hm. im feeling a bit conflicted tonight.
so i'm updating my redbubble right now, adding some of the art i made this year and what not, but given i made a lot of deltarune art this year i didnt upload much.
and the thing is? should i add my deltarune stuff to redbubble?
keep in mind this isn't a matter of demand, it's because a while back i remember toby fox mentioning in this tumblr post a while back specifically stating not to put undertale/deltarune stuff on mass-producing sites like redubble.
but when i go into redbubble's search, i see a whole bunch of artists posting deltarune stuff anyway?? has there been a change regarding toby fox's views or like. are all of these artists at legal risk now

Update: It's been a while!
Hey all. Been quite a bit since I've been active here; lot of life stuff going on that's contributed to that, but most of it's resolved now and I'm planning a pretty active return to the scene imminently. I've got some announcements on that front that I'll try to keep brief, but I think anyone who's enjoyed my content in the past will be happy to hear them.
First and foremost, I'm going to be returning to file-making soon (end of 2023 or early 2024) with regularly scheduled releases. (My precise schedule is TBD, but I'm aiming to be release either once weekly or once fortnightly depending on how much of a backlog I can create.) I've got ideas/concepts for 20 files written out atm which would amount to either 5 months of weekly releases/10 months of fortnightly releases once written and recorded. But obviously some of those ideas might not work so well in practice/I'll obviously come up with new ones along the way too, so that number's in flux. I'm going to try to write and record ten before launching any of them, so that I don't leave a huge gap between them again. But I think you guys'll like them, there's something for everyone in what I'm planning to make. There'll be content like what I've made before, but sfw and nsfw, attending a variety of kinks I'm into.
Included in these releases are going to be updated versions of my more popular, previous files. At the moment, the files I am planning to remake are Chill Out, Bro; Blink's Good Boy; All Pups are Good Pups; and The Bigger You Are. Some of these I want to remake for reasons of audio quality, but others I straight up want to rewrite portions of to bring them more up to my current standards. I've run out of space on Soundcloud and a premium account is expensive, so I'm racking my brain for a better storage alternative. At the moment, Soundgasm is an OK backup, but I'm also considering just straight up trying Youtube/Tumblr's own audio system/Patreon's audio system on a free basis to see if they work alright. Speaking of which...
To support this expanded venture, I'm also going to be opening a Patreon + selling specific, exclusive files either by subscription to said Patreon or via platforms like Gumroad and other appropriate audio file vendors. I don't plan for all my content to be locked behind a paywall, of course. I'm planning some kind of dual channel release system where I have a certain amount of files that will be free, and then others behind subscription. But for those who don't like the idea of monthly subs, I'll be putting my Patreon-exclusive files on a third party purchase platform like Gumroad, Ko-Fi, or another suitable alternative. I appreciate that all my files previously having been free will make this annoying to some, but I am flat baroque... and realistically, each file being 4-10 hours of work (dependent on complexity) means that I really want to be seeing SOME income from this if I'll be putting a lot of time in. That's why at current, the final announcement I'm making is that:
I am now taking commissions. I've done 3 commissions in total at this point and had been keeping quiet about it while I didn't know what I was doing with the Jockout account generally, but I am now available to write and record custom hypnosis files for listeners. I'm hesitant to provide a flat rate because the cost of a file usually does come down to its complexity/length, but somewhere in the ballpark of 50-80 dollars is what I'm currently valuing the time spent on a file at, unless you want something crazy simple or crazy complicated that'll price outside that range. I'm in a Euro territory, so 50 dollars amounts to about 4 hours of minimum wage work here, which is pretty low for the amount of time a good file takes; but I appreciate that high barriers to entry are going to put people off, and I feel that way myself when commissioning. You can DM me here if you want to discuss a commission idea.
All in all, I'm pretty excited with what I hope will be the future trajectory of my page. I'm having fun learning more about hypnosis/exploring new ideas in writing, and I hope you'll all enjoy the fruits of that too! 'Til next time :)

Hello there! So, I'm still settling into my first year of college (oh boy) and I've determined that the time allotted in my schedule is too much for a normal part-time job. That being said, I do have spare time, it's just not in good places for me to get my homework done as well. I want to do well with college, but I also still need an income. So!
I am going to try doing commissions. They'll be written, of course. Fanfiction or fiction, whichever you prefer, but I'll get into more detail below the cut.
What can I request?
I'm a member of a few fandoms here on tumblr, and I've actually written fanfiction for Five Nights at Freddy's (of all options, I have the most experience with this one), Bendy and the Ink Machine, and Hollow Knight. I'd be willing to also try writing for Ace Attorney, Six of Crows, Stardew Valley, and Supernatural, since those are some of the fandoms I'm most familiar with.
I am experienced in writing plenty of regular fiction as well, so don't be shy about asking me to write stuff about OCs or just a general idea you had and wanted to see written out on the page. Just make sure you give me a prompt for what you'd like to see!
I can also do poetry. I don't write it as often (which is why you rarely see it on my blog), but I tend to write in free-verse, which is a fancy word for saying I don't follow poetry rules. I can follow poetry rules, but it'll probably take me longer to complete a poem.
I won't do 18+ content though. Sorry, but if I'm going to test that boundary, it'll be in my own time. Commissions are for the things I'm comfortable writing, and 18+ isn't that. So I will refuse to do any of that.
What about romance? Is that something you're comfortable writing?
I don't have full confidence in my ability to deliver good romantic stories right now. I can do a really slow burn, and I'm decent at romantic tension, but that tends to be more open for readers interpretation. You can request romance, but if it's not up to your standards, I apologize in advance.
What is your writing like?
I feel like this one kind of explains itself, but in case it doesn't, I have pieces of my writing scattered around two blogs and an Ao3 account. The blogs are @cloudwhisper23 and @cloudthenightguard, and the Ao3 account is under CloudWhisper23 as well. On both blogs, my writing tag is #cloud writes, which hopefully will make it easier for you to search for samples of my writing on both.
What about pricing? And expected time of delivery?
I write short stories on a 1,000+ basis, with the minimum being $10 USD, but I won't do more than 10,000, and I'd appreciate if you tipped me more than that (But you don't have to. I get that other people may not have much extra to give)
Poetry is a bit different though, and I'd be more willing to do it at $5 USD, but I'd prefer to write in free verse.
Payment will be done through PayPal, or Ko-Fi but depending on requests, I may be willing to consider other alternatives.
Naturally, the timing of delivery will depend on several factors. Obviously the shorter works are ones I can get to people in shorter periods of time, but depending on what I'm writing, it'll be a bit of experimentation on my part for certain things. I cannot promise an estimate without knowing what I'm meant to be writing. Certain things require further research, or knowledge about characters that I simply don't possess. If it's an OC issue, I'll ask directly, but as for more fandom based characters, I will likely do my own research.
If you have any questions I haven't covered, feel free to DM me or send an anonymous ask!
I am human, and I can't promise that I will think of every question you'll possibly ask. So please, if there's something you're not sure of, let me know so I can try to work through it with you. If you're not sure what you want, but you do know that you want something, we can brainstorm together to figure out what works best for you!

EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS!!
Hello! My name is Charlotte. I'm opening emergency commissions to raise money for not only surviving with rent and food, but also mostly because i need products for shaving, hair, clothing and medication related to HRT to help me with my transition as a female (Estrogen, Anti-androgen, etc..). So far i only work with commissions since i had trouble finding employment, but these commissions barely help me to get money for my rent, bills, food and almost nothing else is left to me for personal use. Sadly i cannot decrease the price of my commissions, it got to the point of being borderline unhealthy for me and decided to keep the prices the same as always since i cannot go any lower. Another reason why i'm asking you for help is because i don't have family support, my family are christians and they don't know that i'm a trans girl and i'm pretty sure they would reject me if they know i am transitioning. Looking at the bright side at least now i share a new place with roomates, one of them is a trans female and the other is a trans male and it's relieving that i live with people who not only understands my situation but also struggles with the same problems that i do, living with them make me feel comfortable. They're like a found family to me (i love my biological family but sadly they won't love me back once they realize). I really don't want to do this but i still haven't found a job and again the money that i get is mostly used for rent, bills and food. So far i recieved 3 calls for job interviews, which none of them accepted me and is really making me feel desperate. I am really sorry for having to open this, but lots of stuff is adding up to my personal life and i feel this is my last resort when i feel everything is falling apart. Any kind of support is appreciated, even reblogging this is good enough. Thank you so much for reading this.
If you want to support me you can visit my Ko-Fi site, alternatively you can DM me on Twitter, Discord (lottepurrs) or here. Any kind of support is appreciated!

Boku no Hero Academia - wear your heart on your sleeve (and treat mine gently)
I apparently only wrote two drabbles for my Patreon in 2020, but given the state of the world at the time, I hope I’m forgiven for that. A new year is here, however, and that means last year’s writing can now be seen by all of you! If you want to see more stories like this before next year, then consider pledging to my Patreon!
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia
Characters: Yamada Hizashi | Present Mic, Kayama Nemuri | Midnight, Aizawa Shouta | Eraserhead
Rating: Teen Audiences
Alternate Universe: Magical Descent and Mythical Creatures
Summary:  Original Prompt (Given by Patron Istas): And, hmm, for something different. Aizawa/Yamada Selkie AU. I've been loving the mermaid stories starting to float around, but you can never have too many Selkies. Wasn't there a post a while back about someone who casually gave a person their coat back and ended up Selkie married?
Word Count: 2,626

