part 2/3
Now we are on to part 2, and after watching the season finale, I hope people are starting to see that Lila really is not what she seems. From having a secret layer in the Beach Room of the Paris Catacombs, (the part that is technically off limits) to keeping an evidence board and lots of wigs and various colored contacts. She is the most unhinged character in all of Miraculous and for that I must respect her! She’s great and anyone would be crazy to not love her. She could murder someone and that would be so her you know? Anyways speaking of having evidence boards.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Tumblr media
Without further ado, lets get into what season 3 has to offer evidence wise in regards to my Lila theory, and let me tell you it’s a doozy.
Chameleon
Marinette is explaining to Alya and Nino why she doesn't trust Lila.
Marinette: "Fine I'll tell you everything" *proceeds to walk to a table with Alya following her, and she grabs Nino before he goes to sit by Lila with the rest of the class who are all captivated and fawning over her. Proceeds to drag Nino to where she and Alya are going to sit*
"You remember Lila when she first came to school right after the summer break? She was only here for one day, and then she left on that round the world trip. Everyone was... Captivated by her! Something just felt... Off to me. So I... Followed her."
Alya and Nino: "What?!"
*flashback to Volpina*
Marinette: "She lies with every breath!"
Nino: "Wait. You eavesdropped on Lila and Adrien? That's not cool!"
Alya: "A good reporter always verifies her sources. Can you prove she doesn't actually know Ladybug?"
Later when Marinette is confronting Lila in the bathroom
Lila: "I only tell people what they wanna hear."
Marinette: "It's called, LYING!"
Lila: "There's nothing you can do about it anyway. People can't resist when they hear what they like to hear. If you don't wanna be my friend? Fine. But soon you won't have ANY friends left at all, and trust me. I'll make sure you never get close to Adrien in class, or anyone. You are a little less dumb than the others, so I'll give you one last chance. You're either with me, or against me. You don't have to answer right away. I'll give you till the end of class today." *walks away flipping hair while Marinette is stuck cornered in the wall still, dumbfounded*
Marinette: "I thought Chloe was Evil, but Lila really takes the whole cake! She's like a supervillain who doesn't need a costume!"
Tiki: "You mustn't let her get to you Marinette!"
Marinette: "If I don't manage to expose her Lies, she'll ruin my life Tiki! She'll turn my friends against me! Including Adrian!" *anger intensifies*
Later after marinette clumsily evades an akuma, Lila sees Adrien.
Adrien: "Hey Lila!"
Lila: "Adrien! We'll have to figure out when you're going to help me catch up on all the schoolwork I missed! I also heard you play piano! My uncle was a great pianist from Berocha, he wanted to teach me when I was little, but I had to stop playing because of arthritis. But when my wrist gets better, I'd love for you to give me some lessons."
Adrien: "Lila. I'm perfectly happy being friends with you, and I'll gladly help you catch up on your schoolwork. But... Please don't lie to me like you did last time with Ladybug."
*Lila looks incredibly shocked, and she has a small flashback to Volpina when Ladybug called her a liar.*
Lila: "Ladybug's the liar."
Adrien: "I'm not judging you Lila. Instead of making friends, you're going to turn everyone against you. You can tell me if there's something bothering you. I can help! But you need to be honest with me."
Lila: "Are you trying to be some superhero lecturing me just like Ladybug did? Well thanks, but no thanks. Ugh."
Lila is turned into Chameleon, and her power is that she can kiss someone which knocks them out, and then she takes their appearance.
Onichan
Lila is talking to Adrien about getting help in catching up with her schoolwork, and she sees Marinette and Alya spying in on her.
Lila: "Why don't we go to your place to do our homework? It would be so much quieter wouldn't it?"
Adrien: "My father would never agree to that.
Lila: "I bet you I could change his mind!" *proceeds to run away while dragging Adrien*
*Marinette and Alya follow and see Adrien and his bodyguard and Lila*
Marinette: "There's no way Adrien's bodyguard will let her in the car."
*bodyguard proceeds to let her in the car*
Later while in the car
Lila: "What's the worst grade you've ever gotten?"
Adrien: "An A- in Math. Listen Lila, you should forget about this. My father can be harsh with anyone he thinks is an intruder."
