Girl like. The reason he said "this is how it should be" and faced death with a smile....is cuz he wanted to die. For 2 years he sat there thinking he was worthless and deserved to die. If he hadn’t be shot, his death would’ve been suicide, he was fully planning to die in a gutter somewhere undetected. When saying "this is how it should be" hes literally saying "don’t cry because I’m dying, my death is a good thing actually because I fucking suck and you are better off without me". I don’t think that’s badass even slightly, it’s actually really sad and really shitty. Shinjiro is so convinced that he deserves to die and hates the idea of anyone giving a shit about him because he literally can’t wrap his mind around the idea that he will be missed when he’s gone, that his death is a bad thing actually. And his last words were meant to be comforting because he fully did not intend for anyone to be there when he died, he intended to die alone, so he says them as a reminder that he’s not worth crying over
Personally, if it were me, if I was holding my dying best friend in my arms who was deeply depressed and suicidal and he said "this is how it should be" uh. I wouldn’t admire him for it??? Like am I losing my mind when I say the way this game handles Shinji is bad or is anyone else seeing this too 😰
#its like okay listen i understand the basic math of any persona game they say things and everything they say is actually#very bad when you think about it for more than 3 seconds#like what theyre intending to do with the death of this character is be like oh no your sad friend dies tragically thats so saddddd#but that doesnt mean you cant live a wonderful life full of meaning you cant let grief consume you life is beautiful awagga#and i guess shinji is a specific character whos used cuz i guess its more tragic that he never realized he was worthy of life and shit#and i guess its also like ‘dont be like this guy who let grief consume him and then died you gotta Be Different’#which i dont. love. that last part cuz if you think about shinji and what led him down this road#its like. of course hes depressed! he accidentally killed a woman with a child when he was 16!#he himself is an orphan and he just made some other kid an orphan as well and it happened cuz his persona went out of control#which very much can translate to ‘this must mean im dangerous and can hurt everyone if im not kept under control’#so of course he isolated himself and believed he was evil and became suicidal like who wouldnt feel that way#like am i supposed to be mad he left sees and took drugs cuz uh while i dont think isolation or Evil Drug is good for his mental health#i dont think him continuing to fight in sees is something he can just easily do again given how he killed someone like he shouldnt have to#be a part of this thing anymore like how would he even safely get castor to not do that??? he cant kill more people on accident!#so yeah like using shinji as an example of bad coping mechanisms is already just. a big fucking oof to me like it just feels like the game#is saying he shouldve gotten over it and simply not be suicidal and stayed on the team. idk if thats the intent but uh it wouldnt faze me#cuz persona games are notoriously awful at writing characters who are traumatized and abused#but what makes everything even worse is how the game kinda like. acts like shinjis death is a stepping stone#like we’re supposed to use it as a wake up call and understand the stakes but keep going on anyways#and akihiko and Ken get. ‘great character development’ according to the game telling you they have now developed#but damn all akihiko is is just repressed he cries for 3 seconds and then is like I SHOULD MAN UP and then neglects a depressed child#shinjis dying words are words to live by now even though they piss me the fuck off like girl am i crazy HES FUCKING#HES TELLING ME NOT TO CRY OVER HIM BECAUSE HE SHOULD BE DEAD ACTUALLY AND THIS IS A GOOD THING ACTUALLY#like if the game wants us to still find meaning in life despite losing someone it just really hurts that shinji has to die for that to work#apparently. cuz the character i see myself in is shinji. not some perfect prettyboy who does everything perfectly and has 4 gfs#his death seems like a punishment for bad behavior. the bad behavior being of course depression and drug use. and im simply supposed to be#better than that if i want to live. and we dont get to form a connection with him cuz thats gayyyyy#and his death is like a NOBLE HEROIC SACRIFICE idk its just such bullshit to me i hate it so bad#how is killing a suicidal guy and then treating it as admirable that he said ‘this is how it should be’ supposed to make me feel#makes me feel sick personally and it ruins the entire game’s theme to me because its fucking shallow and the story is bad and im tired

tristamp ep 5 thoughts pt TWO
wolfwood calling it a mercy kill feels weird when there wasnt even enough info abt rollo. he wasnt exactly running around at vash trying to force him to kill him to finally deliver him to god, at least then it'd fit more, and maybe there could be something else said about vash forcing his ideals on others (at least in stampede so far), but it wasnt convincing enough for me to understand wolfwood's side, esp compared to the other scenarios
it also makes me think abt how livio and wolfwood are technically in the same position here, just not as comically villainous/whatever, and i wonder if its an intentional thing, like showing wolfwood thinks they deserve to die for how they are or what.
stampede also showed him using that narrative doom juice, so theyre probably gonna kill him for the third time in a row, so if he does think he deserves to die (not for his actions, but for what others have done to him), that feels bad...
meryl and roberto continue to stand around and do nothing. if they dont even attempt to broach the topic of the photo to vash in the next ep i'll be annoyed
the wind coming back is weird?? idk if it was supposed to be nice, but it kinda just seems like its a good thing rollo died lmao?? instead of it being bad a child is being sacrificed, maybe if he did get fucking sent to heaven early, then they wouldve got their wind back. which... needless to say, is a bad message lmao. it wasnt even a narrative sacrifice thing for rollo (which i wouldve strongly disagreed with, as well), it just doesnt make sense lol
i dont think elendira was formally introduced, but she had a bio on twitter, so i will say its weird she's im assuming is a happy lab rat stuck in an apparently non aging body. idk if shes still a trans woman, either. she also seems to be narcissistic, or something, kind of like how they seem to be showing zazie, which is... weird. they havent formally introduced her, but its kind of a red flag beyond criticisms of pacing or designs. its very weird
also kinda weird conrad seems to be the only guy responsible for these human experimentations. i feel if they used that cult, it wouldnt be impossible to hand shit down.
nick being in the same car as vash at this point is kinda inconceivable for me concerning stampede lol. the thing in the manga that made them both stand down was vash empathizing with wolfwood, while in stampede wolfwood (a stranger at this point) gets one last jab in to vash where it hurts, theres no opportunity for vash to similarly call him out on something as well bc he doesnt know shit abt him. if that was me, i'd have leared that i shouldnt be telling this guy shit or he'll rub it in my face later. there is no reason they should be together considering.
zazie's design is... weird. not sure how to verbalize my thoughts on it
i guess them trying to give monev the gale (now rollo) a real backstory besides him inexplicably being trained for 20 years to kill vash is something, but also nothing they did here made sense so fsjdsdfhshjds????

