Preferring to use his opponent's own weight and size against them. He also uses his tail to help trip or grip his opponents. Prefers to use high vantage points when firing his guns, as to keep out of reach and barrage the enemy with a hail of gunfire.

Extra: Saune is skillful at parkour, using the skill to reposition himself and get to hard-to-reach areas.

Personality: Saune gives off big brother energy, caring for his friends and team, pushing them to be their best.

He is light hearted, laid back and easy going but becomes serious and focused when fighting. He is strategic and smart on the battle field but struggles to accept failure. Should something go horribly wrong he can become flustered and imprecise.

“I… I’m not sure I know how to reverse this,” Pietro said as he looked Weiss and Nora over, still slightly amazed dust had even caused the two to fuse. “Maybe with a few months to study you-” 

“We dont have months!” The girl yelled out as a glyph formed in front of her. “I…. We need to be training so we can be ready when we get Amity up into the air.”

Pietro nodded and started to make his way over to his desk. “I can take a blood sample now and see if maybe I can figure something out, but I… I still cant promise anything for this.” 

The Weiss and Nora fused girl nodded and let out a heavy sigh, her body relaxed and the glyph at her feet started to disappear. Everything from the surge of emotions she felt coursing through her mind, the electricity flowing through her veins, even the way her body moved felt strange and familiar, it still didnt make her excited about the prospect of waiting weeks or even months to find out how to fix this. “But you’ll let me know if anything comes of it?” 

“I promise you’ll be the first to know. And if I cant find anything with this, then there is always another, although more painful, way to get this sorted if we need to.” 

“And what’s that?” 

“Something we can discuss later. For now, as much as I hate to say it, you should get used to the body you have. I’m sure there’s a few people in Mantle that could use your help while you wait.” 

The Weiss/Nora body nodded and sat down for her blood to be drawn. “We’ll… I’ll need a new license until then, wont I?” 

Pietro grabbed a small needle and started to look over Weiss/Nora’s arm for a vein to use. “Maybe, but you still look enough like yourselves that you could pass with a different hairstyle. Though, if you’d like for me to make you a temporary license, I’ll need a name to call you.” 

“A… name…” The girl paused as the words rolled from her lips. It had never occurred to her on what exactly to call herself… themself. The name Nora or Weiss could work, but neither name felt right like this. And calling herself Neiss or Wora or any other combination of the names were out of question. “I… never thought of a name…” 

“You dont need to have one figured out just yet, though depending on what results I get from the bloodwork… you uh… you might want to start considering a name that you like.” Pietro gently put a band around her arm after he found a vein and stuck the needle in. He watched as electricity and ice flowed around in the syringe as he drew her blood. “Once you have one figured out, let me know.” 

The girl nodded and quietly thanked Pietro once he took a couple vials of blood from her and bandaged up her wound. Her mind raced as hundreds of ideas for a name passed through over and over again. What terrified her the most was the idea that giving herself a name would be admitting defeat instead of keeping hope that she could be split back to Weiss and Nora, that even the mere thought of seeing herself as a different entity all together felt… wrong. 

She slowly made her way onto the airship to head to Mantle, a sudden chill running through her body as she felt a pull to make her way to the crater. Her foot tapped as she pulled out her scroll and looked at a map of Mantle, a small smile crossing her lips as electricity ran through her hair. “If I’m going to help Mantle, then I better make the best of it. Whether Ironwood agrees with us or not.”

My mortal kombat obsession came back with a roaring vengeance ever since mk1 came out, and I’ve been thinking of a rwby/mortal kombat fusion

Here’s my ideas for the major factions at play:

Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei: At some point in his war with Salem, Ozma (as the Great Kung Lao) happened upon two feuding ninja clans, and decided to unite them together to fight against her. For hundreds of years, the two clans helped Ozma but some within the Lin Kuei grew dissatisfied with their role. Salem took advantage of this and convinced these rogue elements to hijack the Lin Kuei and join her. The coup is successful and the Shirai Ryu get massacred, the Lin Kuei retreating to the Grimmlands to attain power in Salem’s “new world” and spite Ozpin. As a result of the setting change, the Cyber Lin Kuei become the Grimm Lin Kuei, with its members being transformed into Grimm Hybrids instead of robots. However, one Shirai Ryu remains, and he now seeks revenge…

Black Dragon: An ancient crime syndicate that has business in all four kingdoms, and indulges in everything criminal from petty theft to arms dealing. They prove to be a significant thorn in the side of both the White Lotus Society and the White Fang. While they are not officially allied, Salem is more than happy to hire them and take advantage of the chaos they cause.

Special Forces: Upon realizing Salem is starting to gather an army, Ozpin and Ironwood decide to found the Special Forces, a secret army of their own formed from individuals in all four kingdoms. After the Fall of Beacon, Ironwood takes control of the army, though most of the leaders end up defecting after he decides to abandon Mantle to die, and they eventually take over the remnants of Atlas’ army following the Fall of Atlas.

