I’ve been back from Tampa for about a week now and am trying to settle back in. I stayed a month longer than intended for some unforeseen circumstances, but I’m glad to be back home.

I took a break from writing while I was gone, but started up again.

Update

June 7, 2022

I know it’s been a while since I posted anything on here, but I have wonderful stuff to share with all of you!

After this week, I will be officially done with my first year of university! It’s been such an amazing time, and I’m so proud of all I’ve accomplished this year. I only have two finals left, and then I’m off to Florida for a few weeks. I am taking courses over the summer, so I’ll have study content for you all.

I also have an exciting writing update! I finished writing book 5 a few weeks ago. As many of you know, my plan was to write my series (6 books), and when I was finished I would go back through to revise everything. However, there’s been a small change of plans.

Because I’ve been writing this series for so long, soooooooo much has changed. This series is nothing like it was when I started writing it. So, I decided that I would postpone the writing of book 6 and go back to the beginning to start the revision process.

On June 1st, I started writing book one of my series again! I’m so excited to write this book and I am loving it every step of the way. When I’m finished with book one, I will finally start the beta reading process and look into publishing!

This is such a thrilling and exciting time for me, and I’m so glad to share it with all of you. Stay tuned for more!

hey, generally speaking i am pro-pirating but there is post going around with a free version of Maus by Art Spiegelman on a google doc and i am genuinely asking you all to not reblog it. Art Spiegelman is still alive. he still makes money off of Maus. and what is being monetized is his generational trauma as the son of a holocaust survivor. please either buy Maus or get it from the library (libraries also benefit the author and when more people request or check out a book it communicates to the library that they need more copies). pirating Maus is very different than pirating a marvel movie or reading a google doc of a book no longer in print. please use critical thinking.

I remember reading books about the holocaust when I was a child, and they horrified me so much that the concept of white supremacy (what I grasped of it as a third grader) really scared me. Censoring books about "difficult" topics does not protect children; it fails them. Yesterday, I was driving to the grocery store, and there was a big group of nazis on the side of the busy road. They had banners with antisemitic mantras and a megaphone (god only knows what bullshit they were spewing). They had a big dog with them to keep people away, and there were police there. Protecting them. (Which is a whole different conversation) The holocaust is not ancient history. In the grand scheme of things, it is very recent. Recent enough that nazi ideology is present even in schools today. Children are not exempt from antisemitic influence, and at a time when they're still forming their beliefs about the world, it is so so important that they learn about the "difficult" parts of history. Children who don't learn about "difficult" topics, who don't grasp the severity or harm of white supremacist ideology will easily fall down the racism pipeline. It is absolutely imperative to teach children the full story of history, without glossing over the gruesome parts that make white people look bad.
