#season 5 finale speculation

WWDITS SEASON 5 FINALE PREDICTIONS
Someone asked for bonkers predictions for tonight's episodes, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I doubt the curse of Apollo will strike me, but who knows?
- The Morrigan House is a ploy by Simon the Devious. The vamps obliviously blunder through traps meant to kill them, foiling their host's plan.
- The Guide has been intentionally sabotaging the vampires all season because the housemates destroyed her former way of life and the building she was in charge of. She could have forgiven them if they gave her a new purpose as their friend, but since they're ignoring her, she will become their nightmare instead. She previously hexed Nadja, tried to get Guillermo killed and threw shade at Laszlo's book organization to cause him to hyperfixate.
- Guillermo's been kidnapped but Nandor is too stupid to realize it and thinks he returned to Panera Bread. While he's gone, Nandor can't stop seeing Guillermo everwhere. That rat looks like Guillermo. That bird-frog looks like Guillermo...
- The vamps will comb every Panera Bread, and fortunately for them, Guillermo's kidnapper is dumb enough to keep him at a Panera Bread in Little Antipaxos. Nadja finds out from her diner friends.
- When Nandor finally finds out, everyone tries to take the blame for turning Guillermo. Like Spartacus style. Laszlo, Nadja and even Colin because he didn't want to feel left out. They then try to convince Nandor it was a communal turning of a communal familiar so no one needs to kill anyone else today, but Nandor doesn't believe them. Not because what they say is physically impossible on multiple levels, but because ...
- Guillermo cannot fully change because Nandor made a wish that Guillermo would never be a vampire yet will remain with Nandor. This leads to yet another emotionally cathartic fight between the two. Each accuses the other of using them. The fight only defuses when they see clips from the documentary of the other being mushy about them when they're not around.
- Nandor uses his last wish to make Guillermo a full vampire thus Nandor technically turned Guillermo and doesn't have to kill him. This can't be a completely happy ending so it's Nandor's turn to run away from things he'd rather not deal with, leaving Guillermo behind.
- Guillermo is confident he can track Nandor down. He's still a vampire hunter, after all, and Nandor isn't the brightest prey.
- Laszlo creates a couple of Guide-raven hybrids, so the Guide will always have company. Laszlo is happy his science has worked for once. He ignores the TV reports about the increasing number of Guillermo hybrid sightings around New York.
- Nadja is happy that no hex means she's free to be mean again. She and Dollie go on an insult bender.
- Derek used the money Guillermo paid him to bribe other vampires into talking him up, so now he's considered a cool and legendary vampire. Bonus points if a jealous Nandor is there to call him a fucking guy.

Okay but if Buck gets seriously injured in the finale (or any point, really) and Eddie is just that millisecond too late, and Bobby tries to comfort him, I really need Eddie to look at Bobby with tears in his eyes, completely distraught, and say "I can't lose him, and I can't - Bobby, how do I tell my son that I lost his best friend?"

So after staring into the middle distance for a couple days I'm ready to start discussing some theories I have before the season finale destroys us. They are all very wide-ranging in absurdity but I'll start with the one that I think has the most substance and therefore I think is most likely to happen. Also, I haven’t caught up with the tag yet so if someone already posted these theories, sorry!
So here is Theory #1, known otherwise as,
Why (I think) I know how Laszlo is going to unfuck Guillermo
The solution, I believe, was stated at the very end of The Roast by Laszlo himself:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FIRST THOUGHT, BEST THOUGHT
Laszlo has spent weeks deeply committed to solving a problem. He's wasted precious time trying to outthink his first (and probably best) solution – and I'm not just talking about his book sorting. Neither was Laszlo, not entirely at least. I actually do think he was focused at least a little bit on his books because that's kind of what happens when you're stuck on a problem. Your brain wanders to other much less taxing ordeals. Usually, as you solve that smaller problem, you find the solution to the thing you really want to solve.
So what was Laszlo’s first idea?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All along Laszlo had the answer but Guillermo told him that he didn't think it would work, so Laszlo just didn't pursue it further. (We don't even know if Laszlo knows the circumstances of the test and why it didn't work. Just that Guillermo didn't approve that idea.) So then Laszlo wasted valuable time and energy trying to ~Science~ this problem instead of using his true best skill that was showcased in episode one of the season: his charm. His powers of persuasion (the classical art of bullshitting, as it were) is his true super power. (Sadly, it’s not science. He doesn't really have the patience for science tbh).
But, no, rly, he should bullshit his way thru this. That's what he does best. He can outthink Nandor easily. (well….maybe. with the time spent on his experiments, Nandor could have the advantage of several weeks, if not months, to figure things out beforehand, as dense as he is) He should concoct a bullshit so impenetrable that it unfucks Guillermo from Derek and refucks him to Nandor.
Further foreshadowing of this you ask?
Tumblr media
(this whole season is dedicated to ‘plans’ it’s crazy how much A Plan pops up. maybe i’ll dedicate a separate post to collecting them all)
But alas! The test that The Baron did proved this wouldn’t work, right!?
Tumblr media
Well here's some free additional theories to how Laszlo could solve that hiccup:
