Just saw a post that made the comment "I'm sure you've all seen Barbie by now"
You mean the movie that is still only in theaters and hasn't been released for streaming or download anywhere yet?
Bro (gender neutral), some of us are still hiding from covid!

✶Surely, when two friends set up their two friends on a blind date in the very small town of Hawkins, they make sure those two people don't know each other beforehand, right? And, more importantly, aren't coworkers, right?✶

Chapter 3: The Accidental First Date
“Is this too much?” you asked, yanking down the visor and checking yourself in the small mirror.
Sitting in the back parking lot of the movie theater, you went through your purse for the finishing touches on your look. Doing your last paranoia check for anything in your teeth, turning your head this way and that to zhuzh your hair, and most importantly, preening your oxymoron of a sweater to show a decent amount of cleavage without flashing the cups of your push-up bra.
Truly a walking contradiction of a top. Cable knit and warm, but with a plunging neckline, to where the top button started at your sternum.
“No, you look hot,” Robin assured with her goofy smile. “New York modest is Hawkins slutty. He’s gonna love you.”
You shrank into your girlish giggle. “Good, I want my dating debut in this little town to be a statement. Set the stage for future escapades.. Until I run out of men, I guess. Seriously, how many bachelors live here and aren’t total hicks? Four?” Robin laughed.
“Could be worse. You could be a lesbian.”
“True,” you concurred. “Good thing you have Vickie. Sucks she couldn’t come tonight.” Robin made a sad huff of agreement, working a mascara wand through her lashes. “Hey, I know I said ‘yes’ without asking, but is this guy you set me up with even my type? Not that I care, obviously; a good story is a good story, but I’m just trying to set my expectations here.”
She furrowed her eyebrows dramatically, and paused unscrewing her lip gloss to rock her entire body into a positive affirmation–almost bumping her forehead on the steering wheel from the force of her nodding. “Oh, absolutely,” she said emphatically. “Looks scary on the outside, but is a total sweetheart on the inside. Overconfident, and obnoxious, but in that charming, swoony way.”
“Perfect!” You clasped your hands together.
Stepping out of the car, she waited for you so you could walk with your arms linked together, and she continued, “I haven’t seen him in years, but Steve was telling me over the phone that he’s been going through a tough time, and hasn’t been on a date in a while.”
“Aw, poor guy.”
There was a beat of silence where both of your faces twisted into knowing smiles.
“I know what that look means..” Robin led, canting her head to you.
Innocent, you lifted your shoulder in a coy shrug, bringing a collection of her soft hair up to your chin. “No idea what you’re talking about. I was just thinking, if he hasn’t been on a date in a while.. Why not make it memorable for him?”
You laughed together, rounding the sidewalk to the front entrance of the theater where the glamorous marquee shined gentle daylight upon the darkened street. Romantic and intimate, with a crowd of people standing in vague suggestions of lines; some broken off, gossiping, smoking.
“There they are,” Robin whispered, letting go of your upper arm to wave at Nancy–who you had met at the grocery store last week. She saw you approaching, and tapped her hand on the chest of the man beside her.
Still a considerable distance away, you peered at him, and placed his luscious hair in your memory. “Oh, that’s the guy who came to the shop today.”
“Steve?”
“Yeah, he was talking to the annoying mechanic I’m always telling you about.”
“The one you have a crush on?”
“Shush,” you bristled at the mention of your not-so-secret. “I do not have a crush on Eddie. Anyway! Did I tell you what he did this morning? He fuckin’ stood outside the window next to my desk, just out of my view for like, full on minutes, waiting for me to look at him. Like Michael Myers or some shit. Scared me half to death.”
Robin, still caught on one detail you had somehow failed to mention in the month you worked at the auto body shop, quietly asked, “..Eddie?”
“Yeah, my coworker,” you answered, not looking at her when she fell a step behind, since you were too focused on greeting Nancy, and introducing yourself to Steve to notice her sudden jog up behind you. Too fixated on complimenting Nancy’s skirt to witness the way Steve aimed his confused frown just past your shoulder. Missed his dismissive hand gestures, and Robin’s panic as she tried to wordlessly communicate something dire to him.
You were too busy listening to the cars cruise by on the street, and chatting casually, and savoring the warmth of a new friendship to scrutinize the sound of quick footsteps from the other direction, or the jangle of metal chains attached to their presence, or Robin’s damning groan.
“Sorry, I’m–” a familiar voice said. A bit nasally and on the higher side. Mirthful, awake with youth, and excited to make a good first impression.
You turned to them. Your date.
“..Late,” they trailed off.
Deer in headlights. Big, brown doe-eyes wide with surprise, framed by beautiful black lashes.
He stared at you.
His stomach sank.
You stared at him.
Your heart raced.
Eddie had stopped mid-step with his hand raised in greeting. The chains on his leather jacket tinkered until they stilled. Kind smile frozen from a better time. Chest filled with a held breath. Presenting himself with his best foot forward, and now his ears were tinted with the embarrassment of trying too hard to impress.
Oh, God.
You blinked away, and were intentional to accept the situation for what it was without showing your surprise, opting for a simple, timid, awkward, shaky, exhaled, “Hey, Eddie.”
He wasn’t so poised.
Shutting his eyes, he allowed the realization to wash over him, scrunching his face in a pained expression as the puzzle pieces slotted into place. He hung his head, and released his breath through his nose. “Your roommate is Robin,” he stated, pointing at her to punctuate his sentence. “And you call her Bobbie.”
“Yeah..” It was an apology as much as it was a confirmation.
“You still call me Bobbie?” Robin asked, tugging on your sleeve, forgetting the tense air surrounding the group for the moment. “I haven’t used that stage name in years.”
“Guess it stuck with me..”
Thankfully, someone else added to the conversation. Unfortunately, that person was Steve addressing the elephant outside the ticket booth.
“So, I take it you two know each other,” he deduced, looking from Eddie’s dejected gaze at the ground, to you wringing your purse strap over your chest.
Eddie enlightened him in a solemn tone, sparing a single glance at his friend, “She’s the receptionist at work.”
“Ah.” He turned his attention to Robin. “You set up two people who work together.”
She threw her hands up and blamed him, “Uh! No way, dunce, don’t put this on me. This whole thing was your idea, and at no point in the conversation did you tell me Eddie was a mechanic! If you had told me he was a mechanic I probably could’ve put two-and-two together myself, and avoided setting up people who see each other every day.”
Increasingly red-faced, Steve very pointedly avoided Eddie’s suspicious squint after being outed as the one who set up the date, not Nancy. “You’re the one who lives with her, how could you not–?”
“Okay!” You clapped once to end their bickering. “Then it’s not a date.”
Nancy, bless her, picked up her improv skills fast. “Yeah! Not a date. Just a casual outing between friends. Steve, get the tickets ready so we can get popcorn before the line gets too long.” There was a ripple of unanimous murmurs, followed by shuffling to the entrance.
“Silver lining,” Nancy muttered out the side of her mouth to Steve, “It’s a movie date, so it’s not like they have to talk to, or look at each other.”
Steve tempered his laugh to a hiss and held the door for Robin, who in turn kept the it ajar behind her for you, but as you went to catch it, it was opened for you.
Clack- clack- clack. You’d heard the sound every morning; his distinct rings on the metal frame of the glass door beside your desk, followed by his soft grunt when pulling it open. But whereas his whispered ‘morning’ normally echoed in the tiled lobby, it was now on the back of your neck, fanning your skin, and it wasn’t a sweet greeting, but a reserved, solemn, regretful, sad, “Sorry for.. yeah.” That’s how he started your date that wasn’t a date. With an apology. And still, as the crisp autumn air was replaced by the humid waft of buttery popcorn, your brain was stuck at the garage, filling in the drag of his heavy work boots on the way to the breakroom for coffee, and the lingering scent of cigarette smoke trailing his stride.
Except, as you were jolted back to reality, you came to know he didn’t present himself so generically outside the context of motor oil. Due to the traffic clogging around the ticket ripper, Eddie ran into you and you discovered the nuances of what he smelled like when not at work, with the added intimacy of his chest pressed to your back.
Worn leather enveloped by notes of vanilla musk cologne. Spicy deodorant carried by the sweet earthy tang of tobacco. Dove White on his heated skin, and Dawn on his hands.
A symphony you could immerse yourself in learning for hours if it wasn’t for the crime of your group moving forward.
“Did you want anything?” Eddie asked you, pointing at the concessions.
“Oh, no, I’m good.” You made a clawing gesture at your mouth. “Eating popcorn before the movie even starts because I have no self control and then being forced to sit there with kernels in my teeth drives me nuts.”
Not finding you as endearing as you intended, he slipped his hands into his pockets, and motioned for both of you to stand off to the side, out of the way while you waited for the others to get their snacks. And he just stood there. Not saying anything. You were turned to him as if to carry a conversation, but his gaze was set ahead; not on anything in particular, just away from you.
Rarely had his face been this slack, this devoid of emotion. Even when doing menial work like filling out invoices for parts you would need to order, there was activity. Liveliness in the tic of his eyes reading lines on the paper. Movement of his tongue sliding across his top lip. A subtle crease between his brows. Something. Anything.
You spoke above the giggly teenagers sneaking into the film next door, “For a stick in the mud, you look nice.” He really did, in his well-loved jacket draping his frame after years of being broken in to perfection. Tight black jeans. Sensible boots. More accessories than just his rings.
Try as he might to cut you an unamused look, his freshly washed hair bounced in immaculate waves around his face, catching the low mood lighting like a messy halo.
“Thanks,” he said, not meaning it.
“I can see why you don’t get many dates if you always look this miserable.”
“I’m not miserable.”
“Glum, then? Woebegone? Hapless? Crestfallen?” When he seemed hellbent on wishing he were anywhere else, you eased up on your act. Harboring the pit of rejection eating away at your stomach, you pried, “Disappointed?”
The glimpse of vulnerability in your words was not lost on him.
He snapped to, shaking himself out of his funk to reassure you in his gentle timbre amongst the chaos of someone beating the top score on the pinball machine, “I’m not disappointed to be here with you.”
“Then what are you?”
“Sorry,” he guessed, shrugging. He was the type to speak with his hands, moving them despite being confined to his pockets. “I’m sorry our friends suck at communicating and this is how your night turned out; you being here with me when you were clearly expecting someone else.” His gaze didn’t dare dip lower than your nose, but the effort you put into your appearance did not go unnoticed. It wasn't the first time he stared a little too directly into your eyes after you decided to stop covering yourself up.
“I don’t go on dates intending to find my one true love or anything lame like that,” you said, honestly. “I go on them to have fun, and I think we can still have fun, even if we have to share the same tiny lunch table come Monday, and we side-eye Carl for bringing tuna again.” He almost smiled at that.
Sensing he needed another boost of confidence, you kept going, “Before I knew it was you, Robin was talking you up in the car. Going on about how my date was some sweet guy, super handsome, and with a heart of gold. You know, the Prince Charming type. Oh, and totally obnoxious too. Real loudmouth who never shuts up.”
Okay, maybe some of that was ad libbed, but you wanted to know how much of it was true.
Eddie shifted from foot to foot, subduing his grin by biting his tongue, literally. “That’s a pretty apt way to describe me back in high school, yeah, especially with how I’m dressed.”
“What changed?”
“Uh, I had a kid,” he laughed. “She stole all my charm. I swear Adrie can talk me into anything.”
“I think you’re just a pushover.”
“Probably,” he surrendered. Raising his brows, he mused aloud one of the many things on his mind, “Do you not agree that she described me accurately? Sweet Prince Charming guy, all that?”
There was no way in hell you were going to speak your truth. Instead, you smirked. “I don’t think you want to know what adjectives I’d use to describe you.” They were far too vulgar to utter in a crowded room. Hot in the most annoying way. Absolute pain in my ass. Just the worst, especially when I don’t hear you sneak up behind me in the kitchen, and you think it’s funny to scare me right as I open my drink from the Coke machine, and you laugh your stupid laugh when I drop it. An absolute eye-sore when you look up at me while you're on your hands and knees cleaning up the mess you created. Irritatingly handsome when you grin and buy me another one.
Ignorant to your private thoughts, he swung his elbow out to push you, and smiled.
Relaxing into the natural lull in conversation, you both watched your friends make it to the front of the line and order their food. They waited at the counter, starting the clock on when they would inevitably make it back to the two of you, and cease your alone time with Eddie. (Although, first, they’d have to traverse an entire bucket of dropped popcorn, and navigate around more than one group of children reenacting a fight scene they just watched on the big screen.)