                                                ⁂
Yamada Hizashi liked to think of himself as a remarkably unbothered teenager who didn’t often feel self-conscious when it came to his day-to-day life. Why would he, after all, when he was confident in himself, his abilities, and who he was and what he could do? He was a selkie who attended U.A. -- the best school in the country for those of magical and mythical descent.
While U.A. wasn’t the only school, it was by far the most popular one, as well as one of the few who helped students control and harness their powers instead of just teaching them how to hide them away. Hizashi had made it into the school on his own merits, too, even with his… unique family heritage. He had nothing whatsoever to be ashamed or embarrassed about.
At least, he thought he didn’t, until he had gained a best friend in the form of Kayama Nemuri, a classmate and succubus who enjoyed seducing people way too much and had no filter whatsoever when it came to destroying his hopes and dreams.
“Seriously, Yamada, you’re such an idiot.” As it was, Kayama was once again yelling at him as they ate lunch, Hizashi picking at this food more than actually eating it. “You can’t just go around dropping your coat everywhere and hoping someone will find it and enter into some magical true love spell with you!”
“Okay, first of all, that is not how it works at all.” Hizashi stabbed viciously at one of his sushi rolls, wishing he could throw it at Kayama’s head. He would if he knew she wouldn’t just try to kill him for it. “And besides, it’s not like I lost my coat or dropped it. I just… strategically draped it somewhere where someone was likely to see it and return it.”
“Dumbass,” Kayama snorted, stealing one of his sushi rolls for herself. “You’re a selkie. You need your coat to use your most basic powers. The teachers are gonna keep getting pissed at you if you keep ‘draping it’ somewhere and not having it for classes.”
Hizashi huffed, looking down at the spotted, fur seal coat that he had tossed across his legs after giving up hope for the day. It seemed to be radiating as much defeat as Hizashi felt. “Well, then, excuse me for trying to find my true love.”
“Hey, did I ever say there was anything wrong with trying to find your true love or mate or whatever?” Kayama looked insulted, pointing her chopsticks at him with a scowl. “I am in full support of true, absolute love, but in your case your coat just magic mind controls whoever picks it up-”
“It does not!” Hizashi snapped, fearing his glare looked more like an upset pout than anything else. Kayama’s smirk certainly seemed to make it seem like he was pouting rather than glaring. “That’s not how selkies -- or selkie magic -- works. Yeah, sure, there are stories about it, but a selkie’s coat can’t be stolen.”
“Really?” Kayama blinked, looking surprised before she set down her chopsticks and gave him her full attention. While anyone else would be a babbling idiot at having the full attention of a succubus -- even a teenage one -- Hizashi only rolled his eyes. “Alright, then, explain it to me. Why do you keep leaving your coat around like that?”
“It’s… We can give our coats to other people to hold onto, if we choose to, but only a few people can touch a selkie’s coat without experiencing extreme pain.” Hizashi pursed his lips, crossing his arms as he thought back to when he had first been told about what having his coat really meant. “I think Mom described it like lightning if you touch a selkie’s coat without their permission and aren’t meant for it.”
“Alright, magical matchmaking coat. I’m with you so far,” Kayama laughed, which, alright. That was a lot better than her mocking him or accusing his coat of magical mind control. “So only you and your ‘true love’ can pick up the coat without feeling that pain?”
“And the parents of the selkie,” Hizashi put in. “Sometimes siblings, but only close siblings, I think, and only when they’re young. But, yeah, it’s- It’s destiny. Our coats… They’re like a part of our hearts.” A part off their heart and a piece of their soul; that was how their coats worked.
Hizashi dropped his hands to run through the fur of his coat, feeling warmth and safety and home as he closed his eyes and took the feeling in for a moment. He couldn’t help but to remember the stories his Mom had told him about what would happen when the one he was destined to be with picked up his coat.
It wouldn’t just be warmth and safety, but it would be fierce devotion, and understanding, and the knowledge that this person, whoever they were, would want to stay by his side; no matter what. It wasn’t ensnaring someone, but it was finding the one person that he knew he would be able to love with no fear or doubt.
Looking back up at Kayama, Hizashi lowered his voice to something more serious, “It’s not just ‘true love’ or ‘my mate’ it’s…” Hizashi trailed off, fingers digging into his coat more tightly. “It’s the one person who will never doubt me, or leave me, and always stick by me for me, no matter… no matter who I am.”
There was a moment of silence, Kayama clearing her throat and patting his shoulder lightly, “Well, hey, then you’re in the perfect place to be looking, don’t you think? U.A. is full of cute, sweet little nerds who would love to be your one true love. Why, I bet the next bubbly-eyed, gap-toothed cutie that we see will be your true love, no doubt about it.”
“You think so?” Hizashi knew he sounded weak -- vulnerable -- but he couldn’t stop himself from asking the question. Kayama could be a lot, but she was also one of the few he could call an honest friend. She knew what it would mean to him to have more of those, even if she joked about it.
“Absolutely,” Kayama said sincerely, giving him a small smile. “Have a little more faith, lover-boy. You’ll find your true love before you know it.”
It was just what Hizashi wanted to hear and believe in more than anything else.
It was also, he knew, something that wasn’t likely to happen soon.
Not considering who he was.
Not at U.A.
“Well, hey, if it isn’t our favorite little mutt.” Hizashi grunted as his back hit the wall hard enough to force him to bite back a yelp of pain, instead putting on his best glare. “Aw, what’s the matter, mutt? Aren’t you happy to see us?”
“Yeah, c’mon, Yamada, isn’t it nice to finally have someone who’ll talk back to you?” The three who had him surrounded were all upperclassmen who Hizashi had never bothered to learn the names of. They were also complete and utter assholes who believed he didn’t deserve a place in U.A. Well, not many did, but most chose to at least not say anything about it. “Not many want to talk to a siren, after all.”
“Hey, now,” one of them frowned mockingly, voice ‘sympathetic.’ “He’s only half siren, you know.” The look aimed at him turned cruel, but it was nothing Hizashi hadn’t seen directed at him before. “Then again, considering the other half is some dopey little fuck who can barely do anything, I’m not sure if that’s better or worse.”
They all laughed, as if something hilarious was said, Hizashi gritting his teeth as he glared down the one holding him, growling out a quiet, “Let me go.”
“Oh! The mutt has some balls!” With that he was twisted around and thrown to the floor, Hizashi swearing as he felt a jolting pain from his wrist where he caught himself as his coat slid off his shoulders and bunched around his arms, tangling and trapping him on the floor. “Come on then, mutt. You gonna finally fight back for once?”
The laughter started up again, one of them grinning widely, “Think he will? If he fights back, we can get him kicked out so fast. What’d that look like to the parents, you think, a siren mutt attacking a bunch of kids?”
“I think it’d look pretty bad,” the obvious leader said, taking a step forward. Before Hizashi could panic and try to scramble away he, and the other three it looked like, were all startled by the black cat standing in front of Hizashi and giving a warbling cry. “The fuck is this?”
The cat looked like any other cat at first glance, but a closer look screamed magic. Hizashi doubted it was a shapeshifter student, since shifting wasn’t allowed in the halls, but a familiar, maybe? He didn’t know any kids with a cat familiar, though-
“Oh? That’s unfortunate.” A new voice echoed down the halls, the bullies whirling around in surprise while Hizashi leaned to the side to peek around them. Half a dozen feet away was a kid he had never seen before, maybe a first year or possibly even a second year like him. His hair was long, shaggy, and black as the cat in front of Hizashi, red eyes piercingly looking between each and every one of them as a sharp smile climbed up his face. “Looks like a black cat crossed your path.”
“Yeah? Is that a fucking threat?” Jeez, how unoriginal. Hizashi couldn’t believe these were the bullies he got stuck with in the drama that was his life. Couldn’t he have gotten tormented by someone with at least two brain cells? “Doesn’t seem like you know how things work around here.”
“Really? Seems just like any other school to me,” the kid drawled, eyes flicking over to once more look at Hizashi. “A bunch of self-entitled kids with rich, demanding parents with expectations that can’t be met, so instead they take it out on whoever makes the easiest punching bag.”
Damn. That was harsh, but, well, it wasn’t exactly untrue. Stigma worked against Hizashi just enough that anything blamed on him would usually be believed. Looking back at the cat, Hizashi blinked at seeing the cat staring back at him with equally red eyes. A soft purr left the cat a moment later and Hizashi had to resist the urge to coo and draw attention to himself.
“-if you don’t get the fuck out of here, kid.” Ah, verbal threats. So effective and witty, truly. The new guy, whoever he was, seemed to think the same, giving a snort of laughter.
“Am I supposed to be scared?” That smile was nothing except threatening, not even fading in the slightest when the main leader of the trio raised his hand, palm extended outwards, with a smirk. Hizashi didn’t bother hiding his wince as, while he didn’t know what the kid was exactly, he knew he had fire powers. He had felt them far too many times to not know how much they could hurt.
Whoever this new guy was, Hizashi made a note to find him and try to help heal his burns after he ran off -- except he wasn’t running off. He wasn’t getting burned, either. He was just staring at the bully in front of him, smile growing while the bully looked more and more terrified as the seconds passed.
There were no streaks of flashing fire and there was no smell of burning air and ash. There was only a terrified face and gleeful red eyes followed by a quiet, “I’ll ask you again. Is that all?”
Just like that the trio of assholes were running off and disappearing around the corner, Hizashi not too surprised by their reactions. He’d be pretty terrified, too, if he had someone angry at him that could block his powers. Actually, he might still end up being terrified, depending on how the kid felt about mutts.
Hesitant in looking back at him, Hizashi frowned to himself as he noticed the boy had gray eyes instead of the red ones that he swore he had seen. Maybe that was a part of his power- “You alright?”
“Huh? Oh-! Yeah.” Hizashi raced to stand up, tripping and struggling over his coat before he managed to get himself free. “Sorry- Sorry, uh, yeah- Thanks, I mean. For, um… helping.” Hizashi tried to keep his head up instead of turning around and slamming his face into the wall like he so desperately wanted to do.
“Good to hear,” the kid laughed, a smile twitching on his lips as his cat -- familiar? -- raced over and up his side before curling around his shoulders. “Aizawa Shouta. I just started here.”
“Hell of an entrance,” Hizashi laughed, wincing at how breathless and smitten he sounded -- which he shouldn’t. The guy was just being nice- Aizawa Shouta was being nice. “I- Yamada. Yamada Hizashi.”
Clearing his throat, Hizashi fumbled over his words for a few moments before nervously approaching Aizawa and skirting around him, “I’ll just, uh, go. You know. To class. And stuff.” He was a disaster. Why was Hizashi allowed to exist around others? He was half-siren and the only thing he could charm were the neighborhood cats when he fed them tuna!
“Yamada.” Freezing in his steps, Hizashi hesitantly looked behind him, eyes going wide as he saw Aizawa heading towards his coat which he had stupidly left on the floor after standing up and letting it slip off him. Before he could even open his mouth to warn Aizawa to not touch it, he was bending down and picking it up and…
His mom hadn’t even begun to explain the feelings of the right person touching his coat. It was warmth and safety, but it was as if every good feeling at once was swirling through him, heady and overwhelming and enough to take his breath away. It was every bad feeling he had ever had brushed away, wiped clean from his mind like they had never existed in the first place.
It was peace and the simplicity of being and sand spilling between his toes and ocean water lapping at his feet and salt sharp and bitter on the tip of his tongue and a fire roaring away in a hearth and the moon rising far across the waves where the sun had disappeared long ago.
It was a shy, soft smile with fingers that brushed against his own as his coat his skin his heart his soul was given back to him with such care and concern. It was Aizawa Shouta, his husband his true love his mate his friend, greeting him with a soft, “It was nice to meet you.”
“Ye- Yeah… You, too.” Hizashi watched as Aizawa gave him another smile before walking past him down the hall. Hizashi didn’t waste a heartbeat before he was ripping his phone out and pulling up Kayama’s number, texting her desperately and they needed to go ring shopping as soon as school let out because he had just met his husband and his husband was amazing and deserved the best ring that Hizashi’s, admittedly, small allowance could buy.
Looking up from where Kayama was texting him and calling him an idiot, Hizashi felt his heart skip half a dozen beats as his husband, starting to round the corner, turned to look back at him. When he saw Hizashi looking, he gave him another small smile and a little half-wave before he disappeared, and, yeah…
Hizashi was so in love.

