In love
Tumblr media
Pairing: Neteyam x Y/n, one-shot, angst
Growing up, you'd  hear of happy endings that include mating with the mate that Eywa destined you to be with. You'd live together, strong with the bond as you'd raise a family while always reaching for the better version of yourselves- You had seen this happen many times in your tribe and closely with your parents. The glow of love that surrounded the loved ones, represented the presence of Eywa herself.
"You'll know when you'll meet the one." Your mother would smile down at you, slightly grazing your chin as she listened to your worries of love. You tried to believe your mother, you really did, Your whole life you had watched from the sidelines as your friends and other members of the tribe announced their mating, love and assurance blooming. Happy to be a witness to Eywa's doings, sad to not be the one in Eywa's eyes.
  And finally it happened.
Your eyes met those piercing yellow ones and you knew. The moment you had waited your whole life, the one your mother and Eywa had promised to you. Suddenly you were filled with feelings of fullness, wholeness that you never even dreamed of feeling. When Neteyam's eyes graced over your existence, you felt your breath hitch in your chest.
But you had to learn the hard way that Eywa had planned a different ending planned for you.
The sea sat still as if it was scared to move. You sat still, feet sinked into the sand keeping you from breaking down. It was calm as if before the storm. You felt that in you, the calmness and the storm slowly brewing. You were scared of yourself.
"Hey." Neteyam slowly stepped closer to you, careful not to scare you away. As he slowly sat down you dared to glance at him, feeling a slice of pain as you felt the pull towards him. Why did Eywa do this to you? Why did you do this to yourself? You should just walk away, be as far away from him as possible so that you wouldn't be in the way of his happy ending. You should just be content with your role.
"Congrats." You suddenly said, voice cold and eyes stern, not giving him another glance Neteyam sighed and placed his hand behind you as he leaned to it and towards you. Neteyam knew he should stay away, one wrong move and he would risk everything.
Neteyam had sought to see you the whole day. His parents and the tribe leader had organized a mating that would benefit everyone but Neteyam. He knew who he wanted. You. It was as clear as the sun from the moment he laid his eyes on you. He felt the pull towards you, as if you were water and he was dying. He thought you had felt the pull too since you were getting closer by the moment. The slight glances that you'd give him and the grazing touches that would replay in his mind all day, distracting him from anything.
"I'm not in love with you anymore." You suddenly blurted, swallowing the tears and pain. You heard your heartbeat in your ears ringing, reminding you of the bitter fate.
Neteyam stared at you, his mouth agape. You were in love with him? He knew the feelings were mutual but as deep as his? But what broke him was that he had lost you. He truly had lost you, his Eywa. His stomach sank and he breathed out the last bit of air that flowed in his lungs. The ground that kept him down shook.
"I didn't know you ever were.."
"Would it have changed anything?" You carefully asked, scared you'd just cut the wound deeper.
Neteyam answered in a heartbeat. "It would have changed everything."
Finally you stared back into those piercing yellow eyes and you knew, you'd have your happy ending.

If only you'd love me
Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve x Y/n, one-shot
TV screen softly blazed in the frantic waiting room of the ER. The reporter sternly explained to the viewers what happened in New York few hours ago. The camera showed earlier filmed videos of the dark man destroying, hurting everything that stood in it's way. He was big, muscular and had a dead look on his face.
Steve's shield appeared fast as a bullet but the man catched it. Steve took advantage of the man's concentration on the field and landed a punch on his face.
You turned your face away before you could see what the man did to him.
  "Miss Y/n?"
You jumped out of your chair and walked towards the nurse who had promised to come and pick you up when you could see Steve. Behind the corner was Fury, waiting for you. Your stomach sank.
  "I knew you'd come."
You pressed your lips together as he started walked beside you. Fury observed you closely. He hadn't seen you since you left the Avengers compound doors banging and cries ringing through the halls. He was surprised you were this calm when usually you couldn't hold in your emotions.
"Please wait here for a moment." The nurse said as they entered a closely monitored hospital room. The door clicked as it closed, leaving you alone with Fury. His eyes never left your face.
"How are you?" Nick asked, face leaning a bit downwards, trying to see your eyes better. You lifted them up to meet his as you sucked in your breath, trying to keep yourself together.
A weak smile on your face, you answered "I'm ok." And moved to stare at the door before you.
"He hasn't been since you left."
  Stab.
"But I understand, this life isn't for everyone."
  Stab.
Fury glanced down at your hands which were balled up. Slowly he took a step towards you, placing an arm on your shoulder. You turned up to look at him, tears slowly building up in your bright eyes. He eyed you for a bit and squeezed your shoulder in a comforting matter.
"No one ever said this life is easy, but if this life wouldn't be for you, you wouldn't be standing here once again."
  Once again...
The door clicked open as the nurse let you in. As you stepped into the quiet room full of beeping and heavy breaths, you heard the door close behind you, leaving you alone in the room with Steve.
You gripped your handbag as hard as you could. Maybe if you squeezed tight enough, you would have the power to be there. You stared at the still body before, only sign of life was his chest rising and falling in a steady beat. The beat you lived for.
Your steps echoed as you sneaked to stand beside him. His eyebrow had stiches, his cheekbone was purple, right eye was swollen, his lip busted and chin bruised. A sob escaped out of you. You can't imagine how much he was in pain. How much it took out of him to breath.
Slowly you sat down beside him, hands still gripping you handbag. You were as still as he was before you, scared if you moved his chest would stop moving. After a few minutes you had to speak.
  "I can't let you go."
  Peep. Peep.
"I just wish you'd love me like you love doing the right thing."
  Silence.
"I hope you miss me because I miss you."

