“I’m going to look the suits over one last time before looking my reactor over,” Tony whispered to Y/N. “Are you going to be okay alone for a little while?”

“I’ll be fine,” she responded. “I need some time alone anyway.”

“Okay. I love you.”

“Love you too.”

They shared a brief kiss before Tony headed for the lab and Y/N went outside. She was craving a run, wanting time to short through her thoughts. She began with a slow jog, slowly increasing her speed the more she thought about everything that had happened and could possibly happen.

Rounding the track for the seventh time, she noticed Steve waiting. She rolled her eyes and pushed herself to run faster passed him. Too bad Y/N wasn’t a super soldier too, he quickly caught up with her.

“We need to talk,” Steve said, running beside her.

“I’m done talking,” she retorted, trying to push herself harder.

Steve sighed and easily caught up with her again. “Well I’m not. Can you stop for a second?”

“No.”

“Y/N, I just want to talk.”

“And I don’t want to listen.”

“Please.”

“Steve, I really don’t want to do this—“

“I’m sorry.”

Those words had Y/N skidding to a sudden stop. She was panting, too shocked to turn around. As soon as the words left his mouth, Steve had stopped. They were a few feet apart, but it felt like miles.

“What?” Y/N breathed out, slowly turning around.

“I’m sorry,” her brother repeated. “And in saying that, I know that it’s not enough. But… I’m sorry.”

“What are you apologizing for exactly? Bringing me along with you back in the 40s? Me waking up before you? You not accepting that I’m different now then I was, and that’s okay? Or for you not trusting me? For doubting me?”

“For all of it. I’m sorry that I brought you along on that world tour. I’m sorry that you fell from the ship and I couldn’t save you. I’m sorry that you had to spend years without any family members, believing that Bucky and I were dead. I can’t—“ He shook his head. “I can’t even imagine how lonely that felt. Because I woke up and I still had you. Though, you had changed…. And I’m sorry for not accepting it sooner. I… I guess I’m just hurt because you kept those things for me. Out of all people, you kept all these things from me, your twin. Your abilities, Coulson, your knowledge of the Stones… you knew so much, yet you didn’t share it…. And… And I guess I’m jealous.”

“Jealous? Of what?”

“You’ve found someone who loves you and fights for you. And you fight for equally in return. You guys lean on each other through everything, which is so admirable. And you have Morgan, who is the greatest thing. I love her so much.”

“She loves you too.”

“I want what you have… and I haven’t been able to find it. It’s killing me… the only person who I’ve ever wanted a family with was Peggy. And that’s not an option.”

“You’ll find someone better than her. I know it’s hard to believe, but you will.”

“I’m sorry, for everything. I really am.” Y/N was hesitant to believe Steve, and he could tell. “I don’t want to go into tomorrow, whatever may happen, without having cleared things up with you. I don’t want to do tomorrow without you knowing that I do love you and I do trust you…. Can you forgive me?”

Y/N bit her lips and looked away, trying to keep the emotions at bay and failing. She looked back at her brother and took a deep breath. “Yes… I forgive you.”

Steve rushed up and bear hugged his sister. She quickly wrapped her arms around him as well.

“I’m so sorry,” Steve whispered.

“I know,” she replied. “I am too. Let’s try and not be at each other’s throats constantly.”

“I think I can do that.” He pulled away, still holding onto her arms. “Thank you.”

“For what?”

“Putting up with me.”

“Well, I haven’t exactly made it easy on you either.”

“Right. Have you called Morgan yet tonight?”

“I haven’t, but she’s probably already in bed.”

“Do you think we could try? I want to see her, before anything happens tomorrow.”

“Good thing I have her on the line right here, Cap,” Tony stated, walking towards the twins.

“Uncle Steve!!!” Morgan squealed from the phone.

“Mo!!” Steve quickly swiped the phone from Tony. “How’s my favorite niece doing?”

“Good! Happy and Pepper let me swim in the lake today!”

“What?!” Y/N exclaimed, pushing to get into the view of the camera. “It’s October!”

“I didn’t— Morgan give me the phone,” Happy ordered. He swiped it from the little girl. “We didn’t let her! She snuck out.”

“Way to go, Mo!” Tony cheered.

Y/N smacked his arm. “Don’t encourage this,” she scolded.

“Sorry.”

“I’m sorry, momma,” Morgan said sadly, taking the phone back from Happy.

“It’s okay, sweetie,” Y/N replied. “I just don’t want you to get sick. Okay?”

“Okay… when are you and daddy coming home?”

Y/N made eye-contact with the men surrounding her before looking back at her daughter. “Hopefully tomorrow night, or the next day.”

“Yay! Will Uncle Steve be coming with you?” Y/N looked at Steve.

“Of course,” Steve answered. “I need some time with my biggest fan.”

“Yay!!!!!”

“Okay,” Tony took the phone, “it’s time to go to bed, little miss. We love you.”

“Love you 3000!”

“Love you baby,” Y/N said as Tony hung up the phone. “This is going to work, right?” She looked at the men, pleading with her eyes. “We’re going to get the Stones, bring everyone back, and no one is going to die…. Right?”

Tony cupped her face and her hands when to grab onto his wrists. “Nothing is going to happen,” Tony promised her. “We are all going to be okay. And we,” he paused for a brief kiss on her lips, “are going to get back to Morgan safely.”

“Tony’s right,” Steve agreed. Tony broke contact with Y/N’s face, bringing an arm around her waist and pulling her into his side. “We’re going to get through this.”

“I hope so,” she whispered.

Tony and Y/N said goodnight to Steve and headed straight for their room. The door had barely shut before Tony had her up against the wall and his tongue in her mouth. Y/N willing grasped onto him, letting him take control.

“I love you,” he murmured against her as they worked together to tear their clothes off. “I love you… I love you.”

“Are you trying to make up for us not having sex when we said we would?” She panted ever so slightly.

“Maybe,” he smirked, lifting her up. “Or maybe, I just want to show my wife how much I love her before we head off to the past tomorrow.” He gently laid her on the bed and he knelt over her. He ran his fingers down the side of her face. “I love you,” he repeated.

“And I love you… now, are we doing to do it? Or are you going to make me beg?”

