#spoilers: its Lotor

Note
I believe you and many others have misinterpreted Chloé’s role in the show. She was never meant to be sympathetic, tragic or comedic. She is a hate sink (like that Cecil character you wrote). Her whole existence is to be hated, both in universe and out. Not redeemable, nor something to laugh at, but purely to be hated.
You know what? I've been trying to avoid saying it, but for the sake of this answer, I'm going to allude to spoilers for Season 5 via what was recently found in the scripts. So, if you don't want to be exposed to that, please don't read more.
See, I get you, but they didn't do a good job at actually establishing that. It's true that there was no hard evidence to Chloe having a hidden heart of gold, just that she's more sensitive than she lets on. That said, with the way everything was written, her role as a hate sink was shoddily done at best and actively harmful at worst. I've had the misfortune of reading some of the leaked stuff for Season 5 and it leans more and more into being outright harmful, giving some awful lessons about troubled youth and how they should be handled. It's true that it "cements" Chloe as a hate sink, but it does it by bringing up an event that had zero foreshadowing in the show up to this point and felt like it was only there to tell everyone "SEE?! CHLOE'S THE BAD GUY! SHE'S ALWAYS THE BAD GUY! SHE'S A MONSTER! NOW STOP THINKING SHE WAS EVER GOOD AND STOP LIKING HER!" It's on par with Lotor and the Colony Arc from Voltron Legendary Defender in its execution, possibly even worse than it, and with how it ruined more characters as well as some relationships in retrospect (Not just referring to relationships for Chloe, mind you), I refuse to acknowledge it as canon.
Again, I know you have problems with Chloe and I get that the intent for Chloe was that she was meant to be a hate sink, but when the intent is wrought with awful execution and also includes some horrible implications concerning not only Chloe, but a bunch of the other characters, I don't feel obligated to respect that intent. Season 5 brought up a deluge of horrible decisions made for most of the characters. Chloe is just one of them. At this point, with the show becoming so toxic that most of the characters don't feel like themselves anymore, I refuse to call it canon and I believe you should do the same if you actually respect any of the characters. In any case, you're not gonna change my mind on Chloe nor am I gonna change my writing for her just to suit some arbitrary rule for the fandom. I'm already putting her through the Karmic Wringer anyways, so I don't see why you're complaining. Please stop trying to make me hate characters you do. To cap this off, let me repost this:
Tumblr media
Oh, and before you make any assumptions, none of this is me saying that Marinette deserved any of the bullying. Just because I don't hate a bully character doesn't mean I think that the people they bullied deserved it. That's just idiotic. I care about Marinette, quite a lot actually, and I hate what Season 5 ends up doing to her in regards to her character.

So... “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is a bop, right?
It’s firmly supplanted “Let It Go” as Disney’s latest ear-worm until the next one comes along but it’s more than just a catchy ballard. It spells out how the Family Madrigal view him as a blight on their family name, especially when they’ve been a pillar of their community.
It also describes how rather than dealing with his problem and maybe helping him through it, they opted to just let him retreat into his room never to be seen again. Better to sweep it under the rug. However, this also proves to be a root in while the house is coming undone.
The message is clear: a family can’t stay as one so long as they can’t talk about their problems with each other. It’s why Mirabel doesn’t get a gift so she can be the outsider looking in.
Where is this going? Well... somebody just finished Voltron: Legendary Defender... and enjoyed it.
Here me out before you scroll away.
I had finished up to Season 7 along with Teen Titans three days before Season 8 dropped. I knew that fandom discourse would be a bear and opted to let the season simmer before I viewed it for myself a few Watch Lists down the road.
What I couldn’t have known was this overwhelming hate for Season 8. I was on Twitter where handles were being altered to include #FuckVoltron and the like. I glimpsed spoilers of what happened in the finale without getting into the dirty details.
Thus I decided to put it off until the heat died down. A whole half decade at that. With Fandom Drama down to near non-existent, I decided to return and engage with Voltron on its own terms from the start. No shipping drama, no expectations for how it should go, no accusations of problematic behavior and no Purple Lion conspiracies.