“Were you disappointed I was your date?” you asked.
Robin was right. Eddie was a sweetheart. As soon as he detected an inkling of insecurity–whether it be in your strained voice, or etched into your face, or imbued in the question itself–he was quick to absolve your worry.
“No, no,” he said. “Relieved, if I’m being honest.”
“Relieved?” You weren’t expecting that.
“There’s a reason I haven’t dated since having Adrie. It didn’t sound like Steve made it clear to.. you, well, my anonymous date which happened to be you. Jesus, this is confusing. Whatever, you know what I mean, he didn’t say if he told my would-be date that I’m a dad, and I was afraid of coming here and having to tell them myself. Even if we hit it off, it’s a deal breaker for some people, y’know? Not that I blame them. I would’ve said the same thing five years ago.”
You nodded as you listened to him. “Never thought about it from that perspective. All my dates have been one-and-dones. Super casual. Kids were never really brought up.”
“Yeah, the dating world isn’t always so gracious. I’m kinda glad I’m here with you–someone who knows me, at least.”
Out of the corner of your eye, you spied Steve raising his sodas above his head as two boys ran past him, pretending they were in a shootout.
Knowing he wouldn’t have time to respond, you informed Eddie, “You’re worrying about the wrong thing. Adrie’s an angel. You should be more concerned about your curmudgeonly attitude being a deal breaker.” His narrowed-eye glare had never felt so sweet.
Robin’s giddy presence became known. She dropped her chin to your shoulder with a satisfied hum, and wrapped her arm around your waist to hug you snug to her body. You laid your head on top of hers, swaying with her.
She must’ve made a face at Eddie, because a different emotion flinched across his features, and he was back to avoiding making eye contact.
You, however, were more enticed by the drink in her hand than analyzing his change in demeanor. “Shit, now I want an Icee.”
“Yeah, I got cherry,” she said, angling the straw towards you. “They have Coke too–Okay, bye, dork,” she giggled after you.
“Go ahead and sit without me! I want an Icee.” Nancy clutched the largest size of popcorn to her chest to avoid spilling it as you stumbled out of Robin’s hold and darted for the concession stand.
Eddie raised his voice, “You couldn’t have decided that five minutes ago when I asked?”
“Nope!”
————
The theater for the low budget horror flick reflected the town’s perception of it. As soon as the heavy door closed behind you, your footsteps on the dense carpet echoed around the empty room. Your group was sitting in the back row, and their murmurs could be heard from the bottom.
You climbed up to them and flumped into the seat next to Eddie. “We can share,” you said excitedly, shaking the drink at him before placing it in the cupholder at the end of the single armrest.
When the subtle pinch of concern around his eyes remained, you promised him you didn’t have cooties.
He played with his rings, pulling them down the length of his fingers and spinning them while he worked through his confusion. “You don’t have to sit next to me.. You can sit next to Robin.” He motioned beside him, to Steve munching on his popcorn while Nancy held it, and Robin whispering on the end, rolling her eyes at something Nancy said.
“Why wouldn’t I sit next to you?”
Eddie’s mouth opened and closed, struggling to settle on what he wanted to say, and finishing with a submissive shrug, leather jacket groaning at the act. He bounced his foot quicker, shaking the aglets on his laces against his boot in a chaotic rhythm. “Dunno..”
“You’re silly. I’d pinch your cheek if I didn’t think you’d bite me.” He reeled at that, and you giggled. You didn’t mind making him balk at your weird quirks; whatever put him at ease. Rather, whatever made him stop rubbing his knee against yours, because you were certain the friction was about to cause a fire.
Digging through your purse, you took out a rectangular box and slid your finger under the flap, popping it open and dumping a handful of candy into your palm. You threw it back into your mouth. “Want sh-ome?” you chewed, offering the box to him.
“Who the hell eats Mike and Ikes?”
“Uh, me, jerk.” Right as the lights dimmed to pitch black, and the curtains drew back from the screen, you hit him with the most exaggerated pout. “I only eat them at the movies. They’re a ritual, and you’re rude.” The shadows lining his face twisted into a deeper grin. “Are you more of a chocolate guy?”
“Maybe,” he answered like he was suspicious of your motives.
And maybe he should be. Afterall, you committed the number one sin when it came to cinemas.
“Looks like I chose right,” you said, reaching into your purse and pulling out a Kit Kat. “I was hoping my date would be a chocolate sorta guy–” You went quiet seeing his eyes widen a touch. “I mean, not date. Begrudging coworker? Tentative acquaintance?”
“Reluctant friend,” he answered smoothly, taking the package from you and ripping it open with his teeth.
~~~
Trailers for other films played, bathing the room in flickers of light interrupting the darkness. The opening credits began. Your candy was half-eaten. His was devoured. You took a sip of your Icee, and from the vantage point of pressing your back into the cheap theater seat, you observed him in your periphery.
His gaze hardly left the drink. Your offer to share it gnawed at him in a visible way. Scoping out the straw, the possible trace of spit you left behind, the possible trace of spit he’d leave behind. He peered at the screen to acknowledge the intro, and then back down it was, boring holes into the Icee.
You were no better, nibbling at your lips when he finally caved and took a sip–all too quick, and clumsy, almost missing the cup holder when he put it back down with lightning speed.
The edge of your thighs touched under the arm rest; worse so, when you folded one leg under you, and leaned into him. “Do you hate it when people talk during movies?”
“Not these kind.” He meant the genre in general, which made for great fodder for ripping apart in friend groups, but another popular trope among this realm of fiction became apparent. The first set of tits flashed on screen, and you both found yourselves lacking in the commentary department.
After a moment, you tilted your head. “That actress looks familiar..”
“She’s been in other cult classics. Always acts with her eyebrows.” He turned to you and nudged your shoulder, vying for your full attention. He emphasized the end of each word with an inflection as if it were a question, and raised his eyebrows in every way possible, mocking her slowly, “She’s the one who always talks like this–!” He looked crazy contorting his face to make his point.
“That’s it!” You snapped. “Her wearing glasses really threw me off.”
“Mhm.” His hum vibrated along your upper arm pressed to his, and he asked quietly under the screams of the first gorey death, “Do you like B movies?”
“Hell yeah. Back home they would play them at this rooftop drive in place. I rarely paid to watch them, though. The next building over had a good view of the projector screen.”
His banter dropped in favor of chewing on the corner of his thumb. If it wasn’t for the wild change in scenery cast across his face, you could’ve sworn his faint smile faltered into inscrutability.
Did you say something wrong?
————
“Damn, that was a cool practical effect,” Eddie complimented the purplish fizzing ooze that once was a person.
“I know, right? That’s why I love these bad movies. There’s no budget for good CGI, so they have to do creative stuff like that.”
It was inevitable. Bound to happen. A mere act of fate. Stars aligning in the close knit group leaning forward to exchange witty quips about the hare-brained plot holes in the movie, and not minding their surroundings except to receive everyone’s laughter, making jokes at the expense of the bad acting.
Steve was asking a question that was technically answered by the movie’s lore if he’d paid attention to the dialogue during the second gratuitous stripping scene. You or Eddie could have answered, but Robin took it upon herself to explain, and you two nodded along.
Absentminded, you reached for the Icee.
Distracted, Eddie reached for the Icee.
The waxed paper cup was cold under your fingers, but your hand was blanketed by warmth.
Slow to process, you both glanced down at the reason why neither of you were achieving your goal, and the overload of sensory inputs faded away to one: touch.
Your thumb was trapped under his palm, and his fingers stretched around the cup, meeting yours on the other side and housing them beneath his in a steady amount of pressure. They were almost interlocking. Holding. Wrist on top of wrist–his with the extra harshness of his leather and chain bracelet on your skin. The heaviness of his forearm resting on yours.
Truly, the accident lasted all of two pumps of your heart, but it felt like more when he stroked his calloused fingertips over your knuckles as he let go.
“Sorry!” he blurted.
“S-Sorry,” you laughed, jittery from the encounter.
Your cheeks were hot. His were flushed red. The lewd moaning of a woman feigning to orgasm just from the male lead removing her bra alone played in the background. Neither of you could decide which plan of escape was less embarrassing: continuing to stare like idiots at each other, or watch the actress’ ginormous boobs bounce as she faked riding a guy.
You blinked. His eyebrows ticced up.
Boobs it was.
He adjusted how he sat, tugging his jeans down his legs a little, and crossing his arms. Eyes laser focused on the woman’s face. The why was obvious, and you couldn’t help but tease him for pretending to be a gentleman in your company when you held no such modesty when it came to ogling her tits.
“Thinking about how much Aquanet she uses?”
“Shut up.”
————
Later into the film, after the plot circled back to the juicy gore, you leaned into Eddie to ask him a question.
What that question was, you couldn’t remember.
As soon as you placed your elbow on the armrest and used the back of your hand to tap his shoulder, he dipped his head to hear you. It was an automatic thing starting from the moment you slouched in your seat. That’s all. A shift in your sitting position and intake of breath, and he knew you were going to speak, and he wanted to listen. He cared about what you had to say. He leaned into you as well, because listening to you took priority over the movie.
“Eddie?” You sought any words. Any words at all. Any would do. Any question, even if you knew the answer. “Uhm. The music sounds really familiar. Do you recognize it?”
“It’s the same composer as Chopping Mall and Deathstalker II.”
“Ah.”
Ah. All you could muster when you were charmed by the silhouette of his lips moving. Watching them form letters, pout on the plosives, press into a line on his thick swallow.
Ah. All you could say when his hair brushed over your fingers. Dry, in need of a deep conditioning. Curling around your forefinger. Tickling your palm.
Ah. All you could respond with when you lifted your gaze, and caught him staring at you like you stared at him.
————
As predicted, the filmmakers padded the runtime with another topless scene, and the movie ended on a witty one liner that included not one, but two puns, and no resolution to the numerous plot threads left hanging.
“That was.. certainly something!” Robin summed up, holding the doors open to the subdued hours of the night.
Once outside in the fresh air, the dynamic reverted back to its original status.
Your friends made themselves scarce in the worst way; whistling, shuffling to the side as they found asinine things to comment on, leaving you and Eddie alone. Their intentions were pure, but reality was not so kind.
Eddie cemented his gaze on the sidewalk as he picked at his callouses, and apologized for the mistake of going out with you. Again. “Sorry about all this.”
Itchy sweat broke out across your back. It sucked he was so brazen about rejecting you. You had  hoped some of the tender crush you had on him extended past the armrest you shared, the looks you shared, the touches you shared; but maybe you were just tricking yourself into finding things that weren’t there.
Wanting to end on a better note, you appealed to him in a last ditch effort to smooth over the situation, “I meant it when I said you looked good tonight. It’s nice to see you outside of your work clothes.”
“Thanks.”
That’s all. Thanks. A shy glance from beneath his curtain of messy hair, and a somber tone to maximize the awkwardness of the not-date with your coworker.
You needed to get the hell out of there. “See you Monday?”
“Yeah, see you Monday.”
The group winced in unison when they saw the way you two departed.
Robin was quick to link her arm with yours and gather you closer, bringing your heads together to gossip as you walked back to her car. “That bad, huh?”
Around the corner and out of sight, you gave her half a smile, trying to appear in better spirits. “Well, I don’t think he likes me. He didn’t return any of my compliments, and he apologized for being on a date with me no less than four times over the course of the evening.”
She cringed for you. “That’s worse than Balloon Guy, isn’t it?”
“Yeah,” you said, remembering what would go down in history as the shittiest date you’d been on. “Yeah, that’s more times than Balloon Guy.” Robin hugged you tighter, making your steps go clumsy. She apologized for Eddie’s weirdness, but you shrugged. Maybe you were supposed to find it weird, too. Maybe you were supposed to disapprove of the idea of romantic feelings for your coworker, too. Maybe you were supposed to have no expectations for it to lead anywhere, too.
Maybe you were supposed to reject him, too.
————
Still loitering outside the theater, Steve exchanged a look with Nancy, and jogged to catch up with Eddie before he made it too far in the opposite direction.
“Uh, hey buddy!” Steve clapped him on the shoulder to stop him. “It sounded like you two were hitting it off during the movie, what happened?”
Eddie sulked under the question. His chest fell with a surrendering sigh, and his boots scraped the concrete as he turned to him, not bothering to mask the dullness in his slack expression. Everything about him was tired, including his voice when he slipped into a lower, raspy octave. “She’s nice, but..”