Lila: "We're not doing anything wrong. Leave this to me." (I think it's interesting how confident she seems to be in getting everyone to do what she wants.)
*Walking up to the house*
Nathalie: "I'm sorry Adrien, but you know your father. He-"
Lila: "Excuse me ma'am, but is there any way I could ask him directly? Just in case?" (It's interesting that she insists on asking him herself.)
Nathalie: "Mr. Agreste is busy designing, and must not be disturbed for any reason!"
Lila: (she seems kinda surprised momentarily. Not noticeably though.)
Adrien: "I told ya so."
Lila: "Oh Adrien, I so wanted to help you make up all the school work you missed, due to all the modeling you've been doing lately. What will your father think if he finds out about your lower grades Adrien? Who will he believe?" (Lila looks toward Nathalie. I don't know. That last line seems to have a lot of weight to it.)
Nathalie: "Adrien! Have your grades gone down?"
Lila: "He'd never tell you himself, but when I saw Adrien crying the other day because he only got an A-? I just felt like I had to offer him my help! It would have taken half an hour."
Nathalie: *briefly looks puzzled and is considering*
Lila: "I understand. You're only doing what you think is best. I did what i could Adrien. Good luck."
Nathalie: "If it's only half an hour."
Lila: "if you really insist I'll do it." *grabs Adriens arm and runs inside*
Marinette: *from outside the gate where she had been listening in.* "Seriously? How does she do that?"
Later after some shenanigans, the time is up and Lila has to leave. While leaving, Gabriel comes out of his office. Gorilla instantly steps in front of Lila to hide her. She then jumps out from behind him to introduce herself.
Lila: "Mr. Gabriel Agreste! I am such an admirer of your fashion designs. This is the best day of my life!" *Gabriel clears his throat. Lila suddenly has a brief look on her face before suddenly changing her tactic* "I know how busy you are, so I won't take up any more of your time." *runs away* "have a good evening!" *continues running*
Later after Kagami has been akumatized into Onichan, she tracks down Lila and stalks her.
*Kagami runs past, and Lila looks around suspiciously but sees no one.*
*now Lila is walking extremely nervously, looking back and forth.*
Onichan: "Lila..."
*lila looks around again and then starts running away and hides behind a wall. She seems really nervous about something or someone. She then peaks out from the corner she's hiding in*
Onichan: "Lila Rossi."
*Onichan pops up and a surprised Lila gasps*
Onichan: "I forbid you from going anywhere near Adrien! Give up on him and I will spare you."
Lila: "Adrien- I don't know anyone named Adrie-"
Onichan: "Don't lie to me!"
Lila:
"I'm really sorry but I always get what I want. It's not my fault."
(This line is really interesting to me, especially when you look at Lila's face. It looks like she's being genuine about this fact.)
Ladybug
After Lila lies to undo her other lies that got Marinette expelled, Marinette talks to her outside Mr. Damocles office.
Marinette: "People should know better. Things aren't always what they seem to be at first sight. So, look. I don't know why you felt the urge to start all this, or why all of a sudden you lied to fix this mess, but I'm glad to see you're capable if coming back to your senses. Sometimes."
Lila:
"As you said, things aren't always what they seem to be at first sight."
Lila walks away leaving a confused Marinette.
About Chameleon
Chameleon’s powers are the ability to look like anyone, and even to take their place by putting them into a magical sleep. Based on what we know from season 5, this may be something that should be looked at more. For me something that comes to mind is Changelings from fairy tales. Changelings are when fairies will switch places with a human infant or toddler. Rarely will you see a changeling switch with an adult, and when it does happen the replacement is usually a log or something. Even then, the contemporary idea of changelings is quite different. In a lot of modern stories, they tend to be a type of fae that is capable of transforming, and looking like another person. Going back to the original idea of changelings though, depending on the story the motivations of a changeling would be different. In some cases they were the children of fairies being sent to be raised by humans, usually because fairies weren’t as good at taking care of their own children or something. This is also why adults would be taken and replaced, so that the fairies could make them become servants and nurses for their own children. Of course this still depends on the story, as there are other motivations as well. Sometimes the changeling is a fully grown fairy replacing the child, because the fairies wanted a human child for whatever reason. Sometimes the reason is to raise it as their own, other times it is to have it become a servant when it's older, etc. I’m not suggesting that Lila is a changeling, or even a fairy, but I do think the similarities are interesting, and who’s to say she isn’t perhaps some kind of fae or even half fae of some kind. There really isn’t a whole lot known about her at this point, and to be honest, this could be interesting.
