thinkin' about some MG Graphic Novel ideas I have,, and about these two girlies that become unlikely friends in one of the story ideas I have :) (not a historical graphic novel, but more fantasy/historical inspired as it takes place in a fantasy/magical world that is loosely based on ours but y'know, has literal magic)

Probably upper MG/Young YA? If I had to choose an age group that this story was aimed for :)

Basically the premise is: The blonde girl (name pending) travels to a magical Eastern/Chinese-inspired country with her rich (Evil) father, and befriends the daughter (also name pending lol) of said country's emperor. Shenanigans ensue :) Also... young love??

Gollum in THE HOBBIT graphic novel

"In 1989 Eclipse Comics produced a three-part adaptation of The Hobbit by Chuck Dixon, Sean Deming and illustrated by David Wenzel. A year later, due to public demand, this was subsequently re-issued as a single graphic novel that has remained in print ever since. The writers wisely chose to sensitively abridge Tolkien’s source text, rather than adapted the story and make any major changes. Hence this graphic novel version of The Hobbit retains much of the dialogue from the original novel and subsequently maintains the book’s inherent charm."

This fan comic is adapted from a scene in Fellowship of the Ring, chapter four, “A Shortcut to Mushrooms.” 🌱

I have been wanting to try my hand at comics since I have been collecting and admiring graphic novels for years and years. I’ve picked out a handful of scenes from this book to practice with, and this first one really begins to establish Sam’s character in particular, as well as his bond with Frodo. 💛 More to come probably, I’m going to try a scene with more of the Fellowship next!
