A little fanfic I wanted to write after stumbling across @linkeduniverse‘s beautiful and amazing artwork for this awesome AU! For those of you who haven’t, check her art out! Please keep in mind that this is my first Tumblr post, so if I do anything wrong or have forgotten something, don’t hesitate to let me know.
I do not own anything but my own writing.
Anywho, here you are:
“So, this is Wild’s Hyrule, huh?” Legend remarked, arms crossed and expression set in his typical I-could-care-less-about-everything look. Hyrule nodded,
“Guess so.”
“It’s huge!” Wind exclaimed, eyes wide as he stared in amazement and awe at the vast fields, rolling hills, and looming cliffs and gigantic mountains.
Hyrule shifted uneasily and Legend withheld the urge to smirk. He extended a hand and clasped his fellow companion’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, ‘rule. If you stick with us, there’s no way you can get lost.”
Hyrule managed a weak, embarrassed, smile, “I know.”
~~~~~~~~
“I take them back.”
Wind looked to the disgruntled and irritated Legend grumpily stalking a little ahead of him, fists clenched and a scowl permanently plastered on his lips.
“Take what back?” The sailor asked in his usual, cheerful voice.
“My words,” Came the grumbled reply, “I mean, how is it even possible?!” Legend threw his hands up into the air, flinging them to the side and pointing to the ground beside him as he walked, “He was standing right here! Right beside me! And he still manages to somehow disappear!”
Wind frowned, gaze darting ahead of them, “You think we should head back and get the others? We don’t know this world as well as Wild. He might have a better chance of knowing where we could find Hyrule. Wolfie would be able to trace him!” To be honest, Wind wasn’t all that worried. Hyrule got lost all of the time, but he always managed to find them- or they would manage to find him.
Sometimes, it was both Wild and Hyrule that would wander off somewhere and Wolfie would be sent to fetch them if Time felt they had been gone for too long.
Legend made a face, “Y-eah...” He raised a hand and raked it through his hair, “About that...”
Wind paused mid-step, whipping his head up in horror, “Don’t tell me we’re also lost!?”
“Alright. We’re not.”
“Liar!”
“You just told me to not to tell you-”
“I wasn’t being serious!” Wind griped, folding his arms and frowning petulantly. “But...are we lost?”
Legend coughed awkwardly, “I think so.”
“Great...”
Legend waved a hand in the air, “Don’t worry. We’ll find our-”
“Hey, you!” A new voice interrupted, and both Wind and Legend lifted their heads to see a lone stranger on the side of the road, beckoning to them.
Wind brightened with renewed hope, “Maybe we can ask them if they have a map!”
“Hold on a moment,” Legend gripped his shoulder, narrowed eyes fixated on the tall and lean figure waving to them, “Something’s off about him.”
Not to mention this stranger had appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Legend could have sworn that man hadn’t been there before.
Wind slipped from his grasp, rolling his eyes, “Always so distrustful, Legend! Lighten up would you?”
“I’ll have you know I have every reason to be distrustful.” Legend grumbled, following after Wind as the blue-clad hero all but skipped to the stranger. Legend’s senses were screaming that something was incredibly wrong. Something about that man just didn’t sit right with him.
“Come on, Legend!” Wind urged, gesturing for him to hurry up. “He’s probably just some helpless stranger.”
Legend frowned. Why did he get the feeling this person was anything but a helpless stranger?
“Hello, sir!” Wind greeted with a brilliant smile as the two neared him. “Did you need something?”
The man grinned down at him and Legend instinctively drew closer to Wind. He discreetly positioned himself between the man and Wind, watching the stranger with sharp, analytical eyes. He didn’t like that smile. Or the way his eyes gleamed when they fell upon the two of them.
“Well, the two of you looked a bit lost and I thought I might be able to help you out.” The stranger told them. Legend immediately knew he was lying.
“Sure you did,” the Hero scoffed, hand drifting to the handle of his sheathed blade, “Now, how about telling us the truth?”
Wind shot him a look of disapproval, “Legend!” He scolded. Legend ignored him.
The stranger blinked then appraised Legend carefully, taking in his outfit, his hat, hair and eye colour.
“Tell me, good sir, would your name happen to be Link?”
Alarm bells rang in Legend’s mind and he knew then and there that his suspicions were correct. This was no friendly stranger.
“Wind!” Legend shouted, shoving the younger Hero aside just as the stranger whipped out a sharp, curved knife-like weapon and lashed out at him with a maniacal laugh.
Wind grunted, eyes wide as he watched the stranger suddenly transform into a masked individual wearing a red and black form-fitting suit. He slammed into the ground and immediately scrambled to his feet as the penetrating sound of metal clashing against metal pierced the air. He didn’t hesitate to take his sword in hand and jump to Legend’s aid.
Legend dodged an arrow that their opponent shot with deadly accuracy. Wind ducked under another.
“What is this? Why is he attacking us?” Wind asked, sidling up to Legend, gripping the handle of his sword tightly in confusion.
“Now’s not the time to worry about that, Wind!” Legend curtly told him. Wind knew better than to take offence to the short tone. They were, after all, in the middle of a battle. Their opponent vanished with another laugh and the two stood back-to-back, waiting for him to reappear. “Get your bow ready, Wind.”
Wind did so without having to be told twice.
“Clearly, this guy has something against Link.” Legend muttered, referring to Wild as he gripped his sword arm. Wind heard a rustling noise above him and instinctively released the string of his bow, listening as the arrow sang through the air and buried itself into the flesh of their opponent just as he appeared.
He disappeared again only to materialize in front of Legend. Legend raised his sword and deflected the stranger’s blow with practiced ease. His attacks were swift and lethal. The skill of an assassin, Legend determined. Wind crouched low and let loose another arrow.
It flew straight and true and the masked individual vanished again. The cycle repeated itself and Legend’s patience was wearing thin. He had little patience to begin with.
“Would you just die already!” He burst out with a flurry of attacks. His hits never missed their mark- they rarely ever did. With Wind’s help, they finally succeeded in defeating the red and black clad assassin after what felt like hours of their opponent disappearing then reappearing and the Heroes trying in vain to guess where he might appear next.
The masked assassin staggered, an arm curled around their abdomen. They shook their hook-like weapon at the two Links, hissing angrily,
“This won’t be the last you see of me, Heroes!” And with that, he was gone.
Wind blinked. Then blinked again.
“Um...Legend?”
“What?” Came the terse response.
“Did he...” Wind began, rubbing his eyes to ensure they weren’t playing tricks with him, “Did he really just leave behind a bunch of bananas?”
“Looks like it.”
Wind frowned at the tone of Legend utilized, and turned to look at his companion, but Legend wasn’t standing beside him anymore. Instead,Wind found the Hero kneeling on the ground, gripping his side tightly. Worry lanced through Wind as he raced to Legend’s side,
“Legend!” He cried upon seeing the crimson red liquid trickling between Legend’s fingers and the dark stain growing on his already red tunic. “You’re hurt!”
Legend huffed out a short laugh, “Way to state the obvious, Wind.” He waved a bloodied hand dismissively in the air, “Don’t worry about it. It’s just a scratch.”
“No, it’s not!” Wind vehemently denied, digging through his pack, “And we don’t have any potions with us!” He bit his lip worriedly, eyeing the ghastly wound Legend bore. The fabric of his tunic had been torn, doing little to hide the injury from Wind’s sight. “It’s because you took that hit for me...” He realized with horror. The revelation struck him hard and Wind hung his head guiltily, “You wouldn’t be hurt if I hadn’t approached that man!” He fiddled with the end of his sleeve, berating himself for not having listened to Legend.
Legend knocked a fist on Wind’s head, “Cut that out,” The Hero scowled, “None of this was your fault. How could you have known that man would turn out to be some crazed assassin bent on killing us? ‘Sides, even if we had walked past and ignored him, he probably would have attacked us anyway.”
Wind sighed. Legend’s words helped to alleviate some of his guilt, but some of it still remained,
“I know you’re right,” he admitted, “But still. We don’t know where anyone is, where we are, or where to go! We have nothing to treat your wound with and you’re losing a lot of blood!” A Hero Wind might be, but he would never get used to seeing so much blood. It didn’t matter whether it was his own or a monster’s. Blood was blood and it made Wind uneasy to see it.
“We’re just going to have to manage with what we have,” Legend told him, rifling through his own pack and tugging out a ripped piece of cloth. With Wind’s help, they fastened it around Legend, the fabric soaking up the blood still flowing from the injury. “He got me good, didn’t he?”
Wind said nothing, tying the ends into a simple but effective knot.
Legend’s expression uncharacteristically softened when he saw that Wind was still beating himself up over his injury.
“Listen, Wind,” He started, “You’ve got to understand that this isn’t on you. I made the decision to take the hit, so the blame’s on both of us, alright?”
Wind slowly raised his gaze to meet Legend’s, a small smile playing on his lips. It was weak, but Legend was pleased to see it all the same, “I thought you said it wasn’t my fault?”
Legend shrugged, wincing lightly when it strained his wound. He rubbed it with gentle care,
“Well, you aren’t going to accept that now, are you?” He shot back. He glanced up to find the sun slowly sinking below the horizon, outlining the distant mountains with various pinks, purples, blues, and orange hues. “It’s getting late.” He muttered to himself.
Wind frowned when something else caught his eye, “You didn’t say you’d been shot!” He accused without any ire. Legend blinked and glanced down to find Wind was right.
“Oh...Guess that guy grazed me with one of his arrows.”
“You say that so calmly,” Wind crouched down and studied the wound, “It’s still a nasty cut. You shouldn’t put any pressure on your leg.” Without hesitation, Wind ripped the bottom of his tunic and swiftly knotted it around Legend’s newfound injury.
“We’re heroes,” Legend sighed, a hint of scorn evident in his tone, “We’re bound to get shot, run through, beaten, or struck down at some point.”
Wind knew he was right. It was the sad truth of being a Hero.
“Yeah...” He whispered, taking a seat beside Legend and toying with the long grass. He tugged a bit fiercely at a few blades, tearing out a couple and releasing them. The breeze swept them away.
“Well,” Legend eased himself onto the ground, curling his left arm under his head, “Guess we’re just going to have to wait for the others to find us.”