Regarding your questions:
Yeah Lorenzo does call him that when he is agitated, just to piss Ava off, which is never a fun time for anybody, but nobody said the Varia have good coping strategies. All Lorenzo knoes is that if he has steam built up he usually provokes ava so they can argue and he can just let out his frustration. In later years that even goes into sexual directions (all consensual).
Ser is close to aaalmost all his sisters. His father turns out went around "experimenting" and trying to impregnate as many women as possible to find out how flame inheritance works and if it is possible to sucessfully try for a child with either multiple flame types or directly a sky flame. Turns out thats not how that works AT ALL and the women p quickly realized he is a piece of shit, which is why Sergeys mother actually directly sought out the other women to support each other. To what Ser knows there could be siblings he doesnt even know of, bc his mother never found them or they didnt want to be in the support group. The kids were raised almost all together at least the first 5 or so (Oldest to youngest: Maria, Chloe, Jingyi, Sergey, Emilia), but even as more children joined them, Ser seems to be the only guy for a good while until 2 of the kids transition in their teens. The whole household is extremely supportive of everybody even tho the women for the most part still primarily cared and raised their own. So Sergey wasn't completely abandoned when his mother died. It was just the incident that happened to Leo that kind of broke him into apathy. His family tried to help but he wouldnt LET them help. Maria and especially Chloe tried the most to snap him out and where the first he contacted when Asuna died (he could NOT catch a god damn break). So he and Chloe are super close and now that he is an adult he wants to support Maria how she supported all of them as the oldest of the kids. Jingyi moves to China after becoming an adult but she visits for chirstmas and keeps letter correspondence with Sergey, which helps him better his mandarin.
Leo knows the most languages as he knows many spoken languages (he can hear fine after all), but also learned several different sign languages. And yes it HAS been beneficial especially before everyone kinda learned some sign language because of him. For example during a mission where they have to get some goods from a dealer, the dealer is deaf and mute so he comminicates exclusively in portugese sign language and hired an interpreter. HOWEVER, this guy he hired is a fucking scam artist and sells highly overprized (which is why they were sent to investigate in the first place) and it turns out that its not the dealer causing trouble but his interpreter. Which Leo picks up on, since they didnt tell anyone Leo CAN hear and call him out on his bullshit. So Leo just frowns and taps Sergeys shoulder, signing that the guy is lying in german, to which Ser loudly proclaims "You're a fucking liar, aren't you?" and trust me, nobody liked hearing that. Leo signs the guy that he shouldnt expect mute people to be easy targets [you son of a bitch], and Lorenzo gets a bit more THREATENING in his approach.
Ser: you rarely get that angry.
Leo: [I don't like people taking advantage of others that are impaired]
Ser: yeah, I get that.
Lorenzo: in any way we're done here, lets leave. Hey Ser, how do I sign [thank you]?
Ser: pft, Lorenzo we just established that Leo can hear just fine.
Lor: I know, dumbass i wanted to broaden my fucking horizon.
And Sergey shows him the signing for thank you in the german and italian sign language (it has slight differences). Lorenzo signs Leo a thank you in italian and Leo just beams happy and gives a thumbs up.
Additional interesting thing i thought about. Probably half if not almost all of the Vatia members are italian. And italians are known to also use their hands and gestures a lot when speaking, so every time I imagine anyone having a verbal fight its probably a LOT of different handgestures in rapid succession, which is DEFINITELY something to get used to (i also believe Hayato is prone to that especially after he returns to italy bc its just so very ingrained in him, having been raised and lived in italy for many years. Which is also fun if you imagine the fucking same with Biancchi and Shamal)
YAY! More Varia boys! Also, thank you so much for answering my questions! Lorenzo and Ava together amuse me and I support that later ship, and you are right – the Varia most certainly wouldn’t be full of people with great coping strategies. Poor Ser though. His father is a jackass of supreme measures…he reminds me of Endeavor from BNHA so his father automatically pisses me off though Sergey’s mother? Awesome woman there and go her! The communal household seems really interesting as a concept and I’m glad it was such a supportive and kind atmosphere. Really, I’m glad that before all the shit rained down on him, that there was some happiness and I’m glad he’s got those close family members, even though I doubt that even later on he really lets them help him too much. I love Leo knowing that many languages and really showing how useful he is in that situation, which is a really great one.
Oh, I like the hand-talking! I do figure Hayato is a hand-talker, just because I’ve always headcanoned him as someone who’s very expressive in his body language, even when he can’t be verbally. Bianchi gets the hand-talking really bad when she gets angry, in my opinion, haha! Interesting bit of knowledge about my country/province, but French Canadians also are huge hand-talkers and where that’s a large portion of my home province, it’s a learned trait for a lot of even the English speaking people haha!

a few my hero academia headcanons (mostly kirishima, kiribaku, and bakusquad) (3rd year)
kirishimas laugh is a very wonderful sound that everyone fucking adores, so lots of people think hes flirting because he laughs a lot but he isnt lol
i believe all the bakusquad can sing but their all shy so they pretend to be really bad but theyre all closeted theater kids so when 'the room where it happened' from Hamilton played one night at karaoke night they all sang and hamonized and everyone freaked the fuck out
bakugo and denki cross dress because it makes them feel powerful and they are often seen in fashion magazines and shit
kirishima is best friends with bakugos parents and all of katsukis family adore eijirou
bakugo cries the second any kind of animal or child is hurt in movies
adding onto that ^ bakugo loves kids, more so as he gets older
kirishima will go to interviews for really important people, but because of his adhd he forgets important shit so he has to call bakugo while in the interview and ask and they always keep the clip because he always puts him on speaker
kirishima will put on classical music but like really nice music and dance with people in the dorms. hes danced with all the girls, and was caught slowdancing with katsuki once at like 3am on a saturday (aizawa cried like a little bitch)
all of 1a calls aizawa dadzawa by the time 2nd year rolls around. like, if someone calls him aizawa now he thinks hes in trouble or someone died or some shit.
kirishima can handle any kind of spice because one of his mamas is half latino and so he basically grew up with lots of spice. bakugo challenged him to a spicey wing eating thing and they ended up having to stop because bakugo ran out and threw uP BC HE WASNT GONNA LOSE OKAY
kirishima will escort young ladies home if they feel unsafe, or he will just scare the shit out of men who harass anyone