The Angel of Death Pt5
Inspired by this Story Starter by @someone-ev
AO3   Prologue   Beginning  Previous   Next
Marinette continued to watch as both the life and blood drained from the man in front of her. Part of her reasoning came from her training. It was her job to make sure he was dead in order to complete her mission. Another part of her was fascinated by the process. Talia had always considered it a weakness. One more reason she wasn’t worthy of the woman’s offspring. But ever since Marinette had felt the connection with her parents severed she couldn’t help but wonder at exactly what point in the process it happened. When the heart stopped? When the brain ceased to function? If there was a soul, did it happen when the soul left the body? She almost wished she could have been there when Damian died so she had a clearer understanding of the issue. Almost. Feeling his string snap, even with how faded it had become, had taken her out of commission for a week. She didn’t want to imagine how bad it would have been if she were closer to him,
She was brought out of her thoughts as the broach at Gabriel's collar changed shape. The Miraculous must have realized he was dead. She wondered vaguely if he’d had any strings that had been severed. She reached down to retrieve the item and heard the creature behind her inhale sharply. After putting it in her pocket with the others she calmly cleaned her blade on the man’s shirt before turning around to face the creature. It looked resigned.
“What is your will Master?” She felt her face contort in revulsion at the title and saw fear on the creature’s face.
“I’m not your master. I just don’t think it’s a good idea to leave things lying around so they fall into the wrong hands.” She pulled out her phone to send the video from her body cam to the Mayor as proof the job was done. She received the second half of her payment almost immediately. Watching her work had a tendency to motivate her employers to keep her happy.
“And you do not consider your hands the wrong ones?” She cocked her head in thought. It was a valid question.
“My hands are more careful than most, but wrong or right I couldn’t say.” She started to head to the window to make her escape. There was no telling how fast the police would show up.
“Wait! There is another.” She turned to look at the creature and noted the shock, as though it hadn’t meant to speak. Did he have to give her certain information just because she had the broach? She watched as it began to vibrate nervously. “There is one more Miraculous and a book that should also not be left so anyone can find them. I can show you.” Maybe it just decided she was the lesser of two evils. Talia would be livid at the thought and that brought a real smile to Marinette’s face.
“Show me then. What should I call you?” The creature blinked at her in surprise, though she wasn’t certain why.
“I am Nooroo, Kwami of the Butterfly Miraculous. What do you wish me to call you if not Master?” She paused to think about the question. She’d been called many things in the League, none of which had good memories attached. At the same time it had been so long since she’d been Marinette, so long since she’d become a different person, it felt wrong to use the name as she was now. It almost felt like she was dishonoring her parents.
“Tristesse, or Tris.” She wasn’t sure where the thought came from, but it certainly fit. It was all she felt, and all she brought to the world around her. Nooroo offered her a pitying look before nodding and heading to a hidden door. She followed, knowing that time would be against her if they lingered. They surfaced in what appeared to be a study and Nooroo guided her to a large painting covering a safe. She frowned at it.
“It’ll take too long to open this. For all I know the Mayor called the police already.” Before she could try to come up with alternatives Nooroo flew through the door of the safe and she blinked as it opened to reveal the Kwami inside. “That’s certainly a handy trick.”
“This book, and this.” He pointed to another broach but flew in front of her hand when she reached for it. “Let me find something to put it in. Duusu’s Miraculous is damaged and can cause great harm to those who wield it.” She simply gave a nod and reached for the book instead. It was old, that much she could tell but none of the writing in it made sense to her. She kept staring at it though, something inside her saying it was familiar. Nooroo came back with a bag in short order and in less than five minutes she was on the rooftops making her way back to her hotel. Nooroo sat on her shoulder as she went, completely silent. Once in her room she laid out the four Miraculous and the book on a table and contemplated.
“What are you going to do with them?” Nooroo’s quiet voice broke her out of her thoughts and she sighed.
“Your former Master claimed these two could bring back the dead.” She pointed to the ring and earrings and could practically feel the unease dripping off the Kwami.
“That would be unwise. While it is true that combined the Miraculous of Creation and Destruction can grant the wearer any wish, it comes at a great cost. My Master never understood that. Rather he chose to ignore my warnings.” That was less than optimal.
“What kind of cost?” Perhaps there was a loophole. Even in her head she sounded desperate.
“Tikki would be better to ask. I’ve never been active when a wish was made.” The Kwami sounded relieved by that though she had no idea why.
“Who’s Tikki?” She saw Nooroo point at the earrings in her peripheral vision.
“The Kwami of Creation who resides in the Ladybug Miraculous. They will be better able to explain such things.” She couldn’t help but let out a sigh. Of course it would be the one she’d already talked to. Fate or luck seemed to always be against her.
“And how exactly do I speak to them?”

Regardless of if u do commissions, I like knowing that you have a kofi so I can actually treat u to a coffee or something. It's a nice idea, and your writing is so good you kinda definitely deserve to be compensated? When I get a job again you'll definitely see something from me!
thank you so much! i am glad to hear that my writing is good enough to be compensated! i struggled a lot with considering doing commissions, actually!
writing fanfiction is considered a hobby, and generally, they are free for everyone in the community to enjoy. alternative to taking commission is taking requests, which is free and people get what they want, so i questioned why? why should people pay to have me write what they want when there are people doing it for free?
my sister (who does art commission) told me people might like my writing specifically, as opposed to just anyone taking free requests, that is why commissions exist. but still, i feel a little weird taking people’s money to write for them because, like i said, fanfiction is kind of supposed to be free. also, i am just not confident that my writing is good enough for people to be paying for it. however, since i am not allowed to get a job but i still want to buy things for myself, i might try to take some during the summer and earn some extra money. and ko-fi is just here as an option (aside from if i do commissions, of course) for people to be generous!

Hakuoki Zuisouroku Toudou CG Character Perspective
First post of the month, so I’ll start by asking you to please support me if you can either on ko-fi, through paypal…. also let me know if you have any hakuoki drama cds that you’d be willing to share that are on my looking for list since i don’t have the audio for those…ADDED MORE CDs since i went through more of the tls i found.. Also check out my patreon for early access to my stuff and blog translations or just to support me....
On patreon, I added in 2 new funding goals as I started translating what I referred to as “Thumb-sized Samurai” though I will not be commissioning for the translation of the last 3 tracks myself... the first goal is for gathering funds to commission the translation of those 3 tracks while the other... is Kazama’s final chapter from Tsukikage no Shou (I intend to eventually translate Yamazaki’s final chapter eventually... maybe in like a year and a half? this took me about five months of on-off [well more on the off side] tling to finish) that you can pay for early access to that I intend to otherwise post in August (alternatively if send me your email via paypal or ko-fi, i’ll send you the file in response).
anyway, this is the 2nd last zuisouroku cg character perspective... same as my other zuisouroku postings, aside from the new cg, images used were edited together from my screenshots.... and if this isnt in order idc!
enjoy?

