You and Zhongli rarely fall out. To be more exact, you rarely fall out over anything serious. And even when you do, screaming matches and insults are never thrown about, and today is no exception. The problem is that sometimes, quiet, rational words don't do enough to show how you feel, and you wish you could have a good old scream at a wall, just to get rid of the tension. You love Zhongli, you truly do. But he can be really out of touch with you sometimes.

"I really don't like it when you intervene when I'm fighting." you say to him, after a silent journey home. You prefer discussing things at home than out where everyone can hear you. It's probably why you like living in the mountains so much.

"I know.” Zhongli sighs. He'd moved by instinct, driven by his desire to keep you safe. He has to manually override the urges he's gotten used to condoning as an archon, and he tries his best for your sake. Either way, he doesn't want you to think he's making excuses for himself, so he tries to word things carefully. "I should have made more of an effort to respect your wishes."

You nod. "Sometimes it makes me feel like you don't think I'm capable."

"I don't think that. Not at all. I like protecting you because I know it's a luxury, and it’s something you’re more than capable of doing yourself. But I understand." Zhongli says softly. You nod, thankful for his ever-reasonable response, and scold yourself for getting so frustrated. He was only trying to keep you safe, but it felt like he was undermining years of your experience. "I shall think of a compromise so this doesn't happen again."

Zhongli always gets formal when it comes to disagreements. He's driven towards an end solution, to the point when you sometimes have to tell him that you want to feel a little bit sad. Bottling up the emotions doesn't make you feel all too great, especially when it's because you feel unreasonable. "Can we talk about that tomorrow, please?"

He looks at you, sensing that today is one of those days when you want to be upset for a little while. He nods. He'll oblige you for a while longer, but he won't let you go to sleep angry at him. Just as you never let him sleep angry at you. He wonders whether you know you do it, how you always make sure he's okay after an argument, or whether it's a habit burned into your sheer being. He doesn't care. He loves it anyway.

But he also senses that this has been brewing for a little while. There was two weeks ago, when a Fatui skirmisher was about to hit your blind spot and he shielded you. Your complaint on that front was quick surface level—you admitted that you forgot to cover your blind spot. And then there was the week after that when you were in a domain, and he panicked yet again, generating a pillar directly in your line of sight. You'd taken a while to calm down from that one. And finally today. You were going to go out on your own for some practice, but Zhongli couldn't bear the thought of you getting injured, especially against Sumerian enemies you had no experience with. He promised he would only intervene when you told him to, but once again, he panicked and petrified all the enemies in a mile radius.

You understand that he's protective of you, but archons, he can be a little suffocating sometimes.

"I'm going to clean up and get changed," you say to him. You know he'll hover downstairs for a little while and give you your space before joining you in bed. But today, you don't want to be so easily swayed. Maybe a night on the couch is in order.

You grab a light cover from the closet and make your way downstairs. You meet Zhongli halfway, who's in his archon form. You frown to yourself. Zhongli's archon form finds itself displayed to you on various occasions, some of them as domestic as wanting to change a lightbulb, but there are times when it has significance. Like him wanting to release himself of some tension. Is he beating himself up over this that badly?

"Where are you going?" He asks, eyes laced with confusion.

"I think I'm going to stay on the couch tonight. I'm going to think about some things."

Zhongli doesn't seem entirely pleased with that, but he doesn't dare tell you otherwise. He has to give you your space, he reminds himself.

"Alright," he says softly. "Sleep well." He omits the 'love' he usually adds at the end, for fear of making you feel obliged to follow him up the stairs. Your feelings are always his priority. He knew what he was getting into with you, and he refuses for his ignorance or inability to control his own instinct to ruin things.

"You too."

He goes into the room you share before deciding that, if you're not joining him, he'd rather not be painfully reminded of your absence, so he changes course and heads to a spare room with his change of clothes. Usually, he talks to you as you wash your face, or you braid his hair for him before you get too tired, but there are no such intimacies happening today. You've been upset with him for a grand total of three hours and he already misses you.

He quiets his thoughts and crawls into bed. Bad call. The bed in this room wasn't chosen with his eight-foot-tall form in mind. He'll either have to shift back and deal with the repercussions or spend the entire night with half of his body hanging off the bed.