The Team could feel the weight of their mission when they woke up in the morning. Getting geared up, everyone checked everything over numerous times. Scared to over look anything. The Team headed to the platform together, with Steve leading the charge. Bruce stopped at the control panel as the rest walked up onto the platform. They each took a position around where the opening would be, Y/N in the middle of Steve and Tony. They all looked at their Captain to say something before they headed off. With a sigh and a second to get his thoughts together, Steve began:

“Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends… We lost family… We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win.” Looking passed Y/N, Steve and Tony shared a look. “Whatever it takes. Good luck.”

“He’s pretty good at that,” Rocket commented.

“Right?” Scott agreed.

“Alright. You heard the man,” Tony said. “Stroke those keys, jolly green.”

“Tractors engaged,” Bruce responded.

Tony reached over to Y/N and tugged her into him, landed a loving kiss on her lips. “I love you.”

“I love you, too,” she responded.

Bruce joined them on the platform and the quantum realm opened up. Tony and Y/N separated, looking down at the swirling colors. Natasha was smiling excitedly.

Turning to Steve, she said, “See you in a minute.”

Steve gave her a small smile in response before the Team’s helmets formed and they shrunk, entering the quantum realm. They were all together at first, until their GPS’ split the groups up to where they were heading. Tony, Steve, Y/N, Bruce, and Scott landed in New York 2012, in the midst of the Battle of New York. Their suits disappeared and Y/N immediately gasped loudly, stumbling back. Tony and Steve were quickly at her side to stable.

“Honey? Honey, talk to me,” Tony urged as Y/N’s breathing matched her rapid heartbeat. “What’s going on?”

“Th-The Stones,” she gasped. She could feel the connection forming once again. “They… I can…”

“Can you control them?” Steve questioned, trying to see if he could see what Y/N was trying to get at.

She nodded. “Yes.”

“Do you need to sit down?” Tony wondered.

“I’ll be fine. I just…” The buzzing began, making Y/N cringe. “I just need a second. But you guys can start without me. It shouldn’t be hard for me to catch up.”

“You sure?” Steve asked.

“I’m sure.”

“Alright then, we all have our assignments. Two Stones uptown, one Stone, down. Stay low. Keep an eye on the clock.”

Suddenly 2012 Hulk passed by their alleyway, smashing everything along his way. Bruce put his hand on his face, embarrassed. Steve looked at him.

“Feel free to smash a few things along the way,” Steve said.

“I think it’s gratuitous, but whatever,” Bruce muttered. He looked Y/N’s way. “You coming?”

“Yeah,” she responded. She leaned over and kissed Tony, pulling him closer by his neck. “Please be save.”

“Always,” he smirked. The two shared one last kiss before Y/N broke off and headed Bruce’s way.

“Need a lift?” Bruce asked, tearing off his shirt.

“Nah,” she grinned, opening a portal behind her. “I think I have a better way.”

“Jealous!” Scott exclaimed. “Do we have to— Ahh!!”

Scott failed to finish what he was saying, due to the fact that Y/N had opened portals beneath the others. She waved and blew a kiss as they fell through, landing them behind the Tower. She chuckled as she went through her portal, Bruce following. Closing the portal, Y/N and Bruce looked to see that they were in the Sanctum where they had met Dr. Strange.

“Hello?” Y/N said. “Is anyone—ah!”

Her trick was played on her and Bruce. The two of them falling through a portal and onto the roof.

“Careful,” the Ancient One warned. “I just had the floors waxed.”

“I’m looking for Doctor Strange,” Bruce said, him and Y/N standing up.

“You’re about… five years too early. Stephen Strange is currently performing surgery about twenty blocks that way.” She pointed. “But you should have known that already.” She looked right at Y/N. “What do you want from him?”

“That, actually.” Bruce pointed towards the necklace around her neck.

“Ah! I’m afraid not.”

“Sorry, but I wasn’t asking.”

“Maybe we should—“

“You don’t want to do this,” the Ancient One interrupted Y/N.

“Ah, you’re right, I don’t,” Bruce responded. He made a grab from he necklace. “But we need that Stone, and we don’t have time to beat it—“

The Ancient One quickly pushed Bruce’ astral form out of his body. Bruce, who now looked more human, stared at the Ancient One horrified.

“Let’s start over,” the Ancient One said, “shall we?”

“You know who I am?” Y/N asked.

“I do. But, do you know who are?”

“I’m getting there. And I’m so sorry to bug, but we really need that Time Stone.”

“No.”

“Do you know what happened?”

“I do.”

“Then you know why we need it.”

“Still, a no."

“Please, please,” Bruce, still in astral form, begged.

“I’m sorry, I can’t help you two. If I give up the Time Stone to help your reality, I’m dooming my own.”

“With all due respect, I’m not sure the science really supports that.”

The Ancient One created a projection of a long ray, simulating the flow of time. Projections of the Stones hovered above it.

“The Infinity Stones create what you experience as the flow of time. Remove one Stone and that flow splits,” she explained before she plucked the Time Stone projection away and pointed at the diverging line. “Now, this may benefit your reality, but my new one… not so much. In this new branched reality, without our chief weapon against the forces of darkness, our world will be overrun. Millions will suffer. So, tell me, can your science prevent all that?”

“No, but we can erase it,” Bruce retorted. “Because once we are done with the stones, we can return each one to its own timeline at the moment it was taken. So, chronologically,” he held the Time Stone projection, “in that reality,” he set it back, “it never left.” The diverging line disappeared.

“But you are leaving out the most important part. In order to return the Stones, someone would have to survive.”

“We will. I will. I promise.”

“I can’t risk this reality on a promise. It is the duty of the Sorcerer Supreme to protect the Time Stone.” She turned away.

“Then, why the hell did Strange give it away?”

She turned back, shocked. “What did you say?”

“Strange, he gave it away,” Y/N repeated, surprised that the Ancient One didn’t know since she seemed to know everything. “He gave it to Thanos.”

“Willingly?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“We have no idea,” Bruce answered. “Maybe he made a mistake.”

“Or I did.” She returned Bruce into his body and opened her necklace, revealing the Time Stone. “Strange is meant to be the best of us.”