“But what?” Nancy asked, searching his face.
Bottling his burdens, he clenched his teeth, and worked his jaw as he contemplated evading their insistent prying; but after ruminating on it, he explained the source of his problems, “She lives a very.. whimsy life.” He fluttered his hand like a bird flapping its wings, or a butterfly. “She does this thing where she says ‘yes’ to anything anyone asks her; it’s why she moved to Hawkins, and why she ended up on this date to begin with. Y’know, just doing whatever seems like fun. It’s cute, in a way, and obviously I.. feel a way towards her, but this place isn’t where she’s looking to lay down roots. New York is her home.”
Steve squeezed his shoulder, knowing what was about to come.
“I’ve already been left for someone better.. I can’t go through that again.” Eddie’s eyes begged them to understand. “I don’t want Adrie to get attached to someone who’s just gonna leave.”
Nancy started, “Eddie–You don’t know if she’d leave.”
He shook his head, and pulled away from Steve’s lingering grasp. Shushed his friend’s well-meaning words about him being valued, and to forget his insecurities about not being good enough.
“A girl like that doesn’t need me weighing her down,” Eddie said, imparting the wisdom he’d come to accept since you made a mark on his life weeks ago, when it became your mission to befriend him. “I’ll pick up Adrie in the morning. Thanks for watching her.”
The night got darker as he left.
Darker still, when Steve waved at his back, and Nancy played with the locket around her neck, and her goodbye went disregarded.
————
Silence.
It surrounded him. Blood pulsing in his ears, his heart beat, the refrigerator hum, the tink of glass bottles as he grabbed the full six pack and brought it to the couch, springs squeaking under his weight.
Utter emptiness welcomed him.
Not a sound in his home. Not a giggle from his daughter, or scrape of a skillet from Wayne’s makeshift breakfast-dinner before he went to work. Even the dogs around the trailer park were quiet.
Just.. nothing.
It was what he wanted, right? A night to himself; a break from the chores, the questions, the food making, the taking care of a tiny human being who made everything tougher than it needed to be.
He got his wish.
Two beers down in peace, he got his wish.
Eddie looked around his trailer lit by the single lamp beside him.
Quiet, empty, nothing.
Dark silence.
The jolt of his sob startled him. It erupted from his chest so suddenly. Ripped from the tightness of repressed emotions; the things he tried to deny, to feel and then lock away. To keep safe, buried down deep where he could manage them from progressing past the boundaries he created for his own good, and Adrie’s. He felt the agony of them all at once. The morning smiles, the afternoon laughs, the evenings of pretending you didn’t plan to bump into each other in the doorway to the lobby. The game of seeing how long he could watch you twirl the phone cord around your finger before you looked up from your desk. Your sweet way of comforting him after the hard nights of Adrie’s sleep regression by taking his tan work jacket and draping it over his shoulders while he slept at the lunch table in the break room. Your gentle method of fixing his collar when it was tucked on the inside of his coveralls.
The date was too good to be true.
In fact, the truth itself was far more painful.
The date was amazing. He couldn’t remember a time in his life when he had more fun. More thrills, sure. But not more fun. There wasn’t a day in his youth where he experienced more of the flirty thrum in his veins than when he committed himself to learning the way your lips moved when saying his name in the darkened theater.
The date was perfect. He was happy. And he couldn’t have it again. Shouldn’t have it again. Wouldn’t have these feelings again.
Eddie doubled over and put his third beer on the floor before he spilled it. Nothing was discernible beyond the water invading his ability to see, to fathom his reflection in the old TV. Sad, miserable, and lonely. An idiot for finally getting attached to someone, and it was someone he wasn’t supposed to.
Tears slipped from between his lashes. He smeared them on his cheeks, covering his sweaty face from his possessions bearing witness to his stupidity.
It was in his best interest to reject you–reject your casual stance on dating, and relationships, and people with kids–but the face you made when your advances went underappreciated churned his stomach.
He needed to be stronger. But he was weak.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” he sighed into the stale air. Opening another beer, he nursed it as he huddled into the corner of the couch, and searched for Adrie’s quilt to soothe him. But of course, he sent it with her when he dropped her off at Steve’s.
No baby blanket to hold onto. No Adrienne to sleep on his chest to ease the pain of loneliness. No reason to look forward to Monday after he royally screwed everything up.
“Goddamnit,” he groaned.
Maybe, if he apologized enough, there was a chance you wouldn’t hate him.
Maybe, if you forgave him, you’d go back to the morning smiles, and the afternoon laughs.
And maybe, if he was enough of a masochist, he’d let you gently ease past those boundaries meant to keep you, and your kindness out. If you wanted to trespass, that is. He didn’t know. He was an idiot.
RO's & Other Major Characters
Cameron "Cam" Morris (M/F) [RO]- Tech-savvy and mechanically minded, Cam is currently working as a mechanic after you and your group broke up, they are currently going to grad school for mechanical engineering, and still sends postcards and pictures to you. They are likely the sweetest person you have ever met, even if sometimes they are too kind to people who don't deserve it. Out of the four of you, Cam was always the one who needed to do what was right, no matter the cost to their self.
Ollie Cohen-Reyes (NB) [RO]- Ollie has always been interested in macabre and strange, spending hours researching in the library any and every topic they were interested in. They get along with very few people, but once they are able to get close with others it becomes easier, and they become sarcastic and witty, and feel less uncomfortable talking about their interests freely. They work as an adjunct professor in forensic anthropology.
Rose/Rory Thompson(M/F) [RO]- They are a loyal person, first and foremost. When the group broke up they somewhat lost their purpose, but they ended up settling and working as a bartender in Misty Cove. Having taken boxing and self-defense classes from a young age due to their paranoid parents, R was always the best when it came to physical confrontation with the cases you investigated, even if outside of this they never seemed like someone who had that much power. They have become far more aggressive and assertive than the person you knew as a child, now having the attitude to match their technical know-how.
Terra Clarke (F) [RO]- You originally knew her by a different name, but she started transitioning early on life, and Terra is the only name you can remember now. Normally when you say it it's followed by an eye roll. Terra was never someone you got along with when you lived in Misty Cove. She was always very antagonistic towards you and your friends, but a lot has changed since the last time you saw her. She now owns her Grandpa's diner, and tries to take good care of the people of the town, especially since the mayor won't do much. She is always exhausted now, but is very happy to see a familiar face, even if your history is muddied because of both of your actions.
Randall 'Randy' Clarke - Terra's grandfather and former owner of "Randy's Diner" always very kind to you and your friends, even if you all never got along with Terra.
Ana Lloyd - (pronounced AH-na) current mayor and overall very unprepared for her job.
Mrs. Candace Talbot- Your former English teacher from high school, you never got along with her that well.
Dorothy Giles- Your co-worker, likely the only one in your office who cares about her job.
(most things are subject to change throughout the games development)
Steve sniffled as he cleaned off Eddie's gravestone once again. The town had been saved, the crack closed, and somehow Vecna had been defeated. No one really knew what happened. Only that a mysterious figure with wings had saved their asses. El was still trying to find them, but they were hiding themselves pretty well. Hopper believed he slunk back into the Upside Down before it closed, but no one else believed that, especially Dustin. He didn't say it outloud, but he knew the kid believed that it had somehow been Eddie. Steve didn't want to discourage him or get his hopes up. He didn't know what to do.
All he could do now was to keep cleaning Eddie's headstone. Edward Munson: Now At Peace. Yeah, right. People keep spray painting "burn in hell" across the headstone. He didn't deserve this. . . Even in death, they were still fucking with him. Steve let out a strangled yell and threw the rag.
"It's not fucking fair!" Steve snapped.
Steve breathed heavily and pinched the bridge of his nose. He stared at the headstone and did some breathing exercises to help calm him down. Now would be the perfect time to tell him everything, at least, Robin said it would help.
"I never got to really know you, man," Steve said. "And I really wish that I did, though. I wish I could see you play that guitar even at the Hideout. . .to see you up on that stage. I kind of wanted to see you graduate, too. I would have loved to see you give Higgins the finger. I always hated that guy. Fucking asshole. I would have loved to see you DM up on your throne. I'm not sure I would be able to play, I honestly would have gotten distracted. I wish I knew more than that, though. Like, what's your favorite song? Your favorite movie? Your favorite color, man? I don't know. . .anything. I wish you were here to tell me. I just wish. . ."
He stood there for a moment as though he were expecting an answer. Steve sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He went to reach for the rag, but someone beat him to it. A man with a hat over his head and sunglasses on his face was kneeling in front of Eddie's grave. Steve had no clue who it was.
"Let me help, son," the man said in a deep southern accent.
Steve had been spending enough time with Wayne and Dustin to realize that this man sounded an awful lot like Wayne with his accent. He knew it wasn't Wayne, though, because this man was too young and he knew that Wayne was working.
"You didn't do this, did you?" Steve asked.
"I just want to help, boy," the man said. "A handsome man like Eddie Munson doesn't deserve this. Although, I guess you could say he is hot as hell."
"That's a weird thing to say about a dead guy," Steve said, scrunching up his nose. "Did you know him?"
"You could say that. You could also say that I knew him a little too well," he said. "I kind of overheard your speech there, son. I can answer some of those questions for you, ya know?"
"I - would like that," Steve said softly as he grabbed the extra rag and knelt down to clean up the headstone.
"Well, most people would think differently about his favorite song. He loved the song Rolling Stone by Muddy Waters. His mama would teach him how to dance to that song. Sometimes, she would place him on her feet. He loves red, but he also loves the color blue," the man said. "He loves Conan the Barbarian. He used to sneak into the theater with his best friend, Ronnie."
"Ronnie?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, she was the first friend he ever made, and she was never more than his best friend despite him making an embarrassing move on her," he chuckled.
"That sounds familiar," Steve laughed. "He told you all this?"
"In a way," he said. "Ronnie showed him the way into leading lost sheep. His uncle gave him the kick in the ass he needed into not giving a fuck what other people thought of him. He still had some learning to do. He was kind of queer in the head, though, despite all of that."
"What? Who cares what he was into?" Steve scoffed. "Are you seriously judging him on that? I'm queer in the head myself."
"Wait, hold on, son. I ain't judging him for that, and you do know that queer also means weird, right?" The man asked.
"Yeah. . .I mean, I forgot," Steve stuttered.
"Should I just forget that you came out to a complete stranger, son? Doesn't matter, I didn't have a problem with Eddie being like that," he said, and then he dropped the accent. "I can't believe you did that!"
He dropped the hat and the sunglasses, slapping his knees as he stood up. Steve gaped up at him. His hair was cut short, but he would recognize those dimples anywhere. He was grinning wildly down at Steve.
"Eddie?!" Steve choked and he stood up.
"Hey, Stevie," Eddie said.
It was the first time he had called him that, and it made his stomach flutter. His brain tried so hard to comprehend that it was Eddie, but he looked so drastically different without his hair that he couldn't really focus. He noticed that he was also wearing a hoodie and a polo that looked awfully familiar.
"Hey, that's my polo," Steve said.
"Yeah, I broke into your house," Eddie said. "I wanted to look the least like myself."
"Why?" Steve asked.
"So, that people won't try to murder me, Steven," Eddie said.
"No, I mean, I get that. Why the deception?" He asked.
"Hi, I'm Eddie Munson. I like to be dramatic," he said, and he held out his hand. "Go ahead, take it."
Steve wrapped his hand around Eddie's like he was shaking his hand. His skin was cool to the touch, and Steve couldn't help but stare at it.
"You're real," he whispered.
"Very," he grinned.
"Why is your hand so cold?" Steve asked.
"I'm vampire now so. . . ," Eddie said, shaking his head from side to side.
"You were the mysterious figure that destroyed Vecna," Steve said in realization.
"He tried to make me his little bitch. Wanted me to do all his dirty work and kill of you," Eddie scoffed and rolled his eyes. "No thanks. I can't even clean my room when my uncle asks, and I love the man. Do you think I'm going to kill people I care about for someone I hate? Yeah, no."
"You saved us. You saved this town despite the fact that they hate you for no goddamn reason," Steve said.
"Well, my dad conned half the town, so yeah," Eddie shrugged, and then his eyes lit up. "Oh, I saved Higgins! You should have seen the egg on his face. He does know I'm alive, but he probably feels guilty about blackmailing me into dropping out in '84 now."
"He did what?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, crazy story. I should tell you all about it over dinner," Eddie said.
"That was smooth," Steve smirked.
Eddie ran his hand over the vest Steve was wearing and smirked.