You can't sleep either. You never realised how much you relied on Zhongli's calming effect on you to sleep so peacefully. It's almost embarrassing how much you rely on him, even after a year of being together, to the point when you miss him when he's in a room away from you. You decide that if Zhongli doesn't come downstairs in the next ten minutes, you'll go to him. There's really no point in dragging this on any further. Your need to be a little bit sad has blossomed into feelings of loneliness, and you can't take the extra pain.

"yn?" You sit up, glancing at the staircase. There stands Zhongli, his hair untied, his pyjamas rumpled as if he'd been tossing and turning all night. "May I talk to you?"

Always so formal, you think, before standing up and approaching him.

"I know I'm often overbearing when it comes to your safety," he says softly, taking your hands in his. “And I know it can be frustrating for you. But I promise I will do whatever it takes to restrain myself from inciting this sort of complaint from you again.”

You should be focusing on his words, but you're more distracted by the fact he's on his knees before you, looking up at you with such an earnest gaze.

"Please forgive me," he says, kissing your hand lightly. You slide your hands out of his, and into the hair between his horns. He smiles blissfully, glancing at you through relief-filled eyes. “I can’t bear to spend the night without you by my side.”

"I can't stay mad at you," you sigh. "You're forgiven. You can get off your knees now."

Zhongli chuckles, standing up and pulling you into a hug. "I have a feeling you're trying to hide how much pleasure you found in that."

You roll your eyes and lead him upstairs by his hand. "I'm not hiding anything."

"Fine then, remind me of what I said." Zhongli crosses his arms, and you ignore him, sitting him down on the bed so you can reach his hair. He thinks your ritual of braiding his hair is for his sake, but in reality, if you don't do it, you end up with half of it in your mouth in the night.

"No need to dwell on the past," you quip, leaning down to kiss his neck softly. "All is forgiven, remember?"

Cold fall rain pours on the tall buildings. Cars driving down the wet streets, you type out a document on your monitor the light illuminating the barely lit room, only a few lamps that cast a warm orange glow across the room keeping the atmosphere from being uncanny, you sip hot tea from the mug its calming aroma wafting through your senses providing warmth through your bones. Your boss works on the other side of a big burnt umber door with gold embellishments. He is currently meeting with Ningguang CEO of Jade Chamber Bank or JCB for short, you put the mug down and stretch your arms above your head looking over at the time 2:57 PM, eighteen minutes until the meeting is over then you can go home.

You sigh and finish your tea, standing from your chair letting your legs stretch and wake up for a moment, then walking towards the kitchen to wash your cup placing it on the drying rack. You hear Zhongli’s voice as he opens the door for Ningguang “When should we meet again for the finalizing?” She inquires “I would discuss that with my secretary she knows when I have a free day.” He hums peeking his head out the door to see if you’re there “Very well then, It was pleasant seeing you again Mr. Zhongli” You walk back into the room as Ningguang goes to leave “It was nice meeting you Ma’am have a good afternoon” you say nodding your head towards her, she sends you a smile “Nice meeting you as well secretary” she waves her hand back at you her gold heels clicking on the marble floors towards the door and walking into the hallway. You smile at the woman her confidence radiating wherever she goes, you go to head back to your desk but Zhongli’s silky voice stops you “Can you come in here for a moment?” “Yes sir” You Respond walking towards his office he holds the door open for you, and you walk over only for you to plop down in one of the comfy seats in front of his desk. He sits in his office chair his amber eyes focusing on you as he laces his fingers together and his elbows on his desk “I have a proposal for you” he hums “Oh? And that is?” You ask genuinely curious. “I need a companion of sorts” he looks away from you ‘Is he embarrassed?’ you wonder “What kind of companion?” tilting your head to the side and slightly raising a brow he takes in a deep breath “I need you to be my girlfriend” he admits his eyes meeting yours, you feel your face heat “Mr. Zhongli t-that's widely unprofessional” you look down at your palms “Wait before you assume” he puts a hand up “I simply need you to help me out for a few weeks, I need to stop relieve some stress” his voice remains steady “It’ll come with pay” his eyes making you nervous as you look at him “Can I have time to mull it over?” you ask looking at the clock on the wall 3:15 PM “Yes, please give me your answer as soon as possible so I can have time to prepare” he sighs. You agree and quickly slip out of his office pressing against the cold wood of the door. 

