shout out to the person who ate my last rock au post like a snake i made four more
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
aheemheem lore under the cut
ranboo as a snowflake obsidian is obvious, we never had a choice fr. i like to imagine that snowflake obsidians are very rare(having incredible terrakinesis abilities in a society of rock people is not something that should come in large numbers) so when he just randomly appeared on the rebel planet it was quite a shock. he literally came out of nowhere and doesnt even remember his own origins and not even the most historically inclined of them can figure out what those red and green insignias are.
for some reason i was REARING to add sam as SOON as possible so hes a mossy agate. he was assigned to a newer colony close to the lmanburg planet(name still pending) and was in charge of overseeing the construction of important structures; he grew very fond of the building and aided his workers a little more than he was probably allowed but nobody really stopped him. he worked alongside bad(black opal), antfrost(tigers eye), and ponk(clinohumite) and we will get to them. eventually. because of his proximity to the rebels, he'd grown pretty attached to that silly little rutile and offered him protection if ever he needed it. he never fully removes himself from homeworld, he doesnt really have a reason to, but he does offer help from behind the scenes on occasion. he still builds for them, particularly the prison which is sort of like the human zoo in canon in that it is a station floating around up there as opposed to being on a planet. also sam nook is his pearl that he asks to go check on tommy and hang out with him when he cant be there in person
i am going to be so incredibly honest i dont think ive written down any quackity lore i just really wanted to draw him. i think he was just pretty chill doing stuff for homeworld but then he heard about these rebels and was like. uhm bye i wanna know whats going on over there. i feel like his lore is so well understood and hes an established canon gem type so i dont have to do a lot of work for him hes already the perfect boy
as stated before, tubbo is a nephrite who had a lot of time to hang out with tommy before they all ran off to lmanplanet. he worked one station above tommy, but he wasnt a captain. i dont have much written for tubbo either, but it is safe to say that snowchester is on the moon and the fur is completely cosmetic.
These little character bits are mostly backstory unfortunately Tubbo and Quackity's lore happens on screen so I don't have much for them
I would love to explore their arcs in this au tho but y'all gotta wait

I've been so tuned out of spn and spn fandom happenings, I didn't even learn until just now that some weeks back Jared said at a CE con that he wishes they'd done more with Eileen.
Now I'm laughing. The unintentional comedy stylings of Jared P*d*l*cki, everyone!
Not even mad, tbh. Just remembering his disregard for the character and the Sam/Eileen relationship. How he made comments speaking for Dean pov in a way that flatly contradicted every statement Dean himself ever made rooting for Sam and Eileen, but canon, what's that? Dean who? Dean's actual self-evident hopes, the fact that Dean was the #1 Saileen shipper, totally irrelevant when brosonlies are in a panic about Sam or Dean having anyone, anyone at all, anyone whatsoever, besides only each other.
Watching them scramble frantically a few weeks back when Jared dropped this wish for more Eileen to deny that more Sam/Eileen relationship stuff is even possible also greatly amuses me. "Jared only meant Eileen not Sam/Eileen!!!" lmfao okay?? Breathe!!! LOL
I really loved Saileen but I'll be glad either way just to get Eileen back, while the brosonly Sam stans will be screeching with rage because "spn is only about Sam and Dean not SIDE CHARACTERS *raeg raeg*" after they performatively virtue signaled about how much they love Eileen so long as she doesn't get her icky gross cooties breathing too close to Sam.
They also kept slamming all the Saileen shippers, going on and on how anyone who shipped Saileen was only doing it as part of some nefarious plot to keep Sam away from Dean and no other reason. Meanwhile, the Sam and Eileen dynamic was absolutely delightful, it's one of the best relationships Sam ever had, Jared and Shoshannah had lovely chemistry, I enjoyed every Sam and and Eileen moment. Wow yes how monstrous of me, I enjoyed seeing Sam with a layered, good-hearted human who worked well with him and cared about him and they related to each other and they were good together!! What in the evil Sam hatred!!! LMFAO
Anyone who was on twitter at the time may also remember how they spewed hatred against the ship, gatekeeping, romance shaming, and spewing no-romo and anti-romo hatred, because Eileen somehow would no longer count as a badass female character if she's having sex with Sam, and then they tried to dress their ship hate up as progressive because of how it would supposedly "demean" Eileen.
All of which went in full contradiction of the statements of Shoshannah Stern, a deaf actor playing a deaf character, who spoke in interviews at length about how important it was not only that Eileen was a kickass hunter but why it was significant having a disabled character in a romance with one of the lead heroes on a notable genre tv series.
Meanwhile, the Sam stan twitter brigade pretending to be progressive: "ew icky gross"
As for Jared, yeah, this is just COMEDY. He wasn't supportive, now suddenly he's talking about how he's sorry there wasn't more Eileen. Okay, dude.
He also said he was sorry there wasn't more Michael Dean and same thing. Where was he when Jensen needed support, when that storyline was cut off, and when the ending screwed Dean over while Jared got what he wanted, and when most of his base which pretty much hates everyone who isn't Sam and Dean, got what they wanted.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be thrilled if we can have Eileen back in the revival. I don't know if this means we will or not. But I'm all for it. Yes please let's!!! I just don't think there's substance behind Jared changing his tune. And he did nothing to discourage the hatred from his own base against her and against the ship, and then eagerly went along with how the final eps of spn pandered to their desire for her character and that relationship to be wiped from the story.