And... I liked it. I highly encourage those scared off by the drama or felt Season 8 did it dirty to give it a(nother) shot. It deserves a full on renaissance the way Twilight got.
Why? (spoilers ahead).
I was sold on Allura and Lance’s relationship. I loved how he went from being a flirt to genuinely admiring Allura as a leader and Paladin, encouraging her in the season 4 finale without trying to get anything out of it.
I liked the tonal shift around Season 7 where the ultimate Golion homage is made with the Space Explorers coming home to a war ravaged Earth.
I liked how human Lotor and Honerva were as villains coming after Zarkon. I can see why there’s a whole ass conspiracy framed around him actually being in Season 8. Also them taking that “Your mother was an Altean bitch” like and running with it for Hagger was brilliant.
Keith becoming the Black Paladin after Kuron’s reveal was well done and felt weirdly natural in retrospect. He feels like he can’t measure up to Shiro and learns more discipline from
Allura sacrificing herself to restore all realities felt a lot better with the knowledge of spoilers. It helps that the ending went with a more noble feel than angsty, showing how the Paladins strove make sure that her actions set an example for years to come.
I love that they got creative with the multiple alien species and kept the Alteans from being just humans in space like in the original. It really took inspiration from Vehicle Voltron with more aliens in the mix.
Shiro the Hero, as Crazy Coran put it. What can I say except that he’s the kind of character you call a Mary Sue if he wasn’t a guy. Always calm, always perservering, putting the mission first and being a pillar the team can lean on. He even creates his own Voltron out of the Atlas
Honestly, the whole Adam thing isn’t something I fully blame the writers given the producers pushing back. Mind you, I feel like Keith would’ve made a good endgame pairing with him if they had even out their ages when they first meet, both as teenage proteges.
Studio Mir was amazing, especially with the space battles. Honestly, if Robotech managed to make a comeback, I could totally see them being tapped to match the classic Anime style.
So... yeah. Voltron good actually.

Hiiii flower! This has beeen eating me alive and I just have to ask because I think I’m going crazy is there a post about lotor having a past lover/love interest?I swear I saw one but I can’t find it and im thinking I’m fixated so much on little blade that im actually dreaming/imagining about them🤭
IF he did have a lover what happened to them? And is that character going to be in little blade
Also how would keith reaction be if lotor had or has a lover and he still falls in love with lotor how would keith react to realizing that he fell in love with someone that already has a partner or has had a love interest in the past?
ALSO is that (possibly fake/real) love interest the reason that lotor doesn’t get involved with other people? And since I know it’s mentioned that he doesn’t get involved with them because of Haggar does that mean that Haggar has done something to this person(Ex, past possibly still in love partner, past dead partner?)
Sorry I know that most of these questions can’t be answered but im still curious and I been thinking if its just my imagination making these post up😭.
Also have to know (not related to my last questions) if Keith would to have met sane Zarkon and Haggar and lotor would have been born in the future around Keith’s birth time also if they would have been lovers with the original story line straying from canon then would Haggar and zarkon approve of Keith?
Jesus I’m very very sorry for all these questions I been reading your older posts and honestly it’s been piling more theories and questions and since summer is up and school is back up again and me not putting attention in class I been thinking more and more about little blade it’s ok if you don’t answer bye flower have a good day/night/afternoon♥️💜
I cannot express how relieved I was when you acknowledged that I can't answer most of these questions, because when someone's so clearly enthusiastic and I have to be like "irrespective of whether I confirm or deny this, it's still going to be a spoiler" I always feel so mean 😭
As for whether there's a post explicitly delving into Lotor's romantic past, though it's entirely possible that I've let the odd tidbit slip here and there, I believe I've been rather particular in avoiding addressing that topic in full; I do have thoughts on said romantic history, naturally—Keith's too, as a matter of fact—but that is something for which you shall have to be patient and wait for the story-proper to take its course.