You sit back down at your desk, the rain pattering the only thing making noise. You try to get as much work done as possible but your mind is swimming, but you come up with your answer. You stand up and walk to his office door knocking on the wood “Come in” his smooth voice resonates, you step in and your ears perk up at the soft jazz he plays from his small speaker “I have made my decision.” “Oh?” He looks up his eyes gaze curiously at you “I have agreed.”

He grabs your hand his wide gloved palm and slender fingers warming your cold hand, he shifts the umbrella so it covers you more “Mr- I mean dear there is no reason to do that” his shoulder getting the blunt of water “It is quite fine love” His warm eyes stare at you “I- we can just go to my apartment it’s only two blocks away” You invite as Zhongli tightens his hold “Fine if you think that is best” you were originally going to dinner for publicity but it began pouring and you refuse to get sick any less Zhongli. You bring him to your apartment building, close the red umbrella, and walk into the elevator clicking your floor. The tan walls and black rails give Zhongli nostalgia like staying in a nice hotel out in Fontaine, he watches as you dig into your purse for your keys pulling them out of some hidden pocket “I wish they would just give us some damn pockets on our pants” he hears you groan making him chuckle under his breath, you send a playful glare his way zipping your purse back up. You stand in silence as the elevator finally approaches your floor opening the doors, “Ladies first” he hums placing his hand on your lower back noticing the reddening of your cheeks.

You stride into the hallway and find your door unlocking the door, and stepping in. Zhongli closes the door behind him taking off his shoes and placing his wallet and keys in the basket where you put yours “I’ll go find you a sweater, feel free to make yourself at home” you call as you walk further into your apartment, He looks around at the pictures hung on the wall, the nice but cluttered kitchen, the small dining table pushed up against the big window next to the balcony door, the living room with a few plants in the windows. You come back holding a black and beige sweater and a pair of black pants, you also now wear a fluffy hoodie with white pet hair on it and a pair of shorts also covered in pet hair  “Here this should fit you, oh let me hang that up to dry for you” You trade off the clothes and you disappear into your bathroom hanging it up in the closet where you dried your clothes and kept your towels “Alright bathroom is yours” you hum walking into the living room “Thank you” Zhongli walks past you as you pick up the clutter from the coffee table, he closes the door and undoes his tie and his undershirt hanging it up on a hanger next to his coat as well, he unfolds the sweater and pulls it on doing the same with the pants. He takes off his gloves and his hair tie and puts it in his coat pocket combing through his hair, he hears you turn off the weather channel to see when it’ll stop. He walks out “How is the weather looking?” he asks stepping up beside you and noticing a small white cat on your lap “It won’t stop raining until later tonight, I can drive you home if you’d like” you offer looking up at him, blushing slightly as you admire his long hair now free from that tight ponytail “Do you want me to go home?” he questions “No of course not, it’s just well, I- to be honest I hate being alone on rainy nights” you pet your cat as she purrs louder, Zhongli tilts your chin to look at him “Then I’ll stay” you nod “Well I don’t have much in my fridge, and we haven’t eaten yet. How about we order something?” You offer, and pick up your phone much to your cat's dislike “Sure, since our plans have been foiled, what do you suggest?” He hums “Pfft, you make this sound like we are plotting villains or something” You chuckle “But I do know this good Sumeru curry place that does take out” You pat the seat next to you for him to come sit. He smiles and does so, your cat surprising him by stretching and finding a place in his lap “What’s her name?” he asks scratching under her chin “Lettie it’s a character from Howl’s Moving Castle” you sigh stroking her long soft fur, he feels you lean against his arm “Here are the options you can get” Zhongli feels a warmth spread through his chest at the simple act he watches as you scroll through the menu recommending your favorites “How about this one?” He points to one that looks very good “I was thinking of that one too” you hum leaning your head on his shoulder, you call the restaurant and place your order with some butter and garlic naan on the side. 

You grab the remote “What should we watch?” you inquire “You pick, dear” he looks at your expression watching as your face pinkens at the nickname “Are you all right with Princess Bride?” Zhongli surprises himself as he lets out a laugh “I never thought you’d be into that kind of movie” he exhales in contentment Lettie’s tail moving in disruption you chuckle with him “I am gonna go grab a blanket I’ll be back” you stand up and go into your bedroom coming back with a fluffy weighted blanket you turn down the lights and turn on a lamp that casts a comfy orange light setting a warm and romantic atmosphere, Zhongli lifts the cat so you can slip some of the blanket on his lap you switch on the movie.

