Wanted to try my hand at drawing the crater crew with casual clothes cuz I wanted to try to see what their personal styles would be

Juliana has this more preppy cute style for me, because I saw a lot of people going about how she looks like a good ol nerd and I said "they're so right" but I also gave her the LITTLELEST bit of a coquette influence because I gave her some bows on my redesign of her (this is based on that redesign ofc) and I can tell you, as a small person, every single one of us loves a big jacket. Loves an oversized sweater where we can just pull our hands back and go flopflopflopflop so Juliana, who is shorter than PENNY would absolutely love clothes that are def not her size

Arven gives me the vibes that he's more of a sweater and button up shirt type of guy. Kinda business casual tbh because I can imagine he'd want to be taken more seriously. He probably just buys whatever is cheap and looks okay enough without caring much for style. Although I can see him not knowing his size very well and not knowing how to adjust his suspenders so he keeps them down because otherwise they're too tight on his shoulders. He figured they looked slightly fashionable and kept them that way.

Penny lives at hot topic and buys nerdy shit, she's cringe, she's free, whatever

Nemona really struck me as a sporty type, prioritizing easy movement above all. How else is she supposed to run after someone to demand a battle otherwise? She def tries to at least match her clothes to her arm brace thing. Otherwise it sticks out a lot and she doesn't want other people to focus on that, they need to focus on her asking them to FIGHT

Miraculous Ladybug, Marinette Dupain-Cheng Drawings

I drew a lot of Marinette Dupain-Cheng from Miraculous Ladybug. I have the same love hate relationship with this show that most of the active fandom has. I may repurpose the time lapse from this drawing to use as visual while I rant about it and turn that into a YouTube video.

This is technically a redesign of Marinette, except I mostly like her canon design, so it’s actually just putting her in a bunch of different outfits to fit the occasion.

I started by tracing a picture of her and starting to adapt it to my style, thence freeform drawing her canon design in my style, then went from there.

Imagined context for each one:

Canonette Trace: Marinette at a regular school day.

Canonette Freeform: Marinette attempting to greet Adrien like a normal human being and mostly succeeding.

Girlboss Marinette: She had a big presentation that she wanted to look professional for.

Bakinette: It’s 2 a.m. and she’s making brownies for some reason.

Dancinette: She’s ballet dancing alone in her room, cuz she’s not confident enough to dance in any public capacity.

Grouchinette: She hasn’t slept in 3 days and someone just asked her a really dumb question.

Fashionette: Showcasing her newest design

Pridenette: It’s a pride parade and she’s having a little too much fun.

Hello internet, I still do art

No one on here probably cares, (eh, I could be wrong) but I’ve been developing that Funkin’ With You AU I made like, a year ago, maybe? 2 years ago? I forgot. I made the decision that it’s split into two sections, Week 1 to 7 (until Week 8 comes out….then again with what I did with Week 3 and writing Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest may change that week’s story if we…ever find out the story) and Mods, even though Sky appeared in Chapter 1 of the written version.

I’ve been calling this the “adaptation AU” because I’ve been trying to get their stories close to the OG while also being writing it somewhat different, as this is supposed to be an “adaptation”. And as such, I have the urge to give them a bit of a design change (except Soft Pico but that’s because I didn’t have it in me to fully change his design) so it doesn’t feel like I slapped them into the story. I’ve been making a habit of actually drawing them and not having them be sprite edits, so I have a bit more freedom with how I design them.

I just wanted to show everyone these because I’ve been showing most of my art in my Discord server and haven’t been talking with anyone outside of that unless it’s for posting videos on YT.

WANTED: Inkwell

Rising from the Villainous dimension, please give a warm welcome to Inkwell!

By technical definition, Inkwell would probably classify as an “Anti-Hero”; her shtick’s that she usually just stumbles on battles and assists whoever she thinks is in the right. However, she also has her job at Black Hat Org. See, the company needed a proper advertising manager. Inkwell saw an ad for the position, and in standard Black Hat fashion the ad was possessed; the thing basically forced her to apply, and what’dya know she got the job! Her role is supposed to be editing videos and designing promotional art, but she also joins the main trio in their missions! She also often gets asked to draw portraits of the others (mainly Black Hat and Flug), and Flug sometimes snatches her to help with inventions. Maybe she’ll spout randomly good ideas for creations, but at the least she can turn blueprints into 3D models by messing with their ink.