Wind drew his knees to his chest, his heart still heavy with guilt and remorse. He wrapped his arms around his knees and tucked his chin between them. He wished there was more he could have done. They had been ill-prepared. No potions, fairies, or other much-needed supplies. Wind knew the wounds were bad and had a good chance of becoming infected since they hadn’t been treated properly. They hadn’t even been cleansed. They had no water and there wasn’t any nearby.
They hadn’t meant to wander so far.
Wind spared a glance towards Legend. The older Hero had closed his eyes, his right arm gingerly resting on his stomach and hiding the bandaged wound from view, but Wind could still see it in his mind’s eye.
I hope someone finds us soon, Wind thought to himself. He didn’t want to risk an infection settling in and Legend falling ill because of it.
“I can hear you thinking.”
Wind couldn’t quite smother a grin at Legend’s aggravation. Injured or not, Legend was still Legend. Snarky, sarcastic, and outspoken. He’d have him no other way. It was amusing most times. Especially when Legend and Warrior would have a go at one another. Not one day passed without the two bickering back and forth at each other. But the group knew it was mostly all fun and games.
Four casually kept tallies of who won. So far, Legend was in the lead.
“Legend...”
“What?”
“Think the others will find us soon?”
Legend cracked an eye open, “I’m pretty sure they’re looking for us right now. They probably started searching a couple hours after we left.”
Wind nodded, shivering when the cool breeze caressed his form. As an islander, Wind was unaccustomed to the frigid temperatures of the night or wintry lands they would sometimes pass through.
“Hey, Wind,”
Wind shifted slightly to look at Legend when he’d spoken.
“Yeah?”
“In my pack.” Legend muttered. Wind immediately grabbed Legend’s pack and lifted the flap, giving him an expectant look. “There’s a cloak in there.”
Wind found it after a small search. He pulled it out and raised it, silently asking if this were the one Legend was referring too. The older teen nodded.
“Use it.”
Wind blinked then smiled shyly, securing the cloak around his shoulders and pulling it snugly around him.
“Thanks.”
“Hmpf.”
Wind’s smile broadened at the typical response. He turned himself around so he was facing Legend and positioned himself at the Hero’s side as if standing guard. He curled further into himself and listened as Legend’s breathing evened out until he’d slipped into a peaceful slumber.
Wind was thankful. Although Legend didn’t show it, he knew the Hero was in pain from the deep side wound. The graze on his leg most likely just irritated Legend more than it did pain him.
He released a sigh and waited.
Secret life
Chapter Two
You groaned as you rolled over as your alarm went off. You grabbed your phone and blinked. Wonho had sent a few massages over the course of the night. All spaced out from about a half an hour to an hour time. You went through each of them and smiled softly at what he had sent. “Fuck,” you mumbled to yourself as you threw the phone down. He was a smooth operator and knows how to turn on a woman.
You slipped out of bed and to the bathroom to get ready for the day. You picked up your phone and bit your lip slightly. You texted him back, [TXT:] If you aren’t busy this evening, could we meet for dinner? This time I’ll pay.
You knew it was a bit early and know that he wouldn’t be up. You made your way to work. It was boring as always. Once on lunch, your phone went off and you couldn’t help but smile as you seen that it was Wonho. [TXT: Wonho] of course baby. But I’m going to fight you on the paying part. Give me your address and I’ll pick you up tonight.
[TXT: Wonho: Dress nicely. I’m going to take you some place fancy 😉
You couldn’t help but groan at the thought. Someplace fancy means that it was out of your pay range for sure. He fucking tricked you and it was going all his way. First the drinks and now dinner. He really was a smooth operator. You texted him back the apartment building address and the apartment number. You blushed slightly knowing that he might think that you are poor with being in an apartment and not in a house.
The work day seemed to drag on and by the time it was time to go home, you were already going through your closet through your mind trying to figure out if there is something that would be good enough to wear on a fancy date. You shook your head as you though of some of the dresses that you had. Once home you darted into your room. You rush into your room to start pulling out dresses.  You throw each one that you didn’t like onto the bed. You hummed softly as you looked at a red dress. It would be fine for a fancy date. It didn’t show off too much, and it was a bit on the dressy side. You nod to yourself as you go and hang it up in the bathroom. You looked through your shoes and found one that looked good with the dress.
You quickly take a shower to get the day off of you and start to work on your hair and makeup. Your eyes kept looking at the phone to see when Wonho would say he is on the way over. Finally, the text came as you were slipping on the dress. [TXT: Wonho] I’m on my way baby. I’ll come up and get you. I don’t want anything to happen to you on the way down. 😉
You rolled your eyes. He was treating you like a flower that would crush with the slightest pain. You didn’t protest and texted back, [TXT] Okay, I’ll be waiting. Your jaw better not hit the floor when you see me. You teased, even though you know for sure that he wouldn’t be able to take his eyes off you or even his hands.
Once you were done you looked yourself over in the mirror and grinned at how you looked. It was a perfect first date outfit and look. A soft knock on the door made you smile more. What was with this man that you had met less than 24 hours ago. He made you feel like a school girl. You take your time getting to the door and open it. You smile as you look at Wonho. He brought his game too. He was dressed in a nice suite and tie. He opened his mouth to say something, but his words were lost.
You reached out and gently pressed his bottom jaw up. “Umm, some how I knew your jaw would hit the floor when you seen me.” You grinned at the work that you have done.
His hand reaches up to take yours. He slowly pulls it away from his jaw and presses a soft kiss on top of your hand. “You did baby. You look amazing, and I know that it will take a lot out of me to keep other guys off you.”
You could feel the blush spread across your cheek, not only from the kiss but by what he said. He smiles as he gently pulls you out of the door way. “I have a reservation, so we need to hurry. I’m just happy the boss let me have the night off for once.” He smiles and winks.
You lock up your apartment door and loop your arm through his. Somehow, this all felt right. You never felt this way with any guy you had dated in the past. He was kind, and made you feel like a queen to a point. There were never any actions that was forced, he almost let you take the lead on what was acceptable and what wasn’t.
Once down to his car, he was a gentleman and opened the door for you. He smiles as he takes your hand to help you into the car. Once in he softly kissed your hand before closing the door and going over to the driver side. You noticed an action that wasn’t normal for people, but never really questioned it. It was like he was watching for someone, almost like he would get attacked. You brushed it off and thought it was something that he always did and shouldn’t be worried about it.
The drive to the restaurant was full of questions. Mainly him to you. What do you like to eat, favorite color, what was your line of work, so on and so on. It was nice to have a guy interested in you and not just about the sex. He was wanting to get to know you, and that made you smile brightly. Occasionally, you got to ask him some questions. When it came to his job, he seemed to tense up, and the reply of “I just help run a club,” was all that was given. You questioned his reply to yourself, but never wanted to question him more about it.
Once at the restaurant he pulls up to the front for valet parking. He gets out of the car and walks over to help you out of the car as one of the attendants opened the door for you. You smile as you take Wonho’s hand and gets out of the car carefully. You wrap your arm around his again and half grins when other women look over at you with a smug look on their face. Wonho laughs softly as he leans down and softly kisses your cheek. “They are all jealous of you baby.  Not anyone can be seen around my arm.” He grins as he too glances at some of the women, many of them had tried and failed to be around his arm and to see someone like you made them jealous.
Once inside, he tells the host about the reservation and his name. She smiles and bows slightly, before shooting you a glance. Something told you that even the host tried to be around Wonho’s arm. You stayed close to Wonho as you both followed the host to a small room, candles lit along with a bottle of wine already on ice. You blinked as you looked up at Wonho. Something about the club owner was not going to pay for all of this. He HAD to be a CEO of some sort.
He pulls out your chair for you and smiles, “after you princess.” He grins as he sees your face turn a bright red at the new nickname. Now he was stepping over the line and finding things that make you blush. You playfully slap his arm as you sit down. “Yah, it’s a bit too early for that now.” You huffed as you gently puffed your cheeks.
Wonho laughs softly and kisses your cheek softly. “Okay, so princess has to wait for a little bit. So, baby it is then.” He grins before going over to the other side of the table. He sits down and opens the bottle of wine and pours out two glasses and sets one in front of you.
You smile as you take a sip and then look sternly at him. “Did you bring me here just to show me off to all those women? Even the host seems to have been a bit angry that I could be with you.” You crossed your arms over your chest.
Wonho chuckles softly as he takes a sip. “Well, that was part of it. But I really wanted to treat you like a princess.” He folds his hands and rests his chin on top. Almost like he was about to make a business deal with you. “There is more, since last night I’ve been smitten so hard for you. My brothers could see that I had something on my mind. Minhyuk, the one that you saw last night, wasn’t impressed with you. However, I’m sure if he sees you now, he would change his mind.” He smiles softly, “it makes me just want to bring you to the house and show you off.”
You blink slightly as he talks, it was like he was already dating you. You took a sip of wine and sets it down. “Is this your way of asking if I would go out with you.” Your arms once again find their home across your chest. You weren’t sure if you were ready to date or not. He was hot, good eye candy yes, and how he was flaunting you to others, did kind of turn you on. You wanted to be shown off, but you didn’t want to let that out just yet.
Wonho grins as he looks into your eyes, almost as if he was reading your mind. “I guess in a way, yes I am. I want to get to know you more, naturally that was why I was asking questions in the car, and even agreed to the date. If I wanted to have a quickie, we wouldn’t have even left your apartment.” He leans back slightly before taking another sip of wine. “There are somethings that I can’t tell you yet.” He bites his lip almost as if regretting saying that. You raise an eye brow as you look at him. “It will come in due time. Let’s just say that sometimes money is a target for some peop….”
His sentence was cut off by his phone ringing. “Fuck..,” he mumbles as he looks at the screen. “Hold on baby. The boss is calling…I need to take this.” He gets up and as he walks past, he kisses your cheek and puts the phone to his ear. “What do you want?” He asked as he walks out of the room and closes the door behind him.
You huff softly, “so much for a night off.” You mumble to yourself as you take another sip of your wine. You seen the menu that was standing close to the wine bucket and picked it up to look through it. There was a lot of expensive food and your eyes grew a little as you looked at the price. Somehow you weren’t feeling all that hungry knowing how deep Wonho had to dig deep into his wallet for just a date with you. You sighed softly knowing that he wouldn’t let you not eat. He was going to make sure you were treated as a princess. His princess. You couldn’t help but smile at the thought.