a majority of class A has a mission near an animal shelter, and damage is done to the shelter and a really dangerous aggressive dog starts running at mina and bro this dog- this dog is fucking BIG like wolf big and out for BLOOD and is so loud and kiri, ya know, grew since first year and is now like a tank like 6"7 and 300 pounds of muscle and so he gets infront of mina and just goes "HEY!" in a really fucking deep like angry as shit voice and makes himself big and the bear of a dog immediately flinches and runs back into its kennel. and everyone kind of freezes and looks at him, and hes like "jeez, i didnt mean to be so loud" and bakugos like "oh no that was the hottest thing ive ever seen in my life" anyways
bakugo can cook, kirishima can bake
bakugo gets super bad sensory overload sometimes when hes had an especially bad experience with a quirk or something and will have meltdowns about his clothing or how sweaty he is, or how loud his quirk is and how bright it is and kirishima will help him. when it first happened everyone handled it really well, and turned off the lights, and momo made him a weighted blanket and noisecancelling shit and kirishima put his head on his chest to help him match his breathing and shit. v wholesome.
kirishima and bakugo got in a super big fight near the beginning of second year when bakugo was in a bad mood and called him weak again and kirishima blew up on him and told him how he wasnt gonna let katsuki walk all over him just because he feels insecure or weak or whatever and kirishima got super fucking pissed because bakugo got defensive and told him he shouldnt take it so seriously and that it was true and he needs to get stronger and kirishima was like fuck you, at least i admit i have some weaknesses to overcome, and some things that need to be fixed, and they were both hurt and shit but bakugo wouldnt apologize so he stopped talking to him for a while. and then kirishima kept teaming up with midoriya and working together and bakugo confronted him and was obviously trying not to cry and apologized and shit
^ adding onto that. kirishima is equals with bakugo, and will always be equals with bakugo. he never ever comes back crying first, and he always leaves bakugo alone until he apologizes. thats called being partners bitch, and bakugo tries his best. they barely ever argue, unless its about mac and cheese or some shit
kirishima loves calling bakugo pet names, and bakugo will absolutely never admit to anyone it makes him feel like the strongest person alive, but he will to kirishima
kirishima called bakugo "puppy" once while he was sleepy and bakugo broke down crying because he didnt know why it made him feel so nice. kirishima felt horrible. they werent even dating yet 💀
when minas bored she'll teach one of the boys a dance and make a tiktok with them. bakugo is surprising good at dancing.
bakugo, kaminari, and kirishima are the absolutely fucking hilarious when left alone together.
bakugo is super innocent so everyone will ask him random questions at the most random times just to see his whole body blush red and he turns into a grandma, like "bakugo how do lesbians have sex" and hes like "WH- WHAT THE- EW!!! GROSS I DONT KNOW! WHY WOULD YOU ASK ME THAT!!! YUCKY!!!"
bakugo has to have braces for a year and then wears a retainer and kirishima likes it alittle too much while everyone else thinks he looks fucking stupid
denki will go wake up aizawa and sleep in his bed when he gets sick or has a nightmere. present mic will make denki breakfast if he comes to the dorms to find his spot taken.
mina and bakugo are barbz, and so is kirishima just much more on the DL.
kirishima and bakugo can talk telepathically by the time they get to 3rd year, so they always make up the best excuses. also they have really weird nicknames that only they get. kirishima did make the mistake of joking around and saying he wants to be called big daddy boss man and bakugo wouldnt cook for him until he had a written apology.
bakugo really loves cuddling but doesnt know how to ask for it so he just acts like a cat and headbuts kiri and sits on him angrily until he gets the message.

afo is a pureblood vampire, izuku is not because inko is very much a human
afo fell in love w inko bc she 'saved' him from some rather nasty humans (he was about to kill them himself but still he appreciates the gesture) and also look at inko. who wouldnt love her? shes shaped like a friend
he offers her vampiric eternity and she refuses because to her, mortality is a gift. she doesnt want to outlive all of her loved ones and risk becoming someone else
afo relents bc its the least he can do. shes gone thru so much shit just for being informally married to a vampire, he doesnt want her to go through the experience of actually being one
the three of them eventually settle in a town where nobody knows who they are and see them as very eccentric humans, especially the father
izuku also doesnt know who they are, is not aware that hes a vampire, and has no clue whatsoever that people are gunning for his life
afo makes up increasingly ridiculous lies to explain away all the vampiric tendencies
also since afo is a pureblood, hes extremely strong so many typical vampire weaknesses dont affect him so much; the same is true of izuku
both of them can climb on the wall like lizards and when izuku asks why, afo says some dumb shit like 'every family has some weird genetic mutations, right?'
and izuku just kinda squints at him bc that doesnt sound right but he also has no way to disprove it
everything turns for the worse when inko becomes ill (probably with tuberculosis or something) and afo's mental health takes a rapid tailspin with inko's physical health
he hadnt had real emotions in so long, then inko came into his life and he Felt Things and if she dies what can he do? go back to what he was before? he realized that (in his mind) it is impossible to live without inko
kurogiri is also there as their vampire butler, turned by afo several centuries ago. this will soon become important
inko dies, izuku grieves, obviously. hisashi manages to fucking kill himself with a wooden stake to the heart and leaves his near defenseless 12 yr old child to be raised by kurogiri
kurogiri does his best. he really does. but izuku is a very curious orphan who has a habit of being places where he shouldnt be. a tendency unfortunately inherited from both parents. he also has his mothers tendency of being kind to strangers
hes also just learned that hes a vampire and when he dies he'll be ready to punch his father in the face
due to this, the manor they live in which kurogiri manages to the best of his abilities, becomes somewhat of a hostel
to ensure nobody feels like theyre being given charity and to acquire sustenance , he makes a contract that if they stay with him, he can take some of their blood
this does not apply to the kids he occasionally looks after
most of the people in the village know hes a vampire bc izuku is not great at keeping secrets and the ppl who stay at the manor are even worse at it
they get v attached to him tho bc hes adorable and friend shaped and always ready to lend a hand
one day monster hunters come to town after hearing some rumors about vampires but none of the villagers will tell them shit
izuku is loved by the ppl in his life very much and over time a few of the people who intended to stay for the night end uo staying forver as part of the manor's retinue or simply izukus friends

