if you were to make a vampire au for shisui, how'd you think you'd do it?

would vampires be something well known? would they be rumored but dismissed? (im personally fond of aus where the mc suffers in silence)

Would it be before or after shisui's death? How would he deal with the sun?(if your vampires have that issue) If he's in the village, how would he source blood? would he be in denial at first? terrified of what he's becoming? Would he pretend to be the same? would he pull away? would others notice?

Honestly my first thought was (slightly cracky) that Shisui's Mangekyou is just... !Vampire! 😅 Like wow nice Genjutsu eyes, my Mangekyou makes me drink blood and get sunburn but I think I'm immoral now anyway so~

Or it could be a really taboo Uchiha bloodline failsafe! It's how Madara has stayed alive, changing him was how he saved Obito, and Obito fished Shisui from the river and bit him to keep the legacy and have an 'inside man' in konoha (plus working alongside Kakashi) only for Shisui to absolutely not get the memo that Konoha itself is supposed to be his enemy, not that his weird cousin Obito (totally living in the woods, which is fucked up, but also valid because the family is in shambles and Shisui can sympathize with extreme escapism) did him a solid by patching him up to enable Shisui to go and rip out all the problems and fix the village... It's handy that Danzo can't kill him again tho lmao

On another tangent... Maybe Fire Country turned against the 'monster families' like the Uchiha Vampires (Kakashi werewolf, need I say more?) And so the Senju Dryads made a new settlement, Konoha, with the Uchiha and boom! Monster-ville! The problem for Naruto can either be just general distaste for overpowered and mischievous foxes or it could be that the Kyuubi attack threatened to expose them to humans and now the whole village is blaming Naruto for the spike in persecution etc etc... Interesting things to think on....

The angst fest? Well I tried but then I got to "shisui, neck deep in self loathing and denial, is starving for blood on a mission and ends up gorging on their enemies and is terrified of Kakashi's reaction but Kakashi is just straight up horny lmao" and it all derailed lmaooooo

Great AU idea, anon! And Shisui's so pretty and Tenzo so emotionally awkward that we could even recreate a Twilight AU spoof with this lmaoooo

A/N: the angsssst! but it's okay I love angst it's what I do haha but mostly as long as it has a happy ending because we deserve that as a treat as do they. And aw thanks sm!

CHARACTERS: Shisui Uchiha, Minato Namikaze, Yamato

SHISUI UCHIHA

Shisui is usually the calm and collected one no matter the situation. He can take out any enemy. Always has a plan and can lighten any situation with a lighthearted quip should it call for it.

But this, oh god nothing can prepare him for this.

You're not supposed to be able to get hit. Your entire jutsu is supposed to be impenetrable. More so than that, he's supposed to be your eyes in case things go wrong, your back up.

The enemy found a weak spot though—pulled a thread in the seam everything falls apart right in front of him.

Shisui feels so powerless as he calls your name.

'I've got you.' He says, catching you just before you hit the ground.

He ducks for cover as kunai come at him from all sides. The rest of the squad focus on the guy who got you. Taking down the rest of the enemies is a sinch in comparison. He can't even think about anything else except getting you out and alive.

When he makes it through the thick of the trees he feels you tremble in his arms.

'Shisui.' You call his name, same as you have a thousand times before but this time it's so quiet, almost ghostly.

Shisui is terried to look down but he has to. He can't let you down by betraying his fears. He needs to make you feel safe.

'H-hey.' He doesn't mean to let his voice slip and tremble as he sees how you don't look so good. 'It's going to be alright. We're almost there.'

You manage a nod.

By the time he makes it to the medics you begin to fade and he panics. They take you off his hands and into the tent to tend to your wounds.

Shisui spends the whole time pacing outside pale as a ghost.

He can't sit or stand still. He's a jolting mess. He can barely accept the water or food offered to him by his comrades.

It's the longest wait of his life waiting for you to wake up.

'Shisui.' Is the first thing you say as you come to.