1. Laszlo figures out (and solves) the reason why The Baron/Neighbor test didn't work in the first place.
There could be any number of factors of why The Baron's neighbor blew up. It could be that The Baron is all that more powerful than the average vampire and so his bite gives an extraordinary fill of uh...vampire-ness? and Derek, being so young and weak, doesn't do much at all. Maybe it has something to do with The Sire. If The Baron was turned by the first being ever affected by vampirism, then maybe that vampirism is slowly depleted the further down the line you go. Derek is probably very far removed from The Sire which means he cannot transfer much of that affliction onwards. Nandor, if he was turned by The Baron (one removed from The Sire) or someone similar, explains how he is so powerful, hopefully tho he wouldn’t have too much power to possibly overwhelm Guillermo's half-a-virgin body (and yes I did like how kinky that sounded when I wrote it). It doesn't really matter the exact reason as long as Laszlo can convince Guillermo to try it and he has a relatively decent chance of surviving it. (convincing Guillermo to go thru with this plan overall is probably going to be the most trouble actually. you don't easily forget a guy exploding in your face)
2. Something to do with the experiments. (or the Nadja’s bait-and-switch tactic she used to catch The Baron/Guillermo from The Roast)
I have a larger theory on the experiments and why I think there's still one in the house, but that's for later. During The Roast, Nandor is pretty convinced that the mutant Guillermo is the real one (despite one pretty big glaring error: he has no glasses. none of the experiments need glasses...), Laszlo might have been testing this theory by having The Baron bring his body to Nandor in the first place in order to see how convinced Nandor would be by it. This might be enough for Laszlo to try to use a duplicate of Guillermo for Nandor to bite. The duplicate will not explode (probably?) due to only being a hybrid of Guillermo's blood and an animal…or something(one) else pretending to be Guillermo… (and if it does, maybe Laszlo plans to shoo Nandor out of the line of sight in order for him not to see. And then you get the angst and drama of Guillermo literally using a scapegoat to take his 'sin' despite his reluctance to hurt innocent creatures)
But will the fake Guillermo actually convince Nandor? It's hard to say, and I love that threat of Nandor realizing that it's not the true Guillermo he bit and feeling even more betrayed. Maybe Laszlo concocts a whole ambiance to the event in order to sell the lie. It has to be special right?
So there's dim lights and candles and (fake) Guillermo is laid out in Nandor's coffin and there's this whole presentation element to it that was left out of Guillermo's turn with Derek. It's more like the fantasy that Guillermo probably always had of being turned by Nandor. It plays out like a romantic love scene. But Guillermo is asleep or has his eyes closed and won't talk or maybe only makes small noises and Nandor's very upset abt this. Laszlo is probably hovering too and Nandor doesn't like that either but Laszlo insists he must be there and it's now it's all awkward and wrong, kind of like how Guillermo felt before he was bit by Derek. (now it’s like Nandor is the bull cucking Laszlo in front of him) Nandor goes thru with it and bites Guillermo and is rushed by Laszlo so he doesn't get to drink or drink too much of his blood and there's fumbling with trying to get his own blood into Guillermo's unresponsive mouth.
Or maybe Nandor finds out because Guillermo's blood is disgusting and he either knows or had hoped it would be good tasting*. or that Guillermo just lays there and there's no reciprocation of desire. But maybe he just doesn't find out and once it's over he expects to be able to lay with Guillermo or otherwise be there for his turning but Laszlo quickly rushes him out of his own room and closes the door behind him.
So now Nandor feels all the same despondency that Guillermo had felt with his turn with Derek. Like this big special moment he's built up for years was a complete dud. Like he missed out on something truly magical and he doesn't know why. And Guillermo will feel like shit too, for tricking Nandor. Laszlo isn't happy either. But it worked and they all just have to live with it. Meanwhile this act that was meant to make Nandor's and Guillermo's bond stronger, only serves to create even greater distance between them.
Re*: evidence that Guillermo's blood might taste 'different':
Tumblr media
3. ANYWAYS. that was theory two. lets talk about theory 3.
WITCHES.
I actually think there's good reason Laszlo has divorced Science and is now going to have an affair with Magic. It's exactly when Nadja says 'has this hex turned me into an uggo' that Laszlo comes to life and exclaims ‘that's it!’. If science wasn't the solution, maybe magic is. It's not like they don't know some witches, or that, at least to a degree, witches actually have some power. (specifically the power to look, vaguely, like someone else.) I'm not certain of the specifics but there's a chance Laszlo could be turning to magic to solve his problems. This would also bring Nadja's storyline more relevant and in focus for the season. The thing I like the most about this theory? Episode 9 describes being invited to a manor owned by someone named Morrigan. Morrigan is a Celtic goddess of war and fate that was probably the inspiration for Arthurian legendary sorceress, Morgan le Fay. (Laszlo's name may also be connected to Arthurian legend, Lancelot. but that probably doesn't mean anything.)
So! That's my three extra theories attached to this one big theory that Laszlo is going to go 'back to the beginning' and use his first thought to solve this. Go with his gut. His first solution was his best solution, all along.
…He simply needs to convince Nandor to turn Guillermo.
The, uh, details of this plan may be a lot more complicated than it suggests.

It’s Nathalie who owes Adrien the truth, not Ladybug
I’ve seen a lot of people believing that Adrien will be mad at Marinette/Ladybug in season 6 for lying to him about his father. I don’t agree with this speculation.
Firstly, Adrien cannot be angry at Marinette, because as far as he knows, she’s just a civilian who had nothing to do with Monarch. But his lack of knowledge may prove to be a blessing, because he may be able to talk to her about his struggles and emotions without turning into another Chat Blanc.
Secondly, Adrien knows that as Chat Noir he isn’t supposed to react too emotionally. If he does, he may accidentally reveal his true identity. I can see him distant for a short time, but not too long. What’s more, he may feel guilty that he wasn’t able to fight with her, that maybe his absence led to her mistake. His alleged lack of involvement in the Agreste drama may also prove to be a blessing, because he may be able to listen to her arguments and look at her with more sympathy. I think he will stand by her (but some of the other Miraculous holders may believe Lila’s revelations, as they did before, and turn against Ladybug).
Thirdly, it isn’t Ladybug’s responsibility to tell him the truth. Nathalie is right there. She’s an adult, his caregiver and someone who was directly involved in Hawk Moth’s actions. Her redemption arc isn’t over yet. It’s good that she became disillusioned with Gabriel and focused on Adrien instead, but her involvement shouldn’t be forgotten and ignored. She participated in Hawk Moth’s plans, she created Senti-Ladybug and relieved her of her existence killed her, she wore the wedding ring (which Adrien noticed). When he learns that he’s a Sentihuman and that his father was Hawk Moth, he will also know that Nathalie was Mayura who created many Sentimonsters without any respect for their lives. She should come clean about it before Adrien, she should admit what she did was wrong, apologise and promise she will never do that again.
I’m very interested in this plot nad their relationship.

I know a lot of us are upset about Nandermo not becoming canon at the end of this season (I am too), but I’m honestly not surprised by this. I could tell from the beginning and as the season went on that they were still not at a place where that could happen naturally and realistically, especially with the secret Guillermo had been keeping the entire season.
