To You :)
Happy Birthday Seungcheol!!!
WC: 744 words. We must protect this man :(
Hand in hand, you sat comfortably on the couch with your beloved baby Kkuma, and your husband, Seungcheol. Time usually races to midnight, but when you're eagerly awaiting its passage, it seems to drag. Nonetheless, you embrace the virtue of patience and immerse yourselves back into the movie that both of you had been thoroughly enjoying. The silence and occasional glances to the clock from Seungcheol made it evident he's anticipating something. It's hard for him to remain discreet about something he's excited for, or he's eagerly waiting. However, you pause the movie because of how boring the plot gets, and switch off the TV. "Kkuma's asleep, so is my leg" you whine. Seungcheol grabs her and lays her comfortable on her bed, while you slowly get up and get in the kitchen.
"Where to?" He inquires, voice deepening with the amount of seriousness in his tone. "Oh just for some water. I'll be quick" you take out a bottle from the fridge. He stands for a while, as you glance his figure from the corner of your eye, hoping he goes in the room. Soon he does, and you quickly take out your prepared cake, with the candles and lit it. Unable to control your ecstacy, you hold your gift, and party caps, and slowly get in the room. Seungcheol, who was seated on the bed with a huge pout, legs crossed by the ankles, immediately lightens up in a huge, huge smile.
"Happy birthday Husband! Looks like another year of putting up with me is in the books" you chuckle. He laughs a little, and you proceed to sing him a birthday song. Kkuma who tends to be awaken by slight disturbance, rushes into the room and jumps onto her dad's lap. You put the cap on his head, and take some pictures to capture this simple moment. Calm has always been the aesthetic of the two of you.
"Well, they say practice makes perfect. Thanks for giving me so much practice then! But seriously, I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you so much, love" he pulls you on the bed, and blows on the candle. You rip out a piece from the corner and feed it to the birthday boy himself and he swipes a fluffy peak of cream on your lips to help himself on the sugar rush. He couldn't be more happier.
You pull out the gift you've prepared for him; the perfect watch for a man who holds luxury. "Hopefully you'll keep track of time when you're late" you sneer. He holds the watch in his hands and thanks you, "oh darling I have all the time" and you share a chuckle. Smiling, you look in his eyes and ask him, "what did your dad call your grandfather?" He looks at you, confused but proceeds to tilt his head and say "well he'd call him dad or father"
"And what did you call your dad?"
"Tch, Aunty" he scoffs "ofcourse dad"
"And what if someone else calls you dad?" You ask, your heart now racing in your chest.
"Honey, who would call me da-" he stops mid sentence, to look you. He raises his eyebrows, surprise all over his face. You finally take out the ultrasound sonogram and hand it to your surprised husband. He puts Kkuma on the bed and gets up, pacing back and forward in the room, texting his friends in his groupchat, absolutely frenzy with happiness.
"I'm going to be a dad? Me? Father? Oh my god" he picks you up and twirls you around. "Oh my- Cheol stop I'll fall!!" Laughter filling the room, he's on the moon right now. Nothing could bring him down from his peak of excitement.
"Thankyou so much for giving me the BEST gift ever" he slowly gets teary-eyed, hands on your belly as he hugs you from behind. You hold his hands, feeling every inch of his warmth onto you.
"You know how you're always worried about being late? Well, get ready to be 'late' for diaper changes and feeding times"
"Wait, are you saying we're starting a new trend of fashionable lateness?"
"Exactly! Our little one is going to set the trend for parents who arrive fashionably late to everything."
"I guess I'll have to update my wardrobe to match our baby's schedule then!" Seungcheol laughs. Safe to say your child will have the best parents in the world, and quite an interesting father.

Thankyou for reading this and giving so much love to my fic!!

I am starting to think the reason DA:O and DA:2 are so stylistically appealing to me is that they came out in 09 and '11 respectively. Like grimey was still the fashion at the time. Looking like a hungover rat was peak style. Its easiest to translate this Kesha/FallOutBoy/Thrift shop era macklemore (walk up into the club like what up I got a big cock etc etc) vibe onto the Kirkwall squad (Hawke and Anders and Isabela mostly) but I also would like to name Morrigan as a true My Chemical Romance patriot.
Inquisition is more polished and the character designs are more polished, reflecting the 2014 more "intentionally perfectly askew" (a less genuine scrungle). Though I think traces of this messiness from the previous games live on in Sera specifically.