"My vest looks good on top of a polo," Eddie said and paused, looking at him softly. "I'm not going to waste my chance this time. Hey, Steve?"
Suddenly, Steve was brought back to the Upside Down, and Eddie had looked at him with meaningful eyes before they parted ways. The memory was soon gone.
"Yeah?"
Eddie grabbed him by the vest and pulled him in, crashing their lips together. Eddie wrapped his arms around Steve’s neck, pulling him in closer as he deepened the kiss as Steve gripped his hips. Eddie broke the kiss, allowing Steve to breathe.
"We're kissing over your grave," Steve said.
"Better than walking over it," Eddie cackled.
Steve suddenly began pushing him backward until Eddie's back hit the tree that was next to his grave. He pressed his body up against Eddie's and covered his mouth with his own. He really should care that he was making out in a cemetery, but all he was aware of was Eddie. Eddie's mouth against his, Eddie's tongue making its way back in, and Eddie's hands quickly pulling his polo out of his pants so his hands could press themselves against his skin. All that mattered was how alive Eddie was and how much Steve could feel it. It was like all the lights were turning on inside of him, and it was Eddie that was flipping them on. Steve quickly broke the kiss and leaned his forehead against his, breathing heavily.
"We better stop before we do something else in cemetery that we're not supposed to," Steve said.
"Probably a good idea," Eddie said. "I think we just gave a granny quite a shock."
Steve looked over his shoulder and saw an older woman standing a few yards away, looking appalled.
"My God. She's literally clutching her pearls," Steve said.
"What do you think it is? That we're two men or that we're making out in a graveyard?" Eddie asked.
"Young man, my hearing is just fine! I don't care if you two have dicks! I mind that you two are fooling around in the place where the dead sleep!" She scowled.
Eddie and Steve looked at her in shock for a moment.
"I was not expecting her to say that," Steve said with wide eyes.
"Who would?" Eddie asked and glanced at the old woman. "Alright, time to adopt a grandmother."
"No, Eddie, we have to tell everyone you're alive, especially Wayne and Dustin," Steve said.
"Right. . .Dustin. Shit, I died in front of him. I know this is a stupid question, but how is he?" Eddie winced.
"Devestated but also hopeful that the mysterious figure who saved us all was you," Steve said and took Eddie's hand. "Let's get you home."
They laced their fingers together and walked out of the cemetery, apologizing to the granny as they left. They didn't care if anyone saw them, but after the town nearly went apocalyptic, how could anything else matter? The only thing that mattered was that they were both very much alive.
Friday I’m In Love
A/N: So jokes on me because I didn't expect to love Eddie Munson this much. @allaboardthereadingrailroad told me he was going to be the it girl of this season and I said absolutely not.
Warnings: Smut, lots of it. Drug use. Judgemental teenage girls
Parings: Eddie Munson x Plus Size Reader
Summary: Eddie invites you to his show, and holy shit. You show up.
Tumblr media
“Remind me why the hell were here again?”
You’d never been to The Hideout, a shitty hole in the wall off the highway outside of  town. You’ve driven by it like, a thousand times and never once had the urge to go inside. Now, as you stand next to your friend, Shelly’s, mom’s Subaru in the half empty parking lot your nerves are going haywire, over eager to walk through the doors.
“Because, we were invited”  you answer simply. Duh. Sweeping more glittery lip gloss on and fluffing your hair before adding “plus it’s not like we had anything else to do”
“We could literally be doing anything else then this- isn't Clair throwing a party tonight?”
“Yeah, but all her parties are always like, major depressing. Ever since Heather you know”-you  make a gurgling choking sound and cross your eyes “Its like, why do we have to do a toast to the dead girl, every party. I get once- but it feels redundant”
You get it. Claire and Heather were best friends. You’re also not in the mood to go hold her hand while she cries about it. Again.
Also, Heather had put gum in your third grade. So-
“For one- you're a horrible person” Shelly accuses, shaking her overly curly head “For two, we could’ve gone to the movies or something”
“You think the theaters boring, plus like. Won't it be fun to try something new? Come on” you grab her hand and pull her along behind you. Sparing one last glace at the familiar van, parked idle towards the front of the lot.
“So like, this has nothing to do with you and weirdo Munson, right?”
“Right- and its funny the way that you only think he’s weird after he sells you weed. Asshole”
Well- its not like you we’re expecting anything fancy from the Hideout. No expectations, no disappointment, right? The bar is the textbook definition of a dive.The lingering smell of stale beer hits you straight in the face as you walk in. Seedy lighting that makes everything look shadowy and almost green-
“Oh look! They have pool tables!” you point out because that could be fun. Maybe?
“Oh great” She replies, voice fasle sugar sweet before dropping “I want to leave”
“Shh” you elbow her, hard. “We just got here. Play nice”
And she does, for the most part. Sit down at one of the sticky tables with you. Avoids the looks of the bar's patrons- older. Wasted. White trash, for sure. You wouldn't talk to them, not ever but like. Whatever. You can just ignore them. That’s easy enough.
Especially when they get on stage. The Dark Wizards, Eddie at the lead. Even though he's not singing, even though he’s off to the side with that bright cherry red guitar of his. He’s the star.
“We’re the Dark Wizards, and we’re about to rock your mortal world”
You don't know when this…thing you had for Eddie developed. Somewhere between smoke laced conversations and late nights glued to your phone, him fighting the shitty static of his own line to talk until one of you called uncle, the thing had taken a life of its own.
He’s odd. Yeah. But no other guy has ever been this nice to you. Eddies odd, but he’s not cruel. He’s not like the asshole jocks or elitist math nerds. He’s not even like the rest of his leather clad D&D playing posse.
You wish you could get everyone else to see that. Get your friends to see that.
The singer is trash, the drummer can't keep a beat to save his life, but the guitar riffs are melodic. Smooth and sharp, and your heart catches the tune and beats in time. Blood flow slowing and stopping until your all but hypnotized.
You clap and cheer and cant manage to tear your eyes away until the final note plays, their set is over-
“Oh my god, you're so into him” the statement is disgusted, mostly. Fascinated. Your friend looks at you like she's watching a car crash- violent and bloody, but she can't take her eyes off of it.
You just shrug because like. Yeah. Obviously.
“Oh fuck no” she groans, face palming hard.
Eddie hurries out from behind the stage, which is really just their supply room. Grinning from ear to ear, beaming arms spread out wide. “Look who came!”
“You invited me, I told you I’d come” You try to contain it, but you're giddy. Even more so when he throws a gangly arm around your shoulder. “It’s no biggie”
“No biggie? You came all the way out here to see little ol me. Huge biggie, my friend. Huge” He holds his heart with his other hand dramatically-
Always so dramatic. Always so enamoring.
“You deserve a drink. A real one, what is this?” He dips his pinky into your friend's drink and her nose scrunches up something fierce and offended “Sprite? Nah, that's a peasant drink. Bartender kind sir- pour us something strong. And…fruity”
The bartender, who looks like an Ex-con, actually makes a mean Mojito.
------------
“It’s totes okay, I’ll call you when I get home, yeah?”
You're in the parking lot, again. Except for you're not leaving in the car that you came in.
Shelly’s tucked into the Subaru, staring out at you with all knowing eyes.
He’s just going to drop me off at home.
Uh Huh.
Seriously.
“Yeah whatever you better call me later- I want all the dirty details. Use protection- bye” she waves before her tires screech, hauling ass away from the Hideout. You flip her the bird all the way.
“Okay let's blow this popsicle stand” you plop into the passenger side of the beat up old van, bouncing along as you go. Glad for the low cut blouse you’d donned because Eddie's eyes follow your chest, comically, animatedly. Up and down.
“Whatever you say, mi’lady. Your house?”
“I mean- I don't have a curfew or anything on the weekend- we could go somewhere else. If you want to?”
Eddie looks pensive, lips pursed, before a light bulb goes off in his head.
“Want to go to the end of the earth with me?” He questions as he reverses, and well. How can you say no to that offer?
-----
The cliffs of Sattlers Quarry are jagged and high. Eddie parks too close to the edge- takes you out. Holds your hand tight as you screech, not being able to look over for more than a second.
“Its okay,” Eddie chuckles, herding you into the open back of the van. “I come here all the time, were all good Y/L/N.”
The seats are ripped out, posters of dragons and bare tittied ladies plastered on the metal walls. Black Sabbath plays lowly from the crappy speakers and he lays an armful of threadbare blanket down for cushioning, for the two of you to curl up on.
You cling to him just to do it. Keep close as he rolls the cleanest joint you’ve ever seen. Spark and smoke and laugh- all attached to hip. He talks about Tolkien as fluidly as he does Karl Marx, he likes pineapple on pizza and was born the day before Valentines. Cats are superior to dogs, and he like lives off of peanut butter crunch cereal.
His dad split when he was in eight grade and living with his Uncles not so bad, really. It’s kind of like rooming with a chill homie, but definitely nothing like having a real parent.
“I'm boring you aren't I? Just tell me to stop, and I’ll zip my lips. Locked. Key is thrown, right off that cliff” He makes the motions, zip. Key, tossed and you lean your face into his jean clad shoulder.
“Mmm, no. I like listening to you talk” its not a lie, not the usual shit you blow up guys ass. Everything out of Eddie’s mouth is unexpected, he tells stories with words. Vivid pictures, film on a loop. With your lungs burning and THC running through your system it's even better.
“I like you. In general” Eddie whispers, and you hide your face even more. He shrugs you away though, turning. Face to face, no way to run from his dark eyes “I like your eyes” he leans in, and you think finally he’s gong to kiss you. Instead he gets close enough. Blinks fluttery fast, his lashes against yours. Butterfly kisses
You shake your head, cheeks burning, chest tight.
“And your hair? I really like that- even if it is better than mine which is rude. And don't even get me started on your perfume because that? That’s my favorite. And your-”
You slap a hand over his mouth pushing until he gives way. Until your on top thick thighs caging his waist “Stop it, jeeze I lied. I hate your voice, shuddap!”
He makes a few muffled attempts, squirming a bit before giving up.  Going lax, bringing his hands behind his head and looking at you with dark eyes that shine and sparkle. He's enjoying this, and the long languid lick he gives to your hand shouldn't feel as good as it does.
You like Eddie, like the way he feels. You like the way he lets you be who you want to be, do what you want to do. Other guys would’ve thrown you off, too heavy. Too dominant. They didnt want to play, but Eddie. Eddie’s wanted to play with you since you hit that doobie behind the gym.
You unbutton your blouse slowly, letting him watch you. He can have it. All of it. Everything. You unhook your bra and those dark eyes go wide.
“This okay?” you ask, taking your hand off of his mouth, resting on his shoulder.
He nods, quick, adam's apple bobbing “Are you even asking me that right now? Yes, fuck yes I am a-okay. The best, really-”
The kiss you cut him off with is messy, too much tongue. Too much want. Why had you wanted this long? Maybe it should’ve have been more romantic- but then again maybe it is? It’s own version of romance, its own courting and dating and being cared for.
Eddies hands are everywhere, eager and exploring and its almost funny until he thumb brushes over your nipple, just on the right side of rough, making you  gasp sharp into his mouth, and grind down onto his hard lap in tight circles. Eddie pulls away, just barley. Dragging his slick mouth acros your jaw, down your chest, your hands fist tight his hair as he runs the flat of his tongue along the nub.
It feels too good, mind numbing. Base instinct, two teenagers and in a fogged up car. Breathing eachothers air, tasting each other spit. Fumbly and needy, too fast.
Struggling out of your clothes, you wiggle out of your tight acid washed jeans as Eddie shed’s layer after layer- Hell Fire Club Tee, Leather Jacket, Denim vest. The floor of his van littered. You’re tugging on your pink panties when he blankets himself over you, pushing you back down. The blankets rough on your bare skin.
Eddie’s a weirdo, not a virgin. And most importantly, he’s good with his hands. The long ring donned fingers work magic. The real life kind that gets your back arching and has sounds that would embarrass you to think about later clawing their way from your throat. Feels almost too good as he rests his forehead against yours, noses bumping as he pounds his fingers in and out of you.
He likes it, watching you squirm, watching your hips shift every time he tries to pull his hand away.
He keeps condoms in the glove box, mostly for show. Hope. The off chance that some girl gives him a chance and wants to hook up- once in a blue moon shit. He’s glad for them now, even if it means pulling away from a whining writhing you
When he slides back between your thighs it's a heady feeling. He’s almost vibrating, shaking out of his skin, nervous excitement making him clumsy. He  misses. Doesnt slide into you easily, the two of you shifting and giggling, gasping and nosing at one and other until.