My sincere hope is that for season 6, now that Guillermo knows that he doesn’t truly want to be a vampire but that he cares about the vamps and wants to stay with them, especially with Nandor, he’s going to have to reevaluate his relationship with them and his “master”.
What’s the point in serving Nandor anymore if it’s not with the goal of becoming a vampire? We know he was doing it this season to keep up appearances (and because he didn’t want to leave him), but now, everyone knows that he doesn’t want to be a vampire.
Just like Nandor said, he’s going to need to figure out what he really wants. And I think we all know what that is.
I think with this conflict of Guillermo’s being resolved, as well as the intentional choice by the writers to show just how much Nandor cares for and knows everything about Guillermo, better than he even knows himself, is going to open the door for a romantic relationship to be seriously considered by both of them.
However, this means the conflict next season could likely be not only them actually acknowledging their romantic feelings, but navigating how a romantic relationship between them could even work as a vampire and a human, because this means Guillermo will grow old and die eventually. Of course, this would be devastating to Nandor, which may be a barrier to him telling Guillermo how he really feels.
Perhaps eventually Guillermo will be ready to become a vampire, and Nandor will actually be the one to do it, which would make it a special and intimate thing in contrast to the messy and hasty way it was done with Derek (because we now know Guillermo was absolutely not ready to be a vamp). Who knows.
I do have some concerns about how this potential plot line could be handled by the writers, because one of my main criticisms of WWDITS in general has always been its reluctance to stick to its plot decisions as well as to allow characters to have genuinely wholesome or serious moments without a joke being tacked on at the end. Nandor and Guillermo are usually the characters that are allowed to have these moments, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that all of the vamps were allowed to have them to some degree this season. This gives me more hope for next season.
I’m sure our expectations will still be subverted somehow, because that is 100% what the writers are going for, especially with the way Nandermo went last season and the way the plot line of Guillermo’s secret was handled this season.
Honestly, after what OFMD, GO, and even the endings of WWDITS S3 & S4 have put me through, I was surprised but pretty satisfied with the genuinely happy ending we got with for S5, and I’m glad we didn’t end on a painful cliffhanger.

Hey Gale! Got an hypothetical question for you. Since we have now have team of 16 permanent Holders, if there was a fallout between Ladybug and Chat Noir about... let's say about whether or not revealing the truth about Gabriel to the public or not, who do you think would side with whom?
Do you consider there some of the Holders who could be "recruitable" to the cause or could switch side or prefer to remain neutral?
Oh so we doing Miraculous Civil war?!
Okay let’s do this.
Assuming everyone learns the truth. And it’s the fall out.
Let’s go down the list.
Rena Rouge: Easily Ladybug. She already knows and stays loyal
Carapace: Now you would think Chat noir, but he doesn’t know Chat noir is Adrien… and that’s why he would stay on Ladybug’s side because of Alya. Unless he finds out his homeboy is chat noir. But we can’t assume that. (Recruitable)
Vespara: Team Ladybug. Obvious reasons
Argos: Team chat noir, mainly because he hates Gabriel and finding out the truth that Marinette failed would have him lean towards chat noir
Ryuuko: You would think Ladybug, but Ryuuko knows some of the deal her mom made with Gabriel so I think She would be team chat noir in this case. (Sentibeing’s relate)
Viperion: He knows both identities and for that reason, I think he would abstain.
Bunnyx: Same as Viperion.
King Monkey: He would be team chat noir.
Pegasus: Also team Chat noir, because of what Gabriel has done to Markov.
Polymouse: Shockingly I think she joins Team Chat noir. Those rings were menaces to society. And Mylene has strong moral convictions
Minotaurox: Team chat noir because of Mylene.
Pigella: I think she would either abstain or be team ladybug.
Purple tigress: Either abstain or join team chat noir
Roosterbold: Team Ladybug
Caprikid: Team Chat noir ( he canonically hates being lied to)
Miss hound: Team Ladybug

Guys, so I was thinking, and there is no way there was a father-son reveal post-emo special. They all went home, and Claw Noir, not Adrien Agreste, was deemed Comrade Mayo. Betterfly still does not know the identities of his new teammates, and Shadybug and Claw Noir still do not know the identity of the man who dared to steal a miraculous from the Supreme. Claw Noir and Betterfly live in the same house and neither of them know it, and there still hasn't been a reveal.
You want proof?
According to Tikki, she "lives in all the universes simultaneously" or something (shut up I dont wanna go back and see what she actually says leave me alone). This implies that all kwamis live in all the parallel universes, all at the same time. Which includes Plagg.
If there was a father-son reveal in Emo Land, Plagg would know the identity of Betterfly. He would then, therefore, also know the identity of Monarch. And he would not have been surprised when Marinette told him that Monarch lived in the Agreste Manor in Conformation. Because he would have already known that.
And if you want to say that this is another "peacock miraculous in the safe" situation, and the father-son reveal actually did happen and Plagg is just ignorant and didnt make the connection Betterfly = Monarch, I'm not stopping you. They can have their reveal in your head anytime you want.
I'm just making another pointless speculation about my favorite bug and cat show and pointing out the true canonical facts.
(there hasn't been a reveal. yet. :P)

I think something that people need to realize that it’s more likely that Marinette kept Gabriel being hawkmoth a secret for a single reason. Adrien.
It’s not for Gabriel sake it’s purely for Adrien. But not for the reasons that people think. Guys, level with me. Think about it. People found out that his father was the terrorist that had been responsible for so much pain and suffering in the city for God knows how long how do you think people would treat Adrien?
At best, he would just be a social pariah. Honestly, I actually agree with her decision to keep us a secret purely for Adrien’s safety. if it got out that he was the son of the terrorist that had been responsible for so much suffering, there’s no way he would be safe.
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY !! While it the majority of us can agree to say that hiding every truth about his father and sentihuman nature from Adrien may be the wrong decision, at least there's a very understandable and logic reason as to why Ladybug went along with the "Gabriel Agreste died as a hero to help me defeat Monarch" and agreed to lie to all of Paris if it is to avoid further pain to Adrien.

I'm still confused about Lila. What IS her motivation at all now as Butterfly?
