I absolutely love humans are space orcs, so here’s a three prompts.
1: Body swap.
If two species find each other weird, can you imagine the reactions to suddenly BEING in that body?
It’s one thing to inspect something from afar, it’s another thing to be the thing your inspecting.
Bonus points if one of them have a disability either mental or physical.
“Damn this feels like shit how do you put up with this stuff?”
2: hallucinations, illusions, and dreams.
Most aliens don’t have these, and their minds don’t conjure up stuff for shits and giggles, so seeing something that isn’t there is a very foreign concept to them.
The way humans hyperfixate or insert themselves into scenarios feels way to real for aliens already, and they just don’t know how to handle someone getting lost in their own mind.
Aliens DO have mental disabilities, but their brains are much less prone to them because they aren’t designed like some kid put it together with glue and popsicle sticks before having to tape it back together after the 27th time it falls apart.
A: “Your brain is so complex!”
H: “Oh, thank you!”
A: “in a bad way.”
Dreams are the weirdest to them, because it’s not just one or two things popping up in your vision, but instead a whole landscape. AND they’re unconscious.
When humans tell them about their dreams, they want to transfer them to a mental facility, but you can’t exactly do that to a whole species.
Especially with nightmares.
3: Australia, Florida, Oceans, and “Fun facts!”
Earth is space Australia already, but what if they just went to the actual thing?
After hearing all about weird human anatomy, they wonder about the other anatomy their planet has to offer.
Fun fact! Here’s a creature that can kill you in seconds. Fun fact! Look at this freak of nature. Fun fact! This thing hides in the blind spots of god. Fun fact! Run.
A: “Hey human, why are you scared of the arainds?”
H: “I’m sorry, they just look like spiders and I have arachnophobia.”
A: “Whats arachnophobia?”
H: “Fear of spiders. Most humans have it”
A: “Wait, that’s a trait humans share? Why?”
H: “Creatures like spiders, snakes and wasps have terrorized our species for so long, that the fear of them had wormed its way into our very DNA and traumatized a whole species.”
A: “oh….. ok”

Kill Code Moon, who has been chained up by the Creator in this bunker for months: Hm?
Sun, getting him free of the restraints: Oh my god, are you okay?
Kill Code Moon: Go away, hallucination.
Moon: Oh, KC.

A novel or manga where the MC has a familiar or something that can talk, but they don’t speak unless it’s around only the MC or the antagonist/That One Guy Everyone Hates. And instead of the secret being revealed or anything, the MC just gaslights them into thinking they’re hallucinating it or something

