The Avatar fandom is always saying that if we get a continuation after Korra they hope we get to see more complex and flawed characters because atla and lok lacked them
Well I don't want that because y'all can't even handle the ones you were already given

Round 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under Cut
Elizabeth Midford
She started as just a cutie fiancée trying her best, turns out she's also a swordfighting genius, very under pressure to perform feminity in the Victorian Rose type of way. Fandom crucifies her bc she's Ciel's fiancée and they want him to be with his butler, Sebastian, the demon he sold his soul to for revenge
anime was a shitty canon divergent adaptation that butchered her character down to her "cutesy silly girly" persona, which obviously made the 2008 anime fans hate her with a passion (nothing wrong w being girly I'm just saying the adaptation made her super one dimensional) anyways fujoshis used to treat her as a villain because she's the fiance of Ciel,, who as u might know already was HEAVILY shipped with his butler, Sebastian back then (now it's kinda looked badly upon, nice tbh that ship sucks ass xD) She's a bit similar to Misa Amane from death note in the way she was treated. (Like an obstacle the yaoi ship must overcome rather than a person)
she's my silly little rabbit! i could gush about her character but i'll keep it short and just say that she's really well written and one of the best characters in the series. anyways she's ciel's fiance and she's like, rightfully annoying as any other 13 yr old girl would be but the fanbase fucking crucified her for even existing. she gets demonized for being 'annoying', but then ciel gets yaoishipped with an even more annoying guy. there is 100% an argument that lizzie/ciel is weird bc they're cousins (i personally don't ship it) but that falls flat when her detractors then ship the 13 yr old ciel with an eons old demon who Canonically looks like his father. the anime also never reached her main character development until years after its peak and that was only in a movie, so she really got the bad end of the stick here. not me though i had a giant crush on her when i was 12
Katara
Katara is constantly mistreated by the fans in favor of the Zukka ship (Zuko × Sokka.) They make her out to be mean, homophobic, and completely out of character just to add drama to the Zukka ship. In reality, Katara is very compassionate, and would never act that way toward anyone.
Zutara was a popular ship but when zukka got popular over covid during the atla renaissance there were a million posts about how zutara was problematic while zukka was perfect usually for racist reasons. Meanwhile katara and sokka are siblings so it didn't even make sense. They did not have to be so illogically rude to her to ship zukka and it was weird
Katara is FANTASTIC I fucking love her to pieces she is so cool and yet the entirety of the ATLA fandom treats her like garbage because she “talks about her mom dying too much” (even though she BARELY does & also was parentified from a young age due to her mother’s death) and, of course, because she’s a more feminine women when compared to her counterparts. Even in the show itself she’s mistreated: she’s ALWAYS shown cooking for the rest of the gaang, doing their laundry, any ‘womanly’ task. She ends up with the guy who kissed her twice without her consent & who she never showed any real attraction to and apparently (despite being a badass warrior-doctor!!!) after the show ended she just… settled down in the South Pole and had a bunch of kids and never did anything else. She didn’t even get a statue :( Anyways during the ATLA renaissance, despite Zutara actually not being canon, people felt that Katara threatened the sanctity of the new almost entirely baseless yaoi ship, Zukka. Unfortunately for them, due to the fact that Katara and Sokka are siblings, the usual anti-Zutara arguments didn’t work as well. So they resorted to just… slaughtering her character. If she was lucky, they’d just make Katara a background character, wingwoman, &or throw her together with her canon love interest. If she was unlucky they’d do anything from make her homophobic (??) to killing her off! Fuck’s sake, she never even got a token spare-the-pairs wlw ship! Sorry for getting so heated, that whole debacle made me FUMING MAD.

You know what irks me?
On one hand, Zuko's is constantly praised and say that he had the goat redemption arc to the point where they almost say he was on the good side from the get-go and never really made any bad decisions in the whole series. But when it comes to him and Katara, that's immediately forgotten, are just now realizing the mistakes he made and they go out of their way to demonize him.
Some of those guys have the nerve to try and pair Zuko up with Sokka.
I agree! Zutara antis demonize Zuko a lot when it comes to his past mistakes because it’s convenient. I also find that they infantilize Katara by acting like she can’t make her own choices when it comes to Zuko. Zuko obviously made mistakes, which is why he had to have a redemption arc in the first place. And Katara decided to forgive him on her own terms. Therefore, I don’t see how Katara dating Zuko would be “unrealistic” or “bad”after she forgave him, became friends with him, and clearly cared about him a lot.
As I’ve said before, if Katara was still angry with Zuko about his past bad actions, she would not have actually forgiven him and instead would have just tolerated him for the sake of defeating Ozai. They would have just been allies. But instead, they actually became friends and had a supportive friendship. But yes, a lot of Zutara antis are just hypocritical. Many praise Zuko’s redemption arc but then in the same breath say that Katara could never love Zuko because of what he did in the past.
There isn’t anything in the series that indicates that, and Katara has also been shown to not hate the entire Fire Nation either. So that’s why the argument: “Zuko is Fire Nation so Katara wouldn’t be able to love him.” doesn’t make sense to me. Katara blamed the Fire Nation people responsible for the war, not every single Fire Nation person who lived, and Zuko turned against the Fire Nation to help save the world from his own father. Katara definitely took note of that, eventually forgave him for his own actions, and therefore wouldn’t blame Zuko for being born where he was.
And about Zu.kka, I personally don’t have a problem with the concept of the pairing, but I really dislike the way Zuko is characterized in most fanfics and I also feel that they treat Katara badly as well, which I also really dislike. But yes, it’s hypocritical to dislike Zutara because Zuko was once Katara’s enemy when Zuko was once Sokka’s enemy too, because you know, Sokka is her brother. There are valid reasons to prefer Zu.kka, but trying to claim some moral high ground over Zutara is what irks me.
Thanks for the ask!

