He’s breathing in. Breathing out. In and out. A steady rhythm. One you shouldn’t disturb. Ricky looked peaceful. He looked happier than ever before. Y/n watched him. She sat up in bed, the moon shining down on them. She would like for him to feel this calm when he was with her. But he never did. He always looked at her that way. With that calmness and ease of love. Full pure love.
It was a surprise to anyone at East high when they made it official. Y/n was a grade under Ricky. Nini just broke up with EJ. Y/n heard rumors; that Ricky only made it official to make Nini jealous. It was a hit in the chest when she noticed it as well. The looks he gave her. The little smile that spread over his face whenever Nini walked into the room. He only looked at her like that when Nini and EJ were still dating. It was all easier back then. She wished she could back to that time.
“What are you thinking about?” Ricky asked her, as he read through his script. The sun was up, Y/n still sat in the exact same position.
If they were so close back then, why couldn’t they in the future as well?
“Nothing,” she answered quietly.
They were at Y/n’s house. Pictures were hanging on the wall. One of them hung there as well. She wanted to gift it to Ricky, but he said he had no space for it. His walls were blank, unless you count the pictures Nini painted for him in kindergarten, or first grade. Or even before summer. He still had them hung up. Y/n used her best colors for it. The expensive ones she got for her birthday a year ago. She was too afraid to use them and not like the picture of it in the end. But she did. She loved it. She loved him. But did he even love her truly?
Y/n stood up. She walked over to Ricky, wrapping her arms around his chest and kissing his shoulder. The boy shrugged her off.
“I have to go to rehearsal.” It was Sunday. She may wasn’t the smartest, but she definitely wasn’t dumb.
“You have rehearsal today?” She asked, her voice sounding suspicious. “But it’s Sunday. You never have rehearsal on Sundays.”
“I - uh. I do, today. Miss Jenn called us all in, because of some problem,” He explained. His eyes moved around the ceiling. He was searching for some explanation. “You probably didn’t notice my phone go off, since you were zoned out over something you won’t tell me.”
“I told you it was nothing,” She argued with him. He would think she was crazy if she told him about what anyone else said. He always did call her crazy when she even mentioned it just in the slightest.
“Whatever,” Ricky scoffed, pressing a fleeting kiss on her cheek. Then he disappeared out of her bedroom. Out of her home.
Y/n waited for the door to shut downstairs until she called Gina. She was the first to tell her about the rumors, the stares, the smiles. She was who comforted her when she was crying now. He didn’t. Not like he used to.
“Gina?” She asked, not letting her friend speak and greet her. “Do you have rehearsal today?”
“Uh, no.” Y/n could already feel Gina rolling her eyes. She knew who it was about.
“OK. Thanks.” Y/n didn’t want to hear her friend lecture her today.
Will you come back to mine after rehearsal?
Ricky didn’t read the message until 2 hours later. He was sat up in Big Red’s room. He would have to go now if he didn’t want to upset her.
“I have to go, Red,” Ricky told his friend, whose face was basically attached to the screen in front of him.
Rehearsal wouldn’t end until an hour later. But he had to do something before dropping by at Y/n’s house.
The door in front of him now seemed bigger than it ever did before. Even when he was a little boy it never seemed so intimidating. The bell was shrill. If he had a more sensitive hearing he would have to cover his ears at the sound. Nini opened the door. She was looking beautiful like always.
“Hey,” The boy smiled at the girl in front of him.
“Hi,” Nini said back, confusion lingered on her face.
“I- uh. I wanted to talk to you real quick.” Ricky fiddled with his fingers. He didn’t know why he was so nervous.
“Sure, what’s up?”
“It just felt right to confess,” Ricky said slowly and quiet. “I never joined the musical because I wanted to. I always just wanted you. And since you’ve broken up with EJ now, I guess I just wanted to ask if we wanted to try again?”
Nini looked at him with wide eyes. “You have a girlfriend if I have to remind you, Richard Bowen.”
“But I don’t love her like I love you.”
“Then tell her that.”
The next second the door was closed in his face. Nini didn’t love him anymore. He didn’t love Y/n. But he guessed he had to tolerate it if he wanted to seem okay.

Attending camp shallow lake wasn’t exactly how you wanted to be spending your summer, but here you are packing all your essentials. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to be spending a few weeks of summer vacation with your best friends and almost too caring boyfriend, it’s just that your anxiety usually got the best of you. As you’re trying your best to fit everything into a small duffle bag that Ricky had let you borrow, your mother gently leaned against the frame of your bedroom door.
“Don’t forget your eyeglass cleaner, I know it bothers you even if it’s just a small smudge.” Your mother laughed while walking forward handing you the eyeglass cleaner and a small cloth.
“Thanks mom.” You said while trying to force a smile onto your face.
“What’s wrong Y/n? I can tell when you’re upset so don’t try to hide it.” Your mother stated as she sat down on your bed and grabbed the teddy bear that always sat on your pillow.
“Just nervous. I don't understand why you’re making me go.” Trying your best to not let the tears that filled your eyes spill down your face.
“Because this will be a good experience for you. Your friends will be by your side the entire time, you know Kourtney will be there for you. She understands how you feel so don’t worry she will take care of you. Besides, isn't Ricky also going to be there?” She was right, you knew that Kourt will always and forever be there for you, that's just the kind of person she is. As you looked back up at your mom she had a smirk on her face as she tightly held the teddy bear Ricky had gotten you a while back. You took the teddy bear from her arms and threw it on the pile of clothes you started folding so you could pack them into the duffle bag.
“No mother would ever be this happy that their daughter is spending a few weeks of summer vacation alone with her boyfriend, not to mention camp is also a few hours away from home.” As you stood up grabbing some more clothes to fold your mother also stood up and pulled you into a hug.
“That’s because I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.” She said trying her best to keep a straight face.
“Okay enough with the mean girls quotes, but sure you're the coolest mom in the world.” You said hugging her back trying your best not to be so anxious about going off to camp.
Finishing up packing wasn’t the easiest trying to fit everything you were taking into that small duffle bag was a challenge however you did succeed without breaking the zipper. You were going to carpool with Kourtney, EJ, Ashlyn, and Carlos since Ricky was helping Big Red at the pizza place and was going to drive Big Red’s car to camp later on tonight. As you waited for EJ’s car to arrive you said your goodbyes to your mother and tried your best to look excited even though deep down you were a nervous wreck. EJ’s car finally pulled into your driveway making your heart skip a beat knowing there's no turning back now, you have no other choice than to attend camp. While throwing your bag in the trunk you hear Gina fighting over who gets to control the music.
“Wait so how are we all supposed to fit?” You laughed while Gina pulled you onto her lap and pushed your glasses up for you.
“Well hello to you too Y/n.” Gina laughed while trying to act as if she was hurt over you not expecting her to be in the car. Of course she wasn’t actually hurt. Gina had become the one friend who gave you the confidence you so desperately needed and the two of you grew closer since you knew she’d never judge you for being yourself. As everyone got settled into the car Gina turned the music back on and ‘Hopelessly Devoted’ from the movie Grease started playing through the loudspeakers and everyone sang along. Gina grabbed your cheeks as you scrunched up your nose as she sang the lyrics ‘But now there’s nowhere to hide’ then Carlos dramatically laid his arm on his forehead and leaned back into you and Gina as he sang the ‘Since you pushed my love aside’ lyric. The whole car ride was full of laughter and singing which made you think maybe camp would be fun. As you guys arrived at camp a girl named Maddox held out a bucket labeled ‘cell phones’ everyone placed their phones into the bucket while talking amongst themselves while you tightly held onto your phone and asked if this was a mandatory type of thing unfortunately it was and everyone had to give up all electronics.
“Camp Shallow Lake has a no electronics allowed policy in place so all campers can enjoy our activities and enjoy the outdoors, it’s only for a couple of weeks you’ll be fine.” Maddox spoke quietly to you as if she noticed how nervous you were. You gently placed your phone into the bucket taking one last look at your lock screen which was just a picture of Ricky holding the teddy bear he gifted you.
Walking towards the girls cabin Kourtney tried her best to make small talk with you as the rest of the girls walked in front of you guys.
“Please at least try to have a little bit of fun, I promise I’m not going anywhere I’ll be by your side the entire time.” She gave you a lighthearted smile and gave you a side hug as you both walked to the door of the cabin.
“Well this is certainly a choice” Kourtney laughed while pointing out every small detail she hated about the cabin.
“Save yourself the time and don’t even step one foot in the bathroom if you think the main room is horrid.” Gina chimed in with a disgusted look on her face while Kourtney covered her mouth with her hand and pretended to gag.
While the girls chatted among themselves you started fixing one of the bottom bunks claiming it as your own. While trying to unpack all the thoughts of having to stay here for a couple of weeks instead of peacefully sleeping in the comfort of your own home filled your brain. Trying to hide your discomfort you told the girls you were going to go for a walk and would be back later on.
“You guys think she’ll be alright and eventually get used to it?” Ashlyn asked worriedly, she had always looked out for you even if you two weren’t the closest of friends.
“I doubt it Y/n has never liked being away from home. It took her months to be able to sleep the entire night at my house when we were younger. She won’t even sleepover at Ricky’s even though Mr. Bowen doesn’t care.” Kourtney explained to the girls while Carlos quietly entered the cabin and joined in on the conversation.
“Y/n doesn’t look like she’s having any fun. I just passed her on the way here and she didn’t even look at me when I asked where she was going.” Carlos told the girls while giving them a sad expression.
“Wait, she really won’t sleep over at Ricky’s house?” Gina asked shockingly.
“Big Red may or may not have told me that Ricky thinks his ADHD and outgoing personality is too much for Y/n to handle.” Ashlyn chimed back into the conversation.
“Are Y/n and Ricky really having problems?” Carlos questioned Kourtney hoping she would spill every single drop of tea.
“Y/n just struggles with really bad anxiety and this is probably the last place she wants to be right now. They aren’t having problems but it just takes Y/n a while to become fully comfortable. Also Ricky has no room to talk because he is constantly getting Y/n in trouble at school for the stupid things he does like skateboarding down the dead silent hallways with Y/n trailing behind him dragging his backpack on the floor trying to get him to stop. Ricky doesnt exactly help Y/n when it comes to her anxiety, he just makes it worse.” Kourtney says with a straight face.
“So you’re confirming that what Ricky told Big Red is correct?” Ashlyn asked Kourtney with a confused look.
“Ricky just needs to realize that Y/n struggles with being in unfamiliar places and becoming close with people. She trusts Ricky, she just needs more time to get comfortable.” Kourtney explained.
Everyone decided to stop questioning Kourtney because she seemed to be done with the conversation and decided to finish unpacking and talk about the activities happening tonight.
“Hey Y/n I’m sorry but you can’t be over here we have to start setting up for the campfire.” EJ stated while giving Y/n a small smile.
“Sorry rocketman.” EJ glared at you.
“Please don’t call me that absolutely nobody knows my camp nickname yet I’m not ready to be made fun of the entire trip.” EJ laughed. “The girls have been looking for you, you should head back and get ready for the campfire.”
“Sorry if I worried anyone, I was just trying to clear my head.” You explained and gave EJ a wave goodbye while you walked back in the direction of the girls cabin.
When you got back to the cabin none of the girls were there so you took the time to try your best to relax and find an outfit to wear to the campfire since it was going to get cold tonight. Time passed and eventually all the girls came back to the cabin with blankets to stay warm next to the campfire. Gina handed you a fluffy light blue blanket and asked if everyone was ready to start heading out. While the girls headed to the campfire Ricky finally arrived and decided to head to the boys cabin to unpack. While Ricky was unpacking in the boys cabin he quickly made friends with a kid named Jet who finally agreed to come to the campfire with Ricky after some convincing. Before heading out Ricky grabbed the candy hearts he bought earlier and quickly made his way to the campfire with Jet.
“Am I late!” Ricky yelled over EJ’s horrible singing.
“You always know how to make an appearance, Bowen.” Carlos shook his head laughing while getting up from his spot next to Y/n so Ricky could take a seat next to you. EJ continued to sing while everyone watched him and made weird faces.
“Hey love” Ricky quietly greeted you while you let him take half of the blanket. You gave him a soft smile not wanting to interrupt EJ again.
You and the girls have been sharing a bag of twizzlers when out of the blue Ricky reaches and grabs one.
“Absolutely not Bowen go get your own.” Kourtney snaps at him. She had never really been fond of Ricky but tolerates him because you love him for some reason. You looked over at Kourtney while taking the twizzler from Ricky and placing it back in the bowl. Carlos seemed to be the only one to notice your obvious discomfort and sadness that Kourt snapped at Ricky for no reason. Instead of fighting with her Ricky shrugged his shoulders and decided it wasn’t worth it to start an argument, he knew Y/n wouldn’t like that.
“Here” Ricky said while handing you a candy heart that had ‘I <3 you’ written on it. You looked up at him and gave him another smile when he started leaning in you turned to lay your head on his shoulder. The rest of the campfire was filled with laughter and happy memories being made. Although you didn’t talk to Kourtney the rest of the time you still enjoyed your time with your other friends. Eventually the campfire ended and since it was getting late everyone decided it was time to head back to the cabins and get ready for bed. Everyone said their goodbyes. You gave Ricky a hug and said goodnight to him and walked back to the girls cabin with Ashlyn while EJ and the rest of the camp directors stayed behind to clean up.
“Are you okay Y/n? Kourt shouldn't have snapped like that.” Ashlyn asked before entering the cabin.
“Yeah I’m alright I know she doesn’t like him it’s okay.” You said back shrugging your shoulders. Ashlyn just nodded and gave you a tight hug before the both of you headed inside the cabin. It was getting late and everyone was tired so you rushed getting ready for bed so the girls could shut the lights and go to sleep. Some time had passed and everyone had already fallen asleep no matter what you could not fall asleep it felt as if your breathing was getting heavier with every passing minute and no matter what you could not get comfortable instead you were tossing and turning every second. Realizing you weren’t going to get any sleep you grabbed one of your hoodies and made your way over towards the boys cabin. You don’t know where the courage came from. Maybe it was because you were tired or because Kourtney made you mad but you twisted the doorknob to the boys cabin and walked in like you owned the place. Of course the boys were still awake. It was only Ricky, Carlos and Jet since EJ was still cleaning up the campground. Ricky quickly jumped from his top bunk and pulled you into a tight hug.
“Hey Y/n are you okay what happened?” Ricky asked, letting go and looking at you.
“I just couldn’t sleep and Kourt isn’t really being the nicest person right now.” You admitted fidgeting with your hands and placing them in the pocket of your hoodie.
“You can stay here, come on take your shoes off.” Ricky said while taking one of the million pillows Carlos brought along with him.
“My pillows are the most comfortable they are made of-” Carlos was quickly cut off by you telling him thank you and Ricky turning the lights off as soon as he knew you made it safely onto the top bunk. Ricky quickly climbed back into bed and gently pulled you closer to him and wrapped his arms around you. Although this was new for you guys to be sleeping in the same bed you felt comfortable and played with the end of his t-shirt while you slowly drifted off to sleep. Unfortunately that didn’t last long because no more than an hour later the lights were being turned on by a very already pissed off EJ.
“Carlos candles are not allowed in the cabins!” He quickly ran over to the candle and blew it out. EJ was taking his new camp job very seriously which everyone found hilarious.
“We were trying to sleep, shut the lights back off it’s late” Ricky said sitting up to face EJ.
“You guys were not sleeping Jet is playing that stupid video game and Carlos has his face misting thing on.” Carlos just rolled his eyes and continued to ignore EJ. As soon as Ricky sat up EJ saw you laying there next to him.
“Y/n get up you’re not allowed to sleep in here.” EJ said with an annoyed look on his face.
“Just go to sleep EJ nobody else cares, it’s not like we are going to do anything.” Ricky replied back.
“No Ricky it doesn’t matter I’m not getting in trouble for letting Y/n sleep in your bed. Come on Y/n get up I’ll walk you back to the girls cabin.” EJ was serious this time and wasn’t in the mood to joke around or let anything slide. Ricky was starting to get angry but before he could start a fight with EJ you started to quietly explain what was going on to EJ. It was hard for you to talk about your struggles with anxiety and explained that earlier in the day when you had talked to EJ because you were sitting where the campfire was being set up you told him it was because you were trying to clear your head and calm yourself down. After some more talking EJ finally agreed to let you stay and apologized for being an asshole. You accepted his apology, you knew he didn’t hate you and that he was just tired and wanted to go to sleep after a long day. Eventually morning came and the bright sun came shining through the windows. EJ was already up and gone getting the day started with the campers while Carlos was just heading out the door to go get some breakfast.
