Jealous Blake breakdown lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yang makes a comment about diana and blake realizes yang has eyes for the first time since meeting her because yang has always been eyes on her since day 1 and blake is not used to it lmao. “AAND??” she’s pissed lmao and i was on the floor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yang proposes to bring diana to atlas and blake is immediately like I’M COMING WITH YOU and laughs nervously. the funniest part if that 3 seconds apart ren does the exact same thing when victor says he wants to go kill grimm with nora, so like for those wondering, yes, this was 100% intended as jealousy lmao also jealous renora and jealous bumbleby parallels all over this movie, i lived
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in the airship blake brings up how much her relationship with yang improved an awful lot like im sorry but she’s marking the territory lmaoooo no seriously maybe she wasn’t doing it on purpose but she was all over this out of the blue so im taking it as subconsciously wanting to draw the boundary lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
finally after all the talk they had with diana, blake asks yang to open the airship so she and diana can fight the grimm and yang is uncertain about it obviously, so blake takes the opportunity looks at diana then back at yang and goes “well, you HEARD DIANA, we’re warriors” in the most mocking tone like sorry she’s like, you wanna see strong women there you go bitch lmao i can play this game too. and she goes fight the grimm like she’s definitely not showing off lmao. I’m utterly obsessed with the subtle roast im sorry but this woman is territorial it drives me nuts lmao
overally im glad it wasn’t like....exagerated or bordering unhealthy, which could have been a worry of mine. it was just very cute and played as a joke and it got resolved immediately, by the middle of the movie they all forgot about it and actually i got the vibe that both blake and yang were both a little into diana lol. renora’s jealousy arc was uhm nasty, for comparison, like they actually almost fought about it but that’s probably because the movie is set during v7 and i mean you can see that renoras are not doing well, plus victor was purposely causing the drama while diana was not. you can tell both the bees end up being fond of diana’s friendship!! and they also have some sweet talks all three of them soooo. yeah, it was very lovely!!

Yet More Objectively Correct RWBY Ships: Everyone But RWBY
Arkos: controversial take, but this one only tugs people's heartstrings because half the ship is dead. Without Pyrrha's tragic death early in the series, Arkos would be very cringe.
Renora: I thought this was pretty bland but inevitable until I challenged myself to write it and make it interesting. Injecting drama and conflict into their relationship right out of the gate adds so much to this.
Rainbow Quartz: Be Gay, Do Crime! Ilia & Emerald are the premier non-RWBY ship, two girls who aren't really bad at heart but whose lives put them on a bad path, and who've had their affections spurned by more prominent characters, struggle to find redemption and love together. I love the idea of them on a special ops team together.
Hellebore: my other S-tier non-RWBY ship. Winter and May, two damaged women struggling to move on from their abusive families, carving their paths in opposite directions while still finding their way into each other's arms (and, who wouldn't want Winter Schnee?)
CinWin: A close second for Winter ships. Fire and ice. Temperature Play says it all. Cinder and Winter, both hurt, polar opposites who compliment each other perfectly.
SpiceCream: Villainnesses with heart, Neo's playfullness is a delightful compliment to Cinder's glower and angst. They're enemies with benefits, as demonstrated in Melting Glace, one of my favorite fics.
Crosshares: Duh. Although, I will say that the chibi dynamic of bashful, timid Velvet and cocky, confident Coco doesn't do a ton for me. I think there's some cynicism and bite to Velvet that deserves more exploration.
KnightLight: we are stealing Jessica Cruz from DC, plain and simple. She and Jaune compliment each other perfectly and are adorable beyond belief.

Team JNPR is underrated.
Let me be clear. Jaune isn't underrated, he's overrated. Arkos isn't underrated, it's overrated. Renora isn't underrated, it's overrated. JNR after volume six? Tbh overrated, their dynamic got not super great as soon as Jaune got buff and started being written as fearless while Nora and Ren had completely unnecessary relationship drama that wasn't worked through well.
But Team JNPR? So underrated. They are so funny, they work together so well, they could've gotten so far, they make me want to write an alternate universe where both Jaune and Pyrrha lived.

