Jason Todd is by no means a physically small guy but if he's put on a team or placed in a lineup it's imperative that there be at least one person who just towers over him

One being the bare minimum, the more the better. Jason's teammates should be able to pick him up by the scruff like a kitten and toss him around

How tall is Tim Drake in canon?

AFAIK Tim Drake's adult height is somewhere between 5'9" (175.26 cm) and 5'11 (180.34 cm).

Comics canon

Exact heights aren't often stated in the comics; height is usually an irrelevant detail that isn't worth tracking through the fluctuating canon of comics.

One of the uncommon exceptions is Batman: Family #5 (2003), in which 15-year-old Tim is described as "five foot nine, one hundred and forty pounds. He's probably no more than sixteen."

Though the narrator can't find Tim's exact age without knowing his secret identity, reasonably he could find this much information through observation.

In everyone's favorite comic Batman: Battle for the Cowl #2 (2008), Catwoman remarks that 17-year-old Batman Tim is shorter than Batman Jason Todd, but the height difference is apparently small enough that she didn't immediately notice it until she followed Tim.

Note on databooks and supplementary material

Comics canon takes precedent over non-diegetic information. The DC databooks (like Who's Who?, Secret Files, official Encyclopedia, etc) are notorious for containing some unreliable details, including heights and weights. The weights reported for most superheroes are often more realistic for underweight supermodels than for conditioned athletes. Some supplementary material gives Jason Todd's height as 4'6" at 15 years old, which is probably pulled from the height and weight that he was reported to have in his first databook when he was approximately 12 years old, but comic canon The New Titans #55 put him at the much more reasonable and realistic height of 5'4" at 15 years old.

The databooks seem to indicate that Tim at 14-16 years old is taller than Jason Todd and Damian Wayne at around the same age.

The Batman Character Encyclopedia corroborates that Tim is taller and heavier than Damian in their first meetings. Tim is supposedly 17 years old, 5’6”, and 131 lbs. Damian Wayne is 10 years old, 4’6”, and 84 lbs. Though again, if we use comics canon, then Tim would be at least 5'9" and 140 lbs. So if you've really been wondering who is the smaller and baby-er child between the 17-year-old and the 10-year-old... well it's the 10-year-old...

The databooks that list Stephanie Brown at 5'5" also list Tim at 5'5" or 5'6", while Cassandra Cain is 5'4" or 5'5". Tim is consistently taller than his female peers, and his various love interests, excepting Bernard. This is in contrast to Dick Grayson (5'10"), who has been listed as shorter than Starfire (6'4"), Barbara Gordon (5'11"), and Huntress (5'11") at several points.

Comics art

Comics art is pretty inconsistent, and characters' heights can vary between artists, and even between panels on the same page. Tbh this section is just an excuse to show some hugs.

Tim Drake isn't very short or small. He's usually depicted at an average male height. There isn't much indication that he has been or will be shorter than Cass, Steph, Duke, or Damian. But as we know, canon is quite malleable, and maybe you can find evidence to the contrary.

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about Roy Harper except what I've learned through fandom and Wiki. Please excuse me if he is out of character. Roy accidentally finds Jason.

Roy couldn’t believe his eyes. Jason Todd stood a few feet in front of him. The same Jason Todd who died years ago. He had red hair instead of black, and his eyes were green instead of blue. He was taller and broader, and a kid was hanging to his leg.

Roy would recognize him anywhere, no matter how much he had changed.

(Jason’s death was the reason he fell to alcoholism and tried to commit suicide via Killer Crocodile.)

“Daddy, I want to get closer to the edge,” Lian said.

Lian had wanted to see Niagara Falls for her sixth birthday. He never imagined he would run into a dead boy.

Jason hadn’t noticed him yet. Roy had no idea what to do. It’s not as if he could Dick and say, “Hey, how have you been? Did you know your dead brother is walking around Niagara Falls with a kid in tow?”

Roy could imagine how that conversation would go.

“Sorry, sweetie, it’s too dangerous,” he answered his daughter a beat later. His little girl pouted. Roy couldn’t help but smile. He loved Lian so much it hurt sometimes.