He cries he's so overcome with emotion. Takes your hand and drops his face against it. Poor Shisui is so exhausted and has been so scared he just loves you so much.

MINATO NAMIKAZE

Guilt overwhelms Minato as he sits in the hospital room waiting for you to wake up.

He wasn't there when you had been injured because he held so much faith in your ability to hold your own and now he can't help but blame himself for being so carless. He should have been there. He should have been with you.

It's not that now he believes you can't handle yourself, it's that he should have been there anyway. Anyone can slip up. Anything can happen. This is proof of that and he knows that now.

If he could go back and do things differently—

No it's too late for that. He would do right and better by you now.

He stays by your side each day waiting for you to wake up. He speaks to you, tells you little things about each day that are trivial but also deep things like how much he cares for you.

'I'm sorry.' He whispers, stroking your hand. 'I love you, I'll be here when you wake up.'

He lets go of your hand and walks over to the window to look out onto the village below.

Everything seems smaller, holds less meaning without you here awake beside him. It's like something is missing. He's no longer quite whole.

There's a stiring behind him and Minato turns wide eyed to find you coming to.

He can't quite believe it when your eyes flutter open.

'Mmm.' You groan. 'Damn that hurts.'

A soft chuckle escapes him and then a few tears too. Just a flood of relief hits at the signs of you being there.

Then you turn to him, a little more awake.

'Hey.' You say. 'What are you doing all the way over there, huh?'

And that's all it takes for him to just crowd you in the tightest (but also careful) hug.

'I'm so glad you're awake.' He whispers. 'I'm so sorry.'

'Don't be sorry.' You assure him. 'I'm glad you're here though.'

He pulls away and looks you deep in the eyes. 'I love you.'

It's enough to take your breath away. 'I love you, too.'

YAMATO

The image of you jumping in front of him to protect him is something Yamato will never forget. He's not sure he can forgive you for it either if you don't wake up.

He knows neither of you had a choice but—

Seeing you there impaled is just not something he can ever forgive.

You should have let it hit him. Village be damned he'd rather—okay he would not rather hundreds of other people die instead of you getting injured but that's besides the point! He should never of had to see you that way. If you didn't worm your way into his life and make him care then—

Oh who is he kidding.

Yamato could never be mad at you.

He's mad at himself. He should never have agreed to put you in this situation in the first place. There should have been a better strategy. He should have thought up a better strategy.

'It was an impossible situation, stop beating yourself up over it and just be there instead.'

Yamato lifts his head.

'Kakashi.' He balls his fists against his pants then sighs unfurling them. 'I know it's just—'

'Just that you think you could have strategised yourself out of an impossible situation now that it's over.'

'This is different.'

'It's always different with the people we care about.' He gives him a knowing expression. 'With the people we love.'

'I don't need a pep talk right now.'

'No but you also don't need to sit here waiting for someone to scold you like you've done something wrong.'

Yamato gives him a doubtful look.

'You both did your duty and what you wanted to do so now you ought to both be together for the waking up part.' Kakashi sighs. 'Neither of you are dying today.'

Yamato takes a deep breath letting it settle in his lungs before he exhales again. Kakashi was right. He needs to be by your side.

'Okay.' Is all he says before he stands and heads to your room, leaving his senpai behind.

The tension is palpable as he enters your room. The machines beeping and your assisted breathing fill his ears. He sits beside you timid as he shifts closer.

'Sorry, I took so long.' Is all he whispers as he wakes for you to wake.

Your eyes flicker open a few moments later as if to let him know it's alright. He's not mad anymore, only relieved. Loved.

Love me Mercilessly Kakashi x Akami Chapter 18: Small word count: 4k warnings: Violence, mentions of gore, trauma/Ptsd previous chapters [x]

Returning home from a brutal mission in Kiri Akami unintentionally lashes out at Shisui. Struggling to keep her deeds in ANBU separate from her life in the village Akami finds solace spending time at the Uchiha Compound; specifically with the company of a 3 year old Sasuke.