I don't think I agree with this.
I think there's a difference between spontaneity and nonconsent. If you sniped every kissing scene in fiction where one party suddenly kissed the other without warning, we'd be missing huge chunks of literature and cinema. The framing of the scene is definitely more about surprise and initiative than Ren not being into it, that much is clear from the way the kiss is set up against something positive (the expected win of Robyn Hill in the election, complete with countdown), and the epic music, the lighting, and the way Ren holds Nora and kisses her back. Nora didn't hold him in place and make him do that, he chose to do it.
Tumblr media
Well, yeah. It was only in Volume 7 that people started working on that whole "Ren and Nora stitched together at the hip" deal and started giving them actual differences that went deeper than surface-level. This was one of the better aspects of Volume 7; they're divided by their approaches and what they prioritize. Ren takes up Ironwood's orders faithfully because he believes in a plan that can stop Salem for good, while Nora digs her heels in and fights Ironwood's approaches because they're putting undue strain on Mantle. Nora's background in poverty and her life being saved by Ren put her closer to the plight of the impoverished citizenry of Mantle, while Ren's experiences with the Grimm drive him to free Remnant from their control. Neither one is wrong, but they still get to be different.
Miles and Kerry clearly try their own version of bandaging that problem in Volume 8, but it doesn't work because they don't know who Nora should be, so by the end of it, Nora just tells Ren "we can't be together because I'm working myself out". Great job acknowledging the problem, maybe work the solution out before putting the volume out to air.
Also, Ren did get that luxury. Most of the Volume 4 backstory dump featuring Kuroyuri and the Nuckelavee were tilted towards him, with relatively little of it left for Nora.
I think you're overestimating how much Rooster Teeth was willing to invest in Renora. Renora has always been a much-beloved ship in the fandom and its shippers very active and appreciative, but they're also relatively passive. Renora shippers never had to go through any sort of ship drama or plot aches before Volume 7, so Rooster Teeth had no reason to try and appeal specifically to them. The Bumbleby bait is definitely the hook with the worm on it for the shippers, not Renora.
If you've been turned off of Renora and now dislike it, do so because their story will basically never get resolved, because it was never a priority of Miles' and Kerry's, and they managed to torch the show to ashes and get it all but definitively canceled without at least letting them be happy.

Note
I feel like the whole thing with Bumblebee is going to end up being substantially softer and less dramatic than it's being hyped up to be.
Like, contrast the tragic Arkos and the dramatic and then subverted by Tyrian and then addressed later softly Renora, that romantic moments in RWBY that tend to go better (or at least don't go to hell afterwards) end up being a lot more understated than we expect, at least in relation to the expectations of media.
I don't think the Bees getting together will be dramatic at all. Their drama is behind them.
They're almost there, Blake knows for certain where her heart is and Yang isn't oblivious to it, so it's unlikely to be some dramatic confession but more them admitting to their mutual feelings.
I agree. When it happens it's going to be very soft, gentle and sweet.

