I don’t think moving on from this show will ever be an option at this point. Going insane over the way that Mobius looks at Loki in their FIRST scene together. Like actually sickening I am SICK !!!

Hello :) I saw you were responding to prompts, so feel free to write this one if you like it and, please, ignore it if you don't (I'm just in the mood for some good old hurt/comfort): Loki has a pretty bad migraine, so Moby helps him through it and makes him feel as comfy as possible. (If you feel like whumping Moby instead, you can swap the roles.) Thank you!
I swapped the roles, I hope u don't mind!! [sorry for not writing any fics for a while, I've been suuuper busy, but feel free to keep sending lokius requests :)]
lokius masterlist ~ ao3
---
“Oh, god,” Mobius mumbled under his breath, eyes clenched completely shut. He was breathing deeply, trying to calm himself down or at least soothe himself, but it was to no avail. “Just kill me now.”
At that moment, Loki let himself into their shared flat. Stepping through the door, he shrugged his jacket off and placed it on the coat hook nearby, kicking the door closed with his foot. Mobius winced at the loud sound from the contact, a noise he normally wouldn’t blink at sounding like a jet engine to him right now.
“Mobius?” He heard Loki call out. Another wince. Did he have to be so damn loud?
There were a few blissful seconds of silence before he heard Loki call out once again. “Darling? Are you in?”
Mobius wasn’t a violent person, but he was feeling the urge to throw something at a wall right now. He quickly remembered that that would make an even louder noise and suddenly felt the urge dissipate. Instead, he grabbed Loki’s pillow from his side of the bed and brought it over his head, using it to muffle any sounds as he buried himself further into the duvet.
He didn’t suffer from migraines often, but when they came they were an absolute bitch to deal with. His head was pounding like someone was slamming a steel drum right in his brain, and he was so sensitive to everything. Light, sound, even moving too much would send a jolt of even more pain through his body. And Loki, bless his heart, was not helping by loudly yapping away as he walked through their flat.
“-then for some reason, she thought it was okay for her to saunter on over and-“
Mobius felt like a ticking time bomb ready to go off.
“-so I told her to ‘get your hands off my files, I’m a god’-“
He wished he could just sink into the ground. At least it would be quiet amongst the dirt and worms.
“-and Casey was having none of it. I’ve never seen him move so fast, Mobius! It was like he-“
That’s it, Mobius couldn’t take anymore. He stuck an arm out of the duvet cocoon he’d made and aimlessly waved his hands near the floor until he found a shoe that he’d haphazardly shoved off when he’d gotten in and unceremoniously chucked it towards the door. It clashed into the wood with a loud bang and Mobius thought he could cry from the jolt the noise sent through his brain. It felt like his head was splitting open.
Loki had stopped talking, at least.
Mobius revelled in the silence, relaxing back into the bed and trying to will his brain to stop exploding. He felt unbearably warm under the duvet and blankets and pillows, but it was the only way to lie in complete darkness with as little noise as possible. He felt a pressure in his jaw, and made an effort to stop clenching his teeth together from the pain. He was one hundred percent ready for this to be over.
After what couldn’t have been more than a few minutes, he heard the door to their bedroom creak open.
“Mobius?” He asked into the silence. Mobius just sighed. Was Loki normally this loud?
“Darling? Wait, are you-“ Mobius heard the shuffling of socked feet along the carpeted floor before he felt a presence crouch down next to the bed. The next thing he knew, the covers were being carefully pulled away from his face until only his eyes were exposed. Long fingers gently caressed whatever skin they could reach, and the coldness felt like heaven to Mobius.
“What’s up with you, hm?” His voice was low, full of care, but still too loud. “Are you okay?”
Mobius, with his eyes still clenched shut, just shook his head and tried to bury himself back into the darkness. Loki let him, pulling his hand away and silently watching as the grey haired man disappeared back under the duvet pile. All that was left of him was a lump on the bed where he was laying.
He heard Loki sigh.
“Shall I leave you alone?”
He thought about it. He was loud and brash and so stimulating, but… he was also Mobius’s partner. His lover. He’d look after him.
He wordlessly stuck his hand out from the duvet and held it out towards Loki, waiting for him to take it. His cold hand was wrapping around his warm one almost instantly, fingers intertwining and squeezing ever so gently.
“I’ll take that as a no.” Loki murmured, his voice practically rumbling out of his chest. For a few moments he simply stayed crouched on the floor next to Mobius, running his thumb back and forth along the back of his hand, giving the man something to focus on other than the blinding migraine. “Can I help?”
Mobius steeled himself before clearing his throat, pushing through the jolt of pressure it sent to his head, and mumbling out a meek, “Migraine.”
“Oh, Mobius…” Loki’s voice was laced with sympathy, instantly dropping into a whisper that was so quiet it looked more like he was just mouthing the words. “And here I was barking around the place like a dog. My apologies, kjære.“
Mobius just squeezed his hand, not wanting to put any more effort into speaking. He felt Loki’s lips make contact with his hand, pressing a soft kiss to his worn skin, before his slender fingers fell away from Mobius’s grasp. He heard him shuffle around the room, the soft click of switches being flicked mixing with the rustling of fabric, and seconds later Loki was climbing into bed beside him, careful not to jostle the mattress too much as he settled down.
“Shall I hold you?” He asked into the room, stroking Mobius’s back through the duvet. “All the lights are off and the curtains closed. It’s pitch black in here now.”
Mobius could think of nothing better.
He slowly pushed the duvet away from him before his head emerged from beneath the mountains of fabric. His eyes blinked blearily as he adjusted to the room, looking around slightly before landing on Loki, his sharp features softening in the darkness. He wordlessly moved towards Loki, wrapping his arms around the god and nuzzling his head into his chest.
One of the benefits of having a Frost Giant as a partner was that he was always the perfect temperature; never too hot, and if he was ever too cold it was nothing a few blankets couldn’t fix. Right now, the coolness of his body was a god send. Quite literally, Mobius supposed.
Loki didn’t say anything, instead choosing to simply brush his fingertips gently through the grey of Mobius’s hair. He was careful not to rub too hard, not wanting to increase anymore pressure on Mobius’s already painful head, but the bureaucrat found that the repeating movements over his scalp was a nice distraction; an almost hypnotising action. If it weren’t for the fact that Loki couldn’t conjure his magic at the TVA, Mobius would assume that he was using some ancient Asgardian spell on him.
He wishes he could do that. What he would give for Loki to be able to flick his wrist in his direction and fix the migraine with a flash of green. As easy as wiping a few crumbs off a table. But Mobius’s crumbs felt more like boulders, and they wouldn’t be moving anytime soon. For now, he would take solace in the fact that Loki was caring for him in any way that he could right now.
The god in question leant down at that moment and pressed a chaste kiss to Mobius’s forehead, as if he could hear his thoughts and was quelling his pleas for magic. Mobius simply sighed, letting himself relish in the feeling of his soft lips rather than the hammerjack in his brain.
“Here.” Loki’s voice floated through the darkness of the room, no louder than a whisper. Mobius felt something slightly damp being placed on his forehead, his thoughts catching up after a moment and realising that it was a cold flannel. The chill that ran through his much too warm body felt downright sinful, a pleased hum escaping him as it instantly cooled him down.
He felt rather than heard Loki chuckle. Normally, Mobius would have returned the laugh with a sparkle in his eyes, but this time he silently smiled to himself at the sound.
“Do you still have that lavender?” The deep voice spoke again, and Mobius nodded against his chest. He opened his mouth to reply, but Loki shifted away from him before he could so much as say a word. He heard a drawer open and shut again a second later, and realised Loki had remembered that he kept his lavender oil in the bedside table.
As the god settled back underneath Mobius, he opened the lid of the small bottle in one hand and collected a few drops of the oil on the opposite hand’s index finger. He began to gently rub the oil into Mobius’s skin on his temples, taking his time before moving to behind his ears. Mobius craned his neck slightly to allow him easier access, and Loki kissed the top of his hair in thanks.
Once he was finished, Loki wiped the remaining oil on his fingers onto his trousers (Loki would keep to himself how much that vexed him), not wanting to get up to wash his hands and leave Mobius. He carefully reached over to put the oil back in the drawer, then rested his arm around Mobius’s waist and brought him in closer, silently encouraging him to nuzzle in further. Mobius happily complied.
Like this, ear against his chest, Mobius could hear every beat of his heart. It was nice. Like a lullaby, only with no melody. People had come and gone in Loki’s life, all claiming that Loki didn’t have a heart- pointing accusatory fingers at him and telling him there’s nothing but frost in the cavity where his heart should be- but Mobius knew better. Mobius could feel it and hear it and see it in every caring action he made; in every kiss and embrace and hand he held, every smile and laugh and pet name he uttered, every darkened room and cold flannel and drop of lavender oil, Mobius grew even more certain that Loki’s heart was eons bigger than what people expected of him. Mobius knew the god was full of love. You just had to get over that miles-high wall to find it.
“Take a day off tomorrow.” Mobius could feel the rumble of his voice through his chest. “If Ravonna has anything to say about it, I’ll give her an earful.”
Mobius didn’t doubt that for a second. He nodded, exhaling a soft breath as he relaxed even further into Loki. He felt like if given the chance, he might melt away completely into the god’s chest. He could think of worse ways to go.
Loki huffed another soft laugh, his thumb running patterns into Mobius’s hip as he watched him carefully. “You look rather comfortable there, love.”
Mobius nodded again, smiling even though Loki would unlikely be able to see it in the darkness. Loki hummed, resting his chin on top of Mobius’s head. “‘M glad. Stay there as long as you like. I’m not going anywhere.”
“Tomorrow,” Mobius’s voice croaked as he spoke. He cleared his throat and tried again. “Tomorrow, can you read to me?”
Loki kissed him again. Mobius loved how frivolous he was being with the kisses. “Of course, darling. We could try that Midgardian playwright you keep going on about. Shakespeare?”
Mobius nodded. “That’s the one. You’d probably like him, you’re pretentious enough for him.” He joked lightly, a breathy laugh escaping him as Loki playfully swatted at his hip. “I have a copy of one I’ve always meant to read but never got round to.”
“Mm? What’s it called?”
“The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Found it out in the field a while back- thought I should probably get some culture in me or somethin’.”
“Sounds interesting.” Loki agreed. Then, he added on with what Mobius assumed was accompanied by a smirk, “We’ll have to act it out.”
“No way, this is a Loki Production only. I’ll be happily sat watching from the audience seats.”
“Boring.” Loki said, kissing Mobius yet again. The head splitting migraine was almost worth it for the kisses alone. “Want to try and sleep? Better nap it off rather than lay here in pain for a few hours.”
“Preaching to the choir.” Mobius murmured. “But yeah, sleep sounds good. Don’t leave.”
“I’m right here, Mobius. Just close your eyes.” Loki’s hand travelled under the duvet and found Mobius’s, linking their fingers together and squeezing lightly. “God natt, kjærlighet.”
Mobius was ever thankful that he understood every language on the timeline. He was ever thankful that he could share Asgardian with his partner.
The only thought drifting through his mind as he settled into sleep against Loki was ‘Jeg elsker deg mer enn ord kan si’.

Hello if requests aren’t open please ignore this. If not that’s awesome
Could you maybe do a Mobius fic with a trans male reader where they go out and buy his first binder?
Normally I don’t do requests but this was too cute not to write!
Warning for dysphoria mentions.
I didn’t proof read and wrote this in my notes app, so apologies if it’s not the best.
Also I hope you don’t mind that I changed the prompt a tiny bit!
You anxiously pulled at your shirt, trying desperately to show none of your chest. Even when you were in a sports bra and one of Mobius’s baggy shirts, you still felt extremely dysphoric. You felt like everyone could see your chest, like it was so much bigger than it actually was, even if you knew it wasn’t true. You shoulders were slouched as you sat in bed, waiting for Mobius to come back to the room. He had left the apartment saying he needed to go grab something really quick, leaving you in the apartment alone. You sighed as your fingers fidgeted with the soft blanket, impatiently waiting for your boyfriend to return. Soon, you heard the front door open, your head moving to look up. His heavy footsteps came down the hall and stopped right in front of the door. The door opened, showing the gray haired man. His hands were behind his back, clearly holding something and hiding it from you. You tilted your head to the side, confused.
“Mobius… what’s behind your back?” You asked, a small smile forming on your lips. He grinned back, walking in and plopping onto the bed next to you. Without saying anything, he pulled his hands from behind his back. In them were a small package, wrapped in gray wrapping paper. He handed it to you, grinning even wider.
“Go on, open it, sweetheart.” He insisted. You furrowed your brows together in confusion but did as he told you. You slowly opened the wrapped gift, revealing a soft, spandex like fabric. You pulled the fabric from the paper, holding it up in front of you and revealing-
“Mobius… is this what I think it is?”you asked, looking up at him. He only nodded excitedly in response. Your eyes began to tear up, arms wrapping tight around Mobius’s body. “Oh my god- Mobius, thank you so much. I love it!” He chucked, wrapping his own arms around you.
“You don’t need to thank me, baby. I know you’ve been needing one for a while and I wanted to help you. It hurts seeing you so upset with your body and I just want to see you happy. Now I’m gonna leave the room and left you put it on, okay? Just come out to the living room when you’re ready.”
With that, the older man got up and left the room, closing the door behind him. You wasted no time yanking your shirt and sports bra off before sliding on the binder. It was a bit tight to get into since it was new, but it wasn’t painful or uncomfortable. You took a deep breath before turning to look at yourself In The mirror. You stared at your reflection, turning to the side and seeing just how flat you were. It was… amazing.