Sasuke was getting so big, walking and talking with ease. He still had trouble saying Itachi’s name so he stuck mostly to ‘Nii-san.’ S’s proved just as challenging so Shisui sounded more like ‘hisui.’ But Sasuke had no problem with his A’s, though he almost always called her ‘Kami-chan.’

When Akami came around to the backyard Shisui grabbed her and swung her around. He kissed her a dozen times before setting her back on the ground.

Sasuke ran over to them as fast as his little legs would take him.

“Kami-chan! Kami-chan,” he sang.

Akami scooped him up the way Shisui had her. She sat beside Itachi on the blanket he dragged out back Sasuke still in her arms. He reached up and smooshed her face between tiny hands and kissed her on the cheek. His mouth was open and he did nothing to move his lips; it was more like he tried to eat her cheek. He’d never done that before.

Shisui grabbed Sasuke out of her arms and pretended he was mad holding him in the air giving him a harmless shake.

“You can’t go around kissing people's girlfriends' little man!” Shisui teased, tickling the kid until he squealed with joy. Once free he crawled back towards Akami and was rewarded with a peck to the top of his head. She’d never done that before either.

“Kamichan what’s that?” Sasuke asked, poking her forearm with pudgy fingers.

“Sasuke, it's rude to point,” Itachi said calmly.

Akami unwrapped the bandages from her wrist and Sasuke scooted between her legs for a closer look, turning her hand to watch the crisp black lines curve around her wrist.

“It’s my summoning tattoo. You know how Shisui and your brother have a contract with the crows?” Sasuke nodded. “I have one with snakes.”

Sasuke cocked his head to the side, he always thought crows were the only option.

“Can you ummon anything?”

“I don’t see why not.” She said,

“Does Hisui-san have a tattoo?” He asked, directing all his attention to Akami, not bothering to consult with Shisui at all. Akami always had an answer for his endless reign of questions.

“No, you don’t have to have one but it makes it easier sometimes. Do you want me to show you how it works?”

Sasuke nodded furiously.

Itachi himself had been curious and he watched as she extended her forearm. Gently nipping the skin of her thumb enough to draw a drop of blood. Sasuke gasped, upset but far too curious to avert his eyes. Afraid he’d miss it if he so much as blinked. She swiped her bloodied thumb up the length of her inked forearm. A copper bellied water snake appeared in a cloud of smoke.

Summoning Ryu was a lot more practical now that he trained to use his chakra to maintain a smaller size, sort of like a henge. He would no longer level a Forest; unless of course Akami wanted him to do just that.

She held out her palm for Ryu to slither into. The dark snake twisted himself up her arm just as the tattoo had. Balancing himself at the end of her wrist to hold his head up and inspect Sasuke. Sasuke wasn’t frightened in the least as he stared at the snake in amazement.

“This is Ryu, he is loyal to me and me to him. Ryu, this is Sasuke. I am loyal to him as well.” She said, earning a wide smile from Sasuke.

“Can I pet him?” Sasuke asked Akami.

“Why don’t you ask him yourself?” She said,

“He can talk?!”

“I most certainly can, far better than you I imagine.” Ryu spat.

Sasuke frowned and Akami fixed her summons with a venomous glare. Ryu hissed lazily.

Akami gave Sasuke a firm jiggle, encouraging him to try again.

“Can I pet you?”

Ryu didn’t answer but lowered his head for Sasuke to gently stroke the black scales behind his chartruese eyes.

Sneak Peak!

🍁Love me Mercilessly🍁 Chapter 31: Kakashi x Akami As mentioned here's the little snippet from the next chapter. I promise the rest of Chapter 31 will be out soon, I just need to unscramble my brain.