Commission Hiatus (and what to expect)
Heyooooooooo, so it's actually been a few days since this officially started, but it's about time I like officially announce it.
From now until December 30th, I will be going on a Commission Hiatus. This means, with the exception of Mini-Commissions, I won't be doing any commissions up until the hiatus is over. Everyone who's got a slot for the Nov/Dec queue will be moved into scheduling for January/February, so this ALSO means I won't be open for commissions up until like... March. I'll probably open queues for that far into the future for anyone who wants to go ahead and just secure a spot then, but I'll let ya'll know when I get closer to the end date of the hiatus.
For anyone a bit outta the loop, here's the journal that puts into context why this is happening:
https://earthsong9405.tumblr.com/post/189063632450/burnt-out-and-commission-hiatus
----------------------
So what does this mean? Welp, since I'm not putting every ounce of my focus toward commissions, I will be focusing on creating content of my own making (of which I've been severely neglecting as of late). This includes original work and fan work. So you can expect to see me uploading at a more frequent rate throughout this month and December! Some content you can expect from me:
Fanart | Headcanon Art/Posts:
LoZ
Super Mario
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid
MLP
Pokemon???? (maybe, haven't fully decided yet)
Original Work:
Feathers and Flowers
Sigrid and Felipe
Short Animations
And both of which includes stuff in the form of: written stories/fanfiction, comic strips/storyboards, streams, doodles, illustrations, character designs, whatever else I can think of.
I may not be able to get to everything but I'm gonna try to dish out as much as I can, and I'm very excited to share them with ya'll! If there's anything in particular you'd like to see from me in the meantime you're more than welcome to give me suggestions. <:
Now with all of this said, me putting a hold on my commissions does put me in the position of receiving no financial income for the duration of my hiatus. This is because commissions is my full-time job and the primary source of said income. So, if you'd like to support me from now until the hiatus end, or if you're just interested in supporting my content in general, let me take the opportunity to promote ways in doing so!
------------------------------
My Patreon HERE
I have a patreon that I don't often advertise but it's still very much open to anyone who'd like to become a patron and support my work! Anything as low as a simple dollar is always very much appreciated! As my patron, everything I post is not behind any paywalls and open to everyone, even if you aren't signed up to Patreon in general. Instead, if you choose to support me you will gain access to:
Free artwork for Patrons
Commission Discounts
Simple tutorials and tips
Content and art I don't post anywhere else
------------------------------
My Ko-Fi HERE
For anyone who'd like to make a small donation in show of support to my work and content but don't wanna sign up for the monthly structure of Patreon, my Ko-fi's a good alternative to this! For now it's simply a tip jar, but I'm trying to think of ways to make it more appealing and offers something in return as a thank you for support. But until then, anything and everything is always appreciated!
------------------------------
PWYW Icon Commissions HERE
I'll do a spontaneous opening for my Icon Commissions. These aren't available as a regular commission type anywhere from me and is the only way to get one. Like last time, the slot number is already decided: 20 slots will be available when they open and it will be first come first serve. They will be opening this Sunday, 11 AM EST so if interested, keep your eyes peeled for that journal! <:
If you have any questions, concerns, or anything in between please let me know!
Thank you all so much for your support and for following my art. Thank you all for being the best community I could ever ask for. And I hope to continue earning that support; here's hoping you like the content that's to follow!
Thank ya'll so much! <3

Requests Are Open
I have now written all but one of the requests that got sent in (and that I had inspiration for). I will be writing the last request hopefully this week.
So, imagines, headcanons, and ships and personal blurbs are now all open. You may now send in more requests, but please read the following guidelines before sending in anything!! Please note that when I get requests sent in, I keep them in my inbox until I write them. If I choose to decline your request, I will post the ask with a brief explanation.
Imagines/headcanons
One-shots, generally 500-1000 words in length. Either character x reader or character x character.
When sending in requests:
Please only send in one request at a time. This means not only to only send in one request per ask, but also please wait until your request has been posted (or the ask posted with an explanation as to why I won’t be writing the request) to send in another
Please don’t send in a request expecting me to write it instantly, or a request that is about something personal happening to you in the moment you send it. Sometime like, “I’m having a really bad day, could you write about x comforting the reader?” These make me feel very guilty and honestly a little annoyed because I cannot write them instantly and most of the time they won’t get written for weeks
Give me a general idea of what you want the imagine to be about (not too vague, please)
Don’t tell me about yourself (like how you look, name, etc.) because I write my imagines as reader-neutral as I can (Y/N is used in replace of a name - this means your name)
Tell me the character or characters you wish to be used for the prompt and unless specified in the prompt, tell me what kind of relationship you wish for the reader and the character to have (siblings, friends, partners, etc.)
Please understand that I have the right to decline your request if it isn’t something I feel inspired to write about or if it’s something I’m uncomfortable writing about
And please remember to be kind and patient with me while I work on the requests. I am but one human who, much to my dismay, does not have constant time, inspiration, and motivation to write
Series I write for:
Alternate Original Series/Kelvin Timeline
Discovery
Deep Space Nine
Enterprise
The Next Generation
Voyager
Character I write for:
AOS: Jim Kirk, Leonard McCoy, Spock, Uhura, Scotty, Sulu (male reader only), Chekov

Ships I write for:
AOS: Spock x Uhura, Scotty x Jaylah
Disco: Michael Burnham x Siylvia Tilly, Michael Burnham x Ash Tyler, Hugh Culber x Paul Stamets

Enterprise: Trip Tucker x T'Pol, Trip Tucker x Malcolm Reed, T’Pol x Jonathan Archer
TNG: Deanna Troi x William Riker, Geordi La Forge x Data, Beverly Crusher x Jean-Luc Picard
Voyager: Tom Paris x B'Elanna Torres, Chakotay x Kathryn Janeway, Kathryn Janeway x Seven of Nine
Topics I will not write for
Detailed/graphic sex (I may be willing to write some smut, depending on what the prompt is, though)
Unconsensual sex
Anything having to do with underage relationships
Sex with more than two people (I will write poly relationships, though)
Abusive relationships (mental or physical) (though I can write something where the reader was previously in one, I just won’t write about it directly)
Neurological disorders (I’m just not familiar with them enough to write them properly)
Certain mental illnesses: schizophrenia, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, dissociation disorders, addictions, and body dysmorphic disorders (again, I’m not familiar enough with these to properly write about them)
Death of a character (unless canon)
Miscarriages
Anything that’s too similar to an imagine I’ve already written
Topics I will write for
Certain mental illnesses: depression, anxiety/panic disorders, PTSD, OCD, ADD/ADHD, and eating disorders
Pregnancy, birth, and parenthood
Injuries
Being held hostage/tortured by captors
Anything romantic
Some intimacy (kissing, holding, touching, groping, and maybe NSFW stuff)
Sibling scenarios
TBH most topics that weren’t listed in the previous section
Ships and Personal Blurbs
ONLY DONE THROUGH COMMISSION THROUGH KO-FI
A ship/match-up with characters from up to 2 series and a short blurb about what your relationship with the character(s) would be like.
When sending in requests:
Tell me your name on Ko-fi so I can verify you sent in a commission
Tell me about yourself: hobbies, skills, aspirations, personality, and your position, species, or role in the Star Trek universe
Tell me which series you want me to use. I will only use two at the most, and I won’t do TOS (I’ve only seen a few episodes)
Please be patient with me while I get it done. I am a full-time university student, so I do these when I have time. However, because these are commissioned I will put priority on them
That’s it! If there’s characters or ships I have not listed, please ask. Happy requesting everyone!

