You came? You called.
Just a drabble that popped into my head while I was scrolling TikTok. Technically it's based on a Wolffe x Jedi!OC fic I'm writing, but other than being in 3rd person you wouldn't notice. There's probably going to be more written in Wolffe's POV after my eye exam if anyone's interested.
Warnings: none really. It's got angst because I'm listening to Hozier.
The pain was blinding.
Never-ending.
Hot like fire.
She wanted to scream.
She couldn’t force the sound out of her throat.
So, she screamed into the Force.
She screamed, asking for release. Respite. For the pain to fade.
She cried, asking for help. For comfort.
Finally, she cried for him. Begged the Force to bring him to her. Pleaded until it was the only thought.
Then she admitted everything. How she missed him. Missed the comfort his presence brought her. Missed his smile. Missed knowing he was always on her left side. Missed the eye rolls. The connection.
Miss him. Repeated constantly, the only distraction she had. Come here.
Cold washed over her. Respite. Relief. Wolffe.
Murmurs. Words. Someone was talking to her. What were they saying? Didn’t matter. He was here. Wolffe was here. Everything would be ok.
The liquid fire in her blood cooled. Like it too was just waiting for him to arrive.
Peace settled. She relaxed. The calm of sleep took her mind.

She cracked her eyes open slowly, mindful of the bright lights she could see even through her eyelids. It was quiet in the med bay. There was weight on her left side. Slowly she tipped her head. He was there.
Wolffe was working on paperwork. Holding the datapad with one hand while the other arm was his pillow as he leaned against her. He was faced away from her. His hair was getting long, starting to curl. She started to lift her arm to twirl a finger around the longest. His head turned to her at the movement, and she was lost in amber.
He was talking. She could see his lips moving, but she couldn't focus. Couldn’t understand the words he was saying, so caught up in the repeating thought her in head.
“You came,” it was barely a whisper. Her throat was dry and constricted.
He stopped, “You called. Of course, I came.”
His head shook as he scoffed, as if the thought that he wouldn’t come was ridiculous. Her hand lifted again, this time it succeeded in wrapping a curl around her finger.
“I didn’t think you would.”

okiE so what happened was i had lunch with two of my college friends earlier, one of which is sobrang once in a blue moon lang namin makausap (((but we do hv online communication namern))) bc that friend travels around the world almost everyday, like im not even kidding. tapos that friend was in a vidcall and late ko na narealize actually what was happening when he pointed his phone screen on my face. i tot may pinapakita lang siya. nung nanotice ko na na may person pala siya kausap, late din nagprocess brain ko kung sino yung hina-hi-an ko na nagha-hi back din sakin. nyahahahaha. the person on the screen is a well-known international artist pala tapos as a shy type na maloka na makapal face, nung narealize ko na omg this is ano pala, i removed my face mask and said, "wait you should see my beautiful face" bwahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahaafsgsghsjsjsksksksksksjdjkdkdkfkdldldldkdjkdkkdkdksl okie dazz all the end mwAps this was a fun day and it was so good to catch up

Jeanine Áñez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for plotting a coup against Evo Morales in 2019
President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) infuriated the Bolivian government by offering asylum to Jeanine Áñez last Sunday (26). The former head of state was sentenced to ten years in prison earlier this month for taking over the country's presidency irregularly, after the resignation of Evo Morales in 2019.
Áñez has been detained in a women's penitentiary in La Paz since March 2021. Through social networks, managed by her relatives, the former Bolivian president thanked Bolsonaro on Tuesday (28). On Twitter, she stressed that "she is innocent" and that "she has not left the country and will not leave."

homestuck vs bob and george
Whenever i see a really long post analyzing homestucks metamodernity and weird themes I think to myself "What if people were analyzing Bob and George like this." Because Bob and George was doing ALL of the interesting shit Homestuck was more than ten years later (even the epilogues, down to them being mostly by ascended fans) but worse and with less fandom shit. They did the oil retcon thing (there was a period where early strips started slowly getting "whited out" to represent a plot-relevant time paradox.) They did the playing with game mechanics to tell a story (although these mechanics are borrowed from Mega Man and not invented whole-cloth.) it has the author playing a major role in the plot of the story (and even does a lot of weird interesting bullshit with that concept.) i think Bob and George even had a much more interesting relationship to its fandom a lot of the time. it's just like, a Mega Man parody webcomic written by a physics professor, and tonally somewhere between "fanmade TNG script" and "early Family Guy" instead of Homestuck's compelling YA meets chatlog teen drama. But like I like it better for that reason. It's denser and weirder and less polished and there's something in the authors commentary every four pages that's like "I think I was setting a later plot twist here but I forgot about it and did something else."
Of course I'm not pretending not to know the reason people find Homestuck more interesting than Bob and George. It's the nostalgia, the feeling of being part of a fandom, the years and years of tumblr history. That is the actual special part of Homestuck, not any of the well-trod ground it popularized for fandom Millennials. I would love to see people talk about that aspect of it and not any of the extremely basic hyperfiction and metanarrative techniques it turned into a teen sensation, like Beatlemania with the singer-songwriter. I would love to see people who enjoy analyzing Homestuck expand their horizons towards things that are less mythologized or overexposed (that's just me whining though, if Homestuck makes you happy then I have no problem with it.) It's just a really underrated part of internet history and I feel like everyone who likes homestuck should read it too. I know I read Bob and George before I even heard of homestuck and recognized a lot of the elements hs borrows from it.
Shoutouts to Dave Anez, too. Hope he's doing okay.