It’s food fight time. Best Day Ever...it’s probably the gayest one yet...
The Episode starts with a few minutes of partners bonding. Blake reads smut until Yang badgers her to play a game with her, and Ruby and Weiss both write letters to their family. Weiss’s letter to Winter talks about how Ruby is gonna be a great leader and saved her. Her smile when she writes about Ruby is very...telling. Also very clearly her answer to Ruby in the dream was that yes that can be friends (and eventually girlfriends WR for life)
Tumblr media
There’s some interpartner bonding, ie Blake and Weiss which is nice to see when Weiss insists that she cares, that they all care about Blake and that she needs to come to her team when she needs help.
She and Blake shake hands and Yang instantly is like ok moving on, which I respect the territory patrolling (i jest).
Blake meanwhile forces Yang to read her books. Not sure if it’s the smut series or not but that’s funnier to imagine so I’m going with that.
And we get ANOTHER WR coffee scene. The scene so nice we see it thrice. Although this time it’s Weiss making coffee for Ruby and she remembers how her dolt takes it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are both blushing messes which is so adorable it’s hard to put into words as Awake plays in the background.
Tumblr media
Shion talks about how her semblance evolves and how Nightmares are attracted to those with strong personalities. Yang continuing her reason for being annoys Weiss with this who managed patented Schnee look 12 of suffering at her.
Nora then dumps on Jaune which is incredible. (He doesn’t have a semblance lol)
Then Renora and WR mess around while BB and Arkos do the same and Ozpin is mysterious and asks to speak with Ruby and Blake separately.
Ozpin tries to hint at Silver Eyes and Ruby is like “lol can’t remember but friendship is great” (seriously).
The lighting in the scene is a good reflection into Ozpin’s mind, and the current state of Beacon. Ie as Ruby can’t recall the eyes she’s not in so much danger and so Ozpin leans back into the light instead of being shrouded in the darkness.
The scene lighting continues to be great during Blake’s talk which is really Ozpins way of showing he knows exactly who Blake is, what she did, and came from and being slightly smug about it.
Tumblr media
When he mentions her heritage and past Blake who is ashamed of it is bathed in darkness but then goes back to light. Ozpin then lays his cards, or some of them on the table and really ramps up the interrogation and essentially all but says he knows more than she’s saying and gives her a chance to talk. Blake being Blake doesn’t.
And again he’s in the Gendo pose in the dark as he does this. Once the moment passes he’s back to being the affable headmaster in the light.
We get more monochrome bonding as Weiss waited for Blake so she wouldn’t be alone afterward and they have a really great talk about helping make the world a better place with the help of each other and their team.
Tumblr media
Weiss is...more of a drama queen than I remember but canon adjacent and all that. We get some sisterly teasing which is cute.
Sun shows up and is just a great guy. Weiss invites him to hang out and for some reason this confuses Yang, which I honestly don’t get at all, but nothing is perfect.
Sun says he’ll introduce his team to them and that they’re all super hot. Seriously.
Tumblr media
Weiss then remarks on Pyrrha’s interest in Jaune and says she has weird taste lol. Ruby is like “oh no she really does want to be on Pyrrha’s team, and Weiss gets all upset cause she thinks Ruby is. Then Yang suggest they trade Weiss and Ruby says that Weiss can’t ever get back on the team even if she begs. Then they look like they’re about to kiss and Yang seems pretty amused by it before they all start laughing.
Tumblr media
Rwby take a group phot and then we cut to a very...excited Pyrrha helping Jaune train and cheer him on.
Renora remain pure and I love them, and Nora says that Ren is the strongest one of them before they agree to look out for each other and hold hands. Like some sort of cute couple or something.
Tumblr media
We get this scene and Ruby calls her Weiss and Weiss is of course upset she didn’t refer to her as girlfriend or wife but hey she’s learning.
Yang makes a pun so bad literally no one gives her a pity laugh even as she makes it several times until Nora clocks her with an apple, which is the only real response.
Weiss asks if Ruby stole her binder, and Ruby assures her she just added a fun plan to it.
The food fight happens and there’s some interesting stuff going on. WR save each other several times which is cute. We don’t get the don’t leave me scene cause the fight goes differently and no one really loses or “dies”
and ends on this scene:
Tumblr media
It’s a strange ending and a little anticlimactic, but overall it’s pretty gay. The first few minutes are very very gay for WR with some sprinkled in the rest of the episode.

Thinking about a RWBY au where people with unlocked Aura can fuse, SU-style, but typically without developing extra limbs/features, and with the resulting size increase being much smaller. (basically, they briefly break down into glowy Aura-mass and then recombine. Weapons optionally can too, if they're made with materials Aura-conductive enough for the breakdown to work.)
At first this was about cool combined Semblances, and it still kind of is, but now I'm more focused in on the dynamics. And how they'd be kind of a mess, for *spice*.
Renora is fused practically all the time and it's lowkey-highkey unhealthy, mentally speaking. They both clearly hate being unfused and tend to be kinda jumpy and anxious on their own, even though a lot of academic tests and assignments require them to unfuse.
But their friends and teammates are hardly equipped to properly sit them down and call them out on it, because it turns out All of them have a hard time being Normal About Fusing in some way
Each fusion can use their Semblances separately or combine them, the effects of which may vary in predictability, since each component's effects often kind of " stretch" and take on looser, more metaphorical qualities to smoothly combine.
So, Renora's fused Semblance is "Grimm Jamming", an effect that is not actually electrical anymore, but retains an electrical aesthetic. Rather than cloaking people, it just makes all Grimm in the area of effect unable to sense anyone for a while, with the major upshot being that it can simply be used once rather than needing to be a sustained effort.
When the effect is concentrated enough, it's also able to cause pain and disorientation to Grimm.
"Jyrrha"/sometimes jokingly called "Prawn" is barely any better once it happens for the first time, because Pyrrha's lonely and easily addicted to the feeling of the mental bond kinda speedrunning a deep companionship and no-strings-attached acceptance, while Jaune's addicted to the confidence and composure.
Of course, at first they just have souped-up Polarity, but if Pyrrha were to survive, they'd get "Aurakinesis".
The ability to push and pull Aura.
Its only balances are their moral code and their inexperience with it, because in theory, it's just as busted as it sounds.
Ruby likes fusing with Yang a Little Too Much, and their resultant fusion tends to be a little TOO reckless and energetic, especially because it also gets *even faster* upon taking damage.
Yang is kinda self aware about it and kinda tries to avoid it, but on the other hand, it's hard to resist the simple fact that it's also just plain fun as hell for her.
Blake is always reluctant to fuse and has trouble determining the line between "excessive paranoia" and "reasonable caution and skepticism". Followed by the reveal that she also used to be kind of addicted to being fused with Adam, before the Drama, which is then followed by Yang fusion kind of just re-enabling her repressed addiction with a new outlet. (And Yang ALSO becomes Less Normal about fusing once this is something they consistently do)
Weiss spends a good while at first being insufferably pushy with anyone she fuses with, and then blaming the resultant shitty experience on them, but also all while transparently thirsting big time over the desire to fuse with Pyrrha.