“Good Morning love” Ricky said while pulling you closer to him. He always called you some sort of name but love was always your favorite. You gave him a quick kiss and hugged him tight while he pulled the blanket up further so you were comfortable. However your sweet but short lived moment was only to be interrupted by the one and only Dewey Wood.
“I see not one but two violations in front of me.” Dewey stated while Jet quickly hid his gaming system under his blanket. Following his actions Ricky jokingly covered you with the blanket.
“Jet, why don’t you get up and go get some breakfast.” Dewey recommended and Jet followed his instructions not wanting to get his games taken away.
“Now that it’s just us, let's have a very nice detailed conversation about why this isn’t allowed.” Dewey said while gesturing his hands towards the two of you.
You may have not had the best first night at camp and while yes having ‘the talk’ with none other than Dewey Wood was intriguing yet embarrassing you had one of the best morning’s ever getting to spend time with Ricky brushing your teeth together while dancing to music on EJ’s record player and then getting to eat breakfast together pretending it was like a mini date. Ricky may be a lot to handle sometimes but he truly does take all your worries away and you couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend than Ricky Bowen.

Finally ~ Ricky Bowen X Reader
Summary: Y/n is trying to lose her V card, trying to find the right guys and all. Ricky has been in love with Y/n for a long time. Y/n tries to get with a guy, which fails miserably. Then, Ricky and Y/n meet, and things get heated.
Pairing: Ricky Bowen X fem reader. (Change if u want)
Warnings: Strong language, inappropriate touching, and smut.
Tags: None, I ain't popular, but lmk if u wanna be added.
Notes: K, so, I actually wrote this whole chapter, and Tumblr deleted it. Now I have to rewrite it. Like wtf?
"Are you coming over today?" asked Emma, she and I had been friends since Kindergarten.
"Is it ok if I don't? I'm meeting up with Ethan, and we might get things heated," I said
"All you talk about is Ethan. Ethan, Ethan, Ethan, like he isn't even that good, he's an F-boy, you deserve better. How about Peter? He's cute and single!" said Emma
"Isn't he gay?" I asked
"*Sigh* true. You do you,'' said Emma, going back to her house.
I then thought about it and decided to call Ethan.
I ran his line, and he picked up on the 3rd ring, "Hello?"
"Hey, Ethan!" I said
"Hey... Uhm, who is this?" asked Ethan.
Is he fr?
"Uh, it's Y/n," I said
"Oh... OH! Y/n, hey cutie, how are you?" asked Ethan
"I'm good... How bout you?" I asked
"I'm good. So, uh, what's up?" he asked
"I wanted to say... Wanna hang out today?" I asked
"Uh... Sure, how about in... An hour?" asked Ethan... Sounds fishy...
"Babyyy, come back?" I heard a voice
"Who was that?" I asked
"Oh, that-- That was my mom, she still calls me baby, like omg stop," said Ethan
"Alright. I guess I'll see you soon?" I asked
"Sure. Bye, babe," he said, as he hung up
I'm not letting this slide. That did not sound like his mom. Moms don't moan while saying "baby".
I'm showing up early by 15 minutes, I'm going to see what he's up to.
I mean he said he likes me, like a couple days ago. Who would get mad about the person they like showing up a little early?
~15 Mins Later~
I went to Ethan's house, and knocked on the door. Also rang the doorbell in case he didn't hear.
"I'm coming!" I heard, and smiled
After a few seconds, Ethan opened the door, his expressionless face turned into a shocked face, "Y/n? What are you doing here?"
"I just decided to show up a little early. Why is something wrong?" I asked
"Uh... I'm kind of busy..." said Ethan
"Ethan... Who are you talking to?" I heard a voice say
"That was definitely not your mom. What's going on?" I asked
"Uhh... Y/n, how about you go for today, and we can hang out some other time. Just you and me? Sound good," asked Ethan
I scoffed, shaking my head, "No, what the fuck is this?" I got in the house to see a half naked girl on the couch...
Katelyn??? The school's popular girl?
"Um, who the fuck are you?" asked Katelyn
"I was supposed to be hanging with Ethan today, well, he seems busy," I said
"Y/n, I'm sorry. Uh... How about I make it up to you, tomorrow?" smirked Ethan
"Hello? I'm right here!" said Katelyn
"I can see that," said Ethan
"You said you liked me..." I said
"And I do. Why are you being so awkward?" asked Ethan
"You call this awkward? You're the one hooking up with Katelyn, and also expecting to hang out with me! It would have been better if you just said no," I said
"Uh... Sorry? Should I make it up to you or no?" asked Ethan
"You're so stupid. Come on, Katelyn, we can do better than this punk," I said
"Uhh... I don't even know you. Besides, I'm horny, so I'm staying. Chop chop outta here," said Katelyn, unbuttoning Ethan's shirt.
"Ok, so you're both hoes. Got it. Have fun," I said, sarcastically
"Oh, we will," said Katelyn, biting her lip at Ethan.
"Whores," I said, getting outta Ethan's place.
I'm a pretty sensitive person when it comes to being stood up, boys, or just things. I'm new to it, but not at the same time.
Don't cry. Don't cry. A guy was about to play you, did you expect it? Yes, well... No. But don't cry!! They're stupid. They always do the same crap.
They don't deserve you, you deserve bette than an f-boy. Gosh, Emma was right. I have to start listening!
"Y/n?" a voice cut me off, I looked to see... Ricky Bowen?
"Hey, Ricky. What's up?" I asked, tears almost spilling out of my eyes
"Whoa, are you ok? Your eyes are red," he said
"I'm fine. Or uhh, I will be," I said, my voice cracking the slightest bit as tears threatened to get out.
"Here, come inside. My parents are out," he said, as he got me in his house, and into his room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So... What's bothering you?" asked Ricky.
"There was this guy... I thought he liked me, and we were supposed to hang out, but when I went to his place I saw some half naked girl on the couch, who was Katelyn, by the way. Gosh she's such a hoe. How is she popular?" I asked
"I'm sorry to hear that. You deserve better than him," said Ricky
"That's what I get for trying to lose it. I'm so sick of being a virgin, I get horny a lot... And I'm not even a good masturbather! Gosh, I'm 16, well, basically 17, but I wanna lose it so bad," I said
Ricky paused... "Remember in 5th grade? When I liked you?"
"You did? Haha, I thought you were pretty cute," I said
"Really?" he asked, I nodded.
"Do you uh... Still think that?" asked Ricky
"I mean, if someone asked me smash or pass, I'd say smash," I said
Ricky smirked, "What if I said... I never stopped?"
"Oh... For real?" I asked, he smiled and nodded
"I honestly... Don't know what to say. A part of me kind of wants to like you back, but the other part doesn't know what the fuck to do. Gosh life is filled with drama," I said
Third Person POV:
Ricky scooted closer to Y/n, "Yeah. You just gotta see where it leads you, and make smart choices." he cupped ran his thumb across her cheek without knowing.
Y/n looked up and blushed the slightest bit. He's got pretty eyes, she thought.
Ricky's eyes travelled to her lips. He'd been in love with her for a long time, and wanted to kiss her so bad.
They were getting closer without knowing, every second. Ricky wanted to just close the space and Y/n was thinking, Maybe I should kiss him? I mean, I should give him a try, he can't be that bad...
I don't want to play with his feelings, at the same time, I kind of wanna give in, but I don't kno--, thought Y/n, but then Ricky closed the space between them and they kissed.
Wow... Y/n's first kiss. It felt magical, honestly. She was kissing a cute guy. And the cute guy really liked her.
Did she like him? Kinda? She needed to figure it out, so she did it. She gave in.
On the other hand, Ricky was living his dream, he was thinking, chill, we're just kissing, but no. There could be more.
Ricky pulled Y/n closer, and she got onto his lap. Ricky was getting harder each second, he gripped her ass and licked her lower lip for entrance, which she granted.
Ricky's tongue explored her mouth, she's perfect, he thought.
Y/n moaned into Ricky's mouth as he groaned into hers.
Ricky started to move Y/n up and down on his lap, Y/n noticed he was getting hard and smirked.
Ricky then switched their positions and made Y/n be the bottom, as he went on top of her and started kissing down her neck, looking for her weak spot, which he found and nibbed at it. Leaving a few hickeys.
Y/n moaned and tugged on Ricky's hair, making him groan.
Ricky reached to the ends of Y/n's shirt, eventually taking it off and doing the same with his own.
Y/n took a moment to stare at Ricky's abs, running her fingers down his stomach.
"Like what you see?" he smirked, Y/n nodded.
Ricky then took a moment to look at Y/n's chest. They were average size, but also looked filled and squishy, he attacked them with his mouth, leaving kisses and hickeys before getting permission from Y/n to take it off. Which she accepted.
After a little, when he was done with her chest, he moved back up to her neck, then got one of his "needy" hands, and put it inside her underwear, slowly drawing little circles on her clit, making her moan.
"You haven't been ripped yet, right?" he asked, she shook her head
"You know you don't have to do this," said Ricky, she gave him a small smile, "I want to."
"Can you handle 2 fingers?" asked Ricky
"I don't know. But I'll try," she said, Ricky smiled, and inserted 2 fingers slowly, Y/n moaned, moving her hips signaling that she wanted more.
"You like that?" he asked, she moaned and nodded. He went a little faster, causing her to moan more.
He went faster and faster, til she couldn't take it anymore.
It won't hurt as much, Y/n thought. I've been a little stretched now.
"Can I take it off?" asked Ricky, Y/n nodded.
Ricky removed Y/n's underwear, and took a moment to look at her pussy. He was getting super hungry, but Y/n decided to speak up.
"Ricky..."
"Yeah?"
"I need you..."
"To do what?" he smirked
"Get inside me," said Y/n
"As you wish," he said, as he took off his boxers, revealing his super hard dick that was taking him a lotta effort to not get more hard.
"Whoa," said Y/n
"You like it?" he asked, she nodded
"You're big," she said, he laughed, and pecked her lips
"Tell me if it hurts too much," said Ricky, Y/n nodded. But she was so horny at this point, that when Ricky entered her, she felt pain, but it was numb.
Ricky entered her slowly, but fast. Y/n moaned, and he started to go in and out of her.
The room filled with moans and groans
"Faster," Y/n said, and Ricky did as she said.
After a minute of going in and out, "I'm close," said Ricky
"Me too," said Y/n, feeling the liquid form inside of her
"Cum on me, babe," said Ricky, Y/n smiled as she felt her liquid coming to the tip of her pussy. She held it in a few seconds because of the pleasure. However, Ricky was desperate.
He went faster and faster, making Y/n moan more.
"Please. Cum on me, I wanna feel you on me. I know it sounds like total cringe but I wanna feel you so ba-- AAGHH," moaned Ricky as his Y/n's walls tightened up around him, and she cummed, causing Ricky to do the same
He then pulled out of her, and they cleaned themselves up.
~5 minutes later~
"That was good," said Ricky, laying down next to Y/n.
"Yeah," she said, putting her head on his chest, as Ricky blushed and put an arm around her.
"So... What are we? Just fuck buddies, or is this gonna be a 1 night stand?" he asked, secretly hoping she'd accept him as a boyfriend instead.
"Well... I don't know about you, but-- I mean, you being my first time. This meant something to me..." said Y/n
"Well... Do you wanna be my girlfriend then?" asked Ricky, Y/n went silent, thinking about it.
"Shit, sorry. That was a stupid question, I mean you barely know me and--" Ricky trailed off
"Sure," Y/n smiled
"--and you're probably thinking that I'm one of those guys that just use girls for his needs and the next day-- wait... What did you say?" asked Ricky
"I said, sure," said Y/n, smiling
"So... We are dating?" asked Ricky
"Yeah, I mean, I barely know you, but I don't not know you. You're cute, and... Maybe this could work," she said
"Well, from what I know about you, we have a lot in common," Ricky smiled, and Y/n did too.
"Rick! I'm home!" a guy screamed, probably his dad.
"Ok! I have my girlfriend over, if that's ok," said Ricky, looking down at y/n who laughed
"Alright. Glad you were able to move on," said his dad.
"Hey, uh, is it ok if she spends the night?" asked Ricky
"It's fine by me," said his dad, Ricky smiled kissing Y/n's forehead.
Y/n POV:
So... I finally found my guy, Ricky and I are dating now. Let's see where this goes, lol.
Ricky POV:
Best. Day. Ever.
I finally got the girl of my dreams. I'll do anything it takes to not lose her.
luck be a (leading) lady | part 14.
[Posted 2023.08.12]
Summary: Y/N has always been a background character. That’s just life for some folks isn’t it? But what if she’s determined to not just be another member in the ensemble? What if someone helps her step into the spotlight in her own special way?
Warnings for the Series: a teeny bit of angst but mainly fluff
Pairing: ricky bowen x black!reader
Word Count: 3.0k
Previous Part | (Series Masterlist)
Tumblr media
Despite the documentary trailer coming out, the general public didn’t believe you and Ricky were together. According to everyone, the whole show was an act. A very entertaining act but an act nonetheless. Not that you or Ricky minded. With the increase in auditions and booking small roles, you wanted your personal life to stay personal for just a little longer. You told Gina that much as you helped her finish packing.
Her mom was back into so your roommate turned sister was officially leaving your house. Gina dragged her entire closet into your room so you two could pack up and watch a movie on the projector screen in your room.
“I can’t believe your moving. Seriously,” you said as you shoved her jackets into a box.
“You act like I’m leaving the state, I’m literally across the street.”
“Yeah, I can’t believe that old couple finally chose to live in a nursing home.”
You and Gina paused before you bursted out in laughter. It was really nice to have her stay near by. While you were friends with the rest of the drama club, Gina and Ricky were still your only close friends at East High.
“You know what I can’t believe,” Gina started. “That two of my best friends are leaving me next year.”
“Senior year. I still haven’t processed it yet,” you admitted.
A knock on the door caught your attention. Your dad was standing in the doorway with a plate of fruit. “My lovely senior and junior…”
You and Gina rolled your eyes.
“Gina, your mother wants me to remind you that she’d like you home by ten thirty and that you two can talk tomorrow at school.”
“Got it.”
“Thank you, here you guys go. Let’s try to finish packing before the night is over.”
“If you really want us to finish. Dad, you could he—”
The sound of your window opening made you all turn. You laughed as Ricky practically fell into your room. He jumped up with a quickness.
“Hi, Mr. L/N. Y/N, Gina.”
“Hello, Richard. You do know we have a front door, right?” you father pointed to downstairs.
“Yeah but since you guys said I’m allowed over any time, it’s not as much fun unless I’m going through the window.”
Your dad looked up at the ceiling. “I have clearly overstayed my welcome talking to a bunch of teenagers. Okay, Gina, home by ten thirty. Richard no sleeping in Y/N’s room but you are welcome to take any other room upstairs. Bed time is eleven, no negotiations. School’s tomorrow… I can’t believe my baby is a senior.”
“Dad, Dad, there’s plenty of time before I graduate. We don’t need to start crying now.”
“Oh, whatever.”
You chuckled as your dad left the room before focusing on Ricky again. He had no problem showing affection towards you with Gina in the room because she was the only person that knew you and Ricky were a real couple. She wasn’t exactly sure how she felt about being sworn to secrecy no matter the reason but she was still just happy to be let in.
Your boyfriend sat on the bed, actually helping you pack up Gina’s closet. “I wanted to give you something but I couldn’t really wait until tomorrow. Well, both of you, kind of.”
“What is it?”
“So, I’ve had this melody stuck in my head all day and it reminded me of Y/N.”
“Sap,” Gina muttered.
“I think it’s sweet.” You leaned over to give him a peck.
“Anyway, I know you don’t really write songs but you have an ear for music Y/N and Gina does write lyrics so I thought maybe we could work on this together?”
“Of course.”
“Okay.” Ricky stood up to leave. “I actually do have to get home. One of Dad’s only rules is bed by ten on the first day of school.”
“Seriously?”
He nodded. “Yep, it’s been a tradition since I started… and it is nine thirty so I do need to go.”
