Why is the Question
A.N: Illusions to Malleus Dorm Uniform card, so if you haven't read that vignette, this story may not make sense. I loved that vignette; this is my TWST OC Mia with Malleus after the fact.
Twisted Wonderland Masterlist
—————————————————-
There was no other word for it.
Malleus was pouting as far as Mia was concerned. He barely said two words since the Gargoyle Research Society meeting started. Which didn’t bother her any, as sometimes they would sit in companionable silence and observe the gargoyles together. At Ramshackle dorm, tea would often accompany them.
There was no tea today.
But the key word was companionable silence.
This wasn’t companionable, as Malleus’ brain was obviously not on the beauty of the Ramshackle gargoyles this evening.
It wasn’t hard to figure out why Malleus’ attention was elsewhere.
By now, all of Night Raven College knew about the stunt that the Diasomnia Housewarden had pulled during the previous Housewarden meeting. How could they not when most of the Dorm Leaders had returned to their dorms in a rage?
Mia simply continued to sketch in her sketchbook. She had already asked if he was alright, and he reassured her before returning inward. She thought, perhaps, he found it a private matter to deal with.
That’s fine, he knew where to find her.
Eventually, Malleus heaved a sigh and murmured, “No matter how many times I try to go over it in my mind, I simply cannot understand what went wrong.”
Mia decided to take this cue since he voiced it outloud and spoke lightly, “Oh, anything I can help with?”
Malleus blinked and started. Slowly he turned and looked at her as if seeing her for the first time.
Mia continued her sketching.
“Ah, Child of Man!! Yes, you are a child of man. Perhaps you would assist me in a matter?”
Mia only chuckled, “You don’t have to be so formal, what’s up?”
Malleus started, “Well, you see, it’s like this….”
Ten minutes later, after Malleus explained the event in great detail, including everyone’s reaction, he was stunned to see a twitch of Mia’s lips. Much like Lilia, she could no longer hold it back and burst out laughing, slamming her sketchbook close.
Malleus felt a flash of annoyance at this.
Exactly what was so funny about this?! Was he being made a fool of?
Mia waved her hand, “I’m sorry! I promise, I’m not laughing at you but hearing a 1st hand account of the event, I mean…”
“Yes, yes. Very amusing, child of man.”
Mia managed to contain her mirth, although her eyes still danced. Perhaps it was wise to settle down a little. She could tell that Malleus was beginning to lose his patience the longer he looked at her. She did not want an angry fae on her hands.
“Malleus, I….” pause.
“....”
“.....”
Sigh. “There is so much to unpack, I can’t do it in the next five minutes.”
“I have the time.”
“Yeah, not right now. Listen, let me think about this a little more. This is gonna require a Powerpoint presentation with graphs and everything.”
Malleus blinked, “Does it really warrant that?” Just how big was this matter that he couldn’t seem to get a grasp of?
Mia giggled, “Oh, yeah…..”
“Then can you, at least, explain why do you keep laughing? What exactly is so humorous?”
Mia took pity on Malleus who looked so earnest, “Personally, I find it quite charming.”
Malleus’ eyebrow shot up, “Charming?”
“It’s charming and sad at the same time. I have to say, you get an A+ for effort. Using what knowledge you had, you came up with some kind of solution. Didn’t work, but you took some initiative. That should be applauded.”
Malleus pouted, “Would that others saw it that way….”
“Ah, well, I do have an edge over them.” Mia shrugged.
Malleus looked at Mia and raised an eyebrow when she didn’t elaborate any further.
Mia glanced away once, “Well, I’d like to think I know you a shade bit better than the others. I know that it came from a good place in your heart, and you didn’t mean to hurt, insult or scare them.  Just you and the other’s wires got crossed. However, if I didn’t know you as much as I do, I would probably be insulted as well. ”
Malleus heaved a sigh, “You as well? This is troubling indeed. This has made me even more aware of the differences between fae and human, but I do want to make some kind of effort. I’m just not sure where to go from here.”
“Well, for starters, you need to go to the next meeting.”
Malleus folded his arms, “I cannot if I’m not invited.”
Mia growled, “You got an invitation the moment you became dorm leader. Even if they are angry, no one will find you rude if you show up. You have just as much right as a dorm leader to be there as them. They don’t like it, their problem. That’s #1. And #2 when you get there the first thing you should do is apologize.”
Malleus whipped his head towards Mia, with wide eyes.
Before he could protest, Mia spoke up, “It’s really to just smooth things over. I know you feel you don’t have anything to apologize for, and you don’t understand, but that doesn’t matter. They felt insulted, therefore you are apologizing for insulting them even amidst your good intentions. And Malleus, don’t be condescending about it. That will only make them angrier.”
Malleus heaved another sigh, “It seems human etiquette is so intricate. I fear I am bound to mess this up, no matter what I say or attempt to do.”
“Don’t worry about it! We can practice if you like.”
Malleus smiled at her, “I’d be much obliged.”
“.....After I try to make sense of this faux paux you have committed….”
Although Mia was shaking her head at him, Malleus could still see the mirth in her eyes. Perhaps if this child of man didn't think he was that much of a lost cause, perhaps he could see this through.
“I will look forward to your teaching then.”
Two days later, Mia had invited Malleus into Ramshackle Dorm. Malleus was surprised to see a huge paper sitting on an easel. True, to her word, Mia tried her hardest to explain why everyone was angry.  Although Malleus didn’t quite get it, he learned that understanding that he offended was much more valuable than the why.
In fact, Mia quickly shut down his constant question of why.
“Just as fae has things that are a fact for them, so too, do humans. You don’t have to understand why, you just need to learn and memorize a loose script and accept it as fact. The way you understand is to learn and accept the boundaries. And if you don’t know, ask someone. Between Lilia, Sebek and Silver surely you can get some kind of answer. If not, come ask me. And if I don’t know, ask one of the teachers or Headmage. I’m sure between all of that, we can find some kind of actionable answer.”
It seemed he had a long way to go, but perhaps if he could start by learning from this child of man, who seemed willing to take time out of her day to teach him.
Ah, he would have to properly show her his gratitude for this evening.

Tom Blyth x Actress!Reader
TBOSAS Vogue Interviews — Rachel + Tom
(next part will be you and Josh’s interview)
Tumblr media
no descriptors other than reader being shorter than tom but i use she / her. click [HERE] for the table of contents for all things tom x actress!reader
for the interviews, rachel and tom are still paired up since they’re the leads, and you’re with josh. sorry hunter hshxhsdi. also in this tbosas has been out for a month so the cast is allowed to talk specific scenes and give “spoilers”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first bit of the video shows short clips of some answers, but no context as to what the questions are.
“Oh that’s an easy one, my girlfriend,” Tom can’t help but smile.
Rachel playfully slaps him with the card. “I was going to say her!”
~
“Pepper jack,” Rachel shrugs.
“Maybe… maybe a sharp cheddar?” Tom laughs.
~
Tom sighs, “that was quite a hard scene to film. After each take I’d ask if she was alright at least a couple of times.”
“Honestly the games as a whole, because I missed a lot of the stunt training.”
~
THE INTERVIEW —
“Hi Vogue, I’m Rachel Zegler.”
“And I’m Tom Blyth. Today we’re here to ask each other some questions, rapid fire.”
Rachel shuffles the interview cards around. “Okay first question, what would you say was the most difficult scene to film and why? Ooh I have my answer already.”
“You go first, I’m still thinking,” Tom laughs.
“Well for me, the most difficult scenes physically were honestly… the games as a whole. I missed a lot of the stunt training so to have one of my first scenes be me running like crazy screaming for Jessup, it was pretty intense.”
Tom blushes a little. “Sort of piggy backing off of Rachel’s answer, the hardest physically I’d definitely say my scene with Josh when we’re running out of the arena. The first few takes were stopped fairly quickly because either he or I would trip. But the most difficult emotionally, the scene in the cabin with Coriolanus and Nova May.”
“Aww,” Rachel puts her hand over her heart. “That’s was so cool to watch you both but yeah I can for sure see why it would be difficult. Did you guys rehearse it a lot?”
Tom shakes his head. “Not at all actually. We ran through the lines a few times but as far as acting out the whole scene, not until we were on set and they wanted a run through. And thankfully after the third take they were satisfied. That was quite a hard scene to film. After each take I’d ask if she was alright at least a couple of times.”
Off camera, someone asks “how long have you guys been together?”
“Pretty much since we met,” Tom tries, and fails to hide his smile. “So she and Josh were actually cast on the same day in June of 2022. At that point Rachel and I had already been cast, and the 4 of us, it just so happened that we were all in London for one thing or another and we all went out to dinner that night. Knew I fancied her right away, and I wanna say it wasn’t even a couple of weeks later that I asked her to be my girlfriend. Sorry I know I went off topic. To answer your actual question, almost a year and a half.”
Tom and Rachel chat for a couple of minutes as cameras are moved around to capture different angles.
“Next question, something a lot more lighthearted. If you were a cheese, what—”
“Pepper jack,” Rachel shrugs, not elaborating.
Tom bursts out laughing. “You had that answer ready awfully quick.”
“What can I say, I’m a cheese girly.”
“I guess that’s my go. Pepper jack is a good answer by the way. I’ll go cheddar. Maybe… maybe a sharp cheddar?”
Rachel taps her chin as if considering what Tom just said. “Yeah, I could see sharp cheddar. Okay guys sorry they’re motioning behind cameras that we have to speed it up. This is rapid fire and we’ve only answered two questions, sorry!”
“Sorry guys! Okay okay next question. Who is your favorite person to run lines with? Oh that’s an easy one, my girlfriend.”
“I was gonna say her!” Rachel faces the camera. “You guys, she’s seriously the best person for that. She memorizes lines sooo fast. By the end she won’t need a script to help you and she’ll be able to still correct you if you mess up!”
“What — oh wait I’ve already asked that question,” Tom flips through the cards, “okay here we go. If you could play any other character in the film, who would you play?”
Rachel claps and points at Tom. “We were just talking about this! I’d either want to play your character because I think it would be so fun to kind of switch to the villain. Or Nova May because hello she’s a badass.”
“Do you know what, and I swear I’m not making this up, my answers are the same as yours. either Nova May because I feel like she’s the opposite of Coriolanus in a way. Or Lucy Gray because I love that even after the games, she’s stayed true to who she is and she doesn’t let Coriolanus corrupt her.”
Rachel and Tom chat again as cameras and lights are moved around. They each do 2 questions.
“Okay we’ve each got one more question. Ooh this one’s fun! You’re stuck on a deserted island for a month and can have five things with you, what do you bring? And it says people don’t count,” Rachel thinks for a moment, “you go first because I need to give this some real thought.”
“No people, okay let’s see… my phone, one of those solar power generators so I could plug things in, phone charger, a book, and mini fridge. I’m sure I could cook some things up and be able to save them for later.”
Rachel nods in approval. “I am going to copy your first three things because I think I’d go crazy not being able to at least write out my thoughts in my notes app or something, or record what’s happening on my camera. But for my last two things, a guitar now that I can play, and… oh crap this is harder than I thought. And… a surfboard! If you’re stuck on an island that’s the perfect time to pick up a new hobby.”
“I think we’re finally getting the hang of this, of course right at the end. Oh I have the last question that’s right. Let’s see… what three characters from other shows or films do you think would do well in the Hunger Games?”
“I love that question!” Rachel nearly falls out of her chair. “Definitely someone from Game of Thrones — ooh or House of the Dragon! You know what, Juliette would do really good. A bow and arrow can take you really far in the games and that’s her go-to weapon.”
Tom smiles and blushes once again at the mention of his girlfriend, or at least the character she plays.
Rachel thinks about her last two answers. “Joel Miller from The Last of Us, and Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds.”
“Why Spencer?”
“He’s a literal genius. I bet he’d be able to rig a bunch of traps that no one would suspect and he’d be able to eliminate most of the other tributes without any physical contact.”
“Ahh I didn’t think of that. Hmm also from House of the Dragon, Aemond Targaryen. He’s quite ruthless isn’t he, he’d have no problem getting rid of the other tributes. And also Clint Barton, like you said because a bow and arrow is a really good weapon to have. Also… Uhtred Ragnarsson from The Last Kingdom.”
Someone behind the camera says it’s time to wrap it up.
Tom smiles at the camera, “thank you so much for having us.”
“We hope you enjoyed watching, bye!”