so i know we just have to accept certain retcons, but the big one that bugs me is yellow eyes's plan for sam and how it doesn't fit with all the vessel stuff. how do YOU make that work in your head?
hallo hallo anon, you have hit on one of the Great Big Bugaboos of spn canon and also the #1 evidence we have to throw in the face all those goofs who uncritically repeat the "Kripke had a 5 year plan!" factoid. He clearly did not, he was flying by the seat of his pants, and while he managed to put stuff together in a fun way the pants are Not Coherent.
Nevertheless, we can make it work, and the way we make it work is that the various members of the angelic and especially demonic hierarchies do not have complete information. Let's do a rough timeline:
In the beginning Chuck created the universe. This is widely regarded as a bad move.
Then, you know, handwaving on him setting up some version of a 'destiny' story arc which will inevitably end in his two sons fighting to the death, via characters he'll create called The Winchesters.
After inventing demons and being a real jerkface, Lucifer ends up in the cage.
In the 70s or whatever, Azazel goes to Ilchester to butcher a bunch of nuns and talk to daddy Lucifer -- Lucifer says "you have to help get Lilith out of her pit so that the seals on my cage can get broken." Azazel says, "But how, Evil Daddy?" Lucifer says, "This really special child." -- HERE IS WHERE THE RETCON APPEARS TO HAVE HAPPENED, BUT WE CAN WORK WITH IT
Sam Winchester is fated in the demonic archives among the true higher-ups, but lower-level demons don't necessarily know about him and his importance.
Azazel starts seeding the earth with special babies. COMPLETE CONJECTURE TO FOLLOW: While he knows that Sam is the one who will be Lucifer's vessel, he also knows that a series of events will need to occur so that Lucifer will get out of the cage to take his vessel in the first place. The first seal is the most important: a righteous man must shed blood in hell. How do we get that to happen? CONJECTURE TWO: I think that Dean must be the Righteous Man because of his place within the tripartite celestial structure: God-Michael-Lucifer mirroring John-Dean-Sam. I do not think that John could have ever actually been the one to 'spill blood' that would allow the first seal to break. (Ethical conjecture three: perhaps it's the weakness itself which has its own kind of righteousness? John's implacable; Dean is not.) CONJECTURE UHH FOUR I GUESS: Azazel is designing an elaborate scheme to ensure that Sam will die on a particular day (maybe bc it works well for opening the door to hell?) specifically to ensure that Dean will sell his soul to bring Sam back, and thereby doom himself to the hell where he will break the first seal.
This should be 6b but tumblr doesn't work this way: now, would it be a hell of a fucking lot easier for Azazel to just ensure Sam dies somehow? Yeah. But given everything we know about him and the dorky-ass demons who hang out in s1 and s2, Azazel is clearly a dramallama and does stuff for the lulz. Plus, I think there's an element of 'proving' to Sam how much destiny has a hold on him, because that is so important for his grooming into saying yes to Lucifer. If he was just hit by a car or something it doesn't have the same effect than if he's part of the emo hunger games.
Sam dies; Dean sells his soul; Sam lives, and wants to save Dean. But of course, he can't save Dean, because Dean *must* go to hell to ensure the first seal is broken. This is why the angels don't help Sam at all, and why Ruby is allowed to run around with impunity. Happily the writer's strike intervened and gave us a miserable fucking s3 finale where that happened, because that is WAY more interesting than Hero Sammy Saving The Day.
Ruby has been getting instructions from Lilith the entire time, presumably since she became a demon herself, and gets launched literally as soon as Azazel is out of the way to continue the Sam-grooming.
CONJECTURE FIVE(?): Azazel and Lilith fucking hated each other, lol. But it's Lilith who's the *actually* important demon, so she wins and Azazel gets sacrificed for being really bad at teaching drama.
It's not actually that complicated, but you do have to take "the special kids were just sacrifices on the altar of let's see what we can get Sam to do" as a given. If Sam had actually started killing all of them, that'd be one thing, and Azazel could have turned that to his favor before maybe having Ava stab Sam in the back regardless. (Then, a Special Kid will go and open the devil's gate for him anyway, so the demons can get out there and start their important seal-breaking prep.) Since Sam was being such a Good Guy -- well, so what, Ava will kill all the rest of them, and then either her or Jake will get turned easy-peasy and kill Sam too. Dean will make his deal either way, and the apocalypse is off with a bang. Or a sick crunching of knife into bone.
Anyway, that's my theory. It fits alongside my ironclad theory that all of history and fate and destiny was leading toward two brothers standing in front of each other in a cemetery, and the only real free will starting once Dean could choose what to do when Sam-as-Lucifer stood in front of him, and what he chose was to be there for his brother. Thereby giving Sam a solid space to grasp and overcome Lucifer, and then save all the days. The Righteous Man who begins it is the only one who can end it, as they say.

Me: Okay brain, it's about time we figure out some of the early scenes for A Snake in Horseland
Brain: Squid Time Mothafucka!
Anyway...
AU where "If Mario Was in... Splatoon" and subsequent Splatoon-related episodes were more faithful to Splatoon Canon (and also Agent 3 was Meggy's younger sibling)
Now, obviously not everything in Splatoon's lore is compatible with SMG4, most notably the whole "post-apocalyptic Earth where mammals are extinct" thing, but a lot of it is, and the stuff that isn't can still be addressed thanks to Retroactive SMG4 Lore Knowledge.
First off for the changes, obvious detail out of the way; the annual tournament Meggy was so fixated on until the end of "Meggy's Destiny" is going back to being called the Turf War Tournament like it was in the original episode because Splatfests are their Own Thing, and the fact that they're their Own Thing is really important for the story of Splatoon 2.
Next, "If Mario Was in Splatoon" came out a week before Splatoon 2, which for the sake of this AU means it takes place literal days before the disappearances of Callie and the Great Zapfish. It also means that this version of the episode happens in Inkopolis Square instead of Inkopolis Plaza, and Off the Hook are the ones to tell Mario about the tournament instead of the Squid Sisters.
(This bit doesn't have to do with canon adherence, but I'll also be taking the opportunity to actually flesh out Sam, Kenji and Heavy Squid as characters since I don't have youtube runtime limits or the effort of animating to worry about. Yes, the two Inkling Boys on the original Splat Squad apparently have canon names. Go figure.)
Because of the time frame, Cuttlefish and Three are already on the recon mission that gets them and Eight stuck in the Deepsea Metro while the episode is happening, and it would realistically take time to go through the tests and collect the Thangs, so it's a few months before Meggy gets to introduce her sibling to her new friends from out of town.
I haven't really worked out much beyond that (at least story-wise. I have figured out the directions I want to take the characters of the Splat Squad and Canon Splatoon Characters, but that's for another post), except that Meggy isn't aware that her sibling is Agent 3 until the Anime Island part of the Anime Arc. I figure the NSS would absolutely get involved in this continuity, both because protecting the people of Inkopolis is literally their job and because of Meggy and Marie being among those abducted by Francis.

