There's something poetic about the fact that Luo Binghe's most prized possession is a fake jade Guanyin pendant--objectively a counterfeit, cheaper version of the original, yes, but something that holds immense emotional value to him because of the kind and loving memories of his mother that he associates with it.
His first and only love is his Shizun, who is, in a sense, similar--a counterfeit, not actually a lofty immortal master, but just a guy who got transported into the body of one. A knockoff, but one that Luo Binghe cherishes dearly because unlike the original, he was kind and loving. He made Binghe feel cared for, once upon a time.
And, at the end of it all, Binghe, after years upon years of having thought he lost his mother's pendant, his Shizun's care, is told that both have been nearer than he ever could have imagined. Shen Qingqiu gives him back the pendant, and says, "stop saying that no one would ever want you," because the pendant is proof, he is proof, that Luo Binghe is loved in this world.

something about how much of the danny phantom fandom is based on fanon and how we all build up on one another and tell the stories over and over with different details until it's the same people and story but intrinsically different and you can clearly trace how those small details changed one another and also about how fanfiction is just folk stories isn't it

It might not be the type of game for everyone but there's something so fascinating about "daily lives of monsters" type games in Chronicles of Darkness for me. Something about the alienation from human society but the inevitable draw to having to deal with it.
Sure, you might have died last night, and there's a death god sitting on your shoulder who won't shut up but you still have to turn in the rent check tomorrow.
You thought that the shitty dollar store you worked at was sucking your life away, and it turns out not only is it literally doing that, you can now see the spirit baron embodying the store who's controlling it and helping make everyone miserable, and you could try and mobilize against him but it'd take an incredible amount of manpower and resources that you barely have, and you're so tired. Not to mention the power vacuum you'd create and the fact being too heavy-handed with one spirit court is going to potentially turn all the other ones against you and that spirit baron is a petty little bastard who'd probably start targeting your mortal loved ones just to get you to back off.
The trods need constant maintaining and somehow you got talked into being a Summer Courtier so it's your problem. So you go off into the Hedge and just hope you come back at a reasonable time because you sure as hell can't afford to miss a shift, or for that matter that you even return in the right timeline. The hobs are fine compared to the absolute dread each time you unlock a Hedgegate. But hey. Goblin Fruits are pretty filling and sometimes the Absinthal gives you free booze, so your grocery bill's gone down.
Drag yourself into a dead-end job and hide in the bathroom when your Scars act up. Memorize where the cameras are on the path there. Pray it doesn't take more than fifteen minutes because that's all you're legally allotted for the day. You can't have your boss coming in and seeing you like this. For one thing, he'd give you an infraction and you're already on your second strike, and for another you're about sixty percent sure that this company is a subsidiary for the Conspiracy that made you. You can't get fired, or caught.
I dunno! We do a lot of chest beating about how the personal horror aspects of being a monster, and to be fair that is fun, but for me there's something a lot more interesting to me about how being a monster can expose the innately monstrous aspects of modern human society. Probably not a coincidence all of the examples above are capitalism induced. Also this is a very messy off-the-cuff post so hopefully it makes sense.

Headcanon: After the events of Pizza Tower, out of all of the bosses, Peppino and the Vigilante have the closest relationship. They aren't the bestest of friends per se, though. They both still remember what they did to each other, but at the very least, they were able to clear up misunderstandings and explain some things.
Bonus: Sometimes, whenever he's heard that Peppino had an especially bad day, the Vigilante will drop by for a short visit to check up on him. It's not much, but he hopes that Peppino appreciates the gesture.

werewolf!konig thought 🫡
god god gOD the way he would hunker down when he starts to get close, not moving reader anymore but instead holding her in place with the weight of himself on top of her, going from doggy to slowly pushing her down flat under him one arm still circling her waist to get the angle just right and going at it. her tight heat sucking him in and clenching desperately trying to milk him while he ruts deep inside of her groaning and grunting at how good, tight, wet, hot, perfect, perfect, perfect his little mate feels all the while she is so cockdrunk on him that she can’t do more than weakly grip the sheets (the cute flower printed ones she picked out just yesterday) and keen and pant at how absolutely full and wrecked she feels having this huge man, her mate now that she’s accepted him fully, and konig is eating it up, every sound she makes is just fueling each thrust inside of her and his inner wolf is screaming at him now now claim her now and and and