Let you go
Tumblr media
One-shot, Pairings: Evan Buckley x You
You stared at the person who stood before. The person who you thought you knew completely, the only one person who would never let you down. The only person you could count one. Hair in a complete mess, lips slightly swollen from last night, eyes brighter than ever and skin glowing.
You were like a completely different person.
As you pulled your hair into a ponytail and washed your face with refreshing water, you leaned against the sink and contemplated on your sanity. What the hell did you do? This isn't like you to just lose control and sleep with a stranger.
But there was something about that man. He was so genuine and yet still so enticing. Typical playboy but what made him different was how he opened up to you after the sex. You stayed up so long, talking about life. Your hopes and dreams, fears. Honestly, it felt good.
That scared the hell out of you so you did the only thing that was logical after that. You sneaked out before he could wake up.
Days had gone by and you still found yourself getting lost while reliving the night. The kisses, whispers you shared, his fingers grazing your skin. You got goosepbumps at just the thought of them.
"Who's picking you up today? Your dad?" You asked as Christopher walked beside you towards the entrance of the school. Christopher was usually the last kid to be picked up. Secretly you liked that, he's such a good kid. Cristopher loved bringing joy to everybody and he was the life of the party at school.
"Bucky will pick me up. Dad is working." Christopher said as we ascended the last steps of the stairs.
You placed your hand behind Christopher, ready to catch him if he lost balance with his walking sticks. In this profession of the things you learn that the kids can handle themselves and should be given more credit. But there was a parental part of you that wanted to be ready and help if needed.
  "Who's Bucky?
Bucky had tried to convince himself that you were just one of his many one night stands. One that would be a memorable one but he quickly realized that wasn't the case. He found himself thinking of your laugh that rang through the quiet room in the night, of your eyes as they turned a shade brighter when you talked about your slight obsession on Brooklyn 99.
When he saw you ascending down the stairs he couldn't believe his eyes. There you were, laughing at something that Christopher had said. This had to be destiny right?
"I am. Hi." Bucky shyly smiled as he pushed his hands into his pockets
Soon Bucky's happiness changed to insecurity as he saw the look on your face. You wanted to turn around and run in the opposite direction and he could see that. He didn't know what reaction he was expecting but it wasn't that terror on your face.
"Hi." You suddenly blurted out as you quickly turned to look at the boy next to you. You placed your hand on his shoulder and smiled, desperately trying to mask the shock in your voice and face.
"I'll see you tomorrow Christopher. "
"Byee." Christopher smiled and waddled over to Bucky who welcomed him with open arms.
"Hi buddy! Could you go and wait in the car? I'll be right over."
Crap. You pressed your lips together as they started to tingle at the sight of his own. He was even better looking than you remembered. Eva- or Bucky, whatever his name was. He had a beautiful model smile and height that left you feeling small. But what stood out was his eyes. They were so bright and genuine, just like you remembered.
"Hi." He said once again to steady himself. Kind smiles were shared.
"I thought you were Evan." A laugh escaped out of him as he quickly glanced at the ground, taking the opportunity to let his eyes travel from your shoes to your eyes.
"I am. My name is Evan Buckley but friends call me Buck or Bucky."
You smiled at him, professionally. "I see."
This was very awkward. Silence surrounded you two as you both tried to wrap your heads around the situation.
"So I just have to say this." He rubbed the back of his neck, trying to find the right words. "I don't want to let you go."
Your eyebrows shot up. "Excuse me?"
"No, I mean that, umm." Bucky laughed, hand running through his hair as he collected himself. He had asked women out many, many times. Bucky 2.0 just wasn't very suave anymore with women who were out of his league anymore.
"Are you trying to ask me out?" You laughed as you looked at the suddenly very nervous and flustered man before you. He visibly relaxed under your gaze as you took the words right out of his mouth.
  "I am. "
You pulled out your calendar from your bag and quickly scribbled your name and number on an empty page. You walked down the last step and approached Bucky with confidence. This was your cliche movie moment and you owned it with pride.
Bucky's eyes traveled your movement as you approached him. He was very into his, into you. This was why he couldn't stop thinking of you. You went after what you wanted. And currently, you wanted him.