Yeah, she hates Marinette and Ladybug but WHY? What's the goal here? If she's after Marinette then there needs to be a reason for that besides meaningless pettiness. Marinette herself deserves a better villain than just her bully having bigger bully powers now with no interesting story, motivation or dynamics behind it.
Marinette already had nothing to do with the Agreste Story itself and her side of the story was mostly just dealing with the monsters of the week. She never even had much of a dynamic with Hawkmoth or Mayura either besides hero vs villain.
I hoped that they would do better with Lila but that requires more motivation for Lila than fucking with Marinette cause Muhahahaha. If there is no point of view for the villain one can at least follow to understand from their perspective why they think they are justified then half the narrative gets lost and the hero vs villain thing gets boring real fast.
Lila's true motivations are currently unknown. What is her deal with living different lives? What is her purpose joining different schools or pretending to be several women's daughter?
Heck, we don't even know Lila's real name. She is Chameleon without the need of being akumatized.
Tumblr media
The logo on her laptop seems to point her out as a member of some dark web, or maybe even some sort of secret agent but she appears to work alone and solely for herself.
All in all, who Lila / Cerise / Whatever-Her-Name-Is is a mystery. She twists the perception of the truth. Is she even a teenager or a more ancient being?
She lies in order to manipulate people and get what she wants. And if there are people who resists, she considers them to be an obstacle to be deal with. And she adapts.
And what we have seen of her may only the tip of the iceberg. But I think it is safe to assume she too would want to Power of Reality and change the world how she sees fit.
As for the villain vs the good guys conflict, I don't think Miraculous will give you what you want in that department because on how the power of the Butterfly works. Like Hawkmoth, she could be hidden in her lair and avoid direct confrontations. It matches Lila's nature to use people around her to get what she wants. It adds several layers before the heroes can even get a change to take back her Miraculous. And as a civilian, we don't know what Lila has in mind, but I doubt she'll repeat the same mistakes.

The first arc of Miraculous opened with the question as to the identity of Hawkmoth. A question that plagued the fandom and may have seemed obvious in retrospect but had to have left a shadow of doubt in the minds of viewers, with the red herring bits of information laid out to draw away attention from Gabriel.
What is interesting, is that we are now entering into the second arc of Miraculous and we are faced with a similar question. At first glance it would appear obvious as to the identity of the woman in the lounge chair. After all, the entire duration of the show has depicted Gabriel seeking the wish to bring back Emilie.
However, by the time we get to Gabriel actually making the wish, this is no longer a simple given. We the viewers, have watched Gabriel's descent into madness and moral decline throughout the seasons, especially this last one, and in addition to this, his mindset at the end is very unclear. On the one hand he claims to be regretful for what he's done, on the other hand he still steals the Miraculous and makes the wish. The wish and its price are never explicitly stated and are left for us to guess their contents.
This information taken into account, along with the pink and black color scheme (Amelie wears black, Emilie wears pink) of the bathing suit and the updated hairdo, all make the identity of the person sitting next to Nathalie an unknown.
The point of this all being that, we have now begun a new phase of Miraculous with a new identity to speculate on and uncover. Perhaps we will not have to wait a full season to know this identity, like last time, but her mysteriousness and the implications that both this mystery and that her very person have on Gabriel's wish, have left us with uncertainty and anticipation of something to come. And I fully believe that the implications of this mystery are going to carry the storyline into the next season.

Miraculous Season 6 Speculation
I pulled up this post I made after the season 4 finale to see how close I came with my predictions about season 5. Despite getting pretty much everything wrong, I did nail a few things:
Gabriel was unable to handle the power of all the Miraculous, at least at first
Felix used his control over sentibeings to target Gabriel (although notably not Adrien, whom he was trying to save if anything)
Alya regained the Fox Miraculous (admittedly in the last ep and alongside all the other previous holders)
Marinette fell in love with Chat Noir, complicating her feelings for Adrien
Luka was placed in an impossible position because he knows too much
Natalie's health declined to the point of incapacitation (although I didn’t anticipate the same with Gabriel)
Chloe and Lila established an alliance that ultimately went south
I admit most of these predictions were obvious and easily anticipated. I’d rather not embarrass myself by going too far inside M. Astruc’s head, but I can’t help speculating about what the next season holds.
Hence, I’d like to suggest a few plot threads I anticipate showing up during season 6:
~~~
Everyone assumed Cerise would be the new antagonist, using the Butterfly Miraculous to further her vendetta against Marinette and/or seize the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous to forge a wish of her own. But Cerise’s panic in the last seconds of the ep suggests she’s encountered a powerful force she can’t control. This is the new enemy, although Cerise will become its servant and vessel if it means fulfilling her revenge.
This entity will be far more dangerous than Gabriel ever was, unbound by human emotion or empathy. It will be capable of neutralizing and even possessing the new and inexperienced Miraculous holders, forcing Ladybug to create a new power-up.
Who or what exactly is it? It will either be connected to Nooroo, driven insane by a damaged Miraculous, or Tomoe Tsurugi, the only player in Gabriel’s “Perfect Alliance” gambit who didn’t get anything she wanted.
~~~
Other plot points ripe for exploration:
Adrien and Marinette’s romance is plagued by lingering feelings of attraction for Ladybug and Chat Noir, respectively. They break up over it for at least one episode because one of them suspects there’s “someone else”. One of them gets possessed over it. However, Adrinette comes back stronger than ever, reinforced by better communication, more trust, and the realization that the other one isn’t perfect and that’s okay.
One of the other couples also breaks up or gets in an argument, again for only one episode and also involving possession.
Almost everyone believes Gabriel died a hero—except for Marinette, Felix, Kagami, Nathalie, and Amelie. One of them (and you all know which one) accidentally lets the butterfly out of the bag. Angst and drama ensue.
Amelie moves into Maison Agreste as Adrien’s legal guardian. It gives Adrien and Felix the chance to rebuild their relationship as cousins and friends. But certain members of the MiracuClass still don’t completely trust Felix. It causes problems when they realize he’s Argos.