Thank you for the invitation. Though it was signed by Coryo, I imagine that you are the one who advocated for my presence at tonight’s opera. I appreciate that you hold our friendship in such high regard. That is why I write to you now. Ma has already confirmed our attendance for tonight, but I was hoping that I might be able to speak to you in private. During intermission, please meet me—
A knock at your door startled you out of your thoughts.
“Are you nearly ready?” your father asked from the other side of your door.
“Just a moment more!” you called out, hurrying to return the letter to its envelope. You rose from your seat at the vanity, sparing a glance at your reflection to ensure nothing was out of place, before tucking the letter in your trunk at the end of your bed.
When you reached your door, you took a breath. Your father was a perceptive man. If he saw your nerves were jumbled, he would have questions and you could not handle questions at this moment.
Your father smiled as you opened the door. Then he frowned, glancing around the room behind you. “Where is your lady’s maid?”
“I dismissed her after I finished getting ready. I wanted some time to go through my correspondence.” It was perhaps best to tell the truth in that regard. What your father didn’t need to know what that you were just reading the one letter, over and over and over again, trying to surmise if it was real, if there was a trick being played against you.
“I should hope you were not writing any replies. The last thing you need is to get ink everywhere.”
“No, Papa, I was only reading them and sorting out which ones needed to be replied to first.” Well, that was a lie. But it was harmless enough. You hoped.
When you received Sejanus’s letter in the mail, it confused you. You were never the sort of friends that wrote to each other. It certainly would have been presumptuous if you had. But when you read the contents of the letter, learned of his proposed plan, it only served to confuse you further. You had spent the entire day reading the letter as your lady’s maid pinned your hair into an elaborate updo, applied your makeup, and even as you dressed. You were half sure that if you read it enough times, Sejanus himself might materialize to tell you it was all just a clever joke. That he didn’t really mean it. You knew Sejanus well enough, though, to know that he was quite serious about these sorts of things.
Your father nodded, then extended his arm for you to take. You slipped your hand around his arm and allowed him to guide you downstairs. He was silent for a moment while you walked, but when he reached the top of the stairs, he stopped.
“Is there something wrong?” you asked. Had he already caught on to your ruse? Would he demand to see the letters and know that there was only one? Would he tell Snow?
“I wanted to thank you for your cooperation,” he said. “I know this match was not what you hoped it to be, but I swore when you were born that I would do everything in my power to ensure that you are taken care of for life. You may not have gotten the love match you wished for, but you will be marrying into a reputable family with the resources available to provide you the best life imaginable. His Majesty will take care of you. He will be a good husband to you.”
“You cannot possibly know that.”
He sniffed, then conceded, “No, I suppose I don’t. But His Majesty was incredibly persistent. He had been asking for your hand for some time—”
“What?”
He blinked, as if he was surprised you didn’t know. But how could you? How could you have known? “When you graduated from the Academy, he asked for your hand. I suppose he hoped for you to join him on base while he served as a Peacekeeper. That certainly wouldn’t have been an appropriate life for you, so I told him no. Then when he returned, he asked again. I told him I wished to see him prove himself to be a worthy husband for you. I never imagined that he would become King, of course, but it was a pleasant surprise. A welcome one, really, all things considered. Just before the season began this year, he asked again. I had no reason to tell him no, except that I wished for him to properly court you before we reached any firm agreement.”
You did the math in your head. If what your father said was true… “I’m four and twenty. If he has been asking since I graduated, then he has wanted to marry me for five years.”
“Longer, I presume. He already had a ring when he asked for your hand the first time.” He looked down at your hand. “The same one, if memory serves well. Cleaner, though.”
That…You didn’t know what to do with that. How long had Snow been vying for your attention? Even with Sejanus’s revelation that Snow’s feelings for you had been genuine, you assumed it was a recent development. Certainly not something that extended back to your schooldays. Had the bickering always been one-sided? No, that couldn’t be…
“We hated each other in school. We tormented each other,” you said, more to yourself than your father.
But he laughed as if you spoke to him. “Sometimes, boys are mean to the girls they are interested in. Any attention is better than no attention, in their eyes.”
“I don’t know what to do with this,” you admitted.
“Know that you will be loved. I have never seen any man be so dedicated to something, someone, for it not to be done out of love.”
Downstairs, the butler announced Snow’s arrival. Snow entered the room, his blue eyes immediately finding yours. Your father moved to start down the stairs, but you remained planted firmly in place. A question nagged at your mind. If Snow had been asking for your hand for five years…
“Why did you act like I had to convince Snow to marry me when the season started? If you all but promised him my hand?”
His eyebrows raised. “My little dove, you have never done what you were told. If I said that you were to be wed to His Majesty, you would have all but runaway to avoid it.”
“But why act like it was my responsibility to get his attention? To throw myself at his feet when he already wanted to marry me?”
He was silent for a moment, contemplating his words. Finally, he settled on, “If you thought that you were serving your family by pursuing His Majesty, I had hoped that you would have seen his intentions were pure and good. It might not have been a love match in the traditional sense, but it would not have been a loveless arrangement.”
Nothing, you thought, about Snow was pure and good. “My fate was already set in stone. It didn’t matter what I did, you would have married me off regardless.”
“Don’t put it like that, little dove—”
You dropped your father’s arm, gathered your skirts, and walked down the stairs alone as Snow moved to wait for you at the bottom. A smile grew on his face as he watched you. It looked so genuine. You supposed it was.
Snow held his arm out to you as you reached the last few steps. You slipped your hand into his, letting him guide you down the final steps, before holding onto his bicep when you reached the ground floor.
“I like that color on you,” he said, eyeing the blue fabric.
“You should. It took Tigris hours to find the shade closest to your eyes.” Your mother was insistent that, as the future Queen, you should build your wardrobe to complement your future husband as much as possible.
“I shall send her my compliments then. Are you ready to leave?”
You nodded.
“Good. We shall be riding alone this evening. Will that be alright?”
It wouldn’t have mattered if it did. Everyone else in your life was making decisions for you. Choosing what was best for you without ever asking what you wanted. What you desired. But you were angry at your father. Angry at both of your parents, because you were sure your mother knew something about this, too. Angry that they both would keep this from you instead of just telling you that you were to marry the King. You might have respected their decision more if they had.
“I should kill my parents if I have to spend a moment with them tonight.”
Snow blinked. “Should I be concerned?”
“If you value your life, then you shouldn’t be.”
At that, Snow let out a huff of a laugh. “To kill the King would be treason.”
“Is a threat worth the same weight?”
“I would imagine so.”
“Then string me up at the gallows.”
He shook his head at you. He looked amused, like he didn’t take your words seriously. He probably thought you were just bickering to get on his nerves like you always did. “I would make an exception for you, petal.”
You turned your head, looking back up at your father, who still stood at the top of the stairs, dumbfounded. You turned back to Snow. “I wouldn’t kill you, for what it’s worth. As it turns out, you are the only person who has been honest with me recently.”
A frown settled on Snow’s face. “Is everything alright?”
You rolled your tongue over your teeth, contemplating whether you should tell him or not. It would be nice to vent, even to someone like Snow. But you didn’t wish to do it in front of your father, the source of your ire. And you weren’t sure you wouldn’t cry if you did talk about it. “I don’t wish to ruin my evening any further. Shall we go?”
Snow looked you over. Seeing nothing that would demand his immediate concern, he said, “We shall. But if you change your mind…”
“I will tell you if I do.”
The ride to the opera house was quiet. You weren’t sure if Snow was silent because he was giving you the space you asked for, or if he was concerned that your ire might soon turn on him. But he held your hand the entire time, his thumb stroking over your knuckles. Ordinarily, you would have been annoyed at the action. It was merely another way for Snow to exert a level of control over you. This time, however, it brought you some modicum of comfort.
“I invited the Plinths per your request,” he murmured.
That should have lifted your spirts, but it only made your stomach churn. You couldn’t let Snow know that, of course. As hard as you fought for the Plinths’ presence, he would be less than pleased if you revealed you wished he hadn’t extended the invitation. “Thank you.” You squeezed his hand, more for your comfort than his own. “I appreciate that.”
Even if you didn’t appreciate it in the moment, you probably would appreciate his willingness to abide by your wishes in the future (though, you supposed you did have to coerce him to do it).
Snow smiled and squeezed your hand back. “And I appreciate your vivaciousness. Even if it makes me want to pull my hair out.”
“That would be a shame,” you said before you could really think.
“What?”
Well, you already got this far. You might as well finish the thought. “The nicest part about you is your hair. If you pulled it all out, you wouldn’t have anything going for you.”
Snow laughed—a genuine laugh. “If my hair is the key to gaining your affections, then I shall be sure to not pull it out.”
You laughed, too. It was…odd. How light you felt with Snow now. Though you still objected to how he asked for your hand, how your father gave you no choice in this matter, it was different knowing that Snow might not be doing all of this as some way to spite you. To get back at you for all the fights you had with him over the years.
The pit in your stomach burrowed deeper. If Snow found out about Sejanus’s letter, Sejanus’s plan, you could not imagine it ending well. Any semblance of goodwill he held for you could be ruined in a matter of minutes. Would you be set up for a miserable marriage if you withheld the information from him?
“Snow, I—”
The carriage lurched to a halt. Your words died in your throat as the door opened. Snow stepped out first, then held a hand out for you to take. He helped you out of the carriage, his hands settling on your waist as you gained your footing. Your breath caught in your throat at the feeling.
As you moved to take Snow’s arm, he asked, “Would you like to wait for your parents or would you like to go our seats?”
You glanced back, seeing your family carriage in the distance. The idea of seeing your father again made you grind your teeth together. “Let’s go inside.”
Snow led you to one of the Lord’s Rooms where you would sit in the upper balcony of the opera house. It had been some years since you had been able to sit in one of the Lord’s Rooms. Since your time at the Academy, you supposed. These seats were saved for the upper echelon of the Capital’s elite. While your parents certainly were wealthy and titled, they could not quite afford such expensive seats. Truthfully, for a long time after the war ended, only the King and some dukes could afford it. It was only in recent years that marquesses, earls, and viscounts could begin sitting there again.
You took a seat front and center of the Lord’s Room, Snow taking the seat to your left. A smile tugged at his face as you tried to not let your jaw fall slack.
“Are you pleased with the seats, petal?” he asked.
“It’s perfect,” you admitted, because it was.
When you looked over at him, his smile had grown, his chest ever so slightly puffed out. Oh, he was proud of himself for this. You supposed he should be. If he had been vying for your attention for as long as your father insinuated, you imagined there was no limit to the lengths Snow would go to make you happy.
“Good.”
You were curious, though, to the lengths that Snow would go. “What would you have done if I was displeased?”
“Erect an opera house to your exact specifications.”
You couldn’t help the laugh that escaped your lips. To suggest such a thing was absurd. You were an intelligent young woman to be sure, but you hardly had the education required to design an opera house that both functioned as necessary and would not topple over in a gust of wind. “Then we should be thankful I am content here or else we might have to test the limits to the royal family’s protection from liability.”
Snow waved that off, though he still smirked at you referring to yourself as part of the royal family. “I would send anyone who would even think to sue you to the gallows.”
“So protective,” you teased. There was silence, for a moment, as you looked at Snow. Conversation was flowing easily, with none of its usual bite. Perhaps talking about your conversation with your father would be nice. To at least alleviate the stress you carried in your shoulders. “I am upset with my papa because of you.”
And that, perhaps, was the worst way to begin the conversation when you saw the way Snow’s smile turned into a frown. Oh dear, he probably thought you were trying to pick a fight. “I beg your pardon?”
“What I mean to say is, at the beginning of the season, when it was announced you were seeking a bride, my papa told me that I had to do whatever it took to win you over, even sacrifice my ideals. He made it seem as if it was something I had to do for the family. I refused, of course, but that did nothing to stop you from seeking me out. I wondered why for a long while, spent a long time convinced it was because you were trying to get back at me for all our quibbles over the years. But then I remembered Sejanus had told me that you were interested in me when we were children.”
Snow’s jaw ticked at the mention of Sejanus, so you quickly continued before he could spit some vitriol about your shared friend (for now, at least).
“That made no sense to me at the time he told me, of course, but the longer we courted, it started to feel real. Then, this evening, my papa told me that you had asked for my hand three times before. That you fought with me because you liked my attention, not necessarily because you had substantial disagreement with me. And when I asked, he said he lied to me about my needing to sacrifice my ideals to win you over, because he knew that I was already going to be your bride by the end of the season. I cannot respect a man who withholds things from me.”
“I apologize if I disrespected you, but—”
“Not you, my papa. It is clear now that, as far as this season was concerned, you had always made your intentions known. I can admire that. But my papa…I don’t know if I can trust him again. Or my mama, because I am sure she knew something about it, too.”
Snow considered you for a moment, before admitting, “If I had known you were kept in the dark, I would have told you. I assumed you knew I had spoken with your father and that that was part of the reason you kept fighting me. Telling me that you would rather marry anyone else but me.”
“No, I was, for once, clueless.”
He reached over for your hand. You allowed him to take it. “Well, you can rest assured that I will not let you be clueless as long as I can help it. We are to be partners in this marriage. There is no one that I could trust more to run this kingdom and raise our family than you.”
Your stomach twisted. All of this talk of honesty…It made you feel ill. You knew you should tell Snow about Sejanus’s letter. If he ever found out, any trust he had in you would easily be broken. You imagined he would lock you away in the palace, never let you see anyone but the staff and the heirs he would have you produce. And Sejanus…You shuddered at the idea of what Snow would do to him. It would make isolation look kind, you were sure.
Knowing you had no other choice, you tried again to tell him. “Snow, I wish to tell you one more thing—”
You were cut off by the sound of Sejanus greeting you and Snow. You prayed you did not look as ill as you felt.
“You look radiant this evening,” Sejanus said to you as he came to your side. Oh, Sejanus, he should not say those sorts of things. Not in front of Snow. Not when you knew how he felt.
Snow rose to his feet, dropping your hand. It was the polite thing to do as a gentleman, but you knew it was more a power play than anything else. And, though Sejanus towered over Snow, something about the way Snow held himself made him seem like the giant. “She does, doesn’t she? It must be the pre-marital bliss.”
You ignored Snow. Well, if you couldn’t tell Snow about the letter now, you might as well make polite conversation until the next opportunity arose. “Thank you, my lord. You look quite dashing yourself. Did Tigris design your suit?”
“She did,” he beamed. Oh, Sejanus, don’t smile at you like that. “She is the only one I trust to not make me look like a fool.”
“Funny,” Snow muttered.
You looked at him, your brows furrowed together. Was he trying to suggest Sejanus was a fool? Did Snow know something you didn’t? Your heart skipped a beat. Did he somehow already know of the letter? “What is?”
Snow blinked, as if he hadn’t expected you to hear him. A smile twitched at his lips. “You had said something similar, once.”
“Ah. Well, she is the best. Many people feel quite strongly over her,” you said. You smoothed a wrinkle on your dress. All of the kind talk between you and Coryo made you feel uneasy now that Sejanus was here. “It must be infuriating to know people like Tigris while they tolerate you.”
“Don’t be cruel,” Sejanus chided as Snow’s jaw clenched and unclenched. Don’t join in on the teasing. It will only make things worse.
“But it’s so easy.”
Sejanus took the seat to your right. From the corner of your eye, you watched as Snow’s hands flexed, as if he was restraining himself from lashing out at Sejanus. Knowing that no one could see your face but Snow and Sejanus, you allowed yourself to roll your eyes. The corner of Sejanus’s mouth twitched up into a smirk. In any other circumstance, you might have been laughing with him at Snow’s expense. This all felt too confusing for you—something you would rather attempt to process in private rather than search your feelings in the moment. So you moved to the edge of your seat, propping your arm against the railing, leaning your cheek against your palm. Snow, as he sat back down, reached for your other hand, and you allowed him to take it. Jealous little thing, he was. But you couldn’t find it in yourself to mind.
The performance soon began with little more spoken between you, Snow, and Sejanus. Mostly talks about your upcoming nuptials, which made it feel like a knife was being twisted in your stomach. If you didn’t know better, you would have thought that Sejanus was trying to be cruel. Sejanus, though, was something of an angel, and you were sure he didn’t have a mean bone in his body. Perhaps that was why you were so nervous about this. You knew how Snow would read Sejanus’s actions. You knew it would be far from good.
You tried to push those thoughts away as the performers sang. It had been so long since you had been able to go to the opera, and you wanted to enjoy this moment. Snow would likely bring you to more performances, but just in case, you wanted to have fun while you could. Yet, Sejanus could not leave your mind. He felt entirely too close. It was almost suffocating. And when you dared to glance at him from the corner of your eye, and you saw the way his hand was placed on the arm of his chair, his palm face up, you felt ill.
So ill, you could not stand it.
When you dropped Snow’s hand, moving to leave the Lord’s Room, Snow rose to his feet. “Is everything alright, petal?”’
“I’m not feeling well. I just need to step outside for a moment,” you said.
Sejanus, too, stood. “What’s wrong?”
Oh, don’t do that. Don’t give Snow anymore reason to get upset or concerned.
You waved Sejanus off. “It’s too stuffy in here. I just need a moment.”
Snow watched you, his brows pinched together. You again wondered if he could read your mind, if he knew what you knew. Or perhaps he was acting as if he cared in his own weird way, trying to ascertain if he needed to go with you just in case this was something more serious. “If you wish to leave early, we can. I don’t want you to feel as if we must stay even if you are ill.”
Don’t be kind. You’re not sure you deserve it. “I don’t believe it’s that serious. Please, sit. I shall be back before you can even think to miss me.”
Somewhat reluctantly, Snow sat down. Sejanus remained standing, watching as you turned to leave. It was not until you left the Lord’s Room, sparing a glance over your shoulder, that you saw Sejanus sit down, too.
It was easier to breathe outside of the room. Not much by much, but certainly easier. Being sat between Snow and Sejanus, even if had been something of your own doing, had become something of a personal hell. Damn Sejanus. Damn him. This evening wasn’t supposed to be like this. You were supposed to have a nice evening at the opera. You were supposed to get on Snow’s nerves. You were supposed to laugh with Sejanus and not worry about his insane ideas. It was supposed to be nice, not…whatever it was about to become.
You found a somewhat secluded area of the foyer and leaned against the wall, trying to steady your heartbeat. You did not know if Snow or Sejanus or both would follow you. If they did, you worried about the other people who were invited eavesdropping on the conversation, realize that there was more than meets the eye regarding your betrothal to Snow. Oh, you would not be able to handle that scandal.
After a minute or two, the sound of the opera singer ringing in the background, you pushed yourself off the wall. It had been long enough that Snow would become concerned and come looking for you. And it was close enough to intermission that Sejanus—
“You look like you’ve seen death.”
You sucked in a breath. “You need to leave.”
Sejanus stepped closer to you. Too close. He reached out, brushing a loose curl away from your face. You fought the urge to flinch away. “We can go—”
You couldn’t help but laugh. “You cannot truly believe I would leave with you, can you? Sejanus, Snow is the King. He would do everything in his power, utilize every resource at his disposal, to find us and bring us straight to the Capital. You would lose your head, and I would never see daylight again.”
“That should not matter if we love each other. We could find somewhere no one could ever find us. We could live a life all of our own, never have to worry about anything else.”
“But I don’t love you.”
“Coryo told me that you would rather marry me. That you thought I am an easy man to love. Is that not enough?”
You squeezed your eyes shut. It was so hard to look at him and not cry. Why was he making this so difficult? Why was he putting you in this position? “I might have loved you. In a different life, maybe. But I do not feel what you feel for me. I will not risk my life and yours for a maybe.”
“But you will risk a life of unhappiness with Coryo?”
Why did no one listen to you?
Why did no one care to ask you what you wanted and actually listen?
“It is not as if Snow hates me. He cares, in his own way. Even if he shows it in his strange ways. I would want for nothing with him.”
“Can you love him?” Sejanus stepped even closer to you. He cupped your face in his hands. You squeezed your eyes tighter. “Tell me you will be happy with him, and I will leave you alone. I won’t bring this up ever again. I will leave—”
Sejanus was ripped away from you before he could finish speaking. Your eyes flew open. What was happening? Why—
Oh.
Oh no.
Snow’s face was blood red, his knuckles nearly matching as he gripped Sejanus’s jacket. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he spat.
“Coryo, I—”
“You said you didn’t wish to marry her. You said you wouldn’t try to take her from me. Was that a life? Were you trying to catch me with my guard down? What happened to not wanting to hurt me?”
“Please—”
You had never seen Snow so angry in all your life. Not even when you would spend every day at the Academy arguing with him. Not even when you had told him that you considered marrying Sejanus. Was Snow going to hurt Sejanus? He looked angry enough to kill. You couldn’t let that happen.
“Snow—” you tried to say, but he did not hear you.
“I should have the Peacekeepers drag you through the streets, throw you in a cell, and let you rot. I should have you executed,” Snow hissed. “This is treason.”
“Please, Snow—” you tried again.
You tried to think. Tried to figure out something, anything, to say that could quell Snow’s anger. But you couldn’t even get through to him. It’s like he didn’t even realize you were speaking to him. Oh, what could you say?
“I should make your execution a fucking spectacle. I should make everyone watch as you are hung—”
“Coryo, stop!”
Snow’s head snapped to you. His pale blue eyes looked you up and down, as if he was trying to determine if he should direct his ire to you. He let go of Sejanus’s jacket with a push. Ordinarily, it wouldn’t have made Sejanus stumble, but the sheer weight of everything brought the man tumbling down. Snow took a step towards you, his voice dangerously low as he asked, “Why should I?”
“I was telling him no. I don’t want to go with him,” you said, careful not to say Sejanus’s name. Saying his name in ordinary circumstances drove Snow insane. You hated to imagine what he might do if you did so now. He might just kill Sejanus with his bare hands. His hands. You glanced down, then reached for one of Snow’s hands. It was clenched into a fist, but he allowed you to open his hand, intertwine your fingers with his own. “I want to marry you, Coryo. I want to be your wife.”
Snow stared at your connected hands. He squeezed your hand. It looked like he couldn’t believe this was real. “He followed you out here. Were you planning to run away?”
You couldn’t lie to him. Not now. “He sent a letter this morning. He wanted to run away at intermission, when it was easy to disappear in a crowd. I…I tried to tell you, before he arrived this evening. I never intended to go with him.”
“He followed you.”
I didn’t ask him to, you wanted to say. But you knew that wouldn’t do anything to diminish Snow’s anger. Instead, you said, “I wish you followed me instead.”
When Snow looked at you, you could see his eyes softened ever so slightly. “I thought you might want some space.”
Though you did not wholly believe in what you were saying, you knew it was working to calm him down. “All I want is you, Coryo.”
For a second, a smile began to tug at Snow’s lips. But it vanished all too quick as he heard Sejanus begin to rise to his feet. “He needs to be punished.”
“Don’t have him killed.” When Snow’s eyes narrowed, you quickly added, “I don’t want the death of your friend, your best friend, to weigh heavily on your conscious. I-I know you’re upset now, rightfully so, but that should not mean you send him to the gallows.”
His jaw clenched and unclenched as he weighed your words. “Then what do you suggest I do? If we are to be partners in life, you shall have a say in carrying out punishments.”
Oh, he was being cruel. Perhaps rightfully so. Snow would not harm you physically, but he would not be so above hurting you emotionally. You had not told him about the letter, and in his eyes, you were sure that put you on a similar level of treason as Sejanus’s actions.
You fought the urge to look at Sejanus. “He shall enlist in the Peacekeepers,” you decided. “You can ensure he has an assignment far away from the Capital. Give him time to consider his betrayal.”
Snow said nothing. You worried he would dismiss your suggestion and call for the Peacekeepers anyways. That he would force you to watch as Sejanus was hung. You stepped closer, pressed a quick kiss to the corner of his mouth. “Please, Coryo?”
When you pulled away, Snow was blinking a mile a minute. You prayed that was enough to convince him, to show him that you were loyal to him. To spare Sejanus’s life.
“Go,” Snow spat at Sejanus.
Sejanus gave a shaky nod. He dared to look at you, his mouth beginning to open. Whatever he intended to say, though, was lost.
“If you are going to say anything, it should be to express your gratitude to her for sparing you from an execution.”
Sejanus swallowed. “Thank you.”
“If I learn that you have not enlisted by morning, however, I will follow through with stringing you up at the gallows.”
Sejanus nodded again and quickly left before more could be said. For his sake, you prayed he went straight to the enlistment offices. You weren’t sure if they were open at this time of night, but if he went now, he might be able to enlist first thing in the morning when they did open.
You let your head fall against Snow’s chest. His heart thump’d, thump’d, thump’d quickly. You wound your arms around his waist. “Thank you,” you whispered. And as he hugged you back, you added, “And I apologize for not telling you of his plans. I…I didn’t think he would be so foolish to try to follow through on them. Or, I suppose, I hoped he wouldn’t.”
“You truly wouldn’t have left with him?”
“I only want a life with you, Coryo. You…may not be an easy man to love, but that does not mean I cannot love you.” Maybe if you said it enough times, you mused, it would become true.
Snow pressed a kiss to the crown of your head. “I want to move up the wedding date.”
You shut your eyes. “You’ll work poor Tigris to the bone trying to finish my gown in time,” you tried to tease. Your heart wasn’t quite in it.
“You could show up at the altar in a dressing gown for all I care. I don’t want anyone else trying to steal you away before I can make you mine.”
If this was the sort of anger you would have to grapple with should anyone else try— “Nor do I.” You pressed a kiss to his chest, just over his heart. A print of your lipstick left behind a stain. “I truly am sorry, Coryo.”
Maybe if you called him by his pet name enough times, he would forget this ever happen.
“Don’t let it happen again.”
As you stood there in his tight embrace, people began spilling out into the foyer. Intermission, it seemed, had arrived. And not a single one of them were aware of events that just transpired.
How lucky they were.

