🇺🇲 🏦 🚨 U.S. NATIONAL DEBT RISES ABOVE $34 TRILLION FOR FIRST TIME

The United States Federal Government's total public debt has risen above $34 trillion for the first time.

According to a U.S. Treasury statement from Friday, the Federal Government's total public debt topped $34 trillion on Thursday.

Maya MacGuineas, President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, said in a statement that "the U.S. gross national debt hit $34 trillion dollars Friday, which is barely three months after it hit $33 trillion, and this truly a depressing achievement."

"There is not a single economic reason to add to the debt at the rate we are, but sadly our political leaders are unwilling to make the changes we need to turn the fiscal situation around," MacGuineas added.

Not even taking into account how much US debt China holds (currently 870 billion dollars) and concentrating strictly on trade, I'm not sure why some politicians are so comfortable with the "enemy" rhetoric. Pay off the debt and manufacture/assemble your own products, then you can talk shit. Or as my mom used to say, "Don't let your mouth write a check your ass can't cash."

But we all know how this story will play out: the debt ceiling will likely be raised, as the alternative would create havoc in global financial markets. For more see this article in Foreign Policy.

Palestine, Israel, and the U.S.A., A disaster in the making.

This minority, as it is, even violent at some cases, deserve freedom. It doesn't matter the circumstances that the state of Israel has created. Israel started this by oppressing them for years. Now we see outrage.

All of these protesters in times square are in conflict. Let them settle out these problems among themselves. U.S. government doesn't need to be interfering with the accords of a place thousands of miles away.

The U.S. Gov needs to get out of the middle east and most foreign countries, I am fine with a few in Europe. This interference will just propel both sides to cause more atrocities to each other.

Our nation at its current stance is in position to go to war in the middle east yet again. This is so much spending that could be spent on the people of America and out own NATIONAL DEBT.

TOTAL US PUBLIC DEBT IN 2022 WAS $31 TRILLION

MEANING THE UNITED STATES IS RESPONSIBLE FOR JUST A HAIR OVER ONE THIRD OF GLOBAL PUBLIC DEBT.

Understand that no other country on earth can print money and just spend it the way the United States does because the rest of the world doesn't have sovereignty over the World Reserve Currency.

If any other country attempted to print money and manipulate markets the way the United States does, first off we'd sanction them for having an independent policy, and secondly, it would rapidly result in runaway inflation.

But because the US has sovereignty over the World's Reserve Currency, the United States can and does manipulate markets and print money however it likes, and the rest of the world, especially in the Global South, are literally forced to subsidize this US debt by buying US dollars at horrible exchange rates that favor Western countries in order to do trade, oftentimes with countries that have NOTHING to do with the United States because that's just how the international system has been designed (by the US and UK) to force countries to trade in dollars using Western banks.

And this advantage is baked into the system itself.

This means foreign countries in the Global South are subsidizing the very Imperialism oppressing them, subsidizing the 900 or so US military bases around the world.

US national debt reaches $34T for first time in history

The US Treasury Department said on Tuesday that the US federal government’s total public debt reached $34 trillion for the first time, as members of Congress prepare for another series of battles over federal funding in the coming weeks.

The Daily Treasury Statement for Friday showed that the total public debt outstanding rose to $34.001 trillion from $33.911 on Thursday.

On 30 September, the Senate passed a last-minute bill to fund the federal government through 17 November, narrowly avoiding a shutdown.

On 17 November, President Joe Biden signed a temporary spending bill to avert a government shutdown and postpone a fight with Republicans in Congress over the federal budget for the new year.

Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a fiscal watchdog group, called the $34 trillion federal debt figure “a truly depressing achievement,” attributing it to political leaders’ unwillingness to make difficult fiscal choices. She said:

“We remain hopeful that policymakers will take further measures to reduce our borrowing either by raising taxes, reducing spending, or creating a fiscal commission – or ideally by doing all of the above.”