Oh.
There.
The inhale you take is shaky and sharp and Eddie groans and buries his head in your neck. Breathing in your sweet perfume as his hips begin to pump.
“O-oh my god. Eddie-” You stutter, holding on to his shoulders. He’s not the thickest guy you’ve been with, but his dicks long. Longer then average forsure. Jabbing at that place inside you, pleasure pain bursting behind your eyelids and you cling to his shoulders. There's no real pace, not from the nineteen year old, but the friction of sweaty bodies feels good, the rocking rhythmic and almost peaceful as you stare up at the van’s ceiling. You like it, the way he moans, the way he tells you how it feels- he really doesn't ever shut up.
Its quick, you’re young and Eddie’s never been with anyone who feels so tight. You can tell when he’s close, when he speeds up to nothing more then a dirty, desperate grind. When his whole body goes taught and his arms tighten around your waist, holding onto you as he rides it out. As he shakes and shudders, needing the grounding. You hold him in the cradle of your thighs.
He pulls out with a hiss and slumps, heavy and boneless on to you and you stroke his back, trail your fingers across his shoulders soothingly. It felt good the minutes that go by in overexerted bliss. It wasnt like you weren't used to not getting yours. Guys just had a one track mind, right? No big deal, you’ll handle it when you get home-
Eddie's head perks up from your chest. Almost like he could read your mind, Isnt that one of his D&D elf powers or whatever?
His animated, recovered enough to have regained that mischievous look. He waggles his tongue, vulgar and pushing corny
 “Your turn, mi’lady”
Danny may or may not have been screwew.
----------------
Amity park was quiet, too quiet for Everyone residing in this haunted town,
Everyone knows that just this phenomenal is too be deem something was about to happen, and they couldn't be much more worried about it for the past year,
--------------------
Danny couldn't believe it, the new justice league movie was here!
Don't get me wrong, being a ghost hero and seemingly protecting the town from his own fellow ghost that were taking his whole schedule would not border his excitement for this movie
Mainly Sam had him hook-up to that comic collection she got in one of her dusty closets at her house that she already finished,
And to be exact he was too into the DC comics (sorry Marvel comics but your comics are great too👍)
And it was just in time for his birthday, his parents were out who knows where two days ago (must be one of there expeditions again)
And Jazz couldn't come (which was kinda Abit upsetting) since she had a college project in her major with her other group friends,
So tucker,him and Sam were the only ones,
-----------
Danny couldn't be Abit annoyed that they've been searching for a theater that the movie will be screening in,
The ones with better screens(modern theaters) the movie wasn't released in there end.
-------------------
“tuck can't you just hack whatever studios made that movie so we could just watch it in your PC? This is taking forever! Sam replied to tucker as she was Abit drip wet from the rain right now as they stay at an empty bus stop
Tucker:“well I wanted to suggest that idea, but I can't stop my parents request when they heard that we were watching a movie, they said it's much better in a cinema or theaters and you know me?”
Tucker answered back
Abit unsure which was abnormal for him but they couldn't point it out he's been a lot nervous for that hacking competition from the community for hackers and would won a very mystery surprised and been practicing lately even though he's already awesome at it.
-------------------------
The trio waited out the rain for about an hour as the sun shine in the faces of Amity park,
-------------------------
Sam:“we already cross out every cinema here!”
Both the boys look at Sam as she points out
It was only one movie how bad could it be to find it? Well pretty annoying actually.
Danny: “Hey guys remember that theater in the other side of the town?
Sam: “you mean that haunted theater? That is actually not inhabit by a ghost from the realms? Yeah I do”
Danny: “you do know that it's just called haunted is because there less people visiting and watching from there but look if it's the last place we need to check out for the movie!"- and my legs are hurting me rn just for walking)
--------------------
They did find the theater had the movie available, they had to wear this old 80s or 90s outfits to fit the theme, and they were alot of people looking like they came from the past, just don't bother to look at the phones there holding and very recognizable faces,
Sam had this very nice head piece her hair was Abit curly for her liking but they kept the dark shadow and gave her a red lipstick not her fav of a color but it's shade was nice, a very classic dress, with a pearl necklace that seems to glow
Tucker had that suit with a very nice tie and gloves, Danny felt Abit familia with it Abit.
And him, he was dress with that classic good boy suit- both tucker and Sam couldn't stop laughing,
But not atleast to stop to get pictures at the photo booth
One particular couple had commented that Sam and tucker look like an marriage couple and Danny look like there son in the picture
That made Danny well redden while Sam and tucker couldn't stop teasing him saying, parents jokes the way just for fun
But the movie was good they can't rub it in,
And can't forget when Batman backstory came out, Sam couldn't stop to comment that the suit he was wearing look exactly like young Bruce suit,the one his wearing now for theater vibes shit customs
Ohh Sam if you knew-😃
---------------------------
It was like watching those videos on 3 max speed,
After the trio had came out of the theater, and it might have been Abit dumb to make the alley way beside the theater a shortcut,
Well it felt like Deja Vu
Till that man with the gun was there, not exactly a man, it was a ghost, well hello new rogue, the ghost introduced himself as Mugger(really dude?) And he wanted them to give there belongins
One of those ghost bullets kinda hurt for Sam and tucker but they were okay, wasn't harm, reminded them Abit of paintball event last week they attend,
But most of all They couldn't believe that after the fight, the only one really beaten up was mugger, well shit-
-----------------
Danny was in an alleyway, near the theater(not the theater) and unfamiliar but similar city, there it was he was Abit bloodied in his suit, he was Abit smaller like some kid, and he was holding a pearl necklace that was torn abit only some few pieces of pearls scattered
No-no-no-no! Where was he?what was he doing here? Heck where was he even anyway?
Well that thought was interrupt when he say a hotel sign in pink neon lights
(welcome to Gotham: marywell inn!)
Like shoving into his face
Oh ancients what has he gotten himself up too?
-------- Well F7CK------
It might seem strange, especially for those who only know Marshawn Lynch for his football career, to see the Super Bowl champ in a comedy about queer high school girls launching a fight club.
Bottoms (in theaters now) features the 37-year-old former NFL star in a scene-stealing role as Mr. G, a clueless teacher overseeing the feminist after-school club launched by Rachel Sennott’s PJ and Ayo Edebiri’s Josie. Even the film’s director and co-writer, Emma Seligman, admits she initially thought landing Lynch was a long shot.
“It was such a random movie for him to be in that I was so shocked that he even was considering it,” the Shiva Baby filmmaker (who goes by she/they pronouns) tells PEOPLE.
But the real reason for this unlikely casting is altogether more personal: Marshawn Lynch’s queer sister, Marreesha Sapp-Lynch, says he asked her whether to add Bottoms to a growing acting résumé that includes Westworld and Murderville.
“From the beginning when he read the script, he said that I came to mind,” recalls Sapp-Lynch, 34. “I was like, ‘Most definitely you should do it.’ I just told him, ‘It'll get you to understand, get more knowledge about the lesbian community.”
Like the characters of PJ and Josie, Sapp-Lynch has identified as a lesbian since high school. It felt easy coming out to her mother Delisa, she remembers — “She'll tell me to this day, 'I always knew you liked girls!'” — but brothers David, Marshawn and Davonte had a less straightforward reaction.
“They were understanding, but they didn't understand,” Sapp-Lynch tells PEOPLE. “Marshawn had a lot of questions and was thinking it was his fault: ‘What did I do?’ Because growing up he would always say I couldn't have a boyfriend, ‘You can't talk to boys.’ We’d go to a party and he'd be asking everybody, ‘Did you dance with my sister?’ But I wasn't attracted to boys, so I didn't dance with them!”
Her brother has accepted and celebrated her sexual orientation since those teenage years, Sapp-Lynch says. Case in point: Marshawn helped plan her 2021 wedding and walked her down the aisle.
“I asked him to walk me down the aisle because our dad passed away,” says Sapp-Lynch with a smile. “He cried the whole time,” she adds.
“He doesn’t cry — or I don't see him cry. The fact that he did cry and shed some tears, it meant a lot to me.” (Marshawn was so invested in his sister’s wedding, in fact, he urged the pair to reschedule it from 2023 to 2021. “He was very much involved in the whole planning... He called us at 5:00 a.m. talking about the cake designs and party favors.”)
But with Bottoms, a comedy produced by Amazon’s Orion Pictures and Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions, Marshawn had a bigger opportunity to honor his sister. Discussing the role of Mr. G with the footballer, Seligman, 28, remembers thinking there must have been “more of a connection here beyond him wanting to be in a funny movie or something.”
“In his words, he said he wasn't amazing about it when Marreesha came out in high school and that he felt like this was the universe giving him a chance to right his wrongs,” she adds. “He made it seem like that was really what was interesting him the most about it.”
Throughout the film’s shoot in New Orleans, Seligman says, “he kept on bringing up Marreesha.” Especially when Sapp-Lynch and her wife visited the set, she recalls, “He kept on being like, ‘That's my sister.’ In a way where it was like a proud parent [of queer kids] — a proud brother.”
And when Orion Pictures president Alana Mayo suggested Marshawn for Mr. G, Seligman says, she realized it might expand the moviegoing audience of Bottoms. “Him believing in these girls and getting to know them and getting to understand them means a lot in the grand scheme of things within the crazy conservative town that they're in.”
Plus, the story’s homophobic characters are obsessed with the high school football team, Seligman points out. “To have a legendary football player like him playing this character that's getting to know this subsection of this town, and see them as real people with valid desires and hormones and feelings — that's pretty cool that Marshawn is representing that kind of straight, male character.”
Sapp-Lynch agrees, and says seeing a movie full of gay characters like Bottoms while coming out in high school “would've helped me make me feel easier, make me feel better about me being who I am.”
“I didn't understand my sexuality in high school, so I actually think it might've freaked me out,” admits Seligman. “It would've excited me. Maybe it would've jumpstarted some things!”
Of co-writing the film with Sennott, she says, “I really just wanted to see my high school self in a stupid comedy.” She recalls a quote from Edebiri: “Being stupid is a political act.”
“Just having queer characters in something so silly and that's not serious feels subversive,” Seligman continues. “I don't think we're trying to prove anything political or have some sort of deeper message or meaning out of the movie. Other than ‘Gay people can be funny, sexy and horny, and that's normal.’ Sometimes just normalizing something is enough.”
“Marshawn in the movie,” she adds, “beyond him being a wonderful actor and improviser and a lovely human being, it is wild that it might be seen by so many more people who wouldn't have otherwise seen it.”
Warnings: She/Her pronouns used
Summary: Ellie and Y/N are in two very different social groups at school. One day when Y/N's crush is cruelly exposed in front of the whole school, Y/N is brutally shot down. Finally, five years later the two run into each other again.
High School AU
Pt. 1 Pt. 2 Pt. 3
*Not Proof Read*
A/N: Day one is bad. I didn't know what to do for the first day. I just wanted it to look awkward af bc it's supposed to be super awkward and tense between Ellie and reader. Guys idk how good this is. I feel like I had an idea but idk if I executed it very well. I kinda just ran out ideas for this story. Lmk what you think. Also sorry for not updating yesterday. I just started a new job and shit's wack. I feel like whenever I go to work my body insecurities get worse, ya know? Idk why. Maybe it's the uniform or whatever but I just feel shitty whenever I show up. Anyways, ya'll aren't here for my life story so here's what you came for.
Also I changed it to only three days bc I couldn't think of enough things for them to do.
*****
Day One
Trixie's. Must be a new business.
I don't remember it being here before.
A cool breeze brushes past me as soon as I walk in. The first thing I notice is the large bar in the back of the room. What I'd give for a fucking beer right now...
We sit towards the back of the building. A waitress is quick to bring us some bright red menu's. " I'll be right with you two in a moment. " She smiles before rushing off.
Ellie and I are silent as we scan over the menu's. I don't think either of us knows exactly what to say. I mean, what the hell are you supposed to someone who caused you so much pain?
Just one hour.
Ellie sets down her menu. " Hey so, there's a fair coming through town this week. Do you maybe want to go on Thursday? " She asks cautiously.
I glance up at her. Bad mistake.
Fuck she's hot.
" Um, " Fuck I don't know. Do I want to go? Fuck. " Sure. " I shrug, setting aside my menu. " I mean we've got to do something Thursday anyways, why not? "
The rest of the evening seems to drag on. Small talk is quickly overcome with awkward silence.