Keith, I think, would be more surprised if he were to learn that Lotor //hadn't// a romantic past than had, I mean... he's a literal prince and looks like that?? The only thing he's reasonably certain of is that, regardless of whether there was/wasn't someone like that in Lotor's life at some point, there isn't anyone anymore, for the simple fact that Lotor's arrival on Voltron's doorstep seemed quite obviously the move of a man with nowhere left to turn.
Your last question is one I actually can answer, or rather, I've already done so! Both for uncorrupted Zarkon, and also as the man he was before the rift ♡

We need to talk about X-Men '97!
October 31st, 1992, saw the release of the iconic X-Men animated series. It quickly gained praise and viewership from its audience. For years, it has been regarded as one of the most high-quality animated adaptations.
This year, the X-Men Animated Series finally gains a sequel; X-Men '97. The next chapter in Marvel's Uncanny Mutants is only halfway through its season. Its journey is only just beginning, and it has already gained praise from critics.
Welcome to the House of Milesverse. Today, we will be talking about X-Men '97, and its growing impact. I hope you enjoy the read and remember to (SNIKT) leave a comment or suggestion, bub.
WARNING. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.
'97's story:
Tumblr media
Unsurprising to anyone, '97 picks up a year after the events of the last episode. With Charles Xavier gone, Cyclops has taken full reins over the team. The X-Men are facing off against new and dangerous challenges.
'97 has a timeless vibe to its story, almost as if you never left. These are still the same characters as they were before. The X-Men's lore and story within the animated continuity have not changed.
Much like its predecessor, '97 also provides some interesting adaptations. For an example, look no further than Madelyne Pryor, the clone of Jean Grey. In just one episode, the series condensed the events of her story.
Another good example is their destruction of Genosha. Watching it play out on the screen was such a shocker. Its destruction was carried out by Cassandra Nova in the comics. Interestingly enough, she's completely absent from the series, with this being a conspiracy done by Bolivar Trask.
The X-Men have been missed.
Tumblr media
Dear X-Men, we have missed you.
X-Men's animated series is in line with other serious, action-heavy stories from that time. Their story focuses on the message of hate, and the real-world issues it can relate to. The persecution that mutants feel has often been used to represent various minority groups across history.
In addition, the original series combined that with beautifully made animation. The action scenes have been well-remembered by fans for years. The animated series has become such a beloved part of the animated media circle within comic books. For anyone who's a fan of our merry mutants, they definitely have spent some time with this show.
97 has proven to be a perfect follow-up by many fans. In just two episodes, 97 was able to impress the audience. It's following in the footsteps of its predecessor. X-Men 97's acclaim and interest can only rise, especially thanks to it's renewal.
What's so different?
Tumblr media
These may be the same mutants you have met, but their voices are not. Some of the actors, such as Norm Spencer (the original voice for Cyclops) unfortunately passed away over the years. Others have been recast to play different characters.
Here are what I feel are the most notable additions:
Cyclops is now voiced by Ray Chase, well known for being the voice of numerous characters such as Noctis Lucis Caelum (FF15), Bruno Bucciarati (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure), Tengen Uzui (Demon Slayer), Roy (Fire Emblem), and the Master of Masters (Kingdom Hearts)
Jean Grey (and Madelyne Pryor) is now voiced by Jennifer Hale, well known for being the voice of Commander Shepherd (Mass Effect), Princess Morbucks (Powerpuff Girls), and one of the Hex Girls, Thorn (Scooby-Doo). It's also worth noting that Jennifer Hale reprises the role, as she initially had it during Wolverine and the X-Men.
Gambit is an interesting case, as his prior voice actor, Chris Potter, is now playing Cable. He's instead voiced by A.J. LoCascio, who does voice work for both Prince Lotor (Voltron: Legendary Defender) and Marty McFly (Back To The Future: The Game).
Speaking of? Cable is voiced by Chris Potter now, whose done work as Peter Caine (Kung-Fu: The Legend Continues), and Evan Owen (The Young and The Restless).