You gave him another kiss. “Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow… Oh! Did Lucille send you the filming schedule?”
“Yeah, I’m just glad the filming is here. Senior year away from East High would’ve been such a bummer.”
“I know right. Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
~~
You leaned against Ashylnn’s locker, chuckling as you watched Kourtney and Carlos take pictures with fans. It was weird to say you guys had fans.
“So what do you think, Y/N?”
“Hmm?” You focused back on Gina and Ashlynn.
“About Ash and Maddie giving each other relationship advice.”
You and Gina shared a look before you stood up straight. “I think that’s for Ashlynn to figure out but we need to figure out how to get to the drama club before we’re late for Ms. Jenn’s big announcement.”
Ashlynn’s eyebrows furrowed. “For me to figure out what?”
“Nothing,” you said with a laugh before grabbing her and Gina’s hands and leading them to the drama club.
You guys weren’t sure why Ms. Jenn called everyone in for a “surprise.” It was pretty obvious that the next play was going to be High School Musical 3. Without stupid Zacky Roy around to throw the Drama Club off their game, you guys were going right back to doing Disney TV shows for musicals. You just hoped that next semester you guys did Teen Beach Movie before you graduated.
You felt Ricky squeeze your hand once before you guys broke apart and left the drama room with everyone else to go to the Pep Rally. Staying lowkey was going to be so hard. You let Ashlynn and Gina walk in between the two of you on your way to the field.
“Can you believe auditions are this Friday? I need to pick a song,” Ashlynn said as she started searching through a list written down on her phone.
“What part are you going for Ash?”
“I’m thinking Kelsey or Sharpay. You?”
You shrugged. “Whatever doesn’t interfere with filming and my calculus homework. You know I’ve been demoted at Saltwater.”
“What?!”
You chuckled at your friends’ expressions. “Not like that. Bennet agreed that Principal dancer is too much to handle with school and filming so I’m only principal for the fall ballet since we’ve been rehearsing it before filming next month and then I’m just a first soloist for the rest of the time. It’s better this way anyway. This is the exact arrangement I’m going to having at Berklee. I’m thankful to get but my academic advisor sends me an email like every other day with updates. My inbox is dying.”
You guys sat down in your seats, finally moving to be next to Ricky.
“That still means we get to come watch you perform at Saltwater, right?”
“Yeah, you are looking at Coraline Jones in our fall production.”
Before your friends could celebrate you, the pep rally started much to your relief. You were still getting used to being the center of attention without losing the ability to breathe. Part of the reason you weren’t so prepared to be the lead in a feature film. A small film but still… The first Twilight movie was an indie film.
At least you didn’t have time to overanalyze that because the dude who played Coach Bolton was at the pep rally? You and Ricky rolled your eyes and sighed at the same time with the announcement of High School Musical 4 being filmed at your school. Just why?
Of course all the students were cheering no matter what, hoping that filming would mess with classes a little. You had a little fangirl moment when they announced one of the new stars of High School Musical 4. Mack and Dani.
Kourtney played Dani’s TikToks over and over again when you guys were at camp. Hopefully she could act because her TikToks seemed so nice. And Mack? Well you couldn’t help but squeal a little when they announced him.
Your friends looked at you causing you to laugh. “You don’t understand, I had one of the biggest crushes on him when I was little.”
“Me too!” Gina said with excitement. “Mark and Spark was my comfort show.”
“You know, he was supposed to be the first male lead in the movie I’m filming and my heart stopped until he cancelled of course.”
“Well now we know why,” Ashlynn said before focusing back on the stage.
You leaned your head on Ricky’s shoulder, having felt him tense up behind you. He relaxed when you grabbed his hand for a brief moment.
“You know I don’t mean anything by it. It was just a stupid celebrity crush,” you whispered.
“Celebrity crushes are still crushes.”
“Well then it was a stupid little crush. Is that better?”
“Yeah,” Ricky said with a squeeze of your hand.
You made a note to stay at Ricky's for a late dinner later after ballet rehearsal just to make sure he wasn’t still jealous. This relationship really was new territory for the both of you. But that would have to wait because now it was time for a second surprise in the drama room. You were getting real sick of surprises. And super sick of the security guard trying to block access to the drama room because of “filming”.
“Ahh!”
You all turned at Kourtney’s scream.
“Corbin Bleu?”
“Oh great,” Ricky muttered.
“Okay, okay. I deserve that a bit. But I am here to make amends. I know that documentary wasn’t what any of us expected.”
“Seb isn’t talking to me.” Carlos pointed out.
Ashlynn nodded along with him. “Yeah and Big Red is in Cairo for six months.”
“I hear you but we’ve found a way to make it up to you.”
“Uh, who’s we?” you asked with a raised hand.
You heard footsteps before you saw the people attached to the noise. You couldn’t believe it. Standing right in front of you was the original cast of High School Musical. Honestly, Corbin might have actually gotten you guys the best apology gift ever.
Featured extras in High School Musical 4? That was sick! So was everyone character development. You had to admit that you didn’t see Troy and Gabriella being in couples’ therapy… because you thought they would’ve broken up freshman year of college since they were such an on and off again relationship. The entire class was giggling uncontrollably at the prospects of being together on set.
Kourtney raised her hand. “Well, if the movie is going for authenticity casting a drama class to play Ms. Darbus’ drama class then Mack and Dani should consult us. The real life kids of East High.”
“This is why she’s the smart one,” someone said as you all high-fived.
Apparently, the OG cast thought she was brilliant as well because it didn’t take them any convincing. She was immediately assigned to Dani. You playfully shook her shoulders to let her know you were proud of her.
“Do we have any volunteers for Mack?” Lucas asked.
“Right like someone who grew up loving his tv show. Or two someones?”
You tried to back out of being Mack’s guide but it was too late. You were stuck co-guiding with Gina. All you wanted to do was focus on movie rehearsals, ballet rehearsals, your relationship, school, and drama club. That was a lot of things. Guiding Mack was not on your list of things.
You acted like that wasn’t the case when you went to go see the superstar, putting on your best smile. Your eyes went wide at an almost naked man getting his calf measured.
“Oh my,” you and Gina said at the same time.
Mack looked over. “Can I help you?”
You let Gina take over as you tried to look everywhere but at Mack, feeling embarrassed and more awkward than usual.
“We are so sorry. We are real students here, only one credit on IMDb so far but anyway, we were assigned to give you a hand.”
“Yeah, I’d love to know who assigned you to interrupt my costume fitting.”
“No. That was our bad.”
“Yeah,” you offered up. “If we had known you weren’t dressed we would’ve come way sooner before school ended… Soo-sooner because you’d have clothes on. Not whatever you l-look like you, like you’re thinking of. Oh my goodness.”
“Would you mind turning around?”
You and Gina looked at each other before doing just that. “That was probably the first thing we should have done.”
“Okay. So, I do have to ask,” Gina started. “Do you still keep in touch with the dog from the show?”
“There were seven of them and they all retired to a farm upstate.”
“Oh that’s so swee—”
“Uh, G,” you cut her off. “That means they aren’t, um, currently pr—”
“It means they’re dead.” Mack had put on a shirt so you guys could turn around. “The farm is heaven.”
“Well that ruined everything,” your friend muttered. “Okay, we’re going to leave now and we can all pretend we never met.”
“Oh, I’m way ahead of you.”
“Good luck on the movie, Mack. Hope you break a leg, literally.”
“Good luck with your lives, superfans.”
You felt your face get hot as you marched up to him. “Her name is Gina Porter and can I just say, I’m so glad High School Musical 4 took you in. Acting alongside you in Sweet Pea Americano would have literally killed me… G-Gina, why did I just say that?”
“I’m proud of you.” She swung her arm over your shoulder so you guys could leave. “Even with anxiety, you always stick up for your friends.”
“I think I’m going to pass out.”
“Come on, let’s go see if Ricky got a smoothie for us at the food truck.”
While you were mortified at your actions, Gina proudly recanted the entire story to Ricky who echoed her sentiments. You guys went you separate ways. There was no carpool with Gina today. Carlos called her over for an emergency meeting of the Finer Things Club at Kourtney’s house, leaving Ricky to drop you off at Saltwater. You guys stopped at a salad bar first so you could get some real food into your system.
“Oh, Gina finished the lyrics to the song.”
“Already?”
“You know her. Once she gets started on a mission, she can’t stop until it’s complete. Do you want to hear it?”
“Of course, do you have the lyrics on you?”
You handed Ricky your phone to look at the screenshots of Gina’s song journal. Your harmonies were rough and sometimes the melody fell off but the two of you had fun singing all the way back to the car.
“Are you sure you don’t mind picking me up?” you asked him as you leaned into the driver’s side window after getting your bags from the back of the car once you guys reached your destination. “Because we don’t get out till eleven and Mrs. Porter said it was fine for her to pick me up since Saltwater is between Kourtney’s house and ours.”
“It’s fine, baby, I like picking you up.”
“Okay. Oh, don’t forget. Gina’s driving tomorrow morning.”
“I can’t believe she got a car.”
“I can’t believe she got a license.”
You said bye one last time and headed inside for you ballet rehearsals. While you were dancing, Ricky was doing homework, and Gina was laughing as she got into Kourtney’s room. Ashlynn and Carlos were already there and Kourtney… well, she was meditating at the edge of her bed. While, Ashlynn had nearly forty missed texts from Maddox. Gina so had to tell you about that when you and Ricky came over for breakfast tomorrow morning.
Her smile faded at the announcement that Kourtney wasn’t sure about doing the school musical or not. She wasn’t sure if Dani was the best thing for Kourtney. She especially wasn’t sure when her friend suddenly became supper eager and chipper to answer her phone call. Kourtney put Dani on speaker after the others swore to be quiet.
“Hi, so I was studying you. Not in a creepy way but I’m really trying to get into character as a real East High drama student.”
Gina made a face when Dani suddenly stopped the speak pretty harshly to the driver taking her to the airport.
“Anyway, you’ve got that X factor, Kourt, and I want to help you grow your footprint. But I’ve been looking through your post and to be honest I’ve noticed something.”
“It’s the honesty for me,” Kourtney said with a nervous lilt to her voice.
“If I’m going to show you exactly what it’s like to grow an audience and you’re going to do the same for me as an East High student, I want you to tell me everything you know about Ricky Bowen.”
Gina bit her tongue as her other three friends stared at each other with suspicious looks on their faces. She got strange vibes for some reason but didn’t want to act on what could be nothing. Besides, she promised you two that she wouldn’t say anything to anyone. And how could she tell Kourtney not to mention Ricky to Dani if she didn’t ended up revealing something?
~~
You looked down at your phone to see a text from Ricky.
I’m still on my way, baby. Don’t worry, I’m stopped at a red light. I’ll be there in like 10 minutes. I wish your rehearsal didn’t end so late so we could’ve stayed up cuddling.
You smiled at the text before sending a little heart emoji, nothing that would require Ricky to look down at his phone after the light turned green. You ruffled around your bag to get your water bottle, reaching for your phone again when you felt the familiar vibration of a text. Another one from Ricky.
This red light is long. Do you want to get McDonalds after this?
You shook your head, deciding it was better to just answer him in person. A groan left you mouth when you felt the vibration again. That light wasn’t going to be red forever, if he was texting while driving then you were going to scold him because that could seriously inju—
Why was Mack now following your Instagram?
Jealousy tickles
Pairing: Ler!Gina Porter x Lee!Reader
Summary: You throw a surprise for Gina after a bad night of jealousy
Warnings: Tickling, raspberries, bad flirting?, hsmtmts spoilers if you care about that, writing this I realize there's no mention of Ricky Bowen
An: Based on the one episode where Ricky decorates Gina's trailer
Tumblr media
Having a girlfriend makes you do weird things, such as suddenly being an expert on arts and crafts on a Tuesday afternoon.
“Wait Gi I'm not finished.", You say, although Gina enters her trailer. You would stop her from entering but you were too busy setting up streamers and making sure it didn't drop. Sure enough when Gina opened the door it fell again, but with dozens of failed attempts you gave up. But one streamer doesn't matter when you decorated a whole banner, got her a gift basket with all her favorite goodies, and a Build a Bear stuffed animal clothed as a cheerleader in less than three hours. Gina was flabbergasted, not believing the surprise you left in her trailer. It was as if you were throwing a birthday party, even if both of your birthdays landed during second semester. Before seizing a splurge of kisses or a hug you fix one minor detail to your plan.
“Wait!", You say, putting your hand up. You grabbed the red and white confetti from the couch and swooshed it in the air. Yes it made a big mess but it didn't matter, since there's people to clean up the mess. “Okay now I'm finished."
With much energy Gina gave you a big hug. The ones that she loves you a bit too hard that it sucks your soul out. You've gotten better at holding her whenever she leans foward in hugs. Usually when she does your masculine strength can barely hold on and you almost fall over. But not this time. Secretly in your mind you give yourself props for that.
“You did all this?? How??", Gina asks, looking around at her trailer filled with treats. She's never been happier in her entire life. Plus this was perfect timing as she's been having a tiring day from filming scene to scene on HSM4 with costar Mack.
“It took two days, bribery, and some advice from Ashlyn but I made it happen.", You say, smiling at Gina. Preparation was WORK, but it was worth it to see a billion dollar smile from Gina. In one day you were on a mission to get Gina's favorites from the mall and set them up into a basket. As for the cute bear in a red cheerleading outfit you had a friend from Build A Bear to give you a discount (not because you were friends but because your girlfriend is a movie star). As far as the trailer you told your plan to Ashlyn, the only person that knows about you and Gina from an accidental make out in the bathroom during Halloween. She liked it, although complained that it was missing something. That anyone who was dating Gina needed to go big or go home.
Coming from the person who lived with Gina for awhile, you can trust her word.
“You're such a surprise everyday y/n, but why?", Gina asks, having her hands on the back of your neck. She had on a cheerleader outfit on with her hair straightened with a ponytail, such a look that you absolutely love. Gina has been flaunting the hell out of her cheerleading outfits that it had put you in such a lee mood. Which makes you rewind that you set this surprise up from you seeing Gina share a tickle moment with Mack.
“I wanted to apologize for being a dick with Mack and being a downer during the whole. It wasn't me.", You say, apologizing for what happened last night. You two sit down on the couch, discussing of what came from the small gathering at Ashlyn's house.
“I can't be mad, Kourtney was sort of pushing it with the ship questions between me and Mack.", Gina says, holding your hand. A couple of days ago there was a celebration of Gina being the lead role of HSM4, the reunion. As everyone was dancing to hsm songs and eating pizza from Biggie's pizzeria the main event was Mack coming. He came with stacks of Apple cider for everyone to enjoy, all while wearing the matching purple and blue bracelet as Gina. Suddenly that small detail had the party questioning if there was a secret relationship with Gina.
She's in a secret relationship, just not with him.
Thru numerous denies everyone was suspecting that they were a thing. Even though the evidence in question was being in a movie with him and matching bracelets they had to make for a scene. Yet she was wearing the headphones you gifted her and her lipstick being smack dab in the middle of your neck, in the open. Same shade and all. Yet the small photo that Kourtney took of them made them viral in less than twenty minutes, and now suddenly people were asking questions and making ship names for them. MaGi, seriously?
“I know, but I haven't been much of a supportive girlfriend since you've been casted. I'm proud of you for taking this opportunity and that after school you'll go to new Zealand and be a pretty princess.", You say, grazing Gina's chin. Gina giggles, her nose scrunching while looking at you. “I sort of...been jealous of you and Mack. I mean I know we're supposed to have a secret relationship because of the documentary and hiding that you aren't such a mean bisexual but I thought maybe someone could've gotten the hint. Excluding Ashlyn because she's nosy. But I'm sorry, I should've never acted that way."
You were waiting for a response from Gina's big brown eye stare. She stares trying to copy your habit of wandering in her eyes and just smiling. When she stops she leans in for a soft kiss. Feeling the small spark you both kiss again. “I accept your apology, and I understand. Having to idolize Mack and making a movie with him people have seemed to be more delusional than me. But I promise once this musical and movie are over we'll hangout more and hopefully they'll get the hint that we're dating. But Mack is America's puppy, you're my puppy.", Gina says, patting your head. You weren't ever sure if your friends will get the hint of you and Gina dating. They'll still bring up the Mack cutout even if she was wearing your sweatshirt.