About Onichan
While we’re on the topic of possible backstories for Lila, I think we should be asking what Lila was so afraid of in Onichan. She seems so uncharacteristically afraid. Especially considering that as far as she knows the only people who know she is lying are Adrien and Marinette, and neither of them are a threat. Of course anyone would be scared if some invisible voice was calling out their name ominously, but still. This makes me think that there may be something she’s running from. Maybe there’s a reason for why she is taking on so many identities as we see in season 5. I’m sure that many have seen the season 5 finale at this point, and I can’t help but wonder if perhaps there’s a connection between her fear in this episode as well as whatever that was at the end of recreation. And do not tell me that this was the ghost of Gabriel, or Nooroo. As far as I’m concerned, this is a completely new thing that we haven’t seen in the show yet. Maybe it’s Tomoe, or maybe it’s Majestia’s evil sister Ignoblia! She did make an appearance in Reunion after all, so maybe she’s going to be in season 6. There are so many possibilities, but I do think that it may be something relating to Lila’s past. If someone has that many secret identities, then they’re bound to have a few enemies they’re hiding from.
Lastly let's talk about Onichan for a minute. What Lila says, "I'm really sorry but I always get what I want. It's not my fault", this line has been really getting the gears in my brain going. I can’t help but to think that if she does have powers, then they go beyond just lying. Lying is merely a tool. I would suggest that she has a natural charm about her that makes people just like her and want to be around her. Whether she wants this or not. Another character with a similar ability that comes to mind is Piper McLean from the Heroes of Olympus book series by Rick Riordan. This power is called Charm speak. On the fan wiki it is described as “a type of hypnotism or persuasion in which it allows the speaker to convince someone else to do or get whatever they want”. Obviously I don’t think that Miraculous is in any way connected to the Riordanverse, (although that would make a fun au), but I do think it’s possible that Lila may have a similar power to Piper. This would explain why everyone's IQ apparently goes down to double digits whenever she’s around. It’s like they’re compelled to do what she says. To take this further, we can look at what Marinette says to Alya in Chameleon. “You remember Lila when she first came to school right after the summer break? She was only here for one day, and then she left on that round the world trip. Everyone was... Captivated by her! Something just felt... Off to me.” Like i know that everyone just thinks she happens to be good at lying/in some cases people claim that the writers just suck, but if you ask me this feels far more like foreshadowing and quite frankly I’m disappointed that no one else has picked up on this yet. Like I could rant all day about how confused I am at the fact that not once has someone considered that maybe Lila isn’t just a good liar. (In all fairness I watch way too many ARG videos/Gravity Falls changed the way I watch cartoons/I grew up watching unhinged cartoon and video game theories about adventure time and zelda so………). Back to what I was saying though, the evidence is right there. Lila is absolutely a liar, but she has a lot more to her than simply telling a goofy lie about saving a rockstars kitten that he probably never had from a runway.

I feel like the fact that Felix is created from the emotion of jealousy explained his behaviour in his first episode to some extent, the way he impersonated Adrien out of jealousy, because Adrien has friends and crush (which he couldn't has neither of those until the death of Colt, stated in Representation, Colt's has the power to control Felix's feelings whenever he is attached to someone)
Yea, at this point of the plot we can all agree that Adrien is abused by Gabriel, but it was not this worse before Gabriel lose his fricking senses, poor parenting and madness asided, he "loved" Adrien when he obeyed him.
In Felix's eyes, even if he's obeying his father, Colt would just beat him up real bad, both mentally and possibly physically. But Adrien could live under a false impression of love and freedom, was able to express his feelings and bonding with his friends occasionally, NOT knowing the fear that his life is bonded with a fucking ring. BUT still, Adrien did not fight for his authority despite he has much more chance than him (Felix clearly doesn't know Adrien is Chat Noir).
Heck, of course he is jealous.
And while he is created from jealousy, Adrien is possibly created from a more loving and positive emotions, talking about identity crisis.