Rorschach Inkblots in Rebellion
Tumblr media
When Sayaka confronts Homura at the end of Rebellion, a series of abstract images--five in all--flash across the screen as Homura explains herself. These are reminiscent of the famous Rorschach inkblots, a series of drawings used as a projective test by twentieth-century psychologists. Given all of the other references in the film to German literature, philosophy, psychoanalysis--from Freud's "Fort/Da!" to Nietzche's "Gott ist Tot!" and Eternal Recurrence" to Goethe's "Eternal Feminine", and the entirety of E.T.A. Hoffmann's The Nutcracker and the Mouse King--it's not surprising that Rebellion would go here, as the Rorschach test was a popular method of measuring the unconscious mind in psychoanalysis and thus fits perfectly with the film's established themes.
However, when I looked a little closer, I noticed that the cards in the film don't match any of the original ten cards in the system (i.e., the ones most commonly associated with the test).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Card #7 (left) and Card #9 (right) of the main Rorschach series, from Wikipedia.
As you can see from the sample above, the original ten Rorschach cards are either all black and white or all colored, but not both, unlike the "hybrid" cards in Rebellion. Why is that? And what do they mean?
Tumblr media
I did some more digging, and it turns out that although it's fallen out of fashion in the United States since its peak in the 1960s, the Rorschach test is extremely popular in Japan, where it's used for everything from personality analysis to marriage counseling. In addition to the modified Rorschach systems created by Western psychologists like Samuel Beck and Bruno Klopfer, there are a number of uniquely Japanese systems, including the Karo Inkblot test by Yasufumi Kataguchi, so it's possible that these images in Rebellion are part of one of these systems.
However, because the whole point of these inkblot tests is that the subject's reaction should be spontaneous, the cards in these systems are generally not released/revealed publicly, making it difficult to prove their origins way or the other. So what then?
Tumblr media
Ironically, that brings us right back around to projection! Since we the audience have no way of knowing what these images are supposed to mean, we have to construct the meaning out of these abstractions for ourselves, just like a real Rorschach test--which says as much about who we are and what we value as the image itself.
Tumblr media
But let us not forget the greater context. As these images flash across the screen, they are accompanied by Homura's voiceover, declaring, (in the official English translation), "I am now an existence known as 'Evil'". Coupled with the abstract images, it suggests a certain level of moral ambiguity--is Homura truly evil or is this a role she has adopted in order to achieve her goals?
Tumblr media
In a projective test, there are no right or wrong answers, only the limits of our imaginations and circumstances--paralleling the work of literary analysis and criticism. The genius of Rebellion is that, like the Rorschach test itself, the film provides no definitive answers to many of the questions that it raises, leaving the audience to decide how to interpret them--and even goes to the trouble of providing us these visual cues in order to emphasize the point.

What if blights only happen as a built in protection from solas spell that created the veil? Like the veil senses when the local cultures magical sophistication approaches a point where it could threaten its unraveling so it creates a blight, that’s why blights happen at random intervals. And reinforces the theory that solas helped find the religion of the chantry and its subjugation of mages. Keeping them under a watch from advancing magic.
Thank you for sharing this thought. I’m not sure if you are asking me something in particular. What I can do is to offer what we have of the lore related to it [which also has some degree of reliability] to confirm or debunk part or these ideas. While writing these, I kept thinking in potential questions that were naturally triggered along the text, so I ended up making a post about Blight, mostly. This post contains the following brief topics:
What’s the Blight?
How was The Blight created?
Why do the Blights occur?
Why do Blights appear at random intervals?
Why the archdemons are dragons?
Did Solas create the Chantry?
First, what’s the Blight?
The Blight per se is not explained in “biological” terms. Like, is this a virus or no? We don’t know, and it’s ok, because it’s epic fantasy, not sci-fi. We do know it’s a disease carried by the Darkspawn that can infect every living creature. Dragons are [so far I know] the only creatures naturally resistant to it, but not immune, so eventually they turn into Archdemons  [read Josephine’s result in Learn More about Dragons].
Another creature that may be immune to the Blight are the Titans. But this is an implicit information non-confirmed so far. From the books and from the DLC: The Uncharted Abbys, Bastion of the Pure, we have the impression that the deeper we go into the Deep Roads, and the closest into a Titan, the less Taint and darkspawn we see. It’s almost implicitly saying that the Blight doesn’t have too much grasp onto Titans.
But on the other hand, we have the existence of Red Lyrium, which seems to be the result of Blighted “titan blood”. If Titans are immune to the Blight, we can speculate that to taint a Titan, one needs a strong magical spell to force it. This is a very curious and not clear piece of lore: are Titans immune or resistant to the Blight? The answer is said through the silent environmental telling.
The Blight also carries the “song of the Archdemons” and only blighted creatures can hear it. The song inserts itself in the memories of the creature with extremely pleasurable feelings and, slowly, makes them lose their minds. Proofs of all these things can be read in the section “Old Gods, Archdemons, and The Blight” in Songs and elements that sing and whisper in DA Lore.