            I love ragging on Belos but also DAMN he’s fiendishly clever. Like let’s analyze his ‘reunion’ with the Collector;
Tumblr media
Gets caught, Collector is suspicious and scared? Belos immediately calms him down by making the Collector feel in control over his own spell he openly doubted, pointing to the moon symbol on Raine’s forehead; Telling this kid not to worry about his most immediate question! And then Belos justifies the anomaly by playing along with the wishful fantasy rules of a kid who believes in the magic of friendship! Anything can happen, so no need to question any further, he flatters the child.
Tumblr media
Then there’s his next line, in which Belos warns the Collector that he’s in danger, which is incredibly vague and could mean anything; And in the couple of seconds it takes the Collector to react in derision, Belos figures out he needs to be more specific and how to elaborate on this, claiming someone is going to betray the Collector.
Note that he never name-drops anyone on his own, because Belos doesn’t really know who’s around the Collector, other than Odalia. But just in case, he keeps it vague so the Collector can provide an answer for him, the first person he’d assume, and thus the one whose betrayal he fears the most: King!
Tumblr media
Belos latches onto that. He sees King isn’t here, so he asks where is he? Note he doesn’t give an answer, doesn’t make any claims because he doesn’t KNOW anything. Belos is trying to avoid saying something that can be contradicted later on, so he keeps it vague by throwing a very simple, ‘safe’ question that nevertheless makes the kid doubt.
The Collector watches, is reassured, looks back to Belos to brag! Then he checks again, sees what King said, and looks away. The kid is concerned, but he’s not jumping to any conclusions, and you may think, oh! This is where he checks again, just to be sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’s when Belos drops the bombshell; Luz is here. And as he so cleverly plans, this revelation shocks the Collector, distracting them from checking on King again to hear what he ACTUALLY meant. Because Belos doesn’t know for sure how genuine King is or not, but either way, the less this kid is actually in touch with the outside world, the easier it is for Belos to control the narrative and filter all information through himself. The kid has seen enough to doubt, no need for him to find out more and potentially clarify.
Likewise, Belos has been manipulating this kid for hundreds of years; Like it or not, the Collector is the longest relationship he’s ever had in his life, by a long shot. He knows the kid’s psychology in and out, he knows exactly which buttons to press, and he guesses at how jealous the Collector can get. If he’s friends with King and holds him in high regard, then King has probably told him about Luz during the time they’ve been hanging out.
Tumblr media
And that Collector is an insecure kid… So Belos creates an Us VS Them scenario, plays into the Collector’s worst fears of King replacing him for Luz (gee, it’s like Philip speaks these insecurities from experience). The fact that Belos himself contributed deeply to the Collector’s trust issues, and is now using them is just. Ugh.
Tumblr media
Now Luz is something Belos DOES know about, having inhabited Hunter, knowing she followed right behind him and does plan to change things, and herself doesn’t know any more than he does; If anything, she knows less! So Belos is a lot more free to make claims about Luz’s motives and goals here, because he actually knows them for the most part. Luz is something Belos can guarantee and thus reliably interpret for the Collector to support his claim.
That creates an unpredictable element that unsettles the kid, pair that up with the ambiguity of what King said (never checked back on, due to Belos diverting the Collector’s attention) and you’ve got the perfect recipe to manipulate this child all over again… An empty sandbox the Collector can’t verify from which Belos can craft a new narrative with, and anytime something comes along that can be interpreted in its favor, like the ending of the episode? You betcha.
Tumblr media
God he’s so smart, so confident that you might not even notice at first how baseless Belos’ claims are. You’d understandably think he actually DID somehow know, and wasn’t just adapting and having good luck in guessing! Imagine society if Belos weaponized his autism for actual good.

Right? p4
summary: Y/N is a photographer for McLaren F1 team. Hard working, goal oriented professional who would never put her career in jeopardy for some stupid crush, right?
That is until a photoshoot gets out of hand and there is no way to go but forward.
part 1, part 2, part 3
warning: 18+ i guess?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was a bit tricky to find a safe moment of solitude for the two of you to have your promised photoshoot. But in two days, your plans might finally become true.
What seemed easier, surprisingly, was finding little moments for quick make out sessions. In the driver's room, in the PR office, in that little hallway just next the mechanics gear storage.
You were a bit more careful outside the garage, but could not help one little kiss between the trailers.
It wasn't like Lando was shy at the beginning, but the more you got into the, the cheekier he became. He was so touchy. Grabbing your boobs and ass during make outs, brushing your hand when he walked by you and getting a little too close when discussing his photos.
You must have missed it before, or the frequency of him putting his hand on your shoulders has skyrocketed in the past few days.
You loved how you got to know him more. Learning the secret tricks that worked on your little, minor, definitely not massive, crush.
Zak Brown has requested a general meeting of the whole crew once you all landed in the next location. A tiny part of you suddenly got worried it might concern your little endeavor. Keeping this under the radar was of utmost importance, no matter what Lando said. You hoped you could trust him and his confidentiality. It felt strange to depend on that, but the adrenaline rush was hard to resist. The meeting turned out to be the introduction of a new sponsor and the obligation that this entailed. You had never been more happier for a new sponsor.
-"I might have one request for our photoshoot," was a text from Lando that popped up on your laptop screen. He was sitting on the other side of the room, at the front with all the important folks, while you were in the back right next to your other colleagues making notes. You looked at Lando, who was already watching you. Once your eyes met, he turned to his phone again. Having a feeling this might be one of his inappropriate games, you quickly disabled all notifications on your laptop. Instead you took your phone out, hoping no one was paying any attention to you.
-"Can you move just little to your left?" he continued. You gave him a questioning look and did as he asked.
-"Great, thanks sweetheart."
-"May I ask why, Lando?"
-"It's very closely connected to my request."
"Which would be....?"
"Be as kind to me as you are today" Again, you reacted with another questioning look. Lando took a moment to reply to a question from Zak and only after that quickly took his phone again to elaborate.
"Tight t-shirt with no bra is the peak of kindness in my opinion. Remember this next time I'm sad, I'm sure it'll help."
There is a certain kind of mad, that's not really angry or serious even, but still manages to rile up the blood in ones veins. Lando noticed your disbelief and tried to hide his amusement by pretending to be super interested in what Zak has been saying. For his own sake, he should stick with a driver's career, rather than acting.
In the meantime, to cut his fun short, you gracefully took out your sweater and put it on.
5 seconds later you received a ":(" text from the one and only.
"Sad already, Lando? I recall some cure for that. But probably for a closer inspection."
Lando was biting his cheek while reading it, only to be lightly reminded by Oscar of all people, that Lando's full attention is required to other things than his phone.
You were also pretending to be super interested in the presentation, but in the corner of your eye, you felt the rookie McLaren driver pointing his attention in your direction.
Probably nothing, right?
//
The change in your mood has been noted by those closest to you. All of a sudden, you were like a lit up candle, shining around every room you walked in. This did not play well with your need to stay as lowkey as possible. Oh and you were dyinggg to speak about this with someone to help you process what the fuck was actually happening. But it was all just pretty delicate. Mentally, you'd settled on the idea that once this is over, it will be a cool and unbelievable story for you and your friends. You did not usually fall for people, but when you did, you fell hard. You were currently overrun by adrenaline and dopamine to make much of a room for any of this to worry you.
Lando seemed to be followed by someone from the team all throughout the week. He was very vocal to you over texts about his impatience and that you both would need to be creative. Lando also wanted to catch the golden hour for your photoshoot. Wanted was an understatement, he was obsessed with it.
So when is the best time to avoid everyone? When they're busy getting ready for a new sponsor welcoming party. It was easy for your to get out of it, it was impossible for Lando to skip it completely - but arriving fashionably late was something he could very much afford. Which gave you an hour or two to have fun.
When the taxi dropped you off over at a location he sent you, he was already there. You agreed that at the moment, him picking you up would be risky. His car here on a random hill near Monte Carlo was suspicious enough. Then again, normal cars seemed to avoid Monaco.
He was leaning over centuries old abandoned wall on a make shift parking spot next to a forest, light shining directly into his face. You were not sure whether he was trying or if it just really came naturally, but when took his sunglasses off to look at you properly, he looked like he was put on this Earth to break hearts, to capture and allure anyone he decided.
So, into the lion's den you went. Nowhere you'd like to be but here.
"Good girl," is what he opened with. Shamelessly looked you up and down and continued: "I like it when you listen to me." Yes. You wore a tight crop top without a bra. And you had zero regrets for using cheap tricks.
"Well, Mr. Photographer. You're the boss. Now it's your turn to tell me what to do." The way how him telling you what to do made you so horny was freaking you out a bit. You were usually the dominant one, right?
"Like the sound of that. Come over there with me and let's see how this light works."
You were 100% sure he wanted to kiss you. Just like you wanted to kiss him. But this cat and mouse vibe was making it all just a bit more exciting. So you immediately went to where he was pointing.
"Taking a girl in the forest, alone. You sure you're not planning anything I should be worried about, am I right?"
"If I recall, you're the one who dragged me to a forest at night. Perhaps it's our thing."
"We'll see."
//
Lando had a different kind of a photographer personality than you had. With him doing this just for fun, he was super relaxed, chatty and playful. You were more "crazy eyes" "in-the-zone" type of a person when it came to photography. But his approach worked on you. You were actually bit worried coming here, because being on that side of the camera was not your comfortable spot. He managed to get all of this out of the window without even trying. At first he gave you over the top instructions as a joke, suddenly speaking with a horrifyingly bad French accent.
"I'm not doing that, Lando," you laughed out when he requested you run away from him so he could take some blurry back shots.
"Monsignor Norris for you, madame, let's be professionale," he kept his act and looked at you and rolled his eyes. "These young hot girls, they always think they are ze shit. How can I work with these material. My art will suffeour."
You looked at him, trying not to laugh at his theatrical expressions. Apparently, you were now into bad accents jokes. He was getting under your skin in parts you had no idea is possible. "This was maybe more German than French, monsignor Norris."
"Papa must have been German then." He then swiftly moved his camera up, completely taking you by surprise.
"Yes," he abandoned the accent. "The face of a total disbelief suits you the best. I want to see that."
It was fascinating to watch someone walk so gracefully on the line of serious hot and goofy cute. You were doomed.
You sighed loudly. He smiled. You bit your lip and butterflies flew as if they were on drugs. Because spending time with him was having the same affect as drugs would have on different people.
"Can I take one photo of you?" you asked. "The light is just too perfect to miss this out."
He stepped closer. Handed you the camera. When his hand touched yours, it felt like being burned in the best way possible.
"Yes. But only if this goes to your special secret folder with the other ones."
You nodded. His fingers played with yours. You looked up at his face and lips he just licked. And then you kissed him again. This was probably the slowest kiss you ever shared. Not a quick "hurry up before someone sees us" type of kiss. No, this was the one where you explored, drowned in the moment. You were becoming used to the texture of his lips, the way his tongue moved and how his teeth lightly bit your own lips once in a while. This wasn't a rushed moment. This was a study session. It continued to surprise you how great of a kissing partner he was to you. Putting most of your previous kisses you had with other people in shame.
When his hand slowly traced a line starting down your neck and ending right above your nipple, you could feel him smile into your kiss. "Shall I continue?" Lando had his line of asking for consent and making it sound hot mastered to perfection.
"Yes."
"Yes...?"
"Yes, please."
"That's more like it." And he went on to circle and squeeze your nipple. It was as if he had unlocked a new level. The further you went the more had the curiosity about how it must feel when he'd be inside you grew into a need. Desire transforming to urge. Intrigue growing to lust. Lando studied what kind of an effect each of his move had. And used what he had observed to toy with you even more. He gently pushed you to the nearest tree, pressed his body against yours and bit your nipple through your shirt, causing you only wanting more. You grabbed his hand it on your other breast and make him squeeze it. While you yourself started exploring his torso under his t-shirt. He returned back to kissing you, while his hands roamed around your body. You reached all the way to his belt and pulled him forward. "Careful, Y/N," Lando joked in between kisses. "Might be hard to turn back and stop if we keep it at this pace. Here in this forest. Anyone could walk by."
Your hand started to trace the outline of his growing erection. "Is it bad that I'm finding that hot?"
He smiled. "Yes. And I guess we are both bad people."
You gently grabbed him. The reaction his body was giving you was everything. "So we'll stop here. We need to get you to the stupid event anyway."
Lando took a deep breath. "Right."
"Right," you smiled, finally seeing that you have some effect on him, which was only making you want to go further in the future.
You both stepped away from each other, burning each other with eye contact. Once Lando came back to normal a bit, he winked at you. "Come along, I need to smile at people who are making sure we get paid."
"Fair enough." You snapped an unexpected photo, getting his flustered face in the perfect light. Cheeky smiles were shared again.
The sun was almost set as you reached his car. "I'll drive you to the hotel."
"You sure?" you asked. "I'm happy to get a cab to be safe."
"Nonsense, you'd be waiting here for half an hour. Come, I'll drop you off in the parking lot of the hotel, quickly dress and head to the event."
You got into his car, reluctantly. Once you were settled, he promply started the car, did 180 drift and had the car sprint to the road entrance.
You laughed. "Show off...."
"Ha, as if."
The drive was silent for few minutes, but after that Lando started asking you quite a lot of questions. It seemed a bit strange to you. He was suddenly interested in how you like your colleagues, what got you to the world of F1, how your family handled the fact you were away all the times. You made a joke about this feeling like an interview. He joked back, saying he is continuing on trying different roles and progressed from a photographer to an interviewer. You had a lot to say about this - how come he would consider this a progress?
It felt like you could spend hours talking to this British idiot.
In the middle of your conversation, he put his hand on your leg for a moment. It really should not make you lose focus on the outside world so quickly, right?