Damn stupid
Tumblr media
One- shot, Pairings: Bucky Barnes x You
The rooms of the interrogation room were blank grey like the floor and the ceiling and the chairs and the table. Very boring and tiring room. You had actually never seen one, they were a little bit different from the movies and series. There was no mirror on the wall or a metal railing on the table where the suspect could be handcuffed to. Or maybe you got a normal waiting room, reserved for not so dangerous people.
"I'm sorry I got you into this mess."
Your turned to look at your partner in crime sitting next to you, looking anywhere else than you. You pressed your mouth together and slightly smiled. "If we're accurate, I got you into this mess."
Bucky laughed slightly, the sound echoing in the empty room. He had a slight stubble lining his jawline and he had started growing his hair a bit longer again. Something he had not been planning to do, but once you commented how good he looked with that, he decided to do it. Of course, you had no idea he did that because of you. Honestly, you were so oblivious. He was head over heels for you, hence the situation you both were in now.
You two had decided to go for a few drinks since the weekend was starting and the situation had escalated. A girl had tried to hit on Bucky but got rejected by him and she took it out on you. Bad mouthing about you in the bathroom to some randoms and at the counter. You had enough about that after you heard her talking to what you had counted to a seventh person. Some words were exchanged between you, then some pushing around and before you knew it you were in your first ever bar fight. Bucky only tried to keep you safe and pull you away from her but things got complicated when the other girl's boyfriend came to pick her up.
Bucky finally got the courage to glance at you but quickly looked away when he saw the dried blood below one of your nostrils. He hated himself for letting you get hurt. Your safety was always his number one priority.
You noticed his brows furrowing after he had glanced at you. Wanting to lighten up the mood, you laugh a bit and push his shoulder lightly. "You should see the other girl."
He shook his head a smile forming on his lips. "I did."
The door suddenly opened as Dr Raynor strutted inside and sat on a chair across from you two. You took notice of one folder in her hands as she sighed, glancing between you two. She was a strict woman let alone a therapist.
"You are a constant pain in my ass." She simply began, opening the folder.
"Will we be out of here soon?" You asked, careful not to poke the bear any more than necessary.
  "You, yes. Him, no."
You and Bucky looked at each other, not surprised how it went to that. Yes, Bucky had conditions in his case that demanded that he would not break the law or hurt anyone and he had been caught doing that.
"But it was not Bucky's fault. He didn't start it, I did." I leaned forward towards Dr Raynor who looked at me unphased. Bucky placed his leather covered hand on my knee and looked into my eyes a small smile playing on his lips. He knew it wouldn't help but he appreciated your efforts.
A sigh escaped out of you as you slumped back into your chair. "Well, how long are you going to keep him here?"
"You and your boyfriend got big plans for tonight?" Dr Raynor asked, eyes analyzing every movement. Bucky quickly pulled his hand back embarrassed and slightly annoyed with Dr Raynor. She definitely knew what she was doing.
"He's- He's not my boyfriend." You breathed out. You were taken back by her ruthlessness. She either, in this five minutes figured out how you felt about or Bucky had said something to her in their therapy sessions. It couldn't have been the second option since you two were only friends, so simply said she was way too good at her job.
"You better tell him that then."
You looked at Bucky confused. Eyebrows furrowed you tried to meet his blue eyes but he once again looked anywhere else than at you.
"Only love makes you that crazy-" Dr Raynor began, eyes traveling between your two frozen bodies. "And that damn stupid."
Soon enough you were let out.. Jacket wrapped around you, you sat down on one of the cushioned waiting chairs, determined to wait for Bucky's release. People walked in and out, chatter filling the place.
Could it be that it was not at all about the girl bad mouthing about you but about Bucky getting hit on? Did you use that as an excuse to attack on that girl? No you were not that petty to actually attack a girl because she tried a guy you fancied. Right? He was good looking and his musky scent just pulls you into him and- and his presence just takes over any room he steps in. You couldn't blame her, you are just as attracted to him as she was. Definitely more.
Few hours later Bucky appeared from the double doors a police officer quick on his heel. The officer stayed at the doors, eyes trailing Bucky as he spotted you sitting in the waiting room. Emotionless look on his face, he walked towards you with a stride. Your eyes traveled over his metal arm that was visible to everybody as he had his jacket in his hands.
As you stood up, you wanted to reach for him, ask about what they said or if he was in a lot of trouble. But before you could do that, Bucky collided into you. His hand quickly found your waist as the other one was placed on your cheek. He pulled you into him, overtaking your lips into his. He was demanding, and still so careful and sweet. Your lips moved in a slow rhythm, enjoying every second.
It ended too fast as he pulled away from you. His blue eyes meeting yours as he anxiously waited for your reaction. After you had walked out of the room, Dr Raynor had given him a talking about how he should allow himself to experience life. You were a big part of this talking as she had seen how you had blushed at the mention of him being your boyfriend.
Your eyes gleamed as you gazed up at Bucky, smiles taking over both of your faces. You slid your hands down his arms into his hands, enjoying every touch of flesh and the cold metal.
"We need to come up with a better first kiss story." You laughed as you two turned towards the exit. You leaned against Bucky's shoulder as he smiled widely, glad that for once Dr Raynor gave a good advice.

Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n, angst and fluff
The rain poured down upon you as you placed your feet into the warm water. The sea stared back at you, waves silently lapping in the distance. Inviting you to come further. Something about the sea calmed you. The storm in you slowly settled down as you stepped deeper into the waterthat was now reaching your hips.
A deep breath escaped your lips as you pushed back the tears threatening to fall down. The day you had been waiting for was sooner than ever. Tomorrow you would be standing at the very same place where you first laid eyes on him, the very same place you had your first kiss. This time you would be saying goodbye to him. You felt your stomach turn at the thought of never seeing him again.
He could never know how you felt about him. Neteyam deserved to go and live his life to the fullest. Ever since he came here, he had always talked about "home", his omaticayan clan. You knew how much he longed to return there, how much he missed the feeling of belonging somewhere, even thought he hid it well from everyone.
"Eywa, please keep him safe... I'm not ready to lose him." You whispered as a soft cry escaped out of you. You opened your eyes, prepared to see the moon as your only company but instead you found yourself staring at a blue figure on an ilu, slowly making their way towards you.
You didn't want to see him, not right now. The moment you had been avoiding all day catched up to you, catching you off guard. Neteyam slowly slid off of the animal, eyes never leaving your figure. You gulped as you quickly wiped your tears. If he knew how much his leaving affected you he would doubt it. He needed to leave.
 "Y/n, are you alright?"
You smiled at him, tuning your voice up. "Yeah, I'm alright. Just enjoying the calm evening." Neteyam continued his way towards you, making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. He was your safe place, the one you knew you could turn to but now he looked at you like a hunter, the warrior he had been training for his whole life. His braided hair flew from one side to another as he stepped closer and closer to you, revealing more of his body, you found yourself blushing. He was no longer the young forest boy but a man wanting to find his own path.
Neteyam looked at the smaller person in front of him and felt his heart grimace in pain. You smiled up at him, eyes full of tears reflecting the moonlight. You had your arms wrapped around yourself, mimicking a hug as you had never felt so alone.
He loved you more than anything. If there ever was one thing he would be sure of, it would be you. Yes, Neteyam missed his home and wanted to end that chapter of his life in a way that calmed him but he had always planned to return to you, for you. Did you not see that? Were you not that sure of him as he was of you?
"I'll be back." Neteyam said his voice low, only for you to hear. You shook your head, eyes looking distant into the sea. You thought he's only saying that to calm you down, to make it easier for you but he would do it for himself too. He found himself happiest by your side. You were his home now.
"I only ask for you to be safe."
"I will be safe here with you." Neteyam reassured, his calloused hand finding your cheek. His eyes were so beautiful, they had different shades from light brown to bright yellow surrounding his black iris'. There was something in his eyes that you hadn't seen in a long time. Warmth, love, promise.
"I can't hold you back." You quietly said, placing your hand upon his. You could never forgive yourself if he gave up everything he had longed for, for you. You weren't ready to carry the weight of his sadness, regret.
"You could never hold me back." Neteyam took a small step closer to you, inches between you two. His big frame overshadowing you, you continued looking up at him slightly smiling down at you, the very same smile that still to this day wakened up the butterflies in you. Neteyam leaned down, his forehead meeting yours as you breathed in his smell. The sea calmed you down but you had never felt so at peace than in this moment, in Neteyam's arms.
"I'm yours to come back to." You said before he placed his lips right where they belonged.