on the love triangle , mako Korra and asami and how I feel like how in a lok remake where makorra happens it should stay
no asami as an equalist spy
I have to be honest as a and say if there is a lok remake with makorra getting back tother at the end of a hint or it I want to keep the love triangle intact and allow mako and korra to make the mistakes that he made in canon in relation to it. to allow them be flawed in ways that cant be romanticized away.
to not have asami just be an equalist spy so we can just dismiss mako's actual mistake of not telling asami about korra kissing him and it feels like the type of thing I saw in some fandoms where they demonize/bash another character to prop another ship . ( like what zutara shippers sometimes do to aang). not to mention it would feed the people who had an irrational hate for mako and claimed mako deserved to end the show single as the only one in krew to be single as punishment for daring to be have flaws
I would compare korrasami more to zutara ( since they were both the most popular ships though the narrative and actual evidence pointed to makorra/kataang
I would say the ending of lok should have been Korra , mako and asami were all single but hints to makorra getting back together eventually ( and no spirit world vacation that's completely ooc of her to just leave when the earth kingdom needs her help it goes against who she is as a person
and she understands her job)
not to mention it would avoid asami just being forced into the love interest role again.
I have seen people go but asami would be the only one to end the show single with out a LI I say so pointing out that's because asami didn't have anyone with actual hints to end up with
This reminds me of the claim that mako ending the show single and being the only one to do so was somehow karma for mishandling the love triangle when by that logic Korra and asami would end the show single since Korra was just as responsible for the love triangle.
mako didn't do anything that required being specifically punished for it .
I mean lets be real here
I always find it funny how much love zuko got given all the shit and mistakes he made outright trying to kill aang and they are okay with ending the show with zuko happy, but mako getting in the middle of a love triangle (where he gets all the blame for it ),
which he mishandles due to his character flaws
with not wanting to disappoint people and the conflict between security and the person he has a stronger feelings toward
is somehow requires punishment and him not being happy at the end.
I mean really mako at his worst was aq bit of a jerk ( a normal human jerkiness when stressed)
but certain people like daughter-of-water tried to equate him to yue's fiance who was just a shallow jerk.
mako was never some sort of monster or manipulator.
I mean mako's mistakes or jerkiness is more comparable to the moments the toph, sokka, katara ( gang who weren't originally antagonists) like katara's moment with sokka .
with mako having more of b3 zuko's demeanor ( since he was zuko minus the angst ( both of them had an issue with internal conflict ) though he also had a lot of similarities to katara personality wise and backstory he could be described as the fusion of the two
"Mako's biggest character flaw is his inability to make a sound decision and commit to it. At first, this is frustrating, but what else is to be expected from an Expy of Zuko, who spent nearly that whole series jumping sides?"
Tumblr media
both went through parentification, had a object that is worn around their neck to remember their parents, had a sibling who acts as a comic relief and gets more love then they do
fantastic-nonsense . tumblr . com/post/113924073665/ugh-whats-happened-in-the-fandom-now
“There is a beautiful piece of fanart out that compares LOK characters to ATLA characters in the same role. One of the comparisons is Mako and Katara. People are lashing out and crying, hating on Mako in general and saying “how dare they be compared” because to these people feel Mako is a sack of shit and that’s just not true.  Both characters are family oriented, good people with tempers, flawed, selfless, love the avatar, and help save the world. They are key characters to the plot.”
“People get so fucking angry when you draw attention to the obvious similarities between Mako and Katara it’s so fucking funny“
I like that both mako and Korra weren't safe so I think getting rid of the love triangle takes something from mako
I would also say place emphasis on how Korra hurt bolin and do something to address that since Korra outright kissed mako while on a semi date with bolin which I feel people ignore.
mako kissing back happened due to his repressed feelings for her but that doesn't change the fact its korra's fault she knew he was in a relationship.
mako's fault is not telling asami about the kiss
I am to be frank the only reason korrasami was shipped was due to
1.the irrational hate for mako and the desire to spite and punish mako for mishandling a love triangle when no he didn't need to suffer for the love triangle that isn't the same as zuko's mistakes
2.the shipping as activism crowd who shipped korrasami because its a same sex ship.
thus these shippers take any positiveinteraction and claim its evidence for korrasami to the point they put on shipping goggles to take the most minor of moments, and claim its evidence even if its insignificant compared to others. Not to mention them making up headcanons to support minor moments like
claiming Korra chose asami to help her
claiming asami was sent a bunch of letters from Korra when it was just one letter , which comes off as a venting letter
( and of course they claim that any naysayer would see it if it was a male/female ship ignoring the many times they cite the genders involved in korrasami as to why they support it or claim it should be canon ( before b4 finale of course afterwards they cited the genders involved as to why it deserved t obe canon saying you don't care about the LGBT community if you don't support it ignoring the LGBT people who oppose korrasami. or going but its the only same sex ship in lok.
korrasami being the only same sex ship is irrelevant that doesn't mean you should support it if its a bad ship korrasami came out of nowhere they were barely friends, while the narrative pointed to makorra getting back together for they overcame the mutual flaws that caused the breakup in b2 neither of them were ready for a relationship at that time and their breakups happened due to forces outside of control the b2 breakup set up a makorra getting back together. Lets be really here there are tons of shows where a characters breakup but get back together at a later date due to healing
its not like atla had any same sex ships they could have just waited for another show . Its funny I have seen many people try to pull the ifit was a male/female ship you would support it when that could be flipped on them if their ship was a het ship while the opposing ship was a same sex ship would they support it. I mean one of the justifications/arguments for their ship amounts to the genders involved .
I also find it weird when they try to go there are tons of shows where the het ships being canon as if we only shipped say makorra over korrasami for example due to the genders involved ( which comes off as projection) then turn around and get offended if say after being upset that the same sex ship didn't happen and go you can wait for another show.
I have to be frank Korra and asami were barely friends barely interacted with each other, and their personalities and needs were incompatible with each other ( Korra needed to be ooc for it to happen).
you cant just make a same sex ship out of nowhere between two characters who were barely friends and expect everyone to eat that up just because its a same sex ship.
the people who do are desperate for crumbs that they stopped caring about good writing or narrative when its more important then LGBT representation.
Also I feel like if asami was a guy they would hate asami nad korrasami ( the whole putting a guy who was only interested in guys in a romantic relationship and being pushy on a girl who shows no interest in him ( I mean when in the wheel chair korra only smiled due to the air babies her dad and bolin.)
all I see is asami being a caring individual to korra
"Korra doesn’t really act like herself around Asami and usually feels like she has to hold back when they’re together. That’s neither healthy nor a good sign for a lasting relationship (see: Makorra in Book 2, before Mako realized it was possible to disagree with people who you don’t intend to burn bridges with)."
bryke allowed the fact they liked asami to get in the way of the story
""in the last two minutes when they realized they could throw in a favored political message by shipping her with Korra.  >_>;" this especially annoys me because before they didn't allow the fact they like asamis character to get in the way of the story
they allowed asami to stay away in the side
Tumblr media
I have only been part of 2 ship wars between a same sex ship and a het ship in both times people who are on the side of the same sex ship made it clear that their defense/support of the ship is in part due to the genders involved , and then they project that by claiming we would have supported the ship if it was a het ship.
I am sorry but korrasami being the only same sex ship in lok /being the first same sex ship involving a mc etc
is irrelevant bad writing is bad writing
they just forced korrasami in the last 2 minutes ( where it was nonexistent before hand they were barely friends)
when the narrative pointed to makorra
I mean yo ucant make the censorship argument to defend korrasami they were barely even friends they barely interacted while makorra got alot of hints.
while mako showed he was able to support korra while asami didnt
of course the mako haters desperate to bashhim try to put the love triangle and b2 breakup on him when no its not the breakup was due to mutual flaws and korra along with asami have responsibilities in the love triangle.
korra was ooc in the last 2 minutes she wouldnt just go on a vacation when the earth kingdom needed her
mako wasnt some terrible boyfriend which they paint him as.
I saw people claim mako ending the show single was karma for love triangle by that logic korra should have remained single as well and asami.
its why I say the best thing to do for lok remake is keep the love triangle and allow mako to make the same mistakes and for the show to handle it the same way in b1 and 2
so as to not give the mako haters what they want.