“Ancient One, please trust us,” Y/N pled. “I am realizing now you only know so much, but you know what I am meant to do. And I cannot do it without the Stones. They were destroyed and I have no access to them. We need the Stone so that we can bring everyone back and… and so that I can complete whatever calling the Stones have put upon me… Strange knew the calling as well. So he must have given the Time Stone away for a reason.”

“I fear you might be right.” She handed Y/N the Time Stone.

“I’m counting on you two. We all are.”

“Thank you.”

Y/N handed the Stone over to Bruce, who had something to put it in. Bruce nodded before pressing a button and disappearing. Before Y/N could follow after him, the Ancient One called out to her.

“Y/N.” Y/N stopped and turned. “Before you go, you might want to check on your husband and brother.”

“What? Is something wrong?”

“Just go to their meeting place. And, Y/N, be careful.”

ZACK FAIR SHIP BIAS [ Really just an excuse for me to cry about my ships on the dash. ]

ZERITH - Aerith + Zack.

I will always be a sucker for these two, just two lonely teenagers coming together && finding in each other a safe space where they can just breathe && escape the world around them. The devs have said that WHENEVER ZACK WAS IN NEED OF HEALING HE'D SEEK OUT AERITH. && this has never meant physical healing, but emotional.

It hurts even more when you think about their past, on all accounts they shouldn't work. Aerith is an escaped test subject, a girl who's watched her mother die && is deemed the last of her kind, she's been registered as 'an other', so much so that she's afraid to be anything but normal. Because normal is best, normal is safe && normal will protect her from ShinRa's abuse.

While Zack is a child SOLDIER falling for the propaganda that Aerith's abusers have been spewing. He 'willingly' made himself into an experiment for them, giving up his normality in hopes of being something more. But he's also kind && so in love with life && his influence probably impacted Aerith's views on normality allowing her to come to terms with herself more. They are just dumb teenagers flirting, but there's just so much hopefulness and light in their interactions. && then we get Zack coming back, && he's not the same && he's so afraid that she will see it. && Aerith probably knows he should have died, that she's going to die, bt she also needs the comfort he provides, especially after seeing Hojo again. They are complicated && messy, && it's never going to be easy but oh there's so much angst && hurt / comfort.

CLARK - Cloud + Zack.

They are the softest soft && I'll fight anyone on this. They are each other's foils, they are two sides of the same coin && I love the very essence of this trope. Both are boy's from similar backgrounds, from impoverished reactor villages filled with ambition && a want to be something more. They can bond so easily, literally falling into step with each other && finishing each other's sentences within five minutes of meeting because they understand each other so much. Zack understands Cloud's ambition, just as Cloud understands why Zack would leave home to join SOLDIER. && then the unimaginable happens && they both have to navigate && survive their world falling apart. Everyone talks about how Zack saved Cloud, how he dragged him for nine months to safety, how he gave his life for Cloud. But Cloud saved him too. Without Cloud, Zack wouldn't have been as motivated, he would have lost himself to his loneliness && recklessness. He struggles for so long for them both because Cloud surviving was the hope that kept Zack going.

Ellana Lavellan && Zack.

They are both so alike that understanding comes easily to them. Ellana a Dalish mage struggling with the pressures of the Inquisition, && the very nature of the Inquisitions faith opposing her own. && then we have Zack a sunshine ex-Templar who's over here supporting her. They are both friendly, flirty && that was how it all started. It's easier to flirt when facing down the end of the world, && through that genuine affection soon blooms after. Both are just so in love with life, && just flirting up a storm to the annoyance of everyone else.

Other ship / ship tropes that work for Zack.

BATTLE COUPLES !!! Give me those battle couples, someone who can fight side by side with Zack would be cute af.

But the main thing with Zack will always be KINDNESS, he's attracted to kindness.

Because I've said so Zack will only ever enter into SOFT ships. One he has deep-rooted trust issues, especially in his main verse, making him easy to get along with but hard to enter into a romantic relationship with. && Two there’s enough toxic angst in his life, he doesn’t need that in his romantic relationships.

Zack will never enter into any ship with any characters who were adults when he was a teenager in Crisis Core. [ I.e Sephiroth, Angeal, Tseng. ect ect. ]

The chances of Zack entering into a romantic relationship with a member of the Turks are very very slim. [ Maybe even non-existance. ]

In my Dragon age Verse, Zack will not enter into a relationship with anyone who thinks mages / or ANYONE should be oppressed. FREEDOM for himself && others is something that's heavily linked to Zack's core character. Repression of freedom goes again his ideals. So people who mistreat elves, who think mages should be locked up in a tower, would not jell well with Zack.

&& if the setting is inquisition, he also won't be interested in anyone who's a lot younger than him. [ As he's in his 30s Yay he lived past 23.]

PLAYING: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2

After a dip in enthusiasm for this game, the past two levels have pulled me back in!

The biggest problem with this game is the environment design. While they’ve captured the textures and accents of Star Wars, the spaces just don’t make sense. It’s strange interconnected hallways with confusingly dangerous walkways and bridges. Games like Goldeneye 64 and Half-Life still had very gamey-environments, but they seemed to live within real places. While the past two levels aren’t lived-in, they’re closer.

First, the Fuel Station--or something. The level opens on a rooftop. There’s a lethal space to another rooftop with an interesting structure/guard tower. It took a few tries, but I used my force-jump to hop across. While exploring the other side I realized, while this was a secret area, I could have totally gotten here by taking a back way.

Whatever, I found my way.

This level is basically a downward spiral, not in a bad way--just literally a downward spiral of walkways. The spiral orbits around a center piece that is a fuel container, I think. The goal is to drain the fuel and go through the container to sneak into the thing...

It reminded me of the Missile Silo level of Goldeneye 64, which is a good thing. That was one of my favorite level. The linear, tight spaces allowed for a lot of fun shootouts without worrying about getting lost. Unless you forgot to pick up the keycard or whatever, then there was a lot of back tracking.

This level was fairly similar. It wasn’t too hard to get lost as almost every hall or room led back to the main spiral. What was confusing, was how to drain the fuel tank. There’s four buttons, one on each “level” of the spiral. Because you start at the top and fight your way down, I was under the impression I needed to flip each switch as I traveled down. This was reinforced by the fact that hitting the switch showed the fuel level in a window lower down to where you are. I definitely felt like I was draining the fuel tank.

