"Oh no, someone's attracted to the aesthetics of my -punk movement but doesn't know the praxis and history behind it like I do--"
OK. Tell them. Make it a teaching moment. Everyone who's in your movement learned the background from somewhere at some point, maybe this is that point for that person. Give them a jumping off point that they can dive into later.
"Oh but I shouldn't be responsible for teaching baby -punks about the history and the how-tos and--"
OK. Then don't tell them. You don't have to be responsible for teaching people with a budding interest in your group the ins and outs and how-tos. That's fair and valid! It can be a lot of work. Someone else will handle it
"But I'm annoyed that they would try to claim to be part of/be interested in my community without knowing all the details that I know after being in it for months/years/decades, they're dumb, they're posers, they're--"
OK. Then don't engage with them, if it's that bad. Maybe someone else will come around and tell them the history, maybe they'll pick it up on their own, maybe they'll just enjoy the fashion elements for awhile.
"But they shouldn't claim to be part of the -punk community if they don't know the--"
I feel like we have a few options here. People can either talk to them, share the history, share the values, share the praxis. Or they can just chase off anyone who even thinks about dipping a toe in their community, and then wonder why it's dying off later down the line.
I dunno, maybe I'm too naive and patient or whatever. But if people are entering your -punk spaces without knowing The Rundown of what you feel they need to know, maybe being nice about it and informing people instead of immediately assuming stupidity and malicious intent could help you make a new friend. Even the loudest voices in a space had to learn from somewhere, and not everyone has the luxury of being in the space as the History was Happening--whether it's an age thing or a not being aware of the space thing. Or maybe I just don't see what the big deal is behind people hating people who like the aesthetic of something and don't know the behind the scenes history about it yet.
Because I believe in the word 'yet.' No one comes into this world knowing everything about everything, and we're all constantly learning new things. I'm not gonna degrade someone and call them a poser for not knowing what I know. Because if it were me, interested in a scene but getting chased out and called a poser? I wouldn't hit the books and study up, I'd go 'that fuckin sucks, those people sucked' and then avoid anyone and anything having to do with it.
So chase people off and call them posers if you want. But if your community starts dwindling, don't be fucking shocked.

(i feel like analyzing stuff again so here we go) kaz is smart because he knows people. he loves puzzles, loves locks, loves taking things apart to figure out how they work. he says in soc that you figure people out like you figure anything else out, by taking it apart. kaz is smart because he finds enough out about people to make assumptions.
he knows what people will do, and often times it leaves the ones being duped going "how did he do that? how did he know?" kaz never truely knows something will 100% happen, he's just assuming it will and is almost always right.
in the begining of soc, when the crows are breaking matthias out of hellgate, kaz assumes wrong, though. he knows that jesper has a reputation for being late, so he assumes that jesper will take to the task of releasing the animals like he will anything else he does, and be late doing it. he has, in some sense, taken jesper apart. he knows what jesper does, and he plans around this assumption, however ends up being wrong. nothing extremely consequential happens because of his assumption, but it proves that kaz will assume things with confidence.
a huge aspect to why kaz is so successful in his planning and overall schemes is because he knows how to make a good assumption. he has inej gathering him intel, which enables him to make such confident and correct guesses about how people will act.
one instance of kaz's assumptions being correct is the whole geels and 19 burstraat situation in the beginning of soc. when kaz threatens to burn down geels' lover's home, geels could have not cared, could have shot kaz right there, but he didn't. geels doesn't, and kaz continues very boldly facing him. why? because kaz knows how geels will act.
another instance is in ck when kaz kidnaps alys and uses her to get inej back. at this point, kaz knows how van eck will act. van eck has already duped kaz once, and i imagine after this one of the things kaz does to insure it never happens again is over analyzing and taking him apart. it works in this instance, because kaz has already seen how much van eck cares about a "worthy heir," and alys is literally holding that. kaz has taken van eck apart, and had figured him out enough to make a bold and correct act based on assumption.
all this to say, kaz thinks and thinks and thinks and is always thinking and picking everything apart, and that is the key to why he can get away with everything he does. and maybe one day his assumptions that make him so smart will fail him, and maybe one day they'll be fatally wrong.