Okay, I want to follow this content. What do I do?
Hello everyone.
So given the recent raise of "tag me!" replies in fics going around Tumblr, and given the recent awareness post about how disheartening, annoying and sometimes disappointing it can be to only get that kind of engagement — I've thought it was a good idea to explain what you can do if you want to follow content.
Basing on what Dis already added to the original post, this is a more detailed list of what options you have when enjoying the content you see.
I liked this prompt, I wish to see all the additions to it. How can I keep up?
You can subscribe to the post!
Desktop: Left click on the three dots and click on "Subscribe to conversation"
Tumblr media
Mobile: Go to the Notes and click the top right bell icon
Tumblr media
I liked this fic the author posted and I wish to know when they post the next part. How can I be notified?
You have several options here:
Find their Ao3! A lot of authors crosspost on tumblr and ao3, or prefer to post a more polished version on ao3 later on. Whichever the case, you can go to AO3 and subscribe to the fic/author there if you'd like
Tumblr media
2. Follow the author! Really. We don't bite. You can just follow the blog, as easy as that. Want to be notified any time they post anything? You can subscribe to the blog and get a notification when they post anything
Tumblr media
EDIT: THERE ARE "SECRET" DASHBOARDS, and one of them is a dashboard of all the blogs you have turned on notifications.
Blog Subscriptions Dashboard or go to Settings and turn on the tab in Settings -> Lab
Tumblr media
A post about more fun Tumblr dashboards
3. You can still request to be tagged if they continue! But don't let that be the ONLY engagement you do. Like the post. Reblog it. Leave a comment saying what you like, a keysmash, a lovely "hey i really like where this is going!" and then you can say "if you do continue, can you tag me?". 9/10 we would love to write down your name. I can't speak for everybody so it depends on the person, but we want to not feel like we are screaming to the void. Engage. Respond.
KEEP IN MIND: Tumblr is a reblog-based social media. There is no algorithm. We get readers ONLY via reblogs. Likes? Likes are nice but do nothing. You liked the art? REBLOG THE ART.
Another post about reblogging, why it doesn't feel annoying for authors and how you can reblog and add tags faster on desktop and mobile
UPDATE: Tumblr feature for desktop!!!!! If you hover with the mouse over a post and hit "shift+R", post is automatically reblogged!
I liked this oneshot and I wish to know if they will continue it.
If it's a oneshot, RESPECT IT. The author may not have plans for the story, or doesn't have the energy to elaborate. Or if they do, it will be waaaaay later.
Whatever the case, don't demand a continuation.
Really, don't. Is very rude.
Still want to shoot your shot and see if they continue it?
Reblog it! Say why you liked it! In the tags, in the same reblog, wherever! If the author gets inspired they will continue, but remember we do this for free in our free time, you don't know what their life looks like. Respect that.
PLEASE NOTE: You can still find them in AO3 and subscribe to the fic/author there.
I like the AU/Idea/Project, how can I follow any new content for it?
You can follow a tag!
A lot of authors have a specific tag for their AU/idea/project (eg. "plant princess au") that you can follow if you want to keep up. Just check the tags in the post and hit follow.
Desktop:
Tumblr media
Mobile:
Tumblr media
And that's it! If I have more ideas or examples I will add to the post.
Remember, the point is not to make fun or to make people apologize for the "tag me" replies. This is informative for newcomers and older users alike.
If you have any questions or worries don't hesitate to ask! 🙂👍💖

I woke up the following morning with a raging headache and thoughts that most certainly warrant a cold shower. My mind is clouded yet again with provocative thoughts of the large Austrian military man I had the pleasure of meeting yesterday, and how badly I wished to feel his lips against mine again. I could kiss that man all day and night, which appears to be part of what he seems to have in mind for me, amongst other things, as he so boldly pointed out last night. I hate that I have to spend my entire day anticipating our date later this evening, and I know Adrian is gonna have a billion and one questions about last night and what may have possibly happened between König and I. Sigh. I pulled the covers from my body and walked over to the window to open the curtains when I heard a knock on the door. I opened the bedroom door to find Adrian grinning from ear to ear with an extremely large bouquet of vibrant crimson coloured roses and an envelope in her hands. “What the hell?” I laughed. “Awww, did you get me flowers?” I teased.
“Haha, very funny.” She laughed. “I didn’t, but I have a feeling I may know who they’re from!” she shrieked excitedly as she handed me the flowers and the envelope, before skipping into my room and closing the door. “Chantelle” written quite beautifully in cursive painted across the front of the envelope. I set the flowers down on my bed and took a seat beside them as I opened the envelope. “Guten Morgen Schönheit,” it read.
“I just realized we never exchanged numbers, would love to hear from you before I see you tonight. I know roses are a bit typical, but they’re beautiful…not as beautiful as you, but close! Here is my number. Looking forward to seeing you again.
- König.”
Aw! I don’t think I can remember the last time a man bought me flowers, especially when it wasn’t necessary. He could have easily messaged Adrian for my number or have had her give me his, but I like that he put some thought and effort into it! I think I must’ve re-read the note at least 30 times, a goofy smile smeared across my face as I drowned out Adrian’s numerous questions. “Are you even listening to me?!” She asked as she shook my shoulder.
“Sorry,” I laughed. “What did you say?”
“What the hell happened last night?” She asked. See, I knew she wasn’t paying attention. “Soo…we kissed. Well, he kissed me.” I said as I felt my cheeks heating up, undoubtedly turning a bright shade of red as my mind replayed the moment we kissed by the bar rail. “How did I miss that?” She asked.
“You were sloshed.” I cackled as I watched her brows furrow. “You were glued to one of König’s friends pretty much the entire night, and telling the whole table these suuuuper elaborate stories, theatrical hand movements and all.” I continued, laughing harder as I recalled what she looked like while she spoke. “Fuck…yeah I don’t even remember getting home to be honest. I’m surprised I’m not sick right now, but I suspect it’s because I’m still kinda drunk.” She giggled. “So how was it?!? I need all the deets.”
“Incredible would be an understatement, that’s all I will say…I’m supposed to have dinner with him later tonight.”
“That’s my girl! I told you that man was into you.”
I rolled my eyes and sighed, “I know, Adri. He’s just…kinda intimidating. I’ve also never dated a man this much older than me.” The whole age gap thing doesn’t really bother me, it’s just different! Not even gonna lie, its a bit exciting…he’s probably very experienced, but considering I haven’t slept with very many people, I am a little worried about not meeting his expectations. I also feel like I’m reciprocating his interest in more than just sex, and that’s making me a little nervous as well. The last thing I would want is to develop strong feelings for someone who lives so many miles away. Even though we only hung out for a couple of hours at a crowded bar, in between all of the sexual tension was great conversation and a medley of common interests. In all honesty, he’s really just one big, giant, sexy dork. He’s funny, he’s intelligent and well spoken, and it seems he can also be a little shy at times too, but a part of me is hoping it’s just me that brings that out of him. “I mean, I get it, but don’t let any of that psych you out. Don’t overthink it, Chantelle.” Adrian said. “Text him! Or call him, he may be on the base right now actually. Tell him to tell Horangi I said Hi!” She laughed as she walked towards my room door. “Think I’m gonna grab a couple more hours of sleep.”
“No problem girl, you definitely need it.” I giggled.
I stared at my phone, the number from the note in the envelope typed into my contacts and saved under ‘König🙈💕’. My thumb loomed over the “Send Message” button. Why is this so hard? Maybe because I don’t know what I want to say to him. Obviously I would like to thank him for these gorgeous roses, because it was just so…cute! And even though I literally know he wants to hear from me, my heart is beating so fast it feels like it could literally burst right out of my chest. I began to type, “Good morning König, it completely slipped my mind that we didn’t have each other’s numbers, I appreciate you reaching out to give me yours. Thank you so much for the flowers, they are stunning 🙈 How is your day going so far?” I took a deep breath and hit send, damn near throwing my phone to the other side of the bed. I stared up at the ceiling for what felt like an eternity before I heard my phone ding. I didn’t wanna look at first, for fear of it not being him and getting disappointed, but I sucked it up and reached across the bed for my phone. iMessage König🙈💕. I typed in my passcode and opened the message. “I’m glad you liked them, they reminded me of you 🙂🌹 I’m actually on the base at the moment, finished up a bit of training with a few recruits, now I’m just in my office taking care of some paperwork. How are you?” He texted. Below the text was a photo of him in what I assumed was his office, decked out in FULL tactical gear. I’ve seen military men in uniform many times before, but I’d never seen anything quite like this. This must be what Adrian was talking about before. His sniper hood — the black cloth that draped over his face underneath a helmet, eye black smudged around his blue orbs, the only part of his face that remained visible. I don’t quite know how to describe how I feel seeing this version of him for the first time, though it’s very reminiscent of how I felt the first time I saw him at the train station. It sure is a shocking sight. Definitely adds to the overall intimidation factor that comes with him as whole. I bet it does an amazing job at scaring off the opposing side. Hm. I never really thought I’d be into the whole ‘masked man’ thing, but seeing him like this is making me think otherwise. I can’t help but fantasize about being in that office with him right now. I can’t stop picturing myself underneath his desk with my fingers gently wrapped around his long, hard, throbbing cock, my tongue gliding over his leaking tip as he looks down at me. His mask and eye paint drawing emphasis to the look of absolute gratification in his stormy eyes, while his large fingers twist themselves up in my hair, pushing my lips further down around his shaft. My thighs clench together at the thought, desire seeping through my folds as I continue to look at the picture, relishing in the various naughty scenarios being conjured up in my mind. Oh, God why do I like this? “I hope my hood hasn’t scared you off 😅” he texted, immediately shaking me out of my trance. I figured I may as well send him a selfie back, but I began wondering if I should change out of my pyjamas — a large black Nirvana Tee and a pair of panties. Maybe I can have a little fun with this. I tapped on my camera app and posed, my shirt strategically pulled up a bit to give him a little sneak peak at the red thong currently nestled between my ass cheeks. “My day is just getting started! Your mask didn’t scare me at all…is it weird that I kinda like it? 😜🙈” I texted, sending the message along with the photo I’d just taken. “Maybe just a little hahaha, but I’m glad you like it. I’ll have to wear it for you in person sometime 😉” He texted back shortly after. “Do you sleep that way or did you put that on just for me?🤔😏” I giggled as I read the text, biting my lip as I thought of how to respond. It’s obvious that his military attire has lit a fire in my core, and I want him to know, but a little teasing never hurt anyone. “Don’t flatter yourself, I don’t usually wear anything at all to bed.” I responded.
“Oh is that so? ”
“Mhm…🙈”
“You’re very distracting, how am I supposed to get any of this work done now?”
“Me? Distracting? What ever do you mean? 🤨🤭”
“Oh, you know exactly what you’re doing, Maus, and it’s working.”
“What am I doing?”
“Making me want to drop everything to come keep you company in that bed, and give you a taste of what’s to come…I’d make sure you woke up with a smile on that gorgeous face jeden morgen.” Fuck.
“Yeah? And how would you do that?”
“Well first of all, I’m a hell of a cook, I’d make you whatever you’d like.”
“French toast?”
“With a nice side of the best bacon you’ve ever had, along with some fresh fruit 😋”
“Mmm…that sounds absolutely delightful!”
“After I’ve satisfied your tastebuds, I’ll make sure to satisfy you in every other way possible.”
“What else do you think would satisfy me?”
“A number of things, starting with slow passionate kisses…I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get enough of your lips, but I bet the ones between your legs are much sweeter. I’m dying to taste you.” My breath began to labour as I read his texts, warm slick seeping from my folds and through my panties as my fingers gently caress over my swollen clit. “How badly do you want me?”
“So bad I might rip through my cargo pants…” He sent another photo, only this one didn’t have his face — or rather eyes — in it. It wasn’t your typical ‘dick pic’, there was no nudity, but I certainly saw a lot. I stared, dumbfounded at the size of the print outlined beneath his cargo pants. I kinda figured it would be big, but I didn’t think it would be that big. I’ve never had anything that size but I got hot just thinking of taking it. Feeling him fill me up, pushing that boundary between pleasure and pain, fuck. I pulled my fingers from my panties, my juices coating them as I positioned my phone above them, capturing the strings of wetness connecting my index and middle fingers. “Komm und koste mich 💋” I sent along with the photo. “Schiße…maybe you might be the one who ends up being bad for my health 😂”
“Maybe neither of us is bad for the other…” A couple minutes of silence passed before I received another text. I figured he’d gotten caught up with work, or some…other kind of interference, but it appears he may have had something a little more serious on his mind. “I do think it is important to stress that as badly as I want you this way, it isn’t the only thing I want. I just want to make sure you know that I don’t just want your body, I want more than that.” He texted.
“What else do you want?” I replied.
“What I mentioned last night at the bar…to be able to come home to a woman as beautiful as you. I want you to be mine.”
Tumblr media
7pm came a lot quicker than I’d expected it to. I guess it helps that König and I have been texting back and forth for pretty much the entire day. By the time he arrived to pick me up, I was ready to go. I decided to go with a black, mid length, form fitting off the shoulder dress, and a pair of strappy black heels. I styled my hair with my curling iron and parted it down the middle, before accessorizing with a pair of Diamond earrings, and my black faux snakeskin clutch. Makeup was perfect, not overbearing but not too light either, and then for the finishing touch, a few spritzes of Chanel’s Mademoiselle perfume. I damn near raced down the stairs, waving goodbye to Adrian and her aunt and uncle before walking out the door. Butterflies began to swarm about my stomach as he and I locked eyes, he was leaning against the front end of his car, fidgeting with his keys as he waited for me. He looks even better than usual — wearing a pair of medium wash denim jeans, a white crew neck shirt and a nice leather jacket. His hand outstretched to me as I approached him. I placed my hand in his as he gently pulled me in closer, placing his finger beneath my chin and tilting upward. “Hallo meine schatz,” he smiled as he leaned downward, placing his lips softly against my forehead. “Du siehst heute Abend sehr schön aus.” He whispered as he held my gaze.
“Dankeschön.” I said, biting my lip as he leaned forward to close the gap between our lips, his kiss dripping with longing and fervour. “Let’s get going, ja?” He breathed as his thumb gently grazed against my bottom lip. He quickly leaned back in for one more kiss before we got into the car. Ugh, I can’t get enough — and apparently, neither can he.
We arrived shortly thereafter at a very nice Italian restaurant. He pulled my chair out for me before taking his seat. It’s so sad that this is the first time I’m actually experiencing genuine chivalry, but men in North America do not behave this way. If anything, majority of the time it’s the complete opposite, but I won’t even get started on all that. The waiter placed menus in front of us both and filled our glasses with water, before departing as we looked over the menus. “Do you see anything that catches your eye yet?” He asked, a slight smirk appearing on his lips as his eyes peered up from behind his menu. “Maybe,” I began, fighting back a smile as I took a sip of my water. “How would you feel about a bottle of wine? Do you prefer red or white?” He asked.
“I do prefer white, but kinda in the mood for red wine tonight.
“Perfect!”
“Everything on this menu sounds incredible, but I think I’m gonna go with the Chicken Parmigiana with Linguine Pomodoro.”
“I think I’m going to go with the streak and veggies, been a long time since I’ve had a good steak.”
“Mmm that sounds yummy too, it’s definitely going to taste great with the red wine as well.”
“Oh definitely.” He smiled as he set his menu aside, his hand reaching for mine across the table, gently holding it in his as his thumb grazed against my fingers. I absolutely adore how affectionate he is. He is so different from the man I imagined he would be. While I’m sure there’s a side of him that is ruthless and aggressive, given his profession, he’s so sweet with me, and I have a feeling this is a side not very many get to see. He brought my hand up to his lips, planting soft little kisses along my fingers. “I can’t get over how beautiful you are.” He said “Ich könnte dich den ganzen Tag ansehen” he smiled, his cheeks adorning a faint shade of pink. Is he blushing? “Danke,” I blushed. “You look great tonight as well, the leather suits you.” I smirked.
“Oh what, this old thing?!?!” He said knowingly.
“Mhm, you know you look good, stop pretending you don’t.” I giggled.
“Hey, I admit to nothing.” He laughed as he raised both hands in defence. I laugh as the waiter returned to take our orders. “Are we ready to order?” He asked. “Ja,” König said. “Meine dame will have the chicken parmigiana and the linguine pasta, I will have the steak, medium, with a side of vegetables and mashed potatoes. May we also have a bottle of red wine please?” Something about him asserting dominance and placing my order for me had me clenching around nothing. I find it so incredibly sexy that he manages to remain refined and polite, all while also being stern. That tinge of aggression I see in him when he addresses others, and the attention he commands is exhilarating. As much as I can’t wait to eat, I’m yearning to be satiated in other ways that don’t involve food.
We remained at the restaurant for another 2 hours post dinner talking about everything and anything under the sun. I learned that he will soon be retiring from the army, enjoys fishing and hunting in his spare time, and collects vintage comic books. He’s a huge fan of all things classic rock and metal, but he also enjoys smooth jazz. He’s got a soft spot for cats and animals in general. He has a 5 year old black cat named Moritz, and adopted two German Shepherds for his base as pets. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, and I believe we both learned quite a bit about each other, and we both seemed to like what we learned. My nerves returned as we got into his car. What happens now? I’m really trying to decide what I’d like my next move to be. Should I go home, or should I go home with him? “Two days left before you go back, right?” He asked as he turned to me, a slight hint of disappointment in his eyes. “Yes, unfortunately.” I sighed. “I wish I could stay longer, especially considering we’ve only just begun to get to know each other.”
“I also wish you could stay longer, but I assume you have a whole other life to get back to in Kanada” he sighed. “How do you feel about continuing to see each other, despite the distance?” I tried to contain my surprise as I pondered his question. I guess I never really thought he’d be interested in that, but it seems like every assumption I’ve made about König has proven to be incorrect thus far. Long distance relationships always make me uncomfortable, even though I’ve never been in one. Though I know it isn’t a relationship, at least not just yet, I do have my reservations about an arrangement such as this one. However, I do think I lucked out here. It’s not very often that you run into your dream guy on an impromptu weekend trip to Vienna. I think I’d be doing myself a disservice if I ended things on the basis of distance. “I still want to see you…I like where things are going.” I blushed, smiling as I saw excitement gleaming in his eyes. “I’m very happy to hear that.” He smiled as he leaned over to kiss me. “Sie werden es nicht bereuen, Maus.” He said lowly against my lips. I looked up at him, my heart beat picking up pace as we searched each other’s eyes. You could cut the sexual tension in here with a knife, and I think at this point the only logical option here is…I’m going home with him. “König,” I whispered.
“Yes?” He asked, gently resting his large hand over my thigh, causing a myriad of goosebumps to appear all over my body. “I’m not ready for the night to be over.” I said, a devious grin dancing on his lips as he started the car. “Would you like to come back home with me, Maus?” He asked, his hand gently gliding along my thigh, sliding upwards toward my core. “Yes.” I breathed as I reached over, pulling him down against my lips. It wasn’t long before what was meant to be a small peck turned into a full blown make out sesh, our tongues massaging against one another’s as his hand gently slipped beneath my dress. He pulled away, earnestly searching my expression for confirmation to go further. I nodded and pulled him back into me, moaning into the kiss as his calloused fingers approached my soaking wet folds. “Schiße…” he breathed as his fingers explored me through my panties, an array of tiny moans escaping my lips as his thumb rubbed against my swollen nub. His lips moved to my neck, softy sucking and biting along my sweet spots as he pulled my panties to the side. “Oh Maus,” he whispered, as he slowly inserted two of his fingers into my pussy. “You’re so tight…” he said as he began thrusting his fingers. “So fucking wet and I’ve barely even touched you yet.” He breathed against my lips, gently nipping at the bottom one as he pulled away and cupped my cheek. His expression riddled with satisfaction as he watched me squirm beneath his fingers. “Is this all for me?”
“Yes.” I moaned, as he pulled his fingers from my sopping wet cunt. “Good girl.” He praised, as he slowly pushed his fingers between my lips. I leaned forward, sucking my juices off of his fingers, my gaze never leaving his. “Mmm, that’s it liebe.” He said, indulging in the sight of me delighting in the nectar he’d procured from my folds. He grabbed hold of my chin and pulled me in for yet another kiss, but this one was different, it’s was needy and aggressive. His hand reached back down between my legs, his thumb resuming its slow and gentle dance over my swollen clit. “Such a beautiful little thing,” he whispered into my ear, his fingers reentering me, my head reflexively falling back as he massaged my g spot. “I can’t wait to pin your legs back and watch your toes curl as you take every inch of this cock.” He said, guiding my hand towards the large bulge in his jeans.
“Please König,” I begged. “I wanna feel you so bad.” My palm gently stroking against his hardness through his pants.
He smirked as his fingers slipped out of me, bringing them up to his lips and licking them clean. “You taste even sweeter than I imagined.” He said.
Tumblr media
I slowly slipped the shoulders of my dress down my arms as König laid back on his bed, watching intently as my dress fell to the floor, my bra and panties following closely behind. He wandered about my curves through hooded eyes, drinking in every inch of me, his gaze growing dark as his bulge practically begged for release. I climbed on top of the bed and knelt beside him, unbuttoning his jeans as he reached for the hem, helping me slide them off and kicking them to the side. More than half of his hardened length lay erect against his stomach, peeking out from the waistband of his boxer briefs. Precum oozed from his blushing tip, droplets decorating the lower half of his stomach over his happy trail. I pulled down his boxers, jaw slack as I stared down at the entirety of his impressive length. “Fuck…” I said under my breath.
“Don’t worry, Maus. We’ll take it slow.” He reassured, clearly noticing the slight fear in my eyes. I nodded as I climbed a top his waist, straddling his hips as his hands began to squeeze and grope at my ass cheeks. We began to kiss, our bodies growing hot with anticipation, my hips gently grinding down, rubbing my engorged clit against his throbbing cock, covering him in the wetness spilling from my core. He wrapped his arm around my waist and flipped me onto my back, hovering over me as he planted rough, wet kisses along my neck and over my chest. His lips engulfing one of my nipples, as his hand clasped around the other, rolling my nipple between his finger tips. “Oh God…”I breathed heavily, my nipples growing hard and sensitive as he licked and sucked, gently biting and tugging on my nipple before switching sides. He began making his way down my stomach, kissing along my inner thighs before stopping to admire my needy cunt. “Such a beautiful pussy,” he muttered before hooking his arms beneath my legs, lifting me slightly off the bed as he pulled me into his face. “Fuck…” I moaned, quite loudly as his tongue engaged my nub, ferociously lapping and flicking against it as my hands grabbed hold of his bedsheets. “Mmmm,” he moaned. “You taste incredible…so fucking wet for me, meine Maus” he breathed, his breath hot against my folds as he darted his tongue inside me. “Fuck, König !” I exclaimed, the build of my impending climax growing more and more intense with each passing moment. “Let go for me, I want you to cum all over my tongue.” He growled. “Cum for me, Maus” adrenaline washed over me as I released, my orgasm pulsating through my body as he continued to suck on my hardened clit. His arms departed my legs as he lay flat and I attempted to catch my breath, three of his fingers entering my pussy, thrusting uncontrollably. My pussy squelched and clenched around his fingers as he began to curl upward, torturing my g spot as he continued to suck on my clit. “Oh König, you’re so good…I can’t,” I gasped. “I’m gonna cum again, oh my god”
“That’s it, Maus.” He praised as a second orgasm washed over me, this one much more intense than the one prior. “Mmm, mein Got you taste so fucking good. Look at the mess that desperate little cunt of yours made.” He panted. “But I’m not finished with you yet.”
“König, please.” I cried out, eyes hazy from the back to back euphoria my body just experienced. “Please fuck me.” I begged.
“You look so beautiful all dripping and spent.” he smirked as he leaned back onto his heels, grabbing his thick dick and sliding it up against my overstimulated clit. “I wanna hear you beg for it, Maus.” He smirked as he continued to tease my entrance with the head of his cock. “Auf Deutsch.” He said as he leaned over me, positioning himself by my entrance before leaning down to kiss me. “Bitte…” I stuttered. “Bitte fick mich, König.” I moaned as he slowly began pressing inward. “That’s what I like to hear.” He whispered, his eyes locked on mine, watching as my eyes widened at the sensation of his girthy cock sliding into me little by little. “Mmmm.” We moaned in unison, his hand clasping around my neck as he gently thrusted deeper and deeper into me. “This is what you wanted, isn’t it, Maus?” He asked as he bottomed out in me, his tip kissing my cervix. “For me to stretch out this pretty little tight cunt…destroy your cute little hole, Ja?”
“Yes.” I moaned, growing lightheaded as his grip on my neck tightened while he began to pick up the pace. “Yeah?” He moaned mockingly. “So tight, meine liebe…fuck you feel amazing.” He moaned against my lips. “You’re taking me so fucking well.” He growled, eyes piercing into me as he thrusted harder and faster.
“God König…you’re so fucking big.” I moaned. “Love the way you fill me up.”
“Mmmm, that’s my girl. You take it so well too, Maus.” He praised as he pulled my legs onto his shoulders, my moans growing louder and louder as he fucks me senseless. Obscene noises filling the air as my pussy gushes around his cock.“You’re such a good fucking girl for me.” He panted, swiftly pulling out of me and flipping me onto my stomach. He stood at the foot of the bed, grabbing me by my hips and pulling me towards him. I arched down, pushing my pussy down onto his cock as I looked back at him. His hand grabbed my hair, twisting it’s strands around his wrist as his other hand grabbed hold of my waist. He began to slam into me from behind, pulling me back against his chest by my hair. “God look at you,” he whispered. “So fucking cock drunk.” He breathed as his hand moved up from my waist to grab hold of one of my tits. My body begins to shake beneath his grip. “It’s so fucking good.” I moaned, tears stinging the corners of my eyes as he fucked my overstimulated cunt, shockwaves rumbling within my core as his cock twitched inside me, repeatedly caressing my cervix. My legs began to shake. “König I — I’m gonna cum” I cried out.
“Good.” He whispered as he spanked my ass. “I’m gonna cum with you…where do you want it?” He asked.
“My ass.” I moaned, my orgasm paralyzing me shortly after. He followed closely behind, whimpering as he quickly pulled out of me, his juices splattering all over my ass. He pulled my face towards his, placing a long tender kiss on my lips. “Du warst so gut.” He panted as he pressed his forehead against mine, cupping my cheek in his palm as we both tried to catch our breaths. I leaned forward and kissed him once more before he jogged over to his bathroom, bringing back a fresh towel and wiping his cum off of my ass. “Can I get you a glass of water, Maus?” He asked as he wrapped his arms around my shoulders from behind before kissing my cheek. “Sure.” I said as I smiled up at him.
That was incredible.