You raced out to the living room, a giant smile plastered on your face. You stopped at the door way, looking at Mobius. You paused before walking to the couch and plopping down next to him and hugging him again. “Thank you thank you thank you! It’s perfect!” He just hugged you back, his hand coming to pet your hair.
“You’re welcome, my handsome boy.”

All right, it’s been 12 hours, so time for watch number two! MY BIG REVIEW IS FINALLY DONE!
I love that they just hit the ground running and immediately start right where we need to be. There’s no time to waste!
Even the cinematography of that water droplet, they aren’t messing around! (Watching it again, I wonder, “Is that bug a shapeshifted Loki?!” That’s what Marvel has done to me lol.
The way he sputters out the sand! He’s already comedic but not so comedic that it’s out of character.
This speed sequence is so cool!!!!
This face. This is the first time we’ve seen Loki truly fearful of what is going on. For the first time that we’ve seen, he is out of his element.
Tumblr media
The rush of this opening Marvel title sequence. I cannot!! It’s beautiful. And GORGEOUS. and most importantly, so Loki! 💚✨
Why is this place so aesthetically pleasing??
Tumblr media
I love how pissed he looks when signing all the paperwork. Been there lol.
Gosh I love this TVA Miss Minutes animation. I’m a sucker for old Hollywood and all things vintage so this is right up my alley. ⏰
SO glad they changed out “crap” to “bunkum.” THANK GOODNESS. That would have been so out of character.
THIS TITLE SEQUENCE IS PURE PERFECTION!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Tumblr media
Provence:
So, we can all agree this is 100% Kid Loki, right?? The way Mobius taps the kid in the chest makes it sound unnatural, like a robot or something. Did anyone else notice that?
Oh, Loki. Always the opportunist. Of course he would try to get the upper hand and enlist him self as a leader in their system. Similar to him and Thanos, “If you’re going to earth, you’ll need a guide.”
This scene’s soundtrack is just breathtaking. Everything about it is absolutely magical. Again, this show does not hold back.
Tumblr media
“I would have made it easy for them.” Loki really does believe he would be a great leader. Not necessarily a fair leader, but in his mind, a visionary.
ONCE THEY START PLAYING CLIPS, I GOT CHILLS. THIS IS ONLY GOING TO BE INTENSE.
“Do you enjoy hurting people?” WOW, MOBIOUS! Look at his little nervous fidgeting. Who hasn’t done this in an uncomfortable situation. Such a great little detail.
Tumblr media
D.B. Cooper! I wish we would have gotten more stories like this, even little clips of other pranks he did in the past.
The shift once Loki stands up to make a point. At first he is playing along but then he starts having enough. He is starting to shake in his boots and begin to lash out with insults and jabs at TVA.
OMG THE DARK WORLD. I am so glad they have focused so much on this movie because it really is THE Loki movie. I would dare to say that Loki has more of a story in it than Thor, 100%. It begins with Loki, he suffers from his mother, has the best scenes throughout the film, and then sacrifices himself only to come back in the end. It is the Loki movie. People have their opinions on whether they deem it a good film but I LOVE it. Again, SO glad it gets the analysis it deserves.
FRIGGA. No comment needed.
That whole aftermath of that scene with Loki losing it and essentially having a life crisis only to then be told essentially he is merely a pawn to help others achieve greatness while he is meant to kill and destroy… OUCH. I mean, BRUTAL. That might be my favorite scene out of the episode though for the way it builds and builds until Loki has to accept help (Mobious offering him a hand up.) Accepting help is not easy. That’s already growth right there.
Tumblr media
“GUT YOU LIKE A FISH, CASEY!” Love him so much. That’s our bby right there. 😂
Tumblr media
NO BBY NO! Don’t skip forward!!!
He is actually blubbering at hearing Odin’s words and I can’t take it! 😭😭😭
This face. This is the face of pure fear. This is the face of being triggered. This is the face of exponential dread. Sends chills down my spine.
Tumblr media
As this scene builds, I could feel my nerves and heart beating faster. Sure enough… my smart watch said it went from 73 to 113bpm . 113?!?! That’s like a warm up right there! Cause of death: Marvel not giving a shit about my sensitive emotions.
DAMN. That’s all that can be said after that scene.
Loki in control of the time manipulator! I have been so excited for this moment ever since I saw it in a promo. This is pure Loki. God of mischief. You mess with me, I’ll mess with you right back and then some! Plus, what better way to let out your anger after this shit show of a day than have some fun.
Tumblr media
When Loki sits down with the Tessaract and puts his head in his hands, it looks like he’s about to lose it and bawl. You see his chest move rapidly like he’s about to let out the waterworks but then immediately stops when his vulnerability is about to be shown, when Mobious steps in.
Tumblr media
What a scene. What a character analysis. What a masterclass in the God of Mischief. Pain, Vulnerability, Anger, Fear, all rolled into one. And we love him through it all.
(WE ALL KNOW THIS IS LADY LOKI IN OKLAHOMA, RIGHT?!)
And then ending with the gorgeous credits with the epic soundtrack and beautiful scenes that are art in of itself.
Loki, you done good. You done real good.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Department of Nightmares
(((Loki has a wet dream about Mobius with hints of Thorki)))
Loki woke up to darkness. He was on his knees, hands tied behind his back, attached to his ankles. He tugged at the binds and found them thoroughly, if comfortably firm. He reached out to free himself using his magic only to find himself grasping at straws. He had no magic. He let out a sound of frustrated indignation at the indecency of waking up in such a state.
“You’re awake, brother. Finally.”
“Thor?” Hope lit up in Loki’s voice that his brother was here to save him. “Thor, help me!”
The lights switched on, blinding him. He blinked rapidly, eyes adjusting, and took in his surroundings. A massive warehouse. And worse. The Avengers.
“Sleeping beauty is awake.” Loki gritted his teeth; irritated at the blase sound of Tony Stark’s voice. “Do we give him a kiss? Or is that not how this works?”
“Kiss me and I’ll see that everyone you’ve ever loved dies a slow and painful death.”
Steve Rogers grabbed a handful of Loki’s hair in his fist and twisted his head back painfully. “You sure know how to sweet talk, don’t you?”
“Go easy on him, Steve,” Natasha said. She bent down and cupped Loki’s chin in her hand and leaned in as if she was going to kiss him. “He’s more fragile than he looks.” She dug her foot into his balls and Loki whimpered. Beautiful and cruel.
“Oh, he can take anything you dish at him.” Thor pushed Steve and Natasha out of the way, wrapped his arms around Loki’s waist and lifted him. Thor whispered into Loki’s ear, “We’re all going to have some fun with you and you’re going to do everything we say. Got it?”
“Hmmm, kinky. I didn’t think you had it in you.”
“Brotherly love. Brotherly love?” Tony looked around at each Avenger as they all nodded in agreement.
“So what then?” Loki drawled, “You’re going to fuck me in front of all your friends now?” Loki asked, aroused by the idea.
“Nobody’s going to be fucking anybody,” a kindly voice chimed in. A set of footsteps clipping towards them.
“Mobius!” Loki’s heart leapt at the sound of the analyst’s voice and he instantly felt a sense of calm and safety. He relaxed in Thor’s arm, sagging against his brother’s chest.
“And who are you to refute these great plans I have made?” Thor gripped Loki’s cock and balls possessively, as if to say you belong to me.
“I’m just saying that I need him. Before you all tear into him. I need him.” Mobius’s voice sounded so reasonable and earnest that the Avengers backed away. Mobius was magic in Loki’s eyes.
The Avengers receded as Mobius came closer and Loki couldn’t take his eyes off him. With a blink of the eye, Loki was untied and started to move towards Mobius, eager to reach him. A hand wrapped around his bicep to stop him.
“Hold up , Rock of Ages. You don’t call the shots here.” Tony pulled him back and the Avengers surrounded him, forming a barrier that kept him from Mobius.
Another blink and suddenly Loki felt a cool breeze across his bare naked ass. He hadn’t taken his eyes off Mobius, and the analyze stood there calmly as before. Loki turned and the Avengers stood in a group behind him.
“Go to your new master, Loki,” his brother said encouragingly. “We’ve decided to give you to him.”
“You? Giving me to Mobius?” Loki snorted. Yet the prospect was appealing.
Loki turned and made a step towards Mobius – who held up a hand and pointed to the floor. Instinctively, Loki fell to his knees. It just felt like the right thing to do.
“Posture,” Mobius reminded him and it felt as if they’d done this before.
Loki straightened out his back, puffing out his chest, kneeling in supplication, legs slightly open, his cock hard and dangling between them.
“Look at you. So eager to please.” Mobius’s kind voice soothed over his skin. Loki rocked his hips, eager for any touch or kind word from Mobius. Loki desperately wanted his love and affection.
Mobius clinically snapped the time collar over his neck. Loki’s eyes widened with surprise. That wasn’t what he’d wanted. “I though…”
Mobius cut him off. “It’s not about what you want.”
“Mobius please–”
“Please what?”
“Please touch me.” Loki begged, he leaned forward as much as his  posture and position would allow. He craved Mobius with his entire being.
“Touch yourself,” Mobius ordered. Loki was eager to comply, hand stroking his own cock as he stared up at Mobius - uncaring even of the Avengers judgmental gazes – he brought himself closer,, closer, hand moving under the sheets.
His climax rising, he moaned and called out, “Mobius!” as he reached his peak and the pleasure and the cum spread over him, hot and warm around his hand. Loki moaned once more as he turned under the blanket, still lost in his orgasm. “Mobius….”
When suddenly the door whooshed open and Mobius burst in. “Loki? You okay?”
Loki sat up and frantically clutched the blankets around himself hoping to god that Mobius couldn’t see the mess he’d made under his sheets.
Mobius, “You uh… I heard you call my name?”
“I– uh no. Was…. having a nightmare.”
“A nightmare?”
“It was … awful.”
“I see. You're all soaked. Gonna need to wash those sheets.”
“Oh yes. Damn.”
“It’s okay. C’mon, get dressed, I’ll make you a cup of coffee.”
“Right.”
Oh shit. Loki showered and changed in less than ten minutes. Truly a record for him since he’d been at the TVA.
By the time Loki joined him, Mobius was reading from his tempad and sipping his coffee. There was a cup set out for Loki as well as a mouth watering plate of bacon eggs, and toast that Mobius had made for him.
“Quite lovely,” Loki smiled as he sat down. Mobius gave him an indulgent smile and a look that said ‘let me finish reading this.” Loki nodded agreeably and stared at his coffee for a long moment, still mortified from his dream. He had been moaning Mobius’s name. Surely the analyze had heard. Surely he’d be pruned for such thoughts.
Loki sipped his coffee and sighed heavily, eager to get started on the eggs. Mobius was quite skilled at cooking such a simple ingredient as they were somehow even better than what he’d had in Asgard.
“So you had a Nightmare?” Mobius had finished whatever he was reading on his tempad and was looking right at him now.
Loki nodded. “I did.” He searched Mobius’s face for any sign of knowledge of what he’d actually been dreaming.
Mobius waited to see if Loki would add more, but the god just sipped his coffee. Mobius pried anyway. “May I ask what about?”
Loki’s leg bobbed below the table, a nervous gesture he would have been able to hide if he still had his magic. Oh how he despised mortal life. He shrugged. “Just… stuff… The usual stuff of nightmares... The Avengers.”
“That makes sense. You must still be shaken up about the hulk, huh?”
“Yep. That’s it.”
Mobius smirked and started in on his food. “Was I in it?”
Loki stared at him stunned for a long awkward moment. “Why would you ask such a thing?”
Mobius chuckled. “Must have been some nightmare. We really shoulda burned that department down.”
Loki chuckled. “The Department of Nightmares. We certainly ought to have.”
The rest of the morning passes without bringing it up again. Mobius doesn’t ask again. Loki can’t stop thinking about it. Can’t stop remembering how it had felt to be kneeling in front of Mobius, craving his touch.
He is forced to spend the morning by himself in the archives, left with nothing more than files about him and his variants and thoughts of Mobius.

would everything be different today?
characters/pairings: thor and loki, loki/mobius
fandom: marvel cinematic universe
rating: general
word count: 3913
warning: canon character death
summary: Prior to Loki's arrest, Thor attempts to save them and is arrested by the TVA himself. And sure, he doesn't understand much of this institution, but he's pretty sure this Mobius has taken a liking to his younger sibling. (pre-canon, thor pov)
(still obsessing over loki, who’s surprised? no one! half of this fic was written at 2am when i was Not sober, my beloved Cat / @howgodforgives read it for me tho because they’re perfect!! 💖 this is an au... supposed to happen pre-canon... inspired by this post and this post, i love them too much and simply mashed the 2 concepts together so ya. enjoy ??)
read on ao3
Thor thought he could just do one thing. And when Steve revealed his plan about utilizing their time traveling device, just one last time, the offer his friend came with for him to go back was something he had to.
He had a chance to save Loki.
Now, he knows this is far from thought out, far from logical, and Thor never told Steve when he himself was traveling to. They trusted each other, Avengers and all.
Thor knows he could save their mother, too, if he wanted, but perhaps grief was clouding his vision because he’s simply lost too many, and he’ll be damned if he’d let Loki slip away from him after everything they’ve been through.
They were making progress… weren’t they?
It surely couldn’t be another one of his tricks, and although Thor has been naive in the past, he simply can’t lose her. Not now. Not yet.