I finally get to the boom and find a door, but I can’t get in. There’s a switch but it says something about a tool. Like many mid-late 90′s games, this tool is hidden in some random place with no rhyme or reason for being there or for the player to think to look there. You’re just expected to look EVERYWHERE!

Anyway, found the tool and took it back to the tool-using-place and it didn’t work. I spent about 30 minutes backtracking, trying to figure if I had missed a switch or there was a hidden path. After a while, I gave up and checked a guide. Turns out you don’t drain the tank by flipping switches. you move the fuel up higher so you can go underneath. I think...anyway, it was weird and unintuitive.

I then end up in a fuel tunnel--which is huge. This part was interesting cause there’s these walls along the tunnel that have gates. There’s these giant half-pizza doors that rotate open when you use the tool to flip a switch. I realized that if you stood in the door’s path, preventing it from opening, the door stopped and an alarm sounded. Pretty neat. The safety measures made the level feel more lived in. It also created a basic, but logical puzzle of having to close the previous gate before opening the next.

I then wound up in some tunnels that looked like what Luke fail through in Empire Strikes Back and finally into this large, circular room. I knew I “had” to go here, but I couldn’t figure out what to do. There was a circular platform at the center, and it looked suspicious. So I stood on it, jumped on it, threw grenades and missiles at it. I looked it up, I had to use the light saber.

Oh. I didn’t realize this was the only tool to overcome cheap metal.

After that, I had to rush across a platform to jump onto a moving ship. I didn’t quite realize that’s what i was about to do, but fun.

The next level was pretty interesting. I’m on the ship now and I have to “cut the power” to doors to release the locks. Now that have many weapons to choose from (rapid fire pistols, rocket launchers, BFG, whatever) it’s a lot easier to go blaster-crazy. And every defeated enemy drops plenty of ammo. So the caution I needed earlier in the game is gone.

Pretty neat, they had “invisible” force fields defending key areas, but the switches to those force fields are not clearly labeled. Maybe would be nice to have some wires leading me there, or brighter colors and not some tiny, black switch box hidden in a corner.

After disabling a fan, i found myself in a vent shaft. I didn’t not understand what they wanted me to do. It felt like the vents were “breathing” with air pushing and pulling in rhythmic waves. I thought, for a bit, that I was supposed to time the exhale with a jump to get to a higher region, but really--I just had to “sprint through” the resistance and I found myself getting to where I needed to be. A reactor. Though I later realized I needed to disable a force field with an inconspicuous switch and shut down the reactor (I died from radiation a few times).

After all this, I get to a cutscene and my nemesis so far, 8T88, is there. But his head falls off cause he’s already dead. All this time chasing a ghost...A large guy and a tiny guy challenge me with light-sabers to match their sizes. Yay, another awkward boss fight.

I goofed around in the fight before bed, but I didn’t expect to win. I may cheat my way through, I’m really not interested in more junky lightsaber battles. But overall, I’m having fun again!

The Birth of Milla “Maxwell” - Prologue

So I’m translating this thing. Old project actually. I know most people would prefer Alvin Chronicle, but listen, this one’s more pleasant to translate (better style and shorter chapters! Yay!). I’ll still work on Alvin Chronicle from time to time, and idk how often I can update this, but it’s something at least?

Let’s hope one day I can finish all Xillia novels and short stories but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Accident Outline

At the time of the accident, the E.S.S. Zenethra, a first class luxury liner, had departed Port Trigleph with over 1,000 passengers and staff on board. Before dawn, five days after departure, it suddenly vanished without a trace.

Cause of the accident

A few days after the accident, the government officially revealed that it had conducted an experiment aiming to solve the spyrix energy problems caused by the lack of spirits. They called such a project the Otherworld Reactor Plan. It is a plan to capture spirits, which are thought to exist in large numbers in the world Rieze Maxia, created by the lord of spirits, Maxwell.

To carry out the plan, the government has confirmed the location of the hidden Rieze Maxia using a special technique. Under the command of the army, a newly developed spirit artes canceling device was activated and succeeded in breaking through part of the arte concealing the other world. However, shortly thereafter, the spirit Maxwell retaliated, and a regiment was withdrawn at the issue of the battle.

No evidence proves a relation between the E.S.S. Zenethra’s disappearance and the battle, but battle records show that the Zenethra’s transit schedule matches with the location and time of the battle. It is then presumed that the Zenethra was caught in the fight and sunk.

Response to the accident

As no survivors or witnesses could be found, the search for the E.S.S. Zenethra was deemed impossible. The planned recovery of the ship was canceled and the investigation hereby closed.

First chapter (free of smut :P)

The mission on Cyone has been extremely stressful. First the toxic gas around every corner, the missing members of the squad, the comms failing because of the gas, the Reaper’s forces that seemed to sprout from the ground… And when Jane decided to send Vega with the Alliance team to help them, which looked like a good idea at the moment, everything has gone but left them alone to turn on the reactor and fight whatever the number of enemies that creep to their position. The fight has been hard and bloody. Jane and Kaidan have needed to use a medigel dose more than once during the duration of it. Luckily, they haven’t lost the practice to fight alongside the other, even with all the time that has passed. Between his biotics and her armaments, they are keeping the enemies at bay. But then– then the Brute appeared, and charged directly at her. Only her good reflexes and some luck prevented her from ending plastered against the console. After the combat, she centers herself on getting the reactor on and finding Vega, who isn’t answering her calls. They found him near the door, with Captain Riley, who thanked the help, assuring them that they will be dead if not for Vega. Dismissing the gratitude gesture as she always did, she clasped hands with her and called Cortez for an evacuation.

They were sitting on the back of the shuttle, face to face, while Vega stands behind Cortez, talking with him and relating his adventures with the N7 Captain. Shepard can see the cogs running on Kaidan’s head, but didn’t know what. The mission has been successful, no losses on their watch and the reactor on Alliance hands. They are fine, maybe a little sore, but nothing serious. Sure, the probability of going FUBAR after they send James to help Rilen were high, but they made it. She keeps checking her weapons while looking at him from time to time, but his frowned brows never change, and his mouth is closed in a tight line. ‘Shit. He has just joined the crew. Maybe he still has doubts? Damn, what the hell is happening in his mind?’