The core ingredient of his soul, the feeling that he is different from all the other humans, and the difference between him and Adrien, the only one kin he has before Kagami, he is filled with jealousy.
Regardless of all of these, he forms a similar understanding with the sweet boi Adrien about parenting and life.
During Pretension, Felix said "your duty is to protect them, love them, help them discover their own meaning to their existence."
During Representation, Adrien/Chat Noir yelled "that have a child is to help them blossom, to grow, to find themselves and to be free!"
As in S5 we see Felix is becoming more soft and sentimental towards his mother, duusu, also Kagami, and how Kagami is helping him to trust and works with Labybugs, this boi is growing up form his past, and I can see he is going to be filled with much more joyful emotions other than the jealousy that created him, I think we are all looking forward for these kids' future. They are breaking their parents' curse.
But still, please get them all into group therapy.

still thinking about this myth where Heracles attacked Thanatos so he wouldn't take a soul of his friend's dear wife and Death had no other choice but to give up
additionally with this myth of Sisyphus I'm starting to think Thanatos is really having a HARD JOB AND NO ONE APPRECIATES IT

Ok nvm I'm following. Have a hc: zag gives a bottle of nectar to Nico as a gift and gets a mythomagic statue for the case
AKDHKWHDJAAH *SCREAMING SCREECHING SQUEAKING NOISES* OH GODS, YES!!!!
Zagreus and Nico trades little things. It started with Zagreus treating Nico in the lounge and taking him for a day out around and telling him about the Underworld. And later Nico told him about Mythomagic because Zagreus wanted to listen about the topside world.
And then that one tim Nico came back half-dead, Zagreus gave Nico this small vial of nectar that could contain more than it looked - enough to save a demigod from the brink of death - so that Nico could make a necklace out of it and kept it close for emergencies. (I’m literally making things up here)
So later Nico brought his Mythomagic collection to the Underworld to play with Zagreus. He also asked/bribed/threatened a Heasphateus camper (or Athena, i’m not sure) to make a figurine of Zagreus and gave it to him. They made up the cards and all sort of special effects and then fought over it bla bla——
And then it kept up like Zagreus makes Nico some sort of weapons/accessories and tells him about another funny corner in the Underworld and Nico buys him souvenirs of some country he has accidentally shadow-travelled to and tells him about whatever he has encountered there.

Just finished power players. Very good actually. Like surprisingly good. I wouldn't put it on the same level as miraculous or zak storm, but its just so campy and fun. I feel like it really captures what it's like to be a kid. Watching it i couldn't help but think of the games i came up with when i played with my own toys. It also has some really wholesome vibes, and there's a found family theme in it which i am definitely biased to.
That being said, i have so many questions that im not sure will ever be answered. Maybe one day zag will make another season? It is more recent then zak storm, so id say there may be hope for it?. Idk.
It really sucks though, because as much as i like miraculous, zag has some other shows that are overshadowed by its popularity. The worst case is Zak Storm, which is by all means a better show in most aspects than Miraculous, but i guess miraculous ended up being more marketable? From what i can tell, the networks that aired both zak storm and power players are not doing those shows any favors.
I believe zak storm aired on discovery kids or something? Which is a channel that i didn't even know existed. Then power players did play on cartoon network, but it looks like it was a show on their website, so it may not have even seen airtime on television. And if it did, it was probably aired early morning where cartoon network airs all the shows it doesn't care about.
As for ghost force, i have to say it is the weakest show from zag. That's not to say it's bad or that i don't like it, but it just has really weak writing at times, and the episode pacing is worse then miraculous. This would be understandable seeing as it is made to fit into the 11 minute segment whereas miraculous fits the 30 minute segment, but power players is also 11 minute episodes, and the pacing is far better. And by all means, even though power players does get repetitive in its episode formula, it feels far more inventive then ghost force.
I feel like the biggest problem that ghost force has though is that it is trying to be like miraculous. Like as different as the shows are, there are way more similarities then zak storm or power players have to miraculous. For goodness sake ghost force even has a food vendor character, and even though there are 2 other main leads the focus goes on the main girl (i do enjoy liv, but I'd like to see more from mike and andy), or should i mention how one of the main leads is rich and has a strained relationship with his single rich father?