Hi! I really hope this is not that stupid to ask, but I've been reading your posts and I noticed I don't know a lot about cDream's more recent lore, but I'm not sure how to learn. The only povs I watched were Tommy's, Wilbur's and Techno's, so I don't even know how Dream's pov worked. All the streams I found about his lore aren't even his, like did he stream on his account at all? If so, where are the vods?? Or is his lore actually just what we see in other people's streams?
I know pretty much everything until the prison arc, from this arc and on I just know the general of what happened. If you have any advice on where or how I could learn more about his lore from this arc and on, I'd be very grateful. Oh, and you also talk about scrapped lore sometimes. What exactly is that?
Not stupid at all, you’ve come to the right place! Dream’s lore was pretty much entirely streamed from other people’s perspectives, which is what makes it so difficult to keep track of. The only “proper” lore he did himself was a short video on his DreamXD youtube channel (which, unhelpfully, has nothing to do with the DreamXD character) that briefly shows some of the stuff he was doing with Punz before the prison arc. I've linked it below.
This is actually amazing timing because I just recently made a bunch of youtube playlists compiling Dream’s lore! If you watched Tommy then I’m assuming you’ve already seen the disc war finale stream—I have a prison arc playlist that picks up straight after this point and should cover everything until Dream’s escape. After that, I have a post-prison playlist, but it gets a little tricky to compile because Dream would often only appear for brief and random moments in other people’s hours-long streams. I’ll try to link you the most important vods and timestamps below.
Also, the scrapped lore is something that Dream talked about in a twitter space after the Las Nevadas finale stream, which is most of the information we have about it. Essentially, it was a piece of lore that Dream, Sam and Quackity were going to record for Dream’s youtube channel, similar to the other DreamXD lore video, but the plans fell through, hence some people consider it semi-canon and others don’t. Here's the twitter space (40:20 to 46:50). I don’t know if you care about spoilers, but if you don’t want to see the summary, skip the next paragraph.
The premise would’ve been that sometime after the prison break, c!Dream is walking through the SMP when he notices that the flag outside c!Punz’s base has changed—a signal between him and c!Dream to investigate. c!Dream goes in and finds a note from c!Punz containing coordinates to c!Quackity, who c!Dream is currently seeking revenge on following the prison arc. But when c!Dream goes to the coordinates, he finds that it’s a trap, and that c!Quackity has built a prison cell in Las Nevadas that’s an exact replica of his cell in Pandora’s Vault, which stuns c!Dream enough for c!Quackity to throw potions at him and knock him out. c!Dream wakes up bound and itemless, and hears c!Quackity telling c!Sam that they should just kill c!Dream and be done with it, revival book be damned. c!Quackity leaves to find the pickaxe that c!Dream previously killed c!Sam with so that he can then kill c!Dream with it, and in this time, c!Dream starts trying to convince c!Sam to let him go so that c!Quackity doesn’t kill him (there's more detail on that in the clip). The camera would then cut to c!Quackity rounding the corner with the pickaxe, only to see c!Sam alone in the room, implying that c!Sam actually did let c!Dream go. c!Dream runs away from Las Nevadas in a panic, and he takes shelter in a cave, where he suddenly hears c!Wilbur say “Why are we hiding?” from behind him. And that’s it! That’s the scrapped lore!
So, if you’re looking for an order to watch stuff in:
DreamXD youtube video
Prison arc playlist (I’d say watch all of this, except for maybe Ponk’s visit and Sam hiring the guards — just search for the moments in vods that look like they’re set inside the prison lol)
Post-prison playlist (look below for which parts to watch)
What to watch from the post-prison playlist, in order (timestamps are when Dream is onscreen):
“Jailbreak” (Techno) - 55:45 to 1:20:20
“Punz’s lore stream” (Punz) - 1:12:15 to the end
“Dream escapes prison” (Tommy) - 5:50 to 14:20
“Late thanksgiving stream” (Sapnap) - 1:34:55 to 1:44:30
“Awesamdude lore vod” (Sam) - Watch all 4 of these Sam streams that are grouped together, in full (This is (most of) the daedalus arc!)
“Dream twitter space” (Dream) - 40:20 to 46:50 (This is the scrapped lore!)
“Inconsolable differences” (Wilbur) - 42:30 to the end
“Foolish vod” (Foolish) - 5:18:25 to 6:07:35
“The end of Las Nevadas” (Quackity) - You might as well watch the whole stream, great stream :)
“Dream shares unreleased lore script” (Dream) - If you ever hear people talking about the “snake speech,” this is it!
And then watch all the Tommy vods at the end!
Sorry, I feel like I’ve just given you homework kjshdgfkhjsd, I get a little carried away sometimes. But that should be a good starting point! You absolutely do not have to watch all of that, I just wanted to be thorough. I just think that nothing beats the original vods in terms of getting an unbiased viewpoint. I can always give timestamps for the prison arc playlist as well, if it’s confusing.
I hope that wasn’t too overwhelming… Let me know if you need anything else!

okay so I know I said I’d have a post for Monday but stuff happened (nothing bad don’t worry) so this is late and also not what I had planned. but it’s something at least while I’m working on drawing and trying to actually finish a drawing for once in my life
anyways without further ado: more Voltron dragon prince AU shenanigans because that is still very much a thing that I want to do and am going to at least have some “official” art done for at some point in the year.
I only have an idea for Shiro’s design right now, but I have so much more to talk about in this post.
Tumblr media
Shiro doesn’t really have a direct parallel to anyone in the dragon prince, but he’s still important (obviously) and he still goes missing. I can’t really say too much about him because of story and plot reasons but there is gonna be Cool Stuff happening. I decided to make him a moon shadow elf because it makes the most sense, and also I just thought he would look cool as one. He’s still engaged to Adam, and he still goes missing with Sam and Matt Holt.
That’s all I can say about Shiro for now, but I still have other characters to talk about.
Adam is going to be playing an active role in this because I want him to and also he won’t fucking die because I think he should live. As a treat.
In this AU, Adam is human. A huge part of his whole deal is that he will be looking for a Shiro and Keith alone because they’re the two most important people in his life and he wants to find them.
Also, Adam and Shiro’s relationship is secret, only Keith knows that they’re together and that’s a huge motivation as to why Adam goes searching for them alone since he’s kinda trapped since he can’t exactly go out and get help finding Shiro and Keith. Anyways, that’s enough about those two, let’s get on to everyone else I’m talking about today
I’m just going to make a quick bullet point list of characters I don’t have much to say on in this post but I still wanna say what their deal is in the AU:
Coran is going to be Opeli (the like, advisor in TDP). He’s the royal adviser, but he also helped raised Lance and Allura. I don’t really have much to say about him other than he will still very much be himself and I love him
Matt is a scholar or something of that type along with his father, and they meet Shiro while doing research and end up befriending him (thank you Aeon for this suggestion your brain is great)
Romelle is going to be the equivalent of Ellis (the kid with the wolf). Also trans Romelle because I am a trans Romelle truther
Veronica is going to be this AUs Amaya but not going to be exactly like her (also, please let me know if you guys think that I should make Veronica deaf like Amaya since I would like having a deaf character in this but idk if it should be her or another side character that would most likely be an OC)
Krolia is going to be missing/MIA
The BoM are going to be the moonshadow elf assassins, but without the whole knowledge or death deal since. I just don’t want them to have that and it’s my AU I get to do what I want
Honerva is dead lol
Zarkon will be Viren
Ezor, Zethrid, Narti and Axca are still Lotor’s Lesbians and I have Several Ideas for them
I still have a lot that I wanna do, like learn how to draw dragons because Whoops I made an AU that has dragons and a lot of them but I don’t know how to draw them, and I have a lot to talk about when it comes to certain decisions I made for this, like Zarkon and Honerva and some things I have in mind for them. This is probably going to be a project that will take a long time to even officially get started because I don’t know how to write but I so desperately want to tell the story I have in mind and have it be enjoyable.
I’ll make another post soon with more in-depth descriptions and ideas for Zarkon, along with something I like to call the “kill-die scale” and also some ideas I am still struggling with
Also as always, thank you to @deuxaeonn for the help, your brain is so good and ik this hasn’t been worked on for a while but still lmao

