2) no matter how DC artist draw Jason, don’t forget he’s a 19 y/o fighting a 16 y/o. This is something between an angry teenage fistfight over who has the bigger one and two deeply damaged boys blaming each other for things neither of them are responsible for. 

And for the love of god stop demonizing Jason for fighting a younger opponent when that is literally what all of Robin’s opponents do. Yes, every Robin is just a child fighting adults, either put up with the suspense of disbelief, or if you’re gonna extend sympathy to one of the Robins for having been brutalized by an adult, then maybe that should be fucking Jason who was actually killed by the Joker and not “little helpless Timmy”.

You’re doing both characters a disservice by portraying them like that.

okokokok so on the topic of botw/totk link having little to no emotion in cutscenes. ive said it in other posts but in botw it honestly makes sense given his present scenario and you are given a pretty good reason for it in the past. he's under a lot of pressure and he's just trying to do his job. in totk it does not work because he should have new memories now and he has memories with these new sages and with zelda and yet he's all but stonefaced with this people. there are some micro expressions and that's fine. but to me the problem with his lack of emoting in cut scenes is that it makes him very devoid of personality. he doesn't talk, so you're going to get the most of his personality from the way he moves and emotes, but in the cutscenes he just comes off as... dutiful stoic knight. with no meaningful feelings towards these people supporting him.

i'm not asking for him to be animated with all of these flourishes to give him some bombastic personality, but i just want to see him... react to stuff. see him express some extra emotion asides from determination.

people argue against botw/totk link having no expression by pointing out that he DOES emote quite a bit in gameplay and pointing that that there! there's his personality! and yes! i see it! and that kind of makes his lack of emotion in cutscenes worse! he can be and has been animated with personality and preferences and reactions and for some reason none of it is in the story important cutscenes! normally it's the other way around!

this isn't even fully about him having minimal expressions: i get it when people say it's maybe an autism thing, and that makes sense! i personally don't do a whole lot of expression when i'm under pressure, so i get it! that makes sense! i don't necessarily want him to have the facial expressions that skyward sword link had, i just want to see some shred of visual personality out of him in these cut scenes.

i mean... in ocarina of time, when the great deku tree is done telling his little story, you see that link has been sitting down. that's... something! stuff like the way he gets out of his bed and the speed at which he walks or runs in cut scenes... the engines oot and oot3d were done on can't allow for the same kinds of animations as botw/totk, but we still got little bits of personality just out of the way he moved his body. you emote with your body as much as your face. i may have a fairly straight face, but the way i may move gives away how i feel and how i act.

i wanted something like what we got in that first scene under hyrule castle- i wanted more of the moment when he gently takes zelda's torch because he knows her, understands that she may need both of her hands, and is willing to hold this torch for her while she grabs her stuff. you get a bit of personality out of that, you get that he knows zelda and how she works to some degree, and you get that there is trust between them because of this.

as far as i remember, this is the only instance of link being animated in such a way that suggests personality and his relationships with others. he emotes and is animated plenty outside of story beats, so he's very lively in dialogue options and little extra cutscenes, but in story beats, where he is interacting with his friends and discovering history and incredible secrets and trying to help the people he cares about and the world he cares about- it's all washed away, and it's kind of frustrating. i don't want anything big, just subtle little things, like his taking zelda's torch for her. something that isn't just him interacting with his environment and tepidly reacting- something that suggests little things about him and his opinions.

like how do i make it clear in my author notes at the start that i don’t write serialized things, i am writing a complete story where the word count is the fucking word count and the chapter count is the FUCKING CHAPTER COUNT, and warn people i get insulted if they ask for more... like it feels like im a chef who made a perfectly portioned meal designed to be the exact correct balance and serving of those ingredients and then someone loudly tells me (usually without even actually complimenting the food first) that I should bring them seconds. and im just standing there like the chef in that murdering chef movie like ‘if u question my fucking JUDGEMENT ON LENGTH u question me as an artist’???

i for real for real 100 per cent know it is not that deep but i cannot help it, my brain goes ‘u think i don’t know when THE END of my own story is???’

like unless i explicitly state in the final author notes that i am thinking about writing an epilogue or a sequel, i just straight up don’t want to see people asking for more. like i KNOW you’re trying to give me a compliment, but please just learn how to tell me something you actually liked about the thousands of words i ALREADY WROTE, i am looking for a crumb of validation here!!!

i understand that there are loads of fic writers who genuinely write more or less of a story based on the demand, because their writing flow IS that they like writing a serialized piece and they can expand forever on the concept until they decide they would like to wrap it up -- but that is not me and i guess i just need to be blunter in my author notes and be like ‘THERE WILL BE NO CONTINUATION’ like if that’s the only kind of comment you know how to leave, just say ‘looking forward to reading the next thing you write!!’ and we’re chill!!

So the recent dsmp lore from c!tommy

Let me preface this I watched tommy's pov for now, as I didn't know what happened at Tubbo's. I'm just here saying my thoughts.

Let me say that I love the major character death in season 1. The symbolism of the whole situation makes it poetic in a sense. Like they're in a prison where both sides of discduo have suffered. I kid you not, I shitted tears abt c!drm opening up to c!Tommy.

Like him taking off his helmet, showing that the earliest parts of c!drm is still there. Also love c!tommy's limbo is just a bigass theater of the drm's 1st stream of his smp - a world before his time; when he was happy with his friends (especially george). Also love the scene where c!punz said I'm your friend or smth but was met with silence instead - now THAT can mean two things, if you know what I mean.