I do think that one good thing going for ghost force is that since it is airing on disney channel, i believe it will get more eyes on it, which will give it plenty of room to grow into its own. Like there is a lot of potential there. So many of the story ideas and characters are interesting, and there are some interesting mysteries that I'd like to see solved. At the same time, it just really sucks that zak storm will probably never get the 2nd season it was renewed for.

Love's a Game- a jeyna fic
Chapter 3
"Mind a surprise?" Reyna asked.
"As long as I don't end up dead in a ditch on the side of the road," he replied. Now it was Jason's turn to nervously laugh. Please find that funny and not awkwardly embarrassing, he silently pleaded.
This was his first ever date (that was if Reyna had meant it as a date like he hoped) and saying he was nervous was an understatement. He'd never understood the guys who could walk up to any girl in class and flirt with her, how they didn't become a stuttering mess. Or how his friend Leo still managed to have a stellar sense of humor even when talking in front of half the school. People had never been his strong suit.
But Reyna chuckled, the sound deep and heartfelt, and Jason felt himself relax.
"I think I'd lose my sports scholarship to Gonzaga if I went to prison for murder, so consider yourself safe," she replied jokingly.
With that reassurance, she led him to her truck, which was a washed out pickup in the back corner of the lot. They piled in and with no inclination of where she was taking him, they set off.
A few minutes later they pulled into a gas station. Not exactly the type of place you'd take a date. Maybe Jason's hopes had been wrong and Reyna thought of him as nothing more than a friend, a familiar face from running in the same circles for so long. That would suck, but he'd rather accept it now than-
"This isn't the final stop, don't worry," Reyna spoke up. "I was thinking we could grab some snacks before we head there. Maybe ice cream?"
Oh thank god, the evening could be salvaged.
"Sure! I love ice cream," he replied. Who didn't?
They walked out with a pint of chocolate chip cookie dough and two spoons. The tub froze his hands on the way back to the car in the chilly late-November air, but he couldn't complain. They'd ended up buying his favorite flavor.
"Do you remember the hill behind the elementary school that we used to play on as kids?" Reyna asked once they were driving again.
Of course Jason remembered. Them and a few other kids had spent every day there until the 5th grade. He'd gotten his first concussion (but not his last, as cheer was a very concussion-prone sport) on that hill.
"I couldn't forget it. Don't tell me we're going there. Can you even get in after dark?"
The same smile as before spread across her lips.
"I know a way around back."
Jason laughed. They were going to break into a school playground.

Conférence Masterclass 808 (Translation)
I've taken the liberty of translating the conference that took place last year with the writing director of Miraculous (Sébastien Thibaudeau). It was only made public when someone posted a video of the conference a short while ago.
In this conference, Sébastien Thibaudeau will talk about the creation of Miraculous and his work on the series. He is joined by Chloé Paye, a new scriptwriter working on Miraculous season 6.
Sébastien talks a lot and repeats himself a bit, so the summary can be a bit confusing.
I strongly advise you to go and listen to the video if you understand French. There are a lot of details I'm going to leave out, and Sébastien is very funny.
Tumblr media
Photo belongs to mlbfanfr on twitter.
Please be respectful in comments or tags. If you want to debate on things related to this conference, please make your own post. I apologize if there are any mistakes, I'm French and I'm not fluent in English.
-12 years ago, Sébastien arrived at Zagtoon, a studio that was just starting out and had yet to produce and broadcast any series. The producer (Jérémy Zag) and Sébastien hit it off and decided to start working together. Zag decides to give Sébastien total freedom over his projects. Sébastien then decides to put the spotlight on scriptwriters, because in this profession they are unfortunately poorly paid and never stay on the same projects.
So they produced a cartoon called Kobushi. A little-known series that did rather well, even if it didn't stay on the "Gulli" channel for long. The scriptwriters and producer were happy with the end result, as it was produced in a very short time.
Jeremy Zag then proposed another project, which he thought was quite good, but which he was unable to sell to broadcasters. At the time, the project was called "Ladybug". No one was interested, as the project was aimed more at an adult audience than a children's audience. Sébastien had to make sure that the project could be broadcast on Disney and TF1.
There was only a "trailer" also called "Ladybug" (but you'll find the video under the title Ladybug PV) animated by Toei animation. At the time, Sébastien had not yet been hired by Zagtoon. It was Jérémy Zag who convinced Toei animation to work with them (no mean feat, since Toei animation doesn't work with anyone).