Cable's old voice actor was Lawrence Bayne, but he was replaced by Chris Potter. Ironically enough, Lawrence Bayne plays a new character who debuts in the same episode as Cable's birth, The X-Cutioner. Lawrence Bayne is known as the voice of Gill (Street Fighter III: Third Strike) and Raven (Gargoyles).
Lastly? Jubilee's old voice actress, Alyson Court, wanted someone of Asian descent to portray her. That is where Holly Chou comes in, acting as the new voice of Jubilee. She did the voice work for Akame (Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name). It is also worth noting that Alyson Court acted as the voice of an older Jubilee in an episode, named Abscissa.
As you can see, a lot has changed with the voice cast of the X-Men series. Some characters who were voiced by older actors had been replaced. Others, like Cal Dodd (The voice of Wolverine) and Alison-Sealy Smith (The voice of Storm) still reprise their iconic roles.
While much has changed? At the end of the day, these new actors all still portray the spirit of the character. Ray Chase for example makes for a standout, with how closely he sounds to Norm Spencer's Cyclops.
What to look forward to & Conclusion
Tumblr media
X-Men '97 is heating up, and we are already almost at the end. If you haven't checked it out yet, then I recommend it. The series is short, but its episodes all have a distinct impact and role. They not only move the plot forward but also help the characters to grow.
My hope is that Superhero Animation swings back into full gear. I remember as a kid it felt like it was practically already there. From the 90s to the 2000s, you could not miss it. The DC Animated Universe, for example, stands out as one of the best superhero animation projects. An entire generation grew up on those stories, and those adventures.
X-Men shows that its importance and value to people matters. Much like the DCAU, it raised so many children and was their first introduction to the X-Men. It stands out as one of the most iconic superhero action cartoons ever, and frankly? It's earned its title.
I think the future of superhero animation is steadily climbing back up. We have had great animated series, such as Invincible, Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur, My Adventures with Superman, and now? X-Men '97.
This has been a wonderful episode of House of MilesVerse. I hope you join us for a deep dive into our favorite robots in disguise. I'll be doing a full review of Transformers: Earthspark.
And? If you didn't know it, then now you know. We'll chronicle some adventures of Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur.

Royal greetings!
There's a endless number of other realities and s/o had the brilliant question if there's a reality where I end up together with Sendak/Prorok/Kolivan!
-> Post they're referring to
-> the question
And last but not least:
LYRA
But at first, since its canon in my Story, heres a SPOILER WARNING
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isn't she the cutest??
Look at her ears, her nose, her eyes... she's adorable!
She has great manners
Scared that people would leave her
Kolivan is her father
She looks a lot like her father, and it's fucking cute
Kolivan is the proudest dad in the entire universe and spoils her ROTTEN. (No matter what she wants, she'll get it. Like Lya.)
Was BORN with a wisdom mark (as the first veluryan child ever)
People have high expectations of her since her parents did essential work in the war, but she was born with only one ability. (That's a bit of a shame for a veluryan)
But Lya couldn't be happier because having more skills than her mother back then ended up hating each other, also she would always protect her daughter
"Remember my dearest child... I made this world safe so you could grow up carefree and happy. have no fear. mom and dad are always there. You are not alone, never. They are all there."
Lyra thinks she'll never be good enough to follow in her mother's footsteps
It was the first time that Lyra saw her mother crying and having a mental breakdown when she told her exactly that. Not even Kolivan could stop her tears, as Lyas trauma came up again
What Lya said to Kolivan, still pregnant after having a deep conversation with him about her relationship with her mother: "If my child ever tells me that they hate themselves, think that they're ugly or that they're not good enough... then i've failed as a mother. then I'm no better than my mother, who kept beating me up about it. ...I'm scared, Kolivan."
"You're ALWAYS enough, Lyra. You hear me!? Always... You don't have to prove anything, you understand?! You're my loved daughter. My oldest and only child. I've tried EVERYTHING to be the opposite of my own mother because I love you. Mommy loves you, Lyra! I need you! You're enough! Please... I'm BEGGIN you don't say such things ever again... please..."