“demonized her by putting her in a relationship” and “being harassed for existing” yall are one to talk every kataang post i see on EVERY platform y’all are lurking saying “kataang sucks” and telling ppl to kll themselves over the ship. also demonizing her is ironic bc if she ended up with zuko it would’ve just ruined everything she went through and worked for so stay mad fucking freak 💀💀
1. Get the quote right, I said “disservices her by putting her in that relationship.” which is very different from whatever you said.
2. I can’t argue against anecdotal evidence or your experience but I can say in my experience, I’ve always seen people shit on zutara unprovoked and try to justify it with their performative activism or try to act as if it’s okay to make assumptions about someone’s character because of an unproblematic fictional ship. Also I don’t cross tag so if anything is ironic, it’s that you’re lurking in our tags when you just criticized zutara shippers for doing so.
3. Once again I said disservice not demonize, massively different. But for arguments sake tell me what did she gain from being in a relationship with Aang? Did that relationship not ruin everything she worked for? Because the Katara in ATLA was passionate and never stood on the sidelines when she saw injustice. But the Katara we see in the comics and LoK is passive and constantly sidelined to being the Avatar’s wife or mother of the Avatar’s children. Not her own person. She doesn’t even have a statue when everyone else in the gaang does. In season 1 Katara literally protests for the right to learn how to fight and in LoK we see none of the passion. What is exactly so fulfilling about her relationship with Aang? Was it him being an attentive father to their children? Oh, no that wasn’t it. So tell me, would being with Zuko really ruin everything she’s worked for, because it seems like being with Aang already ruins that quite successfully. Katara basically becomes an accessory to Aang which, yes, I would say disservices her! Especially when we’re shown that she is capable of having relationships with people based on mutual respect, compassion, and mutual emotional support. Relationships where they are equals and one is not an accessory to the other. Relationships where they respect each other boundaries and don’t act entitled to another’s affection.
But you know what’s even crazier is that at the end of the day none of that even matters because that is just what I prefer and you don’t have to agree! My problem lies within the fact that I constantly see anti zk’s assert that zutara is an inherently problematic ship or that people who enjoy the ship are problematic or are just hysterical women. Those assumptions are problematic and unfounded and if anything perpetuate misogynistic stereotypes about women being not knowing which man is actually good for them. It also requires an incredible amount of cognitive dissonance to arrive at those conclusions because the people who argue that Zutara shippers only like Zutara because they want a bad boy will talk about how Zuko has a great redemption arc in the same breath. We truly cannot have watched the same show, watched Zuko say “Hello, Zuko here” if they think the appeal of Zutara is that Zuko is a “bad boy.” However, even if it was, that still wouldn’t justify the constant negative assumptions made about the people who enjoy the ship, or the way those generalizations about zutara shippers are used as a way to delegitimize zutara (ad hominem fallacy). I fucking hate kataang and I am open and honest about that, but I don’t go around saying the actual people who ship kataang are problematic or are all secretly incels because that is a ridiculous and unfounded generalization. I hate kataang so I will critique kataang, not try to discredit its shippers in an attempt to make the ship seem less legitimate. I cannot say I’ve seen anti zks and the general fan base behave similarly.
I can’t speak for the anti kataangers in kataang tags because fun fact i have it blocked because i don’t like it! But I will say, although i do not condone going into other ships tags to instigate, there a massive difference between shitting on a ship versus shitting on the people who enjoy a ship. And mind you, I noticed the pattern of people shitting on zutara fans long before i even became a zutara fan. This is a trend amongst this general fan base that flares up anytime new atla content is released and I was venting about it on my page as someone who is tired of it. It is my god given right to vent about a fictional couple I don’t like on my page and to vent about the fandom discourse trends I notice. If you notice different ones and want to vent about make your own goddamn post, don’t act like a coward and send anon hate just because you disagree with me. I have my opinion and you’re entitled to yours. You have your own experiences with this fan base and I have mine. If your upset, vent about it on your own goddamn page instead of accosting me with your dumbassery.

Idk how true that mature live-action avatar show rumor was that wanted blood & sex in it but you can bet zucest was going to be highlighted since every show wants to be GoT now & that show put a spotlight on the taboo kink
I honestly don't know what the hell the live action is going to be, but if they're gonna make any non-canon ship happen, it's going to be Zutara - and knowing Netflix, they won't actually build up to it and are going to keep all the Kataang development, so the change will make no sense and feel out of place.
But even if I were to assume that they wanted to make this live-action Avatar "the new Game Of Thrones", that'd just make me pray to every God that they DON'T do Zucest, even though it is my OTP, and especially BECAUSE it is my OTP. It's just gonna make it the fanon version of Jaime and Cersei's relationship.
Instead of it being two disaster siblings latching onto each other out of genuine affection, codependency, obsession, narcisism AND BECAUSE IT MADE NARRATIVE SENSE, it'd just be cheap shock-vallue/fanservice, that would later be followed by "Actually HE is not a fuck-up, he is just a poor man that was manipulated by his evil sister, and he will be saved by the love of a non-evil woman and MURDER HIS DEMONIC SISTER" like all the people who kept trying to woobify Jaime so they'd be "allowed" to ship him with Brienne wanted the story to go, because for some God forsaken reason they didn't realize characters and dynamics don't have to be "perfect" or "good" for you to enjoy them.
Azula already gets called an evil slut and even a rapist despite there being zero canon evidence for it (and there being a ton AGAINST IT) just because people want any excuse to hate her. If the live action went the Zucest route, it'd be evil Azula trying to seduce the innocent, honorable Zuko who would have every bad thing he did excused since "Azula made him do it" and I DO NOT have time for that bullshit.
My feelings on the live-action can be summed up in three sentences, and the third one is pretty much how I feel about any adaptation/sequel/reboot/fanfic making Zucest happen:
1 - Not every animated series needs a live action version (in fact, most of them don't)
2 - Violence and sex are not enough, or needed, to make a story more "adult" - not everything needs to be GOT (especially when GOT went downhill long before the final season)
3 - If you can't do it right, don't do it at all

Hi. What would you say to antis who say that:
“Zutara wont be good together because their personality clash. They’re not exactly opposites attract. They both have short tempers, too stubborn, too passionate, too emotional; whereas Mai and Aang would be a perfect counterbalance to Z n K personalities.
Z/K would be soooo angsty and overly melodramatic. In the show, Zuko relents to Katara because he’s trying to amend, but what would happen when he’s not trying and just angry/ at his worst temper? He also brought up a lot of anger and hate in her. And Katara connects a lot of her childhood trauma to him. Most of their relationship has been a rollercoaster of trust and betrayal.”
Hello, thanks for the question!
First of all, the idea that "opposites attract" is hugely misogynistic, especially when it demonizes women for being too emotional and insists that they need men to provide rationality. Which is, coincidentally, not what happens in KA's relationship, anyway. Most times it's Katara having to calm Aang down and bear the responsibility for his anger, whether it be him literally going into a blind rage via the Avatar state, or getting angry at her for not fitting his ideal of her. It's just that Aang has the appearance of being the calm, pure rational one while the show and the fandom often portray Katara, a dark-skinned brown girl, as out of control. I wonder why.
Similarly, the idea that Zuko needs a caretaker is abuse apologism. Zuko has emotional issues due to abuse, but he actively chooses to work on them and Mai didn't do jack on that front. Zuko and Mai could not see eye to eye and constantly fought because her only way to deal with his emotions was to shut him down, which did nothing to actually calm him down because repressing your emotions doesn't actually make you feel better. This is why Zuko finally explodes at her and tells her he wishes she would feel something. Because Zuko needs to be allowed to feel, and he needs someone who will be there with him, not someone who tells him to shut up and put up. Mai is also not as calm and rational as she seems. She can be vicious when she's angry. She won't put up with Zuko's emotional turmoil but will threaten and berate him when he does things she doesn't like, like breaking up with her, lol.
Saying that Katara and Zuko's relationship on the show would be indicative of how they would be as a couple doesn't really work because it ignores the specific situations they were in. It wasn't a "rollercoaster," which is a word that implies a constant up and down with no pattern, it was a clear arc of them initially bonding over trauma after starting out as enemies, him betraying her trust, her reacting to him out of anger, and him making amends. After that, they don't fight at all. This wasn't a domestic situation where two people get into a relationship and then constantly fight over small things (hi, Mai and Zuko) this was a situation of two people who initially did not trust each other because they were on opposite sides of a war, which is a perfectly sensible reason to not trust someone. They bonded over shared trauma, but they still were not in a place where they could make each other any promises. Katara can't follow through on her offer to heal him, and Zuko can't fully commit to her side because he still has ties to his family and a ton of psychological conditioning to overcome. It's not the same as a betrayal that happens between two lovers or even friends, because they barely knew each other in the first place and were in no position to give each other what they needed, and never made any promises towards one another in the first place. As it is, the times they fight on the show actually make them stronger because they start from the bottom, as complete enemies, form an initial bond, break that bond, but are left with lingering feelings towards one another that lead them to make amends. If it's a rollercoaster, it's one that, despite its dips, is actually moving upwards. That's why I and many others have said that if anything, their fights indicate an ability to grow, not that they would constantly clash. If Katara never expressed anger at Zuko for betraying her and he had never confronted her about it, they would have never made amends. Hell, if he hadn't betrayed her in the first place, he would have never known that her trust was something he wanted. His anger there was born of a desire to be better, and helped him be better.
Ditto on the idea that Zuko "brought up hate and anger in Katara." First of all, Katara's hatred for Yon Rha is NOT a bad thing. Her desire for justice is one of her most admirable traits. And Zuko did not create her anger, it was already there. What he did was give her a healthy outlet for it, and tell her it was okay for her to feel it without trying to moralize her feelings.
Being angry is not a bad thing, and if you are afraid of your partner's emotions to the point that you cannot confront each other honestly, then you will have more relationship issues than two people who are able to meet each other on equal terms. Because of their experiences, Zuko and Katara know that they aren't afraid to confront and talk honestly with each other, and that's something that I think would carry over if they were to ever have a romantic relationship. Would they fight? Probably, but that's normal. What matters is how you deal with conflict in a relationship. And Zuko and Katara are both the types of people for whom it is not healthy to ignore conflict. They both feel strongly about things, and in both cases what they need is someone who will be there to feel with them. When Zuko and Katara were angry and in pain, they did not want to be calmed down by their respective love interests. But when they bonded in the caves, and again when they went on their field trip, it wasn't because one tried to "fix" the other. What they did for each other was much more meaningful, someone to be there and say "I know you are in pain, I'm in pain too." Sometimes "I hear you" can be a more powerful conflict resolution than trying to put a bandaid on pain.