So Sébastien started working with Thomas Astruc (the man who wrote and created the "Ladybug" project). At first, he didn't want to work on this project because he found it complicated. Thomas wanted to make a series for adults, but at the time, it was very complicated to make a cartoon for adults. What's more, they didn't have enough money to take on such a project. Sébastien finally agreed, but there were some changes to be made, which Thomas accepted.
-What Sébastien appreciated most in this project was the romantic comedy, the love square between the two main characters.
To meet the requirements of the cartoon industry, "Ladybug" had to be set in a neutral universe, in other words, in an imaginary country or the USA, but Zag, who loves Paris, declared that the cartoon had to be set in Paris.
In the end, Thomas Astruc's entire project was discarded, leaving only the love story between the two heroes and the city of Paris, where the story was to take place.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Sébastien explains how he writes Marinette's first dialogues: He says he talks a lot in real life, so he writes Marinette like him. She says out loud whatever she's thinking.
For Chat noir, he makes him tell his father's jokes. Something TF1 doesn't accept. The TV channel went so far as to refuse to validate the Bible (a collection of information on the series and episodes) until it had removed the sentence: “Chat noir makes jokes”. Sebastien has therefore removed the sentence, but will continue to make Chat noir tell jokes.
-The writing director's job is to get the producer, creator and broadcaster to agree. The series broadcast on TF1 and Disney are very different. TF1 wants series whose story can be told in a single episode, unlike Disney, which wants series whose story spans several episodes.
Sébastien and TF1 agree that Miraculous will be a series with one story per episode, a "Formula Show".
He cites the example of Dora the Explorer episodes, where every episode is the same: Dora goes on an adventure from point A to point B, she has to find 3 clues, then she meets Swiper, she sings a song to make Swiper go away, she uses the talking map to get from one place to another, then Dora manages to get to point B and the episode ends.
This episode format is used for children, to give them a reassuring framework, as they build themselves up through repetition. That's why series like Dora work so well with young children.
So Sebastien sold the Miraculous series to broadcasters as a formula show. A person gets angry, is akumatized, then marinette transforms into Ladybug then frees the person from the akumatization and… The End.
It's also for this reason that Marinette tries to confess her love for Adrien in every episode, but is unable to do so.
But he tried to go against what he had planned with TF1, by slipping little extra stories into certain episodes. Audiences were receptive to these slightly hidden stories. The TV channel even asked Sébastien if there really were hidden things in the series, but he denied everything. Thanks to the positive reception from the public, TF1 agreed to develop the characters of Marinette and Adrien and flesh out the universe a little more.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Once the bible is written, they have to write a script. But first Sébastien, as writing director, needs to know the mood of the series, and to do this he calls on Thomas Astruc, the series creator. Thomas is a great fan of classical painting. A single painting can tell a complex scene with lots of detail. He wants the episodes of miraculous to be like these paintings, there will be very few shots, but in a single shot a lot will happen.
-Sébastien explains that one of the things Thomas wanted to convey in the series was emotion. They didn't want to do what a lot of children's cartoons do, which is to beat the bad guys and win at the end of the episode. They wanted to tell kids that it's normal to have negative emotions. We can also become better people, learn from our mistakes and so on. It also reassures TV channels by setting up scenes that are repeated in every episode: people get angry, people akumatize then people deakumatize, end of episode...
Once the TV channels had been reassured, they set about writing a script.
-Sébastien asks Thomas to write the ending, as they're not sure the series will work. They also wondered what the aim of the series was, and what they wanted to say to the children. The two of them sat down in an office and wrote the ending, which turned out to be just the end of an arc. He even adds that now that they've written a lot more, it's important for them to write in advance so that everything is clear to them.
-The first season was written by 19 authors, from home. He found it interesting that the series was written by several different authors, even if some of them didn't quite understand the premise of the series. One episode that Sébastien particularly appreciated was written by two “autrices” (I think it's weird to say “two female authors”, so I'll use the French word): the refletkta episode, with the story of Juleka who couldn't get into the photos. (Note that all the episodes were proofread by Sébastien and Thomas).