You didn’t think the situation with Mat’s statement could get any worse. You were already being pestered by your mom, your friends and even other parents at the day camps Nora attended. Mostly everyone knew that it was true that Mat was her father at that point so the statement caused questions to rise. Ignoring everybody’s opinions about it was easy but six simple words from Nora were what broke you.
“I thought Mat was my daddy,” she said softly while eating breakfast one morning. She had been quiet since the day before but it continued when she woke up the next morning. You thought maybe she was just moody and tired but it ended up being much more than that.
It took you a minute to answer, trying to figure out where she might have heard or been told that. It wasn’t that surprising that she might have gotten the impression that he was her dad considering how much time Mat had been spending with the two of you or she overheard a conversation. Kids are very perceptive but you couldn’t see how anyone would directly tell her about the public statement and you had been very careful about what you said around Nora and told everyone else to do the same.
Apparently someone didn’t get the memo.
You had two options. You could lie to Nora about what was going on or you could explain it in the best way you could to her. Lying to your daughter was the last thing you wanted to do but figuring out the easiest way to explain it so she would understand was hard. How were you supposed to explain that yes, Mat is her daddy but he was a fucking idiot and told the world that she’s not even though he said he wanted to be in her life. It would have been so simple to take the easy way out but it wouldn’t have been fair to Nora so after she finished her breakfast, you sat her down.
“You’re feeling a little confused, huh?” you asked, watching her fiddle with a loose string on her sweater.
She nodded, still not looking up at you and not offering her thoughts. It was a bit alarming because she was usually a chatterbox, even when she was upset about something. She would let you know exactly what was wrong.
“Who told you Mat was your daddy?”
She finally looked up at you, and the tears threatening to spill from her eyes made you both angry and upset. You were ready to find whoever told her and scream at them but her answer stunned you.
“I heard you talking to Jaxy,” she whispered. “I wasn’t trying to listen but I was coming out to get some water and you said that you were mad at Mat.”
She didn’t elaborate on what else she may have heard which was unnerving because you probably said a lot of things about Mat that night when Jax came over to talk to you about it. You hoped she didn’t stay long enough for your breakdown where you had cried for thirty straight minutes.
She sniffled, wiping a couple tears away. “I don’t understand.”
Your heart broke but you still struggled with how to explain everything to her. Telling her in the beginning was probably a better idea but you were so caught up in your own thoughts and feelings, you ignored the person who should have been your number one priority the entire time.
“Mat is your daddy, baby,” you said. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.”
I’m sorry I kept you a secret.
“How come everyone is saying he’s not?”
Mat should have been the one to answer this question because it was his doing, but you hadn’t spoken to him since the night he was at your apartment and the two of you argued. He had texted you the day after but you ignored it because you didn’t know what you would say when given the chance.
“Well, sometimes people make mistakes and Mat said something he shouldn’t have,” you explained, hoping it was enough and it seemed to be enough at first but then she hugged you tightly.
“I love you mama,” she said and before you could reply, she quietly asked, “Do you think Mat loves me?”
“I’m sure he does,” you told her and it took everything in you not to cry.
. . .
Liana: dinner at our place @ 6. bring nora and don’t be late!!!
You’re tempted to decline the request and just stay home but you’ve been promising Liana and Nadia that you would actually visit instead of dropping Nora off and leaving like you’ve been doing. Avoiding Mat is becoming increasingly difficult. It’s been two weeks since he released the statement and a week since your conversion with Nora. She’s been asking a lot of questions, ones that you didn’t plan on having to answer so soon. You expected her to be angry with you for not telling her but she took your confirmation that Mat’s her dad with ease.
So it didn’t come as a surprise when her first question was whether Mat would be at the Barzal household for this dinner. You hadn’t bothered to ask Liana, mainly because you knew it would definitely impact your decision to agree to go.
“Did you know that Zoe’s mom and dad aren’t together either?” She says during the drive to the Barzal’s.
You do know this but you humor her. “Really?”
“Yup. Zoe said she spends weekends with her dad and stays with her mommy during the week,” she explains and then moves on to a different topic. You’re a little curious why she would talk about her friends’ living arrangements but when you finally pull into the driveway, your question is answered.
“Do I have to stay at Mat’s on the weekend?” She asks and if you hadn’t already parked the car, you would have hit the brakes.
“No,” you say a little too quickly and sharply because she frowns.
“How come?”
You don’t answer her question right away, getting out of the car and walking around to the other side. She’s already unbuckling her seatbelt by the time you open the door and she’s still frowning.
“Just no, Nora.”
“But Zoe does!”
You can’t explain custody agreements to a seven-year-old so you say the first excuse you can think of.
“He doesn’t live here,” you say, taking her hand and begin walking towards the house. She’s dragging her feet, clearly not happy with your response.
“Do I have to call him dad?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Just ‘cause,” you say, stopping at the door and turning to her. Her arms are crossed and she’s giving you the look that says she won’t let up until you give her an answer she wants.
“Do you want to call him dad?”
She pauses, looking down at the ground and frowning. After a moment she shakes her head.
“No, but Miss. Jones says you’re not supposed to call your mommy and daddy by their first names ‘cause it’s disrespectful.”
“It’s not up to Miss. Jones,” you say gently. “This is new, and you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”
After a moment, she mutters a quiet “okay,” and then: “do you think Nadia has ice-cream for dessert?”
“Guess we’ll have to go inside and ask,” you reply and raise your fist to knock on the door but it swings open before you can. Liana is waiting on the other side with a big smile on her face. Nora runs straight to her and giggles when the older girl picks her up and swings her around.
“C’mon in,” Liana says, ushering you inside. So far there’s no sign of Mat so some of the tension leaves your body. After putting both yours and Nora’s shoes aside, you make your way to the kitchen. Nadia is puttering around, juggling a million things but she still smiles softly when she sees you.
“Can I help with anything?”
“You can keep me company,” she says and points to a chair. “Sit down and update me on what you’ve been up to.”
You know that you can’t argue with her so you sit and chat idly with her. She doesn’t bring up anything to do with Mat and you’re not sure what to think about it. You almost slip up and ask if he’s going to be here for dinner but decide not to. You haven’t seen him around since you arrived, so he’s probably out. Maybe with a girl.
Not that you care, obviously.
Mike eventually pokes his head in the kitchen to greet you and ask how you’ve been. He offers to set the table but Nadia shoos him out of the kitchen, rolling her eyes fondly.
“Don’t get married, they’re nothing but trouble,” she jokes but there’s a smile on her face that lingers even after her husband leaves. You always admired their relationship, and were certain that you and Mat would be like it some day but it wasn’t in the cards.
Soon, Nadia calls everyone to dinner. Nora immediately asks why Mat isn’t here and there’s an awkward silence until Liana breaks it.
“He’s busy,” she tells Nora and that must be enough because she just nods and starts eating dinner. Nothing else is said about Mat but just as you’re all finishing dessert, you hear the door open and close and there’s only one person you figure it will be.
Mat walks into the dining room, clearly caught off guard by your presence. Nora hops off her chair and darts over to him, wrapping her arms around his legs and starts chatting excitedly. He’s trying to give her all his attention but his eyes keep flickering to you.
When Nadia and Mike get up to start clearing the table and Liana asks Nora if she wants to go watch a movie, you realize that the three of them planned this. It’s almost like you’re kids again, fighting about something stupid and needing his parents to help fix the problem.
Mat looks at you a little helplessly when the room clears and it’s just the two of you. There’s no way you can yell at him with his family and Nora in the next room and you realize that was also probably planned.
“Can we talk?” he asks and you really don’t want to, but you realize that eventually you’re going to have to talk to him so you nod. You follow him out the back door and the two of you sit on the porch steps in silence until you finally break it.
“Why didn’t you come to me about what PR wanted to do? We could have figured out something together.”
He shrugs, looking at the ground. “I didn’t think to ask you about it. I just wanted to fix everything before it got complicated. I wasn’t thinking.”
“Yeah, no shit,” you mutter. “That’s something you’re great at. You don’t think before you do anything.”
You jump when he stands up suddenly and turns to face you. He’s angry but so are you.
“No, fuck that. You can’t just expect me to do everything right, when a month ago, all I had to worry about was hockey. I can’t be number one dad overnight! You didn’t even tell me about her for six years!”
You’re a bit taken off guard by his sudden outburst but you can do anger too.
“That is the exact reason I didn’t tell you about her, Mat. Hockey is always going to come first in your life,” you snap. “And I didn’t ask you to be a number one dad, all I asked was that you be sure you wanted to be in her life before you committed to anything because this is exactly what I was worried about.”
He falters a little, probably not expecting you to return the anger.
“I didn’t want to post what they asked me to,” he says, sounding defeated. “But I didn’t know how to say no. When PR tells you to jump, you jump.”
You’ve no idea how public relations in hockey works, it’s possible that they would have posted the statement without asking Mat but you’re so damn angry. You’re angry but you don’t know who you’re even supposed to be mad at now.
“You should have come to me,” you say again. “That’s how co-parenting works, you know.”
His mouth twitches. “That’s what we were doing?”
You can feel the anger slowly dissipating. Mat’s shoulders aren’t as tense and he plops back down on the steps so you sit next to him, letting your shoulders and knees knock against his.
“Well, you are her dad,” you admit. “And she is very concerned about her future living arrangements.”
He looks at you a little confused but there’s a small smile spreading across his face.
“Does she know?”
“Yeah,” you tell him. “She’s smarter than you expect sometimes.”
“She gets that from you,” he says, poking your arm.
You roll your eyes fondly. “Well she had to get her brains from someone.”
He huffs but it sounds more like a laugh. You watch him look at the ground, brows furrowed and deep in thought.
“I fucked up, didn’t I?”
Here’s the thing that a lot of people don’t know about Mat: he doesn’t forgive himself easily. It’s something you learned the hard way when you were younger and dating.
So you know he will beat himself up over this until you forgive him.
“Yeah, but we both did.” You bump your knee against his until he looks up at you. “We can fix it, but we have to do it together.”
He holds out his pinky finger. ”Co-parenting, right?”
You hook your finger around his and nod, letting yourself relax for the first time in weeks. It’s going to take time, hard work, and you’re both going to have to learn how to trust and communicate better again but you're sure you’ll get there.
“Together,” you agree.