And so he goes back for them, and he gets there, he’s on the ship, Heimdall and Loki and Valkyrie and Korg and  Thanos  , and Thor’s never been prone to irrational anger, he  tries , but everything happening all over again in such an overwhelming way nearly has sparks jumping from eyes and fingertips.
Thor is so close. And then he isn’t.
He can’t comprehend what happens, but he’s out of time, out of place, and he’s in what resembles most those office buildings he’s seen so many of Midgard. Being crammed in an elevator with these strange people gave him eerie flashbacks to Sakaar, until he’s finally greeted by a significantly short human, brown suit, silver hair and moustache and a lop-sided grin.
Naturally, Thor smiles back in the midst of his confusion, it’s only good manners, you hear.
“Ah!” the man exclaims, patting his elbow with the other hand guiding him forward, “The god of thunder himself! Mighty pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
He nods, following, unsure still what’s going on. But Thor’s made too many enemies of a human lifetime, a long time ago, and he wouldn’t want to get on these humans’ bad side, even though they technically kidnapped him… peculiar.
If Loki was here, they’d probably have their knife ready at lightning speed. Classic Loki.
“Well, thank you! I wish I could say the same, but I’m not sure… where I am,” Thor answers. This really does look like an office, one the Midgardians had a decade or so, probably, before they updated themselves. Modernization, that’s what it’s called, silly humans.
“Fair is fair,” the grey haired human turns to him, “Welcome to the Time Variance Authority, TVA for short! I think I speak for everyone here when I say we’re excited to have you here.”
The man chuckles, and Thor doesn’t know if it’s to himself or directed towards him, until the human shrugs. There’s still two of those persons with weaponry and strange glowing devices on either side of them, and it seems his new acquaintance realises the need for explanation.
“Well, technically, you’re not staying as much as… you’re under arrest,” he then says, smile turning hesitant and scratching his cheek.
Arrest?!
That’s certainly a surprise, given human laws don’t really apply to his own kind. Of course, Avenging has different rules and such… but alas.
It seems his new friend notices his eyes widen, significantly, “But don’t worry, buddy! You’re a special case, of course.”
Thor stammers, he always feels a certain embarrassment over himself when this happens, “May I- may I ask for what offense? I don’t mean to offend, these quarters are quite splendid, but Midgard and Asgard operate different-”
“Oh no,” the man interrupts, keeping a quick pace, “I’m afraid this isn’t Midgard, big guy. The TVA, we, well, control all of time!”
The guards escorting them, they must be guards, stop at the same time Thor stops in pure shock. His father never mentioned anything like this. Is this part of the nine realms? He wonders who these people are, if not human. They surely cannot be gods?
“You control… time?”
“Exactamundo! The sacred timeline, to be precise. Let me show you,” his new acquaintance guides him further with that, until they reach a strangely void room, a single table, pair of chairs and some sort of machine the only things in sight. One of those Midgardian ‘computers’?
And when he’s seated (the chair isn’t quite built for a god of his stature, but he shouldn’t complain, politeness is key, of course), this strange man shows him what appears to be a video. A video of… his life. Thor’s life, that is.
This is absurd. “How do you know this? What-”
“We know everything, buddy,” the man tells him, shuts down the device, grin sheepish, “It’s in the job description, you see?”
Thor doesn’t know what to think, rather, his mind feels somehow numb.
He was just with Loki, she was there, within his grasp, then… this. Thor also doesn’t know how long he sits staring at his acquaintance in confusion until another thought dawns upon him, “Do you have Steve Rogers, too?”
The grin lessens, mouth forming a small o, but the man nods once, “Ah, yes, another department. You two sure know how to cause trouble, huh?”
So he gets an answer, but it leaves him none the wiser, or clearer headed, or understanding. It rather feels like those sort of outlandish dreams children have, like he had when he was younger.
But what can he do? Just face this head-on?
Thor wonders if Heimdall can see him right now. Not… his Heimdall, another Heimdall, who might be alive. A Loki who might be alive, if he can save them.
“May I ask one more question of you, uh…”
“Mobius M. Mobius, at your service.”
“Ah,” he replies, and hesitantly smiles back at the grin he receives, “Then why am I here? This  department , I mean?”
The stranger, Mobius, chuckles. It’s short handed and with the professionalism of those Midgardian businessmen with replicated suits and briefcases and phones chiming them down. Is this Mobius even human? More Asgardian?
“We’re in need of assistance, you might say,” he finally answers, and turns to power up the machinery once more, “And I, for one, have a feeling you might be invaluable for the cause.”
*
Although Thor is not sure he yet understands everything in this strange world he’s now come into, this new friend, Mobius, is very educational, and while the thought of being arrested wasn’t all too pleasing, apparently, they wished for him to work for them, instead.
His offence, that’s yet another thing he still doesn’t understand. Thor wasn’t aware of this, uh, this  Sacred Timeline , as they call it. Surely a god of his status should’ve been told, shouldn’t he?
He comes to wonder if their father ever knew about this.
Thor is fairly sure about one thing, that Odin wouldn’t possibly have told them, had he had that knowledge. And what about Hela?
But he quickly learns not to think about this too much, and he counts about three Asgardian weeks in the TVA, although he has no idea how time works  here , at all. Mobius always says it’s too complicated to explain, maybe he thinks Thor wouldn’t understand.
Loki always said he was as dumb as a doornail. But she never meant it out of spite, he reasons, surely, they’ve always had that sense of humor between the two of them. He loves Loki very much, even when she lets him down. He only hopes his younger sibling feels the same.
Speaking of Loki, that is another thing Thor learns in this weird world- uh, city? Country? Timeline? The TVA is its own thing entirely.
But what he learns, much like his whole life, is that his destiny will forever and always be tied to Loki, and Loki’s to his. Because his new friends at the TVA hired him to find, and catch, his younger sibling and bring them in for a similar crime to his own.
Although he’s also  killing people in the process, Mobius explains much to Thor’s horror, and he’ll have to make sure Loki’s not hurt when he finds him, and ask him why this bloodshed is necessary. Again.
Of course, there must be a good reason as to why she’s doing it, he had a good reason to mess with the timeline himself, he must say, and Loki is incredibly clever, his younger sibling’s grand scheme must be extraordinary. He just wishes she wouldn’t hurt other people in the process, they’ve been over this, but she was getting better!
As Mobius put it, “You know them better than anyone, pal, I’ve got a hunch you’re the only one who can find out where they’re hiding. Well, besides themselves.”
Yes, Thor was not certain this was a good idea.
He traveled back in time to  save his younger sibling, not cause him even more pain. But Mobius seems somewhat trustworthy, and very polite. He assured him justice would be served fairly, and even a lesser punishment considering the help he himself provides!
Sometimes, Thor has to follow his gut. Loki always hated this trait of his.
This work proves tricky, and tedious, and of course, his sibling is sneaky and manages to escape the TVA time and time again, and if they would just bring Thor with them, surely, he could talk to her. Not apprehend her, but  communicate . Not everyone here trusts him as much as Mobius, though, regrettably.
What is curious about his new friend, and Thor’s spent a few nights now racking his brain about this, is that some of the questions he’s posed about Loki are quite specific.
They must be important for the case, he figures.
Just a week ago, hunched over files and files of timeline lingo and alternate futures that Thor has several conflicting emotions about reading, the grey haired man looked up from his scribbles and met his eye.
“Say, Thor,” he started, scratching his chin and twirling the pen in his hand, “Loki ever tell ya what they fancy for dinner?”
And the god had to blink, shuffling the papers. Did he hear it correctly?
“Dinner?”
“I mean, humans, they have favorite foods, you know? Like, preferences,” he chuckled, “I only assume Asgardians are similar?”
Thor smiles as he does when in situations where he doesn’t understand what’s going on, but simple curiousity never hurt anyone. This person’s strange, stranger than the Avengers, but he loved them all the same. “Of course. Loki’s very fond of goat. Herring, too, and our mother’s apple pie.”
Mobius nodded with a grin, and spoke no more of the subject, until two days later (Thor  thinks  it was two days, as mentioned before, time here confuses him profusely), where his friend inquired him about his younger sibling’s eye color.
They’re blue, clearly.
More muted than Thor’s own, but never grey, although some of these files have wrongly informed otherwise.
Really, this interest Mobius reveals in his younger sibling doesn’t faze him at first, but he’s thinking about it more and more often, as it turns out. And today, when the suited man asks him if Loki might be interested in water sports, it only sends Thor further into the obyss of confusion.
Firstly, he’s not sure what these water sports entail. Second, although he doesn’t doubt Mobius is a reasonable man, what does this have to do with arresting Loki?
“Forgive me,” Thor replies, “What are, uh… water sports?”
“Oh, yes! Sorry, big guy. Ya know, jetskis are quite fun for humans and otherwise. Diving, too. You think Loki would like that sort of thing?”
The god finds himself worrying his lip with little answer to the peculiar question. “Perhaps. They love adventures, you see, that’s a thing we have in common. You think Loki’s hiding somewhere, with, uh… jetskis?”
The grey haired man shrugs. Quite strange.
Then his friend continues as they walk along the hall, past several hunters and seemingly high security offices, “She must like jokes, right?”
“Oh, of course.”
Mobius laughs, “I figured,” and his smile isn’t aimed at Thor, but somewhere into the open air, distant and unexplainably fond, “God of Mischief, pranks in his blood. I’m not too bad myself.”
“Huh?”
When the shorter man opens the door for him, he shrugs again, “Sorry, buddy, this way. I mean, they’re incredibly witty. Don’t need to tell you that, I get it. I heard this joke from a Variant, I think they might like that one. You know it? So once there was-”
And so Mobius continues on, the joke must be brilliant, he’s already wheezing to himself, but now, the god’s pretty sure he understands.
Oh.
Oh.
Thor’s not as stupid as Loki claims, you see. And he has to say, he knows courtship when he sees it.
*
Does Thor understand why his younger sibling- or, a version of her, regardless, is hiding out in historic  apocalypses ? No, there’s not much logic in this, but it’s certainly in no way surprising.
Loki’s got a knack for adventures and danger simultaneously, after all.
But when he realises what Loki’s doing, he simply has to go, even if his moustached friend isn’t sure how to clear it with the TVA, or if it’s breaking the rules, but isn’t this what they assigned the god to do in the first place?
This is his younger sibling. Loki’s alive. And Thor, well, like he’s done all his life, and like Loki’s done all their life, one must always follow the other, at one point or the other. It’s fate, he decides.
And he finds him,  finally , after what feels as hundreds of millions of human years and even longer of their own, in the human city of Pompeii.
Loki isn’t exactly pleased to hear the TVA coming, that much is obvious from his face, but Thor is alone, and it’s only a matter of time before Mobius arrives, so Thor must find a chance to talk to his sibling alone.
And his sibling’s face changes from the expectant grin of a plan to kill the minutemen when they arrive to a gaping mouth in shock. Then realisation. Then frustration.
“Loki!”
And the god of mischief groans, exasperated and loud, the screams of the civilians barely fazing them, “Thor.”
It’s a matter of time, then, because they don’t  have much time before they’ll be sunken into the ground they’re standing on, and like Thor first started out his adventure in the Sacred Timeline, his first thought is to get Loki out of there.
It’s his first priority, to keep her safe. There’ll be no death. Not today. Not again.
His younger sibling has their eyes on the volcano as well, their many differences being so in sync at the strangest of times, and before Thor can even think about it, Loki reaches for his arm and they’re teleported somewhere- and some… when? else entirely.
It’s eerily quiet here, a distant rumble from the sky. Rocks as far as he can see. Darkness, besides bolts of lightning striking into the ocean before them, and blinking lights distantly behind them.
And here Loki is; a Variant like himself, as Mobius called it. Breathing.
“Why is it,” she nearly yells, clutching the strange device in her hand and giving Thor that familiar glare of destruction, “You always find a way, somehow,  anywhere, to ruin my perfect plan, brother? How? How are you here, you damn fool!?”
The insult is as it always is, and Loki looks like his blood might nearly boil over, but Thor just can’t help it.
He feels the tears in his eyes before they even fall. “Loki.”
“What-”
It’s only a small handful of times in all the centuries they’ve lived that he’s managed to stun his sibling into silence, a loss of words. This is another incident to add to the list.
Thor grips on so tight, he never wants to let go.
He can’t remember the last time they hugged, actually. It might’ve been when they were children.
Loki pats on his back, after a minute or two, and a breath of annoyance and… something else sounds at the same time as his own staggering breathing. His sibling’s never returned his hugs, you see, but she’s doing it now. At least, Thor surely wouldn’t mistake her holding onto him, albeit not as tightly as himself.
They sigh, “What has gotten into you now, you idiot?”
Thor laughs. It’s strained, but it feels  good. That one, that’s a thing he’s missed. Loki will surely think he’s lost his mind, but there’s nothing he’d rather do right now than listen to him call him the crudest things they could think of.
It feels like coming back home.
“You’re alive,” Thor whispers.
Loki huffs. “You’ve fallen for my fake death, huh? You fall for it every time.”
He shakes his head in response, knowing his sibling won’t be able to see it, but ultimately lets go, and just looks at them. He smiles. Weirdly, hesitantly, confusedly, Loki smiles back.
“You’re an idiot,” she tells him again, but it’s softer this time.
“Where have you taken us?” Thor asks instead, and the answer is for once a place he knows of, “This is Midgard, brother, but way after the humans. In about an hour, it’ll be nothing but dust.”
That’s a frightening thought, he decides. He’s already seen Asgard in ruins.