You turn as you hear the door open and Wonho walking back in. His mood seemed to change a little, he seemed upset, but once he seen you, he smiled softly. “I’m sorry baby, the boss wanted to ask me something about tomorrow.” He sits down and shows his phone as he turns it off. “There, no more calls. This is my night off.” You couldn’t help but smile brightly. He did want to spend the night with you and would do anything to keep it just the two of you.
Wonho smiles as sees the menu by you. “Did you decide on what you want baby?” He asks before taking another sip of his wine.
You pout as you look at him. “I’ll feel guilty if I order something. It’s all so expensive.” You confessed as you crossed your arms again. “I knew you had a game plan to make sure that I couldn’t pay for dinner. I just didn’t know that it would be almost 3 months’ worth of pay to pay for ONE meal.” You huffed as you playfully glare at him.  “First it is showing me off and now it’s flaunting your money around.”
Wonho blinks as his mouth opens to protest on everything you say. He frowns slightly as he looks down, “by no means am I trying to flaunt my money around. I just wanted to treat you to a nice dinner. I guess I thought you would like it being treated like a princess and having a nice meal.” He bites his lip as he sighs softly, you could tell this really crushed his spirit.
You sighed softly as he leans over to gently cup his cheek. There was something about him this way that made it seem like he needed you more that what he let on. You smile softly and press a soft kiss to his lips. “I’m sorry I was so harsh. I’m just not good to this kind of treatment is all. I’m so used to the fast food type dates. Don’t take it too personal, please.” You offered him a soft smile as you kiss him again, this time feeling a smile coming from him.
“So, is that a yes on dating me?” He teased as he placed his hand on top of yours.
You chuckle softly and nods, “I guess it is. I guess I’ll be your princess. But prince charming better mind his p’s and q’s, or else he will feel the wrath of an angry princess.” You grin as you take a sip of wine, finishing what was in your glass. Before you could even ask for a refill Wonho was already filling the glass for you.
“Then I will make sure my princess is well taken care of. And that starts with figuring out what she wants to eat.” He grins as he picks up the second menu and looks it over, even though he has memorized it and knows what he wants already.
Mr. Sparkles Loses His Sparkle REVIEW
SPOILERS BELOW
Mochi deserved to go viral I'm so proud of him.
The episode starts in the nerd lab where Hiro has made a functional ping-pong bot. Gogo is up against it, ready to beat the bot, but Fred storms in with alarming news. He shows the gang there's a factory on fire and they need to stop it from spreading any further. Their gear is apparently at Fred's, so they head over there, but the suits are not in their designated spot. Honey Lemon then remembers they left them at her and Gogo's apartment so they go there and suit up. By the time they arrive on scene, the fire department has showed up and the fire is out. Hiro realizes they need to figure out a better way to suit up.
The next morning in the cafe, Cass wants everyone to see Mochi's latest trick. Honey Lemon is ready to film this and Mochi slow claps. It's indeed adorable and Honey posts it online. Fred remembers that he has an extra ticket to Maximum Insane Obstacle Challenge. It's the number one online game show where contestants have to compete in, you guessed it, obstacle challenges that are insane to the max. Hiro is too busy working on their issue with suiting up to go. Wasabi claims he'll be busy organizing his organizer. Gogo makes it clear that there is nothing anyone can say that will make her want to go. Honey would go, but she's throwing another sticker party. Gogo, remembering the last sticker party (in which stickers are put literally everywhere in their apartment), Gogo agrees to go with Fred. She can't do another sticker party.
Later in the day, they're at the studio where the game show is held. Fred has on a raincoat poncho because their seats are in the 'maximum insane gross zone'. He only brought one poncho. The game show begins and the host is none other than Mr. Sparkles! I admit, he's good at his job. The sound of a chicken clucking goes off which means it's time to find out who the first contestant will be. An egg rolls its way to Mr. Sparkles and when he cracks it, he calls out the seat number revealed inside. The man in that seat is beyond excited to play the first challenge which is called Sushi Limbo. He has to dress as a piece of sushi and jump through huge chopsticks. If he gets caught by them, they'll dip him into soy sauce. The man starts out doing really well, but what looks to be the last pair of chopsticks gets a hold of him and he falls right into the sauce. Some sauce gets on Fred and Gogo, but don't worry; it's low sodium.
Next, a crying baby sound effect goes off and it's time to Feed The Baby! The goal is to squirt a bunch of milk into a hungry baby, but the baby is also not feeling well apparently. The next egg is cracked and Gogo's seat is the lucky number! She's not fond of the idea of feeding the baby or having to dress like a baby (that's the insane part). She doesn't want to look like an idiot in front of everyone, but Fred says not to worry about what others think and he came prepared to be humiliated. He's wearing nothing, but a diaper under that poncho. Gogo passes on being a contestant.
Meanwhile, Hiro has Baymax, Honey Lemon and Wasabi in an open field. Hiro wants to demo the long-ranged capabilities of their new suit delivery system. Currently, the suits are at Fred's, which is on the other side of the city. With a press of a button on his phone, Hiro has their super suits fly themselves across town. They arrive well, however, the suits place themselves on the wrong person. Hiro is wearing Wasabi's, Honey is wearing Baymax's, Baymax is wearing Hiro's and Wasabi is wearing Honey's. It's quite the sight to see. Hiro isn't sure why there was an error, but Honey assures it's just a fluke.
Back at their apartment, Honey is thrilled to announce to Gogo that the video she got of Mochi slow clapping has gone viral. He's an internet star!
Meanwhile at Mr. Sparkles' studio, people are taking photos of him. His phone buzzes, and he now sees that Mochi's viral video is gaining more popularity. His game show video is currently the most viewed video of all time and he wants to make sure he stays on top. He jumps on a trampoline in a cowboy outfit and then sticks a landing on a...horse body with a wiener face? It's not impressive to his slowly fading audience and he begins noticing that his merchandise is being replaced by Mochi (aka 'Slow Clap Cat') merch. Mochi's video hits number one and Mr. Sparkles is more determined than ever to get his spot back. He hits fragile objects with a huge fish while rollerskating and dresses up like a doll, but to no avail. Mochi's video is trending incredible well and Mr. Sparkles video has plummeted significantly.
In his dressing room, he's giving himself a pep talk when one of his employees comes in to announce that Yaki Taco will no longer be sponsoring him. Yaki Taco now presents Mochi. This angers him further, saying that no one can take away his sparkle.
Later on in the night, Hiro is presenting the next version of the suit delivery system to Baymax and Wasabi. The suits arrive in a large circular container, but the suits were supposed to pop out upon their arrival. Hiro is now frustrated that it won't work and Wasabi decides to leave, but the container starts rolling downhill and it's headed for Wasabi. Wasabi does well out-running it as Hiro chases after it (with Baymax slowly following behind). Wasabi jumps between two trees. The container hits these trees which activates the machine to shoot out the suits.
Now caught up to him, Baymax notes Wasabi has a minor abrasion on his elbow and Hiro apologizes for this. He doesn't understand why his brain isn't coming up with the proper solution and it hasn't been working out for him lately. Wasabi suggests that Hiro is experiencing what all scientist fear...inventors block. Hiro is shocked by this and one of Baymax's rocket fists hits Hiro in the face. Hiro says it's a seven before Baymax can even finish asking his usual "how would you rate your pain" question.
The next day, Hiro is continuing to draw a blank on a new idea. He flops on his bed admitting that he does have inventors block. Baymax scans him and states that his condition may be psychological. He suggests therapy and Baymax attempts an exercise with Hiro. He asks him what his childhood was like, but Hiro doesn't understand what that has to do with inventors block. He explains that self improvement is a life-long process, but Hiro needs faster results.
Later on, Mr. Sparkles tries to enter his own studio, but the guard (Felony Carl) says they're at full capacity. He's upset by this, but despite explaining who he is, he's still not getting inside. Anyway, Cass is riding a bike next to the building with Mochi in a front basket. Everyone outside is excited to see Slow Clap Cat (Mochi loves the attention too), but Mr. Sparkles continues to grow angry at becoming a nobody to everyone around him. He ominously backs away, saying "we'll see who has the last clap".
In the nerd lab, Wasabi is working on something and Hiro still hasn't thought of anything new. He worries about never getting over his inventors block. Wasabi asks when he last took a break, but Hiro doesn't do breaks. Wasabi explains that he's had his best ideas when he wasn't trying and "breaks can lead to breakthroughs" which is really good advice. He then persuades Hiro to meditate with him. During the meditation, Hiro imagines he's floating on a fluffy, white cloud and one of the clouds next to him shapes into a laptop. Wasabi's face appears in another cloud, displeased with Hiro brainstorming during meditation. Hiro makes Wasabi's face cloud disappear, but in real life, he's actually slapping Wasabi's face.
On the news, Bluff Dunder has Cass and Mochi on to talk about Mochi's video. Cass admits it's exciting about how his video is the most viewed ever. Going on commercial break, Cass thanks Bluff for having her on the show. He offers to give her an autograph and even though she turns it down, he still gives her one anyway. Meanwhile, Mochi gets distracted by a wind up mouse and goes after it. Let the fun begin.
Later on, Fred comes into the cafe to show a video of Mr. Sparkles. He's announcing his brand new show called Totally Lethal Unfair Obstacle Challenge. The camera zooms in on Mochi inside a rocket. Mr. Sparkles is challenging everyone to beat his obstacle within the next hour. If someone succeeds, Mochi goes free. If not, he'll launch Mochi will go into space. The countdown begins! The gang is determined to save him within the hour. Hiro's latest idea for getting their suits delivered is using a voice command on his phone. He instructs to have the suits delivered to the Lucky Cat Cafe, but the voice command mishears him terribly (twice) and sends the suits to the middle of the ocean. They don't have backup suits either. Cass shows up at the cafe and says she needs to hang up fliers. Hiro tells Baymax to go with her and to make sure she doesn't find out that Mr. Sparkles has him. The rest of the team will start "searching". Hiro tells his friends to buy him some time at the studio. Hiro now knows what to do and how to do it.