Non-con kisses are sexual assaults.
Tumblr media
There is some strange things about words.
"He kissed me even if I didn't like it"
"He kissed me when I didn't want it"
"He kissed me without my consent"
"He sexually assaulted me"
They all sound different, don't they?
"He sexually assaulted me" sounds the worst eventhough it's exactly the same as "He kissed me without my consent".
When I say Aang sexually assaulted Katara, people go, "When? Where? I don't remember that".
Words are powerful and it sometimes bring people down to earth and see exactly what's wrong with something that looks innocent.
Sexual assault is a sexual assault. It must never be belittled. The victims mustn't be demonized, blamed or even overlooked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's the worst?
She may be looking fine with the first kiss (they didn't talk about it) but the second kiss? (She didn't want to be kissed. She got angry. Also, the conversations before that kiss. Wtf Aang?!)
This is the most obsessive thing I have ever heard.
Tumblr media
"If I hadn't blocked my chakra, I'd probably be in the Avatar State right now!"
-Aang, the Avatar.
(He means the idea of Zutara is what makes him angry a.k.a Katara being with someone else than him is not tolerable. HE OWNS KATARA 🙄)
And Katara is literally oblivious because she thought he only hated the play because... I don't know... at least didn't think Aang meant it that way.
Tumblr media
"We kissed at the invasion, and I thought we were going to be together. But we're not"
-Aang, the Avatar.
(1. You kissed her without her consent. Just because she didn't talk about it afterwards, it doesn't mean anything like she wanted it.
2. Just because YOU kissed her, that doesn't mean you're going to be together. It's wrong)
"Why don't you know?"
"Well, when is the right time?"
-Aang, the Avatar.
(Should I even explain this part? 😶)
Also, Aang DIDN'T try to kiss Katara. He kissed her.
*Sighs* And considering kids will watch the show and copy Aang is enough to make me go mad.
(Think about kids learning "it's right to kiss a girl even if she doesn't want it because she will kiss you after that") 🙂
As a person who still suffers from sexual assault (unwanted touch and some unwanted shows), I have no idea what to say, even.

This is my response, tho.

we’ve been mutuals for ages so i thought it was time to ask about your unpopular atla/tlok/kyoshi opinions :D
xD Tbh I feel like my opinions tend to be more controversial with Avatar than unpopular. Obviously I'm open to discussion if anyone wants to have one or if anyone needs clarification on any of these opinions lol. My goal isn't to cause fighting and more discourse but rather open up some discussion. Mostly I'm a to each their own kind of person; even if I don't like a certain ship or agree with certain headcanons I won't be bashing people who do ship/have them. And I don't think that xyz headcanon is wrong just because I disagree with that.
Disclaimers aside lol;
Some of the ones that I know are unpopular for Avatar:
I don't ship Azula/Therapy (there's a lot to get into here and I've done it quite a bit). My bottom line is that I don't mind Azula/Therapy so long as it isn't being used as a means to belittle people who do ship her with other characters. I'm also fine with it in the light that Azula/Character while she's getting therapy or something like that. There's a lot more to it, anyone can feel free to ask for clarification here. But I kind of don't really even see it as a ship so much as a concept. And as a joke I don't really find it that funny as I feel like it takes a very serious topic and makes it sound 'cute' or 'quirky' and that just ain't it for me.
I don't ship Zukka. Tbh I don't really feel strongly about it at all.
I don't ship Mailee either. I've seen quite a bit of Mailee content that is pretty anti-Azula so I tend to just stay away from that. Though I'm down for recs with fic and art that aren't anti-Azula
I don't think that Azula is a lesbian. I feel like she is Bi/Ace or Aro/Ace. Which is probably due to me being aro/ace and wanting some rep lol.
I am very very neutral to Suki. I feel like a lot of people really like her. I think she's just eh. I have no strong opinion on her either which way.
I don't really hate any character. There are some characters I like less/don't find as interesting but I don't really hate any of them.
I do feel kind of bad for Ozai as he was also probably abused as a kid. The reason I don't feel as though he's redeemable though is because he's a grown man who is pretty set in his ways.
Foamy mouth guy isn't funny.
I feel like Katara's power/strength is more in healing than fighting. Like that's her specialty and it kind of bothers me when people downplay that because imo it's refreshing to have a character who is considered great and powerful not because they are the strongest fighter but because they are a great healer and defender. Aang is also a good example of this.
I don't really talk about this much because it really isn't that deep xD but I get confused when people talk about Katara's bloodbending as if she can just do it any time??? Correct me if I'm wrong but she can only do it during a full moon. Amon and his family are the only people who could do it without a full moon. So it kind of bothers me when people just casually toss 'oh Katara could totally kick Azula/Toph/Zuko's ass with bloodbending anytime.'
I like both Azula and Zuko and feel like both of them either get babied or demonized. And that takes away from the complexities of both of their characters.
Iroh isn't completely wise. He has moments where he's not morally correct. And he should have moments like this because it would be unrealistic for him to never do wrong ever.
Kataang vs Zutara is getting really old.
I feel like this fandom can be very hostile to Azula fans and it gets hard to deal with so sometimes I have to just avoid the tag for a while. Idk if this one is an unpopular opinion or if other people feel the same. But then again I've heard that Katara and Aang have also had an influx of hate as well. In general it's just sad to see such cool characters getting talked about in the ways that some people talk about them. I've seen people say that "it's Azula's fault that she's being abused by Ozai" and "Katara needs to shut up about her mom and move on" and "Zuko is whiney and overdramatic." And these statements are just :S Basically I wish that the nice people could start talking over all of the people who just seem to enjoy bashing their least favorite characters more than they like talking about their favorites.
I don't entirely hate the comics. There are aspects of them that I hate but there are also parts that I really enjoyed.
LoK
Not a fan of Suyin. Not just because I like Kuvira but also because of her backstory with Lin. NGL she struck me as kind of a brat.
I'm not a big fan of Opal or Zhu Li either. Like I don't hate either of them but they just aren't my cup of tea.
I liked Tanho from the start.
Meelo is kind of annoying imo.
I don't like Mako at all. He lost me when he cheated on Asami.
Idk if this is unpopular but I didn't really like season 2.
I was kind of disappointed with Kuvira's backstory. I liked aspects of it but I had different expectations.
I don't think that it was a rushed backstory so much as the writers only had like 80 pages per comic to work with. It would have been better if it were in the show or something.
Korra wasn't a bad Avatar. She had her own road blocks to overcome and her own learning to do just like Aang.
I don't really have any for Kyoshi except for maybe that I don't think that Kyoshi is this aggressive murder machine lol.
Again anyone can feel free to discuss. I try to keep an open mind with these types of things.