And Thor has to take him somewhere safer, before Mobius arrives. They can’t go back to the TVA without some explanation, Loki deserves that.
His sibling seems severely surprised when he uses his own device, and a protest begins, of course, but Thor finds the right time, in Asgard, and jumps them both to it. Before their mother’s death. They’ll have to steer clear of the past versions of themselves, and their parents, and anyone else, considering Loki was imprisoned, but they’ll be safe.
And easy to spot.
“Now is not a time for a homecoming, Thor,” she tells him, already pulling up the device.
“Loki, no,” he reaches out, and Loki reaches for their knife, classic Loki, “Give me time to explain, before they come.”
He rolls his eyes but doesn’t raise the knife, “You’re not taking me to the TVA, brother.”
Thor blinks. He almost wants to rewind time on that little screen in his hand, to make sure he heard them right, but stranger things have happened. “You know about the TVA?”
“Of course I do, you buffoon. Who do you think I’m running from?”
He bites his tongue. Oh.
Thor has to shrug. Loki sighs again.
“I know, I know, they’ll arrest me for crimes against the  Sacred Timeline  ,” they say, in an overly dramatic voice and throwing around their hands in flourish, “I can’t believe they got you to help them. I can’t believe  you found me.”
It feels quite like the good, old days, as Stark used to say. “I know you, Loki, even if you don’t think I do.”
They both settle into silence, and this is also strange, but the smile he gets in return, less confused and more nostalgic and… safe, it makes it worth it.
Then, the device in Thor’s hand beeps, and he lets his sibling look at it, and he looks all the more annoyed again.
“Guess I’ll have to surrender now, because of you,” she grumbles, for once, not searching for an escape route, “Who’s leading, anyway? B-15?”
Thor pats his shoulder, in what he hopes conveys comfort. “I’m not familiar, unfortunately. This leader is named Mobius.”
His sibling frowns, but shrugs non committedly, “A new face, then.”
It’s not very often Thor sees Loki in this state, confusion, if ever. His younger sibling’s always been one step ahead of them, two, even, himself struggling to keep up. That’s why he’s always had to watch out for them, before… before the Avengers.
“He seems very interested in you,” he chuckles, and when Loki only frowns deeper, he has to explain his ongoing suspicion, “He’s asked me a great many questions about you. I believe he admires you very much. Even more than myself.”
“So he’s a fan,” Loki says - ignoring the last statement of his, of course, but Thor knows she heard it.
“I’d say more than a fan,” he decides to be honest, and Loki’s brows furrow. Thor pats his sibling’s shoulder once more, “He holds, it seems, similar feelings to when I was courting Lady Jane.”
Loki looks like a giant question mark. “I beg your pardon?”
But they’re interrupted, as per usual. The answer Thor wants out doesn’t get out before Mobius steps out of the time portal, and grins at them both. He seems to hold his gaze at his sibling a little bit longer. His demeanor’s calm, as if… recognition. Coming back home.
And Loki stares back at their brother, eyes wide and brows raised, tilting her head, “This is the Mobius who wants to… court me?”
Thor nods. Loki’s mouth turns upwards to a grin, mischief absent from his face. And even if they’ll deny it if Thor mentions it, his younger sibling’s eyes hold a certain warmth when they look back at the stranger. “I see.”
*
Many great strange things have happened in what seems a short amount of time, but Thor’s put out of work at the TVA, and his sibling’s put to work instead, and Mobius tells him they’ll  reset  him.
“Don’t worry, big guy, it doesn’t hurt,” he chuckles, adjusting his tie, “Your friend Steve had the same deal. Wouldn’t call it punishment, but it’s subjective. You did good work, ya know.”
Loki’s sat at Mobius’ now abandoned desk, one hand on a stack of case files, her eyes meeting with Thor’s own. They’re used to goodbyes, as you can tell. And emotions aren’t exactly their strongest suit.
But his sibling nods to him. The smile has no hints of sarcasm, so he counts it as a win. As progress.
Thor doesn’t know if he can stop worrying, after all. He’ll always do it, and what if he, another version of himself, tries to go back in time again?
Loki’s the only family he has left. But at the same time, his younger sibling is right.
The sun will shine on us again. In another timeline, another universe, he figures. For now, Thor will have to let go, but they’ll always be connected after all. Thor and Loki couldn't be more different, but somehow the same.
“She’ll be safe here?” he asks, because he  has to, “You’re certain?”
Mobius smiles, like he’s heard it a million times before, “I promised you. I keep my promises, Thor.”
Of course. Of course. It’ll be fine. He’ll be fine.
“You ready?” his suited friend then asks, and he hesitantly nods.
“Ready as I’ll ever be.”
The man nods back, and the device in his hand lights up. The seconds seem excruciatingly long, but he’s got to get back, get moving, even without his younger sibling beside him. It’s a comforting thought, knowing there’s many more of them out there, in other timelines, following each other over and over again, as they’re meant to.
“Thank you, by the way,” Mobius then says, strangely enough, as the beams become stronger and the seconds count down. He winks before holding it out to Thor, a gesture for the reset to be complete, “For bringing them back to me.”

Loki Series Rewrite (AKA Loki Series but with Squirrel Girl): Ep 1
Hey guys! Long story short, I wasn’t a fan of the Loki series, so I decided to make my own rewrite (including my favorite Marvel character, Squirrel Girl!) These are basically a collection of scenes that I would’ve either added or rewritten to improve the show. Btw, this is a continuation of my Endgame rewrite where Loki comes back to life after dying in Infinity War, so the Loki in this version is modern-day Loki, not 2012 Loki. Also, the whole Loki x Sylvie self-cest thing made me VEEERRRRY UNCOMFY, so I got rid of it. Their relationship is purely platonic in this. Anyways, enjoy! (This work is in screenplay format.)
INT. TVA - DAY
We pan through the TVA and see agents at work, checking timelines and watching training videos. We see various TVA posters warning about variants and "protecting the sacred timeline."
We then cut to RAVONNA RENSLAYER in her office. She is at her desk, sorting through files. Suddenly, an agent bursts in.
AGENT
Ma'am, we have a situation.
Ravonna follows the agent to a computer, where we see a timeline branching off from the main one.
AGENT
Is this the variant we've been searching for?
Ravonna glances at the computer and nods.
RAVONNA
About damn time...
EXT. CHICAGO BAR, 1986 - NIGHT
We see a woman with long, black hair and a green dress chatting with a man in a bar. The song "Devil Woman" by Cliff Richard is playing in the background.
MAN
Can I interest you in another drink, beautiful?
The woman lets out a flirty laugh and blushes.
WOMAN
Oh, you're too kind.
The man turns to the bartender.
MAN
Hey, can you get my girl here a...
(He turns to the woman.)
What can I get you, honey?
WOMAN
Surprise me.
The man turns back to the bartender.
MAN
You heard her.
The woman has a devilish smirk on her face as she watches them. The man turns back to her as the bartender starts mixing a drink.
MAN
You know, I feel selfish. I've been talking so much about myself, but I still don't know a thing about you.
WOMAN
Well... what do you want to know?
Suddenly, another man approaches them.
MAN #2
Hey, what do you think you're doing with my date?!
MAN
Your date? She's mine, asshole!
MAN #2
I caught her first!
(He turns to the woman.)
I'm sorry, honey, is this guy bothering you?
MAN
Bothering her?! You listen here, shithead-
He grabs the other man and they begin to wrestle with each other.
WOMAN
(Playfully)
Oh no, please don't fight over me...
As the men grow more violent, a bit of green magic shoots out of the woman's hand, causing the first man's wallet to fly into her grasp. She slips by the men, undetected as the bartender tries to break them up. Outside the bar, the woman walks off. With a smirk, she shifts into LOKI, now in his male form. He unveils the tesseract with magic and disappears.
INT. THE BENATAR - NIGHT
Loki reappears in the Guardians' ship, where Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy are waiting for him. Loki smirks.
LOKI
Another successful venture.
THOR
Did they fight?
LOKI
Like bilgesnipe.
Thor bursts into laughter, and Loki hands Rocket the wallet.
LOKI
I also got the wallet, as requested. Although, I don't think Midgardian currency will have much value on the far side of the galaxy.
ROCKET
Who cares about the money? I just wanted the wallet.
(He dumps out the dollar bills and admires the wallet.)
This is nice leather...
LOKI
Anyone else have any travel requests?
QUILL
Oh, I got a whole bunch.
NEBULA
Quit acting like children. An infinity stone is not a toy to be played with.
LOKI
Oh, please. The tesseract and I go far back. If anyone can control it, I can.
ROCKET
You know, I'm starting to think you've just gotten sick of being around us, and now you're just looking for an excuse to get away.
LOKI
I will neither confirm nor deny that.
THOR
By that, he means "yes."
ROCKET
That's pretty rude of you, grease weasel.
Loki scowls at him.
DRAX
Can you travel to Kylos? I would greatly enjoy having some trego fruit again.
LOKI
Certainly.
The tesseract starts to glow in his hands.
INT. TVA - DAY
The agent and Ravonna are still at the computer.
AGENT
He's using the stone again. He's going to time-jump.
RAVONNA
Block it. Intercept him.
The agent presses a button.
EXT. MONGOLIA - DAY
Loki crash lands in the Gobi Desert and wakes up, looking utterly confused as a group of villagers approach him.
VILLAGER
(in Mongolian)
Who are you? Why have you come to our home?
Loki raises an eyebrow and opens his mouth to respond. Suddenly, a portal opens and several TVA agents enter. They lean down to examine the tesseract, and Loki abruptly rushes over to them.
LOKI
Don't touch that!
The agents ready their prune sticks. Suddenly, HUNTER B-15 opens a portal and enters.
HUNTER B-15
It appears to be a standard sequence violation.
(She checks her tem-pad)
Branch is growing at a stable rate and slope. Variant identified.
LOKI
I beg your pardon?
HUNTER B-15
On behalf of the Time Variance Authority, I hereby arrest you for crimes against the sacred timeline. Hands up.
The agents activate their prune sticks.
HUNTER B-15
You're coming with us.
LOKI
I'm sorry, who's "us"?
Hunter B-15 activates her own prune stick.
HUNTER B-15
Last chance, variant.
Loki chuckles.
LOKI
Look, I don't know who the hell you seem to think you are... But if you don't mind, this is actually your last chance.
(Beat)
Now get out of my way.
Before he can attack, Hunter B-15 strikes him with her stick.
INT. TVA COURTROOM - DAY
Ravonna pounds her gavel.
RAVONNA
Next case, please!
Hunter B-15 forces Loki onto the stand.
RAVONNA
"Laufeyson"... Variant L1130, aka "Loki Laufeyson"...
LOKI
I prefer "Odinson," thank you.
After a pause, Ravonna shrugs.
RAVONNA
Very well...
(She crosses out "Laufeyson" on his case file and writes in "Odinson.")
Loki Odinson, you are charged with sequence violation 7-20-89. How do you plead?
Loki chuckles.
LOKI
Madam, a god doesn't plead. Look, this has been a very enjoyable pantomime, but I'd like to go home now.
RAVONNA
Are you guilty or not guilty, sir?
Loki smirks.
LOKI
Guilty of being the god of mischief, yes. Guilty of finding all of this incredibly tedious, yes. Guilty of a... "crime"... against the "sacred timeline"? Absolutely not, you have the wrong person.
RAVONNA
Oh, really? And who should we have?
LOKI
Well, in my defense, the only reason I ever came in possession of the tesseract is because the Avengers traveled back in time.
Mobius enters the courtroom.
RAVONNA
We're not here to talk about the Avengers. What they did was supposed to happen; you reviving yourself with the tesseract and running around time, causing chaos was not.
Loki laughs.
LOKI
I'm sorry - not supposed to happen according to whom?
RAVONNA
The timekeepers.
INT. TIME THEATER - DAY
Mobius is showing Loki clips of his life and trying to dig deeper into his psyche.
MOBIUS
You know, trying to kill all the frost giants, invading Earth, I don't see anything very mischievous about this...
He plays a clip of the bifrost nearly destroying Jotunheim. A family of frost giants runs in fear as the land is destroyed. A little girl screams as her father is vaporized by the blast. Loki is visibly uncomfortable.
MOBIUS
Look at that. Did you enjoy doing that?
LOKI
Enough of your games. You've made your point.
Ignoring him, Mobius plays the clip of him telling Kurse where to go.
MOBIUS
And then, you tried tricking the dark elves into finding Thor, but instead, you sent them right to Frigga.
Loki tenses when he sees Frigga fighting Malekith.
LOKI
I don't want to watch this.
He winces, trying to keep himself together, as he watches Malekith stab Frigga.
MOBIUS
Well, you're going to watch it. Because that's your life, that's the consequences of your actions, and that is the proper flow of time! Now, why don't you tell me, do you enjoy hurting people?
LOKI
I don't have to play your games-
MOBIUS
Do you enjoy killing?
LOKI
I'll kill you.
MOBIUS
What, like you did your mother?
Enraged, Loki tosses a chair at him. Mobius dodges it, and it flies through the hologram of Frigga's dead body. Loki lunges at Mobius, but he uses the time twister to send him back on the ground. Loki growls in pain.
MOBIUS
Sorry, the time twister just loops you, not the furniture. You weren't born to be king, Loki. You were born to cause pain and suffering and death. That's how it is, that's how it was, and that's how it always will be. All so that others can achieve their best versions of themselves.
LOKI
(Voice cracking)
That's not true. You're lying.