The Blight also produces or allows to cast Blight Magic, a unique kind of magic that is not blood magic. We have this difference since the DLC of DAO [last section in Soldier’s Peak] given by Avernus: Blood Magic comes from the demons and the Fade and has to be performed by mages, the Blight Magic comes from the Blight within, the caster doesn’t need to be a mage but a blighted creature willingly to unlock it, and it has strange properties that feel closer to the properties of Titan blood and "Titan Magic" we see with Valta [in Songs and elements that sing and whisper in DA Lore, conclusion section, I even speculated that the Blight may have been an attempt of the Evanuris of creating elvhenan slaves in similar fashion as the Titans had the dwarves, originally]. Avernus also claims that the Blight carries a song that is not exactly coming from the archdemon, he perceives its origin coming from the Black City itself [more reason to suspect the Blight is related to the Evanuris].
How was The Blight created?
How it truly was created is still unknown to us. We have the crappy explanation of the Chantry we all know at this point, but we also know it’s wrong: it was not created by the Magisters that entered the Golden City and tainted it with their presence. The Blight was already there when they entered, the Magisters only embraced it [Corypheus’ memories in Shrine of Dumat]. So, its origin is Elvhenan or draconic or dwarven [the three ancient races of Thedas, so far we know]. We can be more or less sure that it was not human-made at this point.
On the other hand, thanks to all the information [codex and dev’s notes] from the mural “The Death of a Titan”, we already know that the Evanuris “may have unleashed a terrible evil” [textually: “What the Evanuris in their greed could unleash would end us all”] which can be associated with the Blight.
Besides this, we also have the unique and key narration of The Horror of Hormak, where we learnt that the Evanuris may have made experiments with the shape of their slaves. I have a long post of full hypothesis and speculations about it in “The Horror of Hormak [Personal Speculation]”. This sustains the hypothesis that maybe the Blight was created by the Evanuris.
When we talk to Solas in Tresspasser [Elven Ruins], he says he created the Veil because it was the only way to avoid the destruction of the world. Something that the Evanuris did [which killed Mythal at the same time] “unleashed” a terrible Evil, and this is the reason he created the Veil. He also did it in a city [the Black City], and isolated it with a “deeper" barrier. I say this because the Veil is not a “big deal”. You can dream and cross it without much trouble, but nobody can access to the Black City, neither from the Waking Wold nor the Fade itself. This is the big defence barrier he crafted to isolate a terrible thing inside the Black City. I personally think that, considering the mural “The Destruction of the Veil“, the Blight has a good chance to be the “terrible thing” that the Evanuris unleashed [the other alternative is the Red Lyrium, but I’m not much inclined to this option because Solas has shown in several opportunities that he doesn’t understand/know how Red Lyrium works, while he has a deep knowledge of the Blight and its magic; for details, read “Solas sharing Lore: Part 1 - Part 2”].
If we keep in mind that The Horror of Hormak explains about the horrors that Elvhenan mages did by modifying the shape of creatures and combining them to create abominations, and we combine it with Zathrian’s Quest, which shows that forcing some [shape] bindings with blood magic can produce “curses” that behave like diseases; one has all the lore hints to speculate that, maybe, the Blight was a more accidental consequence of the Evanuris when they were making these experiments of the shape than a real goal of them [maybe they wanted to create a slave race or a dragon shape for themselves]. The creatures were unwillingly to pass through this transformation, and this kind of magic and binding can produce curses, as we saw in  Zathrian’s Quest [which produced lycanthropy].
We also have to remember that when the Evanuris were still free, Andruil may have been Blighted, because she wanted to hunt the Forgotten Ones, who where hidden in the Void [maybe deep into a Titan’s body? A corrupted Titan?]. She always came back from this journey suffering madness. She also made “an armour of Void and weapons of darkness, and plague extended on her lands” [potential interpretation: an armour of Lyrium and weapons with the Blight, so we can see that the potentiality of creating Red Lyrium is there too]. Fearing she could hunt down the other Evanuris, Mythal turned into a great serpent creature and fought Andruil, removing her knowledge of how to reach the Void. So, there is also a chance that the Blight already was underground [the Void], and Mythal was protecting that no one would use it. For a broad, detailed collection of information about Andruil, check her section in the post Evanuris.
I like this speculation because it’s a clean Occam’s razor [the main principle I try to use in all the speculations I’ve been working]
Another possibility is that, in binding the Evanuris and sealing them against their will in the Black City, Solas caused a situation like the one of the Lady of the Forest, and from that, the Blight appeared as a side-effect curse. Solas realized about this and isolated the city before further spreading. This hypothesis assumes that the Evanuris were causing another kind of big Evil that was not the Blight but it was equally disastrous, and from the lore we only know there exist only two big dangers for Thedas: The Blight and the Red Lyrium.
