Btw I’m pro-quitting.  This is a quitting-positive space.  If you’re doing something and you decide “I don’t like this” or “I don’t want to do this” then you should quit.  Quitting is awesome.  Grinding only works in video james.
I quit all the time.  It’s great.

For people struggling with their body image, but who do not struggle daily, but maybe used to. Do you have days where you either feel really good in your body or just really comfortable? If yes, then I want you to remember those when the bad days and moments come. You gotta ask yourself: What is the difference between the today me, where I feel like this, and the week/month/yesterday me where I felt fine/good/comfortable/great? You probably cannot answer that question. The thing is, there isn’t one. The only difference is that mean and nasty and lying voice in your head. Knowing that may not make you feel that much better, but it may stop a trail of thinking patterns that do not serve you, from growing stronger or spiraling. Another thing that may help, but that can be kinda scary: If you have days where you feel good (and I really hope you do, I hope you have many) take a picture. And then you can look back at that/those pictures. The important thing is knowing that this isn’t you. That voice beating you up is not you, and it is wrong. 🌸

Example: someone who withdraws communication might be communicating that they would like to be checked on (a form of seeking attention) OR they might be communicating that they need space.
This post is not necessarily about analyzing other people’s behavior but it can serve to clarify what you or someone you know is *really* trying to say with a certain action.

“Recently, a friend of mine told me that she felt guilty that she hadn’t accomplished more during the last year of the pandemic. Now, I’ve heard that a few times. And I have a feeling we’re gonna be hearing that more and more.”

“There are hundreds of paths up the mountain, all leading to the same place, so it doesn’t matter which path you take. The only person wasting time is the one who runs around the mountain, telling everyone that his or her path is wrong.” Hindu proverb https://www.etherealmeditation.org/

Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain, and you feel the rain - but you are not the rain.