MOBIUS
It is true. Your life ended after Thanos snapped your neck, because you fulfilled your purpose of assembling the Avengers to destroy you. Your purpose was never to become a hero. You're a villain, and that will never change as long as the sacred timeline runs its course.
INT. TIME THEATER - DAY
After Loki escapes and returns to the time theater on his own, he finds a folder of papers on the table. He opens it and reads the first file. It reads "LOKI ODINSON - MAIN OBJECTIVES: MURDER, LIE, MANIPULATE. LIFE PURPOSE: CATALYST FOR THE AVENGERS. OBJECTIVE FULFILLED. LIFE TERMINATED. END OF FILE.
Horrified, Loki stares at the file as tears run down his face. After a moment, he starts laughing as Hunter B-15 enters.
HUNTER B-15
Something funny?
After a pause, Loki shakes his head.
LOKI
Glorious purpose...
INT. TIME THEATER - DAY
Loki is talking with Mobius after being apprehended again.
LOKI
I will admit, the TVA is... formidable. Even an infinity stone is useless here.
(Beat)
You're not going to let me return to my own timeline, are you?
(Beat)
MOBIUS
Normally, no, we wouldn't. But... if you help us... maybe the timekeepers might be willing to make an exception. A rogue variant's been killing our minutemen.
LOKI
And you need the god of mischief to help you stop him?
MOBIUS
That's right.
LOKI
Why me?
MOBIUS
The variant we're hunting is... you.
Have some actual Lady Loki yay!
So yeah, the purpose of this episode was mainly to re-establish the show within the continuity of my version of Endgame. Squirrel Girl comes in next episode!

A/N: I hate how I have barely had any time to write lately! In all honesty, moving to a different country is quite  the challenge! 😂 I hope you enjoy the new chapter, I can’t wait to dive back into writing excessively, haha! ♥
Jess breathed out, watching how the warm air turned into fog. It was way too chilly down here. She had asked Mobius to install some radiators months ago but he wouldn’t listen. Loki on the other hand seemed to have no problem with the cold at all. He strutted next to her like he owned the place, with his head held high and a dark expression on his face.
M had a point. Despite the collar, it was a risk bringing Loki to a party of all things. But then again… she would be sure to laugh if he jumbled up the celebrations. Dave deserved it, kind of. Frankly, he could be a dick sometimes.
Loki smirked to himself. Her dress was green, with thin shoulder straps and a heart-shaped neckline. He offered her his arm when they stepped into the cafeteria, bathing in the mistrustful looks the whole of TVA eyed them with.
Mobius was stood at the buffet table, holding a glass filled with vodka and a green olive swimming in it in one hand while the other was buried in his pocket. The tawdry music, the chatting and the constant clattering of plates and cutlery made it nearly impossible for him to make out what the senior manager was saying now.
Warily, Loki glared him down. He was either oblivious to his excellent hearing, stupid enough to discuss such clandestine matters in the hallway or… or he meant for him to eavesdrop. Loki held on to the thought. He trusted him to feed him pathetic bits and pieces of information to keep him on his toes, to throw him small bones like a starved dog.
What if he was cleverer than he assumed he was? If he had incited Jess to spend time with him, make him believe she was on his side when she secretly ran off every day to tell Mobius about his behaviour like a child in day-care? If he used her to keep him on a leash in this godforsaken place? Loki gnashed his teeth.
“Look what the cat dragged in.” He mocked when he spotted him. The Trickster narrowed his eyes at him. From the corner of his eye, he noticed Jess rolling hers. Either way, he would not allow them to manipulate him and instead turn the tables. He was the master of mischief, after all.
“Enjoy yourself while you still can, Loki.” Dave added. “There’s a high chance you’ll kick the bucket next week.”
Jess rolled her eyes once more—or perhaps she was still rolling them, Loki was unsure. His eyes darted over to Mobius again, noticing with both dismay and an odd feeling of satisfaction making itself comfortable in his guts how the senior manager studied their interlinked arms.
A thin smile formed on his lips. Oh yes. Whatever your play is, I will turn it against you and I will burn this entire place to the ground until all you have left is a pile of ash and Jess—lovely and delicate Jess—will help me do so whether she is willing or not.
“Suck it up, Dave.” Jess barked. “Do you drink coke?” She continued sweetly then, directed at Loki.
“I beg your pardon?” He leaned forward slightly—close enough for her nostrils to be filled with his scent like she was some goddamn predator sensing its prey. If anything, Loki would be the predator in this scenario. She was but a lamb compared to him—a lamb who could kick his shin but a lamb nonetheless.
“Coke. Black fizzy drink, very sweet, spiked with Whiskey—not normally but definitely tonight.” She cleared her throat and winked at him and, much to his own surprise, his heart skipped a beat upon the flirty gesture. Perhaps this was the very reason he let her grab his arm and drag him away from both Mobius and Dave to plunder the bar.
“Don’t let her get drunk!” He heard Mobius call after him. Loki frowned.
Whoever was playing bartender tonight and doing a terribly slow job with that, Jess paid them no attention. Unceremoniously, she leaned over the counter, grabbing two glasses and a bottle of Whiskey. Granted, Loki knew nothing of Midgardian drinks and how there were properly mixed, he had a feeling, however, that more than half of the glass filled with Whiskey was not the proper way to mix a delightful alcoholic refreshment.
At least, so he had to admit, the view was a rather delectable one, with her backside wiggling around right before his eyes. He suppressed a dark chuckle.
Once she had tapped the faucet pouring a dark brown liquid to mix with the Whiskey and handed him one, she grinned, heaving herself up onto the counter completely and resting her feet on the barstool.
“Skål!” She announced, winking once more. Loki took a sip to conceal how thickly he had to swallow. As expected, the coke-Whiskey-mixture tasted horrible. His face distorted, making Jess laugh.
“There’s no Asgardian ale in this place, I’m afraid. Do you dance? You’re the God of Mischief, you must be dancing.”
Loki raised his eyebrows in response. “Is that all you will do at this so-called party? Drink and dance and then drink some more?”
Jess shrugged. “Never let anyone tell you that alcohol is not the solution. I’ve had some amazing nights forgetting my own name. So?” She downed her drink, slamming the empty glass on the counter so forcefully he feared it would break under the impact. “Do you dance?”
The music, whatever it was, was too slow for Jess’ taste. She’d much rather listen to some techno hits, and some Hip Hop and Dubstep hits to move her body to. It almost felt a little like space. A place to lose herself in, utterly and wholly, a place making her stronger rather than taking her energy away from her.
But Dave had always had a very uninspiring music taste and, given it was his anniversary, the music was unlikely to change anytime soon. Loki’s lips parted when she took his glass from his hand and downed it too. Neither of them expected the jolt of electricity rippling through them when she took his hand and entangled her fingers with his to pull him towards the middle of the cafeteria where Minutemen of all departments, scientists and even some of the security were moving to the music.
“That’s an interesting development after all, don’t you think?” Loki heard Dave say. Jess swirled them both around, her blue eyes closed in an attempt to dream herself into a reality where she could go out with her friends and lose her mind in a dimly lit nightclub surrounded and desired by both men and women alike. She would drink until she had forgotten about her parents and until she had lost her grasp on reality to enter space and be free and independent. Jess did not allow herself to dream often these days, for when she did… the urge to escape this place once more and turn her back on Mobius rose to an extent it brought her physical pain to resist.
“Well, he is charismatic. That doesn’t mean anything, does it? Jess has a weakness for bad boys and Loki is pretty much the definition of that.”
“Please. Thor’s little brother, how strong could he possibly be without his beloved sceptre?” Dave snorted.
“I wouldn’t underestimate him, especially not this variant. I wouldn’t have brought him here if I didn’t think he’d be of use. He’s smart. He doesn’t trust us.” Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Mobius shrug. “We have a good reason not to trust him either. Not yet, at least. I’ve studied his entire life, remember?”
“You are not seriously thinking about removing that collar at some point, are you?”
Loki growled, lest he could not decide whether it was because of how good his palm felt against the small of Jess’ back or the way Dave and Mobius kept talking about him behind his back.
“Now I thought you said he couldn’t possibly be that strong without the sceptre?” Dave replied nothing to that. He did not need to. Mobius had made it clear enough that he was the figure of authority here. There was no way, however, he was going to be able to concentrate on this devilish bureaucrat and his ridiculous attempts to manipulate him as long as Jess’ body was rubbing against his in the most wicked ways. This woman, human or not, knew exactly what she was doing, regardless of the alcohol already clouding her system.
He smirked when another song ended and there was a moment of silence in his heart upon the lack of a loud bass reverberating in his chest. Jess opened her eyes in an almost luscious manner and took his hand once more to pour herself another drink.
He liked the way she took charge. Apart from Sif, she was so unlike all the Asgardian women he had known during his time in the realm he grew up in. Jess was neither offering him her devotion nor was she withholding her affection. His heart jumped upon remembering how she had hugged him in the bathroom. Peculiar.
While she emptied another repulsive coke-and-whiskey-mixture, his eyes caught another buffet table positioned at the other end of the room—one he had not seen upon first entering this absurd get-together.
“What is this?” Jess spun around.
“What is what?”
“This.” He pointed at the table. The cooks had outdone themselves with the number of bowls full of fruit neatly chopped up—the highlight, however, was the massive chocolate fountain bubbling away peacefully and luring every passer-by into tasting it.
“Have you never seen a chocolate fountain before?”
Loki frowned, making Jess chuckle. Heavens, if he keeps doing that, his face might stay like that, she thought.
“Come on, I’ll show you.” Once within reach of the buffet table, she treated herself to a strawberry that she stabbed with one of the provided plastic toothpicks and coated it with chocolate. She grinned when Loki’s smirk returned and copied her with the sole difference of picking a grape instead.
“How does this thing operate?”
“Well, I’m not an engineer but as far as I’m concerned, you pour molten chocolate into the fountain, which is electric, and the pump inside will make sure to keep it flowing. Apparently, Asgard is not as advanced as I thought it was. Chocolate fountains are extremely important for one’s emotional wellbeing, you know.” Jess downed the Whiskey glass she had taken with her. “And so is alcohol. Are you gonna stay here all evening now?”
“I just might.” Loki winked.
“Suit yourself.” She announced, holding up her empty glass. “I’m getting another drink.”
The God of Mischief rolled his eyes and snatched her upper arm, holding it tightly enough for to gasp—and not in a terrified or intimidated way, so he noticed. But either way, he was not going to let her poison herself.
“You’ve had enough, don’t you think?” He snarled, snatching the glass from her.
“Excuse me? Give that back.”
“No. I said you’ve had enough.”
“I’m supposed to supervise you, not the other way around! Now give that back.”
Loki scoffed. “You’ll do a marvellous job with that, all drunk and out of your mind.”
Heavens, not again. Jess gasped for air—a desperate sound swallowed by the loud music and the bass vibrating in her chest. Loki caught it nonetheless. There it was, this figurative magnet, this invisible rope tying him to her like a bloody lap dog.
It was genuine concern purling in his stomach, he did know this much. Regardless of Mobius’ half-hearted request, Loki certainly did not want Jess to get drunk and damage her liver beyond repair. Mortals were fragile as was and yet here they were, stuffing themselves with ridiculous amounts of sugar and fat, spending all day watching silly TV shows and pouring alcohol down their throats like it was water from Mimir’s fountain itself.
“I dare you…” He murmured, his composure on the edge of a steep cliff threatening to overwhelm him, rip all control from him. Jess leaned back some more, a feeble attempt to escape his advances that she did not wish to refuse altogether. “I dare you.” He repeated, jumping in at the deep end if anything to quench the curiosity and feel what his body and, for Heaven’s sake, even his mind had been longing for. What had he to lose? “Kiss me. I know you have been thinking about it.”
He pulled her close again and this time, he was certain to have heard a whimper. Loki’s cock stirred, even more so when she turned her head away and his nose brushed against her cheek.
“Is it Mobius?” He purred. Jess struggled to form a proper sentence in response or even breathe evenly. Eventually, she nodded. “I believe… I believe we have both had enough of this party, have we not?”
Jess bit her lower lip and glanced behind herself. M was engrossed in a conversation with Ravonna Renslayer, the badass time judge she never interacted with much. Well… she certainly was none of her concern now.
“Quick,” she breathed out, “before they notice us leaving.”
 ~*~
You are a grown woman. Loki is a handsome man. It’s obvious the chemistry between you is right. You’re sexually attracted to him and he just confirmed that the feeling is mutual. This is not your first one-night stand. It might not be your last. God, I hope it’s not my last. That man is literally not from this world.
“What are you doing?” Jess snapped herself out of her thoughts when Loki stopped in front of one of the control rooms. The walls were made entirely of glass, revealing a bored security officer staring at about a dozen computer screens in utter darkness. “He’ll see us!”
Loki narrowed his eyes and huffed when he found what he was looking for—the camera monitoring Jess’ unit. Ah… this was indeed perfect. Just like he had suspected. He could see the sofa and the unmade sheets on top of it, and the coffee table with countless peanut bags on it. But even without his powers, nobody would see him sneak along the wall and into Jess’ bedroom.
“Loki?”
“There is a dead angle in your unit.”
“So?” He winked again, making her lower regions clench. When he simply kept on walking, she rushed after him like a cat knowing it was about to be fed.

A/N: Muhahaha. In case anyone is interested what song Loki and Jess danced to, you can find it right here!