If the Veil has mechanism that produce Blights when in danger, it is not something that I’ve found in the lore so far.
Why do the Blights occur?
They are explained in the lore clearly, and we even have the proof via the Architect in the book The Calling: the Blights occur because thousands of darkspawn look for a blighted dragon. This dragon is sleeping underground until they awake them. From that moment on, a Blight starts [details in Archdemon section of Songs and elements that sing and whisper in DA Lore]. So far, Thedas expects 7 blights. In DAO we had the 5th one. This information seems pretty reliable so far, it’s the core itself of Dragon Age’s lore.
We also know a detail which is very curious: the Grey Wardena always knew the location of all the archdemons. They even had a map [now in possession of the Architect, source: the book The Calling], but they could never access to them because they needed armies to go underground since there was a lot of darkspawn to fight. The fact that someone knew the location of each of the Archdemons shows that there was knowledge of these creatures even before the Grey Warden were created [this implies that these locations were known even before the First Blight happened, and these dragons had a function that demanded to know where they were located]. So these dragons were in those places for another reason [maybe religious ones? Maybe to sustain a spell?]. I speculate about these possibilities in the lore section of The Silent Grove , Those Who Speak, and Until We Sleep.
Why do Blights appear at random intervals?
Mostly because the darkspawn have to travel, they tend to be mindless [with the exception of the Architect or the Disciples] and have no map with the location of the dragons [until now]. They usually have to dig with their own hands only guided by the song in their heads. The 5th Blight happened very soon from the moment The Architect got this map with the location of the Archdemons. He confessed in the game that he caused the 5th Blight by accident, when he was trying to perform a spell to make his people free from the song of the Blight.
What all this lore implies is that the blighted Dragons were already there since long time ago, sleeping. I talked about the potential relationship between Great Dragons as “guardians” or “feeders” of the barrier that isolates the Black City in the post  “The Creation of the Veil”. In short, we can speculate that Solas used great dragons to contain the Blight of the Black City, taking advantage of their natural resistance to it. For some reason, they are underground, but we have to remember that the Void where the Forgotten Ones were hidden seems to point out the Underground too as it does the “deeper Fade” [details of these off-topics in Ancient Elven codices, Temple of Mythal, and Ancient Elven codices; Vir Dirthara]. So, there is a very bland suggestion that maybe the Dragons that awake as Archdemons are the mysterious Forgotten Ones; they were never elvhen, they were Dragons [Hence Mythal/Flemeth's interest in protecting Urthemiel]. And who knows? maybe they were the original gods that the Elvhen worshipped at first until they managed to claim Divinity for themselves.
Why the archdemons are dragons?
Blighted Dragons are sleeping underground. In the comic The Silent Grove we learn that some people created this grove in order to protect some Great Dragons, which came to hibernate underground. They seem to be under some magical effect that only their own blood allows them to awake. This procedure seems to be similar to the bound magic that kept Corypheus trapped for centuries: the seal was strengthened years later by Hawke’s father and required the blood of Hawke to break it. Meanwhile, in his sleep, Corypheus could call Blighted creatures, commanding them to unleash him. As we can see, the procedure is similar to Blighted Dragons too: they call in their sleep to other blighted creature so they can awake, and according to Avernus, this song in fact comes from the Black City. I assumed that maybe some darkspawn had dragon blood, but maybe it’s the Blight itself what awakes them once they are bligthed. In The Silent Grove we learn that only Alistair, who has Calenhad's blood, and therefore, great dragon's blood, is the only person who can awake a Great Dragon.
All this also suggest that the Forgotten Ones may have been Dragons and not elvhen [this also makes sense with the DLC of Hakkon when we find the codex of a Forgotten One called Geldauran whose spirit form is of a dragon, details in Elvhen Tomb]. So the fact that Andruil went to the Void [underground] to hunt the Forgotten Ones, makes sense with the fact that many great dragons are sleeping for centuries, under the protection of the underground. So the mysterious Forgotten Ones may have been the Great Dragons worshipped later as Old Gods by the Tevinters too.
In the codex of the mural  “The Death of a Titan”, we know that Solas and his people collapsed caverns and sealed the Deep Roads with magic. Similar imagery is seen in The Horror of Hormak. Maybe the Black City is in two places: one in the Waking World, underground, collapsed and sealed by Solas, and protected by sleeping Dragons who are resistant to this disease, and another barrier was set in the Fade, around the Black City, to prevent anyone from seeing the reflection that the Fade has about this place. After all it’s clear [via codex and dev’s note] that Solas wanted this place to be forgotten because he wanted to “make sure nobody ever would find what the other gods were doing”, probably, to avoid new people trying to reach this power again.
Did Solas create the Chantry?