White Lotus Society: A composite faction of Ozpin’s faction from RWBY and the White Lotus Society from MK. This faction is essentially everyone who works for Ozpin.

Outworld: An unofficial “sixth” kingdom in upper Vacuo composed of territories conquered by General Shao Kahn. Once the leader of a group of raiders and bandits in Vacuo, Kahn used a mysterious artifact from Humanity 1.0 to empower his minions and form his nation, with his former raiding party as his enforcers. Now, they seek to find a way to spread their rule worldwide and ensure Kahn’s rule lasts forever.

Brotherhood of Shadow: A cult dedicated to worshiping Shinnok, a warlock from Humanity 1.0 who survived the GoD’s wipeout by transferring his soul into his Amulet. Using his power, the cult gave themselves magical abilities and now seeks to take over the world themselves.

I’m planning on posting the stories of significant characters in the future, but if anyone has any questions, I’d be REALLY excited to answer them. I haven’t been this hyped over an au/fic concept in a LONG time.

Thinking about a RWBY au where people with unlocked Aura can fuse, SU-style, but typically without developing extra limbs/features, and with the resulting size increase being much smaller. (basically, they briefly break down into glowy Aura-mass and then recombine. Weapons optionally can too, if they're made with materials Aura-conductive enough for the breakdown to work.)

At first this was about cool combined Semblances, and it still kind of is, but now I'm more focused in on the dynamics. And how they'd be kind of a mess, for *spice*.

Renora is fused practically all the time and it's lowkey-highkey unhealthy, mentally speaking. They both clearly hate being unfused and tend to be kinda jumpy and anxious on their own, even though a lot of academic tests and assignments require them to unfuse.

But their friends and teammates are hardly equipped to properly sit them down and call them out on it, because it turns out All of them have a hard time being Normal About Fusing in some way

Each fusion can use their Semblances separately or combine them, the effects of which may vary in predictability, since each component's effects often kind of " stretch" and take on looser, more metaphorical qualities to smoothly combine.

So, Renora's fused Semblance is "Grimm Jamming", an effect that is not actually electrical anymore, but retains an electrical aesthetic. Rather than cloaking people, it just makes all Grimm in the area of effect unable to sense anyone for a while, with the major upshot being that it can simply be used once rather than needing to be a sustained effort.

When the effect is concentrated enough, it's also able to cause pain and disorientation to Grimm.

"Jyrrha"/sometimes jokingly called "Prawn" is barely any better once it happens for the first time, because Pyrrha's lonely and easily addicted to the feeling of the mental bond kinda speedrunning a deep companionship and no-strings-attached acceptance, while Jaune's addicted to the confidence and composure.

Of course, at first they just have souped-up Polarity, but if Pyrrha were to survive, they'd get "Aurakinesis".

The ability to push and pull Aura.

Its only balances are their moral code and their inexperience with it, because in theory, it's just as busted as it sounds.

Ruby likes fusing with Yang a Little Too Much, and their resultant fusion tends to be a little TOO reckless and energetic, especially because it also gets *even faster* upon taking damage.

Yang is kinda self aware about it and kinda tries to avoid it, but on the other hand, it's hard to resist the simple fact that it's also just plain fun as hell for her.

Blake is always reluctant to fuse and has trouble determining the line between "excessive paranoia" and "reasonable caution and skepticism". Followed by the reveal that she also used to be kind of addicted to being fused with Adam, before the Drama, which is then followed by Yang fusion kind of just re-enabling her repressed addiction with a new outlet. (And Yang ALSO becomes Less Normal about fusing once this is something they consistently do)

Weiss spends a good while at first being insufferably pushy with anyone she fuses with, and then blaming the resultant shitty experience on them, but also all while transparently thirsting big time over the desire to fuse with Pyrrha.

Weiss and Nora accidentally fusing together during a sparring session.

Weiss rolled her eyes as she watched Nora rock back and forth as she waited for her to finish loading up the dust vials into Myrtenaster. After each cartridge was inserted, she carefully rotated the cylinder and inserted the next, making sure to be careful with the dust mixture she had wanted to test. 

“So… how long is it going to take you to load those up?” Nora asked impatiently. 

“As long as it takes to make sure that I dont accidentally blow us all up.” Weiss finished with the dust cartridges and slowly stood up as she gave the cylinder of her weapon a hard spin to make sure everything was secure. “Now that we’ve had a little time to rest between the missions Ironwood has given us, I wanted to do a little more experimentation to see what other outcomes we can get with the dust I carry. And I dont want a repeat of my first day of Beacon.” 

“Where’s your sense of adventure? An experiment isnt finished until something explodes!” 

Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose as she watched Nora slam her hammer into the ground. With a heavy sigh, she raised her own weapon, gave the cylinder one more spin, and closed her eyes as she focused on a glyph she wanted to make. “I’m hoping to keep the explosions down to a minimum. I know the training room can withstand it, but I’d rather not waste anything.” 