what is and what should never be
i meant to upload this here, but i forgot, so i'm doing it now. my fix it fic for ep 4 of loki. (ao3 link here) SPOILERS FOR EP 4 OF LOKI
Loki stumbles down the hill, coming up next to Sylvie.
She sits facing their impending doom, watching rocks crash into the surface of Lamentis 1.
Loki sits down next to her. “I’m sorry.” He says.
Sylvie doesn’t respond for a few moments, deep in thought.
“I remember Asgard.” She says eventually. “Not much but I remember my home. My people. My life.” She licks her lips before continuing. “The universe wants to break free so it manifests chaos. Like me being born the Goddess of Mischief.”
And it hits Loki that Sylvie’s only real crime was being born female instead of male.
“As soon as that created a big enough detour from their Sacred Timeline, the TVA showed up, erased my reality and took me prisoner. I was just a child.” Sylvie stares straight ahead, keeping her head high and her voice flat, but Loki hears the slight tremor in her voice, the way she clenches her hands together to keep them from shaking.
“I escaped. Stole a TemPad and I ran for a long, long time which really sucked. Everywhere and every when I went caused a nexus event. Sent up a smoke flare. Because I’m not supposed to exist.” At that, Sylvie turns to Loki, tears shining in her eyes. “Eventually I figured out where to hide. And so that’s where I grew up. The ends of a thousand worlds.” Sylvie takes a breath and looks back out at Lamentis 1. “Now, that’s where I’ll die.”
Loki follows her gaze, rocks crashing into the planet, sending up dust and rubble.
“Do you think that what makes a Loki a Loki is the fact that we’re destined to lose?” Sylvie asks, breaking the silence.
“No.” Loki responds. “We may lose. Sometimes painfully. But we don’t die. We survive. I mean, you did. You were just a child when the TVA took you, but you nearly took down the organization that claims to govern the order of time. You did it on your own! You ran rings around them!” Loki turns to Sylvie, grinning. “If you survived getting hunted by the TVA your whole life, there is no way we’re going to die from a planet.”
Sylvie lets out a small laugh, and turns to face Loki.
“You really think so?”
“Yes.”
Sylvie smiles and turns back to their impending doom.
He and Sylvie weren’t so different. Obviously, Sylvie had some shit she was going through, but they had the same outlook. Free will, and all that.
Loki turns back to Sylvie, thinking that maybe, even though he destroyed every relationship he had ever had, maybe this time, maybe he wouldn’t be alone. Maybe he did deserve to have it all, to have friends, to have a partner.
Loki’s mind flashes to Mobius, replaying their last moments in the superstore.
He didn’t want to leave Mobius, but he had to. He had to know what Sylvie was planning.
Two bright orange doors open behind them, and they stand up. Agents march out and grab Loki and Sylvie, attaching collars to their necks and shoving them through the doors.
Sylvie struggles, managing to get into B-15’s head, before B-15 slams the hilt of her baton into Sylvie’s head. Loki flinches, struggling to help Sylvie, but Mobius walks out of the door.
“Loki’s with me. B-15, take the other variant.” Mobius orders. Loki stops struggling, desperate to talk to Mobius, to explain what happened.
B-15 pulls Sylvie through one portal and Mobius leads Loki through the second, flanked by two agents.
“Well.” Mobius starts.
“Well, what?” Loki asks,
“I know you got some quip you’re dying to say.”
“I don’t have a quip.” Loki says, pulling against the agents.
“Oh really.” Mobius responds, leading them into the same Time Theater as the first time.
“Mobius, please, I need you to listen to me.” Loki begs. “I’m not falling for your tricks this time.” Mobius starts. “You know, I realized something, while you were running around with the other Loki variant. You’re not really the god of Mischief.”
“Oh here it comes.” Loki says, unable to keep himself from being mean. It hurt that Mobius had taken them away, he thought they were friends. But, per usual, Loki doesn’t have any. “The folksy dopey insult from the folksy dope. What am I? The God of Self Sabotage? The God of Back stabbing?” Loki demands, keeping the pain out of his voice. “
“Just kind of an asshole.” Mobius says. “And a bad friend.”
Loki feels his heart break. He never wanted to be a bad friend, he never wanted any of this. He didn’t mean to betray Mobius.
Mobius opens another door, this one red instead of orange. The agents start to push Loki in it, but he struggles, calling out to Mobius.
“Please, Mobius! Listen to me!”
Mobius waves his hand. “Alright. One last desperate trick from the desperate trickster. Whadda got?” Mobius asks.
“The TVA is lying to you.” Loki starts.
Mobius pauses for a second, and Loki thinks he might actually listen, but Mobius starts laughing. “Put him in.”
And with that, Loki is shoved through the portal.
***
Loki stumbles out, looking around.
Asgard. He’s back home.
“You!” Loki spins around to see Sif holding a chunk of her hair and glaring at Loki. “You conniving craven pathetic worm! You did this!”
“What?” Loki asks.
Sif slaps him.
“I hope you know you deserve to be alone and you always will be.”
Loki thinks of Mobius, his first real friend, and of Sylvie, his not-quite-sister.
He managed to fuck both of those up.
Sif is right.
“A bad memory prison?” Loki says. “How quaint.”
And with that, Sif knees him in the balls, before punching him in the face. Loki keels over and Sif marches out.
“Is that it?” Loki says. “You know what I did after that. I went and had a nice hot bath and a glass of wine. And I never thought about it again.”
“You!” Loki turns around as Sif marches towards him. She slaps him again.
“You conniving craven pathetic worm, you did this!” Sif exclaims.
“Ow!” Loki cries.
“I hope you know you deserve to be alone and you always will be.” Sif knees him again and punches him, before stomping out.
The memory repeats, over and over again, each time Sif’s words cut deeper and deeper, and suddenly Loki sees the point of the prison.
It’s not to relive the worst memories, it’s to relive the ones you didn’t think hurt you, but actually hurt you a lot. It’s to show that though the actions may be small, they still hurt. A lot.
“You.” Sif says, for what feels like the millionth time. “You conniving craven-
“-Sif. Sif.-”
“-pathetic worm!” Sif finishes, talking over Loki.
“Please, please. No more. I beg you.” Loki lay on the floor, his face red and aching, his heart aching more. “I’m a horrible person. I get it. I really am. I cut off your hair because I thought it would be funny. But it’s not. You didn’t deserve that. I was insecure and angry and I took it out on you and I shouldn’t have. I’m sorry. I crave attention, because I’m scared of being alone.”
Sif doesn’t say anything, and Loki worries that this was all for nothing, when she holds out her hand. Loki lets out a breath and takes it, pulling himself up.
Sif pulls him closer. “You are alone.” She says “And you always will be.”
With that, Sif walks away.
Loki prepares himself for the next Sif to walk in, but Mobius walks in instead.
“Okay, Loki. You ready to talk.”
Loki nods, desperate to tell Mobius everything.
***
“You care about her.” Mobius says, and Loki almost recoils.
“No, I don’t.”
“Yes, you do. You like her. You formed this sick twisted relationship with yourself ! That’s pure chaos, that could break reality. It’s breaking my reality right now. What an incredible seismic narcissist. Falling for yourself.”
Loki opens his mouth to protest, to tell Mobius that he and Sylvie aren’t anywhere near that line, that Loki likes her as a sister, not anything else. That Mobius’s faith in him helped Loki talk to Sylvie.
But he can’t. Because he betrayed Mobius and now Mobius only sees him as a liar and a traitor.
“Her name is Sylvie.” Loki says instead.
“That’s lovely.” Mobius says. “Is that with an I E or just an I?”
“It’s not important right now, Mobius.”
“Then what is important?” Mobius demands. “Saving your girlfriend? Betraying my trust? Trying to overthrow the Time Keepers? Between all of this, it seems like you’re pretty busy. Now you’ve told me about fifty lies in the past 10 minutes-”
“-I’m not lying!” Loki protests.
“-Now I’m supposed to, what? Believe that this time you won’t betray me? Believe that your girlfriend is telling the truth?”
“She’s not my girlfriend!” Loki demands.
“Whatever you want to call her! Your female self that you have some demented crush on!”
“YOU’RE ALL VARIANTS!” Loki shouts, hitting his hands on the table. “Everyone who works at the TVA is a variant! The Time Keepers didn’t create you, they kidnapped you from the timeline and erased your memories! You might’ve had a family, Mobius, and the TVA took that from you. But Sylvie can access those memories. That’s why I was working with her.”
Mobius looks down. “Nice try.” He says. “That was good. You two, what a pair. I’m done with you.” The door opens and two agents walk in, grabbing Loki and pulling him towards the portal.
“You know.” Loki says. “Out of all of the liars in this place, and there are a great many, you are the biggest.”
“Why? Cus I lied about your girlfriend.” Mobius says, not meeting Loki’s eyes.
“No. That I respect. It’s because you’re lying to yourself.” Loki finishes, begging Mobius to look him in the eyes, to believe him.
But Mobius never looks up, and Loki allows himself to be pushed through the portal again.
***
Mobius comes out of the red portal. “What are you doing?”
“Passing the time.” Loki answers.
“Do you care about her?” Mobius asks.
Not as much as I care about you. Loki wants to say. I care about her as a sister, but you were my first friend. My only friend.
“I wouldn’t say care is the right word.” Loki says. “She’s pretty annoying. I think we covered this back there-”
“Shut up! Shut up!” Mobius says, moving closer. “Do you really think you deserve to be alone?”
Loki pauses.
“Loki?”
“You told me to shut up!” Loki defends.
“Do you really think you deserve to be alone?” Mobius asks, softer this time.
“I don’t know.”
“Well you better figure it out quick, because whatever nexus event happened on Lamentis 1, I think that can bring this whole place down, so we’d better-”
“We?”
“Yes, Loki, we.”
“I thought… I thought you didn’t trust the word of two Lokis?” Loki asks, hanging his head.
“No. But I trust the word of my friend.” Loki lifts his head and meets Mobius’s eyes. The two share a soft smile. “You were right. About the TVA. You were right from the beginning. If you want to get out of here, you need to trust me.”
“I do.” Loki says. “I trust you.”
“You can be whoever, whatever you want to be, even someone good. I mean, just in case anyone ever told you differently.”
Loki moves forward, capturing Mobius’s lips on his own. Mobius freezes for a second, before wrapping his arms around Loki’s waist.
“I thought-” Mobius starts, breaking off the kiss. “I thought Sylvie-”
“I know. But she’s like my sister. You’re- you’re different.”
Mobius grins, and takes Loki’s hand. “We should go while Ravonna is distracted.” Mobius pulls Loki through the portal and into a hallway, where Ravonna and four other agents are standing.
“Hello, Mobius.” Ravonna says.
“Ravonna. Good, I was just looking for you. I accidentally grabbed yours instead of mine.” Mobius lies, holding out Ravonna’s TemPad. Ravonna takes it, and motions for the agents to grab Mobius and Loki.
“Wait, wait, wait, what is this about?” Mobius demands.
“The Variant got in your head, Mobius. Just like I told you he would.” Ravonna says.
“He didn’t get in my head, Ravonna, he opened my eyes! We’re all Variants! I had a life before this! Maybe I had a jetski! The TVA is lying to us!” Mobius shouts.
Ravonna flicks her wrist and Mobius jumps in front of Loki right as one of the agents tries to prune him.
Loki watches in horror as Mobius disappears right in front of his eyes. Tears form in his eyes. “M-Mobius?”
“Grab him.” Ravonna orders, and Loki barely has the strength to fight them as they drag him and Sylvie to see the Time Keepers.
“You okay?” Sylvie whispers, but Loki can barely spare her a second glance. It’s his fault Mobius is dead.
His fault that the lo- the love of his life is dead.
But Loki fights, because if there’s anything he knows how to do, it's to get revenge.
He barely notices, though, when Ravonna stabs him in the back, because if at the end of all this, he gets to see Mobius again, he’s fine with death.
***
“Loki. Loki, wake up.”
“Am I dead?” Loki mumbles.
“You will be, if you don’t get up.” Loki’s eyes snap open.
“Mobius?”
“Good to see you again, variant.”
Loki sits up and throws his arms around Mobius.
“I thought you were dead. I watched you die.” Loki murmurs.
“Can’t get rid of me that easily.” Mobius says.
“Good.” Loki says, refusing to let go of Mobius ever again. “I love you.” He admits. “And I’m so sorry for leaving you.”
“I love you too.” Mobius says and Loki hugs him tighter.

Their Last Case [TEW Fanfic]
Disclaimer: I wrote this story long before the actual game came out and when we didn’t know more of Stefano than one picture and a little entry on the Bethesda website. Also: Sexual Themes and Slight Abuse Warning.
Joseph could barely hold his eyes open. He couldn’t differentiate between reality and dream anymore. Was this the real world? Or another trick?
He coughed and tasted blood in his mouth. Then he heard a voice. A voice that became familiar. Was familiar.
“We’ve big plans for you, Joseph. I bet you will love them.”
He wasn’t able to respond. He could barely breathe.
“Don’t worry. We’ll send you back into STEM immediately. You’ll feel better there.”
Joseph woke up in an empty grey hallway. He sat up moaning and rubbed his head. As he looked down on himself he noticed that he wasn’t wearing any clothes. He should search for something to put on…
“My favorite piece of art.” A brunette tall man, wearing a suit and a red scarf, appeared behind him.
“Stefano…” Joseph stood up. “Do you want to kill me again? Last time did really hurt…”
“According to your outfit I would prefer the other kind of art.” He went around him, gently stroking from one shoulder to the other. “You’re such an unconventional beauty, Joseph Oda.”