The new Miraculous holders don’t know what the hell they’re doing and make all kinds of mistakes. They use their powers for selfish reasons, and LB and CN must save them from their own messes. They swap Miraculous without even telling Ladybug. They keep revealing their secret identities to each other. They upset, misplace, or lose control of their Kwamis. They get possessed by the new antagonist and use their Miraculous powers against Ladybug and Chat Noir. If Luka teaches any of them Mirakung Fu, someone's gonna kick one of their best friends in the face. Marinette briefly considers taking all the Miraculous back until an attack on her personally confirms she had the right idea. She starts relying more on Chat Noir as a mentor, and occasionally an enforcer, for the other holders.
Cerise joins the MiracuClass at the new school Miss Bustier created. Marinette’s the only one who recognizes Cerise as Lila, but everyone else thinks Marinette is nuts.
Chloe returns to Paris mid-season, discarded by her mother and with nowhere else to go. Andre reluctantly takes her in, and it turns out she learned nothing—she blames Ladybug for everything that went wrong in her life and will stop at nothing to get revenge. She may enroll at Marinette’s school in disguise and forge an alliance with Cerise, not realizing she herself is Lila in disguise, to “get” Marinette.
Sabrina and Marc’s mutual love of soccer leads the former to develop a crush on the latter. It ends well for no one.
And finally, Luka gets his own love interest, if only because he damn well deserves it.

Buck & Eddie: Buck said, “This is Eddie’s house, I’m not really a guest!”
Tumblr media
This post includes detailed scene analyses from seasons 2-5 to illustrate how 9-1-1 has been very LOUD and INTENTIONAL in showing the audience that Buck will become a permanent resident in Eddie’s house.
Please note: this post only includes the scenes that have Buck and Eddie in them and doesn’t include any scenes that just have Buck and Christopher or Eddie and Christopher because its purpose is to highlight Buck’s transition from living in the loft to when he will ultimately be living with Eddie and Christopher.
Make no mistake, Buck will soon become a permanent resident at 4995 South Bedford Street (Eddie’s house). When the audience follows the narrative, it’s been clear from the beginning of season 2 that Buck and Eddie are endgame (if TPTB allow the narrative to continue) and there have been several CANON facts to prove it.   The progression of where they spend their private time has been slowly transitioning from happening primarily at Buck’s loft during season 3, to solely at Eddie’s house during season 5B. Let’s begin.
Season 2
2x4 “Stuck”
Tumblr media
There was only one time Buck and Eddie were in one of their residences during season 2 and it was at Buck’s (Abby’s) apartment in 2x4 “Stuck”.  Based on the conversation they had in that episode, Eddie told Buck, “You’re still living in your invisible girlfriend’s house and you’re telling me about weak excuses”.  Later in that same episode, Buck invited Eddie over but he lied to him to get him to agree to it. He asked Eddie to come over to help with Maddie’s move but when Eddie arrived Buck told him that he lied and explained the real reason why he invited him over was so that he could introduce him to Carla.  Buck was still living in Abby’s apartment until 2x7 “Haunted” when he finally moved out and in with Chimney.  There weren’t any other times during season 2 when Eddie was at Buck’s place or vice versa.  The narrative was showing the audience that Abby’s apartment would never be Buck’s permanent residence.
Season 3
3x1 “Kids Today”
Tumblr media
In 3x1 “Kids Today”, Eddie entered Buck’s loft with his key and after he got Christopher situated, he proceeded upstairs and entered Buck’s bedroom.  The first thing to note is that he entered Buck’s bedroom which is the most private and intimate space within a person’s home. Secondly, the way he did it was very domestic, it was kind of like Eddie had already been coming over to the loft for a while especially since Shannon died in 2x17 “Careful What You Wish For” and since Buck’s leg got crushed after the ladder truck exploded and Ali broke up with him in 2x18 “This Life We Choose”.  Reminder: Buck lives in a loft and he’s a firefighter. A loft is a huge open space with doors only being attached to the bathrooms.  Since Buck’s a firefighter he’s trained to listen for noises while he’s sleeping and since he lives in a big open room with an upstairs that has no walls, it should have led the audience to two specific points: (1) Eddie obviously had entered Buck’s loft before with his key and (2) when Buck heard the door to his loft open, he knew it was Eddie because he didn’t get up.  If he thought it was a burglar or Maddie he would have gotten up.  Also he and Eddie were in a domestic dispute about Buck’s depression until Eddie’s secret weapon, Christopher spoke up.  Buck had no idea that Christopher was there until he heard him say “Hey Buck”.  Buck’s demeanor changed from him being angry to him being soft and reassuring when he realized Christopher was there too. Based on how Buck responded to Eddie’s comments, it should have been obvious that he and Eddie have had adult conversations there before without Christopher being present.
3x3 “The Searchers”
Tumblr media
When Eddie and Christopher returned to the loft in 3x3 “The Searchers” Eddie didn’t use his key, he knocked on the door so that Buck could answer it.  There was reluctance on both sides (except for Christopher) because Buck was shocked to see them and Eddie wasn’t sure how to handle the situation due to the way they left their relationship after the Tsunami. They reconciled and that’s when Eddie told Buck “There’s no one in the world I trust with my son more than you”.  They were showing the audience that Eddie still considered Buck to be capable of co-parenting Christopher with him.
3x9 “Fallout”
Tumblr media
Buck apologized to Eddie once at the firehouse in 3x6 “Monsters” and his second apology happened in 3x9 “Fallout” while they were in Buck’s loft inside of his kitchen.  Reminder: this was after everything that happened starting with 3-4 “Triggers” through 3x8 “Malfunction” including Christopher’s nightmares, Buck seeing that Lena was Eddie’s new partner at the 118, the lawsuit, the grocery store argument, Eddie’s illegal fight club shenanigans and Eddie’s mandatory therapy with Frank.  Let’s be clear, Buck’s second apology was about their relationship outside of work while the first one was specifically about their work partnership since it took place inside of the firehouse.  The Kitchen Scene was very domestic as it included both HUSBANDS Buck and Eddie entering the kitchen while they left Christopher in the living room watching TV.  Eddie took all three of their plates and put them in the sink while Buck pulled two beers from the fridge, opened both bottles and slid one over to Eddie.  They moved seamlessly around Buck’s kitchen like it’s something they’ve done many times before and they were also taking care of each other while keeping an eye on Christopher.  They were very relaxed and then Buck started with his sincere and passionate apology.  When he said, “I’m sorry Eddie.  I’m sorry I wasn’t there. You and Chris needed me and I had my head so far up my own behind with that stupid lawsuit”, Eddie looked like he wanted to cry and said, “We’re way past that Buck”.  Then Buck said, “I’m NOT!”  There were several inferences being made during this scene.  First the audience was meant to see them as a family, two dads and their son.  Secondly Buck and Eddie were making up after being estranged SPOUSES partners for several weeks when they couldn’t talk to each other.  Thirdly Buck took ownership of the reason behind their separation when he realized they both missed each other like crazy.  This was all about them romantically reconciling with one another and at the end of their conversation Buck and Eddie were both ready to go upstairs and make love to be BuckandEddie again.
