It's very hard to get a good photograph of this geranium. It is very neon pink and I love it. Two more tomato sprouts appeared today along with a purple tomatillo. And my beautiful little idiot came to visit again; we talk to each other sometimes and he's gotten better about not flying away when I'm working out there.

Woke up to a set of new sprouts in tray #2. All three Honey & Cream sweet corn have sprouted, a Rogue D’hiver Romaine, all of the mountain sweet yellow watermelons, butter crunch lettuce, all the “homemade pickles” cucumbers, a grand rio verde tomatillo, two of my Boy chops and all of my Purple of Sicily cauliflower.

I will have to start thinning the tray once one of the two in these are a little more established in the soil.

There are a lot of sprouts still working in smaller cells, and the bigger sprouts I think are nearly ready for outside, they’re staring to grow their third and fourth set of leaves. The corn is most definitely ready to go outside, but it has to wait until Saturday.

Because of the speed of these guys, investing in one more light set up for the 3 cup 18 cell trays to give these guys more time inside, and then start taking them out for some time to get used to the weather or making them “hardier”.

Been making sure their stems are strong everyday for the taller ones and trying to make sure the 2 in front that seem droopy are okay. Thought it might be over watering to I’m chilling them off water for a bit but the leaves are firm and strong and have retained a strong green so I’m not overly concerned as of right now.

I’ve also added plant food to their soil and going to invest in some liquid fertilizer for them today.

Edit: I realize it says Boy chops. It should say Bok Choy but I’m just not going to fix it

I have started my tomatoes and tomatillo seeds. Aside from the purple bumblebee cherry tomato these are all varieties I have not tried growing before.

My preferred starting for tomatoes is peat pucks. I find they do better than in plastic or compostable pots.

i just ate my first tomatillo! my garden has, thus far, produced exactly one of them from five plants. it was purple and delicious! fried it with some mushrooms and served on toast. here's to hoping i get a few more of them eventually :)

yes, where we can! between our house and the family garden up there road, this summer we’re growing lettuce (butter crunch and may queen), spinach, kale (lacinato and siberian), mustard greens, swiss chard, lots of carrots (danver half-long, new kuroda, kyoto red), tomatoes (cherry, slicing and paste varieties) scallions, green and yellow onion, slicing cucumbers, husk cherries, a few varieties of strawberries, blueberries, rhubarb, nasturtiums, yellow potatoes, turnips, rutabaga, purple top and icicle radishes, howden pumpkins, sunshine kabocha squash, blue hubbard squash, fairytale squash, zucchini, summer squash, sugar pie pumpkin, eggplant, tomatillos, cauliflower, storage cabbage, peppers (both bell and hot), thyme (elfin, wooly, lemon, red creeping, german, english), mint (strawberry, grapefruit, cat mint), orange balm, lemon verbena, basil (sweet, classic, thai), parsley, sage, fennel, dill, oregano, chives, anise hyssop, echinacea, feverfew, wild bergamot, a few apple trees, and plenty of other things that family members are likely to contribute down the line!

tomatillo is sunburned, not blushing. girl is hyper photosensitive after [REDACTED] years in near-complete darkness. her bandana is her old habit, but cut to be shorter. the shawl is meant to be one of crowberry's, and the whole costume concept is "crowberry steals tomatillo from the labyrinth and takes her somewhere nice" because i made myself so sad with tomatillo's story lol. the purple is colorpicked from crowberry's sprite and also a reference to the existence of purple tomatillos

margarita and martini are both in costumes inspired by lolita, but margarita's is a little more classic and martini's is ouji lolita, specifically somewhat inspired by the guy in this set. i think she deserves a cape!

i don't think i've ever actually posted kitchen sink cookie, but he was like my very first cookie run oc! they're a rare cookie, and the younger sibling of @arvyos' monster cookie. he suffers from chronic dough instability due to excessive ingredients, and his pretzel arm + caramel leg are prosthetics made by drs. peanut butter cookie and strawberry jelly cookie when he was much younger. after monster's monsterification the girls were able to continue their work and actually succeeded at what killed her in the first place, and they eventually stabilized him!

as a kid, his relationship with strawberry jelly cookie soured, because he (not wrongly) blamed her for monster dying lol, but as he matured they reconciled. hints of that are visible in that they grew their hair out like hers, and wear their jacket like she does, sleeves rolled up.

Trimmed up all the long grass and weeds in the greenhouse and it’s so neat now!! Bugs have been eating seedling foliage so it was past time to trim that down to help reduce it.

Went to two nurseries with my friends and I got some things and helped her plant her things (including potatoes I gave her)!!! It was such a good day. Here’s a list of everything I bought:

✨Tomato update no one asked for!✨

The first two pictures are plants that I bought.

These are my Cherokee Purple. The top one got broken by chickens, but tomatoes are incredible, so I stuck the stem back deep into the ground and watered it well. It looked rough for about two days, but it’s making new roots now!

These six are Big Beef! I’ve never grown them before, so I’m excited to see how these turn out.

These three are beefsteak, German Pink, and Spoon tomato/Yellow Pear respectively.

These two are my tomatillo tomatoes and are my pride and joy.

(Lol does this count as a @galladrabbles if I say it’s a post Ian would make? It unintentionally came to exactly 100 words.)