There's a knock on the door “Let me get it” Zhongli whispers “Okay, let me pause the movie” You sit up from his chest and grab the remote pushing pause. Zhongli slips off of the couch and to the door grabbing his wallet and handing the man a ten-dollar tip “Thanks man, stay warm” the guy says “You as well” Zhongli hums closing the door, bag of food in his hands he walks into the kitchen and sees your already there with two bowls, a plate, and silverware all waiting “Would you like some water or anything?” you question grabbing two mugss from a cupboard “Do you have tea?” “Mhmm, I have Green, Jasmine, or Earl Grey” You look through your lazy susan “Green, please” You put the bag on the counter, filling up your kettle with water and putting it on its stand so it can heat. Zhongli washes his hands the aroma of lemon and mint resting on his hands, he walks over and puts the curry into the bowls and the naan and rice on the plate, he hears the kettle beep, and as you start steeping the tea. He looks back over his shoulder letting the gentleness of it all fill his heart with warmth, he walks over to you “Can I hold you?” he whispers into your ear “If you want to” he quickly wraps his arms around you and nuzzles his face into your neck your hair ticking his ears “Are you alright?” you inquire “I realized it’s been so long since I’ve held someone like this” even if it was for pretend he can pretend with you. His hot breath warms the cold spot on your neck your heart swells at the sweetness of the moment, like sitting by the heater on a snowy day reading with hot chocolate and cookies. You lean into him “I could get used to this” you mumble focusing on the tea, you hear your cat run down the hallway the little jingling bell on her collar announcing when she is nearby, and her little “Mrow?” and trills when she can’t find you or feels left out. You snort as she runs into the kitchen weaving between both of your kegs “Is it dinner time Lettie?” you tease your wide smile making your speech slur a little, Zhongli presses a kiss behind your ear unwrapping himself from you “Thanks I needed that” he clears his throat “Any time” you hum “Do you want me to feed her?” he asks picking up her food bowl “If you would that would be great, it’s in the fridge second shelf purple can.”

You both sit back down on the couch and resume your movie, shoveling the hot food in your mouths scratching that persistent itch as the curry fulfills your cravings.

In the end, Westly gets Buttercup, Inigo, and Fezzik are close friends, everyone lives happily, and the boy has a wonderful memory with his grandpa.

"Let's head to bed" you yawn "Where am I sleeping?" he yawns himself "Don't be silly, there's enough room in my bed for the both of us." "That woul-" he tries to interject "It's my job" He sighs but smiles and follows you.

And now two people and a cat cuddling under soft blankets as cold fall rain patters against the glass.

you get zhongli some new books for his already endless collection, but decide to spice things up a little while you’re at it. you figured that he’d had his fair share of ancient texts and scriptures, so you resort to splurging on the latest light novels from inazuma; a genre you’re almost a hundred perfect sure he’s never tried before. one of the light novels in the bundle you purchased is pretty please, kitsune guuji?, a fan favorite. you thought it’d be zhongli’s type.

“for me, you say?” his deep voice is layered with warmth and pleasant surprise as he unwraps the thick package in his hands. “what’s… this?” he appears confused at first, but seems to be intrigued by the novels’ covers and titles. he offers a flattered smile as he graciously thanks you for the strange yet thoughtful gift.

it didn’t exactly come as much of a surprise, but zhongli got utterly addicted to kitsune guuji. you would often catch him intently flipping through chapter after chapter in between the gaps of his busy work schedule - a mission accomplished in your eyes.

a man with many responsibilities and lifelong duties to uphold, he hardly has time for idle manners or silly pleasantries such as yuri light novels from inazuma - but your gift warmed him. it made him feel anchored to the world he feels so far away from; a sinking rock in an endless, drifting river that knows nothing but boundless change. you are his right here, right now - his always.

diluc - 04/30

diluc always struck you as a simple, no-nonsense person - someone who appreciated traditional and conventional gestures when it came to “meaningless events” like birthdays; or maybe even no gestures at all. still, you refused to let him get away with that logic this time, and decided to get him a box of pretty praline chocolates and a handheld bouquet of windwheel asters. a practical yet fine gift, you thought.

you meet up with him at the winery one day for a birthday lunch, gifts in hand. shyly, you present the box of chocolates to him, followed by the bouquet of fragrant flowers that you make sure to specify were handpicked by yours truly. “o-oh, you didn’t have to,” he looks stunned at first, but his features eventually melt into a warm expression of relief and gratitude. “thank you for your gift. i appreciate it deeply.” he turns away then - but not before you spot the growing redness of his cheeks.

