This time I used watercolours, and Im really happy how this turned out 🥰 Watercolours are my favorite painting media 🙌 but for details and lettering I used acrylics and some inks.

Violins are still a bitch to draw, but I think I did a pretty decent job 🤔🙈🎻 what do you think?

Equality was just an excuse

Okay i was rereading Any Way The Wind Blows last night, from there on i went into deep dive. i read up so many lovely and amazing insights about the three books and my mind opened up to certain things I obviously missed on first read.

Like everyone i want to dig up that Mage and stab him with needles until he begs for forgiveness and then we all stab him more and send him to nadir.

i just realised while reading all these takes and insights, that the mage used Equality as an excuse! He took the historical books from old families, he raided houses and created his police all to make sure equality was in practice. None of this was his true motive ever! He just wanted to control the school and by extension Simon.

Simon’s birth is anything but about equality! I always wondered why Lucy fell in love with this man! Yes we all concluded it was because he manipulated, isolated and gaslit her into the idea of us against the world. But there must be a starting point right? On how Lucy was warmed to him and was slowly made to think eloping with him was the best option? Us against the world doesn’t happen overnight, a person needs steady flow of manipulated facts as brain food which leaves them blindsided and cut off from rest of the world.

i think it started because of Jaime Sailsbury. Lady Ruth tells us, Jaime was not accepted into the school because of his reading and writing issues. Wartford has always been careful about whom to take in before the Mage hijacked it. Magic is difficult and needs aptitude and also depends on innate ability, if you are below average you have a hard time, as we learned from Daphne’s passing remarks via Baz, and how Mr. Bunce too suffered from that inferiority complex not being magically brilliant, hence they both fell for Smith-Richard’s words. But when you are even below average and not let into the magical world, there will people who are upset or angry or sad behalf of you.

At some point in their school days, Lucy must have expressed her upset or anger about Wartford’s policy. She must have felt her brother deserved a chance. Then young Mage’s idea of changing world and making it equal must have impressed young impressionable Lucy too, and people like her who had someone with low magic abilities or were low magic ability holders! So I think he slowly fed her ideas of how he was going to change the world! Bring equality to all magical creatures and open gates of Wartford for everyone.

But if he truly believed in equality he wouldn’t have made the love of his life a sacrificial lamb. He just wanted a equally strong blood line to birth the chosen one. Lucy comes from an old magical family that has an Excalibur passed down as heirloom! By no means Lucy was weakling or inferior blood! He needed that magical gene-make-up to have this chosen one. Because it would be hard to carry on a pregnancy where the child was conceived on powerful ritual runes and spells under some equally diabolical moon night! The mage needed Lucy because she was from a lineage to carry full term. But to win her over he showed her the equality dream, made her believe his way was the only way and only their golden boy could end the nonexistent treat to world of magic!

All he ever wanted was power! Since he couldn’t take down old families and have his own system that easily, he began to exploit an noble idea of equality to corner the old families ( by no means they are good either). He opened Wartford to magical creatures to deliberately tip the power scale the old families had held. Yet none of it was done with heart of an educator who felt the need to protect or provide care for the not gifted!

The mage is a piece of rubbish and we should’ve set him on fire!

Literatura: Carry On (2015)

No hace mucho hubo aquí un posteo sobre varios libros interesantes con protagonistas LGTBQ que te pueden atrapar y ésta, la obra de Rainbow Rowell, estaba incluida en la nómina. Aquí llegó la hora de ofrecer una breve reseña para que, en el caso de que aún no lo conozcas, te hagas una idea de lo que te espera (que es muy bueno) al leer esta novela.

Puede que Harry Potter se convierta en una constante en tu memoria mientras recorres estas páginas porque tiene varias cosas en común (por ejemplo: el hecho de que el protagonista, Simon Snow, sea un mago que asiste desde sus once años a la escuela de magia de Watford, regida por alguien a quien llaman "El Hechicero", respetado por muchos y detestado por otros). Por lo tanto, te recomiendo que te olvides de todo lo que la historia pergeñada por J.K. Rowling te cuenta sobre el mundo mágico. Esto es otra cosa. El lenguaje es más llano (palabrotas incluidas), la tecnología de los Normales (los que no tienen magia) es aceptada y de uso corriente por los seres mágicos y el enemigo a vencer se llama Humdrum, un ente poderoso similar en apariencia al propio Simon.