The doors of the Normandy opened to let the shuttle land on the cargo bay. When Vega turns to leave, he sees Kaidan’s face and looks at Shepard, raising a brow. When she shakes her head, Vega shrugs, clapping Cortez’s shoulders. “Let’s go, Esteban. Blue needs to talk with Lola.” Kaidan looks at him with a surprised look, but Vega just winks at him, dragging Cortez outside the shuttle and closing the door to gives them some privacy.

After a minute of tense silence, Shepard got enough, standing up and moving to sit beside him. “Talk to me, Kai. I can hear the cogs running inside your head.” When he didn’t answer, she just leans back on the wall and lets her head hit it with a thud. “I thought we are good, but I can understand if you want to come back to the Citadel and embark an Alliance ship.”

Her words seem to wake him because he straightens his back and looks intently into her eyes. “That’s not what I was thinking, Jane.” Covering his eyes with a hand, he takes a deep breath, exhaling with a sigh. “I was reviewing the combat near the reactor. The many moments your life and mine has been in danger. Thinking about how easily we can just ‘stop’ being here for one another.” Even with his eyes closed, he feels her body deflating and sinking on the hard bench. “Don’t go there, Jane. Is not what I mean. Is just–” His hand has fallen from his eyes for when he turns to face her. Seeing how her gaze is fixed on her hands, he kicks himself internally. “Jane, please, look at me.” He kneels in front of her, and she opens her legs instinctively to let him come closer if he wants. He did it, and cups her cheek with a hand. “I was thinking about how hard on both of us have been these past years and seeing that the war can end with our lives in any mission, I don’t want– better, I can’t keep myself apart from you anymore.” His thumb caresses her cheek with care, he is still wearing his armour and didn’t want to hurt her. “What I’m trying to say, Jane Shepard, is that I am still very much in love with you.”

Jane’s brow can’t go higher on her face, mouth opened while she looks at him. “Say it again.”

Kaidan sees the love write clearly on her green eyes, but decides to play a bit with her, knowing that in the end, he will like the result. “I gave quite the speech, Jane. Can you say what part do you want to hear again?” She punches his shoulder with force, the sound of the metal of her gloves against his shoulder plate resonates in the closed space. “Fine, fine. I yield. I still love you, Jane. I never stopped. And when that brute charged against you, I only saw the moments I will not share with you, and I’m not planning to let it happen.” Leaning closer, he let her time and space to push him or move away, but instead, she closes the distance launching herself against him. Their lips collide, and when he feels again her flavor in his mouth, the gates of happiness open, the warm sensation flowing through his body and reaching every dark corner that the last two years had created. She bites his lower lip, tongue following to ease the sting. The two of them are moaning softly into the kiss, hands grabbing everywhere they can.

When they break the kiss to breathe, she was smiling, a big and lovingly smile. “I’ve waited for that kiss for months. God, I missed you, Kai.”

Kissing his nose, he nudges it with a mischievous grin on his face. “And I missed you too, Jane.” Standing up, he helps her to stand and moves to open the door, beckoning her to follow him outside. She was smiling when she puts the first foot on the hard ground, but then everything turns upside down when he picks her up over his shoulder.

“Hey!!! What the hell are you doing, Kaidan? Put me down!”

His laugh fills the cargo bay, and she can feel it in her own body when his shakes. “Not happening. I’m gonna take you to your room and be sure to remember you how much I missed you.”

Passing beside Cortez’s terminal, Kaidan just says ‘Gentlemen’ in his way to the elevator, as if nothing were happening. Shepard has the time to see the other two exchanging a look and then grinning like two adolescents. Shepard has stop fighting, knowing that she can win him in this position. Besides, she is not contrary to the idea, just to the mean of transport.

Vega’s voice rises in tone while he brags loudly, “Don’t break her, Blue. We still need our Commander.”

Shepard raises herself from his back using her arms and points to the two laughing men near the console. “I’m gonna kill him, tomorrow. And then I’m gonna come for you too.”

Kaidan chuckles, and soon Vega and Cortez are almost crying. Vega hits Cortez’s back, without breaking eye contact with Shepard. “Hey, Lola. You know that you can come for me whenever you want, but don’t brag about it in front of him. He is pretty jealous.”

“Kaidan, put me down, right now. I need to kill my Lieutenant. No one will miss him, I’m sure. And I can bring Grunt to have another tank of meat.”

Slapping her arse and making her shriek, Kaidan laughs. “Nope. I told you. Spectre orders for you, Commander Shepard. You, me, your quarters and lots of free time.” The lift’s door open and he steps inside, while Cortez give her a thumbs up and Vega tries very hard, even biting his finger, to not say a single word more.

When the doors close on her face, she let her body fall again, hitting his hip with a hand. “You are very much death, Alenko.”

The lift does a quick job, and they reach her quarters in no time. “Let me see what I can do to ask for your forgiveness, Jane.”

Aight so here is my lil Ol vent, 90% of it is barely understandable rambling but here it is.

So my hyper fixation atm is what little bit of lore I’ve got from Overwatch fan fiction lol And because I only have little tid bits my brain is all “let’s fill in the gaps! Make up our own plot!” N I’m just like “no! Dumbass, this isn’t good for us! We need to stop trying to think of this and get back in touch with the real world!” But of course that never fucking works, and this one is esp bad and idk y? Like I’ve had hyper fixations before but they’ve never been THIS intense. Haven’t torn me up this bad before.

But like, the bits I do get of the lore is that everything in this continent is screwed n my paranoia has gone like “that’s gonna happen soon!” N I just scream internally everytime. I guess I just really hate it when American media people decide to make my country nothing more than an apocalyptic wasteland. Like, they love to focus only on the shitty bland white Australian culture while this place literally has the oldest people n culture in the world???? Like what the koories got is so much better than the white bullshit excuse for a “culture” that Americans seems to be in love be with.

