Introduction post!

Hi! I’m Amalia, you can call me Amal. I’ve already taken a look at studyblr community at around a year and now I’m making a new blog to create my own studyblr.

I live in Indonesia

I’m 20 years young

I study in the Faculty of Nursing (3rd year)

interests:

I love kpop, kdrama, and kshow

currently, I’m really into crafting stuff, especially making flowers from paper

I’m in love with painting and other artsy stuff too ❤ 

watching mukbang and asmr (I know some people maybe feeling disgusted but I find it’s really pleasurable)

why a studyblr?

First thing first, I love being around in this community. I want to stay motivated to study and of course, I want to share my academic journey and maybe a little bit about my life :)

14. Dealing with test anxiety

We've all been there. Tests are coming and you don't know what to do. You feel lightheaded as the blank paper approaches and when you see the words in it you blackout - well not exactly as that but you get the idea.

So yeah my tips...I'm still fighting with this anxiety but there's some things that make me feel better.

1. Study beforehand not only the day before.

2. Don't drink caffeine.

3. Don't eat sweets. (I once read that sugar messes up your memory or something like it and I stand by it)

4. Be sure to take doubles. Two pencils,two pens,two eraser,two calculators if you can!

5. Remember that you can bluff your way out. Mostly it will give you half points so keep that in mind.

6.... If that all fails. I do have a small tip for college students. If you have the age for drinking, you can have a small cup before the exam. Don't go wasted to your exam! Just enough so you feel kind of lightheaded. This is specially good if you have studied a lot but are still nervous. Again do it only if you have the age!

Remember an exam is only to test how much you know or how much you actually remember it. It does not define you.

Things I did this last “week” (or month, who knows anymore): painted this nice painting, baked Vietnamese honeycomb cake, spent 5 hours doing homework bc we had to use python to code something and that was my first ever time coding LOl, and reevaluating my existence for my personal statements

hello everyone, my name’s connor and i’m a second year in pharmaceutical science. i started this studyblr up a short while ago but have only used it for reblogging up until this point. i'd like to start posting some of my own content, hopefully to motivate me as i start this year of uni.

i love learning instruments; i used to play violin, i’m self-teaching piano and i just booked my first drum lesson (very excited!!)

THE INTRO

Hello everyone! New studyblr here. I’ve been lurking in the shadows of the studyblr community for a very long time now. But it is not until recently that I finally mustered enough courage to join this amazing community. So without further ado, here is my introduction:

Basics:

I go by Audrey (she/her pronouns)

(Almost) 20 and Aries, but don’t really feel like either

INFP, though some people have told me that I could be quite cynical

I’m in my second year in university

I’m a Biochemistry major, wanting to live in a lab forever (ooh look it rhymes!)

I’m currently on an internship but still trying to learn some basic French in my free time

Interests:

Absolutely love reading: I have an undying love for poetry, no matter the type. Currently, I’m trying to finish  “New American Best Friend” by Olivia Gatwood.

Fancy (sounding) words: yup pretentious I know, but something about them is so addicting to me. I only speak 2 languages so far and always find myself drawn to words that are on the more grandiose side of both languages I’m so sorry please bear with me 

Psychology, and the biology aspects of it: I’m currently trying to learn more about serotonin syndrome and the portrayal of psychiatric medications books/movies for young adults.

A cinephile (fancy word count no.1): I love movies/ series as well as video essays analyzing cinematography, scriptwriting, and characters. Recently, I’ve been binging Euphoria (pure perfection!) and Fruit Basket (this anime turns me into a crying mess every time).

A melophile as well (fwc no.2): I listen to almost anything and am always eager to discover new music. But no matter what, I will always have a soft spot for the pop-punk bands I grew up with. I also enjoy making playlists for different moods, learning about people through their music (here’s my Spotify if you’re up for sharing music), and watching analysis videos on the anatomy of songs

I think I just love analysis videos in general?

Creating artsy stuff (sketches, music, poems, etc): aka my coping mechanisms. I probably enjoy writing the most but somehow the majority of my works are sadly unfinished.

Coding: I’m self-taught so I ain’t that good. But personally, I find it really fun and would love to learn and challenge myself more with it.

Goals:

To motivate myself out of the procrastination quicksand

To keep track of my study and productivity progress 

To have a place to review/ modify my study techniques and habits and better my efficiency

To be more involved in this lovely studyblr community and hopefully motivate others too

To make more friends, through studying as well as music

About me 

hey! I’m rida, I’m 16 and a junior in school. I have no idea what I want to do in the future but I’m leaning towards comp sci or something bio or chem related (dare I say?? I am considering dental? or med??) 

Classes I’m taking this year:

Spanish 4, Physics, AP Gov/Econ, Mobile App Development, Anatomy, AP Calc AB, AP Lang

Interests

graphic design, reading (just don’t ask me how many books I read this year though), drawing (although id hardly call myself experienced), anime (mp100 and furuba are my favorites rn)

Why did I make a studyblr? 

This year I think I’ve been more unmotivated than I ever have before and I really wanted to change that. I’ve always knew this community existed but I figured joining it would really make me more excited about doing work and it would help me develop better study habits. Plus this seems like a community with a lot of really nice people and resources! (Mayhaps,,,I’ll get some study mutuals?)

Languages spoken: native English and Cantonese speaker, fluent in Mandarin and somewhere along the varying levels of intermediacy in French, Japanese, and Korean. I harbour a deep love for languages so I’m also learning a bunch of other ones with a focus on Southeast Asian languages.

Nationality: New Zealand / Hong Kong

Favourite season: Winter, mainly for festivities and fashion

Favourite flower: Lotus, for its elegance and significance in Asian culture

Favourite scent: The smell of shampoo and body wash when hugging or cuddling someone who just showered.

Favourite colour: Black, but if you’re the type to say that it’s not a real colour, then it’d be red

Favourite animal: It changes all the time, and it’s like choosing a favourite child so I’ll have to pass on answering this.

Favourite fictional character: Currently, it would be Villanelle from Killing Eve.

Average sleep duration: I tried tracking it before but it was so irregular I gave up.

Dream trip: I’d like to travel around East and Southeast Asia (except China and North Korea) with my sketchbook. I want to experience all these intricately different cultures and I want to feel prouder of my identity as an Asian.

Why I established this blog: I’ve had studyblrs before but I always end up not updating and deleting them. I want to make this a last fresh start.

Random fact: I did cross country for a term back in Sixth Form because I thought it was just running in nature... I was wrong but it was a rewarding experience.

- i’m a first year english major and a hopeful film minor (plus one more minor or two more if i can manage it)