The gang manages to sneak into the studio (since it's boobytrapped). The only way to save Mochi is to complete the obstacle. Twenty minutes are remaining. The challenge they all have to try to beat is called Scream Of Broccoli. They have to wear a broccoli suit, clear a pot of fon-doom (there are ropes to hold onto). Then they have to run on a conveyor belt and avoid getting hit by swinging broccoli. Fred is all in for this challenge and goes first. He makes a run for the ropes, but he doesn't grab on and falls right into the melted cheese. Hiro is currently working on another new design, gaining inspiration from his ping-pong bot. With Mochi on a computer screen (and 15:30 left on the timer), he tells him to hang on.
Wasabi is up next for the challenge and successfully gets through the first part of the obstacle. He manages to dodge a few swinging broccoli pieces, but one does knock him flat on his face. He's still going, but huge carrots come rolling his way and another broccoli knocks him into a tomato pit. A robotic hand picks him up and dumps him into ranch dressing. He gave it some good effort.
Cass is putting up fliers for Mochi, confessing she'd fall to pieces if something happened to him. Baymax blocks her view of seeing Mochi on TV and gives her a warm hug. During this hug he lifts her up and gets her away from seeing what's really going on.
Honey Lemon is now going against the obstacles. She gracefully gets through the first part and hops on rolling barrels as if she does so everyday. Mr. Sparkles then shows off an unfair part. He makes part of the belt disconnect and Honey goes flying. She gets dunked in the ranch too. There's only five minutes left and time for one last contestant. Gogo isn't fond of looking like an idiot, but she is wearing the broccoli suit and passes through the fon-doom challenge with ease. Mr. Sparkles strikes her down with some of the cheese, but she grabs a carrot and swings herself back on the belt. She dodges a heavy blast of ranch and slides onto another belt. She grabs onto a carrot and smacks everything that comes in her way. She's close to winning, but there's one major obstacle left and it's the most dangerous one Mr. Sparkles has ever designed.
It's a giant blender and the blades actually work. Luckily there are rings for Gogo to swing across. Only one minute to go now. She's getting across well despite losing a shoe, but Mr. Sparkles adds a watermelon canon into the mix. Pineapples fall from the ceiling too and some of the juice gets onto Gogo's last ring. She slips, but his holding onto the edge of the blender. Gogo struggles, but successfully pulls herself up, makes a run for it and hits the button with a second to spare!
Gogo demands to have Mochi, but Mr. Sparkles goes against his word and launches Mochi anyway. Mr. Sparkles exits the studio on a giant rocket shaped chicken because why not. The gang is upset thinking that Mochi will be gone forever, but Hiro shows up with his newest idea. Pressing a button on his phone, his own rocket flies on in and chases after the rocket Mochi is in. Hiro increases speed on his rocket and with a few more presses, hands appear from the bot, take the window off and carefully gets a hold of Mochi. The bot comes back and makes a smooth landing. Everyone is happy to have Mochi back safe and sound and Hiro is excited that his bot worked. Mochi slow claps for Hiro and everyone else joins in on the clapping.
The next day at the cafe, Fred comes in with exciting news that 'Slow Clap Cat Reunites with Owner' has become the most viewed video ever. Wasabi asks Hiro how he got over his inventors block. He figures seeing Mochi in trouble made him forget he was blocked in the first place. The idea he came up with led him to something else. He re-purposed the bot (who is now known as Skymax) to be their new suit delivery system. Skymax shows up with the suits and Fred asks if he can also clean them since his is starting to stink, but Skymax shakes his head.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sparkles is thrilled to see that his latest game show hit ten million views. He thinks everyone wants his sparkle, but in reality, he's wanted for what he did.
This episode was pretty interesting!
I really liked that the show had an episode where it shows that it's not easy to suit up right away. They can easily forget where they last had their suits and I think Hiro trying to figure out a better way to have their suits brought to them was such a good idea. I'm really hoping to see Skymax being used for this in future episodes.
I'm glad we also got an episode where Mochi gets some spotlight. Cat videos definitely go viral and it was great to see that his slow clap became the most viewed video. He deserves all the merch he can get! Where can I get a Slow Clap Cat t-shirt?
Mr. Sparkles is pretty cool. I like that the creators turned a scrapped villain from the movie into one of many villains for the show. He's definitely more of a humorous villain than dangerous. I mean yeah, his obstacle to get to Mochi was indeed lethal (Gogo could have slipped and died if she had fallen in the blender, not cool man). I think it makes sense that he's more on the comical side. He's good being a game show host, but he likes the spotlight being on him. Still, I would love to see him again.
Gogo did spectacular in this episode. She didn't want to be a contestant on the show, but with Mochi's life being on the line, she took action and she did amazing! Actually, it was really awesome to see the whole gang do their best on trying to save Mochi. It's really sweet that the gang loves him as much as the Hamada family does.
Seeing Hiro work through inventors block was cool. It did feel like a similar theme to Failure Mode, but instead of Hiro deciding to give up, he was able to figure something out and not only did it save Mochi, but it is now the answer to their super suit problem.
I'll admit, when Baymax asks Hiro what his childhood was like, I was so ready for it, but I'm not disappointed that he didn't get into it. Due to how the episode played out, I think him discussing his childhood would have been out of place, but maybe we'll get into it another time when the time is right.
On a scale of one to ten...I'd rate Mr. Sparkles Loses His Sparkle an 8.2!
________________________________________________________________
It had been a month or so now. And still Mal couldn’t seem to wrap her head around the fact that she had killed that man.
Sure he probably wasn’t innocent, but did he really deserve to die ?
As the days passed, she wasn’t able to focus anymore. She felt like she was carrying around her burden and it kept weighing her down.
She hated feeling like this. Helpless.
Even more so given that she wasn’t one to reach out for comfort or sympathy from others. And even if she did, she most probably wouldn’t be getting any here, in Hydra’s compound.
Her inability to focus and concentrate on her training was starting to unnerve Miss Sarkassian. She knew she had to let the young girl have some space in fear of pressuring her into a intense training that would only lead to the failure of the on-going operation.
But it bothered her. It kept her from sleeping peacefully at night. She knew her mission was being delayed solely because the teen couldn’t separate the work from the feelings.
She had much to learn.
Mal felt she was slowly angering her mentor. Even though she tried to seem unbothered and insensitive to the various glares she felt burning on her back when she wandered aimlessly around the facility’s part she was allowed to stay in, she felt her powers slowly burning underneath her skin.
As if begging her to unleash them, to let them loose. It had been a month since she had used them.
And the anger she felt towards Madame Hydra kept growing, eating away at her insides. Making her entire body sizzle with the urge to electrify that woman to death.
Mal didn't know how to describe herself anymore. She couldn’t help but feel that strange and vicious darkness enveloping her from time to time.
She could see it, changing her, as if she was seeing things from a new perspective.
This morning, Mal woke up to the sound of an alarm. A loud and obnoxious sound which hurt her enhanced hearing.
Although she knew better than to just let her emotions get the best of her, so she rushed to her small private bathroom where she changed, out of the camera’s range, into her everyday outfit.
A combat gear. It was ill-fitted, seemed too big for her. She knew it had probably belonged to another girl before her. A taller one.
As she got out of the small space, the room she was locked in for the night slammed open and four heavily armed soldiers circled the young girl.
Barely awaken she felt threatened as Madame Hydra stepped into the room and looked at her, eyes cold as ice.
“Get her out there” Her tone sharp, she crossed her arms across her chest and waited for the guards to follow her orders.
As she was escorted from the room into an unknown corridor, Mal knew better than to struggle or ask questions.
She kept her face blank, bare of any emotions that could give away her fear or the pain in her arms because of the soldiers’ grip on her.
She walked in sync with them for about five minutes until they stopped when they arrived in front of what looked like doors to the outside world.
As confused as she was, the teenager refused to question her trainer’s actions. She refused to show her how much faith she had lost in her since the incident.
Katya Sarkissian would never admit to the world, but she was worried.
Unfortunately she wasn’t the one who had planned the little activity Mal would be delivered to once she stepped between those doors.
Her superior had confessed, or rather demanded, that Mal was to be shown who were the leaders. That she couldn’t just wander around as if she was on some sort of vacation.
She was here because she had a purpose and if she didn’t want to fulfill it anymore then they’d have to convince her.
The timeline had ended, which meant they were tired of waiting. Madame Hydra never ever thought she would care for some stupid mutant.
But Mal was something else, and she knew it. Everyone knew it.
She knew what was standing on the other side of those doors, she knew she wasn’t leading Mal outside for another mission.
But she preferred pretending she wasn’t aware, so maybe, just maybe, when her protégée got out of that place she would still trust her somehow.
Mal turned her head to look at the woman who was standing beside the small group. She knew there were going to be bruises and her arms, they felt kind of numb.
“Mal, once you go through that door you’ll be in for another mission. It’s time. We won’t see each other for awhile but I am sure you will do great.” She smiled tightly, as if she wanted to add something but couldn’t.
The girl ignored her. She turned back towards the doors as she knew the certainty in her mentor’s voice felt more like a implied threat.
Something along the lines of ‘you don’t wanna find out what’s gonna happen if you don’t succeed’.
Memories of the last failed mission flooding her head, Mal shivered in fright.
She did not want to live that again.
She was determined and she was going to succeed no matter what the mission consisted of.
“Are you ready ?”
Suddenly she felt something surge through her entire being, she felt like they were hiding something.
This wasn’t a regular mission like those she had been accustomed to do in the past years. This was something bigger.
Something bad.
But either way, she didn’t have a choice in the end.
So she whispered “Yes.”
As the word slipped out her mouth, the doors opened and she could feel her entire being trembling, betraying her as her fear was displayed to anyone looking at her right now.
The light of the sun blinded her as they stepped outside.
But when she couldn’t feel the heat on her face or the light rumble of the wind in the sky, she panicked opening her eyes.
That’s when she knew she was right.
The sun wasn’t illuminating the grey sky, the white and agressive light of the neons in the ceiling were.
She couldn’t feel the wind in her hair because there was no wind, in fact it felt like there was no air at all. Mal felt like she was suffocating, she couldn’t breathe anymore.
She couldn’t stand on her own when her breathing became rapid and irregular. It wasn’t exactly the fact that she had been tricked into thinking she was going outside when she wasn’t that made her suddenly very aware and anxious.
It was more that in front of her stood, mighty and proud, a chair. But not just a simple chair, it was wired to all kinds of machine and restraints were there.