And speaking of American idolisation of white Australians, it really peeves me off that the two Australian characters are basically the Overwatch universe equivalent of racists and when I learned that I was just “fuck, THIS again. Like we needed more examples of ‘casual Aussie racism” and it’s super annoying because they’re shipped together n it’s like my dream come fucking true like they’re BOTH Australian AND gay??? Yes! Finally! Something I can personally relate to! But then I found out they are futuristic robo racists. But like, u know of anything else with gay Australians with a large fan base that updates near constantly? No! So I just have to suck it up ignore it cuz this is as good as it’s gonna get for me. And I’m not saying that the roadrat people are racists in fact they’re the exact opposite n I know they’re in the same boat as me, trying to ignore the maybe metaphorical White Australian Racism so they can enjoy a gay couple with a great dynamic n very different body types.

It just peeves me off that once again, just like with all those shitty mad max movies n crocodile Dundee, white Australia is put in the spotlight in American media and any good culture that this continent has is ignored.

I guess now I’ll talk about the bits of lore my brain has decided to fill in???

Okay, so I know that like, the company or whatever that makes the robots decides everyone who lives in the desert can get fucked n move which is real shitty n happens allot today but I’ll talk about that later. So, desert people r understandably pissed. U can’t just do that, we’re gonna fight u! But instead of getting angry at the company, they get angry at the robots??? I think idk. But anyway, desert people decide robots r bad, n all must die. So they kill a bunch, n end up blowing up the nuclear reactor that makes robots, resulting in killing EVERYONE. Like EVERYTHING, robots people plants animals u name it. So now the desert people r all crazy n sick, and the rich city people n company people don’t want to help cuz it’s they fucking fault since that factory wasn’t supposed to be there. And so yeah, two Australian terrorists, blah blah.

But here’s the thing. Right now, real life right, the desert communities in central Australia are mostly Aboriginal. Cuz it’s they land, n they’re luckily been able to keep it that way cuz they’re so far from the coast n the cities. But the thing that happens all the time? They get pushed off of their land by mining companies. So when I learned that bit of Overwatch lore, I was like “hang on r they referencing this???” N so my brain started to fill in.

I’m guessing, that this lil desert town of 95% Aboriginal people r in the way of Future Robot Company. They want them gone, they wanna dig n make more robots (don’t know y???). BUT, you see, in certain areas of central Australia, the Aboriginal communities have been able to get official land rights recognised by the government. Which means they get to have a say in what happens to their country in the Parliament House (sometimes. It’s def not perfect). So, obviously this future desert town is like “lol no u can’t mine our country dumbass” n the gov gotta go with that. But, mining companies r horrible fucking people, so they find a loophole. They say “but we wanna make this a safe place for our robots! We love them n everyone is trying to kill them” so the gov shittily lets it happen, n the company is cheering cuz yay they get to mine n the robots will get blamed for it! So the desert people r all super pissed, n some decide that it must be taken out on the robots! They’re the ones doing all this! But like I said before, this shit happens irl all the time to desert communities. The Aboriginal community understands it’s this shitty company doing all this n using the already being oppressed (???) as an easy blame.

And this is where the “ALF” come in.

Now when I learned about that, it really squicked me out. Cuz here in Australia, there is this skin head group called “Australian patriots front” n the “ALF” that Mako joins sounds like these nazi scum decided to take advantage of these angry desert people, swapped 'Patriots’ with 'liberation’, n recruited these people to push their own hateful agenda. N mako fucking falls for it, cuz he really thinks the robots r to blame. But, the other part of the desert community sees right through this bullshit n tries to stop this group from doing their robot ethnic cleansing. So, being the reskinned nazis they are, the ALF starts to also attack the Aboriginal community of this town for not wanting to kill robots. Mako just goes along with it, cuz he’s young n stupid n hoo boy does he hate robots. So a big Ol fight breaks out. ALF goes to destroy the factory, despite the koories being like “dumbasses ur gonna kill us all its not the robots it’s the sickos in the cities go kill them” n boom. They kill everyone n everything, n have made everything to ever live in the desert sick for eternity. I’d like to think that 90% of the koories were able to get out of there before it all went to shit, so all the people remaining r mostly white. Which kinda explains y Mr. Scopophobia is a blond white guy. So, he grows up with all these remaining ALF people telling him the reason everything is bad is because robots did it. So he too hates robots for a thing they had no control over, n kills any he sees. He has no idea that at one point everyone who lived in this shell of a town was Aboriginal, and probably doesn’t even know that Koories are even a thing. Then yeah he meets mr pig face n decides to go kill robots n rich people (I’m happy with that) in the outside world, and mr pig just doesn’t tell him about how he was partly responsible for ruining their continent and ensuring a shitty upbringing for Jun Jun. why would he? He doesn’t wanna ruin this relationship! Sooo it’s just best lil stick thin man doesn’t know.

After lots of stealing n robot related hate crimes, they for some reason??? Join Overwatch (which I’m not really sure what they do???) n they barely avoid not killing the robots that work there. Which brings me to what I learned not too long ago, that the robots were raging against the machine (horf horf) n had decided to revolt against the human race(I for one welcome our new robot overlords) n start killing humans (2 wrongs don’t make a right buddies). So Overwatch decided to not just stop the robots from killing people, but squashing their revolution n making them back into the servants they were made to be (fuckin shitty) That’s what I understood anyway. Idk. If I’m right about that, why, of all fucking times of our history, would blizzard decide to have a story about a government organisation destroying an oppressed race’s revolution. Like, that’s in bad taste.

So yeah my illness riddled brain has decided to cling to all this, making daily life very difficult for me. Having massive disconnections from reality, like, shit that lasts almost a whole day till my rents get home n snap me out of it. I forget to eat, drink, walk Sputnik, etc. cuz I’m just so lost in my own thoughts. I’m seeing a psych today, but she n a bunch of others might decide if I tell them this to not let me have top surgery so I’m scared to tell her. And cuz my brain has clung onto all this crap, it’s always focusing on how the robots r getting abused n so my brains like “help them! Do it! Now!” N I’m just like “fucker they ain’t real u know this so y r u being a dumbass n wasting time on this” so I’m all pent up n frustrated. I’m not really sure on how to go about dealing with this. I can’t exactly set up a ritual n ask Bunjil n Bellin Bellin to give me a cure for my mental illnesses. I think I’ll look up ways to connect with reality when I get home n see what that tells me.