How the fuck am I going to do this for 6 more days?
_____
Day 2
Here we go again.
I pull into the movie theater parking lot. People flow in and out of the building, smiles adorning their faces.
I spot Ellie waiting by the entrance, cigarette in hand. " Hey. " I greet with a tight smile.
" Oh hi! " Ellie smiles, snuffing out the bud. " Ya ready? " She asks.
" Yup. " I mumble. In an ideal world both of us will end up disagreeing on a movie to watch and end up splitting up to watch our own show. I doubt it'll happen, but a girl can dream.
" What should we watch? " Ellie asks while looking through the movies. " Oh shit, the Savage Starlight movie came out. " She mutters, her eyes lighting up slightly.
" Wait really? " I glance over her shoulder to look. " I thought it was coming out next month. "
Ellie nods. " Me too. Should we watch it? "
" Sure. "
At least something good will come out of this.
" That fucking sucked. " Ellie blurts as we walk out of the building. " Whoever made that needs to fucking read the comics. "
" Oh my god, I thought I was the only one. " I sigh. " They completely ruined the plot. "
Ellie nods in agreement. " And Daniela Star...fuck what the hell did they do to her costume? "
I chuckle. " They sexified it. Like bro, just let a girl live without having to show her tits. " I roll my eyes.
" Yeah. "
There's a moment of comfortable silence. No tension. No anger. Just two people bonding over a comic series. For a moment I almost things feel okay.
" I don't know about you, but I'm fucking hungry. Do you wanna grab something to eat? " Ellie asks.
" You read my mind. " I nod, pushing myself off of the wall. " Where are we going? "
Ellie and I walk down the street to a small pizza joint.
" I'll have the cheese pizza, please. " I say after examining the menu.
" Alright, your total is $4.50. "
" I got it. " Ellie pulls out her wallet before I can speak. She hands over a five dollar bill. " Keep the change. "
" Ellie. " I shake my head. " You've paid for everything so far. I can't let you do this. " I try to hand her another five.
Ellie backs up shaking her head. " No. I told you I was gonna make what I did up to you. This is the least I can do. "
We quickly grab our food and head outside.
" This shit is the best. " Ellie mutters between bites. " I don't know why I haven't been here in so long. I used to love this place as a kid. "
" Marco slips something in his dough, I swear. " I agree. " I haven't found another place with pizza this good. "
The sound of crickets fills the air. A small click captures my attention.
" That shit's gonna kill you. "
Ellie shrugs, lighting up the end of her cigarette. " At least I'll die happy. "
I roll my eyes. " You'll die hacking up blood. "
Ellie's nose crinkles slightly. " Thanks for the visualization, dad. " She mocks slightly. " I only smoke when I'm nervous or stressed. "
I purse my lips. " Ellie Williams, are you nervous right now? "
Ellie doesn't respond. Instead she takes a deep breath.
" What happened to you, Ellie. " I ask genuinely curious. " You used to be... "
" Perfect? "
" I was gonna say an asshole. "
Ellie chuckles. " I grew a fucking spine. I ended up cutting majority of my friends off and dropping out of college. Now I sell weed and work at a supermarket. " She says nonchalantly.
" Definitely a big character change. "
Ellie grins. " Speaking of weed. " She pulls out a blunt. " You ever try one? "
" Of course. "
Maybe tonight won't be so bad.
-----
Day 3 (Thursday)
" I will win that stupid bear if it's the last thing I do. " Ellie huffs in frustration. Her face hardens in concentration as she tosses another dart at the dart board.
" You really don't need to, Ellie. " I grin at her 20th attempt.
Ellie doesn't respond. A small alarm goes off as Ellie finally makes the final dart into the center of the board. " Fuck yeah, baby! " She cheers. " Told you I'd do it, Y/N. "
I roll my eyes. " Yeah yeah. "
Ellie accepts the large stuffed bear from a game operator who's obviously very annoyed with us. Yeah, we've been here a bit.
" Here, this is yours. " Ellie hands me the large brown bear.
" Are you sure? You spent like 40 bucks trying to win this thing. "
Ellie takes a sip of her beer. " It was worth the smile on your face. Keep it. "
The past couple of days have been...unexpected. I came into this fully expecting to hate Ellie when I leave.
Now I'm not so sure.
We make our way to our last ride of the night; The Ferris Wheel.
" God, Jackson looks beautiful up here. " I sigh while peering down at the bright lights.
Ellie hums in agreement. " It's a nice breather from the world. I feel like I can just...be. "
" It definitely is. " I glance over at Ellie.
She looks back at me. Her smile slightly falters. " I guess this is it. "
It's the third day.
Have I forgiven her? I'm not sure. On one hand, I don't feel like she's the same person. On the other hand, how can I be sure. I mean, I haven't been here in five years. She could be lying for all I know.
" I'm not sure about you, Ellie. I don't think three days is enough time to fix what happened. "
Ellie nods, gaze dropping to her lap.
" But I'd like to get to know you. "
She head snaps up. Confusion flashes across her expressions. She obviously wasn't expecting me to want to talk to her after this.
" Maybe I can...stay a little longer. "
A grin spreads across Ellie's features. " I'd like that. "
" Well then. To new beginnings. "
" To new beginnings. "
I don't really like this last chap. I might remake it if I can come up with some ideas for it. Hopefully some of you guys still enjoyed it.
We went to California for my work trip, and it really was great leaving from our little airport with its 7 gates down here in Florida. (I didn't get groped by TSA!) We spent 4 days in Napa, visiting the vineyards where we're members, drinking so much great wine, and eating so much great food, then my work event went great, and then we went back home to NYC for two weeks for Thanksgiving with my husband's family and to see all of our friends.
It was a little peek into what our life might be like if we lived in Florida full-time and just went back to NYC now and then. We went to our usual bar trivia and some movies at our favorite theater, but then I also went to a 2 Michelin star $700pp tasting menu with one of my co-workers (work paid, don't worry!) and we went to one of the holiday markets with my husband's sister who was in town from Poland. So, partly everyday things and partly NYC-specific things! I'm a little jealous of our friends back there hanging out without us, but I'm also very happy right now to not have any social responsibilities and to be able to eat a little lighter and focus a little on my YouTube channel (that's been growing!).
Anyway, I was inspired to post because I woke up this morning and the sun was shining in through the balcony doors, and I stood in front of them and watched the ocean waves hit the beach as I put on some pajama pants. And I love waking up in my NYC apartment, too, but there's something special about walking around with no pants with my wide open windows and knowing that no one can see me! 🙂
Also, we bought our first-ever air fryer, and because my husband loves a gadget, he's almost exclusively been the one to use it. And because it keeps setting off our smoke alarm, he's been obsessively cleaning it. He does a ton around our house in NYC, but cooking and washing the dishes is usually my domain! It's been a nice break for me.
And one more thing: I need to renew my passport, so yesterday we took my photo and then went to Walmart to get a money order to send with my application, and then we went to Office Depot to print out my application, and then we went to CVS to print out the photo, and then we went to the post office to mail everything. And everywhere we went, people were SO NICE. Employees went out of their way to help us at every store, like they were just INTERESTED in us and doing their jobs. People said hello to us when we walked into the stores. There are of course amazing employees in some NYC stores, but a lot of people act like saying hello to you even when you're literally standing in front of them at their register is just out of the realm of possibility. I don't know if people outside of NYC just have better manners or are just less tired because they don't have to deal with as many customers, but it is REFRESHING.
Okay, enough of my blathering, off to read your posts!
Regarding my heading down an unfinished road... I found it on Google Street View.
So these are from a year ago.
Tumblr media
This is the lane I drove down.
Tumblr media
And this is the section where I realized, "Oh shit, I ain't supposed to drive here."
I used generative fill to update these images to what they looked like on the day of embarrassment.
Tumblr media
Looking back, there were a few cones. But all of the "do not enter" signs were gone and I think it would be perfectly reasonable to assume you could drive here. I think other people may have avoided it because they drive in this area regularly. I drive maybe once or twice a month.
And here is what the dead end looked like with a year of construction progress.
Tumblr media
(It is scary how close generative fill matched this to my memory of it.)
I was really confused when I got to this point. I wasn't sure if I should try backing up or turning. I thought the gravel was okay to drive on, so I pulled forward and started a u-turn. But there was a sharp drop-off from the road to the gravel section I couldn't see and that was very jarring. And the gravel was not fit for driving on. So I kicked up a ton of dust and passers-by were all "WTF are you doing?"
Hell, I was like "WTF are you doing?"
I have a feeling this memory will join a few other embarrassing moments that pop into my head right before I try to fall asleep.
It wasn't my fault, but yeah, I hate driving around here.
It feels like the highway construction in this area is endless. It's been going on for years and it never feels like any progress is being made.
They closed off 3 highway exits for streets that contain a lot of local businesses. One of them leads straight to Ferguson. And if you don't know to exit onto a side road ahead of these areas, you'll just pass them by. So people from out of town who might be looking for a place to eat or shop could easily drive past these areas.
I feel sad for my community. Big franchises are closing up shop. There is no pizza place that directly delivers to my area. When your last pizza place closes up, that's when you know your community is in trouble.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If anyone around here wants pizza delivered you have to spend a ton to have it DoorDash'd in from another area.
And it all started with a "white flight" epidemic. They even made a documentary about it called Spanish Lake (my township). There was a failed housing project nearby and a lot of poor Black folks started moving to Spanish Lake afterward. Then some scummy real estate people took advantage and it all snowballed from there...
"The 1990s saw a mass exodus of the white population, spurred on by blockbusting, a practice some U.S. real estate agents use to encourage white property owners to sell their houses quickly at a loss, implying the African-Americans moving into their neighborhood will depress their property values."
Apparently blockbusting is the new red lining.
The "controversy" section on Wikipedia sums up the movie pretty well.
Tumblr media
I started following a Facebook page dedicated to Spanish Lake, thinking it would be other folks in my community. I thought maybe I could get to know my neighbors.
Instead, it is all of the white people who moved away reminiscing about how great Spanish Lake used to be.
Tumblr media
People in this group are trying really hard not to say the quiet part out loud.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riff raff?
Scot, I think you dropped this...
Tumblr media
I grew up here. I still live here. I love my house and my street. There are some areas that could really use some help, but if you live here, you know the few small pockets to stay away from. I have no issue walking up and down my street at night without fear.
They also mourn the loss of the businesses that closed because they abandoned the area.
There is the mall which will be officially demolished soon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, yes, it is the spooky mall from that viral video.
youtube
There was the movie theater... at the mall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was the Aloha Roller Rink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which now looks like this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the burger joint.
Tumblr media
The pizza place.
Tumblr media
And the other pizza place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saullo's was okay.
Angelo's in the next town over is better. And still in business!
Tumblr media
What was I talking about?
Oh, yeah. Don't drive down unfinished roads!
Dating Robin Buckley HC's
pairing: ( requested ) Robin Buckley x female!reader
fandom masterlist: Stranger Things
warnings: pretty lady is into pretty ladies so i had fun with this. but cursing, borderline NSFW.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• ow my heart, she's a cutie. and you're a cutie. and together, you make two adorable idiots in love! what a great combination.
• we know she gets real nervous and rambles, but it doesn't really start that way with you two. you meet when you're a bit younger and had a decent friendship.
• you're a bit of a study-bug, so, your main focus in on school. maybe you have a sport you keep up with for a gleaming college application, possibly even a club or two.
• maybe you meet in band, bonding over how lame you feel but deciding that high school extra curricular's don't matter when you're applying for colleges that will get you outta this town.
• none the less, let's say you're well-known in school but you're stupid nice. okay? you're a total sweetheart and Robin watched you come into your own, while maintaining an avid friendship.
• it all changes sophomore year.
• maybe Robin realized she had a budding crush on you when you're both changing for gym. maybe not.
• maybe it's when you're both at lunch and you wordlessly hand her an extra baggie of sliced apples, because yesterday she had complained about craving them. maybe not.
• shit, maybe it's in study hall and she's visibly stressed about an upcoming test, right? and you? you're just closing your books and sliding them aside to reach for her textbook and notes. so, maybe she realizes her crush when you start calmly walking her through a few concepts, but maybe not.
• it could've been when you guys meet for that Friday for a new movie. in the dark theater, maybe you felt a little bold and slid your hand into hers, despite there being no reason to on the movie screen. maybe not!