Bait
Tumblr media
Pairings: Lo’ak x Y/n, fluff
You were bad news from the start. Lo'ak knew it the moment you looked up at him and smirked, scrunching your nose a little. From that moment he knew he lost. How could he put up with you? Resist you when you won before the chase even begun?
His eyes traced every stripe that covered your body as you pushed Aonung back, your laugh like music around the beach. Much like Lo'ak expected, Aonung took a step back from the force of your push, smile still on his face but clear bruise in his ego. Idiot, he doesn't realize who he's playing with.
"Damn, bro. Still here? Are you frozen in place?" Neteyam joked as he appeared from behind Lo'ak and immediately slapped him in the back of his head. Lo'ak furrowed his eyebrows and glared at his older brother. Still, Lo'ak didn't move a muscle. He was right where Neteyam last saw him, Leaning against a tree, gazing at the beach where you danced around having fun.
"Bro, look at her. She's a beast." Lo'ak crossed his arms and nodded towards you, glancing at his brother. He had no idea, but he had the look of an adoring puppy on his face. Neteyam smiled at his little brother, slightly surprised how smitten he was. Turning his head back where Lo'ak was directing, Aonung had found himself in a tight spot between your arm and torso. After a few seconds, Aonung tapped on your arm to signal you to let go and you did, smiling widely as you had once again bested the boys.
"Yeah, she's the beast and you're the bait."
Lo'ak hated when his brother downgraded him, but a part of him was glad that he also recognized the power you held. You were beautiful, funny and strong. How hot is that?
"Pff, yeah right." Lo'ak saw his opportunity and returned the favor of smacking Neteyam in the back of his head. He started walking backwards towards the beach but as he turned around to look at his big brother, a cocky grin took over his face as he lightly smiled, cocking his head up.
"I'll gladly be the bait if she'll be the one to chew me up."

Pairings: Jj Maybank x Y/n, fluff
As the alcohol flowed down your throat you felt yourself get number by every gulp. Exactly what you wanted. Sometimes it was good to just feel nothing and give yourself a break. Yeah, this was good for you and not at all bad. You looked at the empty cans of beer around you as you sat at the beach alone. This doesn't look pathetic at all. As you were thinking about looking pathetic, you realised that you clearly weren't drunk enough. The beer can sizzled as you popped the can open ready to empty it in one gulp.
"Y/n?" Jj came from behind you. He saw a dark figure at the beach on his way to the chateau, but as soon as he recognized the mysterious figure he had to stop by. Jj hadn't seen you in a long time, ever since you and Rafe started hanging out. He hated it.
"Jj! Hi! Come, sit." You smiled and patted the place next to you, cleaning it quickly from empty cans. Jj hesitatingly came and sat next to you, leaning back on his hands. You were happy to see him. As you stared at him you thought if his hair had gotten longer, you liked his blond mess on his head.
"You ok?" He slowly asked as he looked at the cans round you, clearly worried but tried hiding it with a chuckle. You make a questionable sound and ignore his question, deciding to drink the can. Jj's eyes widened as you drank, drank, drank and drank until you threw the empty can somewhere behind you. You turned to look at his beautiful bright eyes, focusing on the color of them rather than the worried aura that surrounded him.
"You can talk to me." Jj said softly, his brows furrowed.
"No, I can't. Not about this." You simply said, turning to look at the sea before you. It reminded you of his eyes. You didn't want to think about Rafe, it was better to think about Jj who was there.
"Y/n, I know we haven't been hanging out in a long time but I'm here."
You lift your hand to your hair and brush through it quite aggressively. "That's just what I thought! He's not here and you are." You turned around to look at him, really look at him. You couldn't help but notice how close he is, how close his lips are. Before you think about it too much you lean towards him, wanting to remove the taste of the beer.
Jj leans back, putting his hand on your shoulder, stopping you. "Woah, tiger." He laughs surprisingly. He knew you were fucked up but to be this fucked up to try and kiss him out of the blue?
"Oh..." You lean back, face red of embarrassment. Gosh, what did you do? You always thought that there was chemistry between you two and flirting but he didn't even want to kiss you. This hit you even harder than Rafe telling you to fuck off and throwing you of his house.
"No! I didn't mean it like that, I just-" Jj rubbed his neck and sighed. Fuck it. A chuckle escaped out of him as he lightly smiled to himself. "I want our first kiss to be more romantic. You deserve to remember it."
What did he say? You slowly took your face from your hands and turned to look at him, he was smiling with a light pink flush on his cheeks. Jj wasn't normally like this but he let his guard down since you weren't going to remember this anyway.
 "You.. Want to kiss me?"
Jj really laughed and threw his head back, looking back at you with a shy smile on his face. "Yeah, I do." Jj had imagined it so many times, embarrassingly many.
Slowly a smile crept up your face as what he said sunk in. Ok, this was good. Really good.  "I want to sober up." You slurred and leaned on his shoulder t look at the sea. Once again Jj laughed.
"That's not happening in a while but when you do, I'll kiss you."