Pinky promise?
Headcanons on pinky-promises bc i saw a post on pinterest and thought of Ash and then wanted to write about him but it kinda spiraled lol
——————————————————
Asher is the type of guy to put lots of worth on pinky-promises. they are important and serious and are to be kept in high regards and respected.
“No dAviD. i cannot tell you! i pinky-promised so to Birdy (Angel).” afterwards walking away upset and mumbling about how dare David tell him it’s childish and that he should know about that. if he should know then he should ask Birdy himself to find out bc Ash sure as hell isn’t gonna break a pinky-promise.
Angel also takes pinky-promises very seriously. the first time they made David pinky-promise them something he was like “oh god, not another one” (don’t be fooled tho, he secretly loves that the two do them). he started making Angel pinky-promise him to do things, like eat actual food and not just store bought ramen and pop tarts while he is working a job that has him be away for a few days because he noticed that Angel will take those more serious then when they just normally say they will do it or promise normally. When Angel told Ash that David had them make a pinky-promise after he did for the first time Ash went wild, next time he sees David he’s being a petty lil shit (affectionately) “how am I being childish when making you pinky-promise something but you can just do it no problem, huh?? talk about having double standards! or are you exempt from being childish as the packs alpha? hmm?”
Baaabe totally does pinky-promises with Ash and Angel all the time! they also make others do them but not nearly as often as Angel does. obviously they also put a lot of respect on pinky-promises. they usually tend to make them for more “important” stuff like secrets or something but Asher will make them do pinky-promises over the most bullshit things like that they will actually eat what Ash picks for dinner and don’t change it last minute or something.
the first time Ash or Angel make Darlin’ do a pinky-promise they have the most confused expression on their face, not understanding why the other is holding their hand up like that and when Ash/Angel says “Pinky-promise it!!” in their typical bubbly way, Darlin’ will let out an annoyed breath and role their eyes but then do it anyways, they are fooling no one since you can see the corner of their lips tugging up. Darlin’ will hold pinky-promises they’ve made in high regards and take them very seriously but they won’t make anyone else do one (apart maybe from Sammy-boy but that would only happen like once in a blue moon) (also i am of the firm believe that both Angel and Asher see Darlin as a really close friend)
Milo think it’s funny when Angel or Ash make him pinky-promise something and he’ll usually do it so they’re happy and he will definitely respect it bc a promise is a promise. he usually won’t make other people pinky-promise him something.
Sweetheart thinks it’s cute when Angel makes them do a pinky-promise, they’ll gladly agree to one but usually won’t make anyone do one, except maybe Ash and Angel themselves and even though this started as more of a joke to Sweetheart it is more serious to them now when they make one of the other two do a pinky-promise. but they always respected the promises.
Sam is confused the first time Angel makes him pinky-promise something (i hc that they made him pinky-promise to take good care of Darlin’ at some pack event/party thingy. (Darlin means a lot to Angel and they want to include Sam as best as possible and fully support/defend their relationship after seeing how happy they make each other, fight me) as if he wouldn’t anyways). he obviously does the pinky-promise, puts a lot of worth and respect on it.
——————————————————
author note: i have never ever used the words pinky-promise quite this much and there were moments where i started to question the existence/spelling of the words… also i might do other characters if i feel the inspiration for it lol anyways this is the first time i post anything like this so i hope y’all enjoyed it! :)

Hii, I'm not sure if you answer anons but I've just found your blog as I was looking for iwtv blogs :) I've not read the books and only just watched first four episodes of season 1 but really love watching Lestat and Louis together. I have read they're endgame (I hope they are as so far as I do love seeing them together). I just wondered (if you've read the books and apologies for my book innocence) 😂🤦‍♀️ but is S1 a make the most of it seeing the guys together as in future seasons they'll mostly be separated and with others as I assume the books show? And I hope both actors will hopefully come back in future seasons to see the characters as endgame? 🤔🤞
hi there! sorry for the late reply, I have not been online as much lately. I will preface this that I have 1) watched all of season 1 of iwtv an embarrassing amount of times (in the 15+ times range) and 2) have read all 13 books and 3) keep up, pretty religiously, with what the showrunners and cast are saying about the characters and plot and whatnot.
so -- and of course this is my speculation based on all the above -- I think louis and lestat will be separated in the show to a point, but i don't think it's going to be for very long. i think we will see them reunite and i think they will, for the most part, stay united. here's why i'm assuming this:
general book stuff: so as you haven't read the books, here's a general gist re: louis and lestat. lestat becomes the "main character" of the vampire chronicles with louis appearing less and less and less in the series, up until (honestly) the last handful of books where he and lestat seem to connect in a way they just. hadn't in the past, and they become each other's everything and become such an established endgame. we can get into the logistics of why (if anyone ever wants to ramble about louis-is-anne-and-anne-had-issues-with-herself, just hit me up), but yeah. that's what happens.
show: the show has -- as I'm sure you've seen -- deviated from the books in many ways. i, personally, love every change. the heart of the vampire chronicles is so there, so vivid, and the characters' personalities are still so very them. but the plot has changed in many ways, leaving even book fans up in the air as to what might be happening or what will happen.
as the show has already given us more of a play-by-play of louis and lestat's early romance (something never given to us in the books as we only get louis' anger at lestat), it is setting us, as an audience, up for this: no matter where the show goes, louis and lestat as a couple are going to be incredibly important to the plot because you don't base an entire introductory season around a relationship without making it relevant to the remainder of the show.
there's also the way television works vs. books. everyone can say whatever they want, but the vampire chronicles -- as they are written -- would not do well on television because television audiences get attached to love stories where the vampire chronicles have too many relationships-not-relationships going on. sure, dedicated rice fans would watch an exact adaptation, but that's not how you keep shows on television; you need more people.
audiences are clearly infatuated with sam and jacob's portrayal of lestat and louis' relationship. the ship is huge, the chemistry between the actors is huge, and iwtv, if smart (and i think they are), will capitalize on that. people will watch all of season 4 (whatever season 4 may be) just to watch louis checking to see if lestat is okay after akasha or just to watch lestat cradle louis' face in an intense planning situation, etc.
i very much see sam and jacob being attached to this project as long as the project lasts and i very much see lestat and louis being together and together and together much more in this than in the books. their love story will be the ultimate selling point.