1. Aunty Azula recovering post-canon, but still snarky and still hates 99% of people, but has the softest spot for the Steambabies (Zutara).
2. Azula being completely against Zutara until a certain event ( Kat healing her or defending her or etc) and after which she is Kat’s absolute #1 fan and will fight anyone (noblemen/noblewomen or anyone) who has something to say about her. Bonus, if the 2 gang up on poor Zuko haha
Ps. Can you tell that I have a soft spot for Azula 👀
She remembers the days she walked through darkness. It was like an endless thunderstorm in her mind. She remembers feeling like she no longer knew who she was. Her whole identity had revolved around being the Fire Lord's progeny. She was born lucky. She was born to conquer. The day of her defeat had taken everything away from her.
The world around her had considered her as lost as she considered herself. Hopeless. Useless. Dead. There was nothing left for the disgraced princess.
The only ones who showed her mercy were the ones she'd most betrayed. The Avatar, naïve as he often was, always believed in her redemption. Ty Lee was also convinced that she could find the girl she once loved. The others were more cautious and rightfully dubious, but nevertheless treated her more human than she would often treat herself.
It took years to crawl out of the darkness of her mind. Sometimes she still teetered on the edge, threatening to fall back into oblivion. But she swore an oath to herself that she would regain her honour, that she would redeem herself and make her own own destiny. The further from the darkness she was, the more she understood her brother. They were both such victims of a tyrannical man who used his children as pawns. She thought her father genuinely loved her and favoured her over her brother---and he did, because she was easier to use. He knew how to tap the mind of an overly ambitious child who wanted nothing more than the love of the one parent she had left.
At least Zuko was able to escape.
She shook her head to shake off the thought. Now was not the time for bitterness. That was way behind her. Don't look back. Look forward.
When she had been properly familiarised with the Avatar's gang, she found so many things were different than she had thought. The Avatar was with the blind girl, the nonbender with the Kyoshi Warrior...and the waterbender with her brother.
That was a...tricky demon to banish. That was another wound to heal. Seeing the two people most responsible for her downfall was a deeply-embedded thorn. Even out of the darkness, she still was bothered by it, though logically couldn't understand why.
She supposed maybe it was a deep-seated bias against Water Tribesmen that was a reason for her discomfort. The Fire Nation had not been fond of the Tribes because, unlike the Earth Kingdom, they could neither be bought nor bullied. Ravaged as the Southern Water Tribe was, it never stopped fighting or standing up for itself. Maybe there was something to admire in that.
Whatever discomfort she had about the waterbender was clearly reflected. The waterbender was incredibly protective of Zuko, and was very wary of his sister. She feared the former princess could slip back at any moment...and, to be honest, sometimes the princess feared that herself. She couldn't make that guarantee to herself, much less to anyone else.
She didn't think their union could last. Fire and water mix like...well, fire and water. They just don't.
And yet, by the spirits, they did.
She didn't attend their wedding. She couldn't. She didn't need the attention.
She didn't have the right, anyway.
And then came the kids.
Turned out Zuko's greatest honour comes through his kids. He makes an amazing father, determined to be everything their father wasn't. He's supportive. He's attentive. He dotes and yet knows when to give them their freedom. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't sometimes jealous.
Their first was Rinaya, a studious, dedicated firebender whom the Fire Lord adores. Sometimes she can see a little of herself in Rinaya, and her brother takes notice. He seems to be on his guard, watching for warning signs of history repeating itself. He seems determined never to tell his children about their grandfather; the waterbender believes they have the right to know.
She personally prefers to keep everything where it belongs, but she understands the need for awareness. Her family is a strong cautionary tale.
Sometimes, she helps Rinaya learn firebending. It still catches her by surprise to see a normal-coloured flame coming from her hands. When she lost the darkness, she lost the blue fire. She always considered it her trademark, her pride, but constantly tries to remind herself that it was an ill pride. Imbalance isn't a virtue, after all. It wasn't something to hold up to her name.
She likes to think of herself as bonding with her niece, although Rinaya's mother is never far from sight.
She remembers her brother mentioning his early days with the Avatar's gang, and his struggle to neutralise his relationship with the waterbender. There was something in his heart that made it important to redeem himself to her. His sister never asks him further. She knows he shares her desire to leave history alone.
She didn't know that she'd ever reclaim her honour in the waterbender's eyes. She was once afraid to try, thinking it a lost cause, not that she could blame her sister-in-law.
But something changed when Akiyo was born. He was a nonbender, which was taboo in royal history. The Fire Nation takes badly to heirs and heiresses who are not firebenders; Akiyo couldn't even talk yet and he was made a disgrace in the eyes of Fire Nation society. Through this, she found a bizarre feeling of kinship with him, and swore herself to his side as his protector. Maybe a dishonoured princess guarding a dishonoured prince was where her destiny lay.
Through Akiyo, she grew fond of his mother. She saw the pure courage and passion that she possessed, and came to admire everything she had pulled herself through. Often, she wished she could ask how she kept her strength and optimism, wished she could borrow even a drop of her courage. But she knew enough to keep her distance. She was still not trusted. Someday. Not today.
But she's close enough to what matters most to her, and that means the world.
Today, she looks in the mirror, and no longer sees the girl she once was. She paints the white onto her face, and then the red markings, happily covering the face that often haunted her. She slides the gold adornment onto her topknot, places the personal headband, and climbs into the emerald robes, fastening the leather breastplate and aged katana. She makes her way to the foyer and out the front entrance, where she is greeted by her old friend.
"Good morning, Azula," chirps the other, giving her shoulder a meaningful squeeze.
She smiles broadly in response, briefly pulling Ty Lee into a tight hug. Then, she stands back, assumes her guard, and casts her gaze outward into the world.