Seeing as they were made of very thick plastic material, she knew that chair had been made for her.
Scientists were discussing near her but she couldn’t hear them over the sound of the blood rushing to her head.
This time, she didn’t try hiding what she was feeling. She struggled and kicked and fought against those soldiers who were restraining her. She looked over her shoulder in a attempt to see the woman behind all this. But to her dismay, the doors had already been closed.
When she felt her powers take control of her actions, sensing her inability to fight back, she was astonished when nothing came out.
Everything was there, the power was prickling at her skin desperately trying to come out but couldn’t.
That’s when the pain kicked in.
She fell to her knees as the soldiers loosened their hold on her, she cried out as her own electricity felt locked down in her body.
“Install her on the seat please” the tallest man in a white coat asked the soldiers.
She shook her hear, knowing something even worse was coming.
And as she was about to beg them another wave of pain hit her, leaving her breathless, her mouth gaping. She trashed around trying to break free of the restraints that were now holding her close and stuck to the chair.
When the pain subsided a little, she opened her eyes and look straight at the man who was now taking a needle filled with a translucent liquid.
“Wha- what is h-happening ?” She didn’t recognize her own voice, it felt distant and weak.
“Dear child, didn’t you notice something was different with your outfit this morning ?”
He smirked and looked at her with an evil glint in his eyes.
That’s when she knew. That’s when she understood how all this was happening.
As he stuck the needle in her now limp body she was fuming on the inside.
That’s why her combat gear felt bigger and thicker than usual and why it smelled so weird. A smell she wouldn’t ever forget.
She could feel it now, her electricity was stuck between her skin and the inside of the outfit, made with an almost undetectable layer of plastic sort of fabric.
Mal felt stupid, how could she fall for that.
She felt angry, angrier than ever.
And most of all she was hurt, physically and mentally.
Once again, the world had proven how little people cared for her.
Madame Hydra had been pretending all along she thought, she didn’t give a damn about her.
And as rage took over her body, her heart broke.
Once again.
As Mal fell into unconsciousness, she wondered if she could survive another heartbreak, or if she should just let herself die tortured at the hands of that man.
My world comes alive with you | Thiam Week Day 5
Soulmate AU
Nobody said you need to fall in love with your soulmate.
Soulmates were a thing nobody could fully explain or understand. Science was working to figure out why your world was all black and white until you met that one person to bring color in your life. Others tried to find out what exactly was defining soulmates. Most soulmates were romantically involved but here and there were stories about people just being friends with their soulmate and in relationships with other people.
No matter what, finding your soulmate was an exciting journey and once you found them society paid their tribute. Liam couldn’t count the times he had seen people suddenly rejoicing, hugging each other (sometimes crying) and other’s applauding them, congratulating the newly bonded soulmates.
Liam himself was thrilled about meeting his soulmate one day. He had hoped at some point it would be Hayden, first love and all, but no matter how long they had been together, the world stayed gray. Then Hayden moved away and Brett had come into Liam’s life again, only to find his soulmate later on and Liam staying behind once more. It was okay for him, Brett and he were great friends now, and Liam knew the chances of meeting your soulmate in high school were quite small but one could dream, right? Especially when you had a best friend who had found his soulmate in Corey and was teasing Liam about his color choices all the time since then. He loved Mason but one more comment about how the color of his jacket and shirt didn’t match and he would throw a fit.
A chill breeze made Liam shiver and he pulled his jacket higher, trying to hide in it. His dad had texted him to let him know he was running late at the hospital and it would take a bit more time for him to come and pick Liam up, so Liam was left to wait for the car to finally arrive. He stood in front of the school, after lacrosse practice, bag hanging over one shoulder and watched the other team members filter out of the parking lot one by one.
Rolling his shoulders Liam fought the slight strain in his muscles from training. Coach had been merciless today, making them do the exercises over and over again and no matter how much Liam usually loved lacrosse, he was dead tired right now.
The sound of skateboard wheels on concrete made him look up and he saw a figure skating over the parking lot. Liam didn’t need to see his face to know who it was: Theo Raeken. Liam had seen him often after practice when he used the school ground to practice his skateboard stunts.   He and Liam had never spoken a word to each other as far as Liam was concerned and he had no intention to change that. He knew Theo was in the same grade as Scott, Stiles, Malia, and Lydia so he was almost two years older than Liam and also a senior but that about was it. He had his group of friends, Theo had his own and despite Corey once being part of Theo’s group, he now had integrated himself into Liam’s group of friends.
Liam looked down at his phone again and just started a game when he heard the clatter of a skateboard hitting the ground and a pained groan. Turning his head and looking up, Liam saw Theo on the ground and his skateboard a bit further away. The older clutched his left arm and glared at his board. Liam just to walk over and check if he had broken anything. Doctor’s son and such, you know?
“You okay?” He asked when approaching and Theo looked up, a look of surprise passing over his face. Then he nodded.  “Just fell, nothing major. Will be healed in a few days, it’s just a scrape.” He was still rubbing his arm and Liam held out his hand to help him to his feet which Theo gladly took.  “Thanks.” He said with a small smile and Liam returned it softly.
“You’re Liam Dunbar, right? You’re on the lacrosse team with Scott and Stiles.” Surprised the other noticed him, Liam nodded. “That’s me. And you’re Theo, you skate here often, right?” “Yeah, it’s nice when nobody is here and all those stairs and banisters are good for trying some tricks.” “Like falling off your board and breaking your arm?” Liam asked and Theo scoffed before picking up his skateboard.  “Sassy, I thought you were the shy one.” “Me? Shy?” Liam asked incredulously and laughed. “Never!”
A car honked behind him and when Liam turned around he saw his dad waving. “That’s my ride, gotta go. See you.” Theo waved goodbye and then got on his board again to skate off in the opposite direction while Liam got into his dad’s car. “Sorry for being so late.” Dr. Geyer apologized but Liam waved it off. “Don’t worry, it’s fine.” Liam sighed and leaned against the window, enjoying the warmth of the car. “Tired?” His dad asked and Liam nodded. Dr. Geyer laughed.  “I remember my lacrosse days. I had days where I could have fallen asleep standing in a corner.” Liam smiled sleepily and tried to stay awake until they were at home. There he just ate something and then changed into PJs before crawling into bed. Falling asleep was easy and he was out light a light shortly after his head hit the pillow.
It wasn’t until the next morning he noticed something was different. He had gotten out of bed after his alarm clock rang, had shuffled into the bathroom to brush his teeth and get ready and only when he walked back into his room to get dressed and reached for his shirt, he stopped dead in his tracks. Because his shirt had a deep rich color Liam couldn’t quite place it but it didn’t fit with the color of his desk chair at all. Yellow, his mother had once told him his desk chair was yellow and so yellow clashed with whatever color his shirt was.
Colors. Liam could see colors.
He blinked and looked around the room, realizing everything seemed to have turned from grey to colorful. It was overwhelming, to say the least, and his jaw dropped. How on earth did this happen? When did this happen? Why did this happen? Seeing colors meant he had met his soulmate for the first time but he couldn’t remember...
The realization hit Liam harder than expected and he gulped. There had only been one person yesterday he had the first interaction ever with. And that person had been Theo Raeken.  Liam sunk down on his bed, trying to grasp all this. He must have sat there for a while because suddenly his mother barged in. “Liam, honey, are you alright?” Liam swallowed dryly and looked at her. “I can see colors, mom.” He announced.
His parents had been enthusiastic and so proud of him, though Liam had no idea why. He did nothing except talking to somebody he always saw around school but never had a conversation with before. Still, his parents were happy and it didn’t even matter when Liam told them his soulmate obviously was a boy. They were that open-minded.
Now Liam was in school, just had gotten out of his mother’s car, and looked around, took in his fellow student’s outfits and suddenly he understood why Mason had teased him about colors. Some really clashed and Liam chuckled softly before looking down at himself. His outfit was okay, even though he was still trying to figure every color out. When you saw in black and white all your life, it was hard to recognize everything at first sight.
Walking to his locker, he took his time with looking around and enjoying the school colors. He liked the colors the lacrosse jerseys were in, he realized. Maybe that was his favorite color for now, he had not figured that out yet. Taking books out of his locker, he even studied the covers and decided he didn’t like the blue of his Biology book. Suddenly Mason and Corey appeared next to him and Liam took in his friend’s appearance.
“What’s up?” He greeted while slamming his locker shut. They started walking towards their first class and fell in an easy conversation until Liam could not hold back himself any longer. “I can see colors.” he admitted, making Mason blink at him and Corey raising an eyebrow before getting a look of utter joy on his face. “Oh my god, you met your soulmate? Congratulations! Who is it? Why are you not together now? How did you find you meet? What did you say? That did they say?” An excited Corey was worse than Mason who now looked as happy as his boyfriend. Liam stopped walking and sighed.
“Okay, I think I met him. I mean, obviously, I did, but it wasn’t like in the movies when you meet them and colors explode around you. Maybe because it was already too dark outside. Who? Well, I think it’s Theo Raeken. He’s the only one I had the first encounter with yesterday and suddenly boom colors.” “Theo Raeken? As in the one who sits behind Scott in biology? The one who skates around the school on a daily basis? The one who basically landed the jackpot in puberty and is one of the hottest guys around?” Mason asked fascinated and Corey cleared his throat.  “Boyfriend. Right next to you. You may be right but still though. Don’t crush on Liam’s soulmate.”
Liam blushed at this. It sounded strange, his soulmate. Had he really found them? This was all so sudden and overwhelming. Was he supposed to love Theo? Were they supposed to be together? What exactly was the etiquette for this?
“I need to talk to him.”
But talking to Theo was easier said than done and the whole Liam never got a glimpse of the older boy. It made him anxious, not being able to see where Theo stood on this. Maybe he should visit him after school at his home? But he had no idea where the other lived.
In the end, it was Theo who found Liam or rather waited outside for him when Liam exited his last period for the day. Casually leaning against the wall he smiled at Liam and Liam quietly agreed with Mason, Theo was good looking. Liam smiled back softly and Mason gave his arm a supportive squeeze before walking away with Corey. Liam stepped closer and then found he had no idea what to say. Luckily Theo seemed to have this covered. “Can I invite you to a coffee?” He asked and Liam nodded.
