am i enough to lure him in?
can i be the siren you see as a lost sailor at sea?
i’ll make you need me. i’ll rip your heart out and make you fall apart
i see the shallow sands of a man
and i call his name till he follows in
till he’s far from land, far from his men
and when he sees the monster i am, it’ll be too late, for he knows his inevitable fate.

Note
Oh, how I long for you every day,
Wish that I might, that I may,
Hold you, simply hold you through the night,
Kiss away the terrors when you you become still with fright,
And care for you, and be cared for in return,
Those night I will remember when, for enternity, I burn,
Simply for the sin of wishing to hold,
But those night will be worth the soul I sold.
This is absolutely beautiful! I honestly didn't expect anyone to do it and I have no idea who did it but this made my day. If you reveal yourself in the comments I'd love to give you credit!

You Said Forever and I Believed You
Imagine a flower
A field of grass with one lonely flower
It blooms and is beautiful
But it never has anyone to share it with but the sun
But the Sun has other flowers to admire
The flower begins to wilt and there in the dirt
Comes up a seed to a sprout to a sapling
And eventually to a blooming flower
The flowers are content
They laugh
They smile
They cry
They wilt
We were friends through thick and thin
I followed you and loved you with a ferocity like no other
You loved me
But not the same
You told me forever
And I believed it
They came along and stole you away
They came and you left me for something "better"
For someone "your age"
They hurt you and here I was
I hugged you and said you didn't deserve it
When I didn't deserve it either
Then everything was okay
Then a different they came
They came and you fell
They came and you fell hard
You wouldn't stop talking for days
Any word I said quickly drowned away by more obsession
So I shut up
And you didn't even
Care
Notice
I was nothing
You made me feel like nothing
I was second place after a decade of friendship
I was second place after the tears and stories
The secrets I harbor close to my chest are poison
I know everything but my loyalty groomed from such a young age
Won't allow me to deny them
I can't leave you so I'm waiting for you to leave
As you inevitably do
It is my destiny to be left behind
Abandoned
It is my fate to care
It is my fate to not be cared about
This flower is wilting
This flower is dying
And you can't even see it from your looming petals
You block the sun from seeing me
I can't grow beyond you
Unless you leave
Leave me
You promised Forever
And I believed it
But I can't last Forever

love is rising
rivers are flowing
sun is setting,
come in to the dark with me.
don’t resist me
feel it all
follow the call
the beats of our hearts
the defeats of our past screaming
but we ignore them
to look ahead
for better days
for better ways to live and love
to find the clouds and rise above.

[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled "immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”

I enjoy the colors of the world
But not the vibrant reds and blues that come to mind
Not the sheer pearly whites and abyss swallowing blacks
Not even the brightest orange of the sunset
Nor the greens of summer and pinks of tulips fresh in bloom
The colors I enjoy are hidden
The dullest Grey of a cloudy sky
And the saddened blue that follows it
The crimson and vermillion of the dying embers in a forest fire long dead
The crying yellow of the leaves as they fall
The brittle brown that decays every living thing
But I especially love the dark violets that decorate the clouds as night rolls to take its throne in the sky
I like the dark sea navy that holds the secrets no one dares find the key to
The rotten wood in the forest as fog like cashmere rolls over
These are the colors I love
These are the colors of poetry
The hidden details only us writers of the divine can see
Underneath it all we see them
We see you
And we love you