Okay, so it's probably just too late to get it out of my head now. I think I am obsessed with writing him obliviously obsessed.
Warnings: Mentions of obsessive/stalkerish behavior and invasion of privacy.
I guess this is a second part to this: Part I
^--------------------------------------------------------
ObsessedSatoru who randomly passes by your house on the days and the hours he knows you should be there. He tells himself he just cares about you and wants to make sure you made it home and the lights are on.
ObsessedSatoru who wonders if you are okay when you fail to attend the bakery one Friday. "I just wanted something sweet before starting the weekend", you had told him once, and he couldn't agree more. Seeing you was sweet for him too. Since that day, it had become some sort of tradition meeting you there on Fridays. Why would you not show up? This changes the script a bit, he thought.
ObsessedSatoru whose first thought is that you may be still at work but changes his mind after making a quick call to your workplace and having no one pick up. So they are closed already? Any other day he had wanted to check, he had called and spoken a few words to the receptionist. 'A nice woman', you had told him once, 'she won't leave until all of us have left the office.'
ObsessedSatoru who decides to check your home in case you had headed there earlier. Confusion, disappointment and worry, exactly in that order, bloomed in his head when he saw the lights off. A quick inspection inside confirmed you were indeed not there.
ObsessedSatoru who has memorized your weekly schedule as well as his own. He knew you were free that night and had planned for the two of you to not so casually meet after work. He would then have persuaded you into grabbing dinner with him and asked you to go out the following day on a 'friendly date' to try a new coffee shop, nothing out of the ordinary, although he was actually planning for something a bit more elaborate than just coffee this time.
ObsessedSatoru who calls you to ask if you are free for dinner right now. A direct call had not been part of his plan. He knew you were most likely to agree if spoken with in person, but he figured it was the fastest way to reach you.
ObsessedSatoru who frowns lightly at you not picking up. Were you busy? With what? Not at work, not at home and he was sure you had no plans for tonight. You had his number and would usually pick up quick enough. Had you ignored him? No, he didn't want to think like that. Maybe lost your phone? He wanted to call again, but wouldn't that be too pushy? No, he was your friend, so it should be okay, right?
ObsessedSatoru whose mood lightened when you call him instead. "Satoru? Sorry, for not picking up before." He could almost hear your apologetic smile. "Is everything okay?"
"Are you home yet?" Maybe he was being too forward, but wasn't he always? And his tone was as friendly as it had always been with you. Still, he felt funny asking such a question in the middle of your living room. He knew you were not home. "If you're free, do you want to grab dinner?"
You went silent for a bit, and he heard some voices in the background. Maybe you were busy after all.
He was going to ask you where you were, but you spoke sooner. "Sorry, we went out for dinner with some colleagues. Maybe..."
"What about tomorrow?", he interrupted. He could still save his plan.
You were hesitating. This is what he feared. "Sure, we can do something tomorrow."
Score. If you could only see the smile you put on his face.
ObsessedSatoru who ponders whether or not he should come back to your house later while eating his dinner alone. 'We went out for dinner with some colleagues.' He didn't know much about the people you worked with. Maybe he should fix that. Just for safety. You can never know these days, right?
ObsessedSatoru who decided to check on you and smiles when he sees you entering your home from afar. You are okay, so he can go to sleep soundly now.
ObsessedSatoru who plans one of the most exhausting 'dates' you have ever been on. 'What should we do next?', he kept saying, coming up with more things to do every hour just because he did not want your time together to end. Not that he would admit that though.
ObsessedSatoru who invites you to his place after the rain caught you at the festival where he had taken you. Contrary to what you may have thought, he keeps a neat apartment. "So neat that it is almost as if you didn't live here", you had said with a smile. He took it as a compliment.
ObsessedSatoru who laughs it off when you mention you buy the same shower gel as him after using his bathroom. What a coincidence that he also seems to like the same brand of coffee as you, no? "Great minds think alike", he grins as he pours your cup. If you looked through in his fridge and cabinets, you would probably find more 'coincidences'. Right, maybe his most recent grocery lists had been slightly inspired by his findings in your home. But he liked you, in the friendliest of ways, of course. What could be wrong with wanting to try the same things you seemed to like?
ObsessedSatoru who thinks there is only one thing in the whole apartment he doesn't want you to see: the bottle of perfume in the drawer of his nightstand. It was the same you wore almost every day. The same you were wearing when he met you and the same you had worn today. He had bought it on a whim a few weeks ago, when he passed by a store and suddenly thought he had smelled you. A silly buy, nothing more, but he knew that could make you raise an eyebrow.
ObsessedSatoru who keeps his eyes on you without realizing he is staring and blushes lightly when you put your cup of coffee down and speak in the most serious tone "You have been staring. Are you obsessed with me or something?" Your expression immediately changes when his eyes widen. You laugh at his reaction.
ObsessedSatoru who laughs too, but maybe he is being completely sincere when he replies "How could I not be?"

“So, you’re from the city then?” you inquire with a smile. It looks rather smug on you but he thinks there's a genuine sort of happiness that lingers.
“Ah, I think being around you could be dangerous for me,” Satoru Gojo says with a chuckle as he turns away from you. His eyes see past the edge of the roof.
"Me, dangerous?" you ask, turning you gaze to where his eyes lay. The city looks daunting from up here, you think,
“Yes, reporters. Such dangerous folk you are.”
“You have the ability to literally crush me to death but I'm the dangerous one?” you ask.
The idea crosses your mind that perhaps fear should seize you right now, that you should try and run away from him, even though his grasp would secure you with the ease of a human capturing an ant.
“Words are more powerful than brute strength, you know?” he says, and he truly believes it.
You chuckle, there is some truth to that but if the monster or should you say godlike creature himself wants to compliment you, who are you to stop him. "There may be some veracity in that," you reply, though an instinctual urge to dispute him lingers.
“How do you know I’m a reporter anyway?” you ask, moments later. Though it's what you've been meaning to ask since he uttered his first words to you.
“I’ve seen you on the news. You’re kinda famous,” he concedes.
“Really?” you ask, a bit surprised but not truly unknowing of your presence around the city.
"Yes," he reaffirms.
“That’s... actually kind of nice to hear,” you say.
He emits a hum questioningly, encouraging you to elaborate.
“You know... that my words are reaching out to people, even a being such as you,” you say, turning as your eyes watches him, a bit entranced by him. "A god," you clarify.
He's so human, but you can tell he's odd, there's just something about him. You think you could tell even before you saw him crush that otherworldly gooey creature from earlier.
"Out there in the city, I am only human," he confesses, his gaze directed towards the report clutched in your hand. "And I prefer it that way. I am not particularly fond of the attention your reporting," he gestures towards the papers, "might bring upon me."
"I don't know. Somehow, I sense that you have an affinity for attention," you squint your eyes in humour.
"Oh," he rejoins, a grin adorning his features as he shifts his focus back to you. His eyes lock onto yours momentarily before descending to your lips. "I do."
Your brows raise, confused.
"Just from the right people," he clarifies.
"Attention from the right people, huh?" you chuckle, feeling an odd sense of wariness and pull. "And who might these 'right people' be?"
His smile glints against the monotone blue cityscape.
"Ah, I don't know," he says, taking a step closer. "It's a real mystery." His eyes flit down to your lips, again, and at that you gulp as you fight the urge to wet your lips.
A distant sound emerges all too suddenly, but you're almost grateful for it. Almost. Gojo glances towards the noise, a look of resignation flickering across his face.
"I need to go," he says as he steps back.
"Until we meet again?" you say, a question you've asked a million time now hanging in the air.
"Until we meet again," he says with a nod, and with a flash of movement, he vanishes, leaving you standing atop the city, alone all over again.

Medical Staff Superstitions and Cybertronian Medics
I was just thinking: What superstitions might Cybertronian medical staff have?
For some real world examples:
-Deaths come in threes
-Tying the corners of a bed's sheets "keeps the soul in" (helps prevents a patient from worsening/dying)
-Preparing for certain procedures ahead of time wards off certain incidents from happening (crash cart, some surgical setup, etc.)
-Full moon means a busy shift
-Some staff can be "unlucky"; For example, if a certain doc/nurse is working that shift, you can expect X to happen
-Nobody should ever say the word "quiet", or things are about to get real, real loud (busy)
Superstitions in healthcare vary from region to region, and from speciality to specialty.
For example, in a maternity/birthing ward, a well-prepared birth plan means everyone should prepare for emergency c-section or post partum haemorrhage.
One of my friends who is a nurse in Mexico said that a picture of an upside-down cat or upside-down dog pinned on the wall helps prevent poor outcomes! (This is apparently often done with pictures of staff member's pets, lmao.)
I'm sure that Ratchet wouldn't (at least knowingly) lean into any superstitions that might exist in Cybertronian healthcare, but I feel like other medics might.
Perhaps it varies regionally across Cybertron, too-- Tetrahexian medics may have different beliefs compared to Praxian medics, and so on.
I can see First Aid, with his collection of Autobot badges, potentially putting one upside-down on his work station. It would probably drive Ratchet up the wall, but Velocity might ask questions about it and share some Camien medical superstitions!
IDK It's just fun to think about.
Ratchet might even engage in some superstitions unconsciously, just out of habit from centuries of working with other medics in Iacon etc. who would probably get upset if the superstitions weren't taken into consideration, lmao.
First Aid might call this out in front of Drift, who would then be aaaaabsolutely fascinated, lmao.
I'm at work right now so I might elaborate a bit on this later, just thinkin' out loud lol