you never see diluc snacking during work hours, which happen to occupy most of the day. but once in a while you open the box of chocolates to find it multiple pralines short; a sight that delights you to no end. you also notice a new addition to his work desk - a vase of beautiful windwheel asters.

although he doesn’t always show it, diluc thinks of you constantly. he yearns for your presence when you’re away, and is willing to make exceptions for you when it comes to sticking to busy work plans and responsibilities. he’s just incredibly shy, and he shows his affection for you in countless other ways - ways that truly count.

ayato - 03/26

the thing about ayato is that, while he puts up a playful front around you most of the time and is often unable to hide his flirtatious side, he’s extraordinarily focused. he spends much of his day working away as head of the yashiro commission, both a dedicated leader and older sibling. in order to help him take some time off of work, you decide to get him an intricately-carved ryūteki (dragon flute) - with bamboo walls as steadfast and sturdy as ayato himself.

“why, that’s very thoughtful of you. i’ve always had a musical side - ever since i picked up my mother’s flute when i was a child. this gift means a lot to me.” you blush, unprepared for the grandeur of his gratitude. “now… is there anything else you’d like to give me? or perhaps, shall i pick what comes next?” he raises a mischievous eyebrow - and you know you're in deep, deep trouble.

you often meet up with ayaka for tea at the kamisato estate, and while ayato is often locked up in his office sorting out clan affairs, you occasionally hear the sweet, tender melody of the ryūteki you handpicked just for him. clouds drifting past the vast blue expanse of sky, you hear a magnificent dragon soar towards the sun.

the esteemed head of the yashiro commission is a reliable, consistent leader to many. he’s all that and more to you. you know him as a flirt and a bit of a show-off, but that’s what you love about him. he gets many suitors - naturally - but little do any of them know that he’s already found his one true love - one that he’ll never forget.

👹 He's not too offended when you shy away from him at first, his first impressions can always be a bit much, and even he knows that, he may have been especially grandiose about it because oh my god pretty oni girl.

👹 Tones it down pretty quick, gets your name, and picks up pretty quickly that you're mad shy, and that's something that takes him a long time to get used to, because he's so used to...well, himself, it's difficult for him to actually imagine an oni being shy, heck, even the blue oni are assertive in their own ways.

👹 He continues to come and see you, slowly trying to coax you out of your shell, he talks about the gang alot, telling you they'd LOVE to meet you, but doesn't try to force it, especially not when he mentions that the gang are all humans.

👹 He does not miss the way your eyes glance upwards to your own horns whenever the topic of humans come up, or the way your shoulders bunch with anxiety. He may not have many brain cells rattling around up in that gnoggin of his, but he's not a total idiot.

👹 Though, eventually he asks if he can bring Grandma Oni with him one day, explains that she's a human, but she's raised him since he was a child and you had nothing to fear from her. Which was absolutely correct.

👹 Grandma Oni, of course, absolutely adores you, adores the fact her little chaos child had found you and wasn't being too pushy (and secretly also having a proud 'my boy wanted the object of his affections to meet his mama' moment.

👹 But the way you act with itto and the way you interact with Grandma Oni are so...different, it doesn't go unnoticed by him either, the way you sit a little straighter, move a little slower, you even cut your nails? why would you need to do that? oni are meant to have pointy nails, not like cutting them does much, they regrow back into little points within the day....

👹 So when he visits next and sits down, he asks about it. The response breaks his heart a little. Not every oni could take the backlash of humans and roll with it like he does and apparently too much negative reaction from them as a child, with no one to fall back on for support like grandma oni could have some pretty serious effects on a young oni's self esteem.

👹 The moment you tell him you hate your horns and pull aside some of your hair to show him the several attempts you'd made at cracking them off over the years (with no luck save for a few score marks you'd made with a saw, but trying to get something on your head off is difficult alone) his heart shatters.

👹 This is the first time he actually bucks up the courage to kiss you. Because you're crying and sad and have so much fear and that's just not ok by him and you really looked like you needed the tightest hug and a few good smooches.

👹 To be fair he'd gone to kiss your cheek, but you'd shifted at the wrong time and ended up kissing you square on the lips, but hey, you dind't pull away instantly, that's gotta account for something, right?