“Also...there's a lot of things that I wouldn't do to Mack that I'd do to you.", She says, her tone getting slightly lower while making intense eye contact with you. You make intense eye contact back, almost wanting to break it by how wide your smile was getting. You thought Gina's flirt was another chance to kiss you, but sometimes you never know what she's thinking.
“And what is it?", You saying, leaning closer trying to close the hint with a kiss. As you get closer Gina doesn't budge, but she does smirk. “Why don't I tickle you and find out.", Gina says, not even giving you a five second head start and tickling you. You were laughing with your head back over Gina's probing to your side.
“GIGIGIGI!!", You say, already laughing and barely getting any strength out to release her hand from the grips on your side. Although you say her name in hopes for her to stop you make no effort to push the tickles away. In fact you tried to get in a comfortable position on the couch to get your giggles in from Gina. Even if most of the tickles were done sneaking in Gina's bed at night a small brown couch in the trailer will do. Your laughter melts on the couch, letting your body vibe with the giggles and scribbling of Gina's fingers to your tummy.
“I forgot you haven't been tickled for four days, no wonder why you've been a bit jealous.", She says, teasing you. Still laughing upon the tickles you cover your face in embarrassment. You can sense the pink rising from your cheeks. “SHUTUPUPHAHAHA!!", You say, reacting to the pokes and deep thumb massaging on your side, inching close to your ribs. You were laying down, being surprised that your limbs were under control from the wild tickling. But that's the power of Gina's tickling, to where everything else is calm but your still screeching and wheezing until it stops.
“Shut up? Make me. Use that masculine strength of yours to get me to stop.", She teases you once again. You always brag about being strong and calling it masculine energy by holding the door for Gina or opening the car door her. Yet Gina adores your high pitched laughs whenever her finger squeezes through your armpit. “STOPHAGAHAHAHA!!!", You laugh, trying to use that energy but instead to Gina unlimited access to tickle your armpits and neck.
Gina giggles, loving to tickle you. “Want me to stop? Okay, I will.", She says, not tickling you anymore. Of course she even knows that won't be possible so she circles your palm with her finger. Within a minute you were pouting and clinging onto Gina, wondering when you'll get tickles back. “I was kidding...", You say whining to Gina. Yet Gina can't go one week without teasing you, even if afterwards you get tortured and you feel better.
“You want me to tickle you? Recite the Mark and Spark theme song.", Gina says, insisting you do that as a reward of possible tickles. As much as Gina obsesses over that show you haven't seen a lick of yet. You tried to sing the melody from the times Jet made fun of Gina for liking such a childish show. Once your mind was able to work you had half of the song memorized, with a few mumbles in between. But it was enough to satisfy Gina.
“Okay lay down so I can tickle you.", She says, pushing you back down and using her one hand to scribble your tummy. The other was holding your hand, still lightly grazing your palm with her thumb. You were giggling, looking at Gina and loving these tickles. You took your hands and scrunched them around Gina's face, wanting her to get closer for a kiss. With each small kiss and little pecks trailing off to your jawline and chin became a very unexpected neck raspberry. “HAHAHAHAHAHA!!", You say, bursting into a fit of giggles. It's surprising that such a thing would make you laugh this hard, since this is Gina's first time ever doing it.
“Wait, that was kind of fun.", Gina says, loving the reaction you gave. You were laughing about it, nodding but being too tongue tied in your giggles to respond back. “NONONOGINAHAHAHHW!!", You say until your words get cut off my laughter again of another neck raspberry from Gina. Since you two been dating she's loves to tickle you. But it's only ever soft tickles while you two are cuddling and watching a movie. You love your soft tickles but you wanted to be challenged and get tortured by Gina. She's been procrastinating on her research because of school and extracurricular activities, but you were good up to now about her not knowing the secret of raspberries.
Still Gina was tickling your tummy, having her hands either on the sweatshirt you were wearing or the bare skin exposed from wiggling around too much. You were still laughing, unable to think of a sneaky comeback that'll make Gina tickle you more. “IHAHHAHAHHAHAHNN", You laugh, still hating how your brain can barely form words from Gina having her fingers around your neck and pinching your thighs. You were gasping for any sense of words but it gets tangled in your loud, bubbly laughter. “Let me give you a break before something happens.", Gina says, giving you some water from her backpack to give to you. Even when hydrated you were still whining about feeling empty without your tickles.
“I'll tickle you tonight during our HSM marathon. But for right now let's go before Kourtney goes on a hunt to find me.", Gina says, helping you up and making sure your sweatshirt isn't too wrinkled. By this time practice would've been over and everyone heads down the block for pizza. She fixes your collar with stars in her eyes, giving you one last kiss before you're not allowed to be five feet near each other. “Thank you for this surprise."
“Anything for my superstar."
Omg i loved those Ricky gifs!! Would you mind writing a fluffy fic where you are Ricky Bowen’s best friend and you kinda see him though his relationship with Nina and all but in the end he realizes he’s in love with you?
Tumblr media
ricky stood in front of his mirror as he smoothed out his flannel shirt, turning to you for approval. "it looks nice, rick, but are you sure you want to be dating nina again? do you remember how you were when it ended the first time?" you ask and cross your legs, ricky rolling his eyes.
"it's not like that this time, yn. nini and i needed time to think things over and it's not going to end like it did before" you looked away, already seeing the future. "okay, i'm off. don't break anything, just let yourself out, yeah?" you gave him a thumbs up, ricky grabbing his jacket and car keys and racing out the door.
you laid in his bed, observing everything around his room. posters, drawers, music sheets, pictures. there were pictures from you two from kindergarten, 4th grade, and more.
you didn't want to stay in his room for any longer. you grabbed your things and headed out, getting some comfort food then heading home. you changed into comfy clothes and watched your comfort movie.
ricky: Date went so well, yn. I think this time is different.
you didn't bother replying, just locking your phone and continuing to shovel food in your mouth as you watch the movie.
--
ricky sat across from you on your bed as you two rehearsed his lines for beauty and the beast. ricky pretended to die and you couldn't keep in your giggles, ricky hitting you with his script.
"stop! this is serious, i need to practice"
"no, can we take a break? i'm getting tired" you mumble and he nods, and you flipped back with a satisfied sigh. "i thought you were supposed to rehearse with nina today?"
ricky's smile drooped into a slight frown, and you regretted saying anything. "i did something bad, yn" you sat up quickly and furrowed your eyebrows. "on her phone, on here singing page there was this comment from this guy. i deleted it, it was talking about meeting up and singing a song or whatever, and i feel awful about it"
"ricky.. you have to tell her" ricky nodded, wiping his sweaty palms on his jeans. his phone started to ring. "speak of the devil"
ricky glared and he answered it, telling her he wanted to see her in the treehouse. you bit the inside of your lip as you knew where this was going to go. "alright.. i'm going to her house"
"good luck" you smile and patted his back, ricky slowly moving out of your room. you were crossing your fingers and toes that this was going to be the end. you were happy for your best friend, but you were tired of being the relationship counselor for ricky, when you had never been in one before.
your phone rang 2 hours later, and it was ricky. "hi rick, what's up?" you heard him sniffle and you closed your eyes, shaking your head softly.
"can i come back over?" you nod like he could see you. "i don't want to be alone in my thoughts right now"
"yeah, i'm just up in my room" ricky hung up and you gathered some things up, and when you were done, soft and pitiful knocks sounded on your door. you opened it and a blood shot eyed ricky stood in front of you. "oh, rick.." he fell into you and cried, and you rubbed his back.
"there was nothing left to hold onto, yn, i had to let her go" he cried and you shush him, bringing him to your room. as he laid on your bed ranting, you took off his shoes and jacket, handing him sweatpants and a t-shirt. you turned around as he changed, still ranting. "i think this was it, yn. there's no getting her back" ricky sniffled and you drape your blanket over him, sitting next to him and leaning your elbow on his waist.
"maybe it's for the best that you two aren't together, ricky. i've watched you in this relationship, and you're happy, then you're miserable. it hurts now, but you'll soon realize it's for the best" you smile, rubbing your finger over his eyebrow. "i'm gonna go get you some tylenol and an ice pack so your eyes don't swell from you crying" ricky nodded and you pat his side, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
ricky sat up fast as he realized what was right in front of him for the 14 years of knowing you. you were always there for him, high or low, no matter what. you two barely fought, and he always felt safe around you. "holy shit" you walk back into the room and ricky looks up at you. "it's you"
"what's me?"
"i told nini it felt like i'm not doing something right in my life. and i know what it is, yn. it's you" ricky stood up and held your face. "it's always been you, hasn't it?"
"ricky, you just broke up nina, are you sure.. you're not thinking too much?" you tried to play it off, but he could tell. ricky smiled, shaking his head. "ricky.."
"tell me, yn" ricky spoke and you held the back of his biceps, looking up him. "tell me what you want to say"
"ricky, you're vulnerable right now, you don't know what you're saying.." you whisper, eyes flickering over his face.
"i know what you want to say" you look up at his eyes. "you love me. you have forever, haven't you?"
"ever since middle school, ricky" you whisper and he smiles, leaning down and kissing you softly. you slowly close your eyes, deepening the kiss and molding your body into his.
"it's always been you, yn, and i was just too stupid to see it" ricky mumbled against your lips and you laugh, pulling away and sitting down on your bed.
"ricky you just broke up with nina, let's take it slow, okay?" ricky nodded and you couldn't look at him with smiling and blushing. finally. after 14 years of knowing him during your 18 years of living, the secret was finally out. and you were so happy it was out, because his secret was the same as yours.
fake boyfriend (ricky bowen x reader)
summary: in which (y/n) asks ricky to pretend to be her boyfriend and that makes hidden feelings slip out.
prompt: “can you pretend to be my boyfriend? it’ll be fifteen minutes tops.”
extra pairing: luke patterson x platonic!reader
warnings: underage drinking, kissing(?)
gif’s not mine.
Tumblr media
This is what I get for lying, (Y/N) thought to herself as she scrambled around the party desperately looking for her best friend.
She walked past a couple making out in the corner of the living room, nose scrunching up in disgust as she got a glimpse of the sloppy kiss. It was loud, music blasting at full volume and voices that could barely be heard over the thumping of the base (she wondered if the neighbors would complain about that). A cheer erupted from the kitchen and she turned her head around to see two girls celebrating they’d gotten the little white ball inside the red cup, they were close to winning the round of cup pong. (Y/N) bumped past dancing teenagers, apologizing halfheartedly. She held a red cup in her hand, carefully raising it over her head as she moved past people, trying her best not to spill the content. She wished she could just sit back and enjoy her drink, instead she found herself avoiding Bobby Wilson.
At the distance she saw Luke Patterson, her childhood best friend, talking to Julie Molina.
She smirked as she watched them interact. They were unbelievably adorable. (Y/N) knew Luke had the biggest crush on Julie, even if he wouldn’t admit it to himself. She knew Luke like the back of her hand and his adoration for the younger girl was evident in the way he spoke about her and how absolutely smitten he looked at the moment.
Feeling eyes on him Luke turned around to meet her eyes. She glared at him, half playful, half serious. All it took was a single look of her face to notice the slight annoyance and Luke immediately knew the reason behind it. The idiot had the audacity of chuckling.
This was all his fault and he was laughing.
Such an ass, honestly.
She rolled her eyes and cursed him in her mind, flipping him off as she did. He responded with a smirk. She wasn’t truly mad, over the years she’d come to learn and accept that she could never be truly upset at Luke, and he was well aware of that.
Luke didn’t feel particularly guilty. When he’d suggested introducing (Y/N) to his band mates he’d done it without ulterior motives (she would counter that he’d known about Bobby’s crush on her and was therefore responsible for her current situation, he would shot back that she’d been the one to lie).
Truth to be told (Y/N) had been pretty excited when Luke had suggested that she meet his friends. She’d known Patterson since they’d both been in diapers, they’d grown up together and there wasn’t a moment of her life that she couldn’t remember him being around, but attending different schools meant that they had different groups of friends. Now, that was cool and all (after all, Luke was like that annoying little brother that you just can’t shake off and she was certain that if they’d had the same friends they both would’ve exploded) but lately he’d been talking a lot about his new band, Sunset Curve, and she’d been dying to meet them. She wondered if they would have embarrassing stories about Luke which she could use to tease him.
They were all incredible people. Alex was incredibly sweet and sassy, Reggie was incredibly funny and Bobby had an incredibly evident crush on her. It was so obvious it was almost painfully uncomfortable. Luke would later let her know that Bobby had been asking about her ever since he’d seen the picture of them together at (Y/N)’s mom’s wedding.
Now, (Y/N) liked Bobby just fine— he was a nice guy, much like Alex and Reggie —but she wasn’t interested in him in a romantic way. She had told him that, trying to let him down as gently as possible, but he seemed fixed on the idea that he could make her change her mind.
Being absolutely done with his shameless flirting she had resorted to her last option: lying. And not only did she lie but she did it like a pro, slowly introducing the idea that she was seeing someone before, weeks later, announcing that she now officially had a boyfriend.
Luke had snorted, she had elbowed him hard in the gut and Bobby had finally backed off.
She never expected to be forced to introduce her invisible and completely nonexistent boyfriend to Luke’s friend. But EJ’s parents were out of town and he’d asked Alex if Sunset Curve could play for his birthday and when people from both East High and Los Feliz had heard the band was playing a massive party had been formed. Bobby had jumped at the opportunity of meeting her boyfriend in this gigantic get together, she had given him a tight lipped smile and a nod and Luke had smirked at her discomfort.
She hadn’t panicked much at first, at the end of the day she could just tell him that her ‘boyfriend’ was sick and wouldn’t be able to make it. Well, that possibility had gone out of the window the moment Luke decided to open his big mouth.
“Oh, he’ll be here,” Luke had informed Bobby as they got ready to go onstage, ignoring the glare (Y/N) sent his way and (somehow) managing to not flinch when she pinched him in the arm in an attempt to make him shut up. “He texted me, said he wouldn’t miss it.”
It was payback. She’d eaten his favorite cookies two days prior (even when he’d called dibs on them and tried to hide them at the back of the cupboard) and now she was paying for it.
In the midst of panicking an idea had popped into her head; she just needed someone to be her fake boyfriend for the night.
Brilliant plan, if she said so herself.
So now here she was after Sunset Curve’s performance, looking for the only person in the world that could pull off the ‘fake boyfriend’ role; Ricky Bowen.
(Y/N) had met Ricky while skateboarding. He’d stepped on her way as she was performing a trick, causing her to fall down and scrape her knees and hands in the process. She’d risen from the floor, eyes filled with rage, ready to exchange some words with the guy, but the apologetic look in his face had made the annoyance leave her body immediately. He’d offered to patch her up and later bought her an ice cream and they’d found themselves talking until the sun came down and she received a call from her mom urging her to come home. They’d been close friends ever since. She’d been through ups and downs with him; from Nini’s breakup and his whole attempt to get her back (which had ultimately failed as they both realized they were much better as friends than as a couple) to his parent’s divorce. Ricky trusted (Y/N) more than he trusted anyone else, even Big Red, and he knew her inside out; he knew she liked to cuddle while watching movies and that she hated mixing sweet and sour, he knew she danced around in her room whenever she was feeling sad and that she was actually much more sensible that she let on. It was only natural that (Y/N)’s mind immediately drifted to Ricky Bowen (as it always did), there was no one who would be able to pull off the fake boyfriend role other than him.
She finally spotted him at the distance and she felt her shoulder relax. Then, from her sideways vision she saw Bobby Wilson making his way around the room, eyes darting around as if looking for someone. (Y/N) ducked her head and quickly made her way towards her friend.
“Hi, Gina,” (Y/N) greeted the younger girl who was making small conversation with Ricky. The girl nodded her head and sent a smile her way as a response, opening her mouth to ask (Y/N) why she looked so out of breath before being interrupted. “I’m taking him with me for a while, hope you don’t mind.” (Y/N) grabbed Ricky by the elbow and started walking away. The older boy looked confused, eyebrows furring but he allowed his friend to pull him away.
“Bye, Gina!” she sent over her shoulder, words barely hearable over the loud music.
Gina only chuckled and sent a wave their way, always amused by (Y/N)’s vibrant personality.