Their conversation was foreshadowing for 4x13 “Suspicion”, 4x14 “Survivors”, 5x11 “Outside Looking In”, 5x13 “Fear-O-Phobia” and 5x14 “Dumb Luck”.  Basically Buck was silently telling Eddie, ‘Babe, I love you and I’ll never abandon you and Christopher again. I’ll be there even if it means I have to drop everything else.  You and Christopher are my life and my heart’. And Eddie responded with ‘I still love you and you came back to me, that’s what matters. Please don’t every leave me again because if you do, I won’t be able to handle it. I yelled at you in the grocery store but I wanted to punch something, so I started fighting. I won’t use fighting as a way to express my anger again’.  The truth is Buck has been there for both Diaz boys after their conversation and Eddie never punched anyone again whenever he felt like he was losing Buck.  Instead he simply punched the walls inside of his bedroom.
3x10 “Christmas Spirit”
Tumblr media
In 3x10 “Christmas Spirit” Eddie’s house was the backdrop for their domesticity.  Eddie invited Hen, Denny and Buck to his house since they all had to work on Christmas Day.  While Buck was sitting on the floor making gingerbread houses with Christopher and Denny, Eddie was at the dining room table with Hen having a conversation about how difficult Christmas had been for Christopher since his mother passed away.  She asked was that the reason he invited them over and he said, “Well, I thought it would be nice to bring the boys together for a play date” and Hen responded, “Yeah, all three of them”.  The camera panned to Buck, Denny and Christopher and then back to Eddie. Eddie was gazing at Buck with the biggest heart eyes and he had a look on his face that said, ‘I love him and we can be together.  It doesn’t matter what anyone says because I want to be with him.  We’re going to get married, have lots of babies and I’m going to be a stay-at-home dad’.  This scene served two purposes: (1) the audience was meant to see Buck as Christopher’s second parent since Eddie had just finished talking about how Christmas was a special time for Christopher with his mother and then Christopher said, “Buck, can I spend Christmas with you?”; (2) it showed how Eddie had already accepted the fact that he and Buck were co-parenting Christopher.  Reminder: this was right after The Kitchen Scene. Finally this was hindsight to 2x10 “Merry X-mas” because the elf told Buck after Eddie and Christopher walked away “You two have an adorable son” and Buck replied with “Thank You”.  One year later to the day and The Buckley-Diaz family had become an official CANON family.
3x11 “Seize the Day”
Tumblr media
Chimney and Eddie had a conversation in Eddie’s dining room while Buck was in the living room horse playing with Christopher in 3x11 “Seize the Day”. After Chimney asked Eddie, “Don’t you think it’s weird that we spend 50 something hours a week together and we still hang out?” Eddie said, “No. What’s that saying, you have the family you’re born into and the one you choose. Well, that’s what the 118 is, the family we chose.”  Eddie glanced over at Buck and Christopher and then smiled at Chimney after Chimney looked at his brother Albert.  Buck entered the kitchen where his blood sister Maddie was and when he tried to get a piece of food, she smacked his hand.  They had a quick conversation and she said “Because it’s what you do when you’re invited to someone’s house. You don’t show up empty handed”.  Then Buck said, “This is Eddie’s house I’m not really a guest.”  Two points should be taken from their conversations: (1) Eddie was saying ‘I chose Buck to be a part of my family with Christopher and I don’t care what anyone else thinks’ and (2) Buck’s comment was meant to alert the audience that he feels at home in Eddie’s house because that’s where his family lives and he’s there a lot, kind of like he already lives there.  It’s the family both Buck and Eddie chose.
3x12 “Fools”
Tumblr media
Buck and Eddie were in Buck’s loft in 3x12 “Fools” talking about Christopher’s skateboarding mishap. It was another domestic scene with them drinking beers talking about their son Christopher.  Buck tried to get Eddie to see that there’s always another way to help Christopher so that he could still participate in activities but they would have to think outside of the box.  By the end of the episode, Buck and Eddie had built Christopher and adaptable skateboard so that he could ride it.  This was one of the last scenes the two of them would be in inside of Buck’s loft.
Season 4
4x3 “Future Tense”
Tumblr media
Eddie, Buck and Christopher are all in the living room of Eddie’s house in 4x3 “Future Tense”. While Buck and Christopher were playing video games, Eddie was rounding up all the technologically advanced gadgets placing them in a pile on the table.  When he unplugged their video game, there was a discussion about Eddie overreacting to smart technology and then Christopher said, “Buck can we go to your house and play video games?”.  Buck looked at Eddie and Eddie gave Buck a spousal look that said, ‘You know better and you are supposed to be on my side’.  Buck then said, “Sorry kid. It looks like we’re going to be playing it old school for a while”.  There were two points to be taken from this scene: (1) Eddie and Buck were meant to be seen as Christopher’s parents and (2) Eddie expected Buck to step up and parent Christopher by saying no to him sometimes.  They were already in Eddie’s house so they were showing how domestic and comfortable they were as a family.
4x8 “Breaking Point”
Tumblr media
Buck was babysitting Christopher while Eddie went on a date.  When Eddie came home in 4x8 “Breaking Point” Buck said, “You’re late” and Eddie said, “There was construction on Sunset, I had to take a detour”.  Eddie asked if Chris was already in bed and Buck said he was after he did some negotiating. This scene and the one before it with Eddie’s date being interrupted was meant to show the audience that (1) Eddie’s family was already at home (Eddie’s house) and (2) Ana wasn’t ever meant to be Eddie’s endgame especially since he was apprehensive about introducing her to Christopher as his girlfriend.  Also when Christopher freaked out and broke the salad bowl, the audience was supposed to realize that Buck was already in the place of being Christopher’s parent so there was no need for Eddie to date Ana.