She’s supposed to be a reference to different golden eras for cartoons; think of a similar vibe to Spinel from Steven Universe! She can give herself rubberhose biology and Looney Tunes physics if she wanted, and she also loves making references/disses to Disney; the pure reason these haven’t shut down the org. is because Black Hat is also incredibly rich (and scary! Thanks boss!). I also have this very specific gag for her where she removes the digital inking of an episode, reducing the animation to sketches. Why would she do this? Because she is me and I think it’d be funny.

POWERS: Ink Manipulation/Generation (and by extension Mentifery), Color Manipulation, Teleportation, Body Morphing (she can turn herself into a puddle of ink).

This is one of those VERY RARE times when she doesn’t just keep her Imagination for her abilities (what’s Imagination? Read here to find out!). It really is the same shtick though; she just made her mentifery manifest in an inky form and traded away the ability for certain things to spawn as soon as she thought of them. Instead, she has to draw them out!

While he liked to plan and execute said plan perfectly, you were reckless and went into anything head-first with worrying about the possible failures later.

GEPARD, the Silvermane guards leader, falling for his sisters co-performer.

He LOVED to watch you perform or practice, Serval always saw him with such a love-struck smile, head resting on his hand as he sat and watched his sisters and you practice. She'd tease him about it afterwards, calling him loverboy and such, but he never confirmed nor denied her teasing about him liking you.

Sometimes the guards would hear him humming your part of a song or the general tune of a melody you play, considering how much he watched you, it was no surprise that you were stuck in his head like a popular song.

He quite literally, loved you like a love song, because it's ALL he ever listened to. He'd be in bed, white shirts and shorts, his arm covering his eyes as he listens to the CORNIEST love song and smiles while doing so because he thinks of you.

When you two started dating, he was quick to realize your differences. He was a leader, an intimidating figure, and had goals and missions he swore on his life to constantly follow and pursue even outside of work hours.

You on the other hand, unless you're onstage, you're pretty shy. Not really standing out in a crowd when you're in your civilian clothing, and you liked it that way. Almost like you lived a different life from your almost idol-like persona.

Gepard did find it incredibly cute though, how you'd have an explosive personality infront of a crowd. But with him? You were at the mercy of his soft kisses and his chuckles as your face turns warm from fluster.

SAMPO was the COMMON ENEMY between the Overworld and Underworld.

Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration. But YOU?? Natasha's sweetest nurse and sibling?? with the likes of HIM??

He was a liar, seemingly the type to decieve people who put their trust in him, only to repay them randomly out of nowhere with random treasure maps or save them from tight situations. It seemed like any suspicious activity was ALWAYS tied to him.

You, on the other hand, worked with your sister in her clinic. Often times praised for your kindness and patience, how amazing you were with children and people in general. Nobody would've expected that you fell for him, hell, he didn't expect it either.

But you saw that somewhere, in that heart of his, he truly did care about his friends and loved ones. Somewhere buried in his rather annoying antics, were the intentions of someone who was just worried for the others well-being. He proved it to you when he caught you crying in a dark alley, wiping your tears as you were so tired and overworked. He listened to you for hours on end, and he got to see a side of you that you didn't show to people, and vice versa. You saw the side of him people thought they'd die to see exist.

WELT YANG was always rather serious at times, with his status and achievements, people expected it of him.

You were his closest companion, one of the few he had left from his journey, but you were also his partner. Despite being just about his age, you were so calm, so gentle. Compared to his seemingly stern nature.

You loved plants and flowers of the such, always telling Welt about the newest one you learnt from a new planet on each expedition through the galaxy. You warmed his heart with how you spoke, explaining each and every plant with such detail. He loved it whenever you spoke, 'music to his ears', he'd tell people. Anyone would be enamoured with your voice and way of speaking, he admired your intelligence, but more importantly, he admired you.

BLADE.. with Kafka's partner in crime?

Kafka can't say she's surprised, hell, she'd love you too. But the pairing was rather odd.

Blade was monotone, cold. His stare as sharp as daggers, and could care less about those he hurt.

You, on the other hand, found immense joy in hurting others. A wicked smile on your face whenever you're permitted to do so towards anyone who dare stand in their way.