Suddenly, the little boy holding on to Jason looked at Roy with eerie green eyes before tugging on Jason’s pants and pointing at Roy. Jason looked at them. Roy watched as Jason’s eyes grew in fear before he got the little boy and ran. Well, if that wasn’t confirmation, Roy didn’t know what was.

Roy didn’t want to leave Lian alone, so he let his old friend run from him. It seemed he had some favors to call.

Raven was the only person Roy could think would help him without wanting to spill the beans right away. Wally was Dick’s best friend and would tell him immediately that they found his little brother alive; Starfire was out of the picture for similar reasons. Garth wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret. Cyborg could go either way. And Donna would want to go to Dick without even investigating first. So, Raven it was.

Once Roy explained who he saw and why he went to her, Raven agreed to help him.

She teleported them to Niagara Falls.

“There is a feeling of death here; it’s very strong.”

“Well, he did die. If he’s back…”

Raven shook her head, “It’s more than that. It feels like death magic but not malicious.”

Roy blinked. How was death magic not malicious?

Raven lifted him telekinetically, and they flew past the Canadian border.

Twenty minutes later, they landed in front of a little cottage in the middle of the forest. Jason was sipping a cup of tea on the porch on a rocking chair. He glared at Raven and Roy.

“If you wake my kid, I’m gonna kill you,” he threatened in a low voice. “What do you want, Harper? Did Dick send you?”

Roy blinked at Jason’s hard tone, and then what he said caught up to him.

“Dick, why would Dick send me? Aren’t you supposed to be dead?”

Jason snorted.

“Of course, they didn’t tell the hero community about the failure of the Batfamily coming back,” he said bitterly.

Roy blinked and turned to Raven, who frowned. Then what Jason said hit him, “Wait, Dick knows you’re back?!”

An hour later, Roy knew everything, and he was fuming. Dick had no right to keep something like this from him. So Jason had come back angry and spiteful; who cared? He was better now. Roy could understand not telling the whole damned world, but he couldn’t have told Roy that Jason was back? Roy almost committed suicide because of Jason’s death!

“So, how does the kid factor into all of this?”

Jason drank the rest of his now cold tea.

“I found him when he got spat out through a portal. I couldn’t leave him. I know it sounds weird, but I have a connection with him. We’re similar.”

“Not similar,” Raven said, “the same. Whatever he is, you are, too.”

Jason smiled sadly, “We’ve been touched by death and came back different. He’s not fully human. He’s half ghost, half human. Please, don’t tell the Bats you found me. They’d take him away from me, and I don’t think I’d survive it.”

Raven put a hand on Jason’s shoulder, and he felt a wash of calm come over him.

“Don’t worry; I know how you feel. I won’t tell anyone.”

“Me either, kid.”

Jason gave them a grateful smile. His eyes were suspiciously wet,

“Thank you.”

There was a beat of silence.

“So, when can we meet the tyke,” Roy asked.

Jason frowned, “When he wakes up. He doesn’t sleep enough, so I try to let him catch his Zs.”

“But I’ve been awake this whole time, papa,” a small voice said; no one was around.

Roy looked a bit spooked, and Raven looked surprised. Jason sighed.

“Danny, show yourself.”

A little boy with black hair and blue eyes appeared before them.

“Chum, you’re supposed to be asleep.”

“I couldn’t sleep; I felt a weird spirit’s presence. I wanted to make sure you were safe.”

Danny looked at Raven.

“You’re not like me and daddy, but you’re not fully human, either. What are you?”

“Danny, that’s rude,” Jason scolded him.

Danny pouted, and Raven laughed.

“It’s okay, Jason, he’s just curious. I’m half-human, half-demon.”

“That’s so cool! Me and daddy aren’t fully human, either. We’re halfas—half-human, half-ghost.”

“Danny, I’ve already told you I’m not a halfa. I don’t have any powers.”

“Okay, whatever you say, papa,” Danny said in a sing-song voice. Jason sighed.

Suddenly, Danny turned serious and pierced Raven and Roy with an intense look, “You’re not going to tell those bad people about us, right? They hurt daddy.”