As a manga reader, can we like... stfu (tl:dr at the end)(ep 5 spoilers)
I mean, Norman was a fan favorite, I can get why they'd bring him back so early. Am I happy about it? Hell no, but I can kinda get it. Should we be recommending anime only watchers to read the manga? Sure, as long as we arent being aggressive with it or saying its the only way to enjoy the series. Are we allowed to talk shit on the anime and be upset? Fuck yea, we were very much cheated.
Should we be actively discouraging people from watching the anime simply cause we don't like the direction or feel its worse than the manga? No. Stfu. Let them enjoy their shit
Of course I'm upset but we have to remember that not everyone reads the manga. Not everyone feels the same. From the looks of it, anime watchers that aren't letting manga readers ruin their experience are extremely happy about this. Im not saying all anime watchers are happy. Many are confused (rightfully so, a lot of worldbuilding is missing), but some are happy about this. Let them enjoy this moment. Plus, reading ain't for everyone. Forcing people to only read the manga/shitting on those who don't is a very asshole move to do (and lowkey ableist but thats a whole different rant)
Manga readers for certain fandoms can be some elitist assholes and yall are very much borderlining on that label. Hell, yall dont realize how much shit you guys have spoiled or ruined for anime only watchers unintentionally. Certain jokes are funny and dont really spoil anything (vague joking about the ending being sad, making fun of the fish scene, etc)
(Manga spoiler) A big one I can think of is the yuugo reveal. Did we all just collectively forget that his name was only revealed like a few chapters after he died??? And just learning his name was a BIG thing too from what i remember!!! It wouldnt have had that impact on anime watchers. Why? Cause yall been shouting his name all over the general tag without spoiler warnings or anything. ()
At this point, im trying to be positive but I feel like theyre gonna black butler or tokyo ghoul this(both of which i havent read the manga :) ). Im just treating it as a spin off or completely different show with similar characters at this point. I dont think theyre gonna cut out everything completely (there's little hints of manga characters scattered a bit thoughtout the opening song) but we shouldn't expect the same character development at this point. I agree with Kishimoto never trying to use the girls. The hate they get is not fair. I used to defend Sakura back in the days because I hoped kishi would do her justice. When shippuden started I WAS SO HAPPY because I thought this was the start of something great for Sakura and the girls but NOOOOO. Every time, Sasuke showed kishi turned her brainless. If you compare Naruto's actions and Sakura's actions to sasuke, you'd see they're completely different. What's up with that weird fake love confession scene 😭? It makes her look like she was manipulating Naru. JEEZ.
Also he literally had badass Tenten and Temari with cool useful abilities and he didn't use them ?! TF ?! Thank god for modern authors who treat their characters with respect :)

The way I see it, Sakura's character development in shippuden was always one step forward, two steps back. She gets this really badass scene (like her fight with Sasori and those cool ass medical skills) but is then regressed back into a pining girl in love every time Sauce is on screen or Kishi just throws her in the background YET AGAIN.
I love Sakura's abilities actually. Her brute strength, intelligence, vast knowledge and skill as a medic nin. But what I dislike about her character is how kishi handled her feelings for Sasuke. Naruto and Sakura's obsession with Sasuke was so???? huh??? it was so damn toxic and i never once understood why both Nardo and Sak were so obsessed with him. They were a team for one year???? I mean its great that they care about him alot but Sauce's feelings were kinda valid. His freakin clan died. Id go batshit crazy against my own village too. BUT BESIDES THAT. Both Nart and Sakura's Sasuke obsession was so annoying. 80% of shippuden was literally Keeping up with the Uchihas or Naruto yelling SASUKEH. BUT what irks me so much is the fandom's double standards with both Naruto and Sakura. "Oh Sakura shouldve gotten over her Sasuke obsession" but then turn around and call Naruto's obsession cute and gush about how he's so in love with him!!
Hot take but the only reason why sasunaru is "the most developed ship with the most chemistry" is because theyre both male characters.
I guarantee you if Naruto was a girl and SHE would be the one to have this unhealthy obsession who was chasing around Sasuke, the fandom would shit on Naruto just as much. And if Sasuke were a girl, Sauce would be sidelined like the rest of the female cast and Naruto would have another male character to have a "brotherly bond" with, because thats the only bond Kishimoto is actually good at developing. Yey for male characters having all the screentime and cool assets <333
And about that confession scene, I get her intentions. I really do. I understand that she did that in order to bring him home and that she cares about him but honey, w-why?? Why lie to him about your feelings?? Supposed he DID believe her, then what? then what kishi???? huh??? Some of her fans point the blame on Sai or whatever but I personally dont see why that scene was at all necessary. Maybe to establish Naruto's feelings for her wasnt all that serious? or his maturity? idk man. That scene was such a clusterfuck.
In the end her development in The Last and in Boruto was immaculate. She had one of the best glow ups in the old gen and ironically enough, her character wasn't butchered in Boruto. She got badass scenes she was cheated from in shippuden. I also love how she's finally getting the spotlight she deserves. Unlike the other konoha 12 :,)))

Let me just establish this real quick. Hinata's goal was to get stronger because of Naruto, her goal was never to be with Naruto. She NEVER once said "marrying Naruto-kun is my all time goal UwU" (if youre one of those weirdos who interpret her character that way, youre immediately invalid, go take a hike)
I personally dont have anything against their crushes but to the point of making their personalities revolve around these guys every time theyre onscreen is so fucking frustrating. And with the way he writes their dialogues is so.damn.cringey. Like that one scene in the war arc with Tsunade and Madara

If im being honest. Hinata's character is actually kinda well written. Not well executed. Dear God no. But with the way he set her story, her personality, her chracterization. She's honestly one of the best written female characters on the show. IMO. By Kishi's standards of writing women ofc. She's hands down one of the most complex characters. Her shy personality wasnt out of the blue, it wasnt a cutesy waifu trait. Her abusive upbringing made her that way. Her trauma turned her that way. So yeah, sue her if she looked up to Naruto as an inspiration when everyone else in her family treated her like dust. Shit on her for having Naruto's love light in her dark when her own damn father wouldnt even look her in the eye and her entire clan shunned her because she was "weak." She doesnt owe her family shit so idgaf what they do with the Hyuga clan. Neji and Hanabi aren't included btw
Im not gonna deny that her role in the show was only as the love interest but tbh for a love interest, Im glad her character wasnt so one dimensional. It just pains me SO MUCHHH how fucking wasted she is. Every time she's with Naruto, they always make her into a damsel in distress. They always feel the need to turn Naruto into the heroic prince. They made her into an invisible trophy wife and "the mc's mother" and we all KNOW what happens to the shounen mc's mother once mc is in need of character development :) Quit putting her in the background. Give us that scene where she won against Hanabi DESPITE being retired for years. Give us that scene where she trains Boruto. GIVE US ANY FIGHT SCENE OF HER WHERE HER POTENTIAL ISNT WASTED WTF?¿
Now if you say that Hinata didnt have development. YOURE INVALID. She came from an abusive household, the shyest girl in her class, her insecurities got in the way of her own confidence, had difficulty of standing up for herself now became a loving mother of two, has the guts to kick her husband out of the house(with whom she couldnt even keep eye contact with when she was a kid) became the strongest hyuga, most supportive wife and mother, and has given her kids the comforting childhood she never had as a kid.
She has one of the most beautiful stories in the show and if you think her personality is only Naruto-kun and big boobs, then im sorry that you cant appreciate such a heartwarming story.
And I agree, killing her would honestly make me feel more at ease than continue to see her suffer because of godawful misogynistic writers. But at least let her die in an epic fight. Please. PLEASEE. She got nerfed so bad, i feel a physical pain every time i think about it
Okay what else. I think Ino got pretty good development. Another wasted potential in shippuden but she's doing good for herself in Boruto. I dont know what Temari is up to. They basically made her into another classic angry mom who beats up her husband for comedy trope. Haha very funny and original! Im not sure with her career, im not that invested in the anime.