Hey, its me again. I brought this blog back up, due to drama I got into with another blog who I shall remain nameless and I blocked along with their associate as soon as I brought this blog back up(which I'm not sure if that was a good choice) I kinda thought what you said and I feel like I didn't articulate what I meant in terms of adversity and struggle
My point by using Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was that yes, the characters had adversity and struggle, but it didn't killed off the couples(then again, you could argue Hughes and his wife) along with Star Wars(of course there's Anakin and Padme and Satine), they faced these things together and *lived* instead, and I felt that should have been Arkos, Black Sun, Iceberg, and Renora(not without addressing the problems with said ships of course) along with Oscar making it and a few smaller supporting characters. I gotta get Saints of Remnant up and running, need a good Tumblr theme for it maybe.
It's not that I don't want it all fluffy and no adversity, raised stakes, or struggle or consequences, I just don't go about it like that. And you do not have to agree with this approach or my concepts, you do not have to at all.
I just feel like is such aforementioned necessary qualities we keep defining by our own personal standards along with what concepts can or cannot be and what directions they can and cannot go, which is fine as long as we are honest about it.
But now we pressure that onto others and assume the worst when they don't comply.
Not saying you are, but I feel like to say "those who don't like Pyrrha and Arkos ending tragically want it to be a super fluffy" is kinda of a leap, that's what it sounds like to me. And I apologize if I misunderstood that.
I gotta be honest, I don't really remember this conversation. So anything that I could say could be wildly off the mark for the conversation previous. So I'll just go off on a ramble.
But if we're talking about conflict in relationship, then by definition a relationship without conflict or adversity is fluffy. You can want and like Arkos as a ship, but the reality is that Pyrrha's death was necessary for the plot, as stupid as the plot may or may not have been as it gave Ruby motivation to seek answers. Without Pyrrha dying, Ruby, and subsequently Norra, Jaune and Ren would have no reason to travel across Anima.
There's more to a story than romance, and while you can say there's a certain amount of story potential lost when a character dies, it's equally true when a character lives when they should rightfully have died. There's no sense in keeping a character around when they've fulfilled their narrative purpose and the deaths are more valuable to the structure of the story than their being alive. Ned Stark from Game of Thrones is a brilliant example of this. Sure, had many story possibilities been cut off due to his death? Of course. But the story that can now be told because of his death is so much more interesting than if Ned survived.
Stories where characters survive canon deaths usually are relegated to fanfiction for a reason. Not that their stories are less valuable as being told, but that fanfiction itself has no limitations, no expectation or even standards of quality. Fanfiction can be whatever it needs to be because there's no expectation that it needs to be anything greater than what it is (and what fanfiction is ranges from expertly told epics spanning tens of thousands of pages to the keyboard mash of an intellectually savant five year old). In fanfiction people can explore those alternate stories, but more often than not those will end up being fluff pieces that don't narratively go anywhere or otherwise struggle to get the characters into the plot in a natural way other than the plot dictates for it to happen. RWBY has a lot of writing issues, and does this writing faux pas I've just mentioned, but in this instance, it is good writing. Not because a character died, but because of logical stakes and follow through to get the main characters where they need to be in the plot.