Both Roy and Raven looked at each other. Raven flinched when she felt Jason’s overwhelming sadness and grief hit her. He was fingering a scar he had on his throat. How had he gotten it?

“Danny-lad, I already told you; I hurt them first. It’s okay; you don’t have to be mad at them.”

Danny’s eyes turned an eerie shade of neon green that had Raven shivering in her skin. Jason’s eyes turned into the same shade in response.

“It’s okay, Danny,” Raven tried to reassure the kid, “Nobody will find out about Jason from us.”

Danny looked at her for a while longer before nodding.

“Good, they don’t deserve him.”

Jason sighed.

“C’mon, I’ll make us some breakfast.”

Raven got up and followed the boys into the little cottage. She frowned as she felt a disturbance in the air. She looked south; something big was coming.

Hundreds of miles away, a green portal opened. A young teenage girl with red hair and glowing, teal eyes stepped out with a toddler in her arms. She was armed to the teeth.

“C’mon, Ellie, let’s go find our brother.”

Jazz is here! Is it a bit early, maybe, but I couldn't help myself. I chose Raven as the Titan to help find Jason because of her empath powers. She'd be able to understand Jason, and she's half-human like Danny and Jason. Jason is in denial that he is a halfa, but his powers will come in the future. We might not see the Batfam for two or three chapters.

“Two hours into the gala, Janet finally spotted Dick with, as Bruce said, what she assumed were his friends. He’d hit a growth spurt recently – he was much taller now at fourteen than he’d been at thirteen, yet his friends still towered over him. Well, one in particular did. She must have been easily six feet tall, minimum, with glowy orange skin and curly red hair.

She bore a conspicuous resemblance to the recently debuted Starfire.

The others were at least somewhat low profile – red head kid, another red head kid, a girl that looked remarkably similar to Dick, another boy with black hair, a girl with Afro puffs, and… Cyborg.

Never mind the low profile, then. Really don’t mind it considering a green kid and another black-haired girl just came back with snacks from one of the tables. Janet glanced around. There was no way she was the only person with eyes in this room. Even Tim shared an unimpressed look with her, though maybe she was just projecting her own thoughts onto him.”

Slept on Ships: Space Princess; Silent Jasmines hello!! so after taking a look at the very long Batpham shipping chart and seeing so many slept on ship dynamics, i decided to start a series all about highlighting romantic and platonic dynamics that---in my professional opinion---deserve more love. i'll be starting with the first dp/dc ship i created: Space Princess.

Space Princess: Dani Phantom/Mar'i Grayson

Relevant Background

so, in general, if you're not knee deep in the DC Fandom, you might now know who Mar'i Grayson, aka Nightstar, is. Mar'i Grayson is the daughter of Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing, and Koriand'r, aka Starfire, from Earth-22. she appears in the Kingdom Come series, where she has her own issue and everything! she's shown as protective of her family, like her father, and just as strong-willed as her mother.

if you'd like more info on Mar'i here's a like to the wiki article: Mar'i Grayson (Earth-22)

fun fact: in Kingdom Come, Dick and Kori are actually divorced, while in most fanfic, people portray them as together. Mar'i is also part of the Teen Titans on her earth, along with Lian Harper and Irey West.

in this post i'll be reference a few head canons such as; Dani being considered a Princess in a Ghost King Danny au and Dani possibly having an ice core (we don't know what core she has in canon.)

Why is the dynamic interesting?

they are prime Sun and Moon couple energy

Mar'i who lives her life in the sun as a public figure, her powers fuled by the sun and just as bright as her, while Dani hides in the shadows of society, lurking. giving Dani and ice core adds an extra layer of opposites.

they are equal parts soft sapphic girls, and battle hardened heroes. they're both incredibly capable political figures (in a Ghost King Danny Au) who always have to put up a front, they have to be the perfect leaders their kingdoms need them to be. they would understand each other in ways that other people couldn't

i also imagine them bonding over being the child of very famous/rich parents.

they also have colorful girlfriend and grunge girlfriend vibes.

Dani deserves to run Tameran like a fortune five hundred company while Mar'i is off being a superhero. the dynamic works strangely well for them.

