adding to my tags because i’ve been thinkin a lot about the post i just reblogged and have more thoughts:
i’ll be real, the more i saw ‘hey adhd influencers are so annoying’ the more i worried that i was unconsciously contributing to the spreading reputation of adhd folks as annoying and over-pathologizing every symptom they experience
and then i realized. i am not a goddam influencer or life coach or representative. obviously i have some obligation as someone who cares about myself and the people that like my comics to not spread harmful ideology or blatant misinformation but i never intended myself to be a “’increase your productivity!!’ blog OR a ‘if you have XYZ you have adhd!’ blog. and i do this for fun, and originally started this blog bc i had a lot of internalized shame and self loathing about my adhd and thought if i could make it funny i might have less of that. let’s get real! and it worked!
i’ve obviously done this kind of thing— (hey these symptoms might be adhd!) a lot before in my life & on this blog, but there’s more to it than trying to be an “influencer” or whatever. a term that didn’t even exist when i started this blog!
i felt very isolated trying to find out if i had any mental problems & what have you originally because of large advice (etc) blogs with staunchly anti self Dx views at the time
so i overcorrected when i DID get dxed and tried to validate everyone who was like me. and of course. not the best course of action always for the ol mental health. tried to be the source of positivity and jokes that i didn’t see because the online adhd presence was near non-existent.
and anyway. i make a lot of fun of myself & the way m brain works in my comics obviously but it is not my obligation to... how do you say.... not be annoying online.
because if folks interpret MY little jokes as a strict guide to diagnosis. that’s on them, really, not me. i also believe “making adhd your entire personality” is a non-issue. so what if people find out they have it and get over excited with identifying as adhd. saying this as someone who DID do it. criticism of this gives the same vibes as people being annoyed that young queers make “being queer” their whole personality. im very obviously more than a guy with adhd, and id reckon other adhd comic artists are too. (im friends with a lot of them!) it’s fine to post about it online.
anyway. i just don’t take myself too seriously and i’m a comic artist for myself first! and you know what, i’ve been considered annoying my entire life. what do i care if a few more folks think i’m annoying. neurotypical or not

hi i have more idea ( ・ิω・ิ)
i am writing this at 4am so apologies for the holes but anyway
so i've seen a few fics where the creator grants someone's wish or cures someone's illness or something as proof of their divinity
what if we flipped it around though? it is often expressed in fiction that divine intervention offsets the natural order of the universe. thus, i bring you this:
creator!reader arriving in teyvat first and being recognized and placed on the throne.
however, as much as it pains you to do it, you must strictly abide by one single rule: god must not meddle in the affairs of mortals.
prayers go unheard, pleas unanswered.
one day, a being who bears a striking resemblance to the creator emerges from seemingly out of nowhere, granting wishes left and right.
suddenly farmers are seeing healthier crops, clinics finding themselves empty.
you're skeptical. suspicious. not just anyone is capable of such a feat. just who is this person—no, entity?
the divine call it an abuse of power. mortals call it a miracle.
people begin to question the validity of your identity. why is it that this mysterious being who, unfortunately for you, happens to look exactly like you holds so much power that they've never seen you demonstrate?
naturally, people's faith in you begin to waver.
for all they know, you could be a fake. masquerading as their god to gain their adoration and devotion.
and eventually your very own people begin to turn on you.
- death loop anon
ohhh, that’s interesting!
gods don’t intervene with mortal affairs, after all, and the idea of reader being like “you want them? fine.” and then promptly fucking off to like sumeru to play w the aranara is hilarious.
after all, their creator is a benevolent god, right? they should heal the ill and cure disease, not just sit there, right?
(they would have died anyway, your healing would have just prolonged the inevitable. better to die naturally than be suspended by the divine, less human than you were before.)
and this new ‘god,’ they fit the bill so much better! deeply intertwined with the people of teyvat (can’t you see it’s manipulation?) and (seemingly) emotionally invested, outright hostile towards you for your callousness and aloof nature.
(they’ll find out. they’ll know eventually. those they’ve cured are alive by corruption, taking a poison as a cure.)
but what do you know, right? you’re just the god of all, just the one that created the disease your people suffer from. what do you know of medicine or society, you who have crafted those very concepts by hand? what do you know of empathy or compassion, you who gifted humans with this ability eons ago?
what do you know, you who leaves in exile, you who hardly puts up a fight—and surely never cared at all?
the archons beg you to stay, not to leave them under the jurisdiction of whatever that is that’s wearing your face, but you wave them off with a smile.
“i’ll return,” you promise, hand twitching slightly as yet another of your beloved creations falls to the fraud’s toxins. “they are unsustainable.”
“then why not stop them now? why not prove your point and make your move first, why let the world suffer?”
“isn’t this what they wanted? who am i, to say what they need, hm? i am no dictator. i am not both judge and jury, nor executioner. if the people cry for a slow death, then i will not deny them.”
“please, divine one… you know as well as us that they are misguided. give us time-“
“to do what, barbatos? we have tried to convince the people of the truth. if they turn a blind eye to the long-term in favor of short moments of bliss, then… well, then i suppose that’s a fault in my design.”
“do not blame yourself for their fallacies-“
“i’m not. i’m just a bit disappointed they haven’t put it together yet. humans are bright people, and yet so… is egotistic the word?”
“selfish?”
“no, not selfish… ah, no matter. this will be resolved within a millennium, of this you have my word.”
“…and if it isn’t?”
“then i will intervene myself. you have nothing to fear.”
“my god…”
“all will be well in the end, kusanali. i will not forget this promise. if the imposter isn’t driven out of the people’s accord, then i shall do so myself.”

there’s an alternate universe out there where when you reach the sanctum in totk when “zelda” does her little cutscene she ends it by throwing a dagger at you and it whistles just past link’s head as he reacts in shock before readying himself for battle and then you regain control of him as a boss bar appears at the top of the screen that reads “Puppet Zelda, Twisted Memory”
and Link is forced to fight the one he swore he would protect and has been chasing after the entire game, and instead of a sage offering him warnings or encouragement the Zelda belittles him and accuses him of abandoning her and failing her and leaving her to die
and her attacks at the beginning of the fight are those bursts of bright light and the daggers but as you whittle down her health and begin stage two the facade begins to slip and the light bursts are replaced with darkness and she oozes gloom wherever she moves and her movements become more stiff and skeletal and broken
and then once you’ve defeated her she rises into the air all broken and limp but still looking at you and says that it doesn’t matter that she wasn’t zelda because zelda is still gone, trapped in the past with no way to come home she could be burried anywhere in hyrule, and she summons a dark bow of light and draws it back as a red-purple bulging mass begins to form at the arrow tip
and that’s when the sages turn up, sidon unleashing a wave that pushes the bow aside, tulin firing an arrow that riju uses to cast down lightning, and yunobo at link’s side, and they all have their own line of dialogue that boils down to ‘don’t worry link, there’s no way that’s zelda, she would never say those horrible things, and we know she’s still out there because you heard her true voice, so don’t lose hope!’
and then zelda dissolves into gloom with a fit of that uncanny laughter and that’s when that megamind-style ganondorf head appears and makes his whole speech about how they have no idea who he is or was and you get his memory and that he has waited all his imprisonment to battle against link and prove that he is the strongest in hyrule, ‘and then you will fall, link, as rauru and zelda did, knowing that hyrule falls with you. Come to the Depths beneath this wretched castle, and meet your fate, o destined hero.’
and then the zelda-gloom melts away into a heart, and the sages have that post-battle talk about re-grouping at lookout landing, and tell link not to do anything rash because they will find the real zelda together