(Y/N) kept on walking until she found a spot far away from the music and the people. She turned around and gave Ricky a smile, the same one she always gave him when she needed something from him.
“What do you want?” he asked as he looked down at her, voice teasing.
He knew her too well.
“Can you pretend to be my boyfriend? It’ll be fifteen minutes tops.”
It was quite obvious that the brown haired guy wasn’t expecting those words to fall from her mouth because his eyes became wide and he coughed out the drink on his mouth.
“Are you drunk?”
“Not even slightly tipsy.”
(Although she kind of wished she was.)
“Oh, you’re serious,” Ricky realized as he examined her face to look for any sort of indication that she was joking but she simply started expectantly back at him.
“Deadly,” she replied, stepping forward and grabbing him by the shoulders. “My life depends on this.”
He rolled his eyes, failing to hide the slight upward twitch of his lips at her dramatics.
“Why would you—” But he was interrupted when (Y/N), who was looking behind his shoulder, exclaimed “He’s coming!”
She looked up at him, slight amusement in her eyes. “You’re an actor, Bowen. I expect nothing but the best performance.”
Maybe he should’ve said no. He had a hard time keeping his feelings in check whenever she was around and now she was asking him to act upon them. But he could never deny her anything and so, even when he was perplexed and truly did not understood the situation, Ricky allowed himself to go along with (Y/N)’s plan.
He turned around when he heard someone call out, “(Y/N)! There you are! I’ve been looking around for you.”
Ricky wasn’t able to ignore the giddy feeling in his chest when her hand linked with his and she leaned into his side. He wasn’t able to ignore how he felt his heart flutter, either. It was truly appalling, really, that (Y/N) hadn’t realized yet just how much he cared for her. He thought he was fairly obvious.
“Hey, Bobby,” she replied with enthusiasm but Ricky could hear beyond the superficial tone. Whoever this dude was, (Y/N) was truly exasperated with him.
“You must be the boyfriend,” Bobby said as he finally turned to acknowledge Ricky.
Ricky didn’t miss the way he sneered a little when he pronounced the last word. It vexed him in a way it probably shouldn’t have.
“I am,” he replied, offering a forced smile.
Sensing the tense environment (Y/N) spoke up once more.
“Bobby, this is Ricky Bowen, my boyfriend as you already know,” and there was no ounce of hesitation in the way she introduced him. He couldn’t help but smile, even if it wasn’t real. She turned towards him. “Ricky, this is Bobby Wilson, he’s one of Luke’s bandmates.”
Ricky watched the way this guy looked her up and down quickly before finally turning to look at him.
“Nice to meet you, man.”
He pressed his lips together, ignoring the way he felt his chest tightened by the way Bobby looked at his girl.
Ricky let go of (Y/N)’s hand and hugged her around her shoulder, pressing her close to her side. She hid her confusion and immediately wrapped her arm around his waist, comfortably leaning her head in his chest. (Y/N) wondered if he had always felt this warm, if his touch had always been this calming. Maybe she’d never realized it before because she’d always maintained a certain distance from Ricky, strictly friends and just that. This act was making things crumble down slowly. She ignored the way her heart raced when he started rubbing his hand up and down his shoulder. Maybe she should’ve asked EJ to pretend to be her boyfriend, at least then she wouldn’t have been toying around with her own feelings.
“Yeah, you too,” Ricky finally responded.
(Y/N) reckoned they couldn’t have sounded less sincere even if they tried.
She looked up at him, trying to see if she could catch a glimpse of what he was feeling in his eyes and Ricky’s face immediately softened.
Bobby watched the interchange with confusion. He had been certain that (Y/N)’s boyfriend wasn’t real, that he was something she had created to make him back off. And he planned on backing off completely, but not before getting her to admit that she did not actually have a boyfriend. But now, watching the ease in which the couple acted with one another, catching the glimpse of protectiveness in her boyfriend’s eyes and how she seemed to soften with his touch, he wondered if perhaps the relationship was true and he’d been wrong.
The Sunset Curve boy decided to test it out.
“So, how long have you guys been dating?” he asked, trying to play it out as if he was just curious and not trying to catch them in a lie.
“A month,” they replied simultaneously, finally looking away from each other. They were so in sync with their reply that it would’ve been impossible to know that they’d just been lucky they’d said the exact same thing. Maybe it’d been just that, luck, or perhaps they were so in tune with each other that they’d managed to catch a sense of the other’s thoughts.
“And how did you meet?”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes, catching on what he was trying to do.
“I told you, Bobby. We met while skateboarding,” she responded, fingers absentmindedly playing with the lower part of Ricky’s sweater.
“Oh, yeah. That’s true. He made you fall right?” The condescending tone he used made Ricky’s blood boil and it was almost as if (Y/N) could sense him losing his temper because she moved in front of him, resting her back against his chest and wrapping his arms around her waist. It was a way to calm him down but also a strategical move to place herself between the both of them to prevent anyone from throwing punches. He took a deep breath and took a reign on his emotions. Ricky wasn’t quite sure why he was so utterly and completely enraged by this dude’s presence. Perhaps it had something to do with the way Bobby looked at (Y/N) or the tone he used. Either way it irked him beyond belief.
“I did,” he responded smoothly, eyes never leaving Bobby’s as his hand went up to tuck a piece of (Y/N)’s hair behind her ear. “But I bought her ice cream after that.”
(Y/N) turned her head to look up at him and she offered him a kind smile, the ones that always made Ricky’s heart speed up. “That you did, and all was forgiven.” And it wasn’t until that moment, as she looked into his brown eyes that she realized something. Every time she’d spoken about this nonexistent, very false boyfriend to the Sunset Curve boys she’d unconsciously used her memories with Ricky. She didn’t have time to even wonder what that meant because soon enough Bobby was asking yet another question.
It was obvious that Ricky was getting annoyed by how Bobby seemed to be questioning their relationship, which of course was fake but still. It irritated him that this guy wouldn’t let (Y/N) and him alone.
His grip of (Y/N)’s waist tightened just enough for her to know that he was getting winded up and she was about to cut Bobby off when Luke appeared from behind the boy, patting him in the back.
“Hey, Bobby! I see you met the boyfriend.” He had a look of delight in his eyes, as if watching his childhood best friend in this situation amused him. She sent him a discreet evil glare and he just winked back.
Luke nodded at Ricky, “Bowen.”
“Patterson,” he replied before fistbumping him.
Bobby’s face fell as the confirmation of the veracity of their relationship appeared in the form of the lead singer of his band.
“You better be treating her right,” Luke told Ricky. With the tone he used it might’ve sounded as if he was joking, but (Y/N) caught the glint of protectiveness in his eyes. He did know they were only pretending to be dating, right?
(Perhaps, Luke saw more to the relationship than either of them did.)
“Always,” was Ricky’s reply as he squeezed her hand softly.
She tried to pretend she didn’t blush when she heard those words. She’d told him to deliver a great performance and that was exactly what he was doing, nothing more than that.
Content with the response, Luke turned his attention to his friend, “Let’s leave these lovebirds alone, shall we?” And with that he steered Bobby away from the couple.
As soon as they were left alone both of them relaxed immediately, shoulders dropping.
(Y/N) turned around in his arms. They were close, close enough that if she were to stand on her tippy toes and raise her chin their lips would’ve touched. She should’ve felt somewhat awkward, she had never been this close to him before and her heart felt like it was ready to burst out of her chest, but there was nothing but serenity. Even his hands around her waist felt right.
“Thank you,” she whispered to him, smiling softly. “I owe you.”
He shook his head, softly replying, “You don’t owe me anything, bubs. I know you’d do the same for me.”
She would have. She would’ve done anything for him, really.
“Wanna go outside?” she asked him, eyes never once leaving his.
He nodded, dropping his hold on her waist and offering his hand. She’d never held hand with him before, she realized as she intertwined their fingers together.  Their hands fitted perfectly against each other, it felt as if they were just meant to be together.
They stepped outside into the cold night, sneaking out of the kitchen, dodging people and laughing at Carlos who was giving his audience a proper show as he danced on the dining table. She shivered and he took of his coat, placing it around her shoulders. She’d gently pushed him with her shoulder as a thank you, sitting down at his side on the stairs by the end of the porch.
“Are you going to explain or...?” Ricky asked, breaking the silence of the night. From where they sat the music could still be heard, but it was nothing more than background noise to them. They were in their own little bubble, separated from everything that surrounded them.
(Y/N) sighed, rolling her eyes.
“He’s been trying to get me to go out on a date with him for the longest time,” she said, rubbing her hands together to create some heat. “I told him I wasn’t interested but he wouldn’t listen so I just created this boyfriend to make him back off.”
“Of course you did,” Ricky replied with a laugh.
(Y/N) turned around to look at him, eyebrows raising in amusement, “Well it worked!”
He shook his head, chuckling, “No, it didn’t. If Patterson hadn’t arrived we would still be in there being grilled about our relationship.”
Our relationship.
“Fair point.”
They fell into silence again. She kept on rubbing her hands together and so he took them into his hands, warming them up. He’d done that before but for some reason it felt different this time. Maybe it had something to do with the tension that laid in the air between them, maybe today she wasn’t as good at pretending her heart beat only for him.
“Why didn’t you go out with him?” he asked, looking up from her hands to look at her eyes.
In that moment (Y/N) wondered if he knew. Perhaps he knew that the reason she’d spent months turning Bobby Wilson down had something to do with the way her heart raced whenever he was around and the way she sometimes dreamed of kissing his lips. She wondered if he knew that she’d tried to keep their relationship as nothing more than a friendship— even when it hurt to see him pining after Nini or kissing someone else’s lips —because she was too scared of losing him, frightened that he wouldn’t reciprocate the feelings.
She opened her mouth but he beat her to it.
“You like someone else.”
It wasn’t posed as a question but rather a statement. He truly did know her better than anyone else, perhaps even better than Luke did.
(Y/N) had never lied to Ricky and she didn’t intend on starting now, so she replied with a simple, “Yep.” Then, she took a sip of her red cup and looked away, not offering any sort of extra explanation.
Ricky tugged her by the elbow, trying to regain her attention as he tried to brush aside the small pain in his chest.
“Well, that’s— uh— that’s great,” he offered and she only huffed in response.
“I wouldn’t put it that way.”
He frowned, watching as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Not being able to deal with the curiosity, he found himself voicing his thoughts, “Why not?”
She made a sound with her tongue, debating just how much she should tell him. If she had been sober she probably wouldn’t have said one more word, but there was alcohol running through her veins and that tended to make her speak more than she should.
“It would ruin our friendship,” she replied after a hot minute, not turning around to look at him.
“You like Luke?!”
She choked on her drink, bursting out laughing.
“What? No! Gross!”
She faced him and the serious look on his face only made her laugh more.
Luke?
God, no. He was like a brother. She’d bathed with him when they were toddlers, watched him eat boogers and chase around insects. She loved him with all her heart but it was purely platonic.
Once the laughter died down, she turned around to face him once more. Ricky looked like a lost puppy, eyebrows furred and nose scrunched up. It was adorable and she couldn’t help but letting out a mumble,
“Oh my God, you truly are an idiot.”
He looked like he was about to protest but she beat him to it this time. She’d been keeping this to herself for a long time and the fear of rejection seemed to evaporate with the alcohol. Many things could go wrong, she could potentially lose his friendship, but she wasn’t an overthinker when tipsy.
“I like you, dumbass.”
Ricky froze, as if he had expected everything but that.
He stayed quiet, processing what he had just heard.
The anxiety started to rise when a minute went by and he still hadn’t said a word.
“Ricky?” she asked, a tiny bit of fear laced in her voice.
It seemed as if her words snapped him out of whichever daze he was in. With a stunned look on his face, he managed to speak up, “You do?” He sounded as if he couldn’t quite believe what he was hearing.
“Yeah,” she responded in a soft manner. When he didn’t offer any other words and his eyebrows furrowed again she started to ramble, “Look, before you go on and tell me that you don’t like me and we should just stay friends I would like to say that— ”
His lips interrupted her midsentence.
The action took her by surprise but she kissed back without a thought. His hand went to cup her face, thumbs caressing her cheeks and she grabbed his biceps, trying to anchor herself to something, to him. She couldn’t quite believe this was happening. He was kissing her, she was kissing him. It felt as if time stopped for a moment and all that her mind could concentrate on was Ricky and only him.
Maybe, if he had thought about the possibility of this kiss ruining their friendship, he would’ve dropped his hand from her skin, he wouldn’t have pressed her closer to him. But he was slightly tipsy as well and he was optimistic by nature. He wanted this, he wanted her, with everything in his being.
Eventually they pulled away for air, foreheads resting against each other. She moved back first, searching his eyes and only finding bliss and adoration.
“So you like me too, huh?” she said, in an uncharacteristic shy and dazed way.
He couldn’t help but chuckle, his hands were still on her face and so he pulled her in for a forehead kiss. “I kiss you like that and you still ask me if I like you?”
She smiled, the kind of smile that brought him down to his knees, the one she always gave him when she wanted something from him.
“What do you want now?” he asked, amusement dancing around in his eyes.
“Wanna be my boyfriend? It’ll be for the rest of your life tops.”
Such a cheeky little thing she was.
He smiled, pressing a chaste kiss to her lips.
“I would love to.”
“Come on Ricky,” I whisper-yelled as we both walked through the dark forest.
“What are we even doing here?” He asked while trying not to fall or trip.
“Just relax and don’t ask questions,” I said, holding my hand out to him. He happily took it and we walked around the tree’s and over the grass.
“Are you going to kill me?” He asked suspicious and I quietly laughed at his attitude.
“Yes, Richard Bowen. I am, in fact going to kill you here out in the woods because I absolutely can’t stand you and really despise your absolute gorgeous face,” I said sarcastic and he stopped for a second.
“You think my face is gorgeous?” He asked and I just continued walking ignoring him completely.
We walked for another five minutes before we were at our destination. I looked to my left at his side profile and saw his eyes light up by the sight in front of us. It was a free landscape with a flower field around half of it.
I bit my lip, trying to push my foolish smile down, before pulling him behind me. We stood on the soft grass. It was a bright color of green that looked like cut out from a picture book. There weren’t any trees hovering over the patch of land, so you could perfectly see the night sky with all it’s stars shining and even the moon.
I put my backpack down and searched for the blanket I had inside of it. Laying it down on the grass and sitting on top of it, Ricky interlocked our hands while I looked up at the sky.
“It’s beautiful,” I said.
“Really beautiful,” He said and I looked at him just to see him already looking at me.
I understood what he meant by what he said and looked down with blushing cheeks and a cheeky smile covering my face. I really couldn’t stop smiling.
“What is it?” He asked his voice getting higher. The tone and change of his voice hinted his confusion. He had no idea what was happening with me in that moment.
“That was very cliche,” I pointed out and now he laughed as well.
“But it is true,” He said and I blushed even more.
He put his hand under my chin making me look up at him. His thumb slid over my cheek and his eyes were focused on my eyes before they slipped down to my lips for a second. He came closer and I did the same.
“All I wanna do is be with you. There’s nothing we can’t do. I just wanna be with you, only you.” He sang quietly before our lips connected.
It was soft and warm like the other times but now it felt more passionate. I felt him smile into it and I did the same, letting out a chuckle our lips left each other for a moment before he shushed me and put our lips together again.
“I like this place,” Ricky said, still holding me close to his body but his lips left mine.
“Me too,” I confirmed to him.
“Maybe it could be our place?” He suggested, lifting his eyebrows in hope of it not making his blush too obvious.
I, however, noticed the red color slowly creeping up his face and laughed at him. “I would like that,” I said. “I actually wanted to show you this earlier, but I was afraid you wouldn’t like it.”
“I like everything you show me.”
I started giggling at his odd behavior and knew that he was flirting. He never did it this openly but it was nice. It was really nice.
ricky bowen/fem!reader oneshot
fluff :)
summary: the musical has been casted and the cast list has been posted however when miss Jenn is in search for pianist Ricky Bowen your childhood best friend and secret crush insists that you push your fears aside and join the wildcats with putting on a musical.
warnings: mentions of divorce, sad ricky
“You do realize that auditioning for the musical means breaking out into song and dance in front of the entire school, right?” You laughed, while sitting down in between your two best friends Big Red and Ricky.
“Except this is my one chance to win back Nini, I need to prove to her that I’m serious about our relationship.” Ricky sighed as he turned his head towards the one thing he’s been avoiding all day.