Nora nodded and got herself into a ready stance as she lifted her hammer and watched the countdown timer Weiss had set for the training. Weiss finally opened her eyes and kept them trained on the clock she could see, both girls held their breaths in anticipation as the clock started to get close to zero. A robotic voice started to speak as the clock hit “10” and started to count down. 

“Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven.” 

Weiss gripped the hilt of her blade and took a breath to clear her mind, eyes focused on Nora as she took in the training that Winter had given her. The words ran through her mind as she focused. 

“*Keep your mind clear, your eyes focused, and your grip tight. Your aura will break quickly if you get hit, so remember to watch your opponent’s ever move, anticipate where they’ll be next, and strike where they wont see you.*” 

A smile crossed Weiss’s lips as Winter’s voice ran through her mind, though she was quickly brought out of her thoughts as she heard the loud horn to signal the start of the fight. She cursed herself for not paying attention and narrowly avoided Nora’s hammer as it was swung straight at her. Glyphs lined the floor in front of her as she ran forward and around Nora, her eyes scanned her opponent for any sort of weakness she could find. 

Without warning, the terrain of the training room had started to shift, pillars sank as new walls and pillars began to rise around the girls. Nora quickly balanced herself as a tile of floor she stood on rose into the air and Weiss quickly dodged a new wall that had started to form in front of her. One of the pillars that had risen from the ground started to let out fire and ice as it turned in place, others had electricity form between them to create obstacles to dodge. 

Weiss stumbled and fell to the ground as a tile lifted up from under her, her glyphs breaking as she slammed into a wall and let go of her weapon. Her eyes widened as she heard Nora’s voice from above with no time to move. 

“I’ve got you now!” 

“W-wait Nora-!” 

Before she could finish the rest of her sentence, she could feel the shockwave of Nora’s hammer slamming the ground and discharging the electric current it held. The arena filled with a pink smoke as Weiss’s weapon broke and the dust cartridges within had shattered, mixed, and blew up around the two girls. Weiss coughed as she waved the smoke around, bright blue eyes looked around as she looked around to try to regain her bearings as her head spun. 

“N-Nora… please… be careful nextime, “ Weiss said, her voice now sounding like a combination of her own and Nora’s. She brushed away red hair with white tips as she stood up and leaned against one of the newly formed walls. Her head buzzed with excitement as she took a few steps forward and paused when she saw reflection on the tile pillar: her eyes were bright blue instead of the pale blue they had been. The hair she had spent years taking care of was no longer down past the middle of her back, instead at shoulder length, pulled back in a ponytail, mostly a tangerine color with white tips and streaks. Even her clothes no longer seemed her own, more in Nora’s style. The skirt and top she wore were now pink with white accents and the jacket she wore was a deep, royal blue with pink around the collar.  Even the snowflake emblem on the back of her jacket had a hammer inside and lighting around the edge. 

With a deep breath, Weiss slowly stumbled her way out of the training room as she tried not to snap a heel as she tried to find her new center of balance with the help of her glyphs. “I… need to find PIetro. He’ll… I’m sure he’ll know how to fix this.”

Wanted to get your opinion on something. I’ve been playing around a RWBY fic fusion (of Squire by Dakaath, Shadow and Light by cdghuntermco, & Greek Tragedy by Taken-Names-Are-Awful). One of the changes I’ve set up for this AU is that Yang and Weiss end up as partners on a team with Ren & Nora.

My question is who ends up team leader? The personalities and backstories of these four are unchanged, except that all 8 of RWBY/JNPR meet each other in the Great Hall before initiation. Weiss has been defrosted just the tiniest bit but not significantly. My default assumption is Yang but I wanted to see if you had any insight I might be overlooking.

Weiss is the one least prepared to be a leader but the one who most needs to learn how to handle the responsibility of being in charge and how to inspire others to follow rather than resorting to threats and intimidation. Learning how to cope with following someone else’s lead helped her become the sort of person who could inspire others to follow her.

Yang is far more prepared and capable of being responsible and leading others by example, but she is also perhaps the one who least WANTS the burden of being responsible for others when she was kind of hoping to find more personal freedom. Yang was super-cool with her younger sister being leader in defiance of the natural pecking order for that very reason.

Nora becoming leader might jumpstart the character arc she started in Atlas where she’s forced to recognize she’s good for more than being strong and hitting stuff, which could also help her decide to be more honest with her feelings for Ren. She and Weiss would actually butt heads to the point of a live-ammunition fight to establish dominance, which I’m pretty sure Nora wins as per the Food Fight.

As a leader, Ren immediately evolves into The Dad Friend, where he’s almost as overbearing and intolerable as Weiss, but in a calmer and less shrill way. He really does want the best for everyone, but he’s very opinionated and hidebound about what “the best” is.