Winter Mountain
At last, we have the final painting for the Art Philosophy November Challenge. I'll be honest, I didn't think the prompt, "Winter Mountain," would give me so much trouble when I first noticed it on the prompt list. Oh boy was I wrong! In fact, I think this one ended up being the one that gave me the most trouble out of the bunch. All of the previous four had their challenges, "Summer Beach" in particular being the one that previously had the most practice pieces. But I just had a much harder time trying to conceptualize this one. I ended up with a total of seven different practice pieces before the final, and unlike all the previous prompts none of them were solid enough for me to pick one and try replicating it directly. The funny thing is, this final one was actually me more or less meeting my breaking point. After seven much smaller attempts that weren't objectively bad but just weren't doing what I wanted them to, I decided maybe it would just be best if I went ahead and tried a practice piece on the same size paper I'd use for the final. I had more than one piece left, so if it went south, then it wouldn't be that big of a deal. It was only after I'd started on this one that part of my problem might've been that I'd been practicing incorrectly. I've kept the previous paintings on the same 5.5" x 8.5" paper, but I've been alternating the long and short sides, similar to what I did during Inktober. By that logic, this one should've had the longest side on the top and bottom. By the time I noticed, I was tired and already fed up with my struggles and thus it was out of the question to worry about fixing it. It does make me wonder though if that could've been why I had such a hard time nailing down the concept from the very beginning. Would I have perhaps not struggled as much if I'd been practicing and had my paper turned correctly the whole time?  The world will never know. Anyway. I started off the painting by doing one of my favorite things to do with watercolor; a gradient wash. I stopped it with about 1/5 of the page left blank for what exactly I had in mind, going from a soft pinky-purple to a peachy yellow for a "cold" sunset feel. I was a little concerned about how it was going to try because it looked kind of patchy while it was still wet, but fortunately, it seems the paint largely smoothed itself out. Then came the truly challenging part. I'd learned from my practice pieces that I didn't want to just put in a dark color where the mountain part of "Winter Mountain" should be and then bring the snow/winter part back in with white watercolor, because each time I tried that it ended up looking more like just regular snow-topped mountains and not winter-specific mountains. But I also had a hard time replicating one practice piece where I miraculously put down just the shadow part of the mountains and was able to carve out the shape, even though I did really like the way it looked. (That practice piece came out looking a bit simple for my taste otherwise, but that was partly because of it's much smaller size and me being scared I was going to ruin it at any moment.) But I decided to try my luck regardless. As a result, the mountains here ended up being a sort of mixture of the "shadows only" and "add white to the top" methods. I started out trying to just leave the part that was supposed to be white alone and only add the shadows to create the shape of the mountains, and while that worked, for the most part, I did get a little carried away in a few places. And to be fair there was a little too much of the color from the background poking through to suit me too (though a little of it poking through in some places, a lot of which is still visible, I think adds to the sunset illusion, as naturally, the snow would reflect some of the colors). So much like in my practice pieces, I did end up playing a little bit of back-and-forth between the shadow color and white. And while I'm sure it's still not perfect and there are many watercolor puritans out there ready to scrap me other the coals, I think it turned out okay. While the mountains did their drying, I went in and added what's supposed to be a river, which on both practice pieces I incorporated it into in a similar fashion ended up looking more like just some strange part of the ground. Fortunately, here in the final, I was a little more careful and particular and so it looks more like actual water here. I think. Although realistically it should probably be frozen over and thus not as dark, I digress. Then I very carefully added some shadows/shading to the ground and did my best to blend it with the base of the mountains so that it didn't look like I just forgot to paint that area. Snow, as it turns out, is trickier to paint that one might imagine. Or at least than I would imagine. Especially with watercolor where the primary way to get white is to normally leave the white of the paper. It's odd trying to balance the right amount of white that gets left alone with just enough shadow that it doesn't look like a mistake. While that all dried, I pondered what else I could add. Mountains, a river, and the moon I knew I was going to add later...that's fine and good and all, but that alone leaves something to be desired. I decided to take a risk and used some more of the bluish-gray I'd mixed for the snow shadows and added some mountains that were meant to be further in the background to add a little more interest and fill out more of the paper, as I had put the original mountains in a little low on the page. Then I went in and added my moon and some stars white the white watercolor. (Not my white gel pen for a change!) That all came out pretty subtle since the main white I was using tends to sink back into the paper/colors underneath pretty noticeably. And to this day I still don't know if it's because it's a pan watercolor (as my white from the tube doesn't seem to do that, or at least not to the same extent) or if it's just because of whatever white pigment was used to make it.  Either way, I'm okay with that here as it seems more fitting for the moon and stars to be more subtle in this type of sky. I was very very tempted to add some trees--evergreen, specifically--to liven up the landscape a little, but I'd already experimented with that in practice and even when I went back and added some teeny-tiny trees to a few of my practice pieces just to see how it would look and work, they just didn't look that great and I didn't feel like I could create them in a reliable way. If that makes sense.  So that was out. Instead, I ended up settling on adding some springs of grass/plants poking through the snow. It's not something we usually think about, but I've seen it for myself that even in the dead of winter with a thick blanket of snow on the ground you can still often see the holdovers from warmer weather poking through. It's not quite the same, but I do think it helped add that little bit of life I was looking for. It was still missing something though, and after some thought, I decided that something was birds. This time, instead of just going in as usual and free handing the birds and their flying positions myself, I dared look up a reference of birds flying in a v-formation and based them off of that, which I quite like. And at first, after I finished it, I still wasn't quite sure if I was totally happy with it. In all honesty, I think I was just a little burnt out on snowy mountains for the night and I was tired and just really wanted to be done. Looking at it again today, I feel better about it. I'm still not sure it's good as it could be, but it still looks pretty nice anyway. And...it's done. I am th-rough this freaking challenge!   I'm not mad at what I managed to create from the five prompts, but I do know I'm going to be a little more discerning the next time I think about participating in one of Art Philosophy's monthly challenges. "Landscape" was a bit overzealous of a category for me.   The funny thing is I'm still not sure I understand how 5 prompts spread over every 2-3 days ended up being more taxing and time-consuming than 31 prompts with one for every single day.  The best I can figure is it's just that much different between full watercolor paintings and poems with ink backgrounds. Whatever the case, it's done. I made some satisfactory paintings and now I can go back to simply creating as the inspiration strikes me. That being the case, hopefully, one of the next things up will be another marker illustration, as while all this painting business has been going on I've had a bit of an interesting story going on behind the scenes... ____ Artwork © me, MysticSparkleWings ____ Where to find me & my artwork: My Website | Commission Info + Prices | Ko-Fi | dA Print Shop | RedBubble |   Twitter | Tumblr | Instagram