Little did she know:
she actually saved her mother's life in the war.
at the end of the fight, Lya tried to revive everyone who died in the final fight against Honerva. Even Allura. But her powers were not strong enough to do so, in the act of reviving all she lost her mind and traveled into the in-between where she was able to speak to the God who gave her that power.
They made a deal that every person gets their life back and that Velurya exists again, but Lya has to sacrifice herself.
She didn't even hesitate. it was her goal from the very beginning, and everything was planned to be prepared for this moment. It'd be her final mission, a mission with pride and honor.
this is what she was born, raised, and trained for. everything to one day be able to give her life back to her ancestors. she smiled with a pure heart for the first time at that moment because she felt that she could give something back to her father.
Oh, but there was a plot:
Veluryan blood ran twice through her veins, and she suddenly woke up in a bed with bandages around her body.
She survived.
Lya soon knew what was going on and was a little bit embarrassed, tho. She didn't think of the "consequences" if she's gonna live
She knew that she'd die from the very beginning. She also knew when she'd give her life to others, and when Shiro announced the last day before the last fight Lya wanted to spend time with her family.
But Lotor was still unconscious (Lya revived him), and Stella went partying with her friends (she never ever thought that there's even a chance to lose the war, so she didn't worry and celebrated. Lya wasn't sad about it, she was happy that Stella had fun. ...ok, she was a little sad about it.)
So Lya decided to make her last night on earth and being alive something special.
She and Kolivan had been together for two deca-phoebes (the time they started being closer is when Lya stayed at the BoM and Voltron disappeared for 3 deca-phoebes) and Kolivan fell in love with her. He wanted to court her properly and was waiting for Lotor to wake up to ask him for his permission. But Lya had a different plan.
she would have liked to do it according to the traditions of her religion, but since it was her last night, she wanted to show Kolivan how much she loved him as she was never really good with words.
...and that resulted in Lyra.
Lya never wanted to have kids. She saw herself more like a rich auntie and only waited for the day when Stella would expect a baby.
The deep fear inside her of becoming like her cruel mother had always put her off. In addition, pregnancy was associated with a lot of pain (you can find out more about the pregnancy of a Velurian woman here)
But now she was pregnant herself.
She understood that this child saved not only her but all lives, and so she decided to carry this child. It was a matter of pride.
She's going to be a mother, no matter what Kolivan would say.
he was so happy about the news and began to cry. He was overwhelmed by everything: winning the war, having freedom for the first time in his life, and finding the love of his life. And now his bloodline wouldn't end.
So Lyra was never planned, but that doesn't mean that she isn't loved by her parents. That's a message to all of you: you're loved and needed.
(And Lya never regretted her decision to give this little life in her body a chance)
Thank you and stay tuned darlings
- Fürstin Lya

my review on what ive seen on netflix, having never had it before
so far on the completed netflix list i have: race to the edge, tales of arcadia, daniel spellbound, voltron, ninjago
spoiler warning
race to the edge: Growing up with httyd, i was bound to fall in love with it. ive only seen clips on youtube and im still pissed that they killed grimborne. dagur is still my favourite and snotlout still for no reason makes me mildly angry, for no reason. (riders of berk is slowly being bought. i got most of the two seasons. just need part two of s1 i think)
tales of arcadia: Holy shit. i love this. the only one i couldnt connect with really was 3below, wasnt too keen on the first few episodes, but it quickly picked up. trollhunters is still the best, wizards is amazing, rise of the titans could have done without steves sublot. if you know...well. you know :/ (will be getting the books using any christmas money one gets)
daniel spellbound: was a bit hard to get into at first. the pie witch was....mmm. no. but after that it was fucking amazing. currently in the midst of getting fanfiction outta my system for this one. daniel and the sea queen absolutely have the, oh fuck. ive adopted a child that thrives on adrenaline, better give him a fucking weapon energy and i fully intend to use that.
voltron: everything was going smoothly, until season 8 attacked. what the absolute fuckery was that shit. anyways. rewatching cause its been years and i miss lotor.
