You never know what you might get from me. I like a bit of everything and geek out in multiple ways. If I'm not writing, I'm crocheting. Or painting. Or sculpting clay. Proud Hufflepuff (although, patience is far from my virtue!). Australian born and bred. Deadpool is my spirit animal. I'm also funnier in Enochian.
Clint Barton hasn't always been the best at reading signals. Or flirting. Or knowing when his ego is appropriately inflated and when it's totally uncalled for. There are plenty of women in his life; some he loves, some he barely knows, and some he would call family. But at the end of the day, there's only one that he falls in love with so wholly, he would sign over the deed to his heart so she could care for it in ways he once believed he didn't deserve.
Occasionally, I attempt art. Today was a lesson in simply committing and not overthinking the brush strokes, nor regretting them once they kissed the canvas. Free-handing without sketching out a basic outline is not something I'm particularly comfortable with, but I am incredibly pleased with the result. A little practise and I might one day successfully paint an animal that is more realism than cartoon, but for now, I'm simply relieved that it is, in fact, identifiable.988
Time, inspiration, and motivation: aka The Magical Time
Just finished creating something
I’ve been creating for 12 hours straight and forgot that I needed basic things like food and sleep
I haven’t had time, motivation, or inspiration in ages and am starting to feel like a fraud
Someone just complimented something I made and I’m on top of the world
Someone just insulted something I made and I’m going to cry
Someone just insulted something I made and I’m going to make more of that exact content in order to spite them
I’m looking over old projects I started and never finished, telling myself I’ll pick them up again one day even though I probably won’t
I can’t wait to show my friends what I made
I’m never showing anyone what I made
I’m going to start this project as soon as I finish eating. I’m going to start this project as soon as I catch up on sleep. I’m going to start this project as soon as I eat breakfast. I’m going to start this project-
I thought I already started this project
I know I already started this project, but I can’t find it, so maybe I should just start over
Someone asked me for specifics on what I do (what genre I like to write, what kind of things I like to paint, etc.) and I forgot everything I’ve ever made
Recently started dating someone new. On our third date, in the car on the ride home after a successful escape from the Jumanji themed escape room we'd just completed, I mentioned I was on Tumblr. I don't remember why. I don't remember what we'd been talking about to elicit this confession from me.
This confession, however, led to a half hour long conversation about the existence of dinosaur porn.
Instead of deciding I was too weird for him when it was myself who revealed this was a thing, my date rolled with it, and began listing possible titles. We have come to an agreement that he shall receive 10% of the advance, a further 10% of all sales in royalties, and a voice acting role in the audio book.
Not quite finished work in progress. What started as a study in basic anatomy and posturing, turned into a much bigger project. I love this human disaster, and this panel from the Matt Fraction and David Aja run of Hawkeye (2012) is one of my favourites.
The colouring is my own; a perfect opportunity to experiment with some textures and background design.
I've been avoiding his face because I have no idea how to do it when I'm aiming for something more in my own style...so that (plus some finer details in the background) will be the goal this weekend.