“They said they’ve got big plans for me.”
“Did they?” Stefano stopped in front of him. “What could be bigger than being part of my art?”
“I don’t know. They didn’t tell me.”
Stefano stroked with one of his red gloves over Joseph’s cheek. “You’re mine. They should know by now.”
“They consider me theirs.” Joseph grabbed Stefano’s hand. “But if I had to choose it would always be you. You know that, right?”
“Of course, I do. I know that they keep your body.”
“My body…” Joseph sighed. “I need clothes.”
“I don’t think so.” Stefano stroked over his chest. “I want to draw you like that.”
“Not today. I have to find out what they want to do to me.” Joseph played with his suit jacket. “I don’t want to face it naked.”
“That’s probably a good point. I’ll lend you some clothes. After I am finished with you.” Stefano pinned him at the wall.
“Please don’t be too rough. What if I have to fight?”
“It’s a pity… but I won’t allow anyone else to kill you.” Stefano dragged Joseph into a rough kiss. Their tongues fought while Stefano slowly put a finger into him. Joseph moaned out loud. He got used to it. He even found pleasure in it by now.
When they first met he hated Stefano. On their second met it was all the same. But he learned to love him. All that was left in his life was Mobius. And Stefano. And between those two he definitely preferred the crazy artist. Because despite every kill, every rape, every hurt… Stefano always treated him with love. Made him compliments, claimed him to be his property. And sometimes he could get really sweet. Things that Joseph missed in his former life. The one he loved… he could only watch and do nothing, slowly breaking apart on it.
At first, he was sure that Sebastian would come and safe him. But with every passing day that hope got lost more and more. His former partner had absolutely no reason to come back. At least no reason to come back for him…
So he just enjoyed being Stefano’s muse. Once, on a very good day, they even had a romantic dinner together. Joseph had to smile as he thought about that evening and wrapped his arms tighter around his lover. Maybe they would do that again one day. Not that he would dare to hope it. Hope had become his worst enemy.
“Enough now.”
They hadn’t finished fucking when suddenly a Mobius agent appeared. His face was hidden by the suit. It made Joseph uncomfortable every time.
“Excuse me, don’t you see we’re busy?!” Stefano gave him an angry glance.
“Mister Oda doesn’t have time for you today. He has got something to do.”
“Yes, he has! Being fucked by me.” Stefano snickered and rammed hard into him. It made Joseph cry in pleasure and pain.
The Mobius agent put out a device. Within two seconds Stefano laid unconscious on the floor. Joseph landed on him since they were still connected but the agent ripped him off with a painful pull.
“Put this on.” He gave him some clothes. Joseph’s heart stood still for a second. It was his old uniform. Even the badge was still there. He hadn’t seen this in ages.
“Why…?”
But the agent was already gone as he looked up. After he checked Stefano’s breathing, he put on the clothes. Carefully, he gave him a little kiss on the forehead, before he left the hallway.
Union was dark today. Or maybe it was just his imagination who told him that. He lost his sense for reality a while ago.
“Joseph! Oh my god!”
His senses froze as he heard that voice. No. It couldn’t be. It couldn’t be real.
He turned around and all he could see was a masculine chest since he got hugged hard. It felt so real… he could feel the body warmth, smell the scent of booze and cigarettes that always covered him…
“I thought I lost you forever.” Sebastian smiled at him and it made Joseph walk back a few steps. Yes, he did look different. Like he aged for some time. Like the loss of everything broke him even more apart. But this couldn’t be him.
“Don’t think I’ll fall for this!”, he screamed. He did fall for this trick way too often.
“W-what are you talking about?” Sebastian went a few steps towards him.
“Don’t touch me!” Never again…
“Okay! Okay, I won’t touch you. But we have to get you out of here!”
“Why can’t you just stop?” Joseph felt tears in his eyes now. “I don’t want to do this again! I won’t fall for this again! Just leave me alone!”
“What… what are you talking about?”
“I know how this works Mobius, I haven’t forgotten!” Joseph now screamed at him. “You used this way too often to ever convince me again! Sebastian will never come to get me! Whatever you want from me, just say it! But stop pretending to be Sebastian!” He put up a stone and threw it right into the man’s face. It left a bloody mark.
“Joseph!”
“Don’t you dare speak my name with his voice!” He threw another stone but this time the guy ducked.
“Joseph, listen to me!”
“I’LL KILL YOU!” Joseph could feel nothing but rage. Why did they have to do this over and over again? Playing with his hopes and desires? Always pretending to be Sebastian when they wanted him to do something and then making fun of him for really thinking his partner would come back…
“Joseph! It’s really me!”, the guy shouted while ducking under all the stones Joseph threw. “I came back into STEM because Kidman helped me! I’m here to find my daughter!”
Joseph stopped. “Lily…”
“Do you know where she is?!”
“Everywhere. And nowhere to be found.” Joseph had to laugh. “That’s a good move… yeah, you would have come back for your daughter.” Now tears were dropping from his eyes. “If you are real then please find my body… and kill it.”
“What?!” Sebastian was with him in seconds and held his shoulders. “I won’t kill you, listen to me! We will go home. Together.”
Joseph couldn’t stop crying anymore. “I can’t leave. I’m connected. My body can’t survive without STEM.” He hated himself for slowly falling for the trick again, actually believing this man to be Sebastian.
“Are you sure?”
“I can’t stay awake for long. Being outside is nothing but pain. Being inside is nothing but pain. I just want to die… but I can’t. I can’t die in STEM. Stefano killed me so many times… and yet I’m still here.”
“Fuck…” Sebastian hugged him again and Joseph closed his eyes, enjoying this moment. It felt good to be held like this. No fear of getting stabbed in the back for wanting to much affection. No fear of being turned into art again. Just a simple warm hug.
As Sebastian let go of him Joseph immediately pushed him back on him, not wanting to already end it.
“Joseph… we need to go. There’s this psycho guy… and this monsters everywhere…”
“Don’t worry. They won’t hurt me. I’ll protect you.” Joseph closed his eyes. “Just let me dream for a few minutes.”
“Joseph… there’s a huge monster right behind you.” He felt Sebastian’s heart beating faster.
“I already said that you don’t have to worry.” Joseph looked up. “Why can’t you just notice me for once?” New tears were dripping down his cheeks.
“Joseph… it’s coming closer…”
Joseph sighed and turned around. Obscura was standing there, focusing them with her camera eye.
“Leave.”, Joseph said. With a slow blink of her camera lens Obscura turned around and left.
“Why… why does this thing listen to you?”, Sebastian asked, taking a step back.
“Now it’s you who doesn’t trust me, huh?” Joseph looked down. “Too bad. I just wanted a hug.”
“I… I just need to know why…”
“Why?” Joseph looked at him. “Why I try to make the best out of my situation?”
“How? Are you… evil now?”
Joseph had to laugh hard on that. “There is no good and evil in Union. This is hell, Sebastian. You just have to arrange yourself to reduce the pain as much as you can.”
“You have an arrangement with that psycho?!”
“You could call it like that.”
“You said that he killed you many times!”
“He did.” Joseph felt tears in his eyes again. “But he also protected me. He… he can be nice sometimes. And he isn’t like Mobius. Mobius just wants to hurt me.”
“But he is hurting you, too!”
“What did you say there, ugly old man?!” Joseph’s blood froze as he heard Stefano’s voice behind him.
“Stop hurting Joseph!” Sebastian aimed a gun on Stefano’s head.
“Bring it on.” Stefano grinned and put out his knife.
“Stop it!” Joseph stepped between them. It was a dumb move and he knew it.
“So you’re cheating on me…”, Stefano growled, coming way too close.
“No!” Joseph shook his head. “He isn’t here for me, just for his daughter!”
“I’m not dumb. Mobius doesn’t use this guy all the time because of nothing! You love him. You love him more than you love me!”
“No! No, that’s not true!” Joseph felt tears in his eyes again. Was that Mobius’ plan? To separate him from the only one left?
“It is true and you know it!” Stefano slapped his face.
“Please, please, please!” Joseph begged on his knees, desperate not to lose him. “I love you! You know that I love you!”
“You don’t love me, you just don’t want to be alone!” Stefano kicked his face. It crooked his glasses.
“I love you.” Joseph crawled onto his shirt. “I love you!”
“You’re such a wretched creature…” Stefano spit on him. “You don’t deserve to be my art.”
“Please…”
“Don’t ever come back to me! We’re done!” Stefano turned around and just left. Joseph couldn’t stop sobbing. That romantic dinner he secretly hoped for… it would never come. He had to throw up and spit mostly blood on the floor.
“Joseph…” He felt Sebastian’s hand on his back.
“Are you happy now…?” Joseph sniffed and wiped over his mouth. “You took the last thing I had.”
“You…. You actually love this guy?”
“I don’t know!” Joseph sobbed in tears, finally looking at him. “I love how he was there for me. How he treated me like I was something special. How he gave me compliments. How he protected me from Mobius. How he allowed me to hold him sometimes… yes, I do love him! In this crazy, fucked up world he was the only one who cared for me!”
“You deserve better than that.”
“There is no better than that!” Joseph screamed at him. “I have been alone for my whole life! If I have to life in this hell, I at least don’t want to do it alone! Now it’s over… he will never invite me for dinner again! The only thing I dared to hope for…”
“Joseph…” Sebastian hugged him again and Joseph just cried on his chest. “I didn’t want to ruin this for you… but you do understand that this isn’t a healthy relationship?”
“It’s not like I have many choices here.” Joseph looked up at him. “I can’t protect you anymore. Leave now.”
“I won’t leave you behind.” Sebastian took his hand. “Not again.”
“You can’t save me. So at least save your daughter, yes?” Joseph forced himself to a sad smile.
“At first I need to know something.” Sebastian placed one hand on his cheek. Joseph noticed that it was bandaged. “Is he right? Do you love me?”
“I love you.” It felt so good to finally say it. To at least put this weight from his chest.
“That’s all I needed to know. I’m going to get you out of here, you hear me? I don’t care how hard it will be. And once we’re out I’ll invite you for dinner.”
“Seb…” Joseph felt even more tears dripping down his cheeks.
“It’s a promise, Joseph. Listen to me? I’m going to cook for you. Put some candles on the table. Hold your hand the whole evening…”
“Stop it.” Joseph moved away from him. “I knew you were Mobius.”
“I’m not Mobius, Joseph. I just want to make you happy.”
Joseph buried his head in his hands. “What have I done to deserve this? I always tried to be a good person. I just wanted to be loved. Why is that such a crime? Why do you punish me like that?”
“I’m not punishing you.” Sebastian hugged him again. “I’ll set you free. I’ll free both you and Lily and then we…”
“Stop it!” Joseph moved away from him again, breathing hard. “If you really want to help me then you’ll have to kill me. There is no other way.”
“There has to be.”
“Look at me!” Joseph stripped all of his clothes away, allowing Sebastian to look at his oppressed body. Almost every inch of it was covered with punctures, penetrated with not only needles from syringes but also wires, hoses and other devices.
“Joseph…” He could see a few tears in Sebastian’s eyes.
“Please… I just want this to end.” Joseph lowered his head. “Even if you’d manage to put me off all devices without killing me… I wouldn’t be able to do anything. My body is too weak. I don’t know if I would be able to speak or recognize something. So please… set me free.”
Sebastian nodded in tears. “I’ll… make it quick for you.”
“Thank you.” Joseph smiled a little, taking his hand again. “I know it’s much to ask for.”
“I don’t want you to suffer.” Sebastian hugged him tight. “But it’s hard losing you again after I just found you.”
“At least you did find me. And in any other life I’d come with you, waiting for you to fulfill your promise.”
Sebastian grabbed his face with both hands and kissed him. Joseph twitched in surprise and then closed his eyes. A kiss from Sebastian. One thing he never dared to hope for. And now it was happening. So sweet, so gentle, so loving. He never wanted it to stop. Wanted to stay like this for all eternity. But of course it wasn’t possible.
Sebastian slowly separated from him. Joseph turned away so that he couldn’t see his deep blush and put his clothes back on. Then he turned back to Sebastian and smiled at him.
“Ready for our last case, detective?”