My Ko-Fi
What is Ko-Fi?
Ko-Fi is, in short, a platform where supporters can donate a “coffee” to content creators by paying small units - such as $3, enough to buy a coffee.
Is it legal to commission fanfiction?
Fanfiction isn’t exactly a codified legal area, so it’s a bit of a grey situation. However, I am not ever claiming to own any recognizable content (characters, settings, canon plots, etc.), so I am respecting the copyright of USA Networks. Making a small profit off of my fanfiction should not violate copyright law, as I take donations in exchange for my own personal resources of time and effort and never claim to own the property of any other person or organization.
Why do I now have a Ko-Fi?
I am a college student, so I’m automatically broke because college in the United States is ridiculously fucking expensive. I’m also trying to further my career goals by pursuing relevant internships and experiences overseas, which only mount up the bills. Not to mention that it costs money to live. Although I’m trying for a part-time job, if I can secure one I still can only work so many hours a week because of university policies. Oh, and let’s talk minimum wage! In my state, I can work a full hour at minimum wage and still not be able to afford even a single box of shrimp at the grocery store. So, yeah. I love to write and I’m going to do it anyway - so if someone would like to pay me to create fanfiction, why say no?
That is not to say I’m only writing fanfiction for profit now. It’s saying, “this is something I work hard on that takes up my time and energy, and if I can make a few bucks off that investment, it helps me support myself.” Whether or not I receive donations, I am still going to continue writing fanfiction.
So why donate at all?
I tend to write what I feel inspired to write, which means I have been filling requests out of order. I have absolutely no intention of being unfair, but writing has been nothing but a creative outlet, and if all I get from writing a request is a muse or inspirational pleasure, then I’ll obviously write the most personally satisfying ones first, and when it suits me at that. If, however, a donation is made, then the investment of resources (be they time or money) are no longer one-sided, and I bear responsibility to produce content in a reasonable time.
Another incentive is that I have closed my requests because a large list is overwhelming. A commissioned request will bypass the closing of requests.
What are the “coffees” for?
I am probably going to put some of this money towards buying literal coffees, as I thrive off caffeine and there are at least 3 Starbucks franchises within walking distance of my home.
That said, the majority of any donations are actually going to be put towards actual goals, like buying textbooks for next semester or affording the extra expenses of an internship.
Content
For now, this is just a very experimental and hesitant thing, so I’m only advertising it here, on my White Collar blog. The Ko-Fi page itself is under my main blog’s username, Writings of Stardust, in case I expand it. Because I don’t actually expect to make much off it, I want to start with just White Collar content and this blog’s following.
I’m paying for Gold status so that I can offer different prices for different commissions, but if I make so little that I actually lose money on the membership, this venture will end in a couple of months.
Pricing and Commissions
The very cheapest commission is $1 for a would-include. You’re paying me about $1 for about 30 minutes of thinking, writing, and proofreading.
For $2, you can request a new imagine. You’re paying me $2 for about an hour of thinking, writing, and proofreading.
For $2, you can also bribe me to write a request, whether it’s a oneshot or an imagine, which is already on my request list but that I haven’t gotten around to writing yet. You’re paying me about $1/hour, because oneshots usually take me about 2 hours to write, and that’s a reduced price because you’ve already submitted your request before they were closed.
For $4, you can request a new oneshot with a minimum word count of 2,500. An additional $1 ups the minimum word count to 3,500. This all includes thinking, planning/outlining, writing, editing, and a final proofreading. You’re paying me, at most, $2/hour for an average oneshot.
I’ve explained the pricing to hopefully show my reasoning. When requests open again, these will have to change - not sure how, but they would - but for the time being, I think these are reasonable. I do reserve the right to increase the cost of a oneshot commission if I feel that putting aside my resources essentially on demand for these larger projects is more of a hassle than it is worth.
I aim to have all commissions completed within two weeks of request. Would-includes and imagines should be put out in a few days, while oneshots would ideally be between a few days and a week, though might take a couple of weeks if I get caught in a busy period. However, two weeks is the most time I would like to take and if there are extenuating circumstances, I will contact you to explain and propose an alternative deadline. If I have to offer an alternative deadline, I will also offer a refund through PayPal, but if a refund is accepted, then I might not finish the oneshot.
Exception
I am not, at the moment, taking commissions for series, nor will I accept one to write the one in my request list. I have that series planned out, but I need to rewatch the relevant episodes, and then write many full-length chapters. I can’t promise a quick enough turnaround for that and I don’t know how I would price a series.
Now that all the information is shared, here is a link to my Ko-Fi if you’d like to donate in exchange for a written request: https://ko-fi.com/writingsofstardust

Yeah another portrait is done. I'm sorry that I am drawing so many of them lately, but I really enjoy them at the moment. While I was slightly starting to get into the Touken Ranbu musicals before I was in Japan in my summer vacations, I totally fell for the whole musical series (and also their theatrical plays) while I was there. I didn't get to see a musical live, but I was singing the TouMyu songs at karaoke and I got my hands on a few CDs and a Blu-Ray... *cough* I guess this is not the last Swordboy you will see. So this particular Swordboy is named Higekiri, the actor performing him is Miura Hiroki who also starred as Atobe Keigo in the third season Musical The Prince of Tennis. Apparently Miura Hiroki is also performing as a quite popular idol, although I first saw him as Higekiri and found him to be a quite handsome guy in a cute way. And I liked his soft features very much which was actually the reason for me to draw him. A friend of mine is not particularly a fan of the character Miura is performing, but a great fan of the actor himself which is why I asked for some flowers that would be suitable for the background. She said that gladiolas or lavender would be great when it comes to the language of flowers, so I chose gladiolas since I never drew them before. I drew Higekiri entirely in charcoal sticks and pencils. Only the brown-ish accents are actually metallic golden gelpens which don't perform well in the scan. For the background and flowers, I am actually regretting a bit that I didn't do everything in black and white. I thought it would appear more lively when Higekiri was in black and white, but I should probably have made it more... you know, wholesome? I don't know how to put it. This doesn't mean that I don't like the drawing. I really love it, actually :3 Although I know that I probably have to work on the quality much more. I think I should also have chosen a different paper. This paper was all too smooth to use charcoal. Actually, I learned with this that both pastels and charcoal need rough paper with tooth, so, I guess the next fanart will be on another paper  However I hope you like it.