You came? You Called. Pt.2
Part 2 of a drabble I wrote in July, this time in Wolffe's POV. You can find part 1 here.
Help me please. Wolffe. I need you. I miss you. Come here.
It was repeating in his head non-stop. It had been for some time now. Over and over until he could hardly think about anything other than those few words.
He was trying to do paperwork when his comm blinked to life. He reached across his desk with a sigh, answering without looking at who was on the other end.
“This is Commander Wolffe.”
“Well, I would hope so considering this is your personal comm channel.” One of his brothers snarked. “General Anez needs you. I’m sending you the coordinates for whatever backwater planet we’re on right now. Get here ASAP, yesterday preferably.”
Wolffe’s mind shorted, caught off guard by the bluntness of the clone. He finally checked the comm to see who he was talking to, and he sucked in a deep breath when he realized it was Medic on the other end.
“Is she dying?” He didn’t know why that was the first thing he could vocalize. His mind was still trying to wrap around the fact that Medic, CMO of the 267th Battalion led by General Saalia Anez, was telling him that General Anez – Ali – needed him.
Medic grunted, “Not technically, no. But she’s in a lot of pain and she keeps whimpering your name. General Koon has already approved your leaving. I’m just the messenger.”
“Alright. I’ll be there shortly.”
He stood with an exhale, trying to breathe past the tight feeling that was sitting on his chest, and the cold that had taken over his body.
Help me please. Wolffe. I need you. I miss you. Come here.
A shuttle was already waiting for him, along with some medical supplies that were requested by the 267th. He settled into his seat and tried to ignore the cold that seeped into him. Space was always cold, as was its nature, but this felt colder than normal. This cold made his bones hurt and his blood feel sluggish. He was probably just tired and closed his eyes.
Expect it wasn’t black behind his eyelids because he saw her. Writhing on a med bay bed. Tears slowly creeping into her hairline. Face twisted in pain. Teeth grinding to prevent most of the pained noises. The whimpers that slipped past were his name. Over and over. She cried for him.
His eyes snapped open. His chest heaved as he tried to calm his racing heart. He didn’t know where the images had come from, but they were too realistic, and he didn’t want to risk seeing it again. So, he sat there, awake and alone, listening to the same twelve words on repeat.

Medic was waiting for him when they landed.
“You look rough.”
Wolffe grunted but didn’t say anything. Medic’s sharp eyes watched him for a moment longer before he turned to lead the way to the med bay.
“There was a complication during their last mission. We’re not exactly sure what happened, but her side started pouring blood and by the time they got her here she was coughing it up. I was talking with General Koon, and he believes someone connected with her through the Force and agitated everything. He said he was able to break the connection, and now she just needs to recover. That’s when she started crying for you and he thought it would be best to send you over here.”
Wolffe nodded but couldn’t find any words. The tight feeling in his chest was back, and he was focused on trying to breathe past it. A cold chill racked his body and he couldn’t hide the shiver that slipped down his spine.
She was laid in a bed with the blanket twisted around her legs. He wondered if the withering he had seen when he closed his eyes had happened. He gently reached out and ran a finger down the thick red mark on her arm. When had that one appeared? Instantly, the cold that had been clinging to him seeped out.
“Her fever is finally fading,” Medic was talking mostly to himself, but Wolffe couldn’t help and wonder if his cold was what helped her.
“How long do you think until she wakes up?”
“There’s no way to tell. This situation has too many variables that I’m not aware of for me to give an estimate.”
Wolffe made a noise of understanding as he swung a chair up to the left side of her bed and pulled out his datapad. At least he would finally be able to get some work done now that she wasn’t screaming for him anymore.

It had been hours and eventually he ended up leaning on the side of her mattress to prevent a knot in his back from the uncomfortable chair. He heard a rustle over the top of his head and turned to meet her raised hand and tired eyes.
“Glad to see that you’re rejoining the land of the living. Medic wasn’t sure how long it would take you to come around. Scared every-“
“You came.” He barely heard it, and he barely believed it.
He shook his head as he scoffed. “You called. Of course I came.”
Her hand lifted again to twist around a piece of hair that was getting long. He needed to make time to get a haircut if she could twirl-
“I didn’t think you would.”
That was entirely his fault. He had pushed her away after the bomb and never explained anything about it.
“I will always come.”
And it was just as much of a promise to her as it was a promise to himself.

i mean i know, i know, it's the same garbage and it has been the same for decades -- but it really seems like the NYT has, in the past few years, become way worse than it used to be. that jeanine anez article is really something huh?? that accounting of the lithium coup doesn't even mention lithium. "newspaper of record" must mean they recycle vinyls to print it or something. funny how they only had contacts with her laywer and one other lawyer (don't worry about who he is) to provide quotes from. the NYT is basically a mouthpiece of voice of america at this point, the only news they have to report is politically expeditious for the state. like gosh i sure wonder why they're going the effort to call into question whether this trial is motivated by political opposition. do you think they're trying to preemptively excuse the culpability that the justice dept is about to abdicate by charging trump with nothing after the hearings end or what