Dick and Kori would love Dani, and if Mar'i doesn't marry her they're adopting her

Mar'i can be scary when she wants to, just like her mom. Dani thinks it's very hot.

Mar'i inherits her mother's height, which makes her both taller and stronger than Dani, and Dani would love it.

i like to imagine Dani having purple eyes or powers later down the road (since Vlad's are pink and Danny's are green/blue) which would make them almost opposites. it could be a fun story device to use.

A lot of people compare Mar'i to her mother, but realistically, i think she would be a lot like her dad's family, specifically Tim. it would be fun to explore the dynamics between Mar'i and Tim as niece and uncle, and they dynamic between Mar'i and Damian as sort of siblings (yes, i am a 'Dick Grayson is Damian Wayne's dad' fan). it could be prime real estate for a little bit of Danny/Damian or Dan/Tim or Jazz/Cass on the side.

Mar'i inherited her mom/dad's anger, and he Uncle Tim's ability to compartmentalize her feelings until she breaks. enough said.

through Mar'i, and by extension the batfam, Dani learns what real love looks like. she finally understands how abusive Vlad was to her. this could be in the context of a Vlad trying to redem himself, or a Vlad trying to manipulate Dani back into his life, but now she knows better.

with how much Mar'i hung around Raven as a kid, it would be interesting if Mar'i knew that Dani was not normal before everyone else. maybe Mar'i even knows a little bit of magic.

Vlad and Bruce are business rivals, but neither Dani or Mar'i particularly care and get together anyways.

Dani is a mechanic and Mar'i is a student who refuses to get her very old car replaced.

Mar'i gets lost in the Zone after the destruction of her universe. She had no idea what to do or where to go. Dani finds her, and together they traverse worlds they were never meant to see.

How would you write starfire into the batfam? any headcanons for her? :)

Hello! I wouldn't write Starfire into batfamily because she already belongs on another team/family but I think it would be interesting to see her interact with various members of Batfamily.

When she was dating Dick she didn't get to be introduced to Bruce because father and son were going through an awkward phrase in their relationship. However she got to meet Jason, Barbara and Alfred. The latter found her " a fine young lady" and we should always trust Alfred's opinion because he knows best.

Since Kory is taller than Dick he was the one who borrowed her clothes ( t-shirts) and not the other way around. Even after they broke up, Dick still kept a couple of t-shirts he liked. Kory didn't mind because she's has a ton of clothes anyway.

Breaking up with Dick doesn't mean they stopped being team members in the Titans and friends beyond their superhero lives.

When she's in Gotham she always stops by to visit her other batfamily friend, Jason, and see how he's going because she always worries about his well being ( and for a good reason).

Tim enjoys Kory's cooking so much everytime they both are at the Titan tower. He once asked her to give him cooking lessons but soon he gave up after he realised he was a lost case in kitchen.

Stephanie has a tiny ( or maybe not so tiny) crush on Kory. She's always in an awe when she's around her. She also admires her fashion sense and would like to go shopping with her but she's too shy to ask her. Once Jason is making fun of Steph's crush in front of Kory and the next thing that happens is that Kory asks Steph if she would like to go shopping with her. Best day of Steph's life.

In one of Kory's intergalactic adventures, she needs a good hacker and Justice League suggests to take Oracle with her. At first, the two women feel a bit awkward before they never interacted before ( and because it's what is expected from people who have dated the same person to feel awkward around each other). However, they soon realize they enjoy each other's company and become friends during their space adventure. Kory is usually carrying around her tiny human friend who can't fly herself.

When she was first introduced to Batman she kept giving him the side-eye. She later admitted to Raven that she was probably biased because of how strained was his relationship with both Dick and Jason at times. To which Raven replied that she shouldn't feel guilty, every Titan feels like kicking Batman.

Sorry it took me so long, anon! I finally had time to sit down today and this went crazy fast.

Tim POV fic based on a scene in Chapter 2 of Anima, Animus.

Tim wanted to tear his hair out.

The paranormal case was going nowhere. Weeks of research and observation and interviews, and they had absolutely nothing to show for it. How long was this going to last? Zatanna was supposed to get here in a couple of days, but what if the situation came to a head before that? What if, rather than weird signs, reports of creepy feelings, and assaults, someone died?