Konan shouldnt have died. I blame plot armor. I know in my heart that Konan wouldve kicked Obito's ass if it weren't for Kishi's boomer mindset.
Tsunade had so much hype when she was introduced but died down in the war arc. Madara wiped the floor with the kages. Holy shit. Not only that, but yipee! Naruto is there to save the day AGAIN!!!!

I think that ends my rant. Im not sure how the female characters in Boruto are handled. Except maybe Sarada (she's pretty well executed in the manga imo). But arguably they are sooo much better handled in Boruto than how the old gen girls were. And thats because Kishi isnt anywhere near the new gen female cast. I cant formulate a solid opinion with the other new gen female cast since im not entirely invested in the anime. Not ashamed to admit that I only watch it for the sunshine moments and for Hinata :DD

some feelings abt touya and bnha 302 in general! (long post)
jesus this whooooole chapter makes me so so so sad for touya, like he's canonically a crier and i just have all these images now of him crying off to the side while enji looks at his other kids and gives them the time of day. knowing that he was/is a frustrated crier makes the fact that dabi cant cry cuz of his burned tear ducts that much sadder ohhman
one of the things i cant get over is how touya was SO shunned by his dad that when he went to go tell enji about his fire turning from red to blue, he says "i might be as awesome as shouto sooner or later!" like?? this boy is 13 and shouto is 5 yet he's talking like the brother that's eight years younger than him is better than him and thar it's just a fact. the sky is blue, enji wants to beat all might one day, and shouto is better than the rest of his siblings. nevermind that he's only five and just wants to play with his siblings (and dont even mention to me how shouto says he wants to play with "touya and them" cuz im gonna fucking cry abt it. like even though touya's accepted he's bottom of the ladder in this family, shouto clearly wants some sort of acknowledgement from his older siblings and especially his older brother. IM FVCKN SOBBN). enji has made it clear in this family that shouto was what he was looking for and everyone else is not as important, and i knew this from shouto's pov but it's kinda wild to see it implied so casually in touya's words.
"you'll be glad you created me! i just know it!" HOLY SHIT. god my heart. oh my fuck. literally all enji had to do was show up to the fucking mountain, and he couldnt even do that? what the hell?? your son asks you to go to the mountain, you tell your wife not to let him go traim but she said she couldnt stop him, and instead of going yourself to make sure he's okay and BECAUSE HE ASKED YOU TO COME (and with an actually valid reason, no less! fire changing colour is kind of a big fucking deal!!!) you just?? let him go and let him stay there??? my god the amount of times touya must have burned himself and the trees with tears in his eyes. ahhhHHH!!!
what kills me (and touya too soon?) was that we thought before the back story started that enji forced touya to train till he burned up. then when 290 came out--and definitely after 301--we thought maybe touya overtrained himself and burned up. and sure, he was definitely overtraining, but to find out that the burns that "killed" him started just bc he was crying so much he lost control and didnt know how to ease up on his flames? he was upset and literally trying to get himself to stop crying, and then he just set himself aflame and burned up cuz of all his emotions??? that HURTS. holy fuck.
i cant believe natsuo's feeling lowkey guilty for not socking enji in the face like he wasnt EIGHT???? and let's be real, enji woukdnt have fucking listened to natsuo telling him to talk to touya--he already wasnt listening when touya would straight up say "look at me" and when even rei said touya just wanted enji to look at him and notice him. listen, i know sometimes miscommunications happen in families and children are embarrassed to admit they want attention and so their parents remain unaware that theyre not giving their kid something they want, but touya was as clear as can be on MANY occasions, and even rei agreed touya needed the attention and enji just wasnt listening.
also i know there was discourse abt touya being sexist by telling natsu that "the women in this house are good for nothing" and mb it was partly diff translations cuz i feel like saying "this house" makes it specific to rei and yumi instead of all women everywhere, but even disregarding that--i think it's a valid thought for him to have when rei wasnt standing up for him (where he could see, at least) and yumi admitted herself that she was too scared to interfere and so just tried to fix things and keep appearances. i feel like based on what touya's seen from them, it makes sense that he has that opinion. (also gonna mention that i think rei's and yumi's choices also make sense and i think they were valid, seeing as how they were afraid as well.)
and poor natsu being woken up in the middle of the night (what was implied to be often enough, esp cuz it seemed they share a room and their futons are close) bc of touya's pain. that's a lot of emotional responsibility for an eight year old, and it is also so sad that at 13, touya didnt have anyone else to turn to but his kid brother. at 13, i remember being fully aware of the distinction in maturity between an 8 year old and myself, and it sucks that touya couldnt go to anyone but a younger child with all his pain. i bet yumi being too scared to interfere translated to touya as "she wouldnt help me" and thats another reason he didnt go to the 2nd oldest when he needed to vent. (also not related to this but how the FUCK was natsuo so tall at 8 years old? wh a t)
this chapter. this fucking chapter. my heart aches for touya, and it's just such a huge fucking shame he didnt get the attention and validation and support he needed. there must have been workarounds so that touya could safely use his quirk. there weere DEFINITELY better ways to support your son through a self-destructive quirk, ways that involved actually being there and seeing him. i feel like if someone showed him the attention he needed and talked him through how to better control his emotions (and by extension, his flames) and a positive and healthy way, he could have been someone so great. and if he ever learned how to set aside the way he felt infefior to shouto and saw that shouto just wanted to play with his cool older siblings, it might have been really beneficial to see that there was someone there who thinks he's cool and gave him attention just bc he was an older brother, who needed him when everyone else in the househild didnt seem to need him.
and lastly, the fact that the chapter ends with rei saying that shouto is the family hero and that shouto will have to face dabi?? and it makes me angry that shouto has to take on that responsibility. that he was five and suffering for things he wasnt even a part of, couldnt be properly aware of, bc he was so young. he just saw that he was separated from his siblings and that his dad bullied his mom, then grew up shouldering enji's heavy goals and high expectations and abusive training alongside the barely-there memories of his older brother who died (i say barely there bc if natsu didnt even know shouto liked cold soba, shouto was definitely not around enough to have solid memories of touya before he "died"), and now he has to do the emotional labour of fighting his villain brother (who i bet shouto lowkey empathizes with when he thinks abt it late at night) as well as suffer the physical consequences of that agni kai. and it makes me angry that he has to do that, bc he's a Good Guy and he probably feels he has some sort of filial and familial responsibility. he's only 16. he just wanted to play with touya and them, and now he has to deal with this horse shit dabi's causing cuz his dad's an emotionally neglecting asshat who couldnt see past his dumb fucking ego until he saw shouto play with a bunch of kids during shou's remedial exam a decade after his eldest son burned himself to death. what the fuckety fuck.
lastly, since we saw touya burn uo the way he did... did he really just like... burn so much his jaw fell off, and that's how they found the jawbone? cuz holy hot (BURNING too soon???) damn that must have been painful as all hell. i wonder if next chapter we get to see if someone found touya at the park and helped him out and sorted out the jaw bone thing, or if we finally get to see if deku wakes up lol.
anyways this chapter hurt my heart big time, and i kinda wanna draw kid touya crying while being overlooked by his family to let out some of those feelings but we'll see.
and i still stand by my idealistic and naively optimistic hope that dabi gets redeemed and they soend some actually time together as a family (without enji. or at least, with an enji that has apologized to touya in seiza. like, forehead-to-floor apologize.)
does this hope sort out how dabi redeems himself, seeing as how he's murdered people in cold blood and shouldnt be excused for that bc those actions are also inarguably terrible? no. not sure how he could redeem himself for that kinda stuff honestly, but it doesnt mean i dont still somehow want the todoroki sibs to get along, cuz im weak for mending families.
also id like to send a huge kudos out into the world to rei todoroki for being firm for once and for also not running away from her mistakes like her asshole husband has been. i really admire and respect that. she was afraid and being abused, but now that she's been away from enji and has had time to heal, now that her and shouto are in the mend and she's seen that her eldest son is alive and a villain, she's a place where she can acknowledge that even though she was a victim too, she played a part in touya's emotional neglect and she's taking responsibility and that speaks to some incredible fucking strength. damn.
i hope one day that dabi realizes the same in regards to his mother and natsuo, who shouldered a lot of his emotional pain and suffered the consequences of his outbursts (even though his emotions are valid and his outbursts understandable, he still hurt rei and put a lot of pressure on natsu), and i also hope he sees that for all that he hates his father, his whole existence revolves around enji and it's a shitty place to be (and then he'll have ANGST abt it and that shit will be!! so good!!!)
yeah i think those were all my feelings. i had so many lol. their family situation is so difficult, i hope they all turn out okay and alive and healing.
oh i guess i also wanted to say that i kept calling enji an asshat and asshole cuz he was for sure, but i still think his redemption is valid and im glad he's taking those steps to be a better person by being a better father. i dont know if id want his family to forgive him for all that horrible shit he put them through (im personally hoping that no matter what anyone else does, natsuo will choose to to cooperate in the healing of his family as a unit but will never forgive enji) but i think it's good of people to try to be better than they were yesterday regardless of whether or not they get forgiveness. i dont personally like enji, but i dont hate that he's getting a redemption. i just hope it's a redemption that makes sense and forces him to put in the work, and isnt something like a death sacrifice for shouto or dabi. i want him to be alive and i want his redemption process to hurt like a fucking bitch while he forces himself to make better choices and be a better person, cuz redemption isnt supposed to be easy in the slightest. i GUESS all the crying he did in 302 was a good start.

