The lesson learned in What Women Want was to treat women like people and to respect them as both people and women. The lesson Taraji P. Henson has to learn is that men are sexist pigs who want to keep women beneath them. This concept really doesn't work in the reverse. In the original he isn't constantly battling sexism and women who just want to hire him for the opportunity to bed him or check off a box. He's battling his own perceptions of women. Also she's black.
Ali gains a tool to help navigate the world as a woman who works in a male dominated field. In the original he gains a burden that helps him understand how his treatment of women affected them. The most important thing she does learn is how to be a better friend to her female friends and the few men who actually like her.
Tracy Morgan's character was never going to let his son sign with Ali for the simple fact that she was a woman the only reason the son does eventually is because he takes charge of his own life. Ali finds out about the secret poker nights that she wasn't being invited to because she is a woman not because of any of the reasons Kevin lists. All the men act like her (headstrong, driven, asshole) but they specifically don't like those qualities in her because she is a woman. Even Kevin, who she partners with in the end is a part of excluding her and treating her differently because she is a woman. Her boss tells her she's only working at the agency because she's a twofer.
There is nothing Ali can do to change these men's opinions of her or women. Misogyny isn't something that can be undone by a woman doing what she knows men want. If anything it makes it worse.
Sure, Ali does learn that not all men are sexist pigs, but mainly she learns that a lot of them are.
I have see people speaking about Jegulus ice AU, I have see other people speaking about Jily ice AU, now I'm proposing Jegulily ice AU because obviously my brain is full of them
Imagine Regulus and Lily being incredible ice skaters, they are skating in duo together, winning competition after competition and often travel in the world because of that (and also dating each other)
James is just a hockey player who got hurt at his prime and needed to stop his career making him come back to his childhood town where he now teach kids around to play hockey to and is the local team trainor
One day Lily and Regulus came in the town trying to find a bit of peace since Marlene (who is Lily's best friend) told them her home was always open for them, of course they still want to go on the rink and they meet James there
At first they both hate him because James is James and they are them you know butt slowly after seing him playing with the kids and all they realize he's more than just a big ego and slowly start to like him, it's not a problem for them but for James? The poor man is lost in his feelings because how can he be in love with two people???
Eventually the couple ask him in a date and he's so confused trying to understand where is the joke and all until he realize they BOTH want a date with him and be all together and he's just exploding with happiness, taking their hands in his and leading them to the best restaurant of the town (Peter's one of course 😌)
Sirius: *works out*
Remus: oh, so you also heard that stretching helps in growing higher?
Sirius: don't worry about it dear, but if you would do that the ceiling would not survive it
honestly this isn't like, to say herbert is super niceys in canon BUT. i feel like if he actually succeeded in bombing the player, rookie, gary (and likely dot as well- i dont remember if the original epf command room was destroyed when the psa hq was) he'd probably not feel 100% happy about it. murder is in fact, a big deal! and while i'm not saying he'd instantly regret it i wouldnt be surprised if he'd feel SOME kind of way if he did succeed, even if he was mostly like "YAAAAY THOSE ANNOYING BIRDS ARE FINALLY DEAD". like yknow, even if i write my herbert to be Meaner and Nastier post blackout its not like i see even my herbert and especially not canons as someone who is Only Evil All The Time, i genuinely think this man would be at least slightly conflicted once the whole 'i actually succeeded in killing them' thing kicked in. and while he was obviously thrilled to bits about taking over the island and freezing the epf's leads, freezing them isn't exactly the same as killing them since as we know, even though it can have negative effects like gary saying he'd been having medical issues after being dethawed it's not permanent like being Killed-
100% convinced one of my friends will end up famous and then one day y'all will see me on the tv at an event I should NOT be important enough for just because I get bestie privileges
Follow up question, how would you split the teams so that said fight was balanced?
You will be glad to hear that pillow fighting is an officially recognized discipline. It can be performed by everyone regardless of experience, age, and size.
Rather than a team effort, this would be a one-on-one encounter. As per the established rules, a pillow fighting game lasts a total of 270 seconds, divided in three 90 seconds long rounds. The contestant that lays a higher number of hits on the head wins.
Here is I would organize pillow fighting matches of the top group agents based on speed, flexibilty, and close range ability:
‘[jae min] turned you down when you were yuri (the person you want to go back to after this is all over and who you were when you were the happiest and most comfortable with yourself) but wants to date you when you’re kwon sook (the person you hate being and have actively been running away from for three years) and ofc that makes a difference’
“This is about a man who was dealt a bad hand, now finding the right next opportunity.
Uncovering a new project where he can work with a team that embraces his unique set of skills. A project where his experience can be applied.
A process where he can reset and show his love for the game. And ultimately put himself in the best position to show the world what he’s capable of should he be given the chance. It’s a different approach yes, but it’s also a new day for the sport.”
For a second there I thought they were going to end up with Coop being Spencer's agent, and I wasn't even mad about it. I've been really enjoying the renewed focus on their friendship this season. It's been such a refreshing reminder of what Spencer's working towards, where he came from, and who truly has been on his team since day 1.
And like it can kind of work if she decides to focus on Sports Law (right??? idk)