Warning: EXTREME dubcon, blood, knives, physical assault, mentions of sexual assault, forced blowjob, bite marks, might just be the nastiest piece of shit I've written to date
Summary: she was just a little clowngirl, so innocent, so lost...until he showed up.
︶︶︶︶༉‧₊˚.
Tumblr media
She was beautiful. That's how all these start, right? Some beautiful girl kidnapped and sexually tortured by some fat, old man and his sexually incompetent wife.
Except, that's not how it started, at least not for her. No, it started at the local fair, on Halloween night, looking for $5 to purchase a candied apple from a kiosk.
She was dressed like a clown, her makeup a mix of Pennywise and some other twisted clowns, her face and neck covered in fake blood. She wore fishnets, with two different patterns of thigh-high socks on. She had her jet black hair tied in pigtails, false strands of red and white peaking through. She was hot as fuck, and she knew it.
Perhaps that was why she wasn't comfortable with asking the myriad of men who approached her for money, afraid of them asking for much, much more than just a thank-you as payment.
Perhaps that was why she trusted the silent, horror clown that was peering at her through the windows of an old building that was being used as that night's Haunted House.
She went to him confidently, her smile flashing her teeth, her red lips parting to ask him a so very, very simple question.
"May I borrow $5, sir? I don't have enough and I'd like to buy an apple," She pointed to the stand, which a fat, cheerful-looking man handed out three delicious, red-coated apples to a mother with a gaggle of kids. The Clown looked at her, smiling with a set of bewildering teeth. She wasn't nervous, though, not at first. It was Halloween--he simply had an elaborate costume, right?
Instead, she was surprised when he beckoned for her to follow him, through a valley of dark and otherwise intimidating trees. She raised her eyebrow, quizzically, questioning her options.
"Did you park your car there, sir?" The clown nodded, motioning for her to join him. She still trusted him--how could she not? He looked as if he worked here, with how elaborate his costume was. Perhaps she should trust him, then, perhaps he really did leave his wallet in his car, and perhaps he was going to give her the money.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Another nod, and the clown reached out to touch her hands. She wasn't scared, not yet, because she hadn't had any red flags from this strange man yet. He was maybe doing a bit, wasn't he? It would be rude of her not to play along, isn't it?
"I'll follow you if you promise me the five dollars, okay?" He nodded again, and she let out a sigh before she started walking with him to the treeline, his hand holding hers. He was quite a bit taller than her, and stronger--her hand was in a small amount of pain from how tightly he gripped her. For his part, the clown was trying his best to appear appealing--the girl was someone he didn't want to get away, at least not yet. Perhaps later, but his plan has to happen first.
She was shivering slightly and struggling to keep up as the clown walked faster, his back turned to her as he navigated his way through the dense Forrest of trees. She could barely hear the fair anymore, the sounds of children's laughter replaced by the occasional caws of a crow.
"Aren't we a little far, Mr. Clown?" She asked, her voice starting to lace with worry. This was the part he so desperately desired--when she was going to realize she was alone, truly, and she had trusted the wrong person.
He turned, and stopped suddenly, and she bumped into him. Without warning, the clown taped her wrists together, binding them with a sticky layer of tape. His hands on her shoulders, she tried kicking andscreaming, but it was no use. He was stronger--and apparently smarter--than she was.
He taped her mouth shut next, the tape ruining her whiteface clown makeup and her lipstick. She looked at him, begging, to be let go. Art had no sympathy for her, he was incapable of that feeling.
But sexual pleasure was one thing that Art could feel, and tonight, he was going to exploit her body for all it was worth. He started by unpacking the bag at his feet, and she couldn't help but wonder where it came from. But when Art pulled out a knife, screwdriver, and a broken piece of a doll's head, she knew she was in deep shit.
She tried to scream against the tape as he started to undress her, ripping the seams of her costume with his knife. He touched her soft breast, groping it. How beautifully it felt against his hands. How pretty it was, when her nipples got hard. Should he cut them off? No, he had a better idea.
Smiling sinisterly, he pulled nipple clamps out of his bag, and ripped the bra off of her. Exposing her bare breasts, her nipples hardened at once to being exposed to the cold air of October, and she felt the tears prick in her eyes as she felt the hard, tight clamps clip down on her nipples. She started to cry, the sight only arousing Art more.
He then began the business of her pesky legs. Not wanting to get rid of the beautiful limbs, he settled for taping them securely, eliminating any chance of her running away. She was naked now, bound and gagged for this sick clown's pleasure. And all she could do was helplessly feel everything he did to her.
He then got his screwdriver, and rammed it into her pussy, the cold metal stinging her insides. He was careful not to hurt her, instead deciding to use this as a sort of lesson. To show her that, if he wanted to, he could hurt her, and to show her to be careful of whatever she did. She had no power in this situation.
He began to take his own clothes off, and he smiled sinisterly as he took his throbbing, aching dick out. Instinctively she swallowed upon seeing the size, her pussy beginning to get wet around the screwdriver as she began to wonder if he'd fit. If he didn't? She guessed he would make it fit.
He began stroking it in front of her, before slapping her across the face with his member. He grinned at the sight, and she looked at him with glassy eyes. She was beautiful, and his to ruin, and he took that job to the next level.
He tugged on her pigtails, forcing his dick on her face a few more times before he got tired of it. He then rubbed it against her ass, her tits, and her back--threatening her. The screwdriver was still inside of her, the thin rod of metal doing nothing to help the empty feeling inside of her as Art continued to rub his dick on her body.
He paused his game, twisting the screwdriver hard inside of her, pressing it farther against the walls. She screamed against the tape again, and Art slapped her, tired of her not realizing or comprehending what kind of a situation she was in. How stupid could this woman be?
He then took his abandoned knife and brandished it against her throat, cutting it. Not enough to kill, enough to draw blood and warn her not to get out of hand. She nodded as if understanding the gesture, and Art decided it was time to have some other fun with his fucktoy tonight. He ripped the tape off of her face, pressing the knife against her cheek as he stood above her, pressing the tip of his dick against her lips.
She took him in, parting her lips. But it wasn't fast enough for Art, who pushed past and went completely into her mouth and hitting the back of her throat. He fucked her mouth, using one hand to use her pigtails as a rope and the other hand pressing a knife against her cheek, the blood spilling out of it mesmerizing as she sucked on his cock. Obediently, like a good clown slut.
Her gag reflexes were working overtime. She puked more than once, being forced to swallow it from the rate at which the clown was fucking her mouth. Her makeup was ruined with tears streaming down her face, her head tired and her mouth sore. Art kept the knife on her face, periodically slashing a new part of it, marking her as his.
He was finished with her mouth. Slapping her across the face, then patting her on the head, he put another piece of tape on her mouth, holding a finger to his smiling lips. She understood.
Now that her throat was bare, she felt the aching emptiness of her core, and realized she was wet. For him, the man who was currently rummaging around in his sick fucking bag, waiting to present her with yet another instrument of torture.
This time, it was a leash.
He grinned as he attached it to her, enjoying the way she looked up at him, pleading with him to let her go. Of course he wouldn't. Not when she was such a good girl for him.
He tugged on the leash, forcing her to sprawl out at his feet. He spit on her, allowing her to know her place as beneath him. He then rolled her tired body over, and took the screwdriver out of her pussy. Sticking two fingers in, he quickly added another two, stretching her to her limits. She cried out against the tape, earning her yet another slap across the face.
He then pulled out, and she whined, practically pleading to be fucked already. Art would oblige. And with no warning, he pushed in all the way, forcing her to take his massive cock. And she did, though it felt as if she was being stretched in a million positions. She was going to be a good whore for him--maybe she'd get out alive.
He fucked her rough and hard, continuing to make tiny cuts into her body and pinching down on the nipple clamps as hard as he could. He used her body, he was fucking her roughly. And she, for her part, was beginning to find pleasure in the pain.
He kept the collar and the leash on, tugging at it occasionally if he felt she was enjoying it too much. This was to be her worst nightmare; he couldn't have her fully in pleasure, now could he? He picked up the screwdriver and made the decision to shove it in her pussy alongside his cock, making her whine. It was cold, but the sharp point of it was hitting against her walls, likely drawing blood. Good. This was not to be enjoyable for anyone except for him.
He felt her cum against his dick, her pussy clenching on him as she tried to conceal her orgasm. No matter, he'd simply torture her. He'd certainly experience the same amount of pleasure.
Taking his dick out of her, he slapped her, jabbing the knife into her shoulder, causing her to wince and cry in pain. Good. To Art, it felt like music, and it was music--a song only he would hear, ever. And he continued to abuse her, cutting her and hurting her in ways she couldn't even dream of. And all the while, he was rubbing his cock, an ever-present reminder to her that he was enjoying every second of her pain.
When he finally came, it was not in her, it was on her face, ruining her hair with thick ropes of cum. Art looked at the woman in front of him, bruised, broken, and battered, and grinned. A joke only he could understand, a scene that would play only for him. He'd allow her to live--he couldn't fathom someone finding her before she died of the cold or her injuries. It wasn't something that was a priority to him.
And so he packed his bag, leaving her taped-up and cummed on, her makeup ruined and her clothes in shreads around her. As pretty as a picture. Getting dressed, Art moved back to the fair, his grin more dastardly than ever before. Leaving her to figure out how to survive alone.

Hi! I really want to read the vulgate cycle but I have a hard time staying focused when reading it. Are there any sections of the vulgate that are not as important to the understanding or able to skip? Thank you so much for making all these stories accessible and thanks for your reply :))
Hello my friend! This is a great question and one I get a lot. The Vulgate Cycle is long and daunting, but I can help you navigate it!
Firstly, here is the full Vulgate Cycle PDF collection for everyone to read. Secondly, I'll summarize what you can do, and elaborate below a cut.
TL;DR
If reading a PDF, use CTRL+F to find your favorite character's name/stories.
If reading a physical copy, utilize the index (located at the very end of the Post Vulgate) to find them.
Discover chapters of interest from the summary page (also located at the very end of the Post Vulgate).
Skip The History of the Holy Grail and begin with The Story of Merlin or Lancelot I.
Now, let's break down the ways you can navigate the Vulgate Cycle step by step.
CTRL+F
This option will certainly be less effective if your favorite character is a prominent one such as Lancelot or Gawain as they appear a million times. However, if you want to learn more about someone else, say, the Lady of the Lake, you can search her up and find every instance of her appearance. Like so.
Tumblr media
Index
In the very back of the final book of the Post Vulgate, there's an Index listing every named character [Ex: Gawain], location [Ex: Orkney Isles], entity [Ex: Holy Spirit], animal [Ex: Gringalet the horse], and language [Ex: Hebrew] mentioned in the entirety of the Vulgate Cycle. There you'll find a list of which book/chapter/page they appear in. Here are all the mentions of Gawain's horse in The Book of Merlin.
Tumblr media
Chapter Summaries
Each book of the Vulgate Cycle has a Table of Contents with the chapter numbers and long, descriptive titles. That alone may give you an indication of what you want to read. However, at the back of the Post Vulgate, right before the Index, there's a list of every chapter in the Vulgate Cycle with a summary of events. That will give you more detail and may help you decide if you want to read in full.
Tumblr media
Skip
If it sucks, hit da bricks. The beauty of the Vulgate Cycle is that you don't need The History of the Grail or The Book of Merlin to understand what comes later. I enjoy them because History gives a ton of background to the religious themes the Grail Quest will eventually explore and sets up all the motifs way in advance and Merlin has the Orkney Bros as well as Yvain and Sagramore as kids which is fun. But the fact is you can begin with Lancelot I and you won't be lost. Lancelot I was written first, Merlin is a prequel, so it's optional, and the motifs of the Grail Quest are going to be heavy handed when you get there anyway without the added stuff from History. That's hundreds of pages you can skip if you want to! Norris J. Lacy, the head editor, and his translation team did a phenomenal job with footnotes throughout, so if a character off-handedly refers back to something, you can rely on them to leave a little note at the bottom for you to refresh your memory with. It'll even give you a chapter/page number if you want to refer back yourself. Here's a footnote referring to Agravaine's unnamed amie [his ladylove] who helped wing woman her sister to romance Gawain. That was 4 chapters prior to this moment.
Tumblr media
So there are plenty of ways to navigate the Vulgate Cycle and make it more digestible. That being said, it's translated so beautifully by Lacy and his team, that it reads like a modern novel. I have no doubt that once you get started, you'll become invested, and find it much easier to work through than you first thought. It's long-winded and character dense but it's fun. I do hope you're able to read it and understand why I love it so much! Thanks for this ask and I hope this helps. Have a great day!