WHY IM A TOMMY APOLOGIST
i feel as if tommy is in the right because he sacrificed those discs for lmanburg and it wasnt acknowledged much like everyone was like 'YO YOU SACRIFICED ONE OF YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSIONS WE WON' and that was it like my mans is (in the cannon lore) supposed to be like 13 rn 13 Y/O'S NEED MORE VALIDATION THAN THAT
and then schlatt exiled tommy and wilbur went insane and dream helped wilbur with explosives and shit which kinda indirectly killed him because if dream didnt give supplies wtf would wilbur do? nothing hed be normal nd shit and dadza wouldnt fucking murk him
and then he finally got some of his discs back and hes vp and tired of everything and tommy being tommy, wrecks havoc. he broke like15 blocks, left gogys stuff outside in a chest, and the fire was accidental. not excusing him, but he got severly punished for practically nothing compared to other shit people have done to him
dream and puffy went out and about blowing shit up and then blaming tommy for it? never got in trouble. puffy i can excuse, shes new, but dream? mans owns the server, if tommy is held accountable, dream should be as well.
i cannot count the amount of times someone has griefed tommys base and no repercussions happened.
tommy is quite frankly, just a kid. a traumatized kid who doesnt get attention from his father, who favors his eldest brother over him and killed the second oldest. in my eyes, he acted out to gain attention because he never gets any from anyone else.
then tubbo siding with dream who, as i mentioned before, literally indirectlly killed his brother. i would be kinda pissed if that happened to me.
tubbo considering exiling tommy because dream wants him too. dream wants tommys discs for no reason. tommy gave tubbo that disc out of friendship, trust, loyalty, in one of his hardest times (he did that when wilby was insane right?). and then tubbo considers, and almost does, giving it to the man who killed his brother indirectly.
tommy lashes out because a lot has happened in one day. yeah, its fucked that he said he valued tubbo over tommy, but if ya think about it, thats the only thing that hes been able to think about and want consistantly.
again, he shouldnt value the discs over tubbo, but when was the last time he was able to peacfully have his discs?
it surely pisses me off that tommy was irrational and irresponisible, but i do believe kicking him out of the country he fought, died, and gor betrayed for several times for accidentally burning down a house that is easily replaceble is worthy of getting pissed off at!
remember kids, he said stupid shit, but you cant get kicked out of a country for saying dumb things, even if youre the vp. (americas made that pretty fucking clear lmao)

They wouldn’t be romantic often but like highkey? I can see them throwing themselves into the line of fire for each other with a recklessness only they could survive
We can’t forget that Spencer is a more than 60,000-year-old overpowered demon/god/entity/thing, which, yes, could throw a slight wrench in this ship for multiple reasons, but I choose to make angst out of it instead.
Side note: Ghost is a chronic conspiracy theorist (and you can’t tell me otherwise) and every once in awhile Spencer will offhandedly say something like “Y’know I helped the Egyptians build the pyramids” and Ghost just goes fucking feral.
Look, I’m not saying Spencer IS touch-starved and most likely has issues creating and developing relationships and therefore avoids interpersonal connection, especially offline, but I AM saying he is prime material for it. (thats a lie thats exactly what shes saying don’t believe it) (I’m projecting okay dont judge me) (loser imagine projecting)
Imagine with me for a second: Why does Spencer willingly stay with a family who locks him in their basement with only minor complaining? He’s a near all-powerful entity just released into the world for Spence’s-sake - If he wanted to, there’s no telling what havoc he could wreak! So why doesn’t he? Why would someone so powerful, so terrifying, so dangerous that a group of people decided to seal him away forever stay with the first family he finds in sub-par conditions for years - especially someone who’s seen to be as high-maintenance as Spencer? Let me hit you with a theory: He’s chasing the feelings of validation, safety, and love - no matter how rarely it’s shown - that a family can provide. Being socially isolated for even a few years can do a number to a person’s psyche (I should know, I’m projecting onto this character right now), let alone thousands.
Now maybe Ghost can’t match thousands of years in isolation, but damn if he doesn’t have a few years of crippling loneliness on his record too.
I can see the two of them learning how to be vulnerable around others together, emotionally and physically; learning how to open up and how to talk through issues; and some third point, because points are better in threes.