• no matter when it was, Robin's hit like a train when she realizes it and come Monday, oh, man! that girl's a stumbling, stuttering mess. but she gets it together because friendship is important.
• come junior year, she feels her stomach in knots because you're easily her best friend by now. she's unsure of your sexuality and she didn't feel the need to tell you hers, so, she panics, holds it all in, until Russians drug her and she's confessing to Steve Harrington her massive crush on you.
• leading into senior year, Steve's telling her around almost every corner that she needs to tell you! and he's not subtle, either!
• you come around Scoops Ahoy like clock work when it still stands. maybe you just want to see Robin, chat it up with her a bit, try a scoop of some new flavor they have.
• Steve's nice enough, but he's far too smug when they start working at Family Video after the mall fire.
• so, you get a little suspicious.
• but don't worry, Robin does come clean to you. and you assure her that the feeling is mutual!
• oh, my idiots in love!
• you're wicked smart, right? and sure, maybe you play a sport! but Robin always found it adorable when you'd seemingly trip over nothing.
• and she's no better, so, you know what you should do? hold hands. to stabilize yourselves! at least, that's what you tell Robin and she agrees.
• little lady loves holding your hand; fingers lazily intertwined.
• but in the '80s, while your friends totally respect your sexuality, it was still hard to live in a small town full of judgmental jackasses. so, you definitely stave off the PDA and don't really talk to anyone about relationship status.
• who're we kidding - most of the people you talk to know about you and Robin already, so, whatever. this means, when in private or around them, there's a lot of hand holding. it's an easy and effective way to tell your partner a multitude of things.
• mostly, the pair of you need mutual reassurance. and you were happy to provide for Robin because that girl would give you the moon if you asked her for it.
• so much laughter. seriously, are you two ever serious? why're you always laughing or smiling?
• ah, man, and the dates. mostly everyone thinks you're just two friends, hanging out, and why shouldn't they? you're dating your bestie, there's not much more to ask for.
• but the dates are cute because you both have mutual, genuine interests. and after being friends for so long, you fall into a different rhythm of communicating.
• hence the hand squeezes. ow, my heart!
• look, the girl burns water, okay? but she loves baking or cooking with you. not just because you let her lick the spoon, but you have this way about you that teaches her without feeling like it was real education.
• but Robin definitely licks the spoon.
( • and the batter off your fingers )
• Robin's love language are words of affirmation and quality time. heavy on the quality time.
• she's so at home and at peace with herself when she's with you.
• and even if you're not doing much, like if you're just reading and she's studying or practicing her instrument, she's so fucking happy. 'cause any time with you is better than nothing.
• there's some myth, and it says something along the lines of Zeus creating Man with basically two halves. but some God or Goddess got crazy mad jealous, and severed Man from his half, and now our purpose on earth is to find our other half.
• you like telling her she's your other half.
• and Robin will take your cheek in her hand, smile, and assure you the same. then she dives in for a kiss. and another, and another.
• cuties!
• but she likes to hear the reassurance that you're still in this with her. she can't express herself physically, and it's hard to articulate a cohesive emotional thought, but reassurance goes a long way.
• she might not be into painting her nails, but she's into letting you paint them. you get hyper focused on a good paint job, and you'll pin your hair back to keep it from falling into your eyes.
• that might be one of Robin's favorite angles of you.
• neither of you are big on shopping but when you go together, consider it straight outta some romcom. just a pair of idiots forgetting what they were looking for, trying on odd clothing combinations.
• she's not into big bouquets of flowers, but she melts when you give her a single stem.
• concerts! you're concert buddies and it's a staple of your relationship.
• maybe music is a sort of communication between you two.
• you'll pick up new records and cassettes to listen to with her; laying around your room with your fingers lazily raking over each others.
• Robin loves to dance. so, please get ready to be yanked off your bed to dance around the room with her.
• parents love her, how can they not? she's adorable.
• uh, siblings are pretty neutral. they don't hate her, but they don't love her - mostly because she gets nervous around them and doesn't have much of a rapport.
• trying new make-up trends on each other. Robin's still a girl and has been known to drop on your bed with a pout and the newest Cosmo when on her period. you'll discuss new trends together before she's trying not a new eyeliner trick.
• but she's not as forthcoming in letting you do her make-up.
• it's a work in progress, okay?
• hanging out with Steve becomes second nature because of how close they are. and he loves you, so, no worries on that.
• you drive - Robin doesn't. so, you take her where she needs to be because she's a cutie and driving her means seeing her sooner. you do the math.
• and let's be honest, you're her first real relationship. she's yours. sex is funny because neither of you know what you're doing.
• so, you know what? having an orgasm doesn't happen the first few times but you figure it out.
• and once you do, you're definitely insatiable. and she's more than happy to go along with things.
• Robin's even the one dragging you off into some remote corner of the school; or a darkened closet; or even the basement of Steve's house because he's on the phone to some Linda, or Delilah, or Mary.
• Steve walks in on you two several times. hand down Robin's pants? doesn't matter, you're just offering a quick glare at him and telling him to fuck off.
• he's learned to knock very loudly before entering any rooms.
• Robin's a sucker for having her hair played with. she likes to lay on your chest with your hand in her hair - just idly tugging on the strands.
• homework dates - that's a given.
• you're the only one Robin goes to when she's upset or emotional. you're really good at listening, so, she runs straight for you anytime something mildly upsets her. OR! something that monumentally upsets her.
• you'll wipe her tears, kiss her nose, and assure her that things are going to be okay.
• it mostly leads to you both laying in bed; your hand raking through her hair, music playing lightly. you'll kiss her brow, then her forehead; just holding her tightly to protect her from the world.
• she actually asks you keep your nails just a little longer than she does because Robin loves the feel of your nails raking over her skin and scalp.
• you oblige but being mindful of your pointer and middle finger. you get why, right? great.
• she's wicked smart and speaks different languages. she's fluent in English, sure, but she's also fluent in you. she can read you better than anyone and isn't afraid to step in, making sure you're okay.
• awwwwh, she'll try to teach you other languages but you just like listening to the sound of her voice. the way she pronounces foreign words. it's a turn on and you don't get a lot of learning done.
• she'll notice when you're anxious and saddle up beside you. take your hand in hers. offer a sweet smile, mutter that things are okay, and then if needed, she'll get you out of wherever you guys are.
• Robin says she loves you first but it's an accident. she's on one of her tangents and it slips out. when she realizes, her eyes will go really wide and she'll start stuttering over an excuse.
• you'll kiss her and hold her cheeks in your hands, assuring her you love her too. because she's your person.
• speaking of that myth again, she'll get you matching rings. hers will have a sun on it and yours will have a moon.
• because she's the light you look for everyday, and you're the calm she needs. you're both so at peace with each other, it's scary. but again, you're best friends first so it's totally natural.
• and ohhhh, my God - you guys are cute. you're sarcastic and witty, too. you match her energy perfectly, like two golden retrievers at a park together.
• the excitement over seeing her never dampens. and Robin's right there with a grin - assuring you, she's just as excited. because that girl's obsessed with you and will never get tired of seeing your face.
• the kind of excitement where the grin is effortless and almost spilts your face. where you bounce on your toes. where you giggle because she's not (always) funny but for fuck's sake, she makes you laugh.
• the party loves you - you're the balance they need. you can match Robin, sure, sure - but you also keep her grounded.
• she's been known to get overwhelmed and fly off the handle a little; but there you are, holding her hand, or speaking lowly to bring her right back into reality.
• nicknames! nicknames! nicknames! Robin has a plethora of nicknames in her arsenal. however, they're not always super cute... she's been known to call you "dummy" sometimes. but it's out of love, so, it's okay.
• she loves that you can dish it back to her like you can take it. when i say you're sarcastic shits together - i mean it. and everyone knows it. they'll tread carefully when you're both fired up.
• nobody insults Robin 'cause you'll go for the throat. your fierce protectiveness is refreshing - she's used to people hurting her and leaving. but not you. never you. she knows you'd rather be hurt 100 times over before hurting her - or letting something hurt her.
• and trust me, nobody dares to say anything bad about you because Robin's worse than a week-long-starved Rottweiler.
• i would very much like to date Robin, please. universe? God? anyone listening? send me a Robin.
Review of each IB class as an international baccalaureate diploma haver (IB is just AP but more european)
HL English - One of the less stressful classes. I like reading and writing, I remember finishing assignments earlier than expected. I got a 5
Oral exam - Did this in junior year, I did it on V for Vendetta (the movie) and Small Gods by Terry Pratchett because I was smoking fucking crack apparently
Paper - I barely remember this one, I think I did it on Ajax. Easy
Exams - Easy shit. I even had time to draw on the back
HL History - Having a good teacher helped. Not caring about WW1 did not help. I got a 5
Paper - Actual garbage. Worst thing I've ever written. Wrote it in junior year then had to edit it a year later and it was so bad
Exams - More stressful than the english ones, my hand fucking hurt, still had time to draw on the back because I'm the goat
SL Biology - Yayy :3 aminals and cell :3 slime :3 (I got a 5)
Paper - did it on slime mold hehe. Make sure you have your plan together early on in this assignment in case you need to order materials
Exams - If you make up enough things about science you might accidentally stumble into the right answer!
SL Math - I'm one of those sick fucks who like math. If you're a normal person then I'd consider getting a tutor to lessen the stress. I got a 5
Paper - finished this in like 2 days easy
Exam - Literally fuck my entire life
HL Theatre - If you're willing to embarrass yourself, lie, cheat, and steal, then this is an easy HL class. I got a 5
Papers - there's no exam for this class, only papers and recorded performances. The directors notebook was fun (didn't require any acting, I could draw pretty pictures). The research project was ok, make sure that your subject has more than one source describing it (I did mine on Kabuki theater so pretty easy). The group project... I don't want to think about that. The solo project was almost fun I got to writhe on the floor like a worm.
SL Spanish - literal dante's inferno type journey. I got a 4
Oral exam - on GOD don't be autistic
Exams - If I had a gun I'd kill myself
Extended Essay - don't forget to have fun and be yourself :) I got a D. If I could pass with that dogshit essay then SO CAN YOU!!
CAS - If you're bad at lying on IB assignments at this point I don't know how to help you. I actually don't know if they grade this? I'm not checking
CAS project - Make sure to do this completely last minute ok? :3
CAS presentation? - The thing you record all your CAS stuff on. People say that the Service part was the most difficult but that was easy for me since my town has a lot of volunteer opportunities, yours does too if you look hard enough. I had trouble on the Active because I do not go outside.
Ok I think that's everything but just make sure that you get deeply invested into a new video game two weeks before the exam this step is crucial also make sure you get into a college that only accepts 45 of your IB credits even though you got 55 LITERALLY KILL YOURSELF WESTERN WASHINGTON SUCK MY BALLS
Can you please write with Freddie A "who knew you were one for the cheesy stuff?" And "spend the night?", thank you I love your writing...
j's valentine event | contains: fluff
Tumblr media
reading fred, or trying to, was a difficult task. such that you weren't even sure if anyone had been successful at it before. he was the most stone cold, calm expression, still man you'd ever met. and as much as it confused you, it thrilled you all the same.
you had asked, bargained, tried to pry out of him what the plan was for valentines day. your relationship was still relatively new, february would be four months with him, and there were still some things that were unsaid and to still be discovered.
freddie liked to take things slow. he operated on his own time and schedule, not feeling the need to rush to do anything or be anywhere. it bothered you a lot, but it was slowly growing on you. slowly. incredibly slow.
earlier in the day fred told you that he would pick you up after he had practice. you'd spent the past few hours getting ready, picking out at outfit that would be appropriate for whatever he had in store. that was another thing about fred you were starting to slowly get used to. he liked planning date nights, but he never told you what date nights were. or where they were, or what you needed to wear.
but damn if the dates night weren't good. so it compensated. one night he rented out the entire movie theater just for you guys, and you barely watched the movie as you spent a majority of the time making out like teenagers.
you had high hopes for the valentines date. you put together an outfit that you could wear to the most expensive place in town, but to also a casual sandwich shop. the duality of an outfit is important.
he walked you out to his car, opening the door for you, giving you a sweet kiss before closing it and walking to the drivers side. "so, what's the plan for tonight?"
"i had planned that we go out to dinner at armando's, go to the live theater and watch that play you'd wanted to see, then go home for a bit. sound good to you?"
"that sounds....great but isn't armando's, don't they have like a month long wait list?" he chuckled at your question, his right hand holding yours as his left hand took control of the steering wheel.