I've been watching Luigi's Mansion videos so here's another bowuigi idea:
King Boo took over an abandoned building and managed to lure in and capture a bunch of Luigi's friends. As Luigi's making his way through he finds a portrait of Bowser, of all people. At first Luigi is like Not My Problem, but his conscience gets the better of him and he goes back to free him.
Turns out the abandoned building was one Bowser Jr. liked to use for graffiti practice, and Bowser got caught when he came looking for him. Luigi finds this out because as soon as he's free Bowser grabs him and starts demanding where his son is and what kind of petty trick is this and all this must be Mario's fault somehow! It isn't until he tosses Luigi aside and declares he'll tear the whole building down that Luigi manages to get a word in edgewise.
Normally he'd be all in favor of destroying the building because it's haunted and he hates it here, but he's not sure what'll happen to his friends OR Junior if Bowser accidentally takes the portraits down along with the walls. Bowser is like "I don't take orders from you! But... uh, if you know what's going on I guess I could let you fill me in."
Luigi does, Bowser storms off to do slightly less destroying, and Luigi finds him in another painting two rooms later.
After that Bowser decides he's in charge but he'll allow Luigi to take point. There's not much he can do against ghosts, and he's too big to use the Poltergust, but having him along helps Luigi feel less scared. If he's grabbed by something or caught in a trap, Bowser can just grab him right back. And there's no need to find hidden doors since Bowser can tear through most indoor walls without breaking a sweat.
They find Junior before Mario, and Bowser is like "okay thanks for the assistance, loser. Bye." Leaving Luigi alone again. He hadn't expected anything else but it still doesn't feel great. But when Luigi is cornered by a floor boss, Bowser ends up smashing through a window and coming to his rescue.
He says he only did it because it'll be funny to tell Mario he owes him one, but Luigi thanks him anyway.
They keep going as a team, even fighting King Boo together ("You thought I was gonna let you get away with kidnapping MY kid and harassing MY- ... rival's brother?") but when Luigi goes to finally free Mario from the last portrait Bowser makes an excuse and dips. Didn't he say this was all just so he could rub it in Mario's face?
Later, once everything is over and everybody's home, Junior sends Luigi a drawing of him and Bowser fighting ghosts. Luigi pins it to his fridge.

thinking abt how azi was truly crowley's sunlight through the millenniums. like, here's this demon who didn't mean to fall, who just asked questions and deep down he was still so good. and he is alone, he's the literally the emboidement of the first sin, and NOT by his own choosing. he's so alone and afraid and just wants a real conversation w someone, even if its an angel who'll most likely hate him. and here's the guardian of eden, who gave away his sword, that GOD gave to him, without asking a single question, to help the humans under his charge and he's kind to crowley and crowley is utterly fascinated. zira is basically the first protector, not only to adam and eve BUT CROWLEY TOO. he protects crowley from the first rain bc he's so fundamentally good and kind and crowley can't help seeking him out over the years. when they meet in rome, c is obviously far more withdrawn and angry bc of the things he's seen and was forced to do and there's az again, so happy to see him and even inviting him to dinner. everytime they met, even when crowley was saving azira, he also saved crowley by the simple act of being his friend.

The Mario movie was cute, best scenes are the ones with the bros just being. Bros.
Peppino is their cousin. That's it, that's the funny.
And per tradition? I guess? Some more (unfortunately Mario-less) doodles under the cut.
... Yeah. Twinsomnia again. These damn sibs are still on my brain. They're here to - Oh? Oh, Peppino's not a kid? They had the wrong address? Oh well. Might as well help him get through the tower!
Something-something functioning as a single character, something-something throwing each other around, something-something basically Gus and Brick.
Some more self-indulgent crossover'ish nonsense...
Same mirror, same man, different time, different reflections. Shoutout to @/rascal-rose for the idea of young Peppino having curly hair!! I cherish him.
And some wholesome stuff to top it off. (I feel like my handwriting is especially bad on the last one, so just in case, it goes "Buongiorno, ranocchio. Do you want the coffee?".)