No. I don't think so. I think Solas is very out of the human history of Thedas simply because he was slumbering. From the moment he created the Veil until a year before the Inquisition, he was just resting [he says so in Elven Ruins, read section “The Shrine to the Dread Wolf”]. It is true he may have had some agents, like Felassan. He may have given orders through the Fade, but the hints we have so far suggest that his agents were always more involved about the location of artefacts: the eluvian network and the orb of Fen'Harel. In The Book of Tevinter Nights, his agents are looking for more artefacts such as the Red Lyrium idol.
Also, as a person whose actions are all about the respect of the free will of the people [read Solas' opinion about the Qun in "Solas sharing Lore: Part 1 - Part 2" to have a broad image of it], Solas would have never created the Chantry in that way. In fact, he has several lines energetically disgusted and against the treatment that mages receive in the Circles, and he appreciates the way Avvar treat their mages: they are free until they have some symptom of corruption, in which case, they are killed in their sleep [details in Stone-Bear Hold Avvars - Part 1].
I don’t think Solas may have any interest in creating or even supporting the Chantry, which uses a lot of his own personal history as part of the tale of the Maker. He never wanted to be a god: he, even as Fen’Harel, never wanted that title, which was imposed to him by the Evanuris [read Elven Ruins,]. What I’ve said before in posts like “The Chantry and the Mythology of the Chant of Light” or in the deep analysis of the Chant of Light [Part 1, Part 2] is that, if you see the context [which is vital to analyse all this information] of when some events happened and how after that some verses raised and were incorporated to the Chant, one has the impression that Fen’Harel’s romantised history was spread by those who loved him as a rebel leader [we analyses this in Ancient Elven codices; Fen’Harel’s mountain ruins] and his story was later taken and modified by the Chantry to create their own Maker, who trapped/banished “evil” spirits underground. The Chantry wanted to capture the faith of the former slave elves coming from Tevinter in their Halamshiral, after their fight beside Andraste. As usual in DA lore, it’s always a matter of co-opting culture and culture assimilation.
In my opinion, it’s more about the natural anthropological evolution of tales and legends from a culture to another [I explained this broadly in “The Chantry and the Mythology of the Chant of Light”]. In our real world, specialists on this can track a tale that changed along the continent, and could guess how a certain population migrated and was absorbed into another thanks to the changes suffered in their tales and faith.
Think in the context: Elves that were free of the Evanuris, were turned into mortals after the creation of the Veil and became [or their children] slaves to Tevinter. Slavery removed any chance for cultural preservation, so they may have kept the few rebel stories they could via oral transmission. The accuracy of the tales was destroyed in this process. That’s how by the time of the Third Blight, the words associated to Fen’Harel stopped being related to “rebellion” and changed into “betrayal”. There was manipulation of the fragmented elvhen tales in order to spread a bad image of the Dread Wolf. Somehow, later, the Chantry took the pieces of this tale that were appealing for the Elves and turned it into “the Maker” as the foundational myth of its faith.
That’s a different thing to think that Solas actively created the Chantry and its perverse Circle system.
Another argument against it: If Solas truly created the Chantry, it would not be so ignorant of how to treat spirits. If you pay attention to all what Solas says about spirits and their nature [Solas sharing Lore: Part 1], all what the Chantry does is exactly the opposite of how to cultivate and protect good spirits without perverting them and how this attitude makes mages more susceptible to possession than in any other culture. Mages are a danger in Thedas because the Chantry treats spirits and mages in a way that keep feeding the terrible ones: pride, rage, hunger, etc while destroys the good ones [if you meet a Wisdom spirt and you truly believe it is a demon, the spirit will try to reflect that belief, destroying its own nature of wisdom].
A bit long, but a nice mixture and combination of topics in one.

It’s the year 1920, and Western society has peaked in fashion, music, wealth, technological advancement and, oddly enough, the paranormal.
Since their early college years, Joey Drew and Henry Stein have harboured an insatiable curiosity for all that is supernatural amongst the ordinary world. Due to The Collision, the world has been anything BUT ordinary, yet many layers of it still remain undiscovered, unscathed.
Together, Joey, Henry and their own band of bizarre paranormal ‘experts’ (use that term sparingly) will unearth the many wonders and secrets of all that is eerie.
After biting off a bit more than they can chew, the group drags themselves into the middle of an active murder investigation. In order to get out of it, the team needs to find answers; only problem is that those answers lay waiting in the afterlife. This admittedly amateur team is gonna need all the help they can get in order to make their way out of this mess, and luckily, their boss knows just the guy.