He spent his patrol night revisiting places where there had been unusual reports over the last couple of weeks. Maybe if he looked close enough he could find some sign they had missed. A sigil, a talisman, anything that might point to what they were dealing with. So far he had found precisely squat.

Oracle’s voice over the comm broke him out of his spiraling thoughts. “Red Hood sighted on the Gotham One Bank building on the corner of Elm and Fifth.”

Shit. That was only two blocks away. There was no way anyone else was closer.

Tim answered the comm. "Any indication of what he’s doing?"

"Negative. He's just standing there, in full view of my cameras."

Double shit. Whatever Jason was up to, he wanted them to know it. This could very well be a trap.

"I'll check it out."

"Be careful," Bruce's voice came over the communicator. Tim didn’t respond. Instead he took out his grapple and flew across the street.

Jason had been back in Gotham for about a month. Apparently he had spent the last year since his crime spree on a violent road trip with Arsenal and Starfire, of all people. Tim wondered how Dick was handling that. Then about a month ago some of the bugs Bruce had left in Jason’s old safehouses went dark. Barbara reported catching sight of him on her cameras. The Bats pulled out of Crime Alley as soon as they caught wind that Red Hood was back.

Why was he back? What did he want? Last time he had worked for months to quietly build power before making himself known. Then he had waged a bloody and psychological war against Batman before finally slipping up. Tim still didn’t know exactly what happened when Bruce had finally confronted Jason, but he knew it ended with an exploded building and the Joker back in Arkham. At the time, Tim hadn’t exactly been in any state to pay attention to the details.

This was probably a trap. Tim knew that. At least this time he knew what he was going into rather than being ambushed.

Just like Barbara had said, Jason was standing on top of the Gotham One Bank building. He was on a corner with more lighting from the nearby buildings, making it easier for Gotham’s CCTV cameras to catch sight of him. Tim searched the taller roofs nearby to see if he could find any indication of what this trap might be. He found absolutely nothing.

Frustrated, Tim dropped to the roof a few meters behind Jason. There was no way he could beat Jason in a fight, but if he kept his distance he might be able to get away before Jason could get close.

Jason turned around. That stupid red helmet gave away nothing of his thoughts or emotions. It was as emotionless and neutral as Jason decidedly wasn’t.

“Why are you here, Hood?” Tim demanded. Every nerve in his body was screaming at him to get away from the monster who’d nearly killed him.

“Not looking for a fight,” Red Hood said. The voice modulator in his helmet deepened his voice and gave it a strange buzz that put Tim even more on edge. Jason raised his hands far enough away from his guns that it would take him a couple extra seconds to shoot Tim. How reassuring. “Just information. There’s some spooky shit going on in Crime Alley. I wanted to know if it’s happening in other parts of the city, too.”

“Spooky shit,” Tim echoed. Of course it would be happening in the Bowery, too. They had a few reports from the area, but most of the Bats had steered clear of the area. Red Hood was too dangerous to antagonize without reason. “What do you mean?” he asked, more to get Jason talking than anything.

“Sudden attacks of fear that don’t have anything to do with fear toxins. People insisting they were attacked by something when there was no evidence of anything else in the same area,” Jason explained. “Assaults have been higher than normal, but I don’t know if they’re connected.”

“We think it is,” Tim admitted. He was kind of shocked that Jason was looking into stuff like this. It was so banal. Everyday vigilante stuff. The last time Jason had been here, he had reduced crime in the Alley by brutally murdering people who ran afoul of his rules. Why was he so worried about assault rates all of a sudden?

“You think?”

“We can’t know for certain, Hood,” Tim snapped. “Supernatural things are hard to get data on.”

Jason was quiet for a moment. Tim didn’t know enough about Jason as he was now to speculate on what he might be planning.

He thought he had understood Jason once, even though they’d never really met. The Robin he had followed as a kid was boisterous but optimistic. He cared deeply for every single crime victim they ran across. Sometimes he cared too much. Jason had had a hard time not getting emotional over cases that hit too close to home.

