There are no more heroes.

Well, okay. Rewind a bit.

Danny has been doing the hero thing for a while now. He’s had a big reveal; everyone has accepted him (including his parents), the GIW disbanded, the Anti-Ecto acts repealed, and generally, everything is going great. Some of the A-Listers are even training as junior ghost hunters to help give him a break from his rogues! (Being Ghost King makes things hectic sometimes, and he just needs the extra help. Sue him!)

The point is, literally nothing is wrong with Danny Phantom’s afterlife.

And then Valerie Gray, the Red Huntress, disappears in front of his eyes.

Danny is baffled! She’s just…gone! Valerie just popped out of existence, like she was never there. But no matter how hard he searches in the Ghost Zone, he can’t find her soul anywhere. His core isn't broken in grief. So she’s not dead. Which is good. So then, where is she?

Some of the others come forward with ideas on how to find her. A few ghosts volunteer to go out into the mortal realm, an area Danny had declared off-limits, to see if she was out there. Danny approves it. He rounds up some of the friendlier (i.e., discreet) ghosts and Amity Parkers and demolishes the outside travel ban.

So everyone spreads out, looking for their dear frenemy and teammate. But it becomes apparent very quickly that something is wrong with the rest of the world.

There are no more heroes.

Every single living superhero on the face of the Earth has just…vanished. Villains are running amok; the countries are in chaos! Some aliens are invading Earth, mythical deities are trying to take over, and society is crumbling to the ground. Everything is on the brink of collapse.

Well, Danny was still there. And so were his people. They were pretty spread out, so could they just…take up the mantles? He also knew where to find the souls of dead heroes in the Zone; surely they wouldn't mind coming out of retirement for a little bit, especially if they couldn't die again. Oh! And that skeleton army leftover from Pariah Dark's reign might be useful in repelling those invading forces.

Honestly, there were more than enough hands to go around! And with the heroes gone, Danny didn't mind letting everyone out for a little break, as long as they followed his rules. They wouldn't stop the search for the other heroes, but hopefully, when they found them, the heroes wouldn't mind Danny's intervention too much. :)

In other words:

Someone fucks up, and all of Earth's living heroes are either wished out of existence or are whisked away to some far-off realm where Danny hasn't checked yet. In the attempt to figure out what's going on, Danny lets the dead run amok over the Earth as they search for clues. The skeleton army repels the invading armies, the souls of dead heroes deal with the world leaders, and his rogues and other Amity Parkers set up shop in place of famous heroes, trying to get the cities under control again.

Basically, they just do their best to keep everything from imploding until the Justice League and others are back.

(And why is it that Danny hasn't disappeared? Well, whatever caused everyone to go poof! only affected living heroes. Anyone heroes that were dead in the first place, or even just half-dead, stayed behind.)

i'm always out here talking about byan's trauma with men, but honestly they have almost as much when it comes to boys. most of the bullying, harassment, and mistreatment they received from their peers growing up came at the hands of boys. not all of it, of course, but considering that was the generalized group they were shoved into most of their life, and the one they didn't fit in with... it's where more of the damage came from.

honestly? i've been a big fan of frogs ever since i was little, fake peppino just appeals to my love of that + weird little guys

though i DID get extremely excited when i first went through his boss fight with a friend, and shouted during his jump attack "HE'S FROG"

and then War comes along and theres dozens of fake peppino clones running around ribbiting at you. i think that awoke something in my brain.

#frogs are just extremely wonderful creatures. one christmas i was literally gifted a book about frogs because they knew how much i liked em #perfectly shaped little guys. nature was so right when they were cooking up these creatures. #big mouth? check. big dopey eyes? check. little webbed feets? check. big stretchy jump legs? absolutely. #and TONGUE for eating delicious foods with because sometimes getting close to what you wanna eat is too much effort. #side note. fake's probably gonna show off a lot of Frog stuff coming up in my comic things. he deserves it though. he's a good boy. #i've gotten the first few panels drawn out so thats good progress right? god i hope so.

Insane that Blade during Todd's quest did basically the same thing Dan Heng was doing during this last video