Creddie fans rejoice! Miranda Cosgrove dishes on the iCarly couple finally getting together
Cosgrove tells EW about Carly and Freddie's improvised kiss scene, why she always wanted them to be the endgame, and teases "a big question" that'll be answered in the season finale.
By Calie ScheppJune 08, 2023 at 02:17 PM EDT
Warning: This article contains spoilers for iCarly (2021), season 3, episode 3, "iMake New Memories."
Wake up the members of Creddie nation, it's your time to be!
On Thursday's episode of iCarly, on-again, off-again besties Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) and Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress) finally confessed their feelings for each other. Granted, Freddie's made his intentions clear since the first episode of the original 2007 Nickelodeon series, but for Carly it's been a long and storied trek to realize she felt the same.
"It's taken 15 years for them to finally get together," Cosgrove tells EW. "I think that it makes a lot of sense for both of the characters. And if it were real life, I could see it actually taking this long because it feels like every time one of them likes the other, it's not the right moment or it's not for the right reason, and now it finally is."
In "iMake New Memories," out now on Paramount+, the two take a sweet walk down memory lane, looking through pictures from their decade-and-a-half-long friendship. Fittingly it's in the place where it all began, the studio in Spencer's apartment where the duo film Carly's popular web series. Before going in for not one, but two kisses, Freddie asks, "Is this really happening?" Carly replies, "I hope so." He recites his signature countdown before planting another smooch, which Cosgrove says was completely improvised.
"It wasn't in the script at all," she explains. "We did it in one take the very last time and we were both really unsure about it. Some of the writers came over and they were like, 'We have this idea, it might be too much, but just give it a shot for one take.' And so many times we do things and it doesn't end up on the show or we'll improvise. So you never know what's gonna end up in there. That's what makes it fun and exciting. When we were filming the scene, we were both like, we don't know if this is gonna work, but we'll try it. And it ended up being the last line of the episode."
Like the revival series as a whole, the moment embraces a more mature approach to the material than you'd find on the original iCarly. Cosgrove says this is necessary when telling the story of childhood friends who are navigating a new chapter of their lives as adults. In the series, Freddie has been married twice and has a step-daughter named Millicent, played by Jaidyn Triplett.
"This season, we dove into more serious stuff than we usually do on the show, while also trying to keep just the weird randomness of the original show," says Cosgrove. "Sometimes it's a little bit of a challenge just finding the perfect balance. I think because it's iCarly, heavy for us is still not very heavy."
Cosgrove understands the importance of doing Creddie justice, since fans have been waiting years for the relationship to bloom. She compares their friends-to-lovers journey to Lizzie and Gordo from the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire.
"When I was little, I always wanted Gordo with Lizzie," she says. "I think a part of me always hoped that Freddie and Carly would end up together just because it's so romantic, the idea of knowing somebody ever since you were young, being best friends, kind of going back and forth liking each other, but the timing always being off. I'm excited for the people that do ship them and want them together. They waited 15 years, I'm excited for them to finally get what they've been waiting for and I hope that it lives up to their expectations."
Creddie fever aside, Seddie shippers (iCarly fans who shipped Jennette McCurdy's Sam and Freddie) are still very active online. While Sam and Freddie's love/hate relationship ended with the original series, Cosgrove says she understands where the Seddie shippers are coming from.
"There were times, as the character Carly, when we were filming the original show, I thought that they should be together on the show. I love the idea of people that always butt heads, that don't really get along and are always calling each other out, falling in love. They do love each other on the show as people and they were a good couple when they were on the original series. I think if Freddy had ended up with Sam it would've been a really good ending as well."But alas, Freddie ends up with Carly, a match made in webcast heaven.
As for the rest of season three, Cosgrove promises more big moments for Creddie and teases an episode centered around a cat rescue that features around 50 cats. Plus, a shocking finale. "The finale episode we touch on something that has kind of been a big question that people have asked throughout the whole series and has never really had an answer to," she says.
Fans of the original series will remember when Freddie jumped in front of a speeding taco truck to save Carly. She kissed him shortly after, suggesting that they date, but he worried she only liked him for his heroism. In "iMake New Memories" Carly professes her 'like' to her longtime friend. "Freddie, you're still my hero, you're the person who I can always count on.

I read so much of the brother multiverse and I wonder want are all of the borrower knacks that been revealed like there so much Smol. Also i really appreciate you continuing to upload for these awesome series for so many year!!
Oh, knacks are one of my favorite parts! And they've certainly grown from how they were initially, becoming so important in the stories.
You can find a full list of knacks on this post, along with an explanation I worked out when I finally decided to fully define them.
That list might be missing a few, I think we did officially announce what Sherlock's knack would be while I'm pretty sure John Watson only has some guesses under the #borrower knacks tag I use to keep this sorted out.
(Smaug is trying to preen me while I answer this so I keep getting pecks to the face when I move against his wishes)
Some additional fun facts:
The strongest knack in existence was the ability to smite demons and monsters, just like an angel, and the person who received it was plenty strong enough to put it to use if they ever saw a demon.
Stan Baker has actually already used his knack in his borrower adventure, found in Brothers Chosen, but we won't see it discovered by the characters for a bit.
As useful as knacks are, there are limits to what they can be.
Borrowers cannot change their size.
Borrowers cannot shapeshift.
Borrowers cannot fly or teleport.
If you want to create your own knacks for characters, we'd love to hear the ideas! A great resource for them that I use is the Superpower wiki, and then adjust the power levels to what the borrowers can handle. They're not at the full superhero levels, of course.
Honestly, answering this has jazzed me up again for the stories, I've been trying to break out of a touch of depression the last few months so it's great to feel that energy again! Thanks so much for the ask!
Under the cut, I'll list out the knacks I can find, it might be a project for another day where I see if there's any others we might have announced separately:
Sam Winchester–
Enhanced Awareness: This can either enhance an already understood sense to supernatural levels, or give the borrower a ‘sixth sense,’ much like how Sam can feel if he’s being watched. His ability does not work on other borrowers, the angelic Grace around their souls keeping the perception from working on them.
Dean Winchester–
Enhanced Tracking: Trackers, like Dean, are able to use their ability to track down their target with undeniable accuracy. There are limits, as Dean can only track down objects he needs. He is unable to apply this to people, and if he can’t conjure up that sense of need, nothing will happen. This is not limited by distance, though if he’s far from an object, he only gets a sense of what direction it’s in.
John Winchester–
Perception Filter: The ability to be unnoticed and/or ignored in presence and actions. John’s ability is unique, so far as he’s discovered. He is unable to apply this ability to himself, but has found that if he concentrates, he is able to hide his family from notice, even if a human opens up the walls and looks right at them. This allows him to leave without worrying that they will be found, though of course, stuff doesn’t always go to plan.
Mary Winchester–
Terrakinesis: The ability to control the earth. While John’s ability tends towards more protective with his family, Mary is ready to go on the attack. She can’t affect entire buildings like the angels, but she can rock the ground just enough to knock a human off balance, buying time for her to escape. This works when there’s concrete, rock, stone, ect underneath the ground. She is unable to affect wood paneling at all and is cautious if she needs to go over a wood floor. With this ability, she was able to slowly carve out a safe home for her family underneath the ground. Adding in John’s ability to keep the family undetected, it seemed a good place to raise their two boys. Mary keeps several pebbles on her that she can flick at an attacker in case she needs a quick escape. Dean certainly got his accuracy from his mother.
Sherlock Holmes–
Time Distortion: The ability to slow down or stop time. A very strong knack that requires training to sustain for longer than a few seconds. In Sherlock’s case, he is able to slow down time around him, enabling him to escape with a speed that can’t be matched, and make observations that no one else would ever notice. When he stretches his ability, he can include others in this. He can’t stop time like an angel; it will always move forward
Bobby Singer–
Psychometry: Bobby’s knack allows him to learn from books and artifacts at a glance or a touch. He’s unable to read people, but if he gets an item of theirs, he can know what it was used for, how it will be put to use in the close future. This includes seeing that a knife will be used for a murder, before the murder happens.
Jacob Andris–
Supernatural Strength: Some, like Jacob, grow stronger than even other borrowers. This comes from their innate ability to turn their knack on their own bodies by instinct. While Sam and Dean receive the standard borrower strength boost while cursed, allowing them to lift around 12x their body weight, Jacob is able to lift, at only 18, a colossal 42x his natural body weight. If he was human-sized, he could bench a car without breaking a sweat.
Oscar–
Pyrokinesis: The ability to manipulate fire in limited forms. Oscar would not easily discover this knack, as a fire in the motel room walls might cause the entire place to go up in a blaze.
Walt Watch–
Telekinesis: The ability to manipulate objects outside of their direct reach. This can often cause a borrower to be mistaken for a ghost, moving objects in a house without touching them for a distraction. Walt Watch has taken the ability further, freezing two humans in place and later directing his power at himself to force his razor blade through Celeste’s neck despite her angelic invulnerability. This came close to burning out his knack.
Chase Lisong–
Emotional manipulation: The ability to influence the emotions around him, with no need for physical contact. A way for Chase to keep the peace among whichever group he’s in, or, if he can manage to get close enough, make a human tired or inattentive enough to escape notice.
Bobby Loran–
Power borrowing: Bobby is able to borrower the knack of other borrowers for a limited amount of time. One at a time, and since he’s not used to them he wouldn’t have as much finesse with them. He’d be quicker to burn them out than the actual “owner” of the knack.
Minnie Lisong–
Life detection: Very useful for finding out if a human is in a room, or seeing if there is a possibly dangerous rat or spider hiding in the walls.
Mark Bend–
Supernatural Strength: Unlike Jacob, Mark’s ability only applies to his legs. His legs are supernaturally enhanced, able to leap high into the air compared to a regular borrower.
Sean–
Invisibility: Though the borrower does not make themselves actually invisible in most cases, the invisibility knack allows them to camouflage and blend in to their surroundings. In Sean’s case, he can cause a cloud of distortion that hides himself and any of his friends that stand close enough.
There are knacks picked out for the following characters, but they have not been announced yet (as far as I remember, feel free to send in a message if I'm just forgetting them!):
John Watson
Stan Baker
Stan Baker's brothers (Seamus, Dylan, Simon and Levi)
Moira Wainscot
Kara Bolt
Harmony
Adriana of the Woods
Oh! And of course, if you think you know what one of the knacks might be, send in your guess and if you're right, we'll officially reveal it!