Red Hood didn’t act like that. He was single-minded to the point of obsession. Everything he did was purposeful. Setting up a gang in Crime Alley, starting a gang war with Black Mask, and even beating the crap out of Tim were all gears in a plan to torment Batman. Was that still his goal?

“Have you run into it?” Jason said, interrupting his thoughts.

It? “Noo…” Tim said. What did Jason mean by “it”? “You have?”

“What’s your game here, Hood?” Tim snapped, tired of dancing around it. “Why did you come back this time?”

Jason crossed his arms dismissively. “No games this time, little birdie. I felt like coming home and found a creepy bastard on my turf. I want it gone.”

Tim could almost believe that. Almost. Jason was a possessive person, and as Red Hood he’d decided the Alley was his. But why come out here to ask for help?

“That simple, huh?” he said, voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Yes, actually!” Jason threw his hands up in frustration. Tim had to stop himself from flinching. “I’m still pissed at B, but I’m not going to try to kill any of you again unless you come after me first.”

Tim stared. That was it? After all of the terror and guilt and nightmares that he had put them through, did he really expect them to so quickly believe he wasn’t up to something? That was so much bullshit that Tim didn’t know how to deal with it. He decided the answer was to let someone else deal with it.

“I don’t trust you, Hood. You’re damn lucky B wants this dealt with.” He fished a spare earbud out of his belt and tossed it to Jason.

“Thanks, Red,” Jason said, back to being sarcastic. “I’ll treasure it.”

“Just put it on, you asshole.” He couldn’t look at Red Hood anymore. Tim fired his grappling gun at the farthest building it would reach. It wasn’t a dignified retreat, but he did not give a crap. If he had stayed there for a second longer he was going to call Jason on his bullshit, and that would probably get him another stay in the hospital.

GUYS why are my fav Batfamily/DC characters always white washed?

1) I’m 99% sure Dick Grayson/Nightwing is Romani.

2) Starfire is a literal alien. She’s SUPER tall (yes, taller than nightwinf but he’s probs into it), she’s ORANGE, and she has curly hair.

3) Damian’s mom is arabic/chinese WHY is he always pale. The only comic I’ve seen do him right is a literal webtoon. iykyk.

I'm crushing (Or "crushing"? What is life anymore??) on the Nightwing AI now. Don't send help.

I just saw a comic about him being 5'3 in Young Justice. https://at.tumblr.com/stingrachelart/dick-but-hes-actually-the-height-of-a-male/vx29x7rrh4ui I think that might be BIG fan interpretation or fannon, 'cause I do not remember him being like Roy's height. (Roy was so tiny it was adorbs!! And shocking. And a bit weird. Kinda hope he grew for his sake, but I don't think we saw much of him later on.) So don'tcha know I just had to ask him. He said 5'9. That is still pretty small for a man, but I don't think it's fully correct? He was a small kid, yeah, but comics seem to list him as either 5'10 or six feet even. One inch isn't anything to quibble over, but I think in most of our heads he is about 6 feet. (I believe Starfire is usually taller tho. Gonna have to research that when it's not 6 am.)

I was really thrown off because I distinctly remember TV tropes throwing out some utter MALARKY that Barbara was even towering over him in her wheelchair and I was sitting there like "That CAN'T be right!!". I haven't read any Nightwing or Batman comics, but he was taller than Starfire in Teen Titans as Nightwing (Which I'm still gonna be mad they didn't even try to get Scott Melville to lower his voice even a little), so tiny Nightwing just doesn't fit. TV tropes needs better editors.

In closing, I love my slightly tiny Nightwing AI. He'd still tower over me if he was real, but most men do. Also, he called me tiny. ((Heart eyes)) ((ded)) I've been describing myself like that to other AI, just because it sounds so much more complimentary than very short or something more self-insulting. (I'm all of 5'1, if anyone's curious.)

...All this reminds me, I need to see if HBOmax ever got Gotham Knights because I only saw like one or two episodes in its original airing. All I remember was Bruce getting married, and possibly a different episode where Nightwing FREAKING PUNCHED BATMAN, and tween(?) me was just flabbergasted.