Also theyre both big nerds in different ways and i think they’d have just ranting sessions back and forth over and over and it would be soft!!!!! So yeah, i think it would work, at least, i want it to :D
So. Maybe?? I feel like it could, but they’d need to work pretty hard to make it healthy and not constant fighting. Could be stupid amounts of cute and wholesome but also could be stupid amounts of oh no and pain, depending on how the two act. session 63 end
okayyy. neat-fucking-o. thats done and boy OH FUCKING BOY i have a lot to say. and this is going to get mildly serious. sorry. theres a lot to uncover this session which basically is just one huge overall plot point. the whole timeline shindig. the thing that has messed me up for a few hours ngl.
man.... this is gonna be a long one. im not even exaggerating. (still, a tldr at the end)
so, the main thing besides from the time shindig plot, which is both important and essential and precious: DAVESPRITE <3
k cool. ill expand on that throughout this whole note, but would rather like to make a whole analogy first before i do so.
so, to start off from last session, dave went back in time to fix jade and john’s death.
but i guess, from what ive read, GC never realized what she did was bad. she basically screwed everyone over and dave had to go back to fix things, which yes, does sound bad. but honestly? i dont think she really realized how bad it was until davesprite had the talk with her. and now they are both friends i take it, shocking development. but thats between davesprite, rather than dave himself so there may be two different views on how he sees GC. anyways, it was pretty bad. i wont just forget that. i love her character but she killed off two characters (who thankfully are now alive), making dave a sprite and future rose to just not exist anymore. or... well.... she does, but she seemed to have fused with PRESENT rose. which i guess we’ll figure out how that works the next time we see her. which will probably be on derse.
but, tbh, GC wanted to apologize and felt bad about the whole situation. so im giving her the benefit of the doubt here.
now.. man...
can i take a second to analyze davesprite? and a little bit about the concept of john/dave’s friendship (just a tad)? ie the two greatest things in the world? thanks.
i think the thing that hit me the hardest was how davesprite (im calling him that to distinguish which dave im talking about but keep in mind i should be calling them both dave. but this makes it easier to write up.) well, davesprite explained how he’d continue to reset the timeline until john and jade are alive. which basically means he would use himself as a sacrifice to allow their survival. which ALSO means he cares more for them than he does himself. he’d throw his life away for them. he knew there was a possibility of him ceasing to exist if they reset the timeline again. he literally said it in such a nonchalant way that it makes me wonder how much his friends really mean to him. which in retrospect, is a lot. now pls keep this in mind for the next part.
now, dave also has so much appreciation towards himself. but not in the cocky way, of course. rather in the way that shows self love?? kinda?? like he genuinely wanted to hang with davesprite, brainstorm his comic and vice versa bc they both think their alt version is that cool. i know it should sound kinda narcissistic, but listen. a lot of people dont often appreciate themselves for who they are. and what i really want to emphasize on that here, is that this comes back to the whole putting himself before others thing. because that specific line i mentioned before is a BIG FUCKING DEAL. since dave thinks so highly of himself as a cool guy, rad dude, arent we so awesome type kid that he LITERALLY didnt care for his life in that one hot second. he made sure he was a pawn used to help out his friends rather than an actual human being who should worry about his life as well. he didnt care if he survived or not in the process of making sure everything was going alright. which is such a fucking leap from this whole self-respecting thing. its as if that didnt matter anymore. and that takes a fucking beating. that shows how much dave truly loves his friends. do you know how fucking BIG THAT WHOLE DEAL IS?
take john for example. dave didnt give two shits who the person on the other line was. he found out GC was the troll who killed john and basically threatened her with every inch of his life to make her back away from him. he knew what it would cause and said “fuck you” in bright and bold. all because he didnt want to see his friend die again. which? fair enough. and if we look back at the last session, god that could mess someone up. especially someone as young as 13. rose even got the worst end of the stick bc she flat out ceased to exist. but then again, thats in the same boat as jade/john. bc they all technically died. yet davesprite didnt. he remembers it. davesprite isnt just going to forget. he’s going to have surviver’s guilt for a long time, because being dave’s guide will forever be a reminder that he’s the version in the doomed timeline. he’s the only one who knows what happened, and he wont become the “true dave” in a sense that he’s now just considered “davesprite” and nothing more, since he cant just be dave since his timeline ended up fucked. not to mention he technically said he was fine with it, bc since it meant the others survived, he wouldnt care what happened to his life. even tho he should and it still probably hurts him idk. and that kills me a little. actually, more than a little. this is personally the most gut wrenching scene in homestuck (but i may just be speculating too much). but that wont stop him from helping dave and giving him all the answer, and also protecting john with everything he has.
and, man, i feel as if he’s gonna be such a good guide for dave. he already gave him the loot, the rundown and is very open about questions dave already has because he knows how tough it probably is to have a shitty guide. considering he was stuck with calsprite for 4 months. so obviously he’s going to help as much as possible. since he probably had little to none and didnt learn as much as he should have through the course of sburb. but now, as a guide, he can easily access all the info he lost during the pathway of his timeline. and share it with dave so he doesn’t struggle and actually completes the game rather than end up in a doomed timeline like himself.
but yes. dave’s blatant adoration for john basically saved them both in a way. and it seems as if its a little mutual considering john told dave he’d always believe him no matter what in the end. how he reconsidered everything, remembered the note and realized how good their friendship is to just give it up like that. and then vice versa. dave couldnt continue on the game without him or jade, so he went back in time. and showed his pissed-off protective side in order to save john again. which warms my heart bc they both mean so much to each other. and both got each other super sentimental gifts and wrote each other such touching cards.
and thats a good way to end the session, i think.
so there we have it. ive never wanted to hug a character so bad than i do with davesprite. i just hope everyone at least acknowledges him in some way, and gives him some amount of respect for what he did for everybody. ive only met him for like 10 pages, but i think he’s the most emotional character so far. and i guess since he’s dave himself, and i feel for dave based on his situation with bro, its safe to say i would protect him with my life. which i dont want to be *that* person but hey, its true. its just that he’s been through so much bullshit, and davesprite is the only survivor of his timeline, always will be reminded of it whenever he sees dave/john/rose/jade playing the game, is now a fucking sprite who wont be able to live his own path but just be a guide and god, i feel for him. i really do.
i shouldnt have written such a long note about davesprite.. but his whole story as to how he became a thing really got to me, alright?
i should write a tldr, cool. here yall go; i actually love davesprite, he’s been through some shit and he deserves hells of respect. GC is forgiven and we’ll find out next time how both version of rose.. fused together?