The Mobius Mauler (ゴッドモードアーク(Goddomodoaku)) (God-mode Arc)
After a couple of hours of driving, they finally made it. Edwin's Escapades. It was a welcoming beacon for all kinds of people. Monsters, humans, everyone, everything. Monsters flooded this place with business, and the amusement park was able to be bigger, better, and even monster accommodating. "Dude." Undyne started. "It's even cooler than I thought! Come on! I got roller coasters to ride!" "Race you there!" Chara challenged, feeling unusually determined. "Hey, Alphys, ya coming, babe?" "Oh! Uhh, n-no th-no thank you. I think I'm f-f-fine on the ground." Stuttered Alphys. "Cool with me. Hey Papyrus, come with us! This is gonna be awesome!" "Really?" Said Papyrus. Then he craned his head to look at the attraction, and squealed with glee. "That's what the humans call a 'roller coaster'? Well then, I, the great Papyrus, shall see for myself why they like this roller coaster!" Papyrus sped off to join Chara and Undyne. After that initial glamour showed itself, everyone else calmly headed toward the ticket booth. "Come on, mom and dad! Hurry up!" Chara begged. "Chara, there's no need to rush, sweetie. Now here's yo-" "Thanks, daddy!" Chara cut in, swiping her and Undyne's ticket before Asgore could even hand them to her. They all got to the ticket booth after that. "Okay, so 10 people, a-wait a minute. Little buddy? Is that you?" Asked a familiar voice. "Hold on. What do you mean 'little buddy'?" Replied Frisk, clearly self-conscious about his height. "I don't think I-" Then he stopped and got a good look at the figure. "Burgerpants?" "Huh! So it really is you!" Burgerpants warmly greeted. "Hey little buddy, what's up? Haven't seen you since you were just a kid. Guess you did a little growing." "Yeah, I did. I'm fine. How has the surface been treating you though?" "Honesty, not crazy different from being in the underground. In fact, I just got this new gig last month. At least they pay better and give me benefits. And they treat me better, too." "Right, okay, you're happier now. Good for you. Now can we finally go inside please?!" Chara rushed, eager to ride to her heart's content. "Yeesh! Okay. Fine. Give me your ticket, and y-" "Thank you!" Chara slapped the ticket into Burgerpants' hands, and peeled out. Undyne and Papyrus gave him their tickets more calmly, and ran after Chara. All 3 of them raced to get to the roller coaster first. The rest followed suit, and walked inside the park. It's true, the park was big, filled with games and attractions as far as the eye could see. It was also packed with people roaming about, taking in the sights, gasping in awe for the park's greatest attraction of all made even greater thanks to the help of monsters: the Mobius Mauler. This is what Chara wanted to be on, Frisk thought to himself. The ride itself towered over the rest of the park, scaling no less than 200 feet into the air, stood proud by the conglomeration of magic and concrete, a near-perfect unity of both monster and human ingenuity. All Frisk could do was gaze in complete shock and awe, mouthing to himself 'wow'. " Hey, Frisk! Stop staring, and watch where you're going!" Asriel blared, snapping Frisk out of his stupor. He was just in time; he almost waltzed right into one of the support beams. "Frisk, you wanna ride too, don't cha?" Said Sans. Frisk only nodded in excitement with a wide smile on his face. "Cool. If you or Paps need me, I'll MOBEIN (mobian) the arcade." "Wow. Just wow, Sans." Frisk wasn't caring for Sans' puns at the moment. He simply turned around, and then smacked into a line for the very same attraction he was gawking at. "Hmm? Oh, it's just you, Frisk." Asgore calmly reacted. "Must be exciting to try it out, eh?" "Uhh...yes! Yes, it's uhh...really something, huh?" After darting his eyes around, he tried to shrug off the awkwardness by breaking the silence between him and the king. "So...how long is this line really? Bet you can probably see up to the front, huh?" "Well now, I wouldn't say that." Asgore started to boast. "But it is true. I can see up to the front. Must be a very popular ride to have this many people clamoring for a spot. You might actually not be able to get on at all." "Yes, it would be a shame if you didn't get to ride." Toriel cut in. "But if you do manage to get on the ride, then I guess it would be a good thing you did not eat anything before we left. Because if I made you something, it would probably be a SHORT STACK." Frisk just glared at the terrible joke that was just made after having to endure one of Sans' puns while Toriel utters a quiet chuckle. "It is okay, my child. Even if they do not let you on, we shall return back to you." "Yeah. I guess you will." Frisk decided to wait out the line. For 40 minutes, his excruciating wait-time was rewarded. "Alright, finally! I get to see why Chara like this thing!" Frisk exclaimed, being able to ride the attraction after all. "Yep! You get a first-class seat to the ride of a lifetime!" Chara placcidly said while sitting down next to him. "Really, Chara? You're riding this thing again?" "Yeah! This ride is the fucking bomb!" "Oh God. Please Chara. Don't puke on me." As the ride lifted itself up to the peak, Frisk started sweating in anxiety, and Chara quietly squealed "This is gonna be the shit" in anticipation. Then came the trip back down. The roller coaster screamed back down the tracks, sailing through loops, peeling out of the curves, rocketing to the edge, and barreling back to the heart, where it took another ascent, up to a dizzying 275 feet in height! After reaching its highest crescendo, it dive-bombed back down to the world below, but not before revealing its truth to its name. It crashed through 3 Mobius strips, and then it smashed back down to the surface, slowing down bit by bit in the meantime. Finally, the Mobius Mauler stopped and sat at the apex of its center, resting until more come to beseech its presence. "Wow! That...was...AMAZING!! I've never felt so alive! I don't even care how high up we were! You and Undyne feel like this all the time?!" "Pretty much. Well, for Undyne, I'm sure. Me? Not so much." Chara said, fully satisfied from the adrenaline that coursed through her veins. "Then why did you go on the first time?" "I wanted to see if I liked it. AND I DO!" For the rest of the day, the group went on the enjoy the park's many festivities and "cuisine", and they even acquired some souvenirs to remember the park by. Later, they all got to the car. It was 5:52pm. A day well spent. They were all satisfied from the great day they had. As they all drove back home, they all reminisced on the park in its entirety, none of them more so than Chara Dreemurr herself. She spoke about the food, the rides, everything. She felt like a child. Eventually, they all finally got back to their homes. Asriel had his arms filled, almost overflowing, with souvenirs, trinkets and prizes. Chara had at least 15 chocolate bars on her person. They wouldn't last the night. Frisk, however, carried nothing. Absolutely nothing. Why would I need to? It was my birthday, right? That's what his mind was saying to him. After they all bid each other a good night's sleep, Frisk got upstairs and got ready for bed. For the first time ever, he felt a small surge of pain in his head for only a few seconds. He thought it was weird at first, but he dismissed it as simply a coincidence. It proved nothing, or at least that's what he thought. He felt a sharper pain in his head again, for only an instant, as he lied down in bed. That twinge doesn't matter right now. That's the lie his mind bought. Eventually, after getting more and more ready to enter a dream-time state, he got comfortable and closed his eyes. Hush. All nature sleeps.

⛔️ This Chapter is pretty violent. *Torture/Canon Typical Violence/ Big Battle
Tumblr media
Small Time Witch (30)
Battle preparations were in full swing. Most of the realms armies were to be positioned on the battlefield as frontline forces. Skrýmir the giant from Utgard would lead his armies along with Aesir forces. You warned them of the dog like creatures that came in hoards. At times they were absolutely overwhelming. For that, Thor and Ororo would flank the battlefield to take out as many as possible. You were able to reach Carol Danvers who will be accompanied by the Skrull. On the back end, the Vanir and your coven would maintain a protection spell that would debilitate some of the more simple minded soldiers in Thanos’ army and to shield from air strikes. The Avengers would be on the field as promised to help with the Black Order. The plan was falling in to place. You had the numbers. The problem was radio silence from Thanos.
You exhausted all avenues in the universe to find out his plan. Even Mobius hadn’t heard so much as a rumble from him. No one had disappeared mysteriously from Vanaheim. Nothing really changed except for one thing. Loki’s memories of his time with you were restored. He was a hybrid version of your Loki. Mobius told you he wasn’t the leak. You wanted to believe him but now you were deeply doubtful. You decided to confront him but you had to be as gentle as possible.
You took dinner in your chambers that night. You were noticeably quiet. “Pet, something on your mind?”
“If I say no will you believe me?” He shot you a look that told you he did not in fact believe you. “I have to ask you something. You’re going to be angry with me. We’ll fight about it.”
“Now I’m nervous.”
You sighed heavily, “You should be. Loki, before I healed you, were you still informing to Thanos?”
He looked away from you ashamed, “Yes. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” He cowered at your touch. Did he think you would hurt him? He was afraid of you.
“Loki, look at me. I’m not mad. Loki, look at me.” You could see he was shaking. You stood up from the table and knelt in front of him, “Can he still hear you?” He nodded yes. “Can he hear me?” He nodded no. “Good. I’m going to free you, my love. But first I need you to do something for me. Go get him. Bring him to me.” You kissed his hands and didn’t say anything else. You finished your meal in silence. He could feel how angry you were.
You didn’t believe that Thanos couldn’t hear you or see you when you were in Loki’s presence so you opted not to speak about your plans any longer. Before you went to sleep you rested on his chest and held him tight. He was asleep. You stroked the fine dusting of hair on his belly and said aloud, “I’m going to rip you apart for this.”
——————————————————————
The next morning you were minding your p’s and q’s around Loki. When you had a strategy meeting with the Avengers and X-men you didn’t tell him. When you met with the coven you didn’t say a word. You made Thor promise to watch his mouth and not argue because obviously the man was in pain. You were the general of this army today. Anything that needed to be said to Loki needed to cross your ears first.
Your Avengers meeting was interesting. You knew so much about them and it made you giggle to yourself. Steve was not as soft as when you met him. He mostly looked lost. You wanted to just hug him tight but you knew that would be wildly inappropriate. You decided, to hasten your actual mission, to split up the team. You had a feeling Thanos would split the Black Order to do as much damage as possible. Steve and Nat would join the Warriors, Lady Sif and Heimdall on the Bifrost. Odin would command the rest of his troops from Asgard.
That evening everyone gathered for a feast. One of many feasts before battle. You found your way over to the Avengers table to hang with Thor.
“Princess, have a seat.” Steve pulled out a chair for you and you laughed out loud. You couldn’t tell him why.
“Why thank you, kind sir. I’m sure you’re accommodations are much nicer than an army encampment.”
He laughed, “Oh by far. So you’re from Earth? How did you get involved with and marry a Prince from Asgard?”
“Oh, honey. It is a long story. Another time maybe.”
“Of course. You wear the title well, Princess.”
“Thank you, Captain.” You winked at him and freshened his drink. “Enjoy your evening.”
You made your rounds saying good night. Promising to make good on invitations to visit realms. You finally made it over to the table with Odin, Frigga, your mother and aunts. “I’m going to get Loki prepared.” Frigga looked worried.
“Oh please don’t make that face, Allmother. I feel guilty enough as it is.”
“I just want him to come home safely.” she wiped tears from her cheeks.
“It’s what we all want.” You kissed them all goodnight and asked your mother to sit with Frigga for a while. Odin asked to walk you to your chambers.
“I’m sure I’m quite capable of walking myself, sire.”
“Give an old man the pleasure of seeing his daughter off to bed. Y/N, I’m curious. Has anyone asked why Thanos is trying to destroy the universe?”
You snorted (such a princess), “Does it matter?”
“It’s always good to know what drives an opponent. For instance, love can make people do irrational things. Your meticulous plans are laid before you and something can make any seasoned general snap and the whole thing goes up in flames.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
“Thanos is known as the Mad Titan not the Kind Titan. I’ll be shocked if Loki comes back alive. Whatever you see, what ever he does to Loki, you mustn’t waiver. You must stay composed and trust your plan. Do you understand? There will be time enough to mourn our losses.”
“I hope I have half the nerve that you do in the face of such evil.”
“I have to tell myself the same speech. He’s my son. I would move mountains to protect him. We have to hold steady. Sleep well.” He kissed you on the cheek and went to rejoin the party.
When you entered your chambers Loki was sitting in front of the fire. “Did you have a nice time?”
“I did. I missed you.”
“And I you. I’m ready to go.”
“Lok, why is he doing this? Why does he want to destroy so many lives?”
He smiled to himself, “For love. His mother and father were Eternals. They were terribly beautiful. When Thanos was born, he was not beautiful like his parents so his mother tried to kill him. She failed but ultimately treated him as though he were a ghost. He tortured her until she perished. He just wanted to be loved and accepted. Sound familiar? And then he fell in love with actual Death. Not Hela. This being is death and one of the creators of the stones. She has rebuked him. Denied his advances. So, this is his love letter to her.”
The parallels were obvious. The two of them understand each other on a very deep level. “But you see, darling, Thanos is jealous of me because I have my goddess. He will see our union destroyed.”
“Not a chance.” You pressed your forehead to his and slipped your bracelet on his wrist. With the tiny golden screwdriver you closed it tight. “For luck.”
He kissed you deeply and deeper than any kiss you’ve ever shared. “I love you.” Before you had a chance to say it back he slipped through the portal you opened.

Thanos sat on his throne watching his daughters argue when Loki returned.
“Ah Loki. I thought you scurried away to the far reaches of the galaxy like the rat you are. What have you brought me?”
“She is alone on Vanaheim. Waiting for you.”
He laughed and looked at Nebula, “Tell me , daughter, do I look stupid?”
“No, father.”
“Do we believe the god of lies?”
“No, father.”
“Should we kill him?”
“No, father. We should torture him and drop him at his wife’s feet.”
Thanos laughed again as he rose from his throne. He grabbed Loki by the neck and brought him close, “You are lucky my daughter is merciful. Gamora!”
“Yes, father!” Gamora rushed to his side.
“Take the god to the dungeons. You and Nebula play nice.”
She cuffed him and stabbed in the side then dragged him behind her. “Please listen to me. He’s going to wipe out half the universe.” Loki croaked and groaned.
“Shut up! You lie!”
“No, I don’t. I can prove it.”
She dropped him on the ground at her feet, “Can you?”
“Sister, don’t listen to him. He is the god of lies.” Nebula grabbed his bonds to continue to the dungeon.
Gamora knelt down in front of him, “Prove it.”
Loki touched her forehead and shared with her the vision of the reality you escaped. He destroyed everything just like her own planet. She could not let that happen again. She also couldn’t betray her father. “It doesn’t matter. No one will ever beat him.” She grabbed him by the hair and took him to the dungeon where Corvus Glaive was waiting.
Gamora hung him to the wall using his bonds. Corvus pulled out his knife and dragged it up Loki’s chest. He used the blade to cut the straps of his armor. He stuck him between his ribs. Loki’s lung collapsed. He was unable to take deep breaths with his hands above his head. He would pass out soon.