“Why don’t you just try talking to her?” Big Red said while gesturing over towards the two lovebirds Ej Caswell and the one girl Ricky could confide in.
“No offense but the one person I go to for advice is currently on her honeymoon in the cafeteria.” Ricky pushed the rest of his lunch towards Big Red while grabbing his skateboard and storming off.
“At least I get the rest of his fries.” Big Red said before chugging down the rest of his soda.
You gave Big Red a small smile and handed him the rest of your chips. While getting up from the table and gathering your belongings out of the corner of your eye you see Kourtney staring back and forth between you and Nini. You were never really jealous of Ricky’s relationship with Nini because at least before she went off to camp they were oddly the perfect couple. You would never admit the feelings you had towards Ricky to anyone except maybe Big Red but only because he was becoming suspicious as to why you always agreed to everything Ricky had said or done.
The rest of the day seemed to pass by. You walked down the familiar hallway to your locker to grab things for the after school club your parents forced you to participate in. While walking back down towards the classroom you heard faint yelling coming from Mr. Mazzara’s room which you ultimately ignored thinking it was just the robotics team arguing over who gets to control the remote. But the last thing you expected to see was Ricky Bowen bolting past you towards the theater.
“He’s really going to audition.” You said to yourself shocked. Not wanting to be distracted by the thought of Ricky trying to impress Nini you continued to walk to the classroom you should have already been at ten minutes ago.
Instead of actually paying any attention to the club you signed up for, you found yourself reading over your music sheets so you could practice the new song you were learning on the piano when you got home.
Wanting to go home a bit earlier than the actual time your after school club ended you made up an excuse and started gathering everything into your already heavy backpack. While walking out of the classroom you couldn’t help but be distracted by the commotion coming from down the hall.
“What’s going on?” You asked approaching Big Red as he stood there with nothing but a shocked expression on his face.
“Your crush, our best friend just scored the lead in the play with no acting experience whatsoever.” Big Red announced to you with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen on him.
“Okay first of all lower your voice, second of all how?” You questioned while laughing. Walking over to the cast list taped to the wall you see Ricky Bowen written in all caps playing Troy Bolton. While you were incredibly happy for him below his name was Nini’s also in all caps playing Gabriella.
You congratulated Ricky and gave a small smile to Nini seeing that she was obviously frustrated with the whole situation. You couldn’t blame her though she seems happy being in a relationship with Ej and doesn’t want anything or certainly anyone ruining it for her.
It’s been a few days since Miss Jenn posted the cast list and since then Ricky has been practicing non stop. On the other hand Big Red had gotten stuck reading stage directions for Miss Jenn. Having both of your best friends being so busy spending time with the drama club meant that you had way too much time on your hands which led to feeling a bit lonely.
Instead of heading home for the day you thought it would be nice to sit in the music room and play the piano for a little while. Feeling lonely at school felt a little less lonely than sitting all alone at home, if that made any sense.
“Hey Y/n.” Of course the one boy you’ve purposely been avoiding wants to interrupt your peaceful piano playing. Instead of saying some sarcastic comeback to him you look up from the piano keys to see that instead of his normally happy go lucky smile he was upset.
“What’s wrong Ricky?” he gently sat down beside you on the piano bench without making any eye contact. Instead of forcing him to talk you turned back to the piano keys and started playing little soft tunes instead of having to sit there in silence. You knew he’d been having a hard time at home due to his mother leaving his dad and moving away to Chicago.
“Nina is in love with Ej.” he admits out of the blue while nervously tracing his finger along the keys of the piano.
You stopped playing for a second to collect your thoughts. You have never actually heard him call her Nina. It was like he was speaking a foreign language. You wanted to comfort him and tell him that everything would be okay but you were at a loss of words and when you tried to speak nothing came out.
“But I’m okay with that, it hurt at first watching her fall in love with Ej but she’s happy and I don’t want to ruin that for her.” Ricky spoke in a soft tone almost as if he had lost his voice. Before you could speak he cut you off again.
“At first I auditioned so I could show her that I was serious about our relationship and maybe that was a stupid move but now I realized that a part of me also did this for myself.” You smiled to yourself knowing that Ricky finally found something he’s passionate about.
“So why are you sitting here with me right now instead of up on that stage practicing?” You asked while turning to face him. He pressed his fingers down on the piano and started playing random keys, which sounded awful together.
“Because Miss Jenn doesn’t have anyone to play piano for us, Ashlyn is focused on making sure Ms. Darbus’s solo is perfect.” Secretly hoping he isn’t about to ask you to play piano in front of everyone you start putting your music sheets into your folder and shoving it quickly into your backpack.
“Y/n can you please play the piano for us just for rehearsal?” Already preparing to say no you look down at your shoes.
“Ricky-”
“Please Y/n, just this one time?” He’s not going to stop until you agree to play.
“I know you know the songs you used to watch high school musical on repeat.” Ricky continued to ask you to play the piano. Feeling bad you finally give in and say yes even though deep down you really don’t want to do this.
Following closely behind Ricky down the hallway towards the theater was the last thing you thought you’d ever be doing today. You had secretly been wishing in your head that you had gone home right after school today.
“You okay Y/n?” Ricky stopped walking and turned to face you.
“Yeah I’m alright, just nervous.” You tried giving him a smile but he could tell you were really anxious about playing the piano in front of anyone that wasn’t him or Big Red.
“We can practice alone first in front of Miss Jenn, I’m sure everyone else is busy doing something.” Ricky spoke in a soft loving tone to try and calm your nerves. You only gave him a forced smile as you continued walking towards the theater.
As you both stepped foot in the theater Ricky called out for Miss Jenn just for her to randomly pop out from around the corner.
“Ricky you're finally back” Miss Jenn said while clapping her hands together.
“I found someone to play the piano for us, but is it cool if we could just practice in front of you for now? She’s a bit nervous.” Ricky asked only to receive a nod from Miss Jenn.
“Yes of course we could do that. What is your name sweetheart?” Miss Jenn asked, approaching you with a hug.
“Y/n” You said quietly and accepted her hug. She waved and motioned for the two of you to follow her.
As she brought you guys over to the piano you could start to feel your heart race until you felt a familiar hand start tracing circles on your back. You tried your best to keep your composure but to actually be this close to Ricky in the moment it just felt right. But you knew he didn’t feel the same way you did, not after just recently getting over Nini.
“Here’s the sheet music for ‘Start of Something New’ don’t be nervous there's no judging here. This is a safe space sweetheart.” Miss Jenn told you.
You set the papers down in front of you quickly looking over the notes and preparing yourself. You felt Ricky sit down next to you and quickly put his hand back on your lower back. As you started playing the song Ricky quickly started singing.
‘Livin’ in my own world’
‘Didn’t understand’
‘That anything can happen’
‘When you take a chance’
You continued playing the song until it eventually came to an end. You could feel Ricky staring at you but interrupting the sweet moment Miss Jenn applauded the two of you.
“Have you ever thought about being in a musical sweetheart? Because you have the talent for it.” Miss Jenn stated while grinning ear to ear.
“Oh, no I don’t really sing or dance or act for a matter of fact.” You said nervously just wanting this conversation to end right at that very moment.
“How would you feel about playing Kelsi? We need someone as talented as you are to go on for her and play the piano.” As much as you wanted to say no the expression on Ricky’s face wouldn’t allow you to.
They both stared at you for what felt like hours you had no choice other than to say yes. You also didn’t want to crush Ricky’s heart by saying no. And it seemed like Miss Jenn really needs your help with this.
“Sure I’ll play Kelsi and help out at rehearsals with the piano.” You said quietly almost instantly regretting what you had just said.
You turned back around to face Ricky and were greeted with the biggest hug he’s ever given you. Not wanting to interrupt the moment Miss Jenn walked out to the rest of the theater kids to make sure they were doing what they were supposed to be doing.
“I’m so proud of you!” Ricky yelled while you shushed him.
“No really I am Y/n, you just faced one of your biggest fears and now you’re in the musical with me.” You couldn’t help but think now all the time you’re going to have to spend with Ricky playing the piano. The thought of getting to spend time with the person that I love while doing the thing I love the most made you instantly feel butterflies.
“Thank you for pushing me Ricky. Now let’s hope I can handle it and not get stage fright.” You said as you turned back to the piano to gather all of the sheet music for the songs you now need to learn and practice.
You introduced yourself to the rest of the drama club minus the people who already knew who you were due to your friendships with Big Red and Ricky. Everyone welcomed you with open arms and you couldn’t have felt more comfortable around any group of people before. After many rehearsals you had made many new friends and eventually grew even closer to Ricky.
You’ve been practicing all of the songs that Kelsi performs during the musical. Your parents are incredibly proud of you for coming out of your shell and finally showing your talent off. You have no distractions getting in your way except for one, Ricky Bowen.
Big Red continued to tease you about your crush on Ricky every single day insisting on the fact that he feels the same way. You didn’t want to risk your friendship with Ricky just in case it didn’t work out between the two of you. Ricky’s past relationship with Nini is a big part in making you afraid over nothing. Even though he and Nini were total opposites they just were a perfect couple but despite everything they didn’t work out in the end and they barely talk to each other anymore. That is what you were afraid of, losing him.
Many weeks had gone by with a lot of things all happening at once. Ricky would compliment you here and there and maybe you two would share a moment every once and a while but you always just brushed it off and thought of it as him just being a good friend.
It was finally opening night, the night everyone had been working so hard for. Despite the anxiety building up inside of you you knew you couldn’t quit or give up now it was too late for that. So instead you went to find the one person you trust only to find out that Ej had gone on for him during act two and nobody could find Ricky. You knew you couldn’t run around and look for him knowing you had scenes in the musical with nobody to go on for you. As you took a deep breath you walked over to the piano to start playing ‘Breaking Free’. In your head you knew Ricky should be here on stage singing not Ej you couldn’t help but wonder where he was.
After the musical was over and everyone exited the stage you approached Ej to confront him about Ricky.
“He wanted me to go on for him Y/n. I don’t know what happened but he insisted that I would go on as Troy.” Ej explained to you. You knew Ej wouldn’t lie to you as everyone had grown a close bond over these past couple of weeks.
Carlos and Seb walked and noticed how upset you were.
“He’s in the rehearsal room Y/n” Carlos spoke with a gentle tone. You thanked them and walked down to the rehearsal room.
You quietly opened the door and shut it behind you.
“Ricky, What's going on? What happened?” You asked while taking a seat next to him. He didn’t say a word all he did was pull you closer into a hug and quietly sobbed. You've never seen Ricky cry but you knew instead of questioning him you needed to comfort him. As much as you tried to put your feelings aside for just a moment you couldn’t help but think about the way he held onto you but that didn’t last long as he stood up and started apologizing for seeming weak and crying in front of you.
“You don’t have to apologize for crying Ricky, it’s okay” You said as you stood up and walked closer towards him.
“My mom brought her boyfriend here and when I saw him put his arm around her I didn’t know how to feel. Why would she think it’s okay to bring him around? I thought that this would be an opportunity for her to talk with my dad.” Ricky said while holding back his tears because he didn’t want to cry in front of you again.
“You know it’s okay to feel that way and it’s okay to cry. You’re allowed to be mad at your mother. She should have asked if it was okay to bring him.” You said as you tried your best to be strong for him.
“She said she wanted me to meet him” Ricky repeated what his mother had previously said to him as he looked down at his shoes.
“But you should be the one to decide when you want to meet him, not her. She should have asked for your permission to bring him. She’s the one who messed up, not you Ricky.” You said as you crossed your arms hoping that he would agree with you.
“This is why I love you.” Ricky admitted looking back up at you. Taken back a bit you were once again at a loss of words in front of Ricky Bowen.
“It’s okay if you don’t feel the same way, but I love you Y/n.” He said once again. Not wanting to mess this moment up you walked over to him and pulled him into a tight hug.
“I love you too, Ricky.”
As you looked back up to him he smiled down at you. His hand gently gripped your chin as he leaned in but before doing anything he asked.
“Can I kiss you?” and without even having to think for a second you replied with a yes.
He gently pressed his soft lips against yours and you instantly felt the feeling of butterflies all over again. You placed your hand on his cheek as you slowly rubbed your thumb against it as you pulled away from him.
“If you want you can stay with me tonight, so you don’t have to be at home.” You said trying your best not to kill the mood but you wanted to make sure he had a place to sleep in case he didn’t want to face his mom tonight.
“Thank you Y/n, I appreciate it so much.” He replied back pulling you into a tight hug. Not ever wanting to pull away you laughed and said
“Come on we're going to be late to slices, don’t want Big Red getting suspicious of anything.” You said as he grabbed your hand and walked outside to join the rest of the wildcats for a well deserved after party at slices.
It Just Happened ~ Ricky Bowen X Reader
Summary: (You are aged up in this) You and Ricky have been friends since you were young, and you have a light crush on him. One day when he comes over, things get juicy.
Warnings: Cussing, fluff, alcohol, light smut.
Pairing: Ricky Bowen X Female reader (you can change it if you'd like).
-----------------
"I'm bored." says Jenna, my friend since first grade. I sat down next to her, "What do you wanna do?"
"I don't know. Should we invite more people? There's nothing to do. And omg it's a great day outside." says Jenna
"Okay, I'll call Ricky." I say
"The one you kinda like?" asks Jenna
"... How do you know that?" I ask
"Your face lit up when you said Ricky."
"Well... Okay, maybe I kinda like him. But that doesn't mean I won't hang out with you."
Jenna laughs, "Come on. I'll leave, I have things to do anyway. Have fun with your boyfriend."
"Jenna..." I say
"Y/nnnnn..." says Jenna
"Stayyy." I say
"No, I will be leaving, and youu are gonna thank me and that's that! Now byeeeee!" she says and leaves before I can say anything. Well, alright then.
"Fine. Love you!" I say
"Love you, too!" she screams back. Then I call Ricky after asking my mom if he can come over, which she says he's always welcome.
"Hey, Y/n/n. What's up?" he picks up
"Hey, Ricky. Wanna come over?" I ask
"What if I'm not in Salt Lake?"
"Ricky, we both know you are, I saw you two days ago." I say
"What if I moved away?"
"You didn't."
I hear him chuckle, "Alright, fine. I'm coming give me... 10 minutes."
"Alright, byeee!" I say, then hang up.
-----------------
After 10 minutes I hear the doorbell ring. I open it to see Ricky with a grin on his face.
"Heyy, come on in!" I say, and we go to the living room.
"How've you been?" he asks
"I've been, okay. You?" I ask
"Same here. I miss being drunk though." he says, we used to go to parties and drink almost every week. Then high school was over and we both just decided to get a job and not go to college yet.
"How long has it been since you last drank?" I ask
"Eh. About a month." he says
"Wow... How did you survive?" I ask
"I just did..." he says, then sees an alcohol bottle on one of the tables that my brother just forgot to put away after his 'experiment'... Don't ask, "Ooo!" he tries to grab the bottle and opens it, but I stop him before he does.
"Ricky, no." I say, and grab the bottle away from him, kind of spilling it.
"What? I was just gonna drink a little bit." he says
"I don't care. Don't drink right now." I say, as I grab a towel to clean the mess Ricky made me do.
"Fine." he says as he watches me clean it. After I'm done cleaning the table, I clean the bottle as well in case it spilled on it. As I close the cap and make sure it's tight I feel Ricky put his head on my shoulder, and his arms around my waist, "Whatchu doing?" I try and hide my blush.
"Hm, you're warm." he says in a childish voice.
"Alright." I say, "I need to put the bottle away, though."
"Just put it on the table where you found it." he says, I guess it makes sense. My brother needs to learn to clean after himself anyway.
"Alright, fine." I say putting the bottle back on the table. That's when I realized that Ricky smelled... Different. Is he wearing cologne?
"Hey, when did you start wearing cologne--" I started as I turned around but got cut off by his lips smashing on mine. His arms never leaving my waist.
I pull away, "Are you sure you're not drunk..?"
"Yeah." he says, as he kisses me again. I don't say anything, just kiss back and put my arms around his neck.
I feel him sit down on the couch and get me on his lap as he pulls me closer. He pulls me so close that... Omg... I can feel it. I can feel his... Uh... You know...
It's getting harder by the second. He starts to kiss down my neck which gives me a chance to speak, "Ricky, what's gotten into you?"