"yeah, and?" he toyed with you, looking over while the light was red. "i've had this planned out for a while babe," he kissed the top of your palm while he drove forward when the light changed to green.
he walks you into the restaurant and the ambiance is quite romantic. there's red roses adorned at every table along with two unscented candles, dim lighting with soft music playing in the back ground.
throughout the rest of the night, from it seemed like out of his back pocket he handed you a large bouquet of red and white roses for you to have. the live theater was on your bucket list and he was happy to check it off with you.
he suggested that, after the dinner and the play, he take you outside of raleigh for a drive. to just go for a drive, to get out of the business for a while. the drive was a little long, but he found a spot to pull off for a little bit.
he opened his back trunk of his suv and laid a blanket out in the back for you both to lay on, looking up at the stars. his arm was wrapped around you, your head resting on his chest.
"who knew you were one for the cheesy stuff?" you teased, your finger tracing up and down his arms lightly.
"what do you mean?" he said through a smile.
"well, the fancy dinner date, the play, the roses, looking at the stars...it's straight out of a movie, red." he chuckled at the nickname and kissed your forehead.
"i dunno, i just wanna enjoy the time i have with you. i know i don't get a lot, but i wanna make the most of it."
throughout your conversation, before and after, there was a thought burning in his brain. up unto this point, you'd done a lot together as a couple, but you had yet to spend the whole night through. you had walked through his front door to go home at two or three in the morning, and those moments he wanted to say just stay here, but he didn't.
he wants you to, now. but is it too soon? is it too quick of a move? he can't decide, so he'll just let you decide for him. he waits to ask on the drive back into town, with the soft radio playing and the sound of the highway.
"stay the night with me," he says, taking your hand and turning the radio down. a faint smile grows on your lips, you bite it back because you don't want to seem too excited but you had wanted this for a while too.
"are you sure? i don't have any overnight stuff with me," you tried to reason.
"yeah- yes, yes i'm sure. i can take you home so you can get stuff, if you want."
"i'd like that." he grins, bringing your hand up to his lips again to kiss once more.
Bo Sinclair General Relationship HCs
A/n- A while ago (like, last year while ago), realized that I had never actually written anything for a lot of the characters on my list. So, I wanted to change that. Dug up this work from my drafts and edited it for y'all to enjoy! <3
One for Vinnie is already in the works!! and i believe i already have a post for Lester <33
T/W: Bo should be his own warning (he's kind of mean), very vague nsft implications
despite the way he treats his brothers- he does love them. Vinnie and Les rr all he's had for so long ! he just doesn't know how to show them he cares, since all he really knows is the pain and hurt his parents (especially his mother) caused him.
of course that doesn't make everything he does okay! but at least it helps to explain the cold and hard exterior he always has. not only is he capable of showing kindness- he actually has a very soft nice side to him. it's just difficult to reach that layer.
when the two of you first meet, he thinks ur cute and flirts with you. who knew that he'd be letting you live that fateful afternoon...
after that first encounter- Bo's gonna seem like a total asshole at first. (well- he is)
it takes months...but he does warm up to your presence after a while. he still doesn't totally trust you. he had been keeping a very close eye on you, making sure you wouldn't leave. but he loosens up and lets you explore town by yourself more. not constantly stuck by your side.
any touch or affection that's on the spicier side is likely to develop in the first few months. the soft side of him can take years to fully unravel though...
god damn is he handsy. always has a hand on ur ass ( discreetly hidden in ur pant pockets, or on display for anyone in town to let them know HEY. ur fuckin taken >:( )
not much of a hugger. especially in public. exceptions to this are: holding uu or being held by you while the two of you sleep OR if one of uu is upset. hugs and gentle touches when he's angry always calm his nerves a bit.
what touches and when they're okay takes a lot of experience of situations to figure out. Bo isn't straight forward with his feelings. You have to infer and make mistakes and fuck up a lot to really understand him
also !! picking uu up and twirling uu around as an occasional greeting <3
okay honestly?? he's a total flirt but also a bit of a romantic. like Classic Romance.
there's not much good that came from his upbringing- but he learned to be quite the gentleman and knows how to treat his partner right (sort of...not really) (you probably have to teach him to be kinder and more gentle to ya- he'd work on that for you, though <3333)
like, I think he'd get his S/O roses or your first date would be at their fake movie theater set up. Bo would flip through a few of the old reels, settling on whichever one seemed the least boring. it would be only you and him (and several wax figures). maybe you'll rest your head against his shoulder as you watch the film, he'll snake an arm around you, pulling you ever so slightly closer. holding a small conversation filled with passing remarks and stupidly flirtatious lines. which begins in small whispers and ends in uproarious laughter. you leave before the movie even ends (Bo will deal with it later), and you just can't help keeping your eyes off him.
(he's quite the charmer, isn't he?)
back to physical affection with him !! his kisses are more often than not- rough. They don't meld or connect to yours- they don't Try to. they'll bruise and hurt you.
yet, at the end of the night, he'll peck little kisses on your face and lips and down your neck.
is very keen on using terms like: gorgeous, beautiful, handsome, etc when referring to you. like, instead of your name lol
he'll just lean against the door frame, seeing you plate the table for dinner- for him and his brothers. a smug smirk on his face as he ogles you.
"hey gorgeous, miss me?" he'll say. putting his fingers beneath your chin, lifting your face so you could see each other better. kiss the corners of your mouth, lick the sweetness from your lips.
you'll turn your gaze to him. surprised by him. not by how nice he's being (you know your boyfriend, and your friend could also be a real sweet fellow if he tried), but from his sudden appearance. he didn't usually seek you out when you cook or bake.
face melting into an adoring, eager expression when your eyes finally meet his.
"bo," you'll smile. "good to see ya down so early. what's got ya so excited?"
he'll smile and press a dozen kisses across your body. "to see you, darlin."
also, while i imagine Bo sees himself more fitted for a traditional relationship- man/woman, him doing the work, his gal staying at him to cook and such. . . he's known to surprise folks every once in a while. he doesn't mind who or what you are- either way he's gonna be a curmudgeon till you grow on him.
despite Bo's personal feelings- he'll try to apologize to you when he fucks up. he doesn't really do apologizes- especially if he thinks he's in the right.
he hates seeing you all upset, especially from something that he's done- he'll treat you extra special whenever he messes up <33
who knows . . . maybe Bo will even change and grow as a person for you hehe
Hiii so something I struggle with is remembering to eat and well finding something I want to eat that won’t take a long time to make. Anyway I was wondering if I could get some head cannons for The Sinclair brothers, Thomas Hewitt and any other slashers you want with an s/o who struggles with remembering to eat? Thank you <3
Headcannons coming right up! For this one I decided to just stick with the boys you picked <3
Bo Sinclair:
~With how hard Bo works around Ambrose, He would probably forget to eat sometimes himself, so he understands.
~If he notices things getting really bad with you remembering to eat, (Which he will notice, Bo notices everything) He will come back to the house more often during the day to check on you
~He would try and help out best he could with making you hot homecooked meals, But he's not the best cook. The culinary talents fell to Lester but do you really want a guy who picks up roadkill all day cooking your food?
~He would worry more then he lets on, Somedays it gets so bad he wouldn't be able to work at the shop without hurting himself while trying to work on his truck.
~Expect an influx of gas station snacks to start showing up at the house, He wants to make sure your fully stocked in case he ever can't be there to cook something for you.
Vincent Sinclair:
~Wax Man is Worried.
~Vince would bend over backwards to ensure you eat regularly and have good food.
~He would leave entire projects if he had to, to make you a warm meal, He's the second best cook out of the Sinclair bros.
~He would keep snacks in his workshop, so you could cuddle up on his lap with a bag of chips or a pack of crackers and just relax. Sometimes if you come down to the workshop he'll shove them at you (Respectfully) and ensure you ate them.
~Totally makes Bo and Lester go into town REGULARLY to get ingredients, snacks and pretty much anything you want food wise to eat, If Bo complains to much, Vincent totally doesn't tell him he'd make a good wax figure...Totally not.
Lester Sinclair:
~The best cook out of the Sinclair's and also the most worrisome when it comes to worrying about you, You're in good hands!
~The cabins small kitchen will forever and always be filled with fresh food and leftovers made and bought by Lester himself for you, He will make it a point to everyday bring things for you from the nearby town and Ambrose itself.
~He'll take breaks from roadkill duty and come home to eat with you! Even if he's not hungry he'll do anything to ensure you can eat and eat comfortably.
~Easy and quick snacks are EVERYWHERE, In his truck, the cabin, the station in Ambrose, the main house, Even in the Ambrose movie theater and wherever else you might frequent in Ambrose.
~Lester is your own personal eating alarm clock.
Thomas Hewitt:
~You sometimes forget to eat? Don't worry tommy is on it!, poor tommy doesn't know how anyone could forget to eat, especially when it's Luda May's cooking.
~Every time you eat Tommy will make it a point to stare at you and ensure you eat enough and are ok afterwards, Bless his heart if it makes you uncomfy explain to our sweet boy gently, He just wants to make sure your safe!
~Tommy will make sure the kitchen is always stocked with meats galore (Animal or...Otherwise heh) He will make sure you get the freshest produce for Luda's garden as well.
~Tommy spends a lot of his time working, so he won't always get to eat with you, Expect to find messily placed little snacks and cakes of that sort around wherever you might be, He wants to make sure your eating but Hoyt probably yelled at him to get back to work.
~If he's gone all day without checking on you (Rare but sometimes it happens) Expect him to get out of bed at any time of night to retrieve you food, Tommy doesn't even care what Hoyt says, Your more important.
Hi, I saw some of your other matchups for tadc and decided to do this for myself! I will say very quickly that I'm not comfortable being paired with Jax.
Currently I'm questioning my sexuality and I'm okay with being paired with any character, my gender I'm also questioning right now but currently I use she/they! My personality is basically at first I'm very quiet maybe saying one or two things but when I open up to people I become very loud and make a lot of jokes, I try to be as kind as possible (like if I make a somewhat rude joke I almost immediately ask if it's okay after), can be very chaotic, very caring, and somewhat on the more sus side. The best way to describe my appearance is like with Ramona Flowers often I dye my hair new colors (though not as extreme with me waiting till it's faded or a few months later), I have a lot of freckles all over my body, I try to have a goth/emo look, and I have a few very small scars. I'm very creative writing fanfiction, drawing, and trying to make my own series, other then those I love learning about old fandom stuff and reading as well, I also really like learning about lore of different games but I'm not really a massive gamer, I also have a massive passion for theater! I'm an Aries as well and also have a lot of plushies that I sleep with every night!
For my partner I look for someone who can be there no matter what, someone to help remind me that I'm loved, someone who I can joke around with and just be there with. The love langue's I look for a partner are words of affirmation and physical touch, while the ones I myself have are words of affirmation and quality time. My fave date is something quiet like going to see a movie or going to eat out at a small hometown restaurant!
I hope this is good and thanks in advance! Also have an amazing day/night!
Hi and thank you for your request! I hope you have a good day/night as well!
YOUR MATCHUP IS…
GANGLE!!!
Tumblr media
You and Gangle would be a great match! You're both compassionate and caring, and not to mention creative. You would get along well and Gangle would be enamored by your unique personality and tastes, like your cool, colorful hair (even if she has a hard time admitting this because of how shy she is)!
You're both very quiet upon first meeting each other, which Gangle finds very comforting. I don't think she'd like if someone was very loud and excited with her from the get-go. You both take your time getting to know one another to open up to each other, and afterwards you're surely inseparable!
Gangle appreciates your kindness, and once she's comfortable with you, would love your jokes! She'll even reciprocate eventually with her own humor every once and a while. And when she's more open she would likewise tell you how happy you make her and how much she loves how caring you are.
Gangle loves drawing and writing and everything in between, especially when it's related to fandoms! She would love to share her works with you and vice versa, and would love to listen to your thoughts and opinions on any kind of lore. Creativity is very important to her, so suffice it to say it's one of her favorite parts about you. (And your love for theatre is also really cute given that's Gangle's theme.)
She would also love going on quiet, romantic dates with you whether that's walks around town or eating at small restaurants. She seems like a "watch a movie with snacks on the couch" kind of gal if you ever feel like staying indoors too. But anything you want to do is fine with her as long as she's in your company... and it isn't anything too loud or scary lol.
One of her favorite activities, though, is cuddling with her ribbons all wrapped around you since she knows how much you love physical affection. Plus, with all the plushies on your bed, she thinks it makes it the perfect cozy spot to relax and hang out together!