That’s how they found themselves at a small table in a coffee shop not far from the school. Liam usually didn’t drink coffee but for now, it would do and Theo confessed to being a coffee addict. Liam chuckled at this and when they got their orders they sat down and Liam shrugged.
“So, colors.” He said lamely. Theo nodded slowly and sipped his coffee. “Colors.” He agreed after he had swallowed. “This morning I realized my sheets were bluish green all of sudden and I more confused than ever.” He looked down at his coffee. “Are you okay with this?” He then asked and looked at Liam again. “I don’t know?” Liam said a tad helplessly. “I mean, I’m excited I found you but...I thought when you meet your soulmate...” “You would love them?” Theo finished the sentence and Liam had to agree with that. That was what he had wanted to say, so he nodded. “Do you love me?” He then asked and when Theo shook his head, he actually let out a relieved sigh. “Thank god, I was so anxious about disappointing you!” “Disappointing me? Why?” Theo asked stunned before he sipped on his coffee. “Because I maybe not return your feelings.” Liam explained and Theo shrugged. “Not all soulmates love each other that way. Some are just good friends. That’s okay. You seem like a great guy and I’d like to get to know you better.” He said nonchalantly and Liam felt himself smile.  “So, just friends?” “Just friends.” The confirmed and smirked.
****** Just friend proved to be the best decision because being friends with Theo was awesome. If you got to know him better, you realized that while he was sarcastic and secretively, he was also a great dork who liked video games just as much as Liam and they shared the same taste in movies. His other friends were stunned by their decision to just be friends, but they accepted it and Liam was happy to see Mason and Corey getting along with Theo so greatly. Scott and the others already knew him thanks to being at the same grade, that wasn’t much of a problem. But Theo’s biggest fans by far were Liam’s parents.
They had insisted on getting to know their son’s soulmate, friendship or not, and so Liam invited Theo for dinner on a Friday night. Theo had accepted with a smile and Liam had been happy yet when Friday came around he was a nervous wreck. But when Theo finally knocked at the door and hugged Liam in greeting, it disappeared. He felt calmer around Theo, had noticed this weeks ago. His IED was calmed too and so this was still something he needed to tell Theo about but that had time. Theo had smiled at him, rubbing Liam’s arm as if he knew what his soulmate was thinking. Maybe he did or he was just good at reading Liam.
When Theo greeted his parents, Liam could basically see his mother swooning about this charming young man. His step-dad had been a bit more distant at first but that quickly went out the window when Theo started asking questions about his work at the hospital, proving he knew a thing or two about said the field of work. Dr. Geyer was delighted to have somebody interested what he had to say and ask smart questions, so he was sold too. And Liam could not help but feel proud at this parents liking his soulmate so much. Something inside him felt whole at this and when he talked to Mason about it, Mason confirmed it. He had the same way when Corey had been accepted into his family. “It means your other half is where it needs to be. With you and your family, and I think that’s amazing, Liam.”  Liam had to agree.
He just wished Theo could feel the same when it came to his own family but that meeting had been a disaster. Liam learned that Theo’s parents were two workaholics, too busy to really focus on their son or anything else than their work. They had sat at the table and the way they handled the dinner made Liam feel like it was just another business meeting. And Theo’s older sister Tara, well, the siblings didn’t get along. She was at college but had been there for the dinner and the two siblings fought the whole time. She called Theo “brat”, he called her “bimbo”, face hardened and eyes dark with anger. His face only softened when Liam put a hand on his leg and gave it a soft squeeze. Theo had turned to him and smiled weakly. So yes, the Raekens weren’t as welcome as his own family but they were part of Theo so Liam accepted them.
Theo himself seemed happy about having found Liam and the colors in his life. Corey and Mason had told Liam Theo’s style had improved since they had become soulmates, now that he could see colors, and according to them he looked even better now than before. Liam had not fully understood what that was supposed to mean but he had nodded along with it, all the while questioning the little twitch he felt in his chest when they mentioned how good looking Theo was. It confused him for a while but then other things came to his mind and he forgot about it.
And the Beacon Hills had a lacrosse game against Devenford Prep. The game itself was fairly unspectacular, it had been just a friendly game, nothing too serious, and afterward, there was a bonfire. Liam and his friends were gathered near the fire, drinking and chatting, having a good time when Liam suddenly felt himself getting pulled back and somebody kissed his cheek.
“Good game tonight, Dunbar.” Brett called out and Liam beamed at his ex-boyfriend-now turned friend. Elias, Brett’s soulmate and boyfriend, offered Liam an honest smile and Liam returned it warmly. They both knew no matter how affectionate Brett still was with Liam, Liam was no danger to what Brett and Elias had. And, Liam had said it from the start, they were a great couple. So Elias was okay with the hugs, lose headlocks and sometimes cheek kisses the ex-couple shared.
Brett now greeted the rest of the group until his eyes fell on Theo. He grinned. “And who are you?” He inquired, casually grabbing Liam’s shoulder to teasingly squeeze it, something he always had done. He liked to touch Liam and Liam didn’t mind. But he could have sworn he saw Theo’s eyes narrowing at the contact before he stepped closer to Liam. “I’m Theo, Liam’s soulmate.” He introduced himself and Brett laughed. “What? Congratulations, Li, that’s awesome!”
But Liam was more focused on Theo’s reaction than on Brett’s words. Theo’s eyes had narrowed once more at the nickname and his whole posture was stiff, jaw clenched. He had been carefree before but then Brett and Elias showed up and that’s when his behavior had started to change. Oh shit! Now that he thought about it, it made sense. Elias knew Liam and Brett were like this around each other but Theo didn’t. Holy shit, his soulmate was jealous which was deeply confusing because they weren’t even dating. To test his theory, he turned to Brett and smirked at him while putting one hand on the taller boy’s chest.  “Awesome, right? Who would have thought, huh?” Side-eying Theo Liam wasn’t disappointed, Theo’s jaw clenched even more at the touch and before he could lash out, Liam dropped his hand and took a step back from Brett.  His ex was still grinning from ear to ear. “I want the whole story.” He demanded but then somebody else called his and Elias’ name and he pointed at Liam. “Later on. Text me.” He called out and walked over to the other guy. Liam watched them walk away before he grabbed Theo’s hand.  “Can I talk to you for a second?”
Before Theo could even answer, Liam pulled him away from their group of friends and into a quieter corner.  “The hell was that?” He asked then, brows furrowing. “What was what?” Theo played it off and Liam’s frowned deepened.  “I saw the way you tensed and glared at Brett. Were you jealous? I mean, I know you were, but why?” It made something inside him flutter like his heart had gotten too much coffee or something. What was going on? Theo looked away from Liam, jaw working until he finally found the right answer. “Well, what’s between Brett and you?” He questioned and looked back at Liam. “We’re friends.” Theo gave him a look that spoke volumes and Liam sighed. “We have been dating before he found Elias, his soulmate.” “So he’s your ex.” Theo stated and Liam nodded with a shrug. “Yep.” He still didn’t get the big deal but it seemed like Theo wouldn’t fill him in on that either. He was about to ball his hands in fists thanks to his frustration when he noticed something. They were holding hands.
The whole time, since Liam took Theo’s hand to pull him away, they had been holding hands and Theo had not tried to break it once. Liam stared at their hands and he swallowed. Theo seemed to notice something was going on because he frowned now. “You okay?” Liam tore his eyes away from their hands in order to look at his soulmate. “You...We are...” Taking a deep breath to focus on one thing, he tried again. “Why were you jealous? Bret and me, that’s history. He’s happy with Elias.” Theo shrugged and looked sheepishly at that, “Can’t a guy get jealous just because?” “No.” Liam said but no matter how much he wanted to find out what had gotten into Theo, he also didn’t want to start any drama either. For now, he would let it slide. “Doesn’t matter, let’s continue to enjoy the party, shall we?” Theo nodded, lips forming into a small smile which Liam returned.
He took a few steps forward to walk back to their group, pulling Theo along (they still were holding hands despite them both acknowledging it but it seemed like Liam’s brain didn’t want to give the command to let go just yet) when another person stepped in Liam’s path. The two of them collided and Liam felt ice cold beer splash over the front of his shirt. It came that suddenly, Liam let out a loud gasp and stumbled back.
“Shit, I’m sorry...Oh, it’s you!” Liam looked up from his ruined shirt and stared at the other person. Tobias, a former class member of Liam at Devenford Prep and one of the guys Liam mostly got in fights with, glared at Liam. He was taller than Liam but that had never stopped Liam. Both disliked each other quite fiercely and even now Liam felt tense.
“Tobias, what are you doing here? You’re not even on the lacrosse team.” Tobias glared harder. “So? I still can attend a game of my school right? You know what part I liked the most? When you were tackled to the ground.” He laughed mockingly and Liam growled.  “Listen, I don’t want any fight tonight. This is a party!” He gritted out. “Oh, Liam, did they teach you that in anger management? That’s cute, really.”  Liam growled again, letting go of Theo’s hand to ball his hands into fists this time. He tried to keep his condition in check but his anger was rising and Tobias knew that given how taunting his smile was. “What, Liam? Pulse’s rising? Are you getting angry? Want to break some more bones than you already have?”
“Asshole!” Liam spat and made a step forward. If Tobias wanted to fight, he would not back down. He gripped Tobias by the collar of his shirt and raised his fist, ready to punch, when a strong grip around his wrist made it impossible to move. He was yanked back and Theo stepped between them, facing Liam. He kept his grip on Liam’s wrist and used it to pull Liam close to himself.
“Let it go, he’s really not worth it.”He muttered so only Liam could hear it. Liam growled in return. “He deserves it!” He spat and Theo shook his head before taking control and dragging Liam away from Tobias, effectively stopping Liam from doing something he would regret later on. Doesn’t mean Liam was happy about it and struggled against the grip. “Let go!” He demanded loudly and Theo only let him go when they were far away enough from the fire. “What’s up with you?” He asked, making Liam face him. Liam just huffed, too angry to actually voice his thoughts or explain himself. “He’s a freaking asshole!” He said instead, extending his arm to point towards the fire. Theo reached out and grabbed both of his wrists, softer this time, “Hey, Liam, look at me and take some deep breaths, okay? You’re completely riled up, you need to calm down.” He uttered slowly and despite Liam being angry he felt himself following Theo’s instructions. What was with Theo and his way to keep him calm?
