TL;DR: Anyone want to make a website like Duo Lingo for learning and becoming proficient at someone else's pronouns?
Dear Trans Programming Community (of which I know is vast) or Allies,
I had this idea the other day of a website where you can plug in someone's pronouns and their name and practice using their name and pronouns in various sentences sort of like Duo Lingo but to learn and become more comfortable with someone's pronouns. (I am not a program savvy person, though I know I could learn. This website idea is quite complex though so I thought if I could outsource it someone might feel inspired.)
Practicing things by saying them out loud has always been helpful in creating new patterns in the brain. And especially pronouns like "they/them" (which are mine) or neo pronouns (which I can definitely use some practice with) it can take a while for the brain to go through the process of replacing the assumed/past pronoun with the correct pronoun every time before it's able to bypass that pattern and be able to connect the person directly with the correct pronoun. (Same way you learn someone's new name.)
I feel like this would be helpful because allies/accomplices and friends often go through that awkward stage of stuttering/guilt (their own) when learning to adjust their language. This website might be able to mitigate that uneasy phase of learning so that the person whose pronoun is being corrected might not have to go through as much public discomfort. (I recently had a coworker who I adore get very angry at being reminded of my pronoun because it triggered the negative way her language was corrected as child by her parents. She wanted to learn my pronouns without being prompted. This website would be an option.)
I suppose one way it could work is to have a page that is basic grammar having to do with the specific pronoun, then a quiz on the grammar. Then have sentences to practice verbally using pronouns and then, last, have fill in the blank sentences where you're expected to choose/fill in the appropriate pronoun and form of that pronoun included with the person's name. (Things could get tricky with people who don't have pronouns and go by their name alone. But I think there could be an option for that as well with some adjustments.)
I feel like the sooner we can teach those willing to learn how to be more comfortable learning pronouns without having to be put on the spot and feeling shame (that is then projected to us, who are the pronoun havers) the sooner it can become a more intrinsic part of our culture and society. And it takes us out of the equation for being in the firing range of those emotions. And it gives power to allies and accomplices to practice that allyship on their own time. So I hope there's an accomplice or trans person who feels led to take this project on. And I'd eventually like to see it in other languages as well!
So basically... It's a way for AI to (somewhat) be useful for the art community. Hear me out!
What I'm proposing as an idea is this; It'd be a website/app that analyzes your art, and critiques it while giving you helpful tips to make your art better, based off of ways that worked well for others! The AI wouldn't make its own art, and would only use the art it critiqued to help yours be better too! (Of course people would have to agree upon signing up to letting the website/app use its art for critiquing others.) (The website would also give credit to the creator by automatically putting their username on the bottom left of the timelapse)
So basically I think the process would go like this-
1- Sign up & make an account
2- Submit a timelapse of you drawing your art piece.
3- Let it process the information (How you drew certain things, anatomy, colors and shading, etc)
4- It rates your art out of a certain number of points. Each category gets rated out of 10 (Accuracy, Color theory, proportions, art style).
5- Gives you tips & tricks for making your art better, even sending you a clip of someone else's timelapse if there is one!
I'm not good at programming, but I think it'd be pretty cool! Programmers, you can make this if you want. Just a shower thought though, after all. But hey, it'd be a pretty cool way for AI to redeem itself in the art community! At least, it would be in my opinion!
i need a website for writing purposes where you could put in the injuries that a character has and a 3D model would show what that would realistically look like
(or what happens to said character [eg. thrown against a wall or something] and the 3d model would have that done and you could see how injuries would effect them)
Do you know about my free web based sketch app that rotates random pose references? 🤔
It's called AdorkaStock Sketch and you can access it on desktop or mobile. It will adjust to fit your screen! On mobile you can scroll down to see the options.
There are currently just over 2,000 poses in rotation with more coming. You can change the timer, skip poses, sort with filters, or try predefined class modes.
The site is completely free and thanks to my Patrons I was recently able to remove third-party ads! If you turn off your ad blockers while using the site you will only see my own ads.
You can also make a free account which will allow you to collect a favorites list and set sketching goals.
Please check it out and use it as often as you need to for pose browsing, gesture warm ups, or long drawing sessions (just hit pause on any pose!)
Hope it's super useful for you. Happy drawing! 🎨✨
I am never inclined to make fun of tumblr's cheesy attempts to make money and generally support them even if you consider them cringe. Websites need money to operate and tumblr needs to find a way to make money consistently or it will cease to exist. I do not want tumblr to cease to exist, and the most common alternative method of making money is to collect and sell all of our personal data, which I do not want either. Websites that can support themselves via people willing to spend $25 bucks to commit to a bit is a sign of a brighter and more sustainable version of the internet.
Oh mah gawd. He doesn't let anyone touch him unless they're his friends.
If they aren't his friends, he'll either lean away or wipe off his hand. He hates being touched if he's not the one initiating it, to the point of wiping his sleeve off when Lucifer's hat just BARELY grazed against it.
He didn't wipe his shoulder off when Charlie stopped touching him either.
AND!!!
And!!!
Before You Say 'He did lean away', or 'She wasnt actually touching him, her hand was just near him', Take A Look At This!!
Look closely at how he moves when she splits them up. He doesn't lean away, she SHOVED him. She actively MOVED him. That wasn't an 'oh she's making contact with me, guess I should lean away', it was a 'well she's shoving me now, I'll shut up for a minute'.
Which also proves she WAS touching him. She couldn't have shoved him if she wasn't making contact.
He didn't lean away from it, he didn't retaliate. The ONLY people he lets touch him are people he cares for. And not only did she put her hand on his shoulder, she actively pushed him back, and he showed no sign of discomfort towards it. So why am I screaming about this?
Because he DOES care! It proves he cares for her. Don't get me wrong, I still think saying he's her 'dad' is a bit of a strech, but he does care enough to let her touch him. He doesn't dislike or even have a neutral opinion on her. She's his friend, even if just a little bit.
Just an edit to clarify; I know 'friends' is probably also not the best word to use, but it's just the easiest way for me to describe it.
A website that functions like a normal social media except you are randomly assigned 20 accounts you follow and they’re all following eachother. You can’t follow anyone new unless you want a completely new set of 20 people to follow and to loose the old ones. You can only see these 20 peoples posts and nobody else’s.
imagine: regulus and james being teachers at the same high school. reggie teaches french, of course, and requires everyone to only speak it in his classroom. his husband, james, loves to come bother him at every opportunity, and does so by reading out ridiculously saccharine poetry to him in shitty french in front of everyone. he's always kicked out by a scowling regulus that tells him to sleep on the couch that night (he does not) while trying (and failing) to hide the fact that he's blushing furiously because he knows james means every word of it.