Taskmaster series 16 (spoilers of course).
A few things I think about this series so far....
Julian Clary jumping between someone who tries hard, doesn't want to displease Greg and just making polite yet savage quips at Alex is amazing. I hope he gets a lot of good things from this. He also looks fabulous as well.
Lucy Beaumont I'm convinced is playing her character version of herself still but little moments peak out. I think she plays well into the funny thoughts she has and embraces it, but she's a smart lady and knows the role she should play really well. Fantastic. Loved her cardigan this week.
Sam Campbell is off-beat but I think really wants to do well so badly. I think he's probably wanted to do this for a while and seems like his just having fun and it should be a great way for him to have a bigger presence in the UK. He's uniquely wonderful. Second week in a row he's all in grey.
Sue Perkins I'm calling this now is purposely dumbing down a little bit. I think she's a really smart woman who also knows what comedy will work best. She is playing a blinder in choosing a certain way to tackle her tasks to make them funnier and more entertaining. I think she could ace the show even more if she wanted too.
Susan Wokoma a real wildcard who came off to a quiet start but the mischief task shows how wonderful her mind is and that she is very capable. I love her enrgy as well, she's just fantastic. Also love her outfit this week.

you will be happy to know that i am writing a kesett tine travel fix it rn, but i have an important question- would cal be the type to flirt easily, but get flustered when flirted back at? i need a third opinion
Yesss. Welcome to the ship!
Tumblr media
Okay, so I talked with the server we have some thoughts.
I am of the headcanon that Cal can be oblivious to the fact he is flirting or being flirted with thanks to hearing how most of the Scrappers flirted. If it ain't suggestive and aggressive, well, he doesn't pick up on all the signals.
That said, another good headcanon:
If someone is flirting by saying he has a nice looking face or something he just blows it off. He has heard worse growing up on Bracca.
Now if he flirts and they flirt back with something specific (the way you handle a lightsaber turns me on) or with a flirty compliment (I could listen to your voice for the rest of my life) he doesn't know how to respond. Squeak. Silence. Etc.
Basically, write what you think is best! I can't wait to read your story.

my singular "hot take" is that though jiang cheng is put with mu qing and liu qingge most of the time as his closest parallels in the other mxtx novels i don't really think that's the case. jiang cheng is honestly more of a unique character when it comes to his role in the story than a lot of people give him credit for but if i had to compare him to any other mxtx character? it would actually be qi rong. they both:
grew up with the protagonist with an initially somewhat positive relationship
said relationship included some kind of innate power imblance (wei wuxian was ultimately just the son of a servant but still surpassed jiang cheng in a lot of ways, qi rong was a bastard child who was disliked by other people and so his adoration for xie lian was built on a kind of envy)
did relatively awful things throughout the story but had a pseudo-redemption (or at least gave proof that they're able to be good) by caring for a small child they somehow became the sole guardian of
are the kind of unpleasant to be around where you don't just not be friends with them you purposefully move away when you see them in public

Hand me the Clives 🤲
Let’s be real, the dynamic between Clive and Jote would be interesting. I had thoughts about this as of this morning.
Jote spent more time with Joshua than Clive, due to screwed circumstances. It’s wild to think Clive didn’t get that much time with his own brother and it makes me SAD.
Imagine Jote spilling the tea and HE’S SPILLING TEA when Joshy was itty bitty young.

Headcanon: After the events of the pizza tower and once things are seemingly good and well, the memories and trauma of what happened begins to come back to haunt Peppino. One such result is the development of chronophobia, as well as the severe dislike and even fear of clocks. Just hearing anything that goes tick, tock will send him into an immediate, heightened state of anxiety. The same goes for when he sees anything even reminiscent of a clock, such as his own pizza, limiting his abilities to continue his business. Despite this, he pushes on. But even in a quiet room, he swears he can still hear it: tick. Tock. Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Tick, tock, tick, tock, ticktockticktockTICKTOCKTICKTOCKTICKHELLO THERE~!ICKTOCK