"Maybe I'm Better Off Dead" Part 2 Velaryon!Reader x Aemond Targaryen
Tumblr media
Summary: Visenya is married to Aemond, who tries to keep her safe, but she is still a prisoner in a war just beginning.
Part 1
When I woke up, the sun was shining in brightly from the windows, which were now covered with bars. The bars were only a few inches apart, so there was no chance of slipping through the gaps.
"Are you hungry?" I turned to see Aemond sitting on the sofa where he slept last night.
"No." I replied, shifting in the bed slightly so I was sitting.
"It's not poisoned." He said, taking a bite of the bread on the tray in front of him. When I didn't respond, he took a bite of the porridge as well.
"Not all poison is immediate. You could just be waiting for an antidote while I suffer a slow death." I challenged.
He sighed, "very well. My mother brought some dresses for you if you wish to change while we wait."
"So you can take the antidote while I'm changing behind the screen?"
"You're quite impossible." He remarked. "Though, I never said you had to go behind the screen." He added with a smirk.
"It's not as if you need to ask anything of me."
His face hardened immediately, "I told you, I will never touch you without your permission."
"Aegon will not allow that. He will expect you to take my maidenhood."
"I already have a plan for that." He replied. I raised an eyebrow at him after he didn't elaborate. "Has your mother explained to you what happens?"
My cheeks flamed and all I could do was shake my head softly.
We were both spared the embarrassment of further conversation by the announcement of his mother at the door.
"You may enter." He said and moments later the doors opened to reveal the Queen Mother in a long velvet green dress.
"Aemond, your brother would like to discuss some things with you before the ceremony." He bowed to his mother before flashing a quick glance at me and leaving myself alone with Alicent. "Shall I help you dress for your wedding?" Her tone was not one of questioning, so I simply stood and followed her over to the pile of green dresses. "You needn't be afraid. Aemond has always been my gentle and kind boy." She said while selecting the most ornate of the dresses. One embroidered with countless tiny flowers and golden beads.
"He murdered my brother." I replied once again.
"The same brother who maimed him?" She challenged.
"We were children. Luke never meant to-" I paused realizing I had said exactly what she wanted.
"Just as Aemond never meant to kill Lucerys." She continued to speak as she helped me into the heavy dress. "Your grandsire was always terrified that his own family would go to war against each other. I think he was right and I'm sure your mother prepared you for that. You have the opportunity to prevent that by marrying Aemond and keeping peace. I know you don't want to and I know you're scared, just as I was, but I promise, no harm will come to you. You can still live a happy life with children you adore."
"You used to be my mother's closest friend." I said through teary eyes as she lead me over to a seat and began running a brush through the tangles in my hair.
"I did and I wish we would not have grown so far apart. Women follow the lead of men. I chose to follow Viserys and do my duty to my country. Your mother chose to follow her desires with your father rather than her husband."
"My mother chose to be happy, to find love and to allow Leanor to do the same. I understand that it was wrong, but it never had to become this. You could've chosen to be happy too." I caught her eye in the small mirror.
"You are a clever girl, but you are still young. You cannot break tradition that has lasted thousands of years. Thousands of men, women, and children will die in this war because your mother decided that her heart was more important than their lives. You can chose to follow the same fate or you can chose to find happiness in the life you have been given." She carefully pushed the last pin just a little too far and I felt it scrap my scalp. A threat that did not go unnoticed. She always hated me and that would not change as I married her son.
My stomach twisted into knots and my heart felt like it would explode out of my chest, but I forced my emotions down and held my head high. I would not cry in a room full of my enemies. The Usurper held my hand on his arm as he led me toward the man who murdered my brother. The blood pounded in my ears as we were married. I couldn't hear anything the Septon was saying. I wanted to scream and run, but I knew I would never be allowed to leave. I considered killing Aegon and ending this war, but I knew Ser Criston Cole, the man my mother had given a job to, would cut me down before I came within inches of victory. Aemond studied my face carefully as our hands were bound together. His eyes seemed to hold concern and pity. As much as I wanted to close myself off to him, I knew Alicent was right, if I did my duty, then perhaps the rest of my family could survive this. I couldn't let anyone else die. Aemond was gentle as he placed a hand on my cheek and slowly leaned forward to kiss me. My first. It seemed to last an eternity as he held our lips together before pulling away and taking my hand in his as we walked through the crowd of people out the front doors.
Once the doors shut behind us, he leaned down and whispered in my ear, "I'm sorry." I looked up at him in confusion, he was my husband now, he could do as he pleased, why would he apologize for kissing me?
"Let us go feast and celebrate the end to this fighting!" Aegon announced as he marched through the doors. He seemed to be the only one under the impression this would end the fighting, but as the King, no one challenged him.
Aemond stayed by my side for the rest of the evening, though apart from dancing, he never touched me. I started to become slightly comforted by his presence as many men who would be generals in the war to come approached me with thinly veiled threats of what was to become of my family. I was comforted until Aegon proudly proclaimed that it was time the bedding ceremony.
"My King, as we discussed, I would like the privilege of bedding my wife in privacy, if it pleases you." Aemond replied.
"Ah, yes, of course. My brother wishes to conquer alone. Very well." He waved us off and as we walked closer to his, or I supposed as it was now, our chambers I began to feel more and more afraid. The moment I stepped inside the room and the doors closed, I completely froze and the tears I tried so hard to force back came tumbling down my cheeks.
I could see Aemond out of the corner of my eye begin to strip off his clothes and tossed them next to the bed. I turned away before he took off everything.
"Once you change into your night clothes you hand me your dress." I didn't respond, but simply took off my dress and handed it to him, sneaking a quick glance only to find that he was also wearing his night clothes. He took the dress and tugged hard, tearing the fabric around the neck of the dress and tossed it on top of his clothes. I still hadn't moved from the spot I was glued to. "Visenya." I snapped my head up to meet his gaze. "I truly meant it. I'm sorry for today and I will not tonight, nor ever, force you to lay with me."
He walked over to the couch without another word and laid down. I was unable to completely relax, but I made my way over to the bed and settled into the sheets. Perhaps, he was right, maybe I wouldn't be harmed here.
I woke up to someone gently shaking my shoulder and immediately shot up, slamming into someone. He grunted softly, but still was the one to apologize. "Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you."
"It's okay."
"Aegon will be here soon, so you get dressed, while I take care of this." I noticed he was bleeding from a small cut on his torso. He noted my confusion. "When a maiden lays with a man for the first time, she bleeds. Aegon will expect to see that we consummated our marriage."
"Oh."
"It's alright. Toss your night dress over when you change, I'll need that too." He was quiet and also clearly uncomfortable. I nodded and climbed out of bed to go put on one of the green dresses from Alicent, tossing my night dress over as he asked.
I came out and saw that he was now dressed as well, but our clothes from last night and this morning were in a messy pile next to the bed. The sheets were all tangled together and I saw the blood on them.
"Thank you." I said softly, chancing a glance at him. He looked as though he was going to say something else before the doors burst open and the King entered.
"I trust you enjoyed your evening, brother." He said, coming in and walking toward the bed. His lips spread into a wide grin as he took in the scene before him. It turned to a smirk as his eyes found me. "and you, Princess. Did you enjoy yourself?" I wanted to remain brave, but something in his eyes caused me to shrink back, almost instantly bumping into Aemond, though I didn't remember seeing him move toward me.
"Can I help you with anything else, my King?" He said from behind me.
"Yes, I would like for you to fly to Storms End and inform Lord Baratheon that I require the presence of him and his men here to begin preparing for battle. Lord Hightower expects the bitch to attempt to rescue her little girl." He directed the last part at me.
"I did not expect to leave my wife so soon."
"When you return you will have plenty of time to make little lords and ladies. It will be a quick trip." His request was given as a King and therefore not one to be refused, so Aemond left. "I shall have your meals brought here until your husband returns tomorrow." Aegon added to me before he left the room.
It was a relief to finally be left alone and not feel constantly on guard, though as much as I was unsure at the beginning I was starting to feel even a little safe with Aemond. Perhaps he truly didn't mean to kill Luke and maybe he did regret it. I spent the day reading books that were left in the room, though I was not truly absorbing the words I consumed, it helped to pass the time until the evening.
The sheets were changed when the servants brought dinner, so they were clean as I settled into bed. I missed my family, but I now had some hope that I would see them one day.
Once again I awoke to the touch of someone and for a moment I thought it was Aemond until I remembered he was gone. I tried to sit up, but quickly realized I was pinned down. I screamed when I realized it was Aegon.
"Perhaps we will make some bastards of our own." He sneered as he roughly kissed down my neck and forced my dress up. I kept screaming and violently thrashed, trying everything in my power to get free, but it was no use. He was the King and as such, no one would be coming to my aid. The more I fought back, the harder he hit me until eventually I couldn't fight back anymore, all I could do was cry.
The next day no one came to bring me food or change the sheets. There was no bath and no new clothes. I didn't move, because everything hurt and I realized how stupid I had been to think I was ever safe here. Sleep came in short periods if terrible nightmares and the waking world was no different. I was terrified he would return, so when the doors opened again, I scrambled off the bed and shoved myself into the corner, ignoring the ripples of pain throughout my body.
I heard him inhale sharply before calling out my name, but I didn't move or make a single sound until he came around the side of the bed and saw me.
"Stay away from me." I croaked my throat raw.
"Who did this to you?" He growled.
"You know. That's why you left, so he could have his turn. You lied to me and tricked me so I would think I was safe, so I would trust you."
"I didn't I swear." He stopped "Did Aegon do this to you?"
I didn't bother to respond.
"I'm going to help you escape. Stay here. If you want to change clothes, you can. I'm going to figure out how to free your dragon and then tonight I'm getting you out of here." His voice held an uncharacteristic edge, but I wasn't naive enough to believe him again.
The only thing I did was take one of the new dresses and change out of the clothes I was wearing before sitting on the sofa. This time, I didn't get a book, I simply stared at the window, watching as night fell. When Aemond returned he didn't let the doors close behind him, but instead waited in the doorway and asked if I wanted to go for a stroll. The guards on either side of the doors reminded me that I did not have a choice, so I stood and made my way over to him. We walked in silence for a while before we rounded a corned and he pulled me into a secret passage.
"I know you have no reason to believe me anymore, but I had no idea. I am so sorry for what my family has done to you, for what I have done to you." He pulled a cloak over himself and handed one to me. "Some of the dragon pit handlers are loyal to your mother and when I told them what Aegon had done, they agreed to help you escape. It's this way." He held up a lamp and I followed behind him as we made our way through the passage before finally coming up just outside of the Dragonpit where my beautiful dragon was already waiting. "Go quickly." He said while looking around for other people.
"He's going to kill you when he finds out what you did." I said, causing him to turn to me.
"I know, but I'm going to do my best to stop this war from happening."
"Thank you, Aemond." I truly meant it. For the things he had done, I should hate him, but I could see that he hated himself just as much as I did. He was trying to be different and risking his own life to save mine.
"I am truly sorry." I wanted to hug him, but I was also still so scared, so I just gave him a smile before mounting my dragon and taking off. Aemond had given me enough of a head start that I knew I could make it home, but I still kept going as fast as we could until I landed in the courtyard at Dragonstone.
I must've looked as bad as I felt because the guards rushed me inside and several took off to wake my mother and Uncle, though it was Jace who found me first. As soon as I saw him, I collapsed into sobs. He held me gently as I cried.
"Visenya!" My mothers voice broke halfway through my name and I turned to see her sprinting towards me with my Uncle just behind her.
"I left him. I'm so sorry. I-" My words were incoherent, but she shushed me and pulled me into her arms.
"Oh my sweet girl, it isn't your fault. You're home now. You're safe." I was so exhausted after hugging each member of my family and after some time, my mother sent them off until only Daemon, Jace, Rhaenys, and Corlys remained.
"I know you're tired and hungry, but we have to ask you what happened. Can you tell us?" Daemon asked as I sat next to my mother who hadn't let go of me the entire time.
I nodded and told them everything starting from Luke's death at Storms End, all the way through Aemond helping me escape.
My mother wrapped an arm around my shoulders as I told her what Aegon had done. Jace's face hardened with anger, but Daemon only made on small movement as his hand reached for the hilt of Dark Sister.
"We will speak soon of what we will do, for now, you get some rest." Daemon said, only the slightest edge to his voice.
Corlys and Rhaenys left first. Daemon hugged me and then Jace, each one reminding me how happy they were to have me home. Then, my mother and I left, making our way to my room where a feast was already waiting. She helped me bathe and dress in my own clothes. As I ate, she brushed my hair, softly running a hand over it each time.
"I think Aemond truly was sorry. While I was there he protected me. Thats why Aegon sent him away, I think he knew, Aemond never would've let him hurt me." I said to her.
She sighed, "Aemond is a clever man."
"Alicent said the same of me." She paused for the slightest moment before continuing to brush my hair.
"Do you care for Aemond?" She asked, catching me off guard.
"No, of course not, I just-" I stopped. It was far too complicated to describe how I felt for Aemond. He killed my brother and took me hostage, but maybe a part of me did care for him.
"It isn't anything you need to decide for tonight. For now, you sleep for as long as you wish. You are safe at home." She tucked me into the bed and kissed the top of my head before walking toward the door.
"Wait!" I stopped, feeling too silly to speak my thoughts aloud. I was brave and strong. "Never mind."
My mother smiled knowingly and came back to the bed to lay next to me. She ran her fingers through my hair and softly sang songs of Old Valeryia until I fell asleep.
A/N: Thank you all so much for the support on Part 1. I had no idea so many people would enjoy it! I can continue it if people want that or this could be a good place to end it as well.

You’ve Got A Friend In Me (Aragorn x Female Reader)
Tumblr media
a/n: clara actually posting a one shot??? shocker, right? anyway, i started this months ago and only finished it now. it’s not really x reader, but oh well. also, there may or may not be inspiration taken from to kill a mockingbird. i won’t elaborate and you will see it when you see it. i don’t really see this as a part three of “a change of heart” but you can if you want to. also, don’t question the toy storyesque title.
summary: you’re convicted of a crime you actually didn’t do and all the odds are against you because of your reputation. aragorn is the only one to believe you are innocent and does what he can to help you get cleared of all charges.
word count: 2,1k
warnings: none really other than mentions of murder
During your first meeting, Aragorn prayed to whatever God was up there to have you locked up for your crimes sooner or later. He never thought it would actually happen considering how lousy the whole system was. Yet the wishes he no longer held were answered, which he thought was only done to spite him. When news of the lords declaring you a fugitive, he prayed you would be guided into safety and away from the authorities before asking why they wanted you.
“Do you need to ask?” A considerably young ranger laughed. “That woman is a menace. It was about time those poor souls were brought to justice, and this is long overdue.”
Aragorn growled. “That does not answer my question.”
The young ranger laughed once more, holding up his arms. “Calm down. They say she murdered one of those great lords in cold blood. Witnesses saw her near the castle when all the mess was going on. Can you believe it?”
No, I do not. She would never do that, not anymore.
Finding you wasn’t so difficult anymore. You were a slippery little snake that it took Aragorn a while to master the task of locating you. Today felt strangely easier than it was and he wondered if that was deliberate and you had been hoping he would find you.
You sure did not expect his visit as you aimed your knife at him, the tip close enough to his chin that it made a small cut, but you lowered it the moment you realised who it really was.
“Aragorn? What brings you here?”
“I believe you know what brought me here. Did you do it?”
“Kill the lord? No, though I would love that honour. I cannot tell you I am entirely innocent in this matter.”
You didn’t change entirely, you see. You still took payments (especially when the money came from a high bidder) and you were more than happy to carry out the execution of the worst of men, and the lord was no kind man. He was someone no one wanted to be around and Aragorn didn’t need to be told that you would love to kill him, yet he felt it in him that if you were going to be arrested for any crime, this was not it.
“Well, it doesn’t matter anymore,” you said, turning away from him. “You need to get out of here. I don’t want you seen with me and I most certainly don’t want you to be involved in my problems, so do yourself a favour and save your sorry self from a conviction.”
Aragorn raised a brow. “You involve yourself in my affairs, why can I not do the same?”
You shot him a glare. “That is different, I was helping you. And if-”
“You don’t think I’m helping you? I’m telling you I believe you’re innocent, and no matter what you say to make yourself look bad, I’ll find a way to make sure you’re not tried for anything.”
“Then run away with me.” You offered your hand. “A life in the forests away from the city sounds nice. It’s what I always dreamed of as a young girl.”
If he wasn’t destined for something so big, he would not hesitate to take up your offer. Even then, he imagined a life with you and he believed it to be so cozy and perfect. He was no stranger to waking up beside you and he longed for your company that getting to do it every morning sounded like a utopia.
“I… cannot.”
“Why not? You have nothing going for you. Just the same old rangering, nearly getting yourself killed while the people you protect don’t thank you for your service. Would you prefer a life with me, where we have all the freedom we can get? We can explore the world together, unbounded by expectations and obligations.”
“I may not like what I do, but it is still my duty to protect the men of Bree.”
Hurt, you turned away from him and left. “Well, you made your choice and I have made mine. I am sorry they are incompatible, but there is no use to convince you. I wish you all the luck if there is any left.”
-
Each day, Aragorn misses you, but does not regret not following you. He would kill for you, but he would not pick you over the crown. It was the heaviest price he ever paid in his life and he is sure nothing else can compare.
Over time, his life is the same as it was before he met you. Hunt orcs, occasionally meet Gandalf, return to Rivendell, eat and sleep. Rinse and repeat.
It had been three months, shy of Midsummer when he heard about your whereabouts. Expecting neutral at worst news, he ensured to look like he was not paying attention and almost lost his train of thought when they started to go into more detail.
“Word has it that the woman thought to murder the lord had been found by authorities just last week. She put up a good fight, killing the guards and escaped the first time, but they caught her this time, not without issue though. She’s been brought back here for a trial.”
“Here? Why?” A young man asked, stupidly.
“Because this is where the murder happened,” said the man calmly. “I’m more surprised she’s getting a trial in the first place. Murderers like her deserve a lifetime sentence, plus 150 years, without the possibility of bail. In fact, the guillotine will do.”
A young woman around the same age as you spoke up. “There’s no way she’s getting a sentence lower than that. I mean, she steals a lot, and that’s not worth a death sentence in my book, and all those conspiracy murders everyone spoke of had no evidence, but this one did.”
“So, when is the trial?” The young woman asked.
“In two months time, assuming no delays.”

After a lot of difficult convincing on his end, side eyes he received, and suspicion that he was someone to not be trusted, Aragorn received the location of the maximum security prison and the specific cell you were held at. The guards asked him a lot of questions before letting him see you, let alone giving you privacy.
When you saw him, you shot up and clenched your hands around the bars. A friendly face was long overdue. “It’s over, Strider. No point in making me feel better. I lost the moment they found me and there’s no turning back.”
“Don’t say that. Have some faith in yourself. I know you didn’t do it-“
“And do you have proof for that? God, I’m grateful to have you, and I’m grateful that you believe I didn’t do it, but you’re a delusional man. Go home. Find a woman to fuck, marry and have babies with. Forget about me. You’re smarter than this.”
“I know many people that can help you. I’ve been looking around and speaking to them, and they agreed to look into it. Some of them have been given permission to investigate.”
“Strider.” Only until now did you start crying, and Aragorn never saw you cry. He thought you crying was something he never thought he would see. “Stop that. You don’t have to do that.”
“What friend would I be?”
“You’re risking your own life for me.” You sobbed. “I don’t want you to jeopardise your own life to save mine. Please, stop this, go home. You have nothing to do with this.”
Suddenly, the door opened and two guards roughly grabbed Aragorn and pulled him away. “Time’s up,” one of them gruffly said to him as you mouthed “don’t resist.” He reluctantly listened. He was a lot stronger than everyone here combined and could knock them out in one hit, but if he wanted to finish his plan of ensuring you were proven innocent, beating up the guards was not the way to do it.
Once he was thrown out of the prison, he looked at the architecture and noted how miserable it was. He could tell you were losing your mind each passing minute and only hoped that you would recover as soon as you were released.

One of the people he paid to investigate the lord’s death had summoned him to a private place at night.
“I think you need to hear this. Last night, we went over the body and we discovered enormous hand marks on the victim’s neck and marks on his right eye. The hand prints are too big to belong to a woman and the injuries on his eye could mean a left-handed man did it.”
Aragorn has met women with quite large hands, but the news only confirmed that you didn’t kill him, as he was aware you had small hands. You were also indeed right handed.
“With this proof in mind, it’s hard for me to believe she did it. I don’t know who did it, but I don’t believe it’s her.”
-
Aragorn snuck his way in your trial and watched from above, making sure to keep discreet. After the introduction and overview of your charges, and people fighting it out with you remaining silent, you were suddenly asked a question that piqued his interest.
“Can you read and write?”
“Yes, I can.”
Everyone present stared at each other, muttering amongst each other, shocked that a woman who was most certainly not noble and was uneducated knew how to read and write.
You were asked to write out what the judge said, word by word with both hands. The most eloquent speech with advanced words yet you had no struggle writing them down, with your right hand, confusing everyone.
The man that asked you to write remained calm the entire time, as if he was unsurprised, startling you a bit.
“You see, the woman here wrote with her right hand, with perfect handwriting, while her writing with her left hand is nearly illegible. This could only mean she is right handed. The lord was discovered with bruises on the right side of his face, which if we assume she is the murderer, would be probable if she is left-handed. But she is not.”
“Secondly, there were big handprints around the lord’s neck. The woman here has quite small hands. A woman’s strength could only do so much to try and choke a man let alone with small hands.”
The trial went on and on, but came to an end, a good one, since you were cleared of your charges. Due to the everyone’s shock and confusion, and how the evidence countered their expectations, no one cheered nor jeered at the decision. It was dead silent and everyone left without uttering a single word.
Aragorn only smiled to himself, but his smile fell when you ignored him.

And life in Bree went on.
Everyone spent a week talking about how they had wrong thoughts of you, while others were still convinced you didn’t do it. A couple others just didn’t care and were annoyed to even hear about you. But after a week, the chatter all died down and everyone minded their own business, unless it was something about their married neighbor beginning an affair with another woman.
Aragorn found you at your place, cleaning your home with a lot of things packed.
“Going somewhere?”
“Finishing what I did not get to,” you said, not looking at him. “Why are you here?”
“I wanted to see if you are well.”
“I am… well, I suppose. I’m not in a shitty cell with a similar embodiment to hell anymore.”
“I don’t expect a thanks or-”
“Thank you,” you suddenly said, finally facing him. “I’m sorry for doubting you. I really did think it was over for me.”
“I don’t blame you for doubting me, but I am your friend. You helped me before and it’s about time I returned the favour.”
“I am still going away for a while. I do not think I want to come back to Bree after a short time with everything that has happened. I understand you do not want to come with me, but I will come back, I promise.”
“About that. I think I decided that I do want to travel with you. It’s that this time, we’re not running away from something terrible.”
You ran towards him to give him a hug, perhaps the biggest hug he ever had in his life, and he heard you start to cry again. This time, you were not crying out of desperation.
No, you were crying of happiness. Happiness because you get to travel around the world with your favourite person, and the only person in your life left that mattered.