ninjago: having grown up with it and keeping up to date, i was sad to see it end. but am happy with the 'reboot' netflix is doing. the budget clearly shows and it looks so stunning. cant wait to buy this months ninjago magazines.
going to finnish up kipo and the wonderbeasts, lego dreamzzzz (started buying the magazines), sweet tooth will happen soon. watching umbrella acadamey, stranger things and breaking bad with the family once we get our shit together and have some time to do so. (im paying for the netflix and i intend to let them use it as i do like disney from my mums account :P)
any suggestions

wowie i just finished watching voltron and it was just kinda meh for me? idk if it was just the hate from everyone already making me biased but i felt kinda bored and the stakes were too big to really feel impactful anymore. i really miss all the character moments from the first two seasons and the ending felt really sudden and preachy? i mean it was ok to watch i guess and it makes sense as an ending but,, kinda leaves you unsatisfied huh
also what is all this discourse about the showrunners going on 👀

Hello!
I just finished reading your fic LB (twice!!), you're suuuch a good writer! The characters and the world building/culture and lore especially are super super amazing! Yours is probably one of the best fics I've EVER read! The best one in the Voltron tag for sure! Seriously, it's super duper awesome! I also looove that you're answering questions here!
I was actually wondering about the Galra in regards to (raising) their children...
You said before that children are really very, very important to the Galra and that they are treated very well, hence why Keith's neglect/(abuse?)/maltreatment would really shock and upset them...
I also read your posts about the Idea of disowning children and how a child (perhaps not an adult?) acting out would moreso be considered a failing on the parents part etc. ...
Considering that Lotor was (rather publicly?) banished and (perhaps not so publicly) mistreated by his 'father' (and technically his 'mother', but the Galra don't know that I suppose), how would the Galra look at that? Especially the mistreatment, I mean some of the Galra upper echelon had to have known about it, right? Do they excuse it, because Lotor is only half Galra and Zarkon is the emperor? Is it more or less a kept secret? Do only certain people dis-/approve?
Also how is a banishment like this viewed by the general public? Wouldn't it be a really big stain on Zarkon's rule/popularity? Wouldn't it carry a sentiment like 'if you can't properly take care of your own child, how will you be able to take care of an Empire'?
(If this is a spoiler or you answered a question like this before I apologize...)
Also: imagine Kolivan/the Blades finding out about not only Keith's mistreatment but Lotor's past as well??? The rage... the empire wouldn't know what hit'em!
ALSO also reading in one of your tags about Kolivan having a mate and a child that he lost... And reliving that trauma everytime one of the blades dies... Is someone cutting onions in here or what? 😭
Keith, you have to make it!!! If not for your own, then for Kolivan's sake!!!!!
Anyway, thank you so much for writing Little Blade and induldging everyone with your blog posts!
Galra Children | Galra Parenting | Parental Relationships | Family Names | BoM Family Names | Neglect & Disownment | Blood vs Adoption
-
Ahhhhh thank you so much my love!! 🥰
So you seem to have done your reading and be very much up to speed with all my posts about galra children (which is very exciting for me, I'm always glad to know that people are still enjoying my longer posts even months/years later!!), but I've linked the bulk of them above for the ease of anyone who is less familiar.
In terms of the behaviour of children reflecting upon the parents/caregivers/community, this is only the case while the child in question is still a child—and indeed the line between galra childhood and adulthood is quite a distinct one. I think of the Empire as a whole (ie. not just one cultural/religious group within it) hosting something akin to the Maasai coming-of-age ceremony, Il Mirisho, wherein the initiates are boys of the same "age set" of 9-15 years. So the galra equivalent of this is Q'tskraal, a quadrennial rite of passage for kits of at least 60idp (21.4% of the way through the average galra lifespan, the approximate human equivalent of 17y), the name of which is an amalgamation of two Zaalkh words: Q'tsaal (the tutelary deity of change, its name being synonymous with the qualities of mutability / unpredictability / progress / a demanding spirit), and Kral (from the root Kra, indicative of a physical trial of conquest). Celebrated only once every four decaphoebs, this rite is held at the end of Nydaan—the ninth of Daibazaal's ten phoebs, as, due to the galra's monestrous fertility cycle, the overwhelming majority of successful births occur throughout A’vael, with premature / overdue kitlings being born into late Hiikyl / early Nydaan respectively, meaning that as Nydaan comes to a close all but the most extreme of outliers have freshly celebrated the anniversary of their birth—in the hope that the Divine Twin L’lameih, whose benevolent eye is the emerald star of Nyd, will bless the proceedings.