sick of that tired ass shipping bs
With ATLA’s resurgence due to getting back on netflix and the upcoming Live Action show it’s profoundly disappointing that some of the fandom’s ship rhetoric apparently hasn’t changed in like the decade it’s been off the air.
This fandom and (many others tbh) need to learn that you don’t have to trash a ship or a character to justify your ship. If you like Zutara, you don’t have to lovingly paint Aang as a toxic sociopath to like Zutara. You can just say “I like Zutara’s dynamic better.” If you like Kataang, you don’t have to act like Zuko is just an anger machine incapable of positive emotions. You can just say “I like Kataang’s dynamic better.”
Tumblr fandom in general has a stupid thing about how you can’t dislike something unless it’s for moral purity reasons and it’s fucking stupid. This is me showing my age but back in some of fandom’s earlier days, people were better about respecting each other’s ships. It was generally understood that people might not have the same ship and that it was okay. It was also understood that some people might be multi-shippers where they like “opposing” ships or like OT3s. Even though it still happened, disrespecting other people’s ships was at least widely seen as toxic and unpleasant and people might write essays about why they liked their ship but went a little less hard on trying to prove opposing ships were outright immoral.
ATLA fandom was actually one of the first ones I remember getting particularly virulent over what ship was the most “right” or “better” and it’s become an annoying trend I’ve seen take over a lot of fandoms. What you like isn’t “better” or “more right” it’s just your preference. Just like preferring one character over another doesn’t mean the character you dislike is objectively bad. If Zuko is my favorite more than Aang it’s not a situation where Aang is like this terrible terrible monster of a character, I just connect more with Zuko.
And especially with Kataang and Zutara, the truth is that Katara maybe shouldn’t have hooked up with anyone at the end of canon. Aang was too young, Zuko was too emotionally damaged and probably needed some time to work on himself. As someone who also grew up with abuse, I find anyone treating him as immediately emotionally able to maintain a serious relationship kind of dismissive of the abuse he suffered and unrealistic. The comics even show that he drove Mai away for a bit because he needed to get to a better place and that rung true to me.
Criticism of the rushed nature of the endgame ships was pretty fair, but it also means that that Zutara would’ve been rushed too based on the emotional issues Zuko had to process. Which leaves post-canon as a playground where any ship could be written to make “sense” and where liking one or the other or all of them is just preference.
This fandom isn’t the only fandom that needs to learn to slow it’s roll on agonizing over how certain ships are right and everything else is garbage. They’re also not the only fandom that demonizes characters that get in the way of their ships. But I hate that it’s the fandom where I noticed that trend starting to get super bad and as a multishipper, I can say some of you have made the fandom annoying to deal with at times. It’s also extra disappointing knowing that’s probably going to carry over into the fandom of the LA series. With the people who do that, I really hope some of the new potentially younger fans that might join the fandom don’t follow your shitty example. They’re all solid characters with a lot of reasonable potential shipping configurations.
Also, I honestly think some people need to grow up and not get childish over ships. A lot of the fans of the show back then were teens and young adults so now y’all are adult-adults (some of you list ages on your tumblr) and still acting like this over ships of teenage children? I’ve seen people still stuck on this in adulthood and ripping apart a 12 year old child to justify a ship, Like jesus h christ the characters are all babies and some of you are adults, why are you like this? You should’ve evolved and matured past this outlook years ago.

*sigh* why do people keep comparing r/eylo to zutara and putting them in the same group? Were they not paying attention to the show? Did they not see Zuko's evolution?
Honestly, I really don’t know.
Like, ok, superficially, I can almost kinda get it. Angry boy with a scar on his face and the girl who could kick his ass offering to heal him? Ok, fine. Even aesthetically, red and blue, tol and smol, fine. I can sorta see it. But the instant you dig even a little bit deeper, they just… aren’t the same at all???? Not even remotely????
And, ok, I’ll admit to some measure of bias, because I don’t ship reylo and I don’t like it as a ship, nor do I want it to happen in any way in canon, but like, part of the reason Zutara works so well is that it’s not a hero/villain ship. It’s enemies-to-lovers, for sure, but the vast majority of us ship it because of Zuko’s redemption arc.
Yeah, you’ll see ‘I’ll save you from the pirates’ UST jokes, and a lot of us started shipping it back in book 1, but it was obvious from the beginning that Zuko was going to get redeemed. He may have been a villain, but he was never the villain–he was narratively placed as the secondary protagonist (deuteragonist) of the show from his very first appearance. He was given his own narrative arc that had little to do with the main plotline of Aang’s journey, because while his own journey ran parallel to the gaang, it was separate and distinct because he was on his way to his own redemption even then.
Zuko Alone, in book 2, drove this home even further. You don’t give someone who isn’t the primary protagonist of the show an episode all to themselves (literally none of the gaang shows up for even a second) unless this is a character who’s meant to have just as much narrative significance as the main cast. Zuko was always going to join the gaang, and so much zutara meta and fanfic rests on how amazing and emotionally fulfilling their relationship development was, as friends, and that it would have made so much sense for their friendship to go even further.
Reylo doesn’t have any of that.
First of all, Kylo Ren is not Zuko–not even close. Kylo has far more agency in being dark than Zuko ever did. Ben Solo had loving parents and grew up in a supportive environment. His uncle ultimately made a mistake, sure, but a) we see three versions of that particular story: the sanitized version (luke), the demonized version (kylo), and the truth, and b) kylo already had the knights of ren all ready to go and slaughter a bunch of kids.
He was already dark. You don’t go and murderdeathkill a bunch of kids and people you’d ostensibly been raised with just because you saw your uncle standing over you with a lightsaber he clearly wasn’t going to actually use unless you were already making plans to do just that. You can blame as much of it as you want on Snoke and his influence, but that would be a little like blaming Palpatine for Anakin–yeah, he gets some of the blame for manipulating the situation, but Anakin’s still the one who made the choice to kill a temple full of children and choke out his own wife. Darth Vader may have, in the end, chosen to return to the light, but that doesn’t absolve him of the evils he chose to commit.
Kylo is, tragically, in the same narrative position as Darth Vader was in the original trilogy–and Vader couldn’t even bring himself to kill his son.  But Kylo chose to kill his father. And that, incidentally, is one of the places where Zuko and Kylo are essentially diametrically opposed. Zuko turned on Uncle Iroh, yes, but he didn’t cross a line from which there was no coming back–he didn’t kill him. He, in fact, kept going to see him, trying to figure out why the choice he’d made felt so wrong when it was supposed to be everything he’d always wanted. Meanwhile, Kylo murdered his own father because he was hoping to destroy that last link to his own humanity.
And he succeeded.
Furthermore, Rey is not Katara. I love them both, so much, but they are very different people, and different characters who fulfill different narrative spaces in their own stories. In Rey’s position, Katara would probably have killed Kylo in the throne room when he turned on her after killing Snoke. Or, placing Kylo in Zuko’s place in atla, if he’d killed Hakoda (remembering that Han was the only father figure rey’d ever known)? She would have destroyed him. No fucking mercy
Katara does not forgive easily. It took Zuko not only proving that he was on the side of good (which he did multiple times, one of which he even saved her father), but specifically proving to her that he cared for her and genuinely wanted to help–by helping her gain closure for her mother’s murder. She emotionally connected with Zuko in the crystal catacombs, sure, but when he turned on her she hated him and had no intention of turning back. (Even though, from Zuko’s perspective, it wasn’t a betrayal at all–he’d made no promises, and it was his sister offering him everything he’d ever wanted. As far as he was concerned, the only person he betrayed there was his uncle, which is why it took him so long to realize just why Katara hated him so much. And even then he needed her brother’s help to figure out how to fix it.)
On the other hand, Rey was ready, willing, even eager to believe that Kylo could be returned to the light side–could become Ben again. This after he’d done something utterly unforgiving right in front of her, and tried to kill her multiple times. (Notably, at no point during Zuko and Katara’s antagonistic relationship was Zuko actually trying to kill her. He was trying to capture Aang. The worst thing he did was burn down Suki’s village, and that was largely an accident, because he was trying to get to Aang to capture him–alive.) She wanted to believe there was good in him. Katara couldn’t have cared less, throughout the first two books–and then, when confronted with the fact that Zuko had suffered something to which she could relate, she connected with him… and he turned on her. (From her perspective, she’d just reached out and offered this boy a chance to prove he’d changed… and he threw it in her face. So yeah, she took it incredibly fucking personally.)
Even now, it’s possible that if Kylo comes at Rey with some ‘I’m really light now’ story, she’ll probably want to believe him. But even if Reylo happens (and I’ll stress that I really don’t think it’s going to, and if it does I’ll probably be bitterly disappointed, but what else is new) it won’t even remotely resemble Zutara because they are, at their core, incredibly different relationships. Katara didn’t start warming up to Zuko, after that book 2 betrayal, until after he’d proven himself again and again, and helped her begin to heal from the trauma she’d suffered as a child. Furthermore, Zuko was never that evil to begin with. He was being primed for a redemption arc from the start, and he never even came close to the sort of moral event horizon Kylo pole-vaulted over when he murdered a whole bunch of students in their beds and then killed his own father.
And here’s the thing a lot of these Zuko-lite redemption arcs don’t seem to understand–it’s not a one-size-fits-all storyline. You can’t just slap Zuko’s redemption arc on any old villain, because for a redemption to work, it needs to be tailored specifically to fit the villain in question. And most villains aren’t Zuko–he was a very special kind of ‘secondary protagonist who starts out bad and gets a little bit worse before he gets better and joins the good guys’, which most villains can’t hope to match. If you want to redeem someone who’s canonically done far more atrocious acts, their redemption has to encompass the fact that not only are they getting better, but they are actively atoning for the horrible things they’ve done.
Killian Jones, from Once Upon a Time, had a redemption arc which looked nothing like Zuko’s, because he wasn’t a villain like Zuko. His redemption involved not only coming to realize that he’d been doing bad things for a very long time in search of a vengeance which was, ultimately, not what he really wanted or needed, but also making amends to the people he’d hurt over his very long life (those he still could help, at least). (Interestingly enough, that same show had a great example of a horribly botched redemption, in which we were supposed to take it on faith that the character was Good Now even though she’d never once expressed either remorse for the evil she’d committed [which was a lot more evil than Killian ever had] or a desire to make amends to those she’d wronged. In fact, come the end of the show, she still had a vault full of stolen hearts she’d never so much as made an effort to return, even though many of their owners were, ostensibly, in the same town she’d created through one of her many acts of villainy. It was… kind of strange, to say the least, to see how they could get one villain’s redemption so right and another’s so horribly wrong.)
Anyway, tl;dr: the upshot of this all is, Kylo Ren is not Zuko–he’s not even close–and Rey is not Katara. Their relationships look nothing alike, and even if Kylo is redeemed, it’s not going to look anything like Zuko’s redemption–partly because Zuko was never that bad to begin with and Kylo would have much more for which to atone, partly because their narrative journeys are so very very different–and I have never understood the comparison beyond a very surface-level reading of their character aesthetics.