The rays of sun pt. 2
Tumblr media
Pairings: Neytiri x Y/n, fluff
You had enough. The hiding, lies, secrecy, guilt. You wanted to be free, Neteyam deserved to be free. Neither of you asked for this nor wanted it, but you couldn't deny it. You felt so cold everytime you left Neteyam's side, you were slowly freezing in place. Something needed to be done.
As the tall woman appeared with her youngest child by her side, insecurity filled you up. You felt your hands sweat, suddenly you became aware of every muscle tensing up. What if she is against this? What if she can't help? What if-
Before the thoughts overtook your mind, you found yourself staring deep into her primal eyes. Neytiri placed her hand on Tuk's head in a loving way and said something quietly to her, eyes never leaving yours. Tuk grinned and soon she was running deeper into the village.
Neytiri was a strong woman, well respected. She was a talented fighter and even stronger than she let on. She was a woman to be feared. But Neytiri was also a mother, loving one. You would often see her smile own her own as she gazed at her children, braid their hair and teach them. The love she had for her children was beautiful.
 "Neytiri, I-"
Without a word, she turned her cold back to you and walked into their home. A cold shudder ran through your body as you stared at the spot where she stood. You turned around to look at the sea as tears filled your eyes. What was that? That was an answer. The cold was stronger than ever.
You felt a presence next to you and as you turned your head, you found yourself staring at a bow. Slightly turning back to look, Neytiri stood behind you, eyes glued to you. Slightly unsure you took the bow from her. With arrow in her other hand, Neytiri said "Shoot."
You took the arrow and with slow movements took a stance. You felt like a prey as Neytiri walked around you, staring. Every once in a while you felt tapping on your arm as a sign to lift it more, touching your back to straighten it more. When your stance pleased her, she took a step back. You looked at the sea before you that was surrounded by the yellow hues of the sun going down. Breath in... Breath out... Breath in...
The arrow flew through the air, piercing the rays of sunlight that landed upon the sea.
"You make a great archer." Neytiri placed her hand on your shoulder.
You looked at the tall woman who stood behind you. Tears slowly filler your eyes as your goal of speaking to her became more prominent in your mind. This needed to be done, said. "I love him." You whispered as you gazed down, hiding your tears.
Neytiri looked at this beginning of a woman before her and she couldn't help but smile. She saw so much of herself in you. Unsure of family and future but not love. The only thing as sure as Eywa. She saw how happy you made Neteyam and that was all she wanted for him. You were his happiness. Neytiri gently swiped your strands of hair behind your ear as she whispered back to you.
 "I know."
You looked back up at her, surprised. How did she know? You and Neteyam had tried so hard to be discreet. You were sure that everyone would oppose this, they would take Neteyam away from you.
"Listen to your heart." Neytiri gave you one last smile as she took the bow from your shaking hands. Your eyes followed her every movement as you realized what this all meant.
You could finally enjoy the rays of sun with Neteyam.

Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n, fluff and angst
Under the night sky, you sat on top of him. Neteyam stared up at you as you braided the front pieces of his hair. You were so focused, tongue pressed between your lips and brows furrowed. You were so adorable, pure and out of his reach.
Neteyam was conflicted, you were his and yet you would never be his. It was a dangerous game that you played, but you both knew you wouldn't be able to resist it. The pull, attraction. You were chained to each other but a key could never free you. He hated this but he loved you so much, he was willing to live in pain as long as he got to be with you. He felt Eywa with you.
Your hands found their place on both sides of his face as you gently wiped one single tear that had fallen down Neteyam's cheek. You smiled at him, trying to mask the pain that you felt. The very same one Neteyam felt every time he felt your touch. You burned his skin and still he longed for your touch. His skin was filled with memories of you.
You were meant for someone else, or so it was told. You would listen every day of talks about who your heart was dedicated to, with who you would live a life and form a family with. You silently suffered as you faked every day to love someone who made you feel absolutely nothing, all while Neteyam made you feel everything.
With Neteyam you hid from the daylight and burried your sins. With Neteyam you drank the poison from the same vine. Neteyam was all you ever wanted.
And yet, it was Neteyam who had to hide from the rays of sun with you.

Every night
Tumblr media
Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n, Fluff
Every night he would watch you walk away from him, heading towards your home to go to sleep after an evening full of laughter and sea shells. Neteyam would stand every night at the same place, his feet rooted to the ground and his eyes glued to your disappearing frame.
He was scared of you. You were something so much more than what you seemed. You were better, stronger and a better fighter but you were also gentle, kind and full of life. He wasn't prepared for that.
But that made it all so much better.
Once again night fell upon you as you were collecting shells. Neteyam walked to his place but quickly stopped as he noticed that you sat down in the sand, face towards the sea legs crossed. He slowly walked back to you and found himself sitting down towards you.
You smiled at him, "Close your eyes."
Neteyam watched you close your bright eyes. He took this moment in and sighed as his eyes travelled you. How your hair fell around your face, how you breathed in and out in a calm rhythm, how your ears twitched at the smallest of sound that was heard. You were Eywa to him.
"Neteyam, close your eyes." You said once again as you sensed that he did something completely else.
Finally Neteyam closed his eyes at your request and focused on his other senses. He heard the birds chirping, your steady breathing and the sea which lapped against the beach, he felt the moist air, the sand between his toes. It all united to make a symphony of life, nature, Eywa.
You reached out into the darkness and took his hands into yours as your eyes remained closed. His skin was warm and lived. You felt as he gripped your hands back, soft but firm. It was physical touch but to you it meant more.
"Listen as the sea whispers to the moon." You quietly said as you opened your eyes, only to find Neteyam looking at you. His lips were parted as he breathed, steady but sure. You don't know why but you felt the need of more. As if Neteyam read your mind, he lifted you hand up and placed it on his chest, on his heart.
A whisper escaped from your lips, "Right in front of me."
Neteyam leaned to you, his forehead gently touching yours as he whispered back to you, "Right in front of me."
The sea whispers to the moon, how the love is right in front of them.