Participants are presented with a trial which, if they prove themselves strong enough to overcome, denotes them as capable of sharing in the community's burdens as a contributing member rather than a dependent. Though the specifics vary depending on local tradition, the broad strokes of this trial tend to be the same across the Empire, with all the participants being ceremoniously bathed, clothed, and painted, before the rite-proper (which usually involves some element of combat, due to strength being such a core value in imperial culture) commences. More often than not, the manner in which any given participant triumphs in this trial is just as important as the victory itself, as this is believed to reveal some core facet of their character and therefore indicate what kind of a person they will be—a warrior? a scholar? an inventor? an artist?—and how they might best set forth to benefit the community. Notably, however, not everyone will succeed at their first Q'tskraal, and it's quite common to have to attempt it two or three times over before prevailing; this isn't a shameful thing(!!!), it's simply taken as the kit in question not yet being ready for the responsibility of adulthood, and thus they remain a kit (sometimes even as they age into their seventh decade) until Sa sees fit to grant them victory.
So this transition is one from the role of protected to protector (a great honour!) which of course also encompasses responsibility for one's self: as an adult, no longer can they claim ignorance or foist responsibility upon their elders, as their actions are their own and therefore a reflection solely of themselves. To disown one's child who is no longer actually a child would still cause something of a stir, of course, but it wouldn't be even //remotely// taboo in the way that abandoning a kit would. Now, while zombie-Zarkon was far from a good father, by the time he exiled his son, Lotor had already succeeded in his own Q'tskraal—though not via his father's preferred method of violent subjugation, but more by way of intellect—and was therefore deemed an adult by Imperial society. Although said banishment could never avoid being a talking point, the narrative was meticulously controlled, with the official line blaming the entire thing on Lotor's "impurity of blood" and resultant "weakness of character", so naturally Emperor Zarkon had no choice but to hold his own son to the rigorous standard that he would expect of any imperial citizen.
The particulars surrounding Lotor's childhood, however,,, now those are shrouded in mystery, and believe you me, Kolivan & the BoM as a whole would indeed be o u t r a g e d .

I know this has been said before.
Really, I do. I’ve seen it more times than I can count, but really, it can’t be said enough; Dreamworks really screwed up with VLD Season 8.
Now, before you disregard this as just another post complaining about the season, please hear me out.
They didn’t just screw up the story and the character’s lives. They screwed up their fans.
All the fans who related to Allura, the at times insecure young woman with a bright future who was trying so hard to be someone people could look up to, who ended up as nothing more than a sacrifice and someone’s love interest.
All the fans who related to Lotor, the childhood abuse victim who only acted cold and manipulative because it was how he had to survive as a child, who ended up as just a rotting corpse (who “deserved better”) while his abusive parents were redeemed.
All the fans who related to Shiro, the strong leader who worked hard to overcome his disability and his PTSD, who ended up being shoved to the side in the last season so that a few side characters could suddenly be brought into the limelight for no real reason. And don’t even get me started on his lack of actual interaction with the man who apparently became his husband.
And lastly, all the fans who related to Lance.
This part may be a bit longer, but that’s only because this is the only one I can wholeheartedly relate to, and I don’t want to speak on another’s behalf about their own experiences.
The fans who related to Lance because of his quirky nature, because of his stubbornness, because of his loyalty, because of his insecurities, because of his dreams, because of his love for his family, because of his desire to be with someone who he knew was out of his league.