For 13 and one other of your choice!! Zelda maybe?
💍🍵💧🕰️
sorry this is so long. I couldn't help myself.
tw: mentions of abuse, hallucinations
💍 Does your OC have a specific item that is priceless to them but may (or may not) be completely worthless to someone else? Is there a story behind this item or is it just because they like it so much?
Zelda has lost everything she has ever owned. When she left Little Lamplight, all the clothes were handed down or repurposed. Toys given away to younger children as she grew up, that was the rule. And as she became a teen and was constantly reminded of her impending departure, she just felt pushed into adulthood too early and felt nothing towards childish things. When Big Town was raided during her first month, things were stolen and others were shared amongst survivors. When she joined the gang, things were stolen when you slept, traded for things, lost. Zelda doesn't understand possessions and tries not to get attached. She likes a few dresses and nice things. She has those tucked away in the footlocker upstairs in the Megaton Common House, but no trinkets of the past. Just piercings and tattoos maybe.
13 has her mask. When she finally escaped the Cleeks from the rain tunnel, she floated into Lake Mead and drifted to the shores of a settlement, where she was given a proper burial and mourned by the polite folks that lived there. In a month's time she managed to dig herself out of her grave to the horror of the villagers. Some claimed she was a mutant, others were kind enough to listen and speak in her defense. She would grow back and wouldn't be a bother. Would leave even, if that made them feel safer. It was a heated point of contention in the town, but it was decided she would stay with a family on the outskirts of town to grow back and then leave. She grew and talked with the family, growing together as a family. She told them she had no idea where the ability came from or why she was chosen to have it and about her horrific deaths. The family cared for her and mourned for her injuries and burden. They made her the first few clay masks of her life. It made her more confident to go into town and it eased the more cautious citizens. In that year of growth, 13 proved to just be an abandoned mutant child and was about as harmful as any other child her age would be and is allowed to stay.
🍵 Are there any rumours about your OC hanging around? Nasty ones or just good humoured? Got any gossip to share about them?
Zelda's whole thing is that she is a Raider. Not reformed at all. She is completely done with the world and wants enough comfort and good feelings until her body eventually burns out..... or..... an opportunity to ride out the shitstorm until the world rebuilds. It isn't until Zelda learns of the Institute that her life goals change and she starts to get serious.
I think because Zelda plays it so cool upon entering Megaton and coming off as a trader. The rumor mill doesn't start churning until she starts trying to recruit Jericho. Its starts off that she's a theif and that she only sells guns, and where could she gets such a steady supply? In the beginning, many think she's a merc, but when she starts hanging around with Jericho and he leaves with her, that things start getting more suspicious. Once more, I heard that Zelda's not so nice when she reaches the Common House. She's kicked a settler or two out of bed with a vicious thrash and stolen it. She has an influx of weapons and armor hidden in that footlocker of her's... Old raider armor too...
Everyone in the Sewers has an idea that 13 was a cannibal but nobody has the balls to say it to her face. She's quiet and brings back food to share and does her part to keep the place clean and doesn't get sloppy. She's more of a help than a nuisance and there haven't been any disappearances so, they think she's reformed. But they know she's lived in the sewers longer than anyone else. She knows them too well and isn't afraid to go deeper into Fiend territory. The only people knew the sewers that well were the Sawney, the White Glove Society. It's not hard to put two and two together. And who would fuck with a cannibal? It's a strained situation. One, you as the Courier could get her out of...
💧 What makes your OC lose hope, what makes them give up and feel helpless? Have they ever given up on something really important or let go of a dream? What are some of their biggest regrets? Would they ever try again (if they’re able to)?
What made her lose hope first? Her being an incredibly sickly child and only having other children to take care of her or losing everything to a raid in the middle of the night a few months into adulthood? It was rough for Zelda, but she had to be tough. She's driven by not being hopeless and helpless again. I think as she ages and eventually becomes a synth and watches the progression of the world, she'll regret what she did to Big Town and Capital Wasteland and to Harkness and for the dirty deeds she did for the Institute. She will look back on the scope of her life with a massive amount of regret.
13 is kind of in the same boat. She wasnt well liked in her family by her aunt or community members. It was a very selfish place and 13 had few supportive people in her early life so she felt pretty hopeless until she escaped. When the townspeople fled because of reports of the oncoming Legion, 13 chose to stay behind because she knew she would not be welcomed into the village they were retreating to, so she headed back to Vegas to find herself as she was an adult now. 13 still feels pretty hopeless. She's too afraid to leave the sewers, she mourns her people despite their abuse, she mourns her second family who she will never see again, and she mourns for her inevitable immortality. She just needs a little friend bro. Just a buddy. 13 will become immortal with no regrets. She is never the catalyst for the end of the world as people know it, she chooses to wait until all living things peacefully pass and then she destroys the planet and universe. And then becomes the universe anew with Momma.
🕰️ Has there been an event that happened in your OCs past that affects their future or one that they think about still? Is this a bad event or a good one? What are a few of their childhood memories they can recall?
As I said before Zelda being sick and around children that don't have proper medical care skills had to be really frustrating and scary. There would be nights where her fevers were so bad she would start to hallucinate and all she had were other frightened children trying to comfort her or tell her those things weren't happening. She never received adequate child care or medical treatment and it really messed with her. It made her angry about her helplessness and about Little Lamplight. She mad about being made to leave. She was pissed when she made it to Big Town. She was furious after the raid. She was just sick to death of being powerless. I think the few good things she remembered were the teenagers around when she was little. There were some older 14 year Olds that treated her like their baby and were so comforting to her and then they had to leave. She never found them again in Big Town.
13 had a lot of bad memories too. Food was scarce and when it was there it was screaming at you for mercy. Her aunt was neglectful as well as her cousins. The sewers were a place of desperation and there were dangerous people down there. Adults were not people you could trust and she had to escape a few unsavory grasps. It made her real quiet and invisible. She liked being small, it made it less likely for her to get punished. Good memories were plenty. Cousins who were nice played with her and her stint in the village for 13 years did wonders for her mental health.