So yeah, I’m real frustrated. Frustrated with my tiny White Suburban Mum town, with the society we live in where I can’t find a place simply because I can’t do certainly n things n therefore useless to the working world. Frustrated that I can’t help the koorie community here cuz I have no useful skills, n all the hard work at school last year has been all for naught.

So yeah, hopefully this will be the end of this big Ol vent. I’m kinda scared about posting this, scared of people deciding I’m a bad person for whatever reasons in here n going after me. Last thing I need is a digital army against me. Aight bye bye.

GEMINA (the illuminae files_02)

(A spoiler free summary of the first book Illuminae: Kady Grant and Ezra Mason live on Kerenza. An illegal ice mining planet. The book begins with the planet being attacked (and destroyed) by BieTech Corporations (BieTech is like the evil corporation that wants world domination-or something close to that) and the survivors of this attack escape on two ships, the Hypatia and the Copernicus. The Alexander, a UTA (United Terran Authority) hears Kerenza’s distress call and comes to help. There is also the BieTech assault vessel Lincoln that is chasing after them, trying to destroy any news of what BieTech has just done. The book is basically about how the survivors of the Kerenza attack are trying to stay survivors and not become victims of this atrocity. Also did I mention there was a virus loose on the ship that turned people into zombies? And a super computer/murderer called AIDAN? No? Well there are those things too. The Hypatia, Copernicus, and Alexander, are trying to get to the Heimdall, a wormhole/jump station that will allow them to get back to the ‘core systems’ and tell everyone about what BieTech just did.)

GEMINA VOL_02 SUMMARY

The Illuminae files are unique in that they tell the story through-crazy I know-actual files. Seriously, the whole thing is told through emails, surveillance footage summaries, chat room logs, journal entries, etc. It’s a really cool and original way to tell the story and I really enjoyed how easy it was to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes science fiction and stories that will keep you on your toes, I swear I had so many emotions while reading this book it was crazy!

*SPOILERS*

So the book starts with the transcripts of the court proceedings of Leanne Frobisher’s (the head of BieTech Corporations and Ezra Mason’s crazy abusive mom) trial. One of the prosecuting lawyers asks to review the testimonies of the Illuminae files, starting with the attack on the Heimdall.

Then the real juicy stuff begins…

• Niklas Malikov, nephew to the head of the House of Knives (the Russian mafia) is dealing drugs (or dust) to Hannah Donnelly, the daughter of Heimdall’s commander.

• It’s pretty clear that Nik (tall, dimples, brown hair, all the ladies love ‘im) likes Hannah (athletic, blonde hair, the pretty popular girl) and the first time Hannah and Nik met he came onto her and she straight up karate flipped him and ‘sprained’ (broke) his arm.

• Unfortunately Hannah has a boyfriend-Jackson-(one of her father’s junior officers) and she’s pretty sure they’re in looooove (btw Jackson is Hot. Blond hair-tan skin-smouldering English accent)

• We learn from a convo. Between Nik and his cousin Ella Malikov (she got the plague when she was little and is now stuck in a wheelchair-but she’s also a computer genius-so that makes up for it? She calls herself Pauchok which means ‘little spider’ in Russian) that the drugs are harvested from worm/snake things that have four heads. They feed off of brain activity and give off a hallucinogen that immobilizes their prey so they can sneak into their brain and feed off of them. (spooky scary noises).

• On a side note communications officer Sam Wheaton is a secret agent for BieTech-code name Rapier and he is blocking any Hypatia communications from getting to any other station or star system.

• Frobisher tells him she is sending an audit team to take care of the Hypatia and she needs Sam to get her team onto the Heimdall.

• P.S. commander Donnelly knows about Kerenza but he doesn’t know it was destroyed-Kady’s dad is the chief of engineering on the Heimdall and good friends with commander Donnelly

• P.P.S. The Heimdall’s worm hole generator is shut down for Terra day (some kind of holiday) for repairs and is supposed to be offline for seven days. Along with the wormhole being down the communications will be down as well. (So no one will be able to hear them scream muwahahahahah!!)

• Sam blackmails Nik into smuggling the ship on board. But what Nik doesn’t know is that the ship he is smuggling is full of murdering crazy people! He’ll find out soon though ;)

• Nik get’s his uncle Mike’s help (the head of the House of Knives) and a few other Dom Najov (House of Knives in Russian I’m guessing) members to help him smuggle these people onto the Heimdall. The problem is that the enemy ship (the Mao) is arriving on Terra day, the same day that Hannah wanted those drugs from Nik. :/

• So she is super pissed that he is skipping out on her and keeps pinging (texting) him to hurry up. So he has to leave before the ship is unloaded, leaving his uncle Mike and the other Dom Najov operatives to take care of the rest of the deal.

• The audit team (a ruthless BieTech kill squad) begin the takeover of the Heimdall station, (they start with killing the House of Knives members including uncle Mike) coming into the C&C (stands for Command and Control) and starts shooting everyone up. They kill Hannah’s dad and take control of the ship-going on the intercoms and saying that everyone still running loose should give themselves in and surrender. The leader of the team, Travis J. Falk (Falk for short-code name Cerberus) gives everyone 5 minutes and for those still out there he says they’re gonna hunt them down and kill them.

• Meanwhile Nik and Hannah meet for the drug deal around the time the announcement is made on the ships P.A. Nik wants to stick together but Hannah insists on splitting up. (There’s a cute scene before this where Nik gives Hannah a corsage of jasmine flowers-which she said were her favourite-like 2 seconds before it all goes to h*ll) Before they do split up though Nik gives Hannah a secure palm pad that isn’t linked to the ship. (The audit team’s hacker shut down all palm pads linked to the ship so no one can talk to each other).

• P.S. Ella is talking to Nik and Hannah through her super computer Anansi (named after the spider god...cause she calls herself little spider-hehe). She is also trying to infiltrate the bad guys while Nik and Hannah crawl around in the vents and kill audit team members.

• Hannah, being trained in all of the martial arts-begins picking off the squad members like the boss she is. With Ella helping her behind the scenes by opening doors and crap. She gains the attention of Cerberus and they start going after her.

• Meanwhile the cows that the four headed worm things are growing in hatch (they’ve sucked the cows brains dry and with no one to kill them and turn them into drugs they go looking for more prey). So...yay for subplots!