Every evening
PART 2 OF EVERY MORNING
Tumblr media
Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n, Fluff
Every evening you would collect the shells that had found their way to the beach during the day. There were shells of all kinds of colours, shapes and sizes. It amazed you how beautiful and alluring such simple things could be. During the following days, you would give the collected shells away to people to use.
Every evening when the sun would begin setting down behing the horizon, Neteyam knew to look for you around the beachline. He would ride with his ilu all around the beach, his eyes searching your small frame along the beach. Once he would spot you, he would hang a little back and admire you. How every time you spotted a shell in the sand a smile would take over your face and your strut would take a more bouncy step. Gosh, he loved watching you when you thought no one was looking.
Little did he know, you knew he would search for you every evening. One time you caught him watching you from a distance. At first it rattled you. Why did he do that? Did he think bad of you and wanted to cause trouble? You would ask the villagers about the Sullys, specifically Neteyam and the answers were something so earnest. They would tell how hard working he was with honing his skills, how kind he was to everyone, how respectful and helpful he was. Then you understood, he felt too shy to be with you like he was with everyone else because he felt something different towards you. It was adorable.
The next morning instead of walking past the Sullys little home, you walked to it's entrance. You smiled and greeted the family in it getting ready for the day. Neteyam was standing at the side of their home close to the wall as he was putting on his warriors belt around his torso. Your eyes followed his movements as his muscles loosened and tightened as he used them. Quickly you put nack on your mask and smiled at him.
Neteyam’s head snapped in your direction, his braids flying around his head as your voice carried through the air. You looked so divine as you stood at the entrance of the home and stared at him with the shining rays of the rising sun behind you.
"Neteyam, would you like to come and collect some shells with me in the evening? I'd like to get to know you a little bit better." You smiled at the soon to be man in front of you. His face slowly broke intoa small side smile as he glanced down at his mattress that he moved aside. Neteyam got up and finally answered.
 "I would like that."
"Great! See you then." Neteyam watched you as you turned around to leave, hands behind your back and a gentle smile on your face. He watched after you as you bounced away from the entrance of their home and continued on with your day.
Lo'ak watched this interaction happen very closely. He had seen how Neteyam gazed at you as they came to the village to seek uturu but he never thought Neteyam would actually have a chance with you. You were nothing like the other girls around here and that made you unreachable, scary and yet so tempting.
As your enticing frame disappeared away from the entrance, Lo'ak smirked at his older brother who continued acting nonchalant. Lo'ak hopped to his brother, grabbed his shoulders and leaned to smirk in his ear. "Well bro, you might actually have a chance with this Metkayina."
Neteyam brushed his brother off of him as he leaned back against the wall of their home with a new found confidence, crossed his arms with a huge smile on his face.
 "Watch me."

Every morning
Tumblr media
Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n, Fluff
Every morning you would walk past their little home and wave at the family in it. You would smile sweetly at every one of them, wave your hand and continue to go on your day. It was a mere act of kindness to the new family that worked so hard to adjust to a new way of living.
Of course you didn't mind starting your day with a bit of eye candy. The oldest child of the family was something new to you. He was interesting and exotic. He was something new to you. You couldn't get enought of those alert yellow eyes that caused a chill to run down your spine every time he laid them on you. It was addicting.
Neteyam loved seeing you walk past their little home every morning. It was his favorite part of the day since he didn't get to see you much because of his learning to adapt to the new clan and culture. You would strut past their home and he would eat you right up with his gaze. The first time he saw you, he thought it was Eywa herself.
Once again the sun was slowly rising behind the horizon. You arrived at the familiar home and smiled at the family in it. Neteyam perked right up when he heard your footsteps. He returned your smile and watched you as you continued your way. This time Neteyam walked to the entrance of their home, leaned with one hand to the structure. A sigh escaped out of him as he watched your attractive frame slip farther away from him.
Lo'ak pushed his brother's shoulder, smirking teasingly. "You really got a crush on this Metkayina? She's like better, stronger and probably a better fighter than you!"
Neteyam leaned back and placed his hand on his brother's neck as he leaned closer to him. "Exactly! What a woman!"

Like a father
Tumblr media
Pairings: Tony Stark & Steve Rogers & Y/n, Angst (maybe a little fluff)
"Tony, she has potential. You can't keep her locked up in your tower."
"That's exactly what I can do and will. I don't want her to experience what all of us have experienced, what we carry, our luggage." Tony said as he placed the heavy proto type on the lab table and stared at up at Steve, his jaw tightening.
Steve looked at Tony, sympathy glowing on his face. Steve knew he couldn't possibly understand what Tony was feeling. He almost never did. They had a lot of disageements about the Avengers and this was one of them. But he understood the fear of losing someone close to you.
"You know Peter Parker? The spider kid? Yeah, he's only sixteen. Think about that. He deals with things that other sixteen year olds couldn't understand. While other kids play Minecraft Peter fights aliens." Tony exclaimed as he leaned against the table and stared ahead of him. Letting his words sink in.
"Does he open up to you?" Steve asks.
Tony straightens up and looks at Steve, pain evident on his face. "Yeah, he does. You know why? Because he knows that he can't open up to anyone else. He's alone there with just us, me holding him up. So, no Steve. Y/n will not be part of the Avengers. I won't allow it."
The silence took over the lab as Steve and Tony measured each other. Tony understood that there was a lot at stake. Steve wouldn't suggest something like this if it wasn't serious. And Steve understood that it was a lot to ask. Tony loved Y/n like a father.
After a long silence, Tony felt the need to say something to justify his opinion. Something he rarely did. He looked at Steve and his features softened as he thought of his kid. "I took her in, I bathed her, I fed her, I raised her, I gave her the world. The only thing I ask in return is that she lives a long happy life. She can't have that if she joins us."
Steve stood at the entrance of Tony's lab, leaning against the door frame. After the silence etteled between them, Steve nodded at Tony. He thought you should be given a chance to decide for yourself but Tony was right about the part of you being too young. When it was time, you could decide if you wanted to join the Avengers.
Tony sighed as he rubbed his face. He knew Steve wouldn't let this go. But Tony was ready to fight for you, he did that every time he wore his suit.

