I know that probably no one cares, but I feel like my take on byler is so strange, and I've been thinking about it a lot lately because I'm so deep in doubt. Like, don't get me wrong, I really really really want it to happen, more than anything (Mike Wheeler is definitely queer in some way, byler endgame or not)! But if mileven ends up being endgame, unless they completely destroy a character or their arc in the process, I think that's fine.

I understand the people who say byler's only been built up and mileven broken down since s3 (and I do mostly agree) but I genuinely think mileven is cute. I think they would be better as platonic besties, but if they are endgame I won't be too upset because we know they both care for eachother so much. I also would be happy if byler just stay besties, obv after Will's feelings are made clear and Mike accepts them.

idk if this even makes sense... but ig what I'm trying to say is I'm definitely a multishipper and all I want is for all my babies to be happy. I also just want to reiterate that I would much rather byler be endgame; I think that mileven is cute but byler is a million times cuter.

JUST MENTIONED THAT IN ANOTHER ASK BUT YEAH thats whats bothering me like...he just doesnt seem mentally ill in the way renfield is written to be, like renfields whole thing is.he doesnt pass.hes in and out of episodes, he has bad mood swings, he can barely hold it together when trying to mask, hes that mentally ill person people even nowadays point at and claim deserve to be locked up and treated badly because hes just too much, and THATS what makes him good to me, hes sympathetic and very much a victim even though hes everything people think shouldnt be sympathetic

hoult renfield (just gonna call movie renfield that for convenience) rn just seems...very sanitized? he acts normal and just a bit sad, hes standard pretty, even if we take into account the renfield movie is more based on the 1931 movie(s)...both the english and spanish versions of renfield still left it very clear hes very much not someone who can pass, his mental illness and trauma are extremely obvious, hoult renfield as of rn just feels like a sanitized idea of an abuse victim when you take into account how either renfields he could be based on act

“please..”

“You know I can’t do that.” A sigh.

They run their fingers through his hair, a comforting gesture.

“i..” He cuts himself short, taking time to think.

“i don't understand why you can’t just lovve me..” A heavy pause, sorting out his mind.

“the way humans do. not.. not troll.. lovve.”

He finally looks up from his place, nestled in the arms of his flush crush. 

“We both know how I feel, Eridan.” A soft look.

“don’t.. don’t say that. please.”

His tears are heavy, and roll down fast. They land on the human's shirt, leaving light violet imprints. The faint stains will forever remind the two of this night.

“Shh.” The human brings him back to their chest. Cradles him again and sways slightly.

The gentle rocking does nothing to soothe his aching heart.

“am i” he splutters “not good enough?”

“Wh- Eridan.. Love, you will always be good enough. That isn’t the problem sweetheart.”

“it hurts when you call me that.”

His voice is small.

“Sweetheart?”

He shakes his head.

“Oh. Love.”

He shrinks down further, pulling his legs into a fetal position.

“wwhy won’t you be red for me?”

He peeks up at the human’s face, his eyes wide and glassy.

“Eridan..”

You can almost hear his heart wrenching.

He shakes as he releases a heavy sob, clinging onto their shirt.

“please, pleasepleasePLEASE.” His chest heaves as he forces down a cough.

“just givve me a chance.. i’ll treat you like none other-”

“Eri-””wwe can take wwalks, and i’ll brin’ fancy jewwels. you like those, yes? the crystals? i’ll brin’ you breakfast in bed- i’ll do all the laundry and wwe can get a dog and take it on our dates and you’ll smile at me and we can be healthy. together-”

“Eridan please.”

His ramblings have quieted down into faint mumbles.

“Eridan honey, you know it won’t happen. I’m sorry”

He looks up again, desperate. 

He shoots straight up, fast enough to catch the human off guard. 

He leans in for a kiss.

“ERIDAN.”

He stops.

“Eridan, that isn't.. Appropriate.”

He looks confused and dejected.

“i- please. please?”

He is visibly shaken, frantic for the opposite party to understand and return his feelings.

“please, i just want you. i want- NEED your affection.”

The human begins to shift in their place, separating themself from the troll in their lap.

“please- please?”

His anxious energy gets the best of him and he clings to the human’s shirt, even as they start to stand.

“Eridan, my sweet boy. I’m sorry but I think.. You need to sort out your feelings. And I..”

He waits for them to continue.

“I don’t think I can help you.”

The human detaches themself and turns to leave.

“wwait, wwait please!”

They look back before the door shuts, a sorry look on their face.