so thoughts on the ted lasso finale since you reblogged to say you enjoyed it.
i'm going to put them undercut just cause it will contain spoilers!! but yes, i did like and enjoy the finale.
so my thoughts on the ted lasso finale, why I enjoyed it and why I felt the majority of the characters ended up where they should be.
so first let's address ted because so many people didn't like the fact he went back to kansas and left his found family just for henry. I saw loads of people say it was very out of character for ted but I got to disagree.
in s2 we found out that a lot of ted's issues and struggles stemed from the fact his father committed suicide when he was only 16 and that resulted in him feeling like his father abandoned him.
with ted having carried that all his life I understand why he felt he needed to go home to be with his son and be more active in his life. he never wanted henry to feel like he had abandoned him and so he went home to be with him even if it meant sacrificing his life in richmond. ted put his son first. and yes, it's nice to think 'well Henry could come to England' but realistically, to uproot his life like that and take him away from everyone in his life would be a lot for a teenager to go through.
Now let's talk about Rebecca.
I know loads of people are angry about tedbecca, which personally I don't ship so maybe that changes my opinion but I generally don't think the fact them two not getting together spoilt her story or her arc.
To me, the entire arc of Rebecca was for her to finally stop caring about Rupert and what he thinks, to get out of his hold and actually realise how much she loves and care for the club.
And she did that, she stopped caring about beating rupert and cared about the team instead. she realised how much good she had done with the club and how important it was to her and how important she was to the club.
That was her story arc done, and to me it was satisfying.
I know tedbecca shippers are upset and yes it sucks when your ship doesn't happen but to me there was no way they could have worked. ted needed to go back to henry, and rebecca needed to stay. imagine how angry everyone would have been if rebecca gave it all up to be with ted. just look how much everyone hates ross & rachel for the exact same reason.
So the roy/jamie/keeley part.
So this was maybe the part i was least happy about but also I don't think it was that bad.
I loved roy & keeley and it sucked so much that they didn't end up together but I do feel that was best for the characters at this moment.
they broke up because roy didn't feel worthy and then he did nothing to help change that mindset. we finally saw him making strides in the last few minutes and i do feel he needs to sort himself out before him & keeley give it another go because at the moment nothing has changed.
I also kinda liked that Keeley ended up single, for the entire series she's pretty much always had a partner. I like that she's decided to focus on her career for a while.
Sure it would've been nice if they had done the previous two bullets throughout season 3 but they didn't, and I think they are important for the relationship to work.
Now jamie, i do largely want to ignore the comment he made about keeley because he's made the best character progress of the season and I love him. at the same time, while the comment was out of line, i do sort of think it's on brand. a lot of the roy/jamie friendship is based on trying to out do each other and I just don't think jamie thought before he spoke which I also thought was on brand for jamie. that said I don't agree with the stuff he said.
I still love jamie and i don't think that one comment ruins his entire redemption.
other stuff.
I was really happy colin got to kiss his fella even if we all saw it coming. i've really enjoyed his storyline and I thought it was done well.
I am really pleased with where the team ended up at the end of the season.
I loved that sam got to play for nigeria.
i've seen a few people say they hated that nate didn't really move forward, especially as he came back to richmond as a kitman. but i felt this was the whole point of his story. he reached the top and it sucked for him, he lost everything but then realised that actually, that didn't matter anyway.
YES for roy kent as manager.
a little gutted they didn't end up winning the whole fucking thing.
happy with where trent crimm ended up.
loved that beard stayed but not so much that he married jane.
i think that covers everything but come talk to me about anything you want regarding the final.