After that, they kept a few people on to work together on the scripts for subsequent seasons.
Sébastien explains that he keeps a close eye on the production of the episodes, to make sure that everything that goes into the picture is as faithful as possible to what they've written in the script.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-The kwamis exist thanks to Toei, who wanted funny little animals to sell plush toys. So the scriptwriters had to find a way to integrate kwamis into the story.
-(Again, Sébastien advises people to check out the Kobushi series if they can still watch it somewhere, or ask the leaker who leaked the whole of season 5 to give them the episodes (that's a joke, of course)).
-Sébastien talks about the Ikari gozen episode, which could have been a total failure because the storyboarder didn't fully understand the scenario. Sébastien asks Zag to redo the storyboard, which will add 10 weeks to the episode's deadline. The storyboarder admits that he's always done storyboards mechanically, without worrying whether the episode is good or not, whether the jokes are funny or not. Eventually, the episode was redone by the same storyboarder, resulting in the episode we all know today.
- They still have a lot to tell with Miraculous, to the point where they're wondering if they'll have enough seasons to tell everything they want to tell. Sebastien says there will be a season 6 and 7, and probably a season 8 and 9.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Chloé Paye met Sébastien when she was looking for an internship. She had never worked in animation, and knew nothing about Miraculous. She tells us how the scriptwriting team works. Each time, all the scriptwriters in the room have to be convinced of the script. They can sometimes spend hours on details to get everyone to agree.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The driving force behind the series is that there must always be a secret between Marinette and Adrien. The lovesquare can never be broken, otherwise there's no series. Sébastien knows that some people are worried about this. Will they continue the lovesquare for another 4 seasons or more? How will they evolve? Sébastien says not to worry, they know where they want to go.
-It takes them 14 to 16 months to produce an episode, but it's often much longer due to unforeseen circumstances. And they don't work on one episode at a time, but on several at the same time. One episode takes a long time because of the 3D animation.
One of the things that's complicated with Miraculous 3d animation is that they can only display 3 characters at a time on screen, whereas the series requires them to display many more characters. It's also very difficult to correct animation errors, as this takes a lot of time.
-The TV networks were very surprised by the success of miraculous. They didn't think adults and children alike would watch the series. The TV channels were a little confused because they usually make series for a specific age group, but since miraculous had people of all ages watching, they weren't sure what to do.
- Sébastien says he's very happy that miraculous inspires a lot of people to create things, like writing fanfiction, however he's not interested in it because he doesn't want to be influenced by certain fans who would love to see certain things in the series.
- Writing direction also means paying attention to how the characters speak. They all have their own way of speaking. For example, Adrien will never say "j’te parle", but rather "Je te parle".
- During the writing process, the writers sometimes act out scenes to make the dialogue more natural. This is what happened with the episode "Gang of secrets". They felt that, with the success of the show and the pressure it was generating, they needed to write something to relieve their stress. So they wrote about Marinette and the enormous pressure she was under to keep all her secrets. The final scene, in which Marinette tells Alya that she's Ladybug, came naturally when they performed it together.

the way kumatora is an inversion of the effeminate waifish rpg mage girl trope, zagging on you with a brazen personality and a rotten mouth totally opposite from what you'd expect. how she's not afraid to fight with her fists, neither. how the natural "modern day" equivalent of a mage's robe is of course a baggy oversized hoodie.
duster is what if the morally dubious conniving rogue was instead just a really nice humble neighbor of yours. what if instead of being the classic cocky thief, he was sheepishly insecure in his abilities. what if instead of being a dashing sexy badboy he was older and kinda lumpy lookin. fuck it, give him a limp for good measure.
the mother protagonists that preceded him were also sensitive spins on the cool brave rpg hero trope, and lucas carries the mantle faithfully, but he also cranks it to a whole other level. where most heroes with dead loved ones use tragedy merely as a springboard into retaliatory action and righteous vengeance, lucas spends three years crying soberly at hinawa's grave. and never stops missing her. mother 3 condemns the "revenge story" right out the gate in chapter 1 with claus & flint - and instead lets lucas process his grief in soft and vulnerable ways most heroes are never granted.
most games with animal party members feature epic mythical creatures, or adorable talking sidekick critters, or badass beasts with magical powers. boney is literally just a dog. fucking based.