And the cherry top of them all is when the nuke came. Like, c!drm is SO TIRED of this shit for once and asked c!tommy if it's too late, but then it's too late. He's so helpless and it made me cry. He can never be redeemed but man, I felt pity when he thought he still got a slither of hope.

Very tragic, I love it. Love the mcd here. And that's how season 1 ends. Believe my words. Season 2 is a hoax. It's not real, and yall cant change my mind.

The part that spoils the cake is how it opens up to season 2. Remember the exile abuse shit? As much as you go along saying he'll have a redemption arc, no he won't.

When you make up for your mistakes, you should accept that you did it, regret it wholeheartedly, and live your life with no regrets. But c!drm only did about 2 of these. Even if he finally felt understood, he still hasn't apologized nor regretted what he did in exile. With this petty yet destructive revenge of his, I think he'll never have a redemption arc.

What makes the season 2 opening so ominous is when Tommy asked drm to be his friend, his past abuser. What makes this worse is TUBBO IS RIGHT BEFORE THEM! Even if they have no memory of the past, I always know history will repeat itself, until something breaks.

And with that, that's my cue to leave the fandom. Y'all should have ended when they died. Not to mention, as a fan of mcd, I would have liked it when it ended when they died. But no, you give me this bs and dsmp will never end. Of course, it wont end bc there's a season 2.

I have no hopes after this. Only ranboo's lore will be my slither of hope left within the writing of the lore. But til then, I'm leave this fandom.

The gifts for 2024 are 100 ml fragrance sprays. These are not perfumes, they are more like room sprays. According to Yana, they worked with professional perfumers and the fragrances were formulated with each character's "image" in mind! These each come with a unique bottle label, plus a ribbon and a little wooden charm with a matching character motif on it. You can soak the wooden charm with the fragrance and use it to diffuse the smell through a room.

Preorders are open until 10 March 2024.

(Warning: in the case that these contain alcohol, it will not be possible to send the fragrances overseas due to shipping regulations against flammable materials. The paper goods—the 2024 Valentine Gift messages—will still be able to be sent out.)

Maybe breaking up with your ever so loving boyfriend was not your best move, yet it wasn’t your fault that he was too controlling, filled with possessiveness through and through. 

You wanted out, and you got it, albeit you were alarmed to see just how calm and collected he was, when in reality, you had expected him to break a vase or two in frustration. 

He let you go easily, which kept you up at night because that’s not what Jaemin would do and deep inside, you started second guessing your choice, wondering if leaving the guy who only ever wanted to love you, though his means were unconventional at times, he meant well. 

It all came crashing down when you actually saw him in the club, talking to a girl that was definitely not you. You couldn’t bear well with the fact that he was so nonchalant about it, not contacting you once since the breakup happened. 

Maybe it was the reverse psychology playing its trick, but you couldn’t deny it was working. After all, who would ever love you like Jaemin? Would anyone ever be obsessed to the point they’d hate seeing you with others? To the point they’d want to be involved in every single aspect of your life?

You didn’t have any answer for that, rather, you only knew that Jaemin would do it for you, he always had been doing so, which would be the initial reason for the breakup, and now—the reason why you wanted to get back to him. 

Which brings you to his place. He let you inside gently, as if he wasn’t surprised to see you. His calm demeanour had your mind turning into a fiasco. 

“Do you not care about me anymore?” You asked, voice breaking pathetically as you held back a sob. 

He looked at you normally, “you’re the one who wanted to break up,” he shrugged. 

And it hurt. It hurt to see him being so unbothered about the situation. The fault was yours, you’d agree but it would have been better had he been mad at you instead. 

You felt tears pricking your eyes, bottom lip trembling as you took a step towards him, “do you really not want me anymore?” You asked, embarrassed for being a hypocrite. 

“You left me, baby,” he said, heart fluttering when you called you the term of endearment. 

He had a frown on his face now. 

“How would I have any say in that, hm?” He asked, stepping closer and you rushed to pull him into a hug. 

“Please, take me back,” your voice came out muffled as you buried your face into his neck, completely missing the smirk which settled on his face. 

This was his plan all along. 

His monotonous look returned right when you leaned back, and lord he swore you looked beautiful with crystalline tear drops cascading down your cheeks. 

He hadn’t even touched you and here you were, wasting your precious tears on him, not knowing that he’s all yours, he’ll always be yours. 

“Please?” You whimper, pulling him closer by his nape in an attempt to kiss him, and he lets you. 

He lets you pour all your feelings into the kiss, tasting the saltiness of your tears as he doesn’t do much to reciprocate it, despite loving every second of it, which only makes you kiss him harder. 

He groans into your mouth, “now you realize it, huh?” He mumbles against your lips, hand gripping your cheeks now, which makes you mewl, “I’ve been treating you so well, baby, and you do what? Break up with me?” He clicks his tongue, “doesn’t sound fair to me now, does it?”

It doesn’t take him any effort as he picks you up, carrying you to the bed as your heart starts racing that maybe, just maybe, he was gonna let you back into his life, even if it means you’d be punished for acting out. 

“I’m sorry,” you mumbled again, which was not acknowledged by Jaemin at all as he threw you on the bed, a soft oof leaving your mouth at the impact. 

“Why should I take you back, hm? Did you go off to other men while I wasn’t with you?” He asked, fuming with anger when he knew that you didn’t do it. 

He kept a check on you after all.