Kakashi stopped by the Hokage’s office to pick up his assignments. Now that things in Anbu were settled there were stacks of backlogged missions to get through. The biggest downside to being good at what you did was that the Hokage always expected more. He met up with Tenzo and Yugao to dish out their assignments and training schedules, he wouldn’t need to head out until tomorrow. He walked all the way back home and stood in front of his apartment door staring at the keys in his palm. He brushed his thumb over the tiny shrinky-dink snake keychain, it looked just like Ryū, Akami’s summons. She had a Pakkun. They made them one night with Gai.

He and Gai were 18, far too old to be playing with shrinky dinks but Gai was super excited to make himself (and anyone who asked) a little collectable Ningame. He invited himself over to Kakashi’s apartment to make them. Akami showed up on her own accord with a six pack after a fight with Shisui, needless to say they all drank too much and made the ugliest shrinky dinks possible. Gai passed out propped up against the couch and Akami got really into, channeling her rage into making the perfect Ryū, she hovered over it and wouldn’t let Kakashi see until she was done. She had her thinking face on for so long Kakashi thought it might get stuck like that. She threw a colored pencil at his head, “stop staring at me! Make your own!” So he made Pakkun. For Christmas that year they exchanged them. He’s had Ryū ever since. Kakashi sighed and put his keys back in his pocket and leaped over the railing straight down the staircase to the ground floor. He smiled when he saw Pakkun still on her key ring in the bowl in the entryway. Her bedroom door was cracked open, he assumed she was the gigantic lump beneath the covers based on the stuffy sound of her breathing. He didn’t want to wake her so he made himself at home on the couch and pulled out his book.

A boring game. (Iruka x Kakashi)

Summary: In which Kakashi thinks spin the bottle is a very boring game...until the bottle lands on Iruka.

“So,” Anko exclaims, victoriously holding up an empty bottle of sake, “Who wants to play spin the bottle.”

Her suggestion is met with excited cheers, making Kakashi frown – he’s never heard of this game before.

“What’s spin the bottle?” he asks.

Obito, sitting next to him on the couch, scoffs, “Of course you wouldn’t know.”

“It’s a kissing game,” Asuma interjects amicably, taking a sip of his beer.

“A kissing game?” Kakashi lifts his eyebrow, “What do you mean?”

“It goes like this – one person spins the bottle and then has to kiss whoever it lands on,” Asuma explains, as Obito lets out a deep sigh, “And then the process repeats, only now the person it landed on does the spinning.”

Kakashi looks at Asuma, confused – games are supposed to be exciting and fun, and what Asuma has just described sounds so…boring.

Why would anyone want to play that?

Kakashi had no intention of going to the party at Anko’s apartment that evening – his only plans included a training session followed by a very long nap – until he ran into Iruka at the training grounds.

“Kakashi,” Iruka smiled at him, warm and bright, “Are you going to Anko’s apartment tonight?”

Kakashi vaguely remembered Rin mentioning something about Anko throwing a party.

“I don’t think so,” he shrugged, “I was hoping to catch up on some sleep.”

“Oh, come on,” Iruka insisted, “It’ll be fun.”

Kakashi wanted to refuse – but the hopeful look in Iruka’s eyes and his bright smile stopped him. Kakashi could never say “no” to Iruka when he looked at him like that - and, if he were honest with himself, it was becoming a problem. It was a miracle that other ANBU haven’t caught up on how Iruka managed to get away with his pranks any time Kakashi was on duty.

“I just can’t seem to say “no” to the kid,” Kakashi complained to Rin once, hoping that she’ll help him understand what was going on with him – Rin was good with things like that – but she just chuckled pointedly.

“Are you going to play?” Asuma’s voice distracts Kakashi from his thoughts.

“Huh?” Kakashi replies, startled, “Ah, no – you go ahead and have fun.”

Asuma and Obito get up from the couch to join a circle of people sitting on the living room floor. Kakashi’s not surprised – it was hardly a secret that Asuma was utterly smitten with Kurenai and Obito with Rin, and both of them are already in the circle.

Asuma doesn’t need this silly game, Kakashi smirks, watching his friends sit down, Kurenai would probably kiss him if he asked. But Obito – Obito needs all the help he can get.