Rant below the cut:
Just a reminder: Bees are officially canon, the crew hasn’t been shy or withholding on the fact that its a thing and they love it. Doesn’t matter if there is or isn’t a huge merch line for them or tweets for them. First was the “if they don’t become canon by x then its bait and grab the pitchforks”; now its become “if they don’t do merch or tweets about it then grab the pitchforks”, under the misguided view that RWBY is a shoujo-ai/yuri type series thus is going to do some massive spotlight on BB that involves resources being specifically put to it. This is the exact sort of thing I mean by “shooting themselves in the foot”, because guarantee you that BS’ers wouldn’t be doing the same thing and instead would be relishing in it being canon. Which is for a while BB’ers were doing but now its shifting towards the usual self-sabotage.
Let’s dive into what doing a big showing, tweet, or merch-line does:
- Stirs up drama
- Pulls in harassment towards the crew and supporters of it. I’ve seen people going after Arryn and Barb already over their daring to celebrate BB. Vile and disgusting ass comments about them personally, borderline slander at times. Hell even Lindsay had the one person calling them a bad wife cause they dared be part of the fun of Barb and Arryn’s ship-captaining.
- For the twitter side specifically: Twitter has devolved further into a toxic cesspit that enables homophobia and punishes pro-LGBT+ things and people. Many of the RT crew have mentioned lessening their interactions on it.
- Requires artists specifically for a RWBY line instead of a general Pride line (”hire more artists”, you going to restructure the finances to make room for that? Or going to let Michelle go in order to make room for a different artist to specifically do a BB line?)
- Gives antis things to point to for “its not about what fits the story, just about the money”. Which was already something done when the first hoodies and shirts were announced.
- Doesn’t make huge sense for a series that is in a limbo till whoever gives the official greenlight for v10
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter, I don’t need to think RT higher-ups care or don’t; the crew cares and put in the work on the show to more than deliver an official LGBT+ pair that will continue going forward as exactly that. RWBY isn’t a shoujo-ai/yuri, it isn’t aimed at specifically an LGBT+ audience, and instead is aimed at a general audience seeking to tell its story. On top of that its not like there’s a huge history of RT putting out ship-merch, I’d wager they actively avoid doing it; cause Renora has nada and Arkos has nada.
This is just like with Warrior Nun, I absolutely definitely do NOT at all need Netflix’s acting like they give a shit (they couldn’t even be bothered to put WN in with their Pride category even though it has a main wlw pairing); all I need is to see the crew for it showing their love for the show and for Avatrice. All I need a Netflix, WB, CR, Disney, or whoever to do is to keep hitting the greenlight button and putting out shows with LGBT+ in them. I don’t expect them to fight in culture wars.
With all this said, am I disappointed with the lack of BB merch? Totally. Do I see it as some bitch-slap that shows anything about RT’s values? Not even remotely, for the exact reasons I already mentioned. Not to mention if they were that worried about “homophobes”, Arryn, Barb, Lindsay, and others wouldn’t be loudly talking about canon BB; like they are.
ftr this isn’t aimed at one person, but at a general idea that I’ve seen from multiple areas. Like it puts me in a difficult spot, cause no one should have to trudge through the shit of the HTDM/shitdom; but in cases like this I actually waver thinking maybe some should have at least a dose of it to get some perspective. The reality is that again BB IS CANON and will be going forward.

Conversation
Weiss: Ren, you're a good man and all, but I don't think you need to be so dramatic when you're watching Nora.
Ren: I was not being dramatic.
Weiss: Last night when she went to bed you gave a 4 and a half minute speech about how you love her. You even slept on top of the covers next to her and hummed you are my sunshine until she fell asleep.
Ren: She's in a bad way, who knows what might happen!? Any moment could be our last!
Weiss: She spent yesterday relearning how to WALK, Ren, she's not exactly at death's front garden!
Ren: She was...she was worse than she is now?
Weiss: Ren, if I hear another speech I'm gonna make YOU have to learn to walk again.

Renora for the ship thing!
RENORA, B: It’s really cute
I don’t have stronggggg feelings about it, as neither are my favourite characters, but they seem like the type who eventually realise that their close friendship and knowing eachother since childhood has led to something more... it’s canon now isn’t it? At least on the way. V cute and warm feels.