👹 Dumbass makes it his personal mission to try and help you see that not all humans are scary, and in time he does finally convince you to meet the gang, as expected, they lose it, joking that the boss had finally found someone who had a decent head on her shoulders to lead the gang (Itto pretends to be huffy about it)

👹It takes longer than itto would want to admit before you two get down in the sheets. Heck he thought you were adorable enough whenever he kissed you that the thought never came to mind.

👹It's one evening however as you're making dinner (you were a way better cook than he was that was for damn sure) when he finds himself staring at your horns, and a thought comes to mind, because it's something he'd always wondered, but never been able to test on his own.

👹 So right as you turn, content to let the soup simmer a while, that you find yourself caught in his strong embrace with an almost predatory look in his eyes.

👹 You're naturally confused, especially when he ducks his head forward and- oh my god he just licked one of your horns. The way his hands tighten on your hips when you gasp is all the warning you get before he chuckles and grazes teeth along the horn instead.

👹 Sir that should be illegal.

👹 It's all downhill from there, it really is stupid how easily this man can just pick you up like you weigh nothing and carries you to bed. it's especially frustrating when his mouth keeps assulting your horns, how dare he use part of you that you dislike to make you feel good, that's not fair!!

👹In itto's eyes, using your horns to make you feel good is a great thing!! especially if it's him making you feel good, so he's absolutely going to exploit the hell out of it.

👹 You hate the fact he doesnt keep this information contained to the bedroom either. In fact, he absolutely starts running his fingers along your horns as a sign of affection, which feels good yes, but it draws attention to them, something you were still very much not used to.

🔥 His grumpy lecture comes to a stuttering halt however the moment the first tears fall. oh fuck, oh fuck he made you cry- shit fuck goddamn it that wasn't what he'd wanted at all.

🔥 His tactics are quickly thrown to the wind as he clambers into bed with you, pulls you into his lap. Peppering your face and neck with kisses between hushed apologies and affectionate compliments.

🔥 Things only seem to go downhill from there. Running his hands over every part of you and telling you why he loves that part.

🔥 Hands? sure they're not baby-soft, and they have a few scars, but to him that's proof of hard work, something he can appreciate and respect more than some little doll who sits up and is waited on hand and foot all day.

🔥 Hair? always soft, it's one of his favorite things to play with, you're the only one who know's just how skilled diluc is at braiding, because he absolutely refuses to do it to anyone elses hair.

🔥 Face? Eyes? gods he could stare at your face all day and never grow tired, could drown in your eyes and die a happy man.

sorry this was so late, had to pull a sicky from work yesterday because If i didn't I think I would have really had a gd mental breakdown, so I needed rest, and apparently so do

Diluc, Jean, Zhongli, Ningguang, Childe, The Kamisato siblings and Yae.

Fluff, comfort, sadtimes, lotsa smoochies

Diluc

When he breaks, it's quiet at first, barely a sniffle as he turns his head into your belly to hide his face.

However it doesn't remain quiet for long. Years of grief and pain will do that to a person, especially one who insists that he's fine on his own, bottling up his emotions and his true thoughts until he physically, mentally and emotionally just can't do it anymore and it explodes outwards with harsh, wracking sobs.

There isn't much you can say comfort-wise, you know why he's upset, you know there's no bringing his father back, there's no reversing everything. So instead you sit and you card your fingers through that stupidly soft mop of red and you hum quietly, sounds and touches for him to slowly focus on when he's ready.

You wont speak of it afterwards, these private moments with diluc are to remain exactly that. the fact that he trusted you enough to come to you when he felt that vunerable was special enough.

Jean

The poor, overworked, underappreciated acting grandmaster. She was always friendly and approachable, uncaring that at times, her job seemed thankless. which is exactly why you're caught so off-guard when you decide to show your appreciation by bringing her a Pizza, fresh from good hunter, to share for lunch.

She blinks down at the meal on her desk, and then back up at you, and at first, you think you'd done something wrong, but then she sniffles and tries to rub at her eyes, and before long there's torrents of tears and you're so caught off guard that the only thing your brain tells you to do is pull her into an embrace and just let her cry it out.

She's muttering apologies the entire time between wet, shaky sobs and you can only shake your head, tell her it's alright, let it out.

You make a mental note to kick some of her higher-standing officers into gear and have them show her little acts of appreciation more often, if simply bringing her a pizza had caused all this.