Glowing
Tumblr media
Fluff, One-shot, Pairings: Jake Sully x Y/n
Everybody celebrated him, welcomed him into the clan. Tonight was about Jake Sully, about unity and acceptance. You were happy for him. As all of the omaticayans rested their hands on each other's shoulders, starting with Jake Sully, you couldn't help but smile. It was beautiful. The surprisement, proudness and happiness shone out of him.
As the the night finally arrived, people were dancing, singing and eating. You had no reason to feel like this. Like being locked out. You knew it was because of Neytiri. She was very protective of Jake Sully. She was also very attached to him, clearly interested in him even though she is supposed to be mated to Tsutey.
Your eyes followed the blue man as he stepped away from the celebration. You took notice that Neytiri was with her parents, not knowing that the man slipped away from her. This was your chance. You didn't know what you were doing but before you knew it, you had slipped away from the celebration too.
Your hand gently pushed the plants and leafs away from you. They gently swayed back right were they were, leaving no trace of disturbance. The ground though, left a clear mark of someone being there. Every step Jake Sully took before you glowed and the same happened to you. You loved how the ground felt under you, it was so stable and sure, yet so elegant and vibrant.
Jake hoped you would follow him. You were very guarded, it was hard for him to get you two alone. Either Neytiri was right there beside him or you were somewhere hidden away on your own. From the moment he laid his eyes on you, he thought you were beautiful yet so closed. Simple said you had an aura of mystery around you. Jake wanted to open you up, get to see in you.
Jake often stared at you, his eyes remembering every stripe, curve and color change in and on you. He was a little scared of losing you to someone else. He needed to make his move and soon. You had given him small signs of attraction and interest. Jake was confident, but there was a small crack. What if the shared glances and smiles traded in secret meant nothing? What if the electricity of every small touch was simply kindness shared? Jake was nervous but he was the kind of man who went all in or all home.
You finally reached him. Jake Sully stood facing you among the glowing vines. The light shone alll around him, echancing his lean shape. His muscles rested on his body, something about that was eye catching. He slightly smiled as he saw you step into the light. Your eyes followed the white paint on him. You knew you should keep your eyes on his face but you couldn't help yourself. Blood rushed into your cheeks. You were happy the blue glow shone around you, eliminating the redness.
Jake didn't notice you checking him because he was too busy checking you. The glow around you illuminated your beauty. Suddenly he became very aware of the situation. He got you exactly where he had wanted for so long. A nervous smile crept upon his face as the butterflies in his twomach started to liven up.
You stepped close to him, reached out around him to touch a vine. "These vines let us stay connected to our loved ones."
Jake's eyes followed your every movement. You stood so close yet so far. As you connected to the vine he reached next to you, taking the vine closest to you and did the same. The two of you closed your eyes for a second, taking a moment to hear the voices. The experience is every time heart touching, in some way it opens up a wound that healed a long time ago and yet heals something within. You opened your eyes only to see Jake Sully staring at you already, his lips slight apart.
That small glance was enough for him. The glance from his eyes to his lips that you made. He took the risk. Jake moved his hand from the vine to your face, lightly cupping it.
A sigh escaped out of you. You had been wanting this for so long. Since the moment he smiled at you. Suddenly something erupted in you. This can't happen. Your breath hitched as you tore yourself away from his touch. You could see his whole demeanor change in the fracture of a second.
 "We can't." You simply said.
Jake furrowed his brows, confusion and disappointment evident in his voice. "Why? I though-"
 "You thought right, but Neytiri-"
Jake slightly smirked. So he was right? You weren't just kind to him? His smirk quickly turned into a more confident one as his realization dawned upon him. You wanted him. He didn't hear the rest of what you said.
He interrupted you. "Can't you see? I'm at your feet."
Your eyes met his. Slowly smiles took over your faces. It was clear where this whole situation was going. Jake took a confident step towards you and this time, you didn't tear yourself away.