Propaganda Under Cut
Mai
she’s constantly pushed aside for the zuko/sokka ship :/ like i’m not a fan of mai/zuko but they always forget her or make her a wingwoman or make her a villain.
She's a very interesting character who had the misfortune of being the love interest of the series' most popular character, Zuko, which immediately made her public enemy No. 1 in certain parts of the fandom. Tbh I think she's more a victim of zutara (an m/f ship) than zukka (m/m) but zukka also screwed her over so it counts. She's at best sidelined and at worst demonized. There's a whole section of the fandom who'll swear up and down she's abusive for telling Zuko to deal with his mental health issues himself. There's whole essays on it and I'm not exaggerating.
tell me WHY people think she's abusive just because she?? got mad at zuko?? when zuko was being a horrible boyfriend to begin with?? because theyre both teenagers and they were literally Acting Like Teenagers?? anyway no more mai hate the world has moved past the need for mai hate

I’m going to do a weird.
I know a whole lot of us are stuck at home due to the COVID19 outbreak and all our respective governments attempting to flatten the curve. So I’m going to break out my VAST library of fanfiction recommendations for you to read! Please bear in mind that my tastes in fics are not necessarily like yours so the following 15 Fandom reccs might be hit or miss. All ships and above T ratings will be tagged with brackets, all crossovers will be mentioned in those same brackets. Also, if I mention it’s part of a series, I’m not just recommending the fic I mentioned, I’m recommending the whole series. I’ve tried to recommend a different author’s fic each time. So! Let’s start with the 3 fandoms I mention in my blog description.
1) ATLA Fate Deferred (Zutara) Aang remains in the iceberg ten years longer. Sozin’s comet comes, the world keeps turning with no Avatar to save it, and by the time he’s finally found by a waterbender and her Fire Nation husband, a lot has changed. [Zutara established relationship full series rewrite; Now on Book II: Earth]  Cheating at Pai Sho (Canon Divergence) “You said you were the Avatar!” “…I lied?” Aang doesn’t get rescued in episode two, and no one’s seen him go glowy yet… so he starts bluffing. Hard. Or: “The Avatar joins Zuko’s quest to find the Avatar.” In which Zuko doesn’t join the Gaang, the Gaang joins Zuko.  The Undying Fire: Blood and Fire (First in the Undying Fire Series, eventual Zutara) Book 1. In which rescuing the Avatar from Pohuai Stronghold doesn’t end so well. It’s a tough life being a banished prince trying to get home, especially when the Avatar just wants to be your friend and keeps making everything confusing. Oh, and did Zuko mention he somehow healed the kid? Yeah, that happened. Stalking Zuko (First in the Stalking Zuko Series, eventual Zutara) Katara has developed a new hobby. At the Western Air Temple she takes to stalking Zuko. Much silliness and shenanigans follow. In chapter 20: Katara and Zuko return home to the others. Katara hates the F word and she comes to a decision regarding Zuko.  Embers (Canon divergence) Dragon’s fire is not so easily extinguished; when Zuko rediscovers a lost firebending technique, shifting flames can shift the world…  2) Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Father (Percabeth in the GFFA, eventual Anidala) It all started with a wish, but because it was Percy Jackson it couldn’t have been a friendly goddess granting him a wish. No, it had to be Nemesis, goddess of revenge and balance. Now Percy and Annabeth are stuck in a strange new galaxy right when an ancient and powerful darkness finally begins to stir.  Glass Figures (MCU Mashup) I lifted my gun, pointing it towards the minefield of shattered fragments, and kicked the small coffee table out of the way.Only to stare down at an awfully familiar face, which split into a somewhat lopsided grin. 11 questions tag
Thank you for tagging me @thebookfreak. This was harder than I expected. Mostly because I am such an indecisive person and change my mind a lot. Also I took way too long until I posted this… Sorry…
Rules: Answer the 11 questions then make 11 of your own for the people you tag.
1. What’s the cuisine you’ve always wanted to try?  I don’t really have one that I’d like to try and I can be quiet picky when I don’t know how something tastes like. Also I can’t eat spicy and I should feel ashamed because I’m Asian and should be able to…
2. Are you a dog person or a cat person?  I’d say both, but I’m leaning towards cats. They represent me as a person, but dogs are still fun to play with. Both are amazing pets to have, but sadly I don’t have any pets. Yet.
3. Do you ever just sit and watch the sky? When I was younger I always looked up at the sky and tried to think up some stories about the different shapes of the clouds. It was very amusing, but now I don’t really take the time to enjoy the vast blueness that is gracing this earth. But I do enjoy sunrises, sunsets and the night sky. If I have the time, feel nostalgic or have an existential crisis I look up towards the sky and just let my mind wander around.
Last week when we were on a school trip to Greek, they night sky was splendid! I was so in awe that I had to lay down and watch the stars while my friends waited for me… It was worth laying on the dirty ground.
4. If you were able to meet your fav fictional character who would it be? What would you ask them? It was hard to think of one person and I took a while, but after looking at my bookshelf I’d say Ash from the book series ‘Iron Fey’ by Julie Kagawa. I’d love to ask him, if he secretly likes Puck and sees a love interest in him… I’m sorry! Their bromance is just amazing… but (spoiler alert) I’m happy that he ended up with Meghan.
5. What’s the most dumb thing you’ve ever done?  There are so many things and I could literally facepalm myself every time my mind plays those scenarios.
One thing I’m thinking of right now is when we went bowling in 7th grade. I didn’t know how slippery the bowling ally is for the ball to roll through it smoothly. I overstepped the line and slipped on the alley while the bowling ball was stuck in the middle of the alley. I tried reaching for the ball before I realised that I should probably leave the alley asap. I managed to make the ball roll all the way to the pins by throwing another ball. Still, I was mortified and needless to say that I’m never setting foot on an ally again.
But there are many more things that make me have a cringe attack and facepalm myself multiple times, e.g. some interactions with people.
6. Have you ever broken the rules in a strict prohibition zone? Uhm… no? I don’t think so besides using my phone in school. Or maybe that I didn’t put my phone on flight mode when we were on an airplane… ups.
7. Three of your all time favorite songs. This is hard because I’m a very indecisive person and because I haven’t listened to anything much besides classical music and now some k-pop.