Social Media & Participatory Culture
“And that’s precisely how participatory culture works we throw ideas out into the world; we bring them back in an improved way, because of our engagement with communities,” Henry Jenkins in his 2010 Ted Talk.
A site can have the infrastructure for comments, messages and sharing, and that would allow us to possibly define it as social media. However, that alone does not guarantee that everything posted will be engaged with. Henry Jenkins proceeds to define participatory culture as one with strong support for uploaded content, where members are engaged socially and believe their contributions matter (as cited in Hinton & Hjorth, 2013). Posting a status update or selfie and getting a lot of likes alone would not be considered within participatory culture: it must be collaborative and meaningful, which I interpret as having a purpose or goal. That is not to say simple status updates or selfies cannot be a part of participatory culture. For example, on twitter there are often hashtags created like: #GirlsBehindtheGames where women working in video games posted selfies to dispel the notion that women can’t be game developers and provide representation.
To elaborate, I would like to present a personal example, of something I created that began as something personal, but ended up being an example of participatory culture involving thousands of people. I did not have the words to describe what happened until after watching the Ted Talk, so I am glad we covered this!
In 2016, I created a tumblr called @help-mywife. They were just comedic posts about a two imaginary wives. I made it to combat my internalized homophobia by posting comedic content about lesbian couples being domestic that I rarely see on TV. However, people began submitting their own posts to the blog. Women loving women (WLW) would share the posts, submit their own day dreams or actual experiences with their partners to the blog. Now most of the posts are user-submitted. Women have written to me about enjoying seeing other WLW’s experiences, and the blog has over 90,000 followers. When I first made the blog, I was participating online, but it was not part of participatory culture. There was little mutual engagement. However, the tumblr community elevated it to fulfill a purpose: provide positive representation of WLW relationships at a large scale. I have been frustrated by tumblr’s mobile interface, but I still come back because that blog has a significant following that has let me know I’m doing something positive, so much so that they want to contribute. I doubt I would have continued posting if the blog wasn’t interacted with, even though I initially just made it for my own entertainment.
As I alluded to in my anecdote, mass-media groups are not creating the niche content people want. It’s users of online services who are accepting commissions for specific fan-art, making podcasts about living in Japan while black, writing alternate endings to TV shows and data-mining Mario games to post obscure assets from the series. However “creating content not only involves creativity but also time, emotion and various forms of capital,”  (Hinton & Hjorth, 2013).
While ease of content creation is a wonderful tenant of participator culture  (Jenkins, Puroshotma, et. al, 2009), this makes it easy for quality content to get lost in the shuffle without having significant capital. My friend is running a Kickstarter for a video game, but in order for the Kickstarter to be presentable and even garner attention, they spent $11,000 on paying everyone who contributed to the Demo of the game. You need to spend money to stand out online and be able to make money. I believe this is one of the reasons sites like gofundme, kickstarter, ko-fi and patreon have risen in popularity. They not only help produsers with the costs in creation, but also the risks.
“Citizen Journalists are also farm more vulnerable than journalists working for news organizations because they lack the protection that is often extended to them as employees,”  (Hinton & Hjorth, 2013). I’ve seen gofundme campaigns for people who need lawyers to respond to lawsuits or even pursue legal action in response to art theft. Indie artists and citizen journalists do not have these resources on their own, but I believe participatory culture gives people as much power as these large organizations. They can pool together resources and finances to accomplish the same thing large organizations can.
Produsers would not be able to produce quality content without user support (Hinton & Hjorth, 2013).  User support varies greatly. It can be feedback to improve the content, sharing the content, enjoying it and much more! A blog without followers is just a diary, and would not bring profit to social media sites. Social media sites foster participatory culture, because it benefits them.
Tumblr did not make help-mywife or any of the blogs that draw people to this site: this was all user generated content (Hinton & Hjorth, 2013). Tumblr profits from these users’ efforts. This is one of the reasons why I believe there’s great power in platforms that allow the user to receive due monetary compensation for content, such as Patreon.

Blue Java Bananya
Well here's something I wasn't planning on making at all! This year certainly started off with a bang!, and not a good one, what with my drawing tablet going kaput on me. But at the very least, thanks to my brother I have a temporary solution. He was able to get his hands on a Surface Pro 3 through work, and after acquiring a stylus I've been working on adapting to it for the time being. It's taking a lot of getting used to, but I'd rather have to get used to this than have nothing at all until next century when I can afford a more proper replacement. Anyway. That whole fiasco just depressed and stressed me out to no end, among other life things. For my birthday, I was gifted a DVD of Bananya, a show about, you guessed it--banana cats like the one I've drawn here. I watched the whole thing (about 40 minutes, the episodes are pretty short) in one sitting, and for that time I was able to forget about everything that was worrying me and just enjoy some cute fruit kitties and simple fun. No over-the-top, save-the-world plot, no complicated character dynamics, no overcoming past trauma, just fun and cute. I knew about Bananya for a while, as a couple of years ago I got my hands on a couple of plushies before I even knew the show existed; I just thought the concept of cat-bananas with velcro peels was adorable. It was only later when I was wondering where they originated from that I found out there was a show, and subsequently that the only way to watch the English dub was on the DVD. (No offense to anyone that prefers subs over dubs; I just have a really hard time splitting my attention between what's happening and who's saying what and trying to read the text. Plus I have a hard time sitting down and just watching a show and doing nothing else; dubbed makes it possible for me to do other things and not have to stare at the screen and hope I can read fast enough.) Since I had bananas on the brain after that and it's a really simple and cute art style, I decided to test out getting accustomed to the Surface Pro that I'd draw a little Bananya OC of sorts. In the show, the bananyas are named more so for the cat part of their appearance, usually, but I wanted mine to stand out a bit more and I'm pretty sure that if they aren't already that eventually, all the default cat-pattern names are going to be canonically taken. So I went and I looked up strange/different types of bananas and discovered the blue java or "ice cream" banana, which has a bluish tint to the peel when it's young, and because of it's vanilla taste and creamy texture, it's actually offered as a healthier alternative to ice cream in areas where it's more commonly found (hence the nickname). And now I really want to try one but I haven't the foggiest idea where I'd find them here in the states. My other option was a red/pink variety and the show already has at least 2 bananyas with pink peels and one with pink on her head, so I took the blue banana and ran with it. (Although upon further inspection, I think the newer bananya episodes they're currently working on that haven't been dubbed yet feature one with a blue banana peel so I may still not be completely unique here despite my efforts.) I went with more of a teal/greenish-blue as opposed to a more "true" blue, since even in pictures while the blue java is definitely blue compared to the average banana, it's not blue like a blue raspberry candy is blue. They're actually a pretty pastel kind of almost mint color-- And suddenly, as I'm typing this I think I better understand why vanilla Tootsie Rolls come in a blue wrapper...are they based on these bananas?? Does anybody know?? --*ahem* As I was saying... The bananas, from what I understand, also lose/fade that blue color as they mature. Which would explain why I couldn't seem to find a picture of a peeled Blue Java banana that had that same pastel-colored peel. But I went with it anyway. (This is a show about banana cats, I don't think we have to be 100% scientifically accurate here.) I also added some black spots to the cat part of my bananya, as I haven't seen a white-with-black-spots one in canon material and I have a bit of soft spot for black-and-white kitties in particular. And while I have had second thoughts that maybe her name should be "ice cream bananya" instead (for the reasons I went over earlier about the real bananas), I ultimately when with Blue Java Bannaya, as it very on-the-nose like the other bananya names, and in a way I think the "java" part fits with the black spots. But that's mostly just because java makes me think of "java chip frappucino" from Starbucks, which makes me think of chocolate chips, which are usually dark spots in cookies...see where I'm going with this? Though on the other hand, the black and white also kinda makes me think of Oreos, which would tie-in with the ice cream thing because usually Cookies n Cream ice cream is made with Oreos or knock-off Oreos, so I suppose it would've been equally fair to name her "Cookie Bananya" or something... Eh, for now, she stays as Blue Java. Or just "Java" for short. It was pretty straight forward to draw her, as I mentioned that the bananya style is pretty simple. Dare I say minimal? The main struggles I had boiled down to the learning curve with the Surface Pro and the new stylus. The pen pressure, maybe obviously, isn't as good as I'm used to, and the disparity between the tip of the pen and where the cursor actually is is different, and I think there's a little bit of lag when I'm drawing but that might be more to do with me having the stabilizer turned up a bit higher than normal in trying to compensate for the other issues. Still, I was at least able to manage for something as simple as this. I am admittedly horrified at the prospect of one of my usual, more complex digital drawings though...learning curves and baby steps... I'm not happy about the tablet situation, but at least the bananya is cute so I can focus on that instead. I do sincerely hope I'm very wrong about how long I'm going to be using this new set-up for though, because the way things are going it's going to be a very long time before I have the option of a better alternative... ____ Artwork/Character © me, MysticSparkleWings I do not own Bananya ____ Where to find me & my artwork: My Website | Commission Info + Prices | Ko-Fi | dA Print Shop | RedBubble |   Twitter | Tumblr | Instagram