An unfamiliar, cold feeling uncoils in his chest when he sees Iruka join the players. Iruka glances around, then lifts his head and meets Kakashi’s gaze. There’s a question in his eyes, and Kakashi knows that if he looks too long, he might give in – but the game is stupid and boring and not something he would ever play - so Kakashi forces himself to look away.

Kakashi’s not the only one who isn’t playing. Shisui and Itachi Uchiha remain seated on the windowsill they’ve claimed earlier that evening, and Kakashi’s hardly surprised. The relationship between them has been an open secret for a while, and, given how deep the feelings ran, Kakashi fully expected the two to elope as soon as Itachi turned sixteen. Which, according to Obito, would inevitably lead to all kinds of scandals and drama within the clan, but Kakashi has long understood that any matter involving an Uchiha had no chance of staying drama-free.

Ibiki and Aoba abstain as well. The two haven’t moved from their places on the other couch, and it’s evident to Kakashi that they have decided that their time’s better spent drinking than playing silly games.

A wise decision, Kakashi thinks, looking back to the people sitting on the floor.

The game starts – and it’s as dull as Kakashi had expected.

He watches Anko kiss Hayate, who kisses Raido, who gets to kiss Rin.

How unfortunate for Obito, Kakashi thinks distantly.

Rin spins the bottle, and it lands on Asuma, who gives her a quick peck on the lips before spinning the bottle himself – it lands on Shizune.

Kakashi can barely suppress a yawn. Iruka was right, the party was fun – at least until everyone started playing this stupid game – but now exhaustion is catching up with him. He cannot help but feel utterly bored…

…Until Genma spins the bottle and it lands on Iruka.

He watches as Genma places his hand on Iruka’s cheek, then slowly leans closer, and, suddenly, Kakashi feels a lump in his throat. He doesn’t want to see this, and yet he cannot look away. Genma kisses Iruka then – slowly, eagerly, burying his fingers in his hair to pull him closer. Just the way Kakashi always wanted to kiss Iruka.

The thought feels like a jolt of electricity, sending a shiver down his spine, and his head spins. What’s wrong with him, why is he thinking about Iruka that way?

It’s Iruka’s turn to spin the bottle now, and Kakashi’s breath hitches in his throat as his heart skips a beat. He doesn’t want to see Iruka kissing someone else.

The bottle lands on Tenzo, who – Kakashi can swear – quickly glances back at him over his shoulder before giving Iruka the briefest and the most chaste kiss that Kakashi has seen that evening. Kakashi sighs, overcome with a feeling of relief, and, as the game carries on, prays that the bottle never lands on Iruka again.

It must have been his lucky day – mercifully, the game dies down after a few rounds.

Kakashi gets up from the couch – he realizes he needs to talk to Iruka. He doesn’t know what he will say, and he’s scared, but the feeling bubbling in his chest makes it clear that if he stays quiet any longer, he might just explode. However, before he can reach Iruka, Guy appears in his path and attempts to rope Kakashi into a drinking contest. Drinking more could give him the necessary courage, Kakashi reasons and agrees.

In hindsight, he should have realized that a drinking contest with Guy wasn’t the smartest idea. By the time he loses – with an embarrassing point difference – Kakashi is so dizzy, he can hardly walk straight. Still, there’s only one thought in his mind – he needs to talk to Iruka, but he cannot see him as he looks around the room.

Where is he? Kakashi thinks, frantically, Has he left?

By the apartment door, Kakashi runs into Rin.

“He left a few minutes ago,” somehow, Rin seems to know who he’s looking for without even asking, “You should go now – you can still catch him.”

Kakashi does just that. As he rushes down the stairs into a small alley, he sees Iruka rounding the corner to another street.

“Iruka,” Kakashi calls out.

Iruka stops, then turns around, letting Kakashi catch up to him.

“I’m sorry, Kakashi,” Iruka offers with an apologetic smile, “I didn’t know you were leaving as well, else I would have waited for you. But you seemed so engrossed into your drinking contest with Guy, so I figured you’ll stay for longer.”