Inicialmente concebido como el personaje ficticio de un fanfic escrito por otro personaje ficticio (Cath, proveniente de la novela "Fangirl", de Rainbow Rowell), Simon Snow Salisbury es el mago más poderoso que jamás haya existido. A sus diecisiete años, ya tiene una novia (Agatha, que luego formaría pareja con otra chica), una mejor amiga (Penélope) y hasta un enemigo mortal, el apuesto vampiro Tyrannus Basilton "Baz" Grimm Pitch, miembro de una aristocrática familia mágica e hijo de la (¿asesinada?) anterior directora del Watford. Simon y Baz conforman una enemistad mortal que tiene su tregua cuando el fantasma de Natasha, madre del vampiro, se presenta para pedir el esclarecimiento de su muerte. El tiempo confirmará entre ambos una relación que parecía imposible, pero que el mundo mágico necesita para vencer al Humdrum y a otras grandes amenazas.

Carry On Just Being

Ive been wondering what to write tday for #CarryOn 2nd Anni. S’thing poignant and meaningful abt brotherhood, friendship, family, love, commitment perhaps, but when it came down to it & I rewatched Dean's death scene again and sobbed uncontrollably at its beauty, intimacy & delivery I realised none of these words truly captured the end of this 15 yr journey.

What captured it was actually what Cas had said so perfectly in his passing. It was abt the ‘just being’, & that’s what Dean & Sam did; they were there, just being who they were, together to the end. They were always being present, whether that was in each other’s lives, in the lives of those they loved, worked with & even hunted, as well as in our lives as characters in a story.

We as fans have a ‘profound bond’ with this series; its characters & the actors that portrayed them & we will all keep on ‘being’ present because that’s what it means to be human & communally share this journey together.

Thank you….for everything.

Odio a Rainbow Rowell y aquí esta el porque.

Yo era una persona normal hasta hace unos meses, nunca fui una lectora ávida, es más, con trabajos era una lectora casual, no lo se, nunca tuve esa cultura de lectura, ni la concentración necesaria, o eso creía yo hasta que un día en abril me tope con el libro de #carryon (en español) no se porque, no se que fue pero algo en el me llamó así que lo compre....y desde entonces caí en un hoyo profundo de lectura.

Como dije antes, no soy una gran lectora y cuando vi su tamaño honestamente creí que me tardaría meses, pero para mi propia sorpresa no fue así....me tarde días! Me dormí a las 4 de la mañana por leerlo! Y en menos de una semana lo habia terminado y estaba buscando el segundo.

Con #waywardson no me fue mejor....lo acabe en un bendito día, un día! Obviamente en ese mismo día estaba buscando el tercer libro...libro que para mi desgracia no había salido en español (de hecho creo que aún no ha salido) así que como maldita desesperada me puse a buscarlo y solo estaba en línea en inglés y en pasta dura.

Una parte floja y un tanto tacaña me decía " espera a que salga en español" pero otra, obsesiva y traumada me decía "para que esperar, sabes inglés, necesitamos saber que pasa en la historia, es más compra la trilogía en inglés,esta relativamente barata y es mejor que tener dos y uno"

Creo que no hace falta decir que mitad ganó, y desde entonces como una droga, he estado buscando nuevos libros que leer, nuevas historias. Todo mi dinero está pensado para nuevos libros e historias y todo por culpa de #rainbowrowell y sus adictivas y hermosas historias que incluso cuando no tengo nada mejor que hacer simplemente con agarrar uno de sus libros y abrilos en alguna de las páginas marcadas y leer aquellas escenas me da felicidad. Ustedes no odian eso ?