"Do you know how hot you look right now?" he asks, stopping and looking at me. What does he mean? I'm just wearing a little oversized t-shirt and shorts.
"I'm just wearing a t-shirt." I chuckle
"Well, you always look hot to me anyway." he says. Is he really sure he isn't drunk?
"No, Y/n. I'm not drunk." he says, shit, did I say that out loud?
"No, you didn't say it out loud, I just know what you're thinking." he says, I mean true he's known me since first grade.
"Exactly." he says
"Okay, stop reading my thoughts." I say as I reposition myself on his lap because I was kind of crooked. He pulls me closer as I do so.
"Ricky, I don't know if you're in the right mind. You may not be drunk, but you're not thinking straight." I say
"I am. Y/n, I've liked you since... I don't even know, it's been a while. But you haven't paid attention to me at all, so I tried to date Alyssa and other girls to distract myself but they never got me the way you did. The way you do. The only reason I tried something today was because Jenna told me you kinda like me." he says
"Jenna said what?" I ask
He chuckles, "Was she right? I-is she right?"
I look him in the eyes trying to pull a prank on him. His slight smile faded, "Oh... Well, alright then. Sorry." he said as he tried to get up.
Then I smirk, "She's right. Don't worry." then I kissed him again, making him moan. I felt him harden even more under me, and he pulled me closer, grinding me on him.
"Want to take this upstairs?" he asks
I smirk, "Sure."
-----------------
The second we enter my room he closes the door and locks it, pinning me against the wall and pulling me close as he kisses me. My hands travel around his neck, then as one hand stays there just tugging on his hair, the other travels down to his chest, to his waist, and then I grab his crotch. I just feel how hard it is for a second and make a memory of its shape. He groans and pushes me on the bed, pinning my arms above me.
He kisses me again, grinding onto me making the both of us moan. I take off his shirt as he takes off mine. I take a moment to look at his abs, holy shit they're insane. I feel them as he kisses my chest after a moment of looking at them with lust.
His kisses trail down to my stomach, and to my thighs, before he gets to that one spot, he looks up at me asking for permission. But I smirked and flipped us around, "You've had your fun. Now, it's my turn."
He smirks as I started to kiss him again, then start to kiss his neck.
"That's too bad. I wanted to taste you." he groans.
"You'll taste me some other day." I say as I start trailing kisses down his stomach, feeling his strong muscles, and then stop as I come across his boxers. I look up to him for permission to take them off, but he just smirks and flips us around like I did to him, "Some other time, babe."
His hand then reaches into my panties, and starts drawing circles on my clit, "Wow... All this for me?"
I chuckle, "Looks like it." he then inserts a finger in me, causing me to moan as he moves his finger in and out, then inserting another one.
"Ricky..." I say
"Hm?" he says
"I need you." I say
"Need me to do what?" he smirks
"I need you inside me." I say
"As you wish." he says, then takes off his boxers, revealing his hard and red member. Without a second thought, he positions his member to my entrance, and slides it in.
It doesn't hurt as much, because I was really horny and wet. But I've heard that normally it does hurt if this is your first time.
"Holy shit. You're so tight. How are you so tight?" asks Ricky.
"Cause this is my first time." I say, trying not to moan.
"Same here." he says
"Really?" I ask surprised.
"Yeah. Why are you so surprised?" he asks
"I don't know. I mean, look at you..." I say
"Aww, you're too cute. I wouldn't rather do this with anyone but you." he says, as he gets faster. And faster. And even faster.
My hands dig into my back, moans fill the room. And after a while we both release as Ricky pulls out.
"Holy... Fuck..." he says while catching his breath.
"Indeed..." I say, he looks at me, "Please tell me we're dating now."
I smirk, "We are."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
Tumblr media
the camera man sends you a sympathetic smile as you sit alone in a stool. the room feels desolate although a small crew frantically scurries along the edges of the room, ensuring nothing is out of place.
[what did you love most about each other?]
you: oh gosh
ricky: is it really that hard to think of something
you: no that’s not it
ricky:
you: your eyes would shine and your smile was so big
ricky:
you: and you’d ramble on and on about the most trivial things
ricky:
you: but they were important to you and that made them important to me
ricky:
you: it felt nice to know that you wanted to tell me everything. it was easy to love you
ricky:
you: are you okay
ricky: i was always worried i was being annoying
you: you never annoyed me
——————
ricky: i loved your duality
you: i didn’t think you knew what that word meant
ricky: oh shut up
you: also, huh
ricky: well, if you’d let me explain
ricky: you made me want to talk to you, but i also wanted to listen and know everything about you
you:
ricky: you could match my energy and calm me down too
you:
ricky: and you were funny
you:
ricky: we would stay up laughing for hours and we’d always have to cover each other’s mouths to not wake up the neighbors
you: i should’ve mentioned that i loved how you made me laugh
ricky: i am pretty funny
you: and so humble too
ricky:
you:
ricky:
you: why are you looking at me like that
ricky: i love your laugh
you: you said love, not loved
ricky: i know
Tumblr media
[what did you hate most about each other?]
ricky:
you: it’s ok, ricky
ricky: almost everything about you was perfect to me
you: emphasis on almost. go ahead
ricky: i hated how you left
you:
ricky: not even that you left but you didn’t let me go with you
you: ricky-
ricky: you made that decision for me without even asking how i felt. you just decided for both of us and left without looking back
ricky: you did that a lot actually but i never thought it would end with you leaving
you: i’m sorry, i just wanted the best for you
ricky: i know, it’s ok
———————
ricky: your turn
you: i don’t know what to say
ricky: oh come on, there had to be something
you: i was so in love with you, all of you
ricky: there had to be at least one major flaw to make you leave
you: i didn’t want to leave you, ricky
ricky: then why did you?
———————
you: i hated how indecisive you used to be
ricky: i can’t decide how i feel about that
you:
ricky:
you: i’m so done with you
ricky: don’t act like i can’t see that smile
you: anyway, as i was saying
you: you could never make a choice from what you wanted for dinner to even whether or not we should actually date. it felt like i was responsible for maintaining this relationship, i guess that’s why i always needed to make the decisions
ricky: i never thought about that, i’m sorry
you: i know, it’s ok
Tumblr media
[do you think you could try again?]
you: yes
Midnight Study Session
Summary: Overworking yourself with studying, Ricky finally intervenes when he finds you studying at midnight.  Ship: Ricky Bowen x Reader Words:750 (roughly)
Tumblr media
Getting up in the middle of the night to study probably wasn’t your best plan, especially when you left your boyfriend in bed, still sleeping. You couldn’t help it though, you couldn’t sleep, being overrun with worry for an upcoming test in a subject you weren’t good at.
Ricky, your boyfriend, had noticed that you hadn’t really relaxed in the past week and had pulled you away earlier in the evening from studying. Making you eat a proper meal and watch a movie with him before you both went to bed. Ricky had quickly fallen asleep but you? You couldn’t. All you could think about was that damned test.
That led you to this moment, your boyfriend still snuggled up in bed and you, haphazardly writing down notes. Most of the paper you had been writing on were crumpled or folded, the other ones having notes written in all sort of directions, just wherever there was space on the page.
The only thing you could hear in the room was the scribbled that you continued to write down and the soft snores escaping your adorable boyfriend.
Ricky turned over with a groan, going to place an arm across you and cuddle into your side but he was met with a space in the bed. At first he was confused but he was immediately snapped out of his sleep-induced state and his head shot up. He sighed, his worry simmering down as he looked over at you, hunched over and scribbling down notes, your tongue slightly sticking out of your mouth in a state of concentration and a small piece of your study lamp lighting up your face.
He sat up, getting out of bed as he slowly placed a hand on your shoulder gently, causing your attention to be averted from studying. Ricky frowned upon seeing your face, your sunken eyes, disheveled hair.
“C’mon y/n you can’t study at,” He said, turning to gaze at the alarm clock that displayed the time in big green numbers on your bedside table, “half twelve.”
“But Ricky I have so much studying to do jus-” You protested with a small whine as you looked at your boyfriend, who cut you off quickly.
“No y/n, let's go get you cleaned up, and then let's get back to bed.” Ricky said, leading you off of the desk chair as he turned your lamp off, taking you into the bathroom, “you wanna jump into the shower?”
You just nodded your head in return as Ricky spoke again, “I’ll go get you a towel and clothes, you go ahead.”
You nodded in return as Ricky walked out, going to collect a towel and a big t-shirt of his along with a pair of underwear and fluffy socks of yours. He put them on the top of your laundry basket before exiting the bathroom again, noting that you were in the shower already.
He quickly got to work with hiding your notebooks and study things. He knew that if he left them out there you would still get up and study after Ricky fell asleep again, he just wanted you to sleep well tonight.
About ten minutes later you exited the bathroom, your hair slightly frizzy from towel drying it so it wasn’t dripping wet but still slightly damp. Ricky signaled for you to get into bed and you passed your desk, whining as you spoke, “Ricky, where did you put my study stuff?”
“I’ll give them back tomorrow morning, you won’t need them when you’re sleeping anyway, will you?” Ricky spoke with a small smile as you gave him a put, climbing into bed with him.
He threw his arms over you, your chests touching and your face buried into the nape of his neck. One of Ricky’s hands rubbed over your back in small patterns, instantly relaxing you. It was something that had relaxed you since you were a young child. Ricky placed a soft kiss against the crown of your head, your hair tickling his chin as he mumbled, his voice deeper than usual due to him being tired, “Goodnight y/n, I love you.”
“I love you too.” You spoke into his neck, cuddling closer to the boy comfortably.
A comfortable silence grew between you two, your legs intertwined with Ricky’s as he continued to rub your back. Slowly, Ricky’s slowed breaths lulled you into a sleep, enjoying the warmth of his body against yours. That night, you had the best sleep you had had for weeks.
Tumblr media
You and Gina practically raced out the door when you heard the honk of a car door. It was time for summer camp. The only thing better about Camp Shallow Lake this year, aside from the fact EJ actually knew who you were now, was the fact that others were coming. You got into the empty seat in the back of EJ’s mini-van. Gina got into the empty passenger’s seat— she and EJ finally admitted they did have feelings for each other and decided to start dating. It was you, EJ, Ashlyn, Kourtney, Gina, and Carlos. Everyone else had other plans. Big Red was working, Nini was taking a music trip to LA, Ricky was… You actually didn’t know what Ricky was doing.
Something about him seemed distant lately. Not just lately. When you thought about it, Ricky had been acting strange ever since the skate park. He didn’t come over as often for breakfast. Usually most physical contact was initiated by you. He got frantic and stuttered a lot when you asked him about certain things. You tried not to think about that as the car pulled into the campgrounds. This was your summer before senior year and you were supposed to be all about having fun at Camp Shallow Lake.
You and EJ excitedly jumped out the car when he finally parked. The others were a bit slow to get out. The two of you had certainly done a good job of hyping the camp up. It didn’t help that even though she wasn’t going to be there Nini also had nothing but great things to say about the place. EJ adjusted his luggage in his hand.
“Come on y’all, we’ll show you around. I came to this camp as an athlete and became an athlete-actor. Y/N?”
“I came a dancer-actor and became an actor-dancer.”
Your friends chuckled at the joke.
“Are those Wildcats I see?!”
Everyone turned at the voice. A very familiar girl came up the small hill with a wagon full of Shallow Lake stuff. The wheels rolled to a slow stop as she went to give you and EJ a hug.
“What up, Rocketman? Sanderson?”
“Hi, Gadget,” EJ said loudly while you said it quietly.
Kourt tilted her head. “Who are Rocketman and Sanderson?”
“Camp nicknames,” EJ explained. “Everyone gets one before their first year at camp is up.”
Gina nodded. “Okay, Rocketman seems pretty obvious. Sanderson?”
“First year here, the only time she ever talked past reading a script was when we played Hocus Pocus for movie night. The name practically fell into her lap.”
Carlos sighed. “This is nice and all but we’ve only been here five minutes and I already miss Seb.”
You and EJ rolled your eyes. It was fine to miss Seb but it really had only been five minutes since you got to camp. It also would have been fine but it was just Carlos missing their partner. It was also Ashlyn and Kourtney. Wait till they found out that texting each other wasn’t going to be an option. Right on schedule, Maddox brought out the electronics bucket. You and EJ dropped your phones in without a care, having done this a million times before. The others took a bit more convincing.
“Oh, wait.” You reached back into the bucket. “I just want to check my email one more time.”
“She’s been obsessively checking every hour on the hour for weeks now,” Gina said.
“They said that I could get the message at any time. Oh, I should also text Ricky.”
While you, EJ, and Maddox were trying to convince your friends that giving up their phones for a couple of weeks wasn’t going to kill them, Ricky was bored out of his mind waiting for Lily to finish packing for their vacation. They were going to Jackson Hole, a place with lots of big lake houses. He didn’t tell anybody when you guys asked why he wasn’t going to Shallow Lake because he knew most of the cast would freak about him interacting with the “enemy.” Howie was fine— but he was the only North High cast member allowed. Lily was definitely not on anyone’s potential friend list. But Ricky was with her because he couldn’t be with you.
He had been distancing himself ever since the skate park. The way you were clutching his hands as you balanced on his skateboard and the smile you gave him when you finally moved like two feet away without falling got him worse than he thought. Ricky realized that night that he was going to have an issue being just friends without having some time and space first. If only you had told him sooner that you used to like him, or maybe if he never went back to Nini. So he couldn’t go to Camp Shallow Lake with you and he couldn’t go to your grandparents house afterwards with you and Gina. Instead, he was face down on Lily’s bed while she ran around looking for stuff.
“Richie, have you seen the cocoa butter?”
“Try the fridge.”
“It’s a skincare.”
“Well it sounds delicious… Are we ready to go?”
“Right after we do a couple more TikToks.”
He tried not to sigh as he got up. Lily was a very social media friendly girl— she insisted she wasn’t at influencer status yet for him to call her one. Ricky didn’t mind her constantly taking pictures or waiting a little bit for her to stage their plates at cafes for perfect pictures. But he did have a dislike for being forced to do every single TikTok challenge that she stumbled upon. It might not have been a problem if she seemed like she wanted to just do it with him for fun. But the way he had to get it perfect, it was obvious that it was just a social media thing. He did the ones that she wanted and then waited for her to finish editing them. Ricky just sat on the floor, back against the bed.
“Okay, finished. Let’s hit the road.”
“Really?” He asked with hope.
“Really. Hey, I know you’re taking a leap of faith going to the lake with me instead of your big summer camp thing. And I don’t take that lightly.”
“I don’t either.”
“Okay, let’s go.”
“Sure, just let me find my keys.”
“I think you dropped it by my closet?”
Lily started to get her bags while Ricky looked where she said. It wasn’t right in the doorway of the closet. He patted himself down just to make sure that he didn’t have them on him. Maybe they were behind the closet door? A small squeak left his mouth as he moved the closet door, causing all the bags on the hooks to fall off. A few hit his back on the way down. He did find his keys but now he had a mess to clean. Ricky’s hand froze as he picked up something that wasn’t a purse or a backpack.
“How did you get my beast harness?” He didn’t really need an answer. He was just curious about how Lily would respond.
“Come on Richie—”
“Ricky.”
“All’s fair in love and war and musicals, right? Zacky Roy taught us that.”
Ricky scoffed. He threw his harness down on the floor. Barely giving Lily a goodbye, Ricky left her house. His car sped away and he just kept driving with no idea of what to do. He pulled up to an area where he could just look out at the city. Why did nothing seem to go just right for him? Getting out of the car, Ricky sat on the hood of it and looked out at the landscape. Taking in a few deep breaths, he began to think. His dad was on vacation with Ms. Jenn— he was somewhat used to them dating now. He could go see his mom? But he was already supposed to go later on right before school started again.
The buzzing in his back pocket brought him out of his thoughts. Ricky took out his phone to see a text from you. It was a selfie with you and the others along with a message that you hoped he had a good time wherever he was and you wouldn’t be able to text him for the time you were at camp. The corners of his mouth pulled up as he looked at the picture. Ricky got back in his car with a both brilliant and stupid idea.
You got into your cabin with the other girls. It was The Honeycomb Cabin— a room that you and Maddox had shared since you guys’ first year at camp. A lot of campers came and went but you two in Honeycomb were a constant. You always liked this cabin the best. It had a cuter sitting area with chairs that weren’t worn down. The beds were all nice quality and the mattresses weren’t that bad.