4x14 “Survivors”
Tumblr media
After Eddie got shot, recuperated in the hospital and was discharged, Buck drove him home.  When they arrived at the end of 4x14 “Survivors”, Buck remained at the front door smiling at Eddie and Christopher.  The scene never showed Buck entering the house but the point of the scene was to illustrate that even though Eddie was with Ana and Taylor had just told Buck she wanted him, Eddie, Buck and Christopher were still a family.  TPTB were showing the audience that Buck will always be in Eddie and Christopher’s lives even when both of them were dating other people.
Season 5
5x4 “Home and Away”
Tumblr media
Eddie went to Buck’s loft in 5x4 “Home and Away” to care for him after Chimney punched Buck in the face.  They were on Buck’s balcony during their conversation.  The inference was to show Eddie and Buck’s relationship was not where it had been prior to 4x6 “Jinx” after Eddie started dating Ana and 4x14 “Survivors” after Buck started dating Taylor.  This would be the last time Eddie would be at the loft for the remainder of season 5; therefore the audience would only see Buck inside of the Diaz residence, which is also the place where he feels at home, for the remainder of the season.
5x11 “Outside Looking In”
Tumblr media
Eddie was struggling with his new job in 5x11 “Outside Looking In” and he started isolating himself.  He invited Buck and his girlfriend over to his house for dinner but the scene was setup to show Buck’s girlfriend was the one who was outside looking into The Buckley-Diaz family.  When Eddie went into the kitchen, Buck followed him and tried to get Eddie to talk to him about the thing that was bothering him.  Eddie told Buck to “Move On” which he didn’t really mean but he was pushing Buck away again just like he did after the lawsuit.  The point of the kitchen scene was to show that Eddie was trying to push Buck out of his life so that he wouldn’t realize how miserable Eddie had become after he quit the 118. They missed each other and even though they weren’t physically separated, they were miles apart emotionally.  Also Eddie was still pissed at Buck because he was still with Taylor after he told Eddie to breakup with Ana in 5x2 “Desperate Times”.  The audience was supposed to infer that Eddie’s kitchen was for breakups and in order for them to be back where they were in 3x9, Buck would have to clean up his own messy life first.
5x13 “Fear-O-Phobia”
Tumblr media
Eddie reached his breaking point in 5x13 “Fear-O-Phobia” when he tried to complete a therapy assignment which included him contacting people he served with in the Army.  He was already missing Buck because he had completely isolated himself from him in 5x11, so he punched the walls in his bedroom with his bare hands and smashed all his furniture with a baseball bat.  Christopher heard it and called Buck.  Buck rushed over and broke down Eddie’s bedroom door to find out what happened.  He entered and saw all the damage that Eddie had done and then he heard him crying. He went over to Eddie and asked him “What’s going on?” and Eddie responded with “They’re all dead!”. After Eddie calmed down, Buck put Christopher to bed and went into the dining room to talk to Eddie. Eddie explained his therapy assignment to Buck and when Buck asked Eddie “What are you afraid of?” and Eddie responded with “That I’ll never feel normal again’, please note they were not just discussing Eddie’s Army related traumas. Eddie felt like he wouldn’t feel normal again without Buck by his side. This was hindsight to 3x6 and 3x9 when Buck made Eddie talk to him about his anger regarding the lawsuit.  Since Eddie didn’t want to bring Buck into the mess that he made of his own life, he pushed his one true love away.  The isolation was killing him but just like Buck silently promised him in 3x9, he would always be there for him, he was there to support Eddie through whatever he needed.  This was the first time the audience saw Buck in Eddie’s bedroom and while a person’s bedroom is normally very tidy, Eddie’s was smashed to pieces in order to symbolize that it had to be rebuilt by the two of them for when he and Buck started their lives over by being together as a CANON couple.  The physical mess in Eddie’s bedroom was representative of the figurative mess that still plagues the two of them.  It includes The Shooting, The Will, The Hostage Situation and The Breakdown because these are things they have to discuss before they can officially start their relationship.
5x14 “Dumb Luck”
Tumblr media
When Eddie returned from a therapy appointment in 5x14 “Dumb Luck”, he entered his house and went into the dining room where Buck was waiting for him.  Buck asked him “How’d it go?” and Eddie responded with “Usual. Crack myself open for fifty minutes and came out feeling like I was hit by a bus”. Then Buck said, “I think that means it’s working”.  Eddie then asked him about Christopher and Buck explained he was doing his homework. This scene included two points that should have been inferred by the audience: (1) Buck and Eddie are at their best when they are together with Christopher as a family and (2) Eddie was starting to feel better because Buck was back by his side in the role of his HUSBAND partner.  The scene was very domestic and it easily showed how they will be in future seasons once they are a CANON couple.
5x17 “Hero Complex”
Tumblr media
Eddie was packing Christopher’s suitcase while Buck watched and played with some of Christopher’s dinosaurs in 5x17 “Hero Complex”.  They had a conversation about their parents while they were in their son’s Christopher’s bedroom which is foreshadowing for both of them when they have to talk to their own parents either in separate conversations or as a united front about their romantic relationship.  Their conversation reminded the audience about Buck’s wacko parents and Eddie’s controlling parents.  It will be interesting to see how they will react to Buck and Eddie after they tell them about their relationship.
5x18 “Starting Over”
Tumblr media
Buck and Eddie were repairing the walls in Eddie’s bedroom during their last scene together in 5x18 “Starting Over” which happened to have taken place inside of one of their residences for season 5.  It ended in the most private and intimate space inside of Eddie’s home.  The first and only time in CANON where they showed Buck in Eddie’s bedroom was in 5x13 after Eddie had punched holes in the walls and smashed up all his furniture.  That was significant because his mess had finally reached hoarder level and Buck was there like always to help him.  During their conversation as they repaired the walls, Buck finally realized after Eddie commented on him needing a reason to avoid going home, that he needed to end it with Taylor. That represented Buck cleaning up his own mess so that he and Eddie could start working towards their future.  This scene was foreshadowing for their future as a CANON couple and it showed the audience that Eddie and Buck were starting over not only as work partners but also how they are about to be domestic/life partners as well.  They repaired the bedroom together which allowed them both to start their joint healing process.  This signified the start of their new lives together and once they talk about everything that’s separated them in the past, they will be able to move forward and turn Eddie’s bedroom into their bedroom.