Once she's finally calmed though, she smiles at you, soft and warm, if still a little wet.

As it turns out, lukewarm pizza tastes amazing after a good cry.

Zhongli

The usually stoic ex-archon of liyue? considering how much he'd seen, felt, loved and lost in his lifetime, it's really a wonder he didn't cry more.

Even then, he's very...quiet about it. Simply laying his head in your lap without a word, which was the first clue something was off, for him not to be speaking, the second clue was that he hadnt asked. In all the time you'd known him, Zhongli always asked before doing anything, be it as simple as holding your hand, or kissing you.

So you can only sigh softly when you see the glimmer of gold slide down his cheek, his eyes shut, but his brows furrowed, before another golden tear slips out, and another.

You don't ask him what the matter is, there could be several thousand, or there could be one. He would tell you in time.

You simply run your thumbs across his cheeks, collecting the little golden tears, even they tingle with his raw geo energy, and are sinfully beautiful for such a sad moment.

When he finally opens his eyes again, you smile and lean down to press a kiss to his forehead. He could very well have had a full break down, to cry and scream and sob, but he never does. Part of you wonders if that's due to his own self control, or if he simply...didn't know that was an option. But he smiles back at you today, and mumbles a quiet apology, one you wave away

Despite this, he does not deign to move for some time, nor do you force him to. you might not have godly levels of patience like him, but for him? you'd happily sit forever.

Ningguang

It is so very rare for the Tianquan to finally snag a moment alone, and in those moments, she often chooses to spend with you. She apparently very much enjoyed the fact that you treat her like a regular person, treated her as an equal and not as a ruler. Which is why it was you who most often saw her cry, but even then, these events were few and far between.

This one however, you had somewhat expected. The jade chamber, her dream, her lifes goal, now lay in ruin, sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Everyone had branded Lady Ningguang once again as a hero, a noble sacrifice... That didn't mean she wasn't allowed to be sad about losing all her hard work. which is why, whent he dust had settled, she'd come to you. The look on her face was all you needed to open your arms and let her engulf you.

Her grief is loud, screaming sobs that remain muffled by your shoulder, sharp nails scratching your back as she lets that sadness consume her, and you smile, because she needed this, even if it was ugly, even if it hurt.

It feels like hours before she finally begins to settle, her chest heaving with the exhertion of such forceful emotion, and she slumps. you're there to catch her, you always would be, winding your arms around her middle, rubbing her back and mumruring words of comfort and reassurance.

¤ Diluc personally brings you pancakes with ice cream the next morning, he's a sweetheart like that.

Zhongli

¤ He'd made sure the night was perfect, of course he had, it's Zhongli.

¤ Lovely dinner, serene walk along the docks, candles, glaze lily petals, the whole nine-yards, because he'd been courting you for nearly a damn year and the moment you'd told him you were ready, he began planning.

¤ You were so very pliant under his gentle touch, you'd already admitted that pleasure was something you'd scarcely felt, and never with someone else, but your reactions were lovely.

¤ He was absolutely meticulous with it all, keeping tabs on every little reaction, it had been a very, very long time since he'd last taken a mate, he wanted this experience to feel as good for you as it did him.

¤ so your comment comes so wildly out of left field that it has him stopping dead in his tracks.

¤ It's as he finally sheds away the last of his clothing, you'd been naked before him for so very long now it seemed unfair to leave you alone like this. You knew of his past identity and all that came with it, the reasons he always covered his arms and hands, to hide away the marks of an archon who'd toiled the land with his people for centuries. You also knew of his more carnal form, which is why it really shouldn't have surprised him, but considering how breathless and wanton you'd been just moments before...

¤ "Huh....No ridges....oh...oh I said that out loud didn't I?"

¤ Your eyes meet in silence for a moment, you look absolutely embarassed and terrified; you thought that of all the things that may have carried over into his new human vessel, apparently a ridged dick had been one of them.

¤ So it comes as a welcome relief to you when Zhongli laughs, pure, hearty, a very rare sound, and yet here he is, with his forehead pressing into your shoulder, knelt between your legs, laughing. If Zhongli's laugh was one thing, it was contagious, and soon your worries melt away with the laughter.

¤ To his credit, he does offer to change up his form a little if ridges are what you desired, easily shifting the mood right back into a heady, intimate state.

¤ You think, at least for tonight, perhaps a human dick would be the better option.