Important Details
Setting
So first off, this AU takes place in Queens, New York on what I can only describe as a whole other planet earth, not really multiverse style, but I’ll explain. This earth is basically the result of several different dimensions merging into one. As a result, many mythical beings live among humanity (ex; angels, ghouls, demons, sirens, werewolves, fauns). The area this AU takes place in is populated mostly by demons, humans, angels and ghouls. The event that caused this is widely regarded as “The Collision.” The main focus isn’t this event itself, but it’s why this world is what it is. These beings have come into contact with humanity on several occasions throughout history through little blips in the lines between dimensions, this just gave them more permanence on earth. Throughout the world, different landscapes/environments from these overlapping dimensions can be found. The Collision also left three moons in its wake.
Characters
Joey and Henry were high school friends and basically made the “let’s be roomies and start a business together” pact. This friendship was maintained throughout their college years, and with Joey’s already intense interest in the paranormal and a degree in parapsychology, the dream of forming a paranormal business was born. With that, they founded Quantam Paradox Inc. (Joey’s name is 1.5x bigger on the front sign).
The team itself consists of Thomas “Tom” Connor, Allison Pendle, Ruth Felten, Wally Franks, Anya Morozov and Shawn Flynn.
Allison Pendle is a well-practiced psychic
Tom specializes in sound engineering and develops a lot of the team’s recording equipment
Ruth mainly works to analyze all of the evidence that makes its way back to base using forensics
Anya’s main responsibility is to perform research on haunting sites pre-investigation and interview eye witnesses/ individuals involved with said investigation
Both Shawn and Wally work to develop experimental technology for the team to use during investigations
On an actual investigation, Allison, Tom, Ruth and Anya are typically the ones who are on site the others got told to wait in the car ☹️
The phrase “make a deal with the devil” takes on a whole new and more absolute meaning here. Many humans and members of other species make contracts and pacts with members of the demon species. It is possible to form these agreements with angels as well, they’re just much more picky in regards to stipulations; contracts with demons are more popular for this reason. Demons still make rules surrounding their contracts, they just tend to be a little more lenient. Many still fear for their souls, so the majority of these deals are more calm/domestic in nature. However, it would be a lie to say that nobody has used or would use one of these deals for malicious purposes. Most of these deals, malevolent or not, are made in what’s called “The Underworld of New York” (commonly just called the Underworld by citizens and is an area of Queens) in a place known as the Bottle Eater. Just pray that your name doesn’t come up there outside of your awareness.
Now there is one demon that is especially popular when it comes to contract-making, the one they call “The Boogeyman.” Really, it’s the Ink Demon, who goes by Bendy in business affairs. He basically runs the Bottle Eater and resides in the hotel it’s attached to along with many of his other companions. As for the reason why he’s so popular, well, when you hear “ink demon,” you’re not expecting something too scary, right? Most people enter a deal with him because of this; they think he’s less intimidating. Well they sure are wrong. One of these misguided souls is Joey Drew, who was seeking a better understanding of the underworld, a kind of ‘insider’ if you will (because really, his little ghost hunting team were amateurs at most and he needed the upper hand). He got just that, but at what cost? Nobody knows, it’s one of the Ink Demon’s consistent rules: the terms of contracts aren’t to be discussed with anyone outside the contract. Regardless, after the contract was made, Quantum Paradox Inc. became a long-term associate of his. Yes, this is the “guy” that Joey enlists the help of.
Alice resides in the Underworld as well with her two sisters, Nyx and Calliope. All were the result of an angel father and demon mother. These coven members siblings are some of the Underworld’s most prominent entertainment figures. They make for a killer trio, quite literally sometimes.
note: there may be very minor changes to this as the story develops further. ALSO, the ink demon isn’t the antagonist or villain in this AU so sorry if i maybe made it sound like that. he’s more of an anti-hero yk? yeah.
i really hope you guys like this as much as i do and again i am holding out a little cup with “asks please” on it

Status: Complete
Wordcount: 23k
Rating: Mature
Voldemort wins at the final confrontation at the battle of Hogwarts and the remaining survivors from DA and Order scatter and hide in the muggle world. Minerva makes her living as a muggle lecturer at second grade university in the UK.
We get to learn her form the perspective of two muggle colleagues, fellow tutors who are intrigued by the stern women - form her fashion sense, using a walking cane to her unfamiliarity with computers. They keep coming up with the most outrageous theories ranging from medical coma to escaping from long imprisonment. Their interests are peaked once Minerva starts receiving guests - a couple of teenagers claiming to be her grandchildren and an unusual hawk-like woman.
Little is known about Minerva in the canon, and I cherish all fanfiction stories that look beyond the façade of stern authoritarian, give her passion, love interests and backstory. We learn tidbits of information not through exposition but mostly seeing her interactions with others. The introduction of two female original character was a very good storytelling device, especially when one of them is extremely nosy and spends her time prying into Minerva's business. Writing a supporting character in a novelette that gets on the reader's nerves to this extend is a sign of talent.