writing advice blog.....?
thoughts, tips on show don't tell?
Ayy first ask-
You sound apprehensive. Me too.
So,
'Show, don't tell.'
It's a common piece of advice when creating any form of narrative but, how and when to apply it entirely depends on context.
To begin, it's good to understand what 'show, don't tell' means. Overall, it's advising to allude to the reader as to what's happening, and to give hints and a general picture without outright stating what's happening.
A simple example would be:
'Sam was angry.'
Turning to:
'Sam scowled and gritted his teeth.'
Although not outright stating that Sam was angry, the reader can interpret that he is, indeed, angry.
Why should you use 'show, don't tell?'
This advice works in multiple circumstances and can really upgrade your writing and narrative. It usually gives more elaborate detail on things, aids in foreshadowing, and allows the reader to both involve themselves more into the story as well as develop a more detailed, descriptive vision of what you are presenting.
Let's walk through how to do this, with a more elaborate example.
'He saw a group of people dancing. They looked starved and poor. Moricheal felt depressed at the sight.'
We have a lot of framework to build on, here. To effectively apply 'show, don't tell' to this at a more detailed level, we have to think about context.
1: Where is this group?
2: What are their relation to the narrator/character of focus, or why do they feel that way about them?
3: What are the group doing other than dancing/what are the details of the scene?
4: Where are they?
5: How does the character know the more intricate details described (that they are starving and poor)?
Here is the same example after having 'show, don't tell' applied on all five of these levels:
'Moricheal turned the corner on the street, the shopfronts bustling with people and the air thick with heat and dust. By an alley, he heard music. There was a woman, dressed in a red and dirty-white dress which appeared to be falling apart at the seams, shaking her hips, her arms in the air as she moved to the rhythm of the chants. Moricheal stopped to observe the sight. Their thin, bruised hands beat the drums, and smiles were plastered on their fleshless, sunken-in faces. Despite the unfiltered joy emitted from the group, it was the very feeling that made Moricheal turn his head. No amount of song would hide the ribs that poked out harshly from the woman's torso.'
Though it's probably not the best example of this application, I hope it can give you some framework as to what I mean by the benefits of abiding by this advice. It prompts you to elaborate more, aids in building character, setting and general feel (based on application) and gives the reader a much more insightful view into the world or scene you are presenting them with.
However, there are some cases where 'show, don't tell' might be best to avoid. For example, when it is an important or specific detail that the readers MUST know for the sake of the narrative, or to give effect (blunt delivery can help a lot with many scenes and situations in writing, such as dramatic moments or times when a character realises or is told something suddenly).
How you apply this advice and when you choose to use it is entirely between you and your narrative. Do what you think sounds the best, and remember that it's always good to get someone to read through your stuff to pick out things that you may not have realised weren't as obvious as they were intended to be.
Also, sorry if this isn't too helpful or if it's a bit choppy. I'm still learning myself, and nobody's perfect. But hey, first ask. Whoopie!

The Ted Lasso Finale has left me EMPTY. like man I knew they were gonna be kind of realistic about and it stuff but a lot of it just didnt feel like an ending to me? Do I think its probably what would happen if the show was completely realistic? Yes. Do I think it made ANY sense narratively? NO.
Like I'm actually very happy about what they've done with Roy and Colin and maybe maybe maybe Nate but thats it. Nate on paper worked okay for me but I just felt like he didnt have his big moment? That could have been intentional though.
I may ship Tedbecca/Tedpendent but I would have been fine without it if they didnt??? Do them so dirty like that???? Like they did NOT need to tease us like that throughout the entire episode that was just plain mean. Like hello????? the scene in Rebecca's house?? The 'you go, I go?' Ted actually saying that Rebecca pulled a rom-com moment on him? Hell Rebecca getting a first-class seat and Coach Beard leaving the seat next to Ted open? Its like they loaded MULTIPLE Chekov's guns that didnt fire. i would have been fine okay and THEN they pulled up with Boat guy coming back. What. Even. I hated that so bad.
And guys Trent not even getting a moment to really say goodbye to the man who he got fired over was so??? AHHAHSHSJDDGSB
AND IM MAD ABOUT COACH BEARD AND JANE. Especially after so many scenes that indicated that the better choice for Beard was to break it off. And also jane was just, incredibly toxic.
Also I would have hoped that they spent a better part of the season establishing that Ted needed to go home? Idk it just felt like I was waiting for Ted to reveal that he stayed in London the entire time. Henry is obviously a very important part of his life but we didnt even get to see Ted being fulfilled and being there for the reason he went back home in the first place!!! At least give us some scenes where Ted doesnt look like hes about to have another panic attack back in Kansas and he's actually spending time with his little boy.
Okay im just gonna put all the other things that bothered me in a list because im sleepy but I gotta get this all out
The way we have 0 idea what rebecca found out from the doctor
The green matchbox thingy not being addressed
The lack of Bex and the Rupert's ex assistant girlie in the episode. I know them going into Rebecca's house served as a plot point but I wish we still got to see them yknow
Not getting to see Sam's restaurant again
We literally dont even get to hear what Trent wrote in 'The Lasso/Richmond Way' I had hoped there would be at least a reading of it played over some 'future' scenes
Also that Ted looks so unhappy at the end and he just as always steps aside. WHERE DID HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT GO
Also how OOC Ted seemed this episode, I thought they were setting up him revealing to be just really upset hence the behavior but nope nothing nada
Lack of Jade
Doctor Sharon's reaction scenes feeling shoehorned in
While I do love her getting her own official position in the team I wish they just saved showing her character for that scene specifically. Idk the rest of her cheering scenes just didnt really add much
the lack of discussion on mr awful therapist
Ted seemingly still living in the same house as his ex wife who is currently dating his ex marriage counselor
Theres more I just cant think about it anymore
Anyways they did the Diamond Dogs and the Sound of Music routine so right but thats really it for me. Would love to rant about the ending with anybody so DMs are always open

Ask game! 💋💥💞💫
Ooooh, yay! Thank you~
This got kind of long, so my answers are under the cut!
💋when you leave comments on a fic, do you want to hear back from the writer?
Yes! It's rare for me to not want to hear back, but I know and understand that sometimes you got nothing else to say, since I've been on that end too.
💥find your least kudos'd fic - say something wonderful about it.
That would be TTOU Big Finish Snippet: Workplace Security [AO3] with its all of THREE KUDOS! *paper confetti* I really enjoyed writing something for The Thick of UNIT that was Jamie, Sam, and Bismuth. One of the great things about both Doctor Who and The Thick of It is the side characters and what they can bring to the story. While Doctor Who is able to access all of time and space with its side characters and give us more Human voices to lean upon for anywhere from an episode to a whole series/season, the side characters in The Thick of It give us a sense of just how many cogs are in the system and how big and far-reaching everything is, especially what the ministers and aides are cocking up. It's a reminder of all the banal shit in a government or other large organization and how much of said shit happens and yet you have to carry on best you can. Here we're able to explore all of those concepts in a short audio script fic that has no shortage of Bismuth attempting to figure things out, Sam being a sort of grounding force, and Jamie being... well... Jamie. my next-least at five is the beginnings of a rewrite of an old One Piece fic i haven't touched in years and i really need to get back on that bc i haven't touched the rewrite in more than a few months lol i'm too many dozens of thousands of words into the conceptualization to just drop it at this point
💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language
I'm going to answer this in regards to fan fiction only, since it has factors that don't impact published original fiction and vice versa. A tough one, but I would have to honestly say it's a weird combination of factors that can vary if certain criteria are met. Sometimes I begin to go through a fic where something's not up to snuff and I'll go "I'll entertain this for now" and it's lead to some surprising things. Part of this I think comes from cutting my fandom teeth with varying anime as a teen back in the 2000s. One of the things that I think makes sense when you think about it but we're easily able to take for granted is that one can utilize fandom as experimentation and practicing and figuring shit out. For some people, that's learning how to write a story. Others might know how to make words do things (wording is hard!), but they need practice at worldbuilding and storycraft. Some are trying to figure out how to stay consistent with a character, while on the opposite end of that, there's shit so silly that it can't help but be funny. If there's the right balance, then there are definitely things I can look over, but too many infractions clashing with one another and whoops Nehs out. There's also people who use fandom to practice foreign language skills in general. We see it often with weebs learning Japanese, but it also goes with people writing in English-as-a-Second-Language too. I've seen some really questionably-crafted stories that were rife with spelling and technical errors, but the soul of the story is there, if that makes any sense. They KNOW the characters, they KNOW what they want to tell, they KNOW how to get everything across in every possible way, and probably write really well in their native language, but in English...? They're working on it. And that's great! Part of me wants to branch out into that sort of thing one day, but the problem is that the communities whose languages I'm trying to learn are already very bilingual in English. But yeah... because all of those things were so weird and fluid and just desperately wanted in Anglophone weeb spaces FFN that it made sense to take what we could and encourage others when it came to writing about our anime blorbos. I dunno about everyone else's experience, but I rarely was in the middle of flame wars, so most of my fandom experience tended to be pretty cool. Also, having ESL family helps. It's no joke that it's hard translating everything in your head before you say it--some stuff gets lost in translation... literally!
💫what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?
In lieu of a mini book report like was common in my teen years (lol), I really enjoy the ones that take something(s) that the reader liked about the story/chapter and picks it all apart. It could just be that they really liked a line or exchange of dialogue, or mentioning how events are going and how that messes with the story, or using context clues to try to parse out what's coming next. Knowing what clicks and whirs and gets into people's brain is so interesting to me and I love getting that information because then that's stuff for me to figure out as well about my writing and how it interacts with folks. Bonus points when someone does it on a by-chapter basis and/or on older stuff! I do also appreciate when someone legitimately corrects me, lol, 'cause Lord knows I'm not perfect.
Anyone else interested in having me answer some questions as I avoid writing actual fic? See what other prompts there are here.