1.) Demons by Imagine Dragons
2.) Hey by Andreas Bourani (it’s a german song) and Stressed out by Twenty One Pilots. (Yes, I am cheating right now, but they are sharing the second place, because I can’t decide which one is better and definitely wanted to include this last song).
3.) And my recent favourite is from my new found k-pop group BTS:‘First love’.
I literally got dragged into BTS by my close friend like a month ago… and I regret nothing. (Ok, maybe my lost time that I could spend for school… but let’s be honest. I’d just procrastinate with something else.)
Tbh, I didn’t include any classical songs and I feel like I am betraying those amazing sounding songs… I apologise profusely, but there are just too many songs in this world to choose from. Additionally, I am still at this stage where I haven’t listened to many different genres and am still trying to find myself and my style etc..
8. Your fav dialogue. I’m hating these favourite things. I always have to rake up my brain with some answer… but I’d say Judy’s hustle scene in Zootopia. And obviously all those scenes in Sherlock Holmes.
9. Is there any ship you can litteraly argue like crazy? I don’t like ship wars and avoid confrontations, but I’d say I’m very passionate about some of my non-canon ships Kakasaku and Zutara and would defend them if necessary.
10. Do you still watch Disney movies?  Of course! And I still cry at the same scenes every time I rewatch them. It gets me every time. Those movies are just so good! And I am very emotionally invested when I watch them.
11. Do you believe in magic? I’m still waiting for my letter from Hogwarts… but my realistic brain tells me to go on with my normal life… (I’d choose Ravenclaw).
My questions:
1.) What’s your favourite childhood cartoon series?
2.) Butter or margarine? And why? (This debate came up on our school trip and I’m interested to see some other perspectives)
3.) Where would you like to travel to?
4.) What did you want to become when you were younger?
5.) Did you pursue that dream or would you still follow it through?
6.) Average hour of sleep every night?
7.) Any fears?
8.) If you could, would you change anything in the past?
9.) What superpower would you love to have?
10.) What are your dreams for the future?
11.) What’s your goal in life?
I’m tagging @mydarlingl0ve, @peachpie24, @61-darkangel (I hope you will come online someday) and @thebookfreak (yes, I’m tagging you back so you can answer some new questions :D).

I remember you saying that the Su-Lin drama won't happen in your AU but if it did happen, how would everyone (Taang, Zutara, Sukki + their kids, and the world) react?
Hi Anon, thank you for the ask! Also wow can't believe you picked up on that! I've thrown out a ton of answers about ships, so I'm glad that some of the info is sticking! Haha.
Oof this feels like a long and hard question, but let's break it down!
There's certainly the opportunity for the whole rift to happen, I have Lin and Su butting heads a lot, partly because of the LOK influence, and partly because a 6 year age difference between sisters with very different personalities can bring up a lot of drama. So, if Suyin runs with a bad crowd, gets arrested by her older sister, and accidentally scars her for life, this might be how everyone reacts.
Taang: Idt Toph has the full agency to just ship Suyin off to her parents since Aang is in the picture. My guess is that there's more of a conversation that occurs between Aang and Suyin (she's very close with him) and Toph and Aang probably make the collective decision for Suyin to either live with her grandparents or go with Gyatso (he'd be around 18 and travelling the world). They would notice her struggle with being confined to one area (Republic City) and would find ways for her to explore the world and find herself. She would still be reprimanded for what she did (and hopefully show remorse), but I don't think Lin would see it as enough. And Lin's stubbornness and grudge holding is unrivaled in the Beifong family. While I don't think she would place a ton of blame on her parents or family, I can see her taking the permanent scar thing poorly (I mean, who wouldn't) and never want to forgive her sister. She always gets away with things and never has to take responsibility, and now her punishment is to just travel? It would infuriate the woman because this is her sister and people always give her what she wants... Maybe it takes a couple years for the hurt in her heart to simmer, and then another few years for her to humor the idea of seeing Suyin again, but it would be a long road to forgiveness (none of that rock throwing for 5 minutes and "I'm sorry"//"Hey be a part of my life again" stuff).
Their brothers would be pretty proactive in listening to each side and trying to help them mend the wounds, but it still takes a lot. Gyatso would be the big mediator between the two and trying to tell both sides of the story, and Kenji would probably be the soundboard mainly for Lin since they both stay in Republic City. Unfortunately, the only two people that can really talk it out are Suyin and Lin, and while Su is ready for the conversation, Lin simply wouldn't be.
The rest of the family, Zutara, Sukka, and their kids would probably struggle with the situation as observers. Everyone has their own opinions on the matter and they want to help them get through it, but it's not their place to butt in. I think the dunebabies' cousins will try and talk with them, especially since they're all older than Lin and Su basically, hopefully helping them come to a resolution sooner. Lin might hear more of Kya's take than anyone else because she's always looked up to them, but other than that, it's kind of this demon and grudge that Lin has to deal with.
As for the world? Well, it would be in gossip columns everywhere and a subject brought up constantly in meetings and Q&A sessions. They would definitely hate it and almost always refuse to comment on it. There have been one or two times where Toph and Aang lose their cool and chew out a reporter, but not as often as one would think.
I think what would make Lin actually talk to Suyin would be a conversation with her mother and father. She would want to hear why Su got a slap on the wrist, and to hear the reasons why she should forgive her. Aang would probably discuss the pacifist benefits of forgiving, but Toph would probably talk about how it's not productive to hold grudges on people you love or something a little more blunt than Aang's suggestion, and how refusing to talk about the matter won't make the pain or frustration go away. She'll have to talk to Su face-to-face to find any closure, even if that closure isn't forgiveness.
A lot of words and thoughts, but hopefully they make sense! Thank you again for the question, Anon. This was a fun one to answer! Feel free to ask more questions or get some clarification if you need it, and have a nice day! :)