• Cerberus and his team is trying to get the wormhole back online so that the BieTech assault fleet can come through the jump station and destroy the Hypatia. Hannah discovers that when they are done the audit team will destroy the Heimdall so there will be no survivors to tell the tale. (Bum bum bum)

• Hannah also finds out that Jackson is ACTAULLY Rapier-the secret agent that is working for BieTech. (Ikr-super plot twist!) Which is sad and heartbreaking for her cause remember she thought they were in looooove. But instead of falling apart this seems to make her more determined to win against these super baddies.

• P.S. Jackson (real name Sam Maginot-he stole Sam Wheaton’s account to talk to Frobisher) actually does care about Hannah and tries to say sorry to her-that he didn’t mean for it to go this far but she won’t listen. Saying it’s not what you say but what you do that matters. This messes Sam/Jackson up and he leaves the picture for a while to think about whether or not he’s on the bad guys team or Hannah’s team.

• Anyways-Hannah finds out that Nik spent time in jail for killing a guy and his daughter for the Dom Najov. Of course, this really pisses her off and she cuts transmissions with Nik-refusing to talk to him anymore.

• She goes off on another killing spree and after a few convos. With Ella she agrees to talk to Nik again. He explains that it was his brother who killed those people but he took the rap for it because his brother was too young to go to jail. But he got out early because his brother couldn’t take the guilt and killed himself, explaining what happened in his suicide note.

• Hannah apologizes and we get a look into how Nik thinks and his sense of honour and how he protects/cares about the he loves.

• Hannah rescues chief engineer Grant, although he’s been shot, he is ok but can’t really move around. So he sends Hannah on his missions and they communicate through stolen com unites from dead audit team members.

• They are trying to keep the worm hole broken so the BieTech drones can’t come through and destroy the Hypatia.

• Also there are a lot of worm things now that are killing people-just a side note.

• Hannah and Nik finally meet up in the reactor (where the worms hatched) while the audit team chase after them

• Meanwhile Ella is attacked by a worm thing, she calls out for Nik to save her but he isn’t there and can’t save her

• The audit team are closing in quickly-but in the last second Nik gets a genius idea and Hannah helps him set a trap for the hit team.

• They waltz right into it and are attacked by the worms-giving Nik and Hannah a chance to escape. But they are almost to the exit when Jackson the traitor stops them (guess he’s on the bad guy’s team).

• They have a few tense moments before Jackson is attacked by a worm and they escape.

• But one of the team members follows them and before they can escape Hannah drops her journal (something that is super important to her). Nik knows this and goes back for it. Because he went back and gets shot because of it.

• Hannah fights the lady who shot him and kills her, but it’s too late, Nik has bled out and is dead.

• It’s right then that the Hypatia contacts Hannah (they’ve been trying to contact the Hypatia for a while now) and she tells them they need to get ready for a fight because drones are about to destroy them. They ask her about Nik and Ella and she tells them Nik is dead and Ella isn’t answering her pings.

• The Hypatia asks her again if she’s sure Nik is dead.

• She says....yea-she’s sure.

• They then reveal that they are getting messages from someone saying that Hannah is dead, and that he’s Nik (whaaaaaa?)

• This is where things get crazy

• Basically the Hypatia figures out that because of some malfunctioning in the wormhole two realities have their wires crossed.

• So Nik and Hannah are talking to the Hypatia at the same time and there are two realities, one where Nik died and one where Hannah died.

• The universe doesn’t like having its wires crossed and is trying to destroy the two split universes.

• These universes were created when Nik crossed over the horizon of the Hypatia with live hermium hidden in his ship. (Some weird chemical no one knows about).

• So Hannah has to put Nik’s corpse back into the ship and throw it back over the horizon of the Hypatia. (Messed up I know) At the same time that alive Nik drives his ship over the other side of the Horizon of the Heimdall.

• P.S. since the universe is trying to destroy the Heimdall the gravity has failed and everyone is sort of floating around. Except for the audit team who have magboots (magnetic boots).

• After a lot of work they finally make it and exchange Nik’s. This happens as another drone fleet comes to destroy the Heimdall so there will really be no survivors/people to tell the tale.

• While all of this is happening we find out Ella didn’t die but beat the worm thing and came to save Hannah and help get Nik across. Ella tells us that the worm hole is super broken and someone has to stay behind and keep the door open so to speak.

• In the universe where Nik is alive Ella gets shot up by Cerberus. So we are counting on the other Ella to be ok/alive.

• The last transmission is a report from Rapier/Jackson/Sam. Telling commander Frobisher that when he found Ella working the controls in the control room he kills her (in the actual universe so she’s really dead). Then, after Hannah gets Nik from his spaceship that he drove over from the other universe and they come back to find Jackson floating over Ella’s dead body Nik charges him and Jackson shoots him too.

• Hannah is smarter, obviously pained at seeing her friends/boyfriend die. (Btw Nik and Hannah kiss a couple times in the mix and realize that it’s really Hannah and Nik who were in looooove). Jackson knows that Hannah has chosen Nik and he hates her for that, shooting her in the head-he describes her blood in crimson against her beautiful blonde hair. He writes that he knows the attack drones are coming and maybe he will go to the atrium and sit among the greenery before he dies. He asks for Frobisher to tell his father he died a hero. The transmission ends there.

• Or so we think.

• We go back to the court trial and the P.A. System is hacked by Kady and Hannah.

• That’s right.

• Hannah

• Everyone in the court room is confused (as well as me cause I had just accepted their deaths but no-Gemina has to play with my emotions like that) and we see the real transmission/video surveillance.

• Turns out Jackson stayed behind to work the controls so that Ella, Nik and Hannah could escape. Because it’s not what you say but what you do right Hannah? (dang-that’s deep Jackson-guess you’re not so bad after all).

• The book ends with Hannah asking the court “you wanna know how it ends?” (yes! yes I do, please hurry up and give me the third book)

Welp, that’s it. I hope you liked my first summary! (wow that was harder than I thought it would be) I didn’t think it was possible but Gemina topped Illuminae and has left me begging for more. The next and final book is called Obsidio and I CAN’T WAIT!