This is a character who we saw from the first episode and absolutely fell in love with. I, personally, have never related to a character more, and I don’t think I ever will. I kept waiting for him to finally get his character arc, to get the development he deserved (outside of development that was done sloppily through other characters), waiting for him to have an episode that was just him—but it never happened. Yes, you could argue that the episode with him and Hunk with the mermaids counts, but I’m talking about an episode like all the other characters got that showed him actually growing as a person. I waited for him to have the romance he deserved, someone who chose him first, someone who he was on the same level as, someone who he needed, but instead, he got thrown in with Allura as some last-ditch effort to save an already crumbling plot.
Here’s the thing. I wouldn’t have cared who he had ended up with as long as it had been executed properly. But... I look at Allurance and all I feel is sadness and dread. Lance’s relationship with Allura almost exactly mirrors a relationship I was in where I was miserable, constantly trying to keep up with her, and was always there for her while I never got the love or support I needed. Not only does he end up with her, but then she dies and leaves him alone for what seems to be the rest of his life. Not only that, but he also ends up stuck working on his family’s farm for the rest of his life, which is not the life he wanted for himself in the beginning.
I look at what they’ve done to this character and I’m terrified, because honestly? The fate that he has been resigned to is the one that I dread the most. And if that’s what I feel, then I can’t imagine what the people who relate to all of the other wonderfully flawed characters in this series may be feeling right now.
My heart goes out to all of you. And thank you to anyone who actually took the time to read this; I know I get long-winded, but I needed to get this out somewhere. I hope all of you know that you’re more than these characters, and your fate is not the same as theirs, even if the situation you’re in may seem hopeless at the moment.

Royal Greetings
This is a post with an idea for our fanfic: a new project
You know, Lya lives in the galra empire as an electress/princess. But I asked myself: why would Zarkon let her stay on his ship?
Like i needed a (extra) reason, beside her work! And i thought, after watching a video on YouTube about propaganda channels, that this would be a interesting Idea!
Lya would be (somwthink like) an influencer.
That means a blogger, jounalist, etc. and in her posts she tells people how nice and peaceful the empire with zarkon as the king is.
Let's be real, the three things the empire (or Zarkon) needs are:
Quintessence
Planets (for his people)
Soldiers
As in later seasons explained, Lotor has the greatest success in bringing in quintessence for the galra empire
And I think Zarkon has no difficulties conquering other planets
But what about new, young people who would agree to die for his plans?
After all, most footsoldiers are middle-aged men/women
That's now Lyas part!
And as I've said in my post before, its again something interactive, to make you feel like a part of our world and Story!
I created a Blog and Instagram account for this reason, so feel free to visit my page!
Why did we do this?
Simple question, simple answer: quality.
We know that we're not the best writers in the universe, so we wanted to create a world outside of our little Fanfiction to give you the best possible reading experience!
How will this work?
I call it "Projekt F" and it's an art project, examples who had the Idea: every Character in Helluva Boss has their own Instagram account and a lot of posts are a sneak peek for future episodes!
We may not have many readers yet as we are in the early stages of this story, but we still want to offer you a certain level of quality!
I discussed everything with Sastia [Stella] and she didn't mind, we both pay close attention to details and love our project!
I'll be posting regularly on this Blog and on Instagram like a normal person would, so you might get a little flair of "humanity" in my OC.
...how ironic to say that about an alien...
Some of the posts contain spoilers for the chapters that are yet to appear, but until then: wait and see!
(eg: Haggar needs Lya and the druids for her experiments in the next chapter and a selfie of Lya with the druids in the background appears on the Instagram account and/or blog)
So...
Think of it as a little thought-experiment or roleplay, like going to a medieval festival and putting yourselves in the place!
Have fun, Stay tuned darlings and I hope that my ideas can resonate with you!
- Fürstin Lya

Lotor: Wait, I don’t even know your name
I was so thirsty for their interaction and got Keith tackling Lotor down the stairs so it’s better than nothing. This is my imaginary conversation they had after the Olympic torch scene.