But with calming down came also the realization of what happened and with that came the shame. Liam pulled away from Theo and hid his face in his hands. “Fuck, I’m so sorry.” “About what?” Theo asked him, voice still soft and so caring. Something Liam didn't really deserved. “I snapped. This is not how I wanted you to see me. Like ever.” He tried to find the right words and failed in the end. “I never wanted you to see me when my condition breaks through.” Theo frowned. “Your condition?” “I suffer from IED.” Liam admitted, still so ashamed he couldn’t look into Theo’s eyes. “And I’m sorry.” He muttered.  “What are you sorry about?”  “That you have a soulmate who is obviously broken. You deserve someone who doesn’t lose his cool at any given moment.”
Theo was silent for a moment then he put his fingers under Liam’s chin and made him look up. “Liam, listen to me. You are not broken and you don’t have to be ashamed. It’s okay. You’re obviously working on it.” He tried a supportive smile. “And I would like to help you with it. You are my soulmate, we’re in this together, okay? Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, would change how I think about you, okay?” Liam listened to what Theo said and the swallowed around the lump in his throat. He had the perfect soulmate, someone who truly got him. He hesitantly smiled back, prompting Theo to stroke over his cheek softly. “Thanks for keeping me from punching Tobias.” Theo chuckled. “That’s my job. Though I have a feeling he would have deserved it.” Liam snorted. “He would have but still, thanks for stopping me. You’re good at that, you know? Keeping me calm. Like you were born for this job.” “Maybe I was. I am your soulmate after all. And, Liam, you are so perfect, you deserve someone to take care of you.”
The looked at each other for a few moments and Liam finally cleared his throat. “Theo?” “Hm?”  “When did we move so close together?”
It was true, they were chest to chest and their faces only inches apart and they had not even noticed it until now. And now that they did, it was hard to ignore how close they were pressed together. Theo’s eyes fell on Liam’s lips and Liam unconsciously licked them.
“Well....” The older started but was cut off when Liam leaned in and kissed him. It made Theo sigh into the kiss and then his hand was on Liam’s face, fingers caressing his cheek, and Liam shuddered softly. This felt good, right even, and he wondered why he never had thought about doing this sooner. He had been so focused on making their friendship worked that he had ignored how strong his feelings had gotten over time. And now here they were, kissing in the parking lot, slow and soft, and Liam tentatively wrapped his arms around Theo’s neck while the other put his hands on Liam’s waist and pulled him closer. Their kiss slowly got deeper, more sensual and now it was Liam who sighed.
When they pulled away from the kiss to catch their breath, Theo hummed. “I’d like to do this more often.” He confessed and Liam smiled, softly tugging at Theo’s hair. “Me too.” He admitted. “So, want to go back to the party or leave? My parents are out of town.” Theo invited him and Liam gave him a quick kiss. “Sounds promising. Let’s leave.”
He would send Mason a text and let him know he was with Theo. And then he probably would send a second text telling his best friend that his plan of keeping a friendship with his soulmate had not worked out. But that was okay because he now had a great boyfriend by his side. In the end, they would work everything out if they just listened to their hearts. Fate had bound them together for a reason after all.
I dig Thiam and being jealous, sue me. So I had to write this little scene in this story.  Hope you liked all of it.
Working Title: Forward, Back (9/?)
Summary:  Knowing what’s going to happen doesn’t mean Sans can stop it.  Maybe he could’ve put it off forever.  Sans decides to go.
Rating: T
Part Summary: Things get better and they have more visitors.
>>First Part<<
C/N: Mental Illness, Illness
Grillby went home to put the kids to bed and stayed with them overnight, but was back in the morning.   Sans was sure that since he had a little time to prepare, the bar would be open and serving people without their boss.
Undyne ran out right after she arrived.  She wanted to see if she could track down the human, but when she had no luck she was back by midnight.  Sans had been almost nodding off for hours by that point--his head falling down to his chest and then suddenly being struck by the need to check on Papyrus' HP.  Once he gave up on his nap, the three of them played cards until Grillby arrived with breakfast.
The doctor prepped a cure-all, but luckily they didn't have to use it. Those had some bad side effects.  Exactly twenty-four hours after Papyrus got hit by that strange weapon, his HP stopped dropping.  He cringed, automatically, waiting for the brief stab of pain that came along with every tiny health hit, but nothing happened.
They wouldn't let Papyrus run right out the door like he wanted.  Sans did his best to keep his brother entertained with great jokes while they waited, but that just seemed to make him want to leave even more.
Half the town came in to visit Papyrus while they waited.  Sans figured that was one positive in a situation full of negatives - Papyrus had to know that the people there cared about him.  It wasn't exactly a cure-all for his brother's lingering insecurity, but it had to help.
Papyrus got to sleep in his own bed that night.  Sans told him and the kids a bedtime story and watched them doze off in a little pile on Papyrus' bed.  Grillby carried Angel back to their bedroom and Sans decided to let Soozen keep sleeping where she was.
His own bed was waiting for him.  He flopped down onto it, face first, and nodded off right there.
He woke again a while later.  Grillby was moving him up near the pillow.
"thanks," Sans mumbled.
Grillby made a quiet noise of acknowledgment.  After a while, Sans heard him moving around their room, getting dressed for bed.
"i'd make a joke about beds," Sans said, "but i haven't made it up yet."
"You have never made a bed in your life," Grillby said.
"slander is what they call that."
He sighed.  "I was worried you'd have trouble sleeping, and then I woke you up."
"sleeping's easy."
"...yes. You can do it with your eye sockets closed.  I know."
"when i have trouble i just remember to sleep right on the edge.  then i drop right off."
That got a laugh out of him.  Sans won.
Grillby climbed right onto the bed next to him.  The room got lighter, even though his eyelids.  Sans finally looked.  Grillby was hovering, flickering with concern.  Sans reached up and patted his face.  "it's ok, pal.  a full night's sleep, i'll be right as..."  Grillby didn't have a high opinion of rain.  "uh, ever."
Grillby nodded and settled down, pulling Sans against his chest.  It was pretty cozy.
Sans wondered if Undyne would track down the weirdo who was sneaking around their town.  The weirdos, maybe.  Would she kill 'em? She wasn't really as into that, anymore, but he could still see her crossing that line if she thought people she cared about were in danger.  Sans wouldn't exactly cry if that happened, but he hoped they could keep Papyrus from finding out.
They'd tell him that whoever they were just got intimidated by Pap's greatness.  That'd work.
Grillby murmured something.  A reassurance, Sans though, even though he couldn't understand it.  His words were quieter than the fire that Sans' head was pressed against.
Grillby had to be pretty upset about what happened, too.  He was making himself feel better by being there for them and taking care of the important little things like finding babysitters and bringing breakfast.  He could be a hot-head, sure, and really get fired up about things.  But he had a warm heart.
Sans snickered to himself.
"...hm?" Grillby asked.
"you've got a really warm heart, grillbz.  i'd say that's your best feature."
"Go to sleep, Sans."
"it's tough when i keep coming up with all these great jokes, but i'll give it a shot."
Grillby shushed him, and Sans eventually settled down.  He was warm all the way through.
--
BANG! BANG!  BANG!  BANG!
Something heavy was slamming against the bedroom door.
"jus' tell 'em to come in an' kill me," Sans said.  "don't make me get up for it."
"...Papyrus, maybe?"  Grillby's voice, when he was half awake, was a puzzle to try and understand.
Sans groaned.
The knob rattled and the door flew open.
"Outta bed, LOSERS!"  Oh, right.  Undyne was visiting.
"nah," Sans said.  He felt Grillby put his arm around him, like he was trying to shield him from the noise.
"This is your morning wake up call!  Up and AT 'EM!"
"why."
"There'll be someone here soon you'll want to see," she said.  "You probably want to put pants on!"
He hadn't bothered to get completely undressed before bed. Boxers were close enough to pants, if people were going to make him wake up early.  "who'zz it?"  He moved Grillby's limp arm off of him.
"Fuhuhuhu!  You think I'm going to ruin the surprise?  Pry that bony butt off the mattress and let's go!"
Grillby suddenly grabbed Sans' arm.  "...don't."
"you don't have to get up," Sans said.  He was pretty sure it was one of Papyrus' friends.
"Ok." He let go and pulled his pillow over his face to keep him from hearing Undyne.  He just gave up on Sans the second he knew he didn't have to wake up, too.  Traitor.
"What'd he say?" she asked.  "Is he getting up?"
"eh, let the fire man sleep in."  Sans dangled his legs over the edge of the bed.  His slippers were there, waiting for him.  "he works nights."
"Oh, right.  Rest up!"
Sans shuffled over to the door.  He heard dishes clanking around in the kitchen.  Papyrus must be getting ready for their visitor.
"I HEARD A CAR PULL UP!"  Papyrus yelled.  Yup, his voice came from the kitchen.
"Yeah!! Let's go greet 'em!"  Undyne ran off.
"THE KITCHEN IS A MESS, UNDYNE.  STALL THEM FOR ME!"
Sans left his bedroom and went out the front door.  He rubbed his eye sockets at the sudden bright morning light.  The car parking in their driveway was one he recognized, immediately.
One of the doors opened and Frisk stepped out.
They were in a dark blue suit - one of the outfits they wore on official business.  Sans read simple determination in their expression as they took a look around.
"hey, kiddo."  Sans held up a hand.  He could see movement in the car. Was there someone else in there?  Wait.
He took a step back through the house door and popped over to the opposite side of the car.  Toriel was inside, about to open up her door and get out.
He was just in time.  He used his magic to lock it.  Toriel jiggled the handle.
"Oh, these hands!"  She huffed and unlocked the door again.
Sans relocked it just before she tried to open it.
This time, she looked out the window.
"hi," Sans said.
"Oh. It is Mr. Funnybones himself, I see."  She laughed, and then looked him over, momentarily alarmed.
"what?" He suddenly realized she wouldn't immediately know he was covered from the waist down from where she was sitting.  "oh.  nah, i'm decent here.  i put my slippers on before i went outside."  He winked.  "so i bet that means i'm more dressed than you."
"It is true."  She unlocked the door and didn't try to open it.  He guessed Tori was trying to trick him.  She'd leave it like that and quick open the door when she thought he wasn't paying attention. "Has Grillby been properly feeding you?  You do not have any meat on your bones!"