Whenever you two would kiss, the difference once again shows. You're clearly enjoying it, but Blade's expression is blank. But I guess don't judge a book by its cover? As the kiss he initiated is passionate and intimate, he's enjoying it I promise, he just doesn't show it.

Either way, you're both stuck babysitting Silverwolf most of the time. Oh well, more time with him.

Hobie's New Design is Bad.

Incredibly bad. Like 'leave it in the drafts homie' bad. Fuck it, I'm about to start using words I ain't even know I knew - this shit is EGREGIOUS.

It ain't cute.

It's bad. It's ugly, bro. His hair is serving Coral Reef And I'm tired of pretending it's not.

And it feels SO subtly anti-black.

For one I feel like they're stripping Hobie's black features. Or toning them down a LOT.

Even if we aren't counting the blue eyes they gave in him in Issue One.

Now, over time Hobie's looked many different ways - but throughout his runs his features were 100% supposed to be interpreted as black.

And while his newer comic runs tone that down a bit, it still looks natural.

And his hair has ALWAYS been natural. So much so that it's one of the defining features of movie Hobie as well.

This.... Isn't that. Not only has his natural hair been shaved and died, but it was done into a style made to DIRECTLY ripoff an already popular WHITE character - Gwen Stacy.

And once again, BLUE EYES???

And it's so bizarre!!!! Cause his design hasn't changed, but it REALLY HAS!! LIKE LOOK-

This is supposed to be the same guy, making the same expression. This is not the same fucking guy.

They have the same brow shape and lip shape and nose, but that's not the same fucking guy and I can't articulate why.

Looking at his profile highlights this way more, especially when putting him next to Movie Hobie.

Notice how ALL of Comic!Hobie's features are RAZOR sharp?

Whereas, Movie!Hobie's features, his features are actually fairly soft.

His nose and lips are curved and soft - even his pronounced brow bone is still curved, DESPITE him having a sharper face shape than Comic!Hobie.

That's because Movie Hobie has Black People Features.

Comic Hobie DOESN'T.

I wish I was joking when I say -

I feel like they're genuinely using Johnny Storms model and coloring it brown.

It's just... too bad not too be.

This redesign is atrocious. It's worse than the Attack on Titan manga.

And from what we can tell - this is a HOBIE SPECIFIC problem. Riri Williams - IronHeart - looks FINE.

Not to be dramatic, but this is very much a disappointment. It's honestly impressive how they managed to fumble the design bag SO EASILY.

Marvel Comics only leases Hobie Brown character to Sony. Hobie is still their IP - they can plunder his SONY design as much as they like, so long as it looks reasonably Not Identical.

And still they decided to do a 180, tone down his black features, unnatural his hair, and give him blue eyes.

Marvel. Pack it up. You're chopped.

A vaporeon study

Vaporeon is one of my favorite Pokémon. my first introduction to it was in pokemon red, where it looked like this:

So in my head, vaporeon looked like this:

It was also somewhat like this in the card game too:

with the neck frill and tail looking like soft goldfish fins, with a long snout, very elegant.

But the game's graphics evolved and Vaporeon changed to look more like the Ken Sugimori art. And eventually making the transition to 3D.

None of these redesigns are bad... but... the ear fins... oh the ear fins...

in the original sprite art, they actually looked like ears. and all my life I've been representing them in my art like this:

very pleasing to my eyes, but the reality is, they have never been represented to be like this in the games. That's fine, but what gen 6 did to its 3D model, to me, is murder!

Look at its ear!

Not only is it just a polygon with a flat texture hanging like a flag, if it wanted to represent an ear, it should have been facing the other way!!! like so:

It shouldn't, but this design "flaw" bothers me a lot!

and if we're talking about design, the neck frill looks a lot more like a firm fin now and not as soft, so it really should look like this instead:

It's a water creature, it needs to be hydrodynamic!

IDK folks, this is just my silly opinion. Feel free to agree or disagree with me but I'd love to know if it's just me who is bothered by this.

Y'know, I know Classic Poultry-man was the most popular in the fandom, but I really have a soft spot for his edgy 90s design when the creative team suddenly decided to go really dark with his stories. And I'm also a huge fan of the 2010s redesign he was able to get on the modern comics after years of no publication.