Golden hour
Tumblr media
Fluff, One-shot, Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n
A smile creeped slowly upon his face as his eyes took in the sight before him. The sun was setting down over the horizon, illuminating golden rays everywhere. The calm water reflected it perfectly, filling the small piece of the sun that was already hiding, making it whole.
You stood at the end of the beach, the very same place where Neteyam landed his feet for the first time since arriving here to seek safety with his family and loved ones. Neteyam's heart jumped at the thought that he would once again stand at the beach with one of his loved ones.
The wind perked up, your hair slowly strand by strand fell down onto your back. He saw everything right there and then. How the sun hugged around your figure, creating a small shadow behind you. This was all too perfect. You were perfect.
Neteyam walked down to you, his yellow eyes glued to you. At this point his stomach started filling up with excited butterflies. He was really going to do this. After all this time spent admiring you from a distance, sharing shy glances between you two, helping through ups and downs. He was going to do this.
As you turned around to look at him, his breath hitched in his throat. Your eyes glistened at him, for him as you patiently waited at the end of the beach. A small smile playing on your lips, hands behind your back you looked up at him. Neteyam swore to himself that at that moment, as you stood in front of him eyes looking up at his own ones that you were the most beautiful creature to ever walk on this planet. To him, it was true.
You knew why Neteyam wanted to meet you here at this specific golden hour. The patient waiting had come to an end. Your stomach was a rollercoaster and on top of that you were scared you would pass out of excitement and anxiousness. Still, you held your head up high and felt those yellow piercing eyes tell everything to you that you wanted, waited and needed to hear without one single word being said.
Neteyam was facing towards the setting sun. The golden rays shined ever so brightly, enchancing the pink in his lips, the stripes that covered him in a designed way, his yellow eyes even more full o life and emotion than ever before. Your cheeks blushed as you looked at the soon to be man in front of you. He was simply said beautiful and handsome at the same time. How did you get so lucky?
How did he get so lucky? For some reason Neteyam didn't have an answer at all. You just were made for him and he was made for you. It was that simple.
Without waiting for another second, your hand slowly found its way to his warm cheek. Instictively Neteyam leaned into your touch, eyes wide open. He wanted to see every movement, feeling, breath exhaled in this moment. He wanted to remember it all.
As Neteyam's hands found their way to your waist, he carefully pulled you against him. His skin burning with every contact it made with yours. Somehow it was sudeenly everything he had ever needed. Your cheeks continued to redden with every second. Everything was so exciting, so new, so real.
You closed your eyes. Neteyam did the same as he leaned down to kiss you.

Losing game
Tumblr media
One-shot, Pairings: Neteyam x Y/n
This was a moment that you two had waited for a long time. Waited for the right moment to come out of the hiding. You two knew it would not be easy. You were a metkaina, firstborn child, a healer in training and supposed to be mated to a son of a great warrior. He was Toruk Makto's firstborn child and now, just a forest boy learning to live again. He sometimes wondered what did you see him. But little did he know, you saw everything in him.
Neteyam paced back and forth by the beach, anxiously waiting for your return. You two had decided that it was now or never to tell your father that you wanted to take fate into your own hands. You two knew it was a risk but it was a risk that you had to take. But this was something you had to do on your own.
You were hopeful, you had thought right from the start that you two would have your happy ending. "Nobody can stand in the way of true love." That's what you always said to him. And at some point he even believed you. You were strong willed and determined to be with him, so how could he not believe you? You were so innocent and saw the good in everyone. Your father was a father at the end, who only wanted for his daughter to be happy and safe. And that's what you were with Neteyam. He had to see that.
How could Neteyam be so stupid? You two never stood a chance. He saw the end before it even begun. He loved you, admired you and would do anything for you. But in the end he was just a boy who got addicted to a losing game.
You never came back to the beach, to him.

Yes
Tumblr media
One-shot, Parings: Neteyam x y/n
You had a bad habit of sneaking out at night and wander around the beach and sometimes the forest. Everything was so much more different during the night, more peaceful. You loved the peace, it gave you a chance to think and get in touch with your inner feelings.
There was a small pond in the forest, surrounded by the these beautiful pink and blue flowers that glowed during the night. It was a walk away from the beach, not too deep in the forest. The bottom of the pond was covered alga that glowed, it showed how clear the water was. This place had become your safe haven. A place where you escaped reality.
 Except tonight you couldn't escape.
After the village had gone to sleep, you once again snuck there, your chest heavy with anxiety. You rarely felt like this. It was concerning. Did you feel like this because of Neteyam? The answer was yes.
A few days ago he started acting different. You couldn't really pinpoint how exactly and it made you crazy. You both knew there was loving between you, more than a friendship growing. He hasn't been distant or gotten more closer. It was the feeling you got when you were together. You felt he was different.
As you dipped your legs into the pond, a sigh escaped out of you. You needed to calm down. Overthinking wasn't helping, it never did. You placed your hand over chest and breathed in, breathed out again and again until your heartbeat calmed down.
It picked up again as you heard steps in fornt of you. You never had seen any animals here or na'vi. Your hand flew to your knife that hung around your waist. Eyes scanning the forest, ears picking up the steps that got closer. A blue hand came to view as they moved the plants out of their way.
Neteyam knew he would find you there. He never followed you here nor did know when you had the time to come here. He was getting to know the beach and it's surroundings. that’s when he found this place. At the edge of the pond was a handmade flower crown. You loved making them.
Your hand placed the knife back as your eyes widened in shock. "Neteyam." You breathed out.
"Hi." He lightly smiled, eyes moving from your frame to the glowing plants. It was truly beautiful here. But as his eyes travelled back to you, it was clear that you were the most beautiful one here.
 "What are you doing here?"
Neteyam sat down and placed his legs into the water as well. He rubbed the back of his neck, yellow eyes flickering. "I wanted to come here to think."
"Oh." Your eyes fell down to the water, It reflected the glow so beautifully back. You could't help but look at Neteyam. His braids laid on his shoulders which were surprisingly tense. You could see his muscles flexing a little as his eyebrows furrowed deep in thought. He was good looking and the glow that surrounded you didn't do him justice.
"Actually, I wanted to talk to you." Neteyam said suddenly, hesitation turning into determination as your eyes met. You nodded at him, giving him a sign that you were listening. You could see his chest rising and falling down with every breath he took. It was mesmerizing.
 "Say yes to me."
Your eyes flew to meet his. They had so many shades in them, shifting from light to darker. Did he just ask that? Did he mean that? Your lips parted as you tried to say something, but he had you speachless. This was why he had been different.
"Say yes to me." He said again, more prominently as he stared back into your eyes, waiting for an answer. Neteyam was nervous, he had thought about this so many times. How he would do it, when and where he would do it. That's why he came there tonight to make the decision but it seemed that Eywa had made the decision for him.
He stared back at you as your lips parted and then turned into a shy smile. Your cheeks reddened as you finally managed muttered your answer to him.
 "Yes."