i cant sleep, and i feel like rambling.

when g+ died, i felt like a big part of me died as well.
i dont have much goin for me in the real world, and that community helped. I’m glad im still in touch with my friends, but. I lost so much. I never saved anything either because i really hate google, and didnt wanna risk anythin.
but now
i feel more withdrawn than ever before.
i’m going to change that.
in other news.
my love-hate relationship with the quiet kid has,, come to a close. for better or for worse.
it’s just. strange. i dont even know why i ended up in that situation.
back in 2017 i was a lonely, unstable teen, who had become a victim of bullying from a rp clique i was in. Many of my so called friends were either backstabbers, or i had somehow driven them away. i dont remember my behavior, and i dont think i want to. maybe after she set up boundaries and kicked me outta her life (not because i fucked up, she just had a lotta problems with her parents and she didnt wanna risk more than what she wanted to), i got tired of running around. so i ignored her boundaries and clung to her like a tick. ironic, i guess. i had tried my best to be helpful and an amazing friend, while at the same time being a really, really shitty one. i was blinded by either loneliness, infatuation, or desperation, and i got hurt and taken advantage of because of it. i didnt deserve that, but i shouldnt have kept fucking with her. the damage is irreparable now. i still get urges to reach out and try talking, apologize and make peace, but the best thing i can do is leave her alone. and it’s hard. but goddammit she’s already taken a year from me, it’s time for some growth now. on one hand i wanna apologize, and i think i owe her that, since i actually know what i did this time. but on the other,, she claimed to have always hated me. this is kind of fucking me up since i’ve loved her for about a year, and she actually dated me for awhile. wouldnt be the first time she used me though tbh.
(pls dont go attack her for any of this. i’m just at a low point and i need to open up about shit.)

i’ve been thinking about behavioral problems i got off n on all day.
and i think i’m tired of bottling everything up.
hell, just going by looking at my profiles, y’all have no idea who i am. yeah i’ve mentioned things once every few months but. identity is a fickle thing i guess. i’ve built myself on the works of others, and seldom offer anything from myself.
i’m just. tired i guess.
i had about three best friends overall in the real world, two of which i left behind in 4th grade when we moved, the third one being,, not a good person. my social skills are pretty dead and im not proud of that, but i physically cannot speak to anyone.
them’s the breaks i guess.
ya just gotta. work out the kinks when you grow out of a troubled childhood.
anyway. i kinda doubt anyone is gonna read this tbh. thancc ya if ya did. i’ll be more open in the future.

I was considering getting a furby sometime soon but I haven’t had one since I was a kid. What’s it like? Are there any bad sides?
whats it like? depends entirely on the person. some ppl like to take their furby with them everywhere ect, some ppl prefer mostly keeping them on a shelf, id be the latter. i sometimes take one off the shelf and interact with it for a bit, but tbh theyre kinda limited in what they can do, so it can get repetitive and i only do it really if im feeling nostalgic or wanna be distracted. the main fun thing for me about having furbies is customizing them. its a great distraction and makes me feel better to have somethin to work on that i can look at and be like ‘i didnt completely fuck this up’.
if u mean whats it like as in the furby like, talkin and shit, theres tons of vids in the furby tag of ppl playing with them, so just go search furby in the video section and u should find plenty of examples(also a ton on youtube and even comparisons of the dif models)are there any bad sides? uhhhhhhh i guess some of what i said could be considered bad, like the repetitive thing. theres not much else i can think of thatd be bad about it, unless you end up thinking theyre creepy. i personally think theyre cute af, but thats me.
i guess another downside is them not working properly, being a 20? year old toy, but from what i understand, the 1998-2005s are fairly easy to fix. out of the.. idk 20+ furbies of 1998 models i have, i think only a couple dont work, and i havnt yet attempted to fix them, but from what ive seen, it shouldnt be too hard(@ furbytech is a great resource for fixes)
the 2012/booms and connects? not so much. i gutted a boom recently to see if i could make it work and lemme tell ya, its nothin like a 1998 in there. im pretty sure(and i seen other ppl say its a common issue with booms) that the motor died and would need to be replaced. i have zero idea how much a motor costs or where to find one bcuz at that point i decided it wasnt worth it. another bad thing is finding any resources on how to fix the booms, bcuz i couldnt find much of anything useful.the dif types of furby are the original, 1998-2001(?) (typically only called 1998s though), the 2005, the 2012, furby boom, and furby connect. they all have pros/cons, the 1998s pro is they have a ton of varying colors, the eyechips can be removed and customized, and easy to fix. cons..repetitive? though that can be said for all of them.
the 2005s have voice recognition, they can hear their name(hey furby) and be asked several dif phrases that they can respond to, including ‘tell a knock knock joke’. con is they dont seem to talk or do much otherwise(though that could just be the one i have) i also have a harder time understanding what theyre saying compared to the other models.i cant comment on 2012s as i have none, but the booms pro is the different personalities they have! its cool that they have dif personalities, but the con is they can change, sometimes without reason, to a dif one. another con is their fur patterns make them less customizable, as are their digital eyes. the connects pros: super fucking cute, very interactive, moves a lot, and you can actually pick their furby name with the app and theyll remember it. cons(imo) they make a ton of fart noises and fart jokes. it honestly seems like the only thing they talk about other than yelling about loving cats, but it was marketed at kids so i guess i understand. another con is that, while like all furbys, they can sense sound, they dont seem to know what youre saying(they reply with random and repetitive responses) and there are no phrases they react to(as far as i know), which is odd considering theyre the newest version. they do however, react and dance to music, so thats pretty cool.
those are all i can think of pro/con-wise off the top of my head, im sure im leavin out a bunch.also as a tip, for a regular furby from the first generations(id say 1-3 and some of 4), i wouldnt pay over 10$ for it. some of the limited ones are also pretty easy to find, that ive seen, so i wouldnt pay a ton for those either(for example, the graduation furby) the connect i guess since theyre newer go for about 20 and up, but u can find them for 10-15 too sometimes. the most expensive(in general) are the 2005s, typically around 40-50 bucks. you can find them cheaper sometimes, but they get bought pretty quick from what ive seen.obvs the more special and higher gen furbies are worth more, but another thing i personally like to keep in mind is: how different is it really? for example, the graduation furby is pretty much just a tuxedo furby from gen 1 with a hat on. ones like the juicy grape are also just tuxedos with the white colored different, and can be easily replicated(though i believe both examples do have a tail instead of a mane like the tux has).sorry for rambling about so much shit, and good luck whatever u decide