“That contest was definitely more than I could handle,” Kakashi laughs awkwardly, and Iruka nods but doesn’t respond.

As they walk side by side towards Iruka’s house, the silence stretches, and Kakashi desperately tries to come up with something to say. Usually, the silence between them was comfortable, but now Kakashi feels something heavy hanging in the air.

“Thank you for convincing me to go to the party,” he starts, “It was rather fun.”

“It was,” Iruka readily agrees, “I knew you’d enjoy it – you should come out more often.”

“And that game you played looked rather interesting,” the alcohol is working its miracles because the words escape Kakashi’s lips before he can stop himself.

“Spin the bottle?” Iruka glances at him, puzzled, “It’s ok. But if you thought it was interesting, why didn’t you play?”

Kakashi looks into Iruka’s wondering eyes and feels his heart race. Since there is so much that cannot be said, he simply states, “Too many people.”

“Oh?” there is an unmistakable glint of amusement in Iruka’s eyes, “Well then, enlighten me, how many people isn’t “too many” for spin the bottle.”

“Two,” Kakashi shrugs nonchalantly, even though his own heartbeat threatens to drown him.

“Two?” Iruka laughs, “But then they won’t have anyone to kiss but each other.”

“Exactly,” Kakashi nods, then reaches out and grasps Iruka’s arm. Surprised, Iruka stops in his tracks and turns to Kakashi.

“For example, right now,” Kakashi continues, trying to hide the desperate flutter of his heart behind confident demeanor, “I think there’s a perfect number of people for a game like that.”

Heat rises in Kakashi’s cheeks as Iruka takes a step towards him.

“Oh my,” he chuckles, eyes not leaving Kakashi’s face, “What if I told you that I wouldn’t mind skipping the game part?”

Kakashi stares at him, confused until the realization dawns upon him.

Oh.

His gaze darts to Iruka’s almost indecently beautiful lips, then back to his eyes. Oh.

“Very well,” Kakashi leans closer to Iruka as one of his hands comes up to his mask.

“Do you want me to close my eyes?” Iruka asks, and Kakashi shakes his head.

“No,” Kakashi replies – he wants Iruka to see him.

Kakashi’s breath hitches in his throat as he slowly pulls down his mask, but as he sees the look on Iruka’s face, his heart soars – Iruka’s eyes are bright and full of wonder, and there’s so much indescribable tenderness in his gaze that it almost hurts.

“You are very handsome,” Iruka breathes out, closing the distance between them, “But I already knew that.”

Kakashi doesn’t remember leaning in – only the moment his lips touch Iruka’s. Though soft and featherlight at first, the kiss makes Kakashi completely dizzy, and he wraps his arms around Iruka’s waist, pulling him closer. Heat rises in Kakashi’s chest and spreads through his body as Iruka deepens the kiss, tangling his fingers in Kakashi’s hair. Iruka’s lips are so eager against his, so full of ardent hunger, and Kakashi lets himself get lost in the sensations.

If this was the last thing that happened to him, he knows he’d die a happy man.

To Kakashi’s chagrin, the kiss ends far too soon, but, as they pull away, flushed and breathless, he cannot help but smile – Iruka’s quite the sight with deep blush blooming on his cheeks, his hair tousled, and his lips swollen from their kisses.

“That was…” Kakashi breathes out, lost for words.

“Yeah,” Iruka chuckles, pressing his forehead into Kakashi’s shoulder.

Kakashi wraps his arms around Iruka, holding him tight.

“You know,” Iruka says, pulling away slightly, “I think you’ve convinced me – playing this game when it’s just the two of us is significantly more fun.”

Iruka’s smile – bright and warm – makes happiness bubble in Kakashi’s chest.

“Then how about we always play when it’s just the two of us?” Kakashi murmurs, leaning closer.

“I think that could be arranged,” Iruka laughs, then pulls him in for another kiss.