The show has continued to be very LOUD about the direction they are planning to take with regards to Buck and Eddie’s relationship.  In 5B alone they showed the two of them all over Eddie’s house. It started with them eating in the dining room then going into the kitchen in 5x11; then into Eddie’s destroyed bedroom in 5x13; then back to the dining room in 5x14; then to Christopher’s room in 5x17, with the finale ending with Eddie and Buck repairing the walls in Eddie’s bedroom in 5x18.  Reminder: season 3 started with Eddie entering Buck’s bedroom in the loft and season 5 ended with Eddie and Buck in Eddie’s bedroom preparing to start over.  They were both single by the end of the episode which could mean TPTB are closer than ever to making them CANON. Will they become a CANON couple in season 6?  Only TPTB know the answer to that question.
TL:DR Buck will become a permanent resident at Eddie’s house which means he will be living there with Eddie and Christopher.  There will no longer be a need for the loft.

One thing my mind's hung up on is the parallel between the Miraculous s5 finale and the ending of the 2002 Spider-Man movie.
Every time I see,
"Make sure that Adrien never knows about the villain I was,"
all I think of is Norman's last words being,
"Peter...don't tell Harry."

ML Season 5 Finale
It’s the show’s pattern that at the end of the season Marinette makes a mistake and must face the repercussions in the next season. She forgot to change back when meeting with Master Fu and she lost her mentor, and she had to deal with new responsibilities as a guardian with hardly any experience. She mistook Félix for Adrien and she lost the Miraculouses. What mistake has she made now?
She fought alone when she said that they should fight together when she was hiding in the kitchen. But what was she supposed to do? Although I totally understand that it would be great for Adrien to fight his own father, it’s already been established that when Adrien finds out his father is the villain in dramatic circumstances, it doesn’t end well. Adrien recognising his unstable state and giving up his powers was a sign of maturity. He also had the occasion to fight his father as Chat Noir and tell him off (S5 Representation). Of course it’s not nearly as satisfying as Gabriel knowing the truth about Chat Noir, but it’s also more in line with what the show has been telling us.
She trusted Gabriel. However, eventually it turned out OK. Gabriel was forced to listen to Emilie and chose to save Nathalie who died because of his actions. This wasn’t a selfless sacrifice, but it wasn’t a totally selfish action either. In that moment it was the best possible outcome, because he was dying anyway due to his own wrong choices.
Marinette lost the Butterfly Miraculous. I’d call it an accident, not a mistake, and you can’t really learn anything from an accident as opposed to mistake; but in the pessimistic variant this is her mistake and the consequence is Lila becoming a supervillain; Gabriel is “redeemed” and Adrien will never know the truth about his father.
Marinette lied about Gabriel dying a hero. I think that is the mistake that will have the greatest impact on season 6. What’s more, this mistake is related to Adrien (she doesn’t want to hurt him), just like her previous mistakes.
We can see signs that her mistake may have bad consequences in the future:
The scene with the shining, smirking statue (resembling Chloé’s statue) and Tomoe talking about continuing Gabriel’s legacy is rather disturbing. If it were Ms Bustier giving speech and the statue were less shiny and more serious, the scene would give less villanous impression. The statue is a clear, visible symbol of the lie.
During the kissing scene we can hear a little worrisome and sad theme. If it’s a happy ending, why is the soundtrack not happier? Marinette and Adrien seem very happy, but there’s the lie between them.
Also during the kissing scene we can see white butterflies flying around. It may look hopeful, because Monarch was defeated—but we also know that Nooroo is not free. That changes the idylic picture into something more sinister. Lila’s got a lot of information from Nathalie and the computer about Gabriel, Monarch and Miraculouses. She may reveal it in a villanous way to harm Ladybug and everybody else. She may pretend to be a new hero and accuse Ladybug of cooperating with Monarch. I hope we’ll be shown what Lila really wants and what she’s up to.
Adrien
Ladybug probably won’t tell Chat Noir about Monarch’s true identity to keep the secret safe. She may also convince Plagg not to say anything. Nathalie most likely will also stay silent not to reveal herself as the villanous Mayura. I think it will be Lila who will reveal that Gabriel was the villain. That will make Adrien realise that Nathalie and Ladybug haven’t told him the truth. He may feel betrayed, angry and resentful.
I hope we’ll see more angry Adrien. For a long time he tried to be a perfect son and in the last season he started to be more aggressive as Chat Noir. Learning to express more anger and frustration as Adrien, not as Chat Noir, would be much healthier than destroying the world with his superpowers. I hope that there won’t be too much Chat Blanc / Anti-Chat, because such plots aren’t really going anywhere, they only undermine Adrien’s ability to control himself and the future of Adrienette. In the last episodes Adrien grew up and managed to recognise that he shouldn’t transform in such an unstable state, so I hope he will continue to mature and be able to deal with terrible news without destroying everything. And if they’ll keep pushing the Chat Blanc narrative, then maybe Adrien shouldn’t be Chat Noir anymore, if he’s apparently that unstable, and maybe Gabriel was right all along, controlling his son so tightly.
Nonetheless I truly hope he will destroy that terrible statue.
Reveal?
I didn’t expect the reveal and I don’t think it’ll happen in season 6. Those few times we’ve already seen it, it turned bad, but maybe it can strengthen them with Gabriel gone, if they reveal themselves out of trust instead of it being forced by external circumstances or by Ladybug trying to control the situation.
The superheroes
Frankly speaking, I was sort of happy that at the beginning of season 5 Marinette had no additional Miraculouses and Ladybug and Chat Noir were again the only superheroes in Paris. I’m afraid that with so many superheroes season 6 will be rather chaotic.