#Fragments and scraps #I talk too much #I had just finished Todd's quest and I had so many questions and hypotheses and then the video dropped #And goodness it gave me even more things to ponder but I also think it kind of cleared things up when it came to what was Blade mourning #I also wondered whether this came after Kafka's companion mission but now I'm pretty sure it comes before it? I think it makes sense #Seeing confirmation of Yingxing being old looking was so hard to watch whilst compared to how young Jing Yuan sounds in Chinese #And when seeing him alongside Jingliu and Baiheng‚ who were both mature women when he was a little kid #No wonder he is so prideful of his craft. He deserves it. I really adore how they implemented a lot of details in the worldbuilding #and sidequests that throw light towards the characterisation and story of some of the main characters #Specifically I can't stop thinking about Yingxing in the context of how we see shortlife humans are regarded by some people on the Xianzhou #and especially in the context of the sidequest about the master and the apprentice. Everything it implies #Anyway... This video broke me. The confrontation between Dan Heng and Dan Feng was hard enough #(guy leave the boy alone‚ *he* has nothing to repent of) as well as beautiful. Some shots were gorgeous and full of symbolism #But seeing the five friends... goodness. Yingxing's bitter smile carries a weight that I think goes beyond him losing to Jingliu #given his age and how young his friends look. The way Jing Yuan reacts as if having the braincell but also teasing them was so him #The way his voice broke later on while reading Imbibitor Lunae's punishment took me out #Baiheng reminded me a bit of March 7th in this video. It may be due to how March reacts to Dan Heng's melancholic air towards the end #And how Baiheng reacts to Imbibitor Lunae's and Yingxing's at the beginning. I don't know if the parallelism was purposeful but I loved it #They all felt actually a lot closer than I expected. Mainly Jingliu. I expected her to be close only to Baiheng given what Jing Yuan says #The images that flash over the sentence were so good and so heartbreaking #Yingxing looking at the figure over the moon‚ his chest being pierced by the sword Blade now wields‚ #Jingliu blindfolded slicing something‚ someone suspended in chains‚... #And the heavy absence in those images of Jing Yuan‚ whose breaking voice hovers over them all #Truly brought back to mind Blade's line about him. How he knew better than anyone but he did or said nothing #And how he is not one of those who must pay #Everything was so charged I wanted to scream or jump off a cliff. The way the faces of Dan Heng and Dan Feng superimpose ugh #Truly everything was so good #I have so many thoughts about it I can't stop thinking hahaha #But I better shut up already. #uh oh! pjo tv series opinions incominf #ive only seen up to ep 4 so far #but its interesting! theyre making a lot of character choices that i really love #grover underwood <3 my boy #his frienship w percy feels solid and real #annabeth!!! oml. and her devotion to athena and the way that relationship becomes more and more complicated as time goes on! chefs kiss #my only thing is that #and maybe this is bc ive read the books and i generally know the story #but its sort of boring???????? not like its bad necessarily or poorly done exactllyyyy #but theres a lot of scenes of them just sort of straight up explaining whats happening or the plot or how the gods feel #which to be fair. that also happens in the book and is kind of exactly how percy learns all the shit #so it feels a little tell > show atm #but its also a lot of worldbuilding info to get thru and possibly introduce the basics of greek mythology to new people #so obviously thats a lot #i wonder if ill feel the same after this first season finishes and if they will allow for more #time to focus on the encounters the kids have #cause i know who is coming up soon and im excited to see that #and i thought they did the medusa arc so well like oof wow!

#also really hope louis’ team has something up their sleeves to get fan excitement up for the release week because boy is this weak and they #really should do better to ramp it up #post tiktoks with tiny snippets of the songs and having the fans guess what song it is for example #or something to boost fan engagement because ive been through many impending album releases in this fandom and this is not it #the excitement is quite mild #they did a big push for bigger than me and a lot of it seemed to me to be for promo rather than for the single #there was scarcely anything new for out of my system in the sense that the questions are still the same as they were for btm #they are circulating the same old and it’s not interesting for many people to watch and then they manage to sneak in babygate always and in #quite ridiculous senses like him listening the album first and stuff and while i still think there’s a reason for this (and i’ve spoken #about what i think may be happening with that and with the reasons for it before so i’ll not repeat myself) #but it just alienates more and more people and with the promo being repetitive there’s nothing much to outweight it for many people #and unfortunately since louis himself is saying he does not care for charts the fans are not very motivated to stream and do listening #parties as they used to be when getting to number 1 was encouraged and by the boys and desirable #plus imho they messed up the tour announcement and sale which shouldve come after the album comes out because people will know what they’re #buying tickets for #but anyway i wonder whether there’s something up still with sabotage of louis and radios not playing him and stuff #because despite the emphasis on him being free and in control there are so many old patterns recurring that it’s incongruent #im really excited for the album and the music and the direction louis is going to take artistically and creatively #but some things about his promo still seem very off #especially knowing what an astute businessman he is and just how deep an understanding he has #of his fanbase as well as the GP and marketing #also i really do think it’s purposeful they’re building on chicago and danielle associations and ramping up babygate and that E is out #for good

if you are a trans boy, especially a teenage trans boy, i wanted to say that as a trans man in their 30's, you have my deepest respects and condolences for what you may be going through right now.

it has become socially acceptable and basically online custom to bully teenage trans boys & mascs, call them cringy, or excuse misgendering them for whatever reason. people put trans boys on this pedestal of "must perform masculinity and manhood to cartoonish degrees" even though they're still children.

people make trans boys fight for their manhood before they can even be boys. i am sorry people can be so judgmental and harsh on you. you are not wrong for wanting to be a boy. you are experiencing something wonderful. it's okay if you still want to be a boy even if people have treated you poorly, or tried to make you feel bad for being a boy. there is nothing wrong with being a boy.

it's okay if you never socially transition. it's okay if you're afraid to come out because it's not safe. it's okay if you never change your outward appearance. it's okay if you try very hard to pass but struggle to. it's okay if you wear "women's" clothing and shoes, bras, makeup, etc., it's okay if you're gay and love other men. it's okay if you're scared of hrt. it's okay if you don't want surgery. it's okay if you mainly occupy girl's spaces still. people will find every reason to pick these things apart and ridicule trans boys for, but they are all perfectly fine experiences that do not make you any less of a boy. you are the one who is in control of your transition, presentation, and state of being- you should be able to prioritize your safety over the comfort of random strangers who have no impact over how you live your life.

i've been put through this too, but later in life as i came out when i was an adult. people still try to make me feel bad for identifying as a trans man, for whatever reason they have in their head to justify hatred of a trans person. i've had enough. there will never be an excuse for how people try to excuse the infantilization and abuse that trans men and trans boys face.

take care of yourselves, no matter what age you are, if you are a trans boy, man, or masc you deserve to know that other trans men care about you, especially when people are scrambling to find ways to punch down on you. there are people who suck, but there are also a lot of people who care about you. keep your chin up. you know who you are
