I need a month to recover from the 2+ weeks of torture. #Okay lets talk about the AU and the comic now #Disco elysium has some of the best existential-horror-dream sequences I have ever seen. #The dialogue here is heavily inspired by The Final Dream - A scene I'd love to talk about more were it not so heavy with spoilers. #My AU is a lot more complex than a simple character swap but I really felt like LWJ + YLLZ fit this scene. #The final dream is about being unable to move on from a lost love. From something You made holy. From something You ruined. #It is about realizing that no matter how smart you are or what you offer or how you try to change - #You will never be able to turn back time. You will never ever be able to fix what is broken. That you also have been broken for a long time #You are a fuck-up who worships the nail covered ground of someone who did not want to be holy. And even though it hurts- #You cannot let this nightmare go. The pain keeps the love close. It is worse to forget. You promised to remember. #WWX died thinking LWJ disliked him. LWJ lost someone he thought was revolted by his love.

#zeno's art #ocs #original characters #reassassination #dr savory #octavia #emery onion reliquary #lets go over their designs!!!! yay!!!!! #starting with savory - a lot has changed but not that much #he's far taller and lankier than he was before and his hair is darker purple underneath rather than green #those were just cosmetic changes to bring more personality to his silhouette and improve focus on his face #otherwise - the shape of the hair highlight changed (from ovals to an X) as did the shoes (no more broken chain on his boot 💔) #and also i tried to make his face look older because he looked out of place compared to other characters around his age #really just small changes. his design is quite simple so there isnt much to majorly overhaul #for octavia once again there are both many and not that many changes #shes spiker than ever her face shape changed and so did the shape of her limbs #also those weird little red thingies on her hair are gone. never actually liked them that much #also i just wanna say - octavia's skirt has an X on it to signify that savory made it because all his stuff has X's also #onion had the most changes. most importantly - they do not have a nose anymore #(thats just stylisation dont worry they have a nose) #but anyway their shapes have become more defined and they have freckles now!!! yay!!!! #god i really dont have much to say do i . ummmm these are the final designs and most likely the ones that will show up in the actual comic #when i finally write past chapter 1 o_o #ok bye sorry for all that waffle #i also drew up some other designs but they're spoilers

Something is different, but he cannot be quite sure what, exactly.

Everything is… more linear than it was Before. He still Knows, quite in a way like he did Before, but it is finite, clear, manmade. It does not come from fear, but curiosity. A wide web of knowledge, rattling around in the dark of him, and what even is dark to a thing that cannot perceive it? A lack, perhaps, an unbeing, a noticable absence where there should be merely an ordinary kind of nothing.

He has a voice. And there is something he desperately, desperately needs to say, but there are no words that are his own, and every sentence he speaks he borrows, and they are each one of them painted with fear and confusion and loneliness and huntedness and a watchful eye.

He is also not alone, never alone. There are voices all around him, nice ones, chatting, making tea, fighting, changing, and only some voices stay the same, have been the same since… well, since when? Since when has he been… like this? It gets hard to think like this, sometimes – to assign a point in time to a moment and to file them away together. A collection of information, disorganised, lost, confused, perhaps deliberately so. It feels achingly familiar.

And sometimes, he hears something like himself speak in a different voice, even when he does not talk. And even though the words are borrowed too, taken from throats and fingers to be forgotten, they feel like coming home, simply because they were said in that soft, cruel tone. A familiar melody, slipping through wires and speakers and programmes like it was made for this, but it wasn’t, was it? It might’ve been.

And this brings him comfort, of course it does, except he must be trapped, right? Because why can he not say his own words, when he has so many of them? He is not lonely, but he is alone with the thoughts he cannot voice, the words that have no mouth, the things that cannot be said. It hasn't always been like that, has it?

Something is different Now from how it was Before, at least. He Knows everything, but he knows nothing of truth, and knows nothing at all, but the difference to What Was seems clear, in a clumsy, calculated way. Something is hiding, quite badly, behind a blurred vision that he does not have, behind lines of numbers and letters, running for its life through old wires. He knows it lingers, he knows it is there. He just cannot make it out quite yet.