Beloved, for the ao3 wrapped…
1. How many words have you written this year?
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?
10. What work was the quickest to write?
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?
27. What do you listen to while writing?
31. Is it necessary to watch The Walking Dead to read your Richonne? I have fomo but no to zombies and I can’t commit to anything with 11 seasons unless I already started.
20K +
3. Every Little Thing because it's just so painful. It is the saddest, most painful, hurtful thing I have ever written, and it was nice to get it written down to channel my grief.
7. I don't think I used song lyrics this year. Oh wait, maybe something by Ho99o9.
10. It's usually one of the bingo square fills because they don't take a bunch of planning - they're responding to a quick prompt. I'd say it was Seeing the Lights. That one-shot just fell outta me.
16. Sam Wilson Needs a Hug
18. Steve Rogers.
27. I have this playlist I listen to when I'm painting, and I sometimes put it on.
31. Hehe I love that you added your own question to this.
There's a thing we call the Richonne Movie that someone made that's a video all of their scenes put together. We end up losing the link to it every once in a while as a whole fandom, but if I find it, I'll send it to you.
Separately, Rick and Michonne are really cool, interesting characters. Lot of badassery. Lot of trauma. They are literally Enemies (loosely) to Allies to Friends to Lovers. It's fucking incredible to watch, because you get this great love story, between these two hardened warriors, who are literally ONLY SOFT with one another and their kids. This mature relationship built on mutual respect and friendship between people in their 30s/40s and it's set in the Zombie Apocalypse. Like, what? Lol
You can read my stuff without ever watching the show. My favourite character to write is Rick Grimes because he gets away with so much stuff in the Richonne fandom. Seriously. You can have him murder a small village and the fandom's like, "You're doing amazing, sweetie."
There's very specific plot stuff that directly impacts who these characters are, and why it was important for them to end up together. They have never been comic book canon - they were written together in the show because Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira had so much great chemistry that the showrunner - who was also still a writer at the time - wrote them together. It was a slow burn, but it was so wonderful when it happened. Anyhoo, I'll shut up now, otherwise I'll be here all day talking about them.

Not for nothing but Janet and Sam raising Cassie was basically a completely wasted opportunity. I realize we got Rite of Passage, which frankly I hated then and still hate now because it leans way too much on the "bitchy teenager" trope instead of building any actual character for Cassie, and we know Cassie is why Sam left the SGC before s9, and obviously the show never really did slice of life stuff except with Pete which automatically revoked their right to ever do any slice of life stuff again but I still feel like it could have been a much more interesting thing to explore.
None of SG-1 has anything to lose, really: Daniel has no family besides Nick, who's estranged and then gone; Jack has no one; Teal'c has his family and Bra'tac but he's already committed to potentially never seeing them again. Sam has Jacob, but he's off doing his own thing. How would the show have changed if Sam's relationship with Cassie was cast as something to lose?
We know that SG-1 is quite involved with raising Cassie: Jack GIVES HER A DOG for crying out loud. And of course Cassie's middle school teacher knows Jack by name (cf. Learning Curve), and Sam in particular is very involved, obviously, visiting when she can (cf. In The Line of Duty, although I don't know when exactly this was supposed to air; the shot of Sam in the gate room from 1x02 and beyond is from that episode, which aired as 2x02, which presumably is why they were able to get Katie Stuart for that episode but not again in s5, but I digress. My point is that we can't assume when that was actually supposed to be because it's out of order so presumably it could have meant Sam was involved short term EXCEPT) and planning fun weekend activities (cf. Urgo). Sam buys Cassie's cake in Rite of Passage and we know they regularly play chess, and we know that Sam specifically left the SGC for Cassie between the original finale and S9 (which was actually an excuse for AT's maternity leave, but).
Every time I rewatch, though, I find myself so profoundly frustrated with the fact that Cassie is never there when it's important. Like, sure, maybe they couldn't get either of the actresses. But there's this fun thing in television called dialogue, and they should have taken notes from Leverage: Redemption on talking about an absent character (look I know one predates the other by more than twenty years, but you get it).
One of the things that this show was so good at was the plots with kids, but most of the kids end up going home or going elsewhere (Merrin and Charlie, respectively, for instance but also I am once again asking what the hell happened to Loran?) and Cassie stays. They let Cassie back on base during In the Line of Duty, so where is she in Entity, or even Death Knell, Grace, or Line in the Sand? Where is she in Meridian? Did she ever meet Jonas? Or Cam or Vala? What was her opinion of Pete? Where did she go after Heroes? (She may have been old enough to be in college, maybe, but still.)
I realize there are always unanswered questions (like what happened to Satterfield? Did Haley end up working on an SG team? Did Grogan get reassigned?) but I just have so many specifically about Cassie, and by extension her relationship with Sam, and by another extension Sam and Janet's friendship.
Anyway, this is more of a ramble than a coherent set of thoughts but basically: I realize that slice of life stuff wasn't this show's schtick, and I think that suits it perfectly well, but I have so many unanswered questions about Cassie's post-Singuarity life that I do actually think should have been addressed more frequently in one-off dialogue.