They both laughed, impressed with the quality of her joke.
"you know i only married the guy 'cause he's hot, tori."
She snorted.  He watched her slowly reach towards the door handle, and then stop.  She was meeting his eye sockets, and they were both trying very hard not to laugh.  It was a stand off.  She moved her hand and knocked on the glass in front of his face.  Nice strategy. She wanted to startle him while she opened the door with her other hand.
He was ready, but Toriel didn't follow through.  "Oh," she said.  Her expression softened.  "Do you know what this reminds me of?"
He did.  "nah."  He shrugged.  "wait.  i guess i've done this gag a coupla times."
She knocked on the door.  "Knock knock."
"who's there."
"Cargo."
"cargo who?"
"Car go 'beep beep!'"
They both burst out laughing.  Sans' ribs were starting to ache.  He knocked on the door.
"Oh!   Who is there, I wonder?"
They spend the next twenty minutes telling each other knock knock jokes.
Sans' phone rang.  He took it out of his inventory and saw that Frisk was calling him.  He looked up.   Frisk was on the other side of the driveway staring at him, phone at their ear.
"i'd better get this," Sans said.  "seems important."
He answered his phone.  Frisk told him to stop fooling around with their mom and head inside.
"ok. just promise you don't tell grillby i was, uh,  fooling around with your mom."
Toriel laughed, loud, from inside the car.
Frisk gave him a thumbs up.  Toriel opened the door and got out, stretching until her back clicked.
"ok so--" Sans started.
She lifted him up in the air and hugged him, tight.  His slippers fell off his feet and plopped onto the driveway.
"great. now i'm just as undressed as you are," Sans grumbled, into her fur.
"I have missed you, you horrible little gremlin," she said.
"yeah. same back atcha, you old goat."  They used to see each other almost every day.  He'd let himself get too lazy.  He couldn't believe she was here.
She set him back down next to his slippers.  Frisk came over and took her arm, and the three of them went inside.
Oh my god please write a drabble for ssh Oikawa in a dress if you have time it would be amazing
Okay, just a quick drabble! because I can’t resist this promptAlso used @artsytigersol12’s Oikawa dress design as reference because it’s perfect and I’m obsessed with it - hope you don’t mind! (´ ♡ `)ノ
***CLASSIFIED INFORMATION***MISSION FOR: OIKAWA-IWAIZUMI HAJIME& OIKAWA-IWAIZUMI TOORU.LOCATION: GRAND MATSUSHIMA ASSEMBLYHALL, MIYAGI DISTRICT, JAPAN.OBJECTIVE: (1) INFILTRATE THE ROYAL COAST ANNUAL FOUNDATION EVENING AND GATHERINFORMATION REGARDING UNDERGROUND OPIUM MARKET. (2) IDENTIFY THE KEY SUPPLIERS OF THE SMUGGLING RING. (3) UNCOVER METHODS USED FOR SMUGGLINGILLEGAL DRUGS AND SUBSTANCES IN TO COUNTRY.
The night of their mission wasa cool evening.
Iwaizumi stood alone in theentry hall, adjusting his silver cufflinks before he examined himself in themirror. He was dressed to the nines, clad in a dove-grey three piece suit, sharpshoes, and his hair gelled back without a single strand out of place.
Very metrosexual. Not exactlyhis preference of style but it was going to have to do.
Iwaizumi glanced up at hisown reflection and in an instant the dull expression was replaced by acalculated grin. It oozed oily charm, alittle cringey, but perfectly suited forhis cover.
Tonight he was Sanjo Toichi, co-founderof a multi-million oil industry, attending an exclusive event along with someof the largest tycoons and business sharks of the district. Rumours had it thenight was going to involve more than just a fancy dinner and champagne, and hewas hoping to get some scope on the black market deals which were handled underthe surface of this event.
That is, if they were even goingto make it in time.
Iwaizumi checked thelivingroom clock for the fifth time and sighed. “Oikawa, are you done yet? Ifyou’re not out within the next three minutes I’m leaving without you.”
“I’m almost done!” the other’svoice rang from the bedroom. “Just putting some finishing touches.”
The agent rolled his eyes,impatient with himself. “You said that fifteen minutes ago,” he grumbled. “It’syour fault if we don’t get let in.”
“Okay, relax. I’m done, I’mdone.”
Iwaizumi could hear Oikawahastily making his way out, the sound of his footsteps unusually heavy. Finally. He turned to grab the car keys and briefcase containing their missionessentials. “We should’ve already hit the road by now,” he chastised.He peered over his shoulder with a half-hearted frown. “What even took you solong…”
Iwaizumi’s words died down inan instant and he stopped in his track. There was a long drag of silence as hestared, and for a brief moment, he wondered if his eyes were playing tricks onhim.
It wasn’t like Oikawa didn’t looklike himself; the man standing before him was clearly still his husband, butnot quite the face he’d become accustomed to.
Iwaizumi had always said thatOikawa’s lashes were long, but tonight they were heavily accentuated, coated inlayers of dense mascara. The dark, coal-black lashes were so long and thickthey almost brushed his cheeks when he blinked. His eye lids were also colouredwith alluring shades of smokey mocha and black. It was dark and murky, but it onlyseemed to enhance his natural pupil colour.Oikawa’s lips, a soft, gentle pink were now a vibrant red, standing out like abeacon in the dead of night. It was bold but classy and balanced the delicatepink on his cheeks.
This evening, his hair drapeddown to his shoulders. The wig was unnerving realistic the way it looselycurled like his natural hair. Did it feellike the real thing too? Iwaizumi was almost tempted to reach out and touch.But the thought flew out his mind the moment his gaze drifted down.
Everything adorning Oikawa’sbody was new, and nothing he could’ve possibly ever imagined.
The dark midnight dresssculpted Oikawa’s curves unlike anything he usually wore. It was tight. Tootight. Just looking at it punched the air out of Iwaizumi’s lungs. The whole was held up by two scandalously flimsy straps which were tied neatlybehind his neck. Honestly, all it would take was a simply tug and the entire thing wouldslip from his body.
Oikawa seemed taller thanusual, and Iwaizumi discovered why when he glanced down at his feet. Thestilettos were dangerously high, the colour perfectly matching the dress. And whenOikawa shifted his weight, the movement showed off his well-toned legs and damn,if that wasn’t the gateway to a whole new kink he didn’t know he had withinhim.
Iwaizumi felt himself breakin to a sweat and he swallowed dryly. He just couldn’t take his eyesoff the other.
Oikawa smiled at his dumbfoundedreaction, smokey eyes twinkling with dangerous mischief. He placed a hand on hiship and flashed alittle more leg. “So?” he asked cheekily. “What do you think-”
“Get changed.”
Oikawa’s smile wasimmediately replaced with a look of confusion. “Wh-”
“Go.” Iwaizumi waved him backtoward their bedroom. “Right now.”
“What! Why?”
“Oikawa, you are not going out looking like that. I can’t believe you-” Iwaizumi felt his cheeks flush and hecovered his eyes. “God, why’s it ripped on the side?”
Oikawa blinked incredulously,peered down at his dress, then laughed. “Iwa-chan, it’s a thigh slit! It’s meantto look like that.”
“Tooru, you’re wearing half adress. Seriously just- you can’t wear that.”
“Wait, wait! But you haven’t seenthe best part!” Oikawa insisted. “Check this out.” Much to Iwaizumi’s great alarm, he began to expose his legs more and more as he pulledback his dress… only to reveal a gartered knife securely strapped to his thigh.The other looked up at him for approval.
“Eh? Neat, huh?” Oikawa beamedproudly. “Easy access!”
“Easy acc-“ Iwaizumi spluttered madly. “Oh god Oikawa, don’t ever say that again.” He covered hisface, mortified. His heart was palpating madly, eyes and cheeks burning. “Whothought it would be a good idea to put you in that?!”
“The girls picked it out forme.” When Oikawa turned, it revealed an open back; the dress draped low on hiships, baring the sleek fluid line of his back. He examined himself in themirror thoughtfully. “I thought it looked good on me.”
Iwaizumi felt his ears burn. Hedidn’t know where to hide his face in such an embarrassing situation. “I don’twant you going out like that,” he said honestly. “Is there anything else youcan wear?”
Oikawa laughed again, though this time it sounded alittle offended. “Uhh, no, Iwa-chan, I’m afraid dresses aren’t reallypart of my wardrobe.”
Thank god. “Thenhow about some pants? You’ve got those nice trousers, the grey ones.”
“What? No! Iwa-chan, it’s goingto a formal event. It’ll look strange if we both show up in suits.”
“Well you’re sure as hell notgoing to avert any attention with that.”Iwaizumi could barely even look without blushing furiously. “Everyone’s goingto stare.”
“Okay, you know that? That’sjust hypocritical.” Oikawa smile was replaced with a haughty frown, and heplaced his hands on his hips. “You’re the one who said you didn’t want to takethe female role! And since when were you so nitpicky about what I wear?”
“Because-!” Iwaizumi bit backhis tongue, forcing his eyes away from the way the dress clung so snuglyagainst the other’s hips. “Oikawa, at least grab a jacket or something.”
“But it’s going to be ahassle to carry.”
“For god sakes-” Iwaizumirushed over, hastily tearing off his own blazer and wrapped it over the other. “Takemine. Just- please. That dress.. it’s… it’s not practical.”
The excuse sounded patheticeven to his own ears and he hoped Oikawa wouldn’t notice the way his fingers lightly trembled as they brushed his bare shoulders.
His partner didn’t seem to notice, far too riled up to care. “Okay, okay, fine! I’ll wear the jacket,jees.” Oikawa yanked it on impatiently, clearly displeased with the whole situation.
He sulked at his own reflection in the mirror, then spun around to shoot Iwaizumi an indignantglare, his lower lip jutted in petulant defiance. “You know, I get the outfit’snot your thing and this is just another job to you, but it wouldn’t kill to shoot a compliment once in a while. It took me ages to get ready.”
Before Iwaizumi couldrespond, he huffed and stormed out the house, flashing the other withendless legs adorned in those sinful stilettos.
He was done, a goner.
The agent dropped tohis haunches, covering his flushed face with both hands. “Oh god.”
It was going to be a longnight.