Please let my baby girl rest, she had just gone through a lot, and evidently she didn’t want to leave jaune and the rest out there when she knows she will be able to be a good help but NORA as obedient as always to JAUNE she followed his orders.
And now, do you know how she might be feeling all the regrets in her heart, bruh she is just self pitying earlier and now, she will self hate and pity herself more. I JUST safdsafd ALSO THE FACT THAT
SHE WOULD BE THE ONE, TELLING REN AND OSCAR THAT JAUNE DIDN’T MAKE IT JUST IT HURTS, I ALSO SEE MORE RENORA DRAMA IN FUTURE

Can you imagine if we end up with a fake kiss between the bees? With the way the Ever After is, it wouldn't surprise me if we end up with a bit of fuckery with the bees trying to get them down certain paths.
I'm torn about this. I can see the appeal from a drama perspective but I also want the Bees first kiss to be free of the same fuckery that took place during both Arkos and Renora's first kisses.

i WISH we didn't need an on-screen kiss for two gay characters to be considered canon. i WISH we didn't need them to explicitly say they are a couple for two gay characters to be considered canon. i WISH we could just show them doing romantic stuff and have people understand that that means the two are romantically together, but unfortunately, so much media has skirted around the idea of gay people in the past w/o ever explicitly confirming it (or playing it off as them being best bros) that we NEED a kiss, we NEED explicit confirmation to make sure that these two characters are together, or else we'll feel left in the dark.
I remember when SK8 the Infinity ended, and the two main characters (both male) skated off into the sunrise, people were debating whether or not they were canon. I mean, I personally see them as canon. With this ending, the official wedding art of them, and the drama CD where one plays Cinderella and the other plays Prince Charming, I think they're pretty canon. But, with how badly so many pieces of media have queerbaited their audiences, I don't really blame anyone for thinking they still aren't canon.
I've seen a similar problem with bees shippers, even within their community. Some think Blake and Yang officially became canon after that forehead touch after killing Adam, and some are still waiting for them to become CANON canon with a kiss. Even with Blake and Yang's toxic co-dependency, many fans still see them as non-canon.
Hell, even WITH canon kisses some ships don't get confirmed 😭. I remember when Yuri on Ice came out, and THE KISS happened, and THE RINGS were bought, and one character literally MENTIONED MARRIAGE...and I saw SO MANY FANS STILL HESITANT TO CALL THEM CANON. "The kiss could have been a hug!" "The rings could be friendship rings!" "The marriage thing could be a joke!" I hate that we constantly have to try to jump through these hoops all the time.
Idk where I'm going with this. I guess I just wish we could be a little more vague about LGBT rep instead of having to explicitly say things, because when things are explicitly said (ex.: randomly having a character explicitly say "I'm trans" if their arc isn't focused on their trans identity) it can feel weird and stilted. If a straight couple had official wedding art and a drama CD where they played Cinderella and Prince Charming, everyone would know they were canon. If a straight couple touched foreheads and held hands and acted all lovey-dovey, everyone would know they were canon. If a straight couple kissed and bought rings and talked about marriage, EVERYONE WOULD KNOW THEY WERE CANON. I hate queerbating. Fuck that.
absolutely agree. i wish that we didn’t have to depend on these majority straight writers to do the absolute most to confirm queer characters when non queer relationships can be confirmed with so little; & it’s very much a vicious circle. if we try to break out of it, it can basically feel like we’re rewarding non queer writers for barely acknowledging their queer characters just for some diversity as tokens instead of having them fleshed out like their non queer characters  /  relationships are.
especially if the creators themselves have a disparity between how they treat their queer & non queer characters. take rwby for example; the three non queer relationships were given far more depth & time dedicated to them than the one queer flagship we have. while arkos got three whole volumes of this will they, won’t they exploring the characters feelings & renora had a whole relationship arc complete with confession & kiss, bees have had to be reduced to the same stupid forehead touch for years & years. all while the crew behind rwby have marketed them to hell & back knowing that fans will buy any bees merch, while denying them any explicit on screen representation. the queer representation of rwby has been shoddy at best anyways but the issue of bees & how that has been handled is particularly egregious.
i too wish we didn’t have to beg & rummage for all these scraps to confirm & then still wonder if they truly are canon, if we are truly getting that representation. i hope that with more queer stories being told by queer creators like we have recently, that this can change & we can let go of some of that fear & doubt.