“And our boys are in Yurt Locker which is two cabins behind us. This is pretty much the whole space. Choose a bunk and unpack.”
“This is serious lack of privacy,” Kourtney muttered as she put her stuff on one of the bottom bunks.
“There are bed curtains in that locker if you want some.” You pointed to the shelving unit made of little yellow lockers.
You put your stuff on the bottom bunk of the middle bunk bed, Ashlyn taking the top part. Gina took the top bunk of the bed right next to it where Kourtney had chosen the bottom.
“Can I say…” Kourtney started as she made her bed. “You and EJ talked a very big game about this place. I was expecting a Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton.”
“Yeah, he gets so excited talking about camp,” Ashlyn agreed. “I would’ve joined him but I always go LARPing in Minnesota.”
Kourtney and Gina looked at each other, having no clue what she was talking about. Ashlyn tried explaining it but quickly gave up when the looks on their faces didn’t change. The other two girls, one being Maddox, came into the cabin to unpack their own stuff. She gave you a high-five as she passed you on the way to her bed on the other wall. Gina sat down next to you.
“I thought you said you had no friends last year.”
“Oh, we’re not friends,” you and Maddox said at the same time.
She laughed when neither one of you offered more explanation despite everyone’s looks. Maddox simply threw an arm over your shoulder as you all walked towards the bonfire area for the first day of camp announcements. Everyone was busing because some celebrity was supposed to be showing up. You plopped yourself next to Kourtney and Carlos when you arrived. They kept speculating about who it was.
In between guesses that ranged from drag queens to real housewives, they discussed how to make camp classier. Their two person Finer Things Club was about to meet Camp Shallow Lake. You would have joined their club but the three of you realized that you were just a girly girl. While you might have driven a cream colored convertible mini cooper, you were more of a cottagecore girl according to Kourtney, whatever that meant. You realized the Finer Things Club wasn’t quite your type of finer things when the two of them showed up on the last day of school with matching velour jumpsuits.
No matter what you guys guessed, absolutely no one was expecting Corbin Bleu. The cheers for the man were near deafening. You couldn’t believe that The Corbin Bleu was at your camp. And with a camera man? Did that guy follow him everywhere? Corbin jumped up on the platform and took the mic from the head of the camp, Dewy.
“I am ecstatic to be here at Shallow Lake! And I can’t wait to let you know what we have planned for you campers this summer. My pals at the House of Mouse decided that we needed something special to celebrate bringing one of everybody’s favorite characters from the big screen to the… well, small stage. I’m proud to announce that you guys will be the first group of kids ever to put on Disney’s Frozen Jr. And to celebrate our lovely movie making its junior theatre debut we will be filming the entire process and premiering it on Disney Plus.”
You guys didn’t hear whatever else Corbin had to say. You guys were doing Frozen and it was going to be broadcasted to the world. This was possibly the best thing that could happen to any of you. There was a chance to get noticed or just jumpstart a career. Then you thought about the documentary. It wasn’t filming only when you guys would be on stage. It was filming all the time. That meant you had to be Y/N, not a character. Breaking the internet as Clara— which you didn’t— was one thing, potentially breaking the internet as Y/N L/N was an entirely different matter. Nerves started to set in as you tried to recall any of your therapist’s words that could help you in the current situation.
“And I heard there were some relative Wildcats out there. I look forward to singing headshots for you all summer.”
You tilted your head. That wasn’t exactly what you thought he would say. Still, an autograph would be cool. You once got an autograph from Viola Davis because she was eating at your sister’s restaurant during a time when you were visiting.
“Alright, see all you lovelies later. Corbin, out.”
The night was alive as you all stayed up and talked about the show. Even inside your cabin, none of you could stay quiet long enough to get any proper sleep. You couldn’t get sleep because you were thinking about what Gina had told you just before she turned off the lantern by her bed. She had gone to find EJ who left to find Dewy who tried to find Corbin right after the bonfire and musical announcement. She did find EJ but she also apparently came back with a surprise for you. The surprise had to wait until morning per Gina’s arbitrary rules.
She woke you up early in the morning— although not much earlier than Maddox’s bugle alarm which would probably start any minute now— and instructed you to leave the cabin with her. Gina didn’t even care that you only brushed your teeth. There was no changing out of pajamas, you had to go see your surprise. She left you outside the boys’ cabin and headed for the theater that you guys had named The Barn— it was in fact a renovated barn— where EJ was supposed to be waiting for her with a mug of coffee.
You gave a small wave to Carlos who wasn’t in his bed and was on the top bunk right above his. You understood as he held a face steamer up. The top bunks had the better placed outlets. You were surprised that whoever was sleeping on the top bunk hadn’t woken up at all by the disturbance Carlos was causing.
“Morning.”
“Morning, Gina said I have a surprise in here?” You sat on one of the stools in the boys’ sitting area of their cabin, picking up a random book.
“Nothing like waking up to a face full of steam,” a groggy voice said as they slightly turned and sat up in bed.
Carlos looked at Ricky with wide eyes. He nudged his head in your direction while frantically tapping his friend’s leg. With a confused face, Ricky looked over. He snapped into action when he noticed it was you. Before he could say good morning, you jumped out of your seat and ran to the top bunk right in front of you.
“You’re at camp?”
Jett groggily got himself out of bed and gave you a hug.
“Wait, are you the camper creeping everyone out?”
“Whatever happened to good morning, Y/N/N?”
“Morning, Jett. Are you making friends?”
“You’re talking to me about friends?” He laughed when you shrugged. “So, where can I get breakfast?”
You left with Jett to show him where to get breakfast before heading back to your own cabin to get changed. Ricky looked at Carlos before flopping back onto his bed. He got up to get ready for the day which included auditions. Honestly, Ricky knew absolutely nothing about Frozen. He wasn’t even fully sure of the two guys’ main names. But he would still give it his all at auditions. Performing was something he found out that he really liked. Dare he say, he liked it more than being a skate rat.
Your favorite part of being in the artsy sect of Camp Shallow Lake was dressing in cute stuff. You didn’t have to worry about everything being covered in dirt and dust and mud. Of course, you had working overalls for the garden part of Shallow Lake but for the most part you stayed relatively clean at camp. You were glad to have packed the way you did because auditioning for Corbin required a stellar outfit. You didn’t tell anyone but you were hoping for a lead. You were always hoping for a lead. All the good seniors graduated camp last year so that competition was gone.
But now you had Gina, Kourtney, and Ashlyn to compete with. You loved your friends to death but it would be nice to be recognized just once by your peers for your talent. A small part of you was starting to think the universe was against you in that aspect. You finished applying your lipgloss and went to go slip on your lucky legwarmers.
“I’m ready to go for gold at auditions today,” Gina said as she finished dressing. “I’m finally ready to play the lead. No prisoners, no apologies!”
Ashlyn’s face scrunched up. “Sounds like you brought Gina 1.0 to camp.”
“No? I loved auditioning with you guys last year and we are forever a tercet but I’m ready to branch out on my own a little. Especially with this documentary, I mean this could literally be our future.”
“Okay, 1.0,” Ashlyn said while tossing her pillow at Gina.
“No, no… Y/N, you get it, right?”
You nodded. “No one’s friends on audition day, unless someone forgot their script. It’s nothing personal. We’re strangers until the cast list is posted. No hard feelings, just don’t be rude to each other.”
“Thank you.”
“Come on, G. If we don’t leave now, the prime area of the floor will be gone.”
You linked arms with the girl and walked towards The Barn. You and Gina stretched in relative silence. If you did talk, it was about anything other than auditions. The doors to The Barn swung open as more people came in to prepare. The arts section of Shallow Lake wasn’t very big so you knew everyone’s names. Your face dropped into one of shock when Ricky came walking through the doors with Carlos.
“When did you— how di— you’re here.”
“Hi.”
You gave Ricky a hug that he returned tightly. “Hi. Why are you at camp?”
“I got your text and you guys looked like you were having a lot of fun.”
“I’m glad you showed up. And now I can’t talk to you until auditions are over because right now we’re enemies, Mr. Bowen.”
He gave a snort of a laugh and a salute. “Alright, Prima, have fun stretching.”
You went back to stretching with Gina who was more focused on watching EJ hug some pretty blonde girl. She almost jumped when you leaned over to speak with her.
“That’s Val.”
“Yeah, Maddox told me,” she said through slightly clenched teeth.
“Oh… She and EJ go way back but there’s nothing going on between those two.”
“I wasn’t—”
“Gina, it’s EJ, I don’t think any of us wouldn’t have thought what you were thinking. I’m just helping you know that you don’t have to worry about Val.”
“Well, that’s a relief.”
You both put up your stuff against the chairs lining the room. Val got up on the stage to introduce herself to everyone as, not just a counselor, but as the choreographer for the show. You all gave her a little round of applause. Val was a good dancer so if she was doing the show it was sure to look good. Everyone’s eyebrows raised and their eyes went wide as EJ jumped on stage to announce he was the director. You, along with everyone else, were under the assumption that Corbin was directing the show. EJ clarified that he was directing the documentary about the show.
“That’s not totally confusing at all,” Kourtney muttered.
EJ clapped his hands together. “Let’s just get started. Everyone outside to warm yourselves up, Val and I will call you in a minute to announce what song you’re doing.”
Unlike opening night of a show, at every audition you listen to classical music. You and Gina were using the porch banister of the barn as a ballet barre. Every few seconds the two of you would laugh at each other because it was clear that you were listening to different beats while trying to do the same moves. Gina pointed behind you as she took off her headphones. You turned to see two young girls behind you.
“Hi! I’m Alex, this is Emmy. We’re eighth graders, almost freshmen and huge fans. We know all of Gina’s Tiktoks.”
Emmy nudged her friend. “Way to play it cool. We both go to The Saltwater Company, th—”
“Guppy Troupe,” you said. “You both were party children? Are you guys auditioning?”
“Yes, maybe? We’ve never auditioned for anything before.”
“Never?” Gina asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Guppy Troupe are too fresh to audition. They get assigned parts,” you explained. “You don’t start auditioning until Turtle Troupe.”
“Interesting.” Gina turned her attention back to the girls. “Well, be confident. That’s the most important part. So is being prepared but confidence is key. If you don’t have it, fake it. And you have to keep your eye on the prize. From this moment, you aren’t friends but competitors.”
“Really?” Alex asked.
You nodded. “Really. Up until the cast list… What we’re saying is get’cha head in the game. Don’t dull your shine just so a friend can show off theirs.”
You and Gina fist-bumped before heading back inside. You sat down in a chair next to Ricky. He let himself look at the side of your face every now and then. You looked down slightly when something crossed your field of vision. A water bottle, attached to Ricky’s arm, was in front of you. You took it and sipped a bit.
“Are you ready?” you asked.
“Eh. Why are you rolling your eyes?”
“Ricky, you’re the poster child for Kristoff. At least you already know your part.”
He scoffed. “That might not happen.”
“Oh, please, Ricky. It’s exactly what’s going to happen.”
Ricky cracked his neck once before going back to looking at his sheet music. He only looked up when it was your turn. You took a deep breath and smiled at his thumbs up before going. Because of his loyalty to you guys, Val was casting the show without EJ. You had no idea how she was as a casting director but she seemed to be into your performance. Or at least she was smiling about it.
After everyone went, it was time for scene work… only the scripts hadn’t come in yet. At Maddox’s suggestion, you all did lines from the songs but acted them out instead of singing them. Standing in a circle, you all decided to give it a shot. It was the middle of Kourtney’s turn when the saloon doors swung open. Your face read excitement while Maddox’s face read disappointment.
“Jett!”
“Sorry. Auditions started an hour ago,” Maddox said fiercely.
Jett walked over with his usual bored face. “I’m only here because Dewy made me and all your other activities are full.”
“Well,” EJ said with a clap of his hands. “Anyone is welcome to audition.”
“I’m not so sure about this.”
“Nobody’s judging you.” Ricky took his sheet music and handed it to the boy.
You gave him a smile and mouthed out “you got this.” Jett gave you the worst looking smile you had ever seen. The only person you cheered for louder than Ricky was Jett. For as long as you’ve known him, he really needed support. Everyone else but you and Maddox were in awe at his voice. A side smile crept onto your face. That was Jett for you. It was also in his nature to leave right afterwards so no one would praise him. Since auditions were over, you decided to go try and find him. Ricky tapped you on the shoulder before you could leave.
“Hi.”
“Hi?”
“Hi.”
“Okay, I thought I was the awkward introvert with social problems.”
Ricky forced a laugh as he scratched his head. “I heard there’s a campfire tomorrow? I was thinking we could share a log.”
“Yeah, sounds good. Sorry, I really want to hang out with you but I need to find Jett. Hopefully before Maddie,” you murmured the last part to yourself.
Skateboard ride- Ricky Bowen
Tumblr media
Author's Notes: I decided to write about this precious boy. I fell in love with him automatically while watching the show. How can you not like him, like seriously. Can we take the time to appreciate this human being.
-Samantha
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
During lunch I found myself sitting next to my best friend Ricky and Big Red. They were in a conversation about Nini, which  I could careless about. I love Nini with all my heart, but what she did to my best friend it was kind of harsh. I also don't want to hear her name being said 24/7. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard my name being said by Ricky. " Y/N, hey" he said I looked at him to continue but he never did. He just grabbed my wrist and made me get up and walked out of the lunch room. I said " Ricky, where are we going?" He did not answer me. We then made it to the library, which made me really confused because we were supposed to be at lunch. Ricky suddenly came to a stop which made me slam into him. He did not seem fazed at all by the hit. He started throwing an eraser that he ripped up. I was behind him so I could not see who he was throwing them at. i heard footsteps coming over. I moved my head from behind Ricky too see that the footsteps belonged to Carlos. They started talking until Ricky said he wanted to him something. I moved out from behind him just to see the thing. Ricky all of a sudden started dancing to a movie that I knew all to well.
'Skip until after school'
When my last class came to an end I was super glad cause school and I don't get along very well. I walked to my locker to grab my things I need for homework and other stuff I needed. Once I finished putting things in my bag I closed my locker and turned around only to have a jump scare. Ricky was laughing at me. I pretended to be mad at him so he would feel bad. He stopped laughing when he saw my face. I then started laughing which made Ricky really confused. I then walked in the direction of the door leading me to freedom until I felt my backpack get pulled. I turned around and glared at Ricky. He just gave me an innocent smile and then said, " What to come with me to the drama room for the play." I gave him a look, but followed him anyway. Ricky and Nini had to practice some dance. I guess Ricky ended up forgetting the last part of the dance which made Nini start talking. I was about to go give Nini a piece of my mind until someone held me back. I looked over to find Ej holding me back. I guess he did not want me to go mess with his girl. I snapped my head back when I saw Ricky running out of the doors, I ran out of Ej's arms to see if Ricky was ok. I made my way outside to see Carlos and Big Red with him. Before I could reach them Ricky got on his skateboard and started heading to the skate park. I know he was heading there.
' Skip the walk'
Once I made it to the skate park my eyes caught the brown curly headed boy on the steps. I made my way to him and sat next to him. " Hey Ricky, How you feeling?" he responded " um, I'm hanging in there." I then asked him " you know I always wanted to learn to ride a skateboard." That made him laugh, but he stood up from his spot on the steps and put his hand out for me to grab. I took his hand and stood up Ricky then said " Ok, you want to step on the board with your non-dominate foot and then you want to push off with your other one." I nodded that I understood, I grabbed Ricky's shoulders to steady myself. He then grabbed my waist to help me from falling to the ground. I then pushed off with my foot. I was about to fall, but did not know how to stop myself so I screamed " RICKY" and I then I heard running. I ended up losing my balance, but I felt familiar arms catch me. We then started laughing out of no where. Ricky, and I ended fooling until we had to head home.
Author's Notes: I know this may have some random things in it. I wanted to write about the show but added my own touch to it. I hope you enjoy this loving  story about Mr. Bowen or shall I say the actor Joshua Bassett. I have some idea's lined up for him already just have not gotten the chance to write them yet. Also don't be afraid to comment a request or message me in the inbox. I know my uploading of books are pretty random, but I have been busy with school and work so bear with me guys. Thanks for all the support.