I feel like I'm going to go insane
my little brother has the chickenpox, which normally wouldn't be too much of a concern to people since if you've had it once you're unlikely to get it again. My problem is that I'm one of those rare cases that has gotten it not once, not twice, but three fucking times.
that, paired with my tactile hallucinations and paranoia are driving me insane
it takes between 1-3 weeks for symptoms to show up and if I have chickenpox and can't go to my formal I'm actually going to cry

The tactile hallucinations are getting worse. It feels like something is touching me, either lightly like a bug or like someone is tapping me with their fingertip. Had my wife check and double check that nothing was there; I was relieved there weren't any actual bugs on me, but it's a small comfort. Therapist and I talked about the hallucinations during session yesterday. The only thing to really do is wait and see if they get any worse (actually disruptive to daily life), and then I'll have to talk to Psych. Therapist wants me to keep track of them, what I'm doing and feeling, if anything triggered them. I was playing FFXIV and feeling tired. That's pretty much a daily occurrence. I know that now I'm feeling super low. Ugh, I don't even want to type anymore.

@caelestcs asked   :    “Because they’re dead, love. They’re all dead.”   {for B.ai C.houfei from Fang Xing because I am a gremlin and think she'd turn 'love' into a curse just for him}   -   I FORGOT WHICH MEME THIS IS BUT DANG
Tumblr media
Xiao Shitou died right in front of his eyes at least a hundred times in the hallucinations, one death bleeding into another, poison taken by the hour with nearly no strip of clarity - but he HELD ON by the skin of his teeth, in the brief, blissful darknesses, unwilling to believe in such a horrible truth until the message had been delivered to him in REALITY. Xiao Shitou’s dead, and he doesn’t even need to guess about Wen Rou. Dead and gone and for WHAT? A country that did not care about its people, a world that will never be just. And he himself - what was he?  He is not a hero, has never been a hero, and the only time he had ever wanted to protect what he held in his heart has been WORTHLESS to anyone else, caught in a feud between two people who’s priorities were always EACH OTHER. . That’s the reality that he won’t forget. That he won’t forgive. When his present business is done...a different kind of storm is coming for the heads of the capital. He’s a man with little left to lose after all. Corner of his lip pulls up, tone touched lazy and sharp with contempt -  “I hardly need a reminder from Minister Cai’s PARROT.”

vent tw
i need to talk to my therapist and psychiatrist but i think I might be system (or at least most definitely have some form of dissociative disorder) i am, still freaking out about it, but. I have started to talk to um, us, idk what to call them but they’re me? us? anyway, i am distressed and very nervous but I think we can get it under control or at least I can calm down a little.
very upset, this is definitely a frightening experience to say the least.
for context, I have been off weed since the original incident and (at the time when it first happened I was off my antipsychotics, i needed a refill for a week and a half) i am fully back on my antipsychotics so if it was any hallucinations or delusions they’d at the very minimum be lesser than when off meds. but it has stayed consistent, so this realization is I would say logical to assume.
I might update stuff later but dw I’m still doing mogai terms, I might vent a bit more and talk about how this all plays out. :)

