An interesting “side effect” of the canonization of the “classic era” meaning “younger era” is that the classic era now reads as “cute fun times” before the core cast became teenagers/tweens and things got super, super complicated.
Because the characters are “younger,” there’s an air of “little rascal innocence” to everything they do now. The new releases like Mania and Superstars now feel like little throwbacks to the young heroes just learning how to work together and make a difference in the world.
I don’t think this is a bad thing at all.

I think the most amazing thing about kanej is that while, yes, they are an incredibly written romance with so much tenderness and nuance present, they are also just two teenagers who are CRAZY for one another. I love them with all of my heart <3

Wyll and Karlach finally get to Zariel’s forge. They’ve a smith, they’ve a plan, they got this. It never goes easy though, and right as they step up to the massive forge, infernal iron in hand, Mizora finally appears.
When they had last spoken, all those months ago, Mizora claimed that she’d still visit Wyll—even if she wasn’t his patron. Perhaps their win against the Netherbrain caused some hesitation. Perhaps she knew that after six months of countless fights, Wyll would be able to take revenge.
Alas, she could hardly refuse her Mistress’s bidding. Of course Zariel knew Karlach would find and pursue her forge. Who better to defend it than Mizora, former patron to Wyll? She’d seen them fight. And who knows, the battle could be very entertaining.
anyway yeah I headcanon that before Karlach could get her engine fixed, they have a boss fight against Mizora. Because yeah :3 two birds with one stone and all that.

aki's just the sweetest whenever he has a crush on you.
he's totally obvious, immediately standing up straight whenever he sees you, finding it hard to meet your eyes and absently fiddling with his thumbs while he talks. he blushes to his ears when you stand a little too close to him. his hands get clammy and sweaty and he'll shove them in his pockets hoping you won't notice.
he compliments you every time you meet, telling you that you look pretty (like always, he means, you always are). he shares his lunch with you when you forget to bring any, he asks if you'd like to come over for dinner (he was supposed to run some errands instead, but if you want to come over, that's more important, and he isn't going to tell you that). he offers to pay for everything when you're around. the tone of his voice gets lighter and he smiles more. maybe someday he'll get the courage to ask you on a proper date.

At the bus stop one time there was a gaggle of preschoolers waiting to catch the bus for a field trip day, and someone walked past with a couple of friendly little dogs, to great general delight.
But after a little bit, the dogs were getting overwhelmed, and the preschoolers were gently coaxed to back off so the person with the dogs could continue on. Specifically, one of the preschool teachers said, "Sometimes, when you're small, being surrounded by big people can be a bit scary and overwhelming. Even if they are friendly."
This was recieved as great wisdom: after all, the preschoolers were also small, and understood how scary and overwhelming big people could be! And the dogs were indeed even smaller than the preschoolers, so it made sense.
What was funny and charming was that, upon absorbing and reflecting on this wisdom, they all felt the need to tell it to one another. In tones of great insight, they turned to one another and said, "Did you know? Sometimes when you are small, being surrounded by big people can be scary and overwhelming! Even if they are friendly!" Back and forth, without any particular concern that they were all saying the same thing. Have reached comprehension of an insight, it must be shared!
I must say that this behavior is less charming in tumblr users than in preschoolers. Not least because tumblr users, having gained a little analytical skill to misuse, insist on Summarizing and Generalizing and Unifying the insights they repeat, quickly turning any interesting new information into formulaic dogmatic mush.

One reason I think it's actually good to start a big project is watching - in real time! - the fact that you're gaining proficiency
So, this is part of my project:
I'm not sure if you can see it on camera (I hope you can, even if it's embarrassing), but at the bottom of the piece, there are many stitches jutting out. Do you see the inconsistency in them? But when you move your eyes up toward the end (the top), the stitches are so much more even and uniform? It's so weird to see the progress right before your eyes, but it's honestly what I think makes this project special to me. The very bottom of this part of the project represents being able to not only learn but to remember. I think that's what makes this life worth living.

Had a conversation last night with someone about the two times I've ever dated and I realized that when it comes to the first guy in middle school who came out as gay after like two weeks, he was probably using me as a beard cuz at one point he called me with his mom and had me tell her we were dating but cuz of anxiety it took several minutes for me to actually say it but that was likely him trying to convince her like "Hey I've got a girlfriend, see I can't be gay!" and like, homophobia from his mom aside, that's really fucking funny that I was a beard without knowing it and like six years later I ended up being a gay guy myself.