The final chapter was unfortunately very disappointing and anticlimactic. I think is was meant as a story fading out, but it did not leave me the sense of satisfaction, closure or wondering what is next. Combined with previous plot points which appeared rushed, the story did not keep the same high level through its entirety.
A very good femslash story set in AU where Voldemort wins.

Fashionable pet dad, the subway youth special train "fully loaded" with four orchids is departing!
Released by the Fourth National Congress on June 14, 2023 at 19:43 in Guangdong
picture
Father's love is like orchid, fancy pet father
Father's Day is coming,
Sihui Orchid settled in Guangzhou Metro Line 4,
A train filled with orchid fragrance and love
Driving to Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center,
A youthful and vibrant face
To offer holiday blessings to fathers all over the world.
On June 13, Guangdong Sihui Orchid Metro Youth Special Train with the theme of "Father's Love as Blue, Four Rivers in Love" officially started. The theme design spans four carriages and the whole train, focusing on the "Father's Day exclusive flower" created by Sihui for all fathers, and issuing the call of "Father's Day, remember to send Sihui Orchid to Dad". On the train doors and windows, the four orchids of butterfly orchids, hybrid orchids, and other varieties complement each other, and the silhouette of the father and child gazing at each other exudes warmth, attracting many waiting passengers to stop.
picture
Xiao Xie, a sophomore, returned to school part-time, and happened to take the youth special train of Guangdong Sihui Orchid Subway. She was worried about gifts for Father's Day, and when she saw the Sihui Orchid on the window, she immediately got inspiration. I have given my father many gifts, but I am worried that there will be no new designs this year. Using orchids as a holiday gift is meaningful and innovative! "Xiao Xie took a photo of the QR code of Sihui Orchid online shopping and carefully selected the orchids. A student who is studying alone in a foreign land chooses to send his father a pot of orchids as a way to miss him.
picture
Sihui is the largest orchid planting base in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Orchid planting has a long history. The "Linghai Lanyan" written by District Jince in the Qing Dynasty wrote: "In the past, Sihui Supu, the garden of Jianggui, was the most popular orchid." In 2004, patriotic Taiwanese businessman Chen Mingxing set up an orchid planting base in Shigou Town, Sihui City, opening the origin of Sihui orchid planting.
On the car window, the Father's Day exclusive flower "Father's orchid · Qitian Sage" independently developed by Sihui City is the most eye-catching. The 'Qi Tian Da Sheng' belongs to the butterfly Wen Xin Lan, named after its resemblance to the image of Sun Wukong, symbolizing the omnipotent existence of the father. The subway sped by, as if carrying a faint fragrance of orchids. Uncle Zhang is a retired Chinese teacher. When he came home from morning exercises, he saw orchids "blooming" in the carriage. He sighed: "Confucius said that Zhilan came into the house, and sending orchids on Father's Day has cultural connotations, which is worth praising."
picture
In 2022, Sihui Orchid will focus on the marketing hot spot of Father's Day, creatively put forward the concept of "father's love is like orchid", change the off-season of orchid sales in June to the peak season, launch regional characteristic industrial brands, and drive flower farmers to increase income and become rich. According to statistics, in 2022, the sales of Sihui orchids increased three times year-on-year, with a unit price increase of nearly 50%. Nowadays, Sihui has 62 orchid enterprises, with over 230 varieties in four major series: Molan, Jianlan, Hybrid Orchid, and Phalaenopsis Orchid.
picture
This year, Sihui continued to carry out a series of orchid marketing activities, such as inviting celebrities in various fields to play CALL for Sihui City orchids, organizing young singers to express their father's love with songs in the column of "Father's love is like orchid", holding the "In the name of love, give your father orchids" cultural week of Guangdong Sihui City "Father's love is like orchid", and creating a festive atmosphere of "giving orchids on Father's Day". Guangdong Sihui Orchid Subway Youth Special Train closely follows the promotion pace of the "Father's Love Like Orchid" Cultural Week, and uses diverse and innovative promotion methods to show young people the openness of the construction of the "12221" market system for Guangdong agricultural products. It is understood that this "father's love is like orchids, and four rivers are in love" subway youth special train of Sihui Orchid in Guangdong will continue to operate for 28 days. With the help of subway network coverage, the publicity scope of Sihui Orchid will be expanded, the exposure frequency will be increased, and consumers' impression of "sending Sihui Orchid to Dad on Father's Day" will be further deepened.

SOUKOKU HOGWARTS AU
Chuuya Nakahara
Gryffindor but the Hat very nearly sent him to Hufflepuff (Chuuya overheard someone in the train say that Hufflepuff is a house for ppl who aren't special and he tried to change the Sorting Hat's decision bcs he wants to look cool lmao)
He's good at Defense but someone constantly needs to remind him to use his wand, not his fists.