Prompt #7
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Masterlist
••••••••••••••••••••••••
I don't think I've ever seen Carbon Monoxide poisoning in whump...
I mean, there's just so much potential!
Characters falling ill with some mysterious sickness, everyone in the house having similar, if not the same symptoms.
Maybe it's just dizziness, fatigue, headaches, muscle aches, and nausea. All things that are inconvenient, and after a certain point, become worrisome and quite concerning but not life threatening and some might just brush off. Maybe if they live alone they think they're over-dramatic or that their age or past experiences are finally getting to them. If they have roommates, maybe they chock it up to food poisoning or seasonal allergies being extra bad or maybe it's all the studying, work, and/or parties. Some could even think it's a virus of some kind.
But it continues to get worse. With things like seizures, hallucinations, and disorientation making a character who lives alone think they're going completely insane or maybe they finally go to the hospital because y'know. Seizures. If they're roommates, then wow, that's some bad food poisoning. Or they've been having some awful trips lately.
Anyway, eventually if nothings done about it, it can leave a character or two comatose or even eventually dead.
Just seems quite whumpy and with a ton of potential. Whether it's a sickfic, environmental whump, etc.
Not to mention; what about a recovering whumpee? What or who are they hallucinating? This sure would make physical and mental recovery a hell of a lot harder. Especially when the caretaker is extremely ill and experiencing similar symptoms as the whumpee.
Would be a shame if this happened to your poor recovering blorbos :(

Marshmallow dust.
Tumblr media
This is the crap I drew @ant1quarian
this... is Marshmallow Dust. A weighted plushie designed specifically for mental health reason. The plush is... semi sentient??? Nightmare had it designed after a bad episode Dust had.
While soft, it feels like dough. Huggable but kinda heavy, it can be hugged abd out on your chest for compression therapy.
The plush does what it deems best for its current owner. It can walk around and do tasks, suck as cook (if it can find a way to climb onto the counter) and will make sure you eat properly.
It has a glow feature, as it's intended to accommodate for fears of the dark, or being alone.
Tumblr media
(TW: the next part talks about mental health and the plushes use for preventing things like s/h and bad eating habits!)
It will do anything in its power to prevent its owner from anyform of S/H, and will alert any contacts if it believes it's owner is a risk to themself (In this case, Dust) and it cannot prevent it.
It encourages other coping mechanisms from smoking, and will steal cigarettes and throws them away.
It can be annoying, but it's doing its best. It's just doing it's job. Nightmare is the one alerted if the following happens:
Dust has caused bodily harm to himself on purpose.
Dust has refused to eat or drink for over 24hrs.
Dust has refused to sleep for over 24hrs.
Dust is exhibiting symptoms a panic attack, hallucinations, delusions, high anxiety, or if requested.
Dust is a threat to himself or others.
Requires any other sort of help.
Dust wants to hate the plush, but, he keeps it in his room when he sleeps and just let's ot help him.

Tried to unlock some memories with Therapist on Monday. Lucy took charge; she's so little and so brave. I hate that she has to hold whatever happened to us. But she asked for Molly and Blitz and Carmen to help her "open the door." The first door was the Gilberts house closet, which led to the Elgin house bedroom. But that closet is covered by what looks like a stretched out blue balloon? Very weird. It's bulging a bit, so we know something is behind it. Everyone else has been pretty quiet this week. I guess we're all just waiting til our next session.
I think I might have to tell Therapist that the SH thoughts are starting to come back. I've not had any urges, but the fact that I managed to not have them for so long, only for the thoughts to start popping up again, makes me a bit concerned. Actually, I don't think I've had them since we put Hannah to bed. Maybe she's co-conning and I'm just not realizing it? We are pretty alike, after all. I'll have to check in with her and see what's going on.
The tactile hallucinations got really bad Tues-Thurs, but they seemed to have calmed down for now. Another thing to keep an eye on. I think I freaked my wife out; at one point we were worried that we actually had lice or bedbugs or something and I finally snapped out loud "I DON'T HAVE BUGS." Wife definitely got startled, but I don't think it did too much damage.
Anyway, there's an update.
