallah.
here are some tips on how to maximise Laylatul Qadr:
pray voluntary prayers every night pray taraweeh and tahajjud every night. do not just pray on the odd nights, try and pray on all of the 10 nights to reap the full rewards
recite this du'a: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul afwa, fa'fu anni (O Allah, You are forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me) (narrated by Aisha RA - Sunan Ibn Majah 3850)
prepare a list of du'as you intend to make sometimes we can forget to make specific du'as when it is time to pray so having a list that you can look at before each prayer can help
give charity and recite the Qur'an every night good deeds are rewarded as though you have done it for 83 years
wake up your family the Holy Prophet ﷺ would make sure that his family is awake to participate to reap the rewards too - follow the sunnah
limit distractions get off of social media/tv/games etc and make use of the night. we do not know if we will make it to the next ramadan so maximise these 10 nights to the best of your ability and remain in worship.
dhikr and du'as outside of prayers remain in the remembrance of Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ even when your prayers and voluntary prayers are done to please Him. recite istighfar and send blessings upon the Holy Prophet ﷺ too.

polnareff trying to ask avdol how ramadan works and he's confused by the whole "fasting during daylight hours" thing and he's like "ok but what if you were at the north pole where it's daytime for 24 hours" or "what if you were on a space station with no proper night and day" and other theoretical questions that complicate the definition of "during daytime"
Tumblr media
“While yes we fast when the sun is up only, it does vary, if its daytime 24 hours then you will follow the time on the clock that you have set, or follow the closest country/timezone that DOES have a sunrise and sunset, these things aren’t too strict as long as you still follow the rules of fasting in general, if it has to be bent in this way it’s not a bad thing and it’s fine! If you are in space, follow the time of which you had left earth from, the time of launch, etc. Fasting isn’t as strict as you think, it’s more symbolic than anything, so you don’t have to follow the rules of ‘sunset or sunrise’ like its gonna bite you! Just follow the clock with what feels right but make sure it still follows the same set of rules you understand what i mean? I hope this clears it up!”

Cannot stress how much I adore early morning study sessions on rainy days. A staccato of raindrops against my floor to ceiling bedroom window, scattered biochem and physics notes, that heady petrichor floating in, birdsong in the distance, my desk bathed in watery light. I am literally nothing more than a lone figure in a live Polaroid. Never take me out of this moment

i just prayed for the first time in,, possibly years, and im emotional about it so :
reminder that your prayer, your dua, your fasting, any acts of worship, do not need to be perfect. do not be afraid to just do what you can even if its incomplete, even if its not 100% right
you can improve over time but,, even if you dont ? one completed prayer is still better than missing all of them, doing prayer without a hijab is still better than not praying at all, doing dua in a language other than arabic
your effort is worth it, no matter what

Still a WIP 'cause I really need to sleep but here's that Gohan and Piccolo drawing so far :D
Still planning some colouring and might need to fix Piccolo's hand  but throwing it here for now 'cause I'll be greatly reducing my drawing this month of Ramadan :3
Also I looked up literally only 1 reference of the lookout so if the entrance is wrong (and I'm like 90% sure it is)...suck it up :P Let's pretend this is at the back or sides or something idk