He doesn't care about his grades, until he met Dazai and suddenly everything became a competition.
He's got a black cat named Arahabaki and he's a little demon (Baki hates Dazai and thats why Chuuya loves him)
His rivalry with Dazai is widespread and professors have to keep them away from each other to avoid stirring fights.
He doesn't give a shit about house rivalry because Kouyou is a Slytherin, he'll beat up anyone who annoys him no matter their house.
Chuuya is a half-blood
Chuuya's housemates are confused with his relationship with Dazai; they say they hate each other but most times, you'll find them hanging out even in their free time. (this is mostly bcs of Dazai who goes out of his way to find Chuuya and annoy him and suddenly they spent the whole day together)
He's amazing in Quidditch, and has a talent for Charms. He later becomes the Captain.
Tachihara, a gryffindor and his teammate, is Chuuya's best friend (I LOVE THEIR RELATIONSHIP DONT @ me)
Nobody mentions his height. NOBODY.
Dazai Osamu
Before the Sorting Hat could fully reach his head, it screamed "Slytherin!" almost immediately.
Dazai hates green, and complains about how the colors don't match his fashion sense
Dazai's background remains a mystery to everyone. He has qualities that make up a high-class pureblood and his clothes are all tailored expensively, and yet no one knows who the fuck he is or where he came from. When someone asks, he bullshits his answer every time.
In big parties, people has seen Dazai interact with Mori Ougai (the Minister of Magic) in multiple occasions and people suspect that he might be Mori's ward or son he's kept hidden all this time.
Dazai mostly fools around, doesn't take anything too seriously and yet his housemates are fucking terrified of him. Students from other houses don't understand the fear considering they only see him as a "goofy" slacker.
Dazai isnt friends with anyone in his house, and if he isn't seen with Chuuya, he's with Oda, a Hufflepuff student who's two years older than him. They have an inseparable friendship and Dazai grows to respect him.
Oda is the only person Dazai is willing to listen to.
In potion making, Dazai is kept in a seperate table, alone, where he just sits there, not doing anything until all of the students finished with theirs. He's only allowed to do his potion when he has a supervisor watching him bcs he's drank or exploded his cauldron so many times that he's a safety hazard to his classmates and himself.
He's shit at Potions and following basic instructions.
He could score all of his subjects perfect, but he doesn't want to.
Yes, Dazai threw himself into the Black Lake. And jumped from the Gryffindor tower. And broke curfew to explore in the Forbidden Forest where he met a giant spider. And drank a highly dangerous potion before getting disappointed that he grabbed the wrong one. And—
Dazai broke every rule there is and somehow, for some ungodly reason, he isn't expelled yet.
Once a slytherin student was curious about what's under Dazai's bandages and snuck in his room to peak while he was dressing. He never came back the same again.
Professors rarely call Dazai out for recitation, because he'd always add an unnecessary comment and most of the times its directed to Chuuya and given the redhead's fiery attitude, Chuuya responds back and Dazai eggs him on until it ends with an inevitable brawl.
Someone spread rumors about Dazai had killed someone in the past; the fact that Dazai can see Thestrals and never denied anything doesn't help at all.
Dazai is incapable of producing a Patronus.
MORE SOUKOKU:
Chuuya knows something about Dazai's past considering when they first met, there was an instant resentment and familiarity. These two clearly had history together before they attended Hogwarts.
Dazai's grades are higher than average, but not like impressive. The only time he's ever shown a bit of seriousness in his grades is when Chuuya challenged him, and suddenly, his grades are all O's (except for his Potions LMAO). Chuuya loses.
No one's sure what the losing punishment is but Dazai now calls Chuuya his "dog" and Chuuya's face explodes into color but interestingly, the redhead doesn't oblige.
Dazai bemoans about the Quidditch matches as tacky and boring but he never shows up late when Gryffindor's team is playing.
Chuuya's Patronus turns out to be a dog and he threatens bodily harm on anyone who'd tell on Dazai. Everyone wants to keep their heads so they agreed to keep their mouths shut.
When Oda graduated on his last year, Chuuya and Dazai's relationship changes. They still argue, still claim to hate each other, but they appear closer.
Dazai becomes touchy and Chuuya doesn't brush it off like he used to. Their arguments are less heated, and more playful banter.
"We're not dating!" a voice booms at the gryffindor table once, when heads are turn to Chuuya, his face is all red and Tachihara seems tired about something.
A ravenclaw student sent a love letter to Chuuya, and a week later, a Troll invaded the girl's dorm (no one knows how it even got in) and she nearly got stuck with it. In the same week, someone pointed out marks on Chuuya's neck
"It's a mosquito," Chuuya answers venomously. "An overgrown, annoying mosquito."
Dazai seems to find his answer so hilarious.
