October 2000 and May 2001. The Dark Horse STAR WARS TALES anthology had a very high dross-to-gems ratio, but it did feature one of a handful of SW stories drawn by Argentinian artist Carlos Meglia, best known as the co-creator of CYBERSIX with Carlos Trillo. Originally published in STAR WARS TALES #5, "Lando's Commandos: On Eagle's Wings," written by Ian Edginton, seems to have been intended to kick off a new series focused on Lando Calrissian and a group of misfit pilots doing special missions in the wake of RETURN OF THE JEDI, although it didn't catch on like the Mike Stackpole Rogue Squadron series did. Meglia also drew STAR WARS UNDERWORLD: THE YAVIN VASSILIKA, a five-issue miniseries with Lando, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and various other nefarious characters engaged in a treasure hunt for a mysterious artifact the Hutts are after (whose actual purpose is finally revealed at the end). It's fluff, but it has a sense of humor (dishearteningly rare in the Dark Horse SW comics), and Meglia's fluid, cartoony artwork is a joy.

On the eternal wait for more Cybersix in english, I've decided to pick up Irish Coffee, the first creation of the Trillo/Meglia duo.
Much like Cybersix, Irish Coffee starts publication in Europe then is brought to Argentina where is translated in its totality and later compiled into a singular book, with lots of little extras~. A singular book way outta my budget tho, ppl from 2011 saying that 200 pesos is expensive hurts my soul, shits like 10000 pesos now 😭.
Fortunally, there is another one~
Irish Coffee also had a run on the newspaper Clarin, each sunday of 1997, covering 1999 argentine elections and all the wacky, supernatural things that happen around it as the new millenium approaches.
Since it was published in a national newspaper, it was only a matter of visiting my local and national ✨hemeroteca✨ to read it~
An hemeroteca is a library for newspapers and maganizes. It doesn't really have a word in english lol.
For the time being, I only got june's publications (except one cause im cursed with imcomplete collections lol). The point is that this is free, I'm allowed to have my own archive of this pages and do whatever I want with it.
And what I want is to have it all, maybe even translate it and have it online for all to enjoy.

I don't know how or if this story ties in to the first ones, where our titular Irish is a paranormal detective and wacky stuff happens, or how this goes into Cybersix where he's a psychologist but one day will know~
It'll be long before I can get my hands on the first run of comics but this little investigation will be super fun and will update you on how it goes jsksjsjks
And so the wait has become much more interesting

Concept/Comic Artists Part 1:
Masterlist
BUY ME A COFFEE
Not to be confused with conceptual artists within Art History, to find out more click here. Before deciding that I wished to be an art historian, I very much wished to pursue some type of art making. And I was mostly inspired by the idea generating and development within Concept Art spheres.
Concept Art is mainly used for idea generating within a market, for films or video games, and is used in drawing out designs from a brief and prompt. Comic artists, well that one I believe is self-explanatory (and some comic recommendations). The reason I’m making this post is because I wish to pay homage to my roots and highlight some more contemporary artists rather than dead ones from my Art History lessons.
And a special thank you @willow-dino for helping me! I lost all my notes on this topic, but someone still had theirs.

Carlos Trillo and Carlos Meglia create CyberSix as a comic
Gets a live action tv show then a cartoon series
James Cameron gets "inspired" by it then creates Dark Angel
Jensen Ackles plays a character that has pheromones
Everyone moves on, then Supernatural comes in
Supernatural fans discover Jensen's role in Dark Angel
Supernatural fans create Omegaverse
Omegaverse has latinamerican, specifically argentinian roots Argentinatural is canon and this is not our proudest Coronación de Gloria

May 1984. STAR WARS #83 was one of a number of fill-in issues published following the release of RETURN OF THE JEDI, this time featuring a solo adventure of Lando Calrissian by guest writer Linda Grant, as Lando is roped into aiding an old flame who's now queen of the planet Drogheda and ends up helping to overthrow her instead. A few lines of dialogue suggest that this story takes place after the Battle of Endor, but, as with the following issue's Han Solo outing, it's probably more comfortably positioned at an earlier moment in his career, before the movies, but following the events of the L. Neil Smith novels.
The best parts of this story are the attractive art by Bob McLeod, which has an appealing Kurt Schaffenberger vibe, and the amusing ending, which sets up a sequel that was unfortunately not forthcoming. I wouldn't have minded a followup with Lando and Sarna as bickering con artists, especially if it had been drawn by McLeod. Lando was handled relatively well in the Marvel series, but he only occasionally got the spotlight, and halfway decent Lando solo adventures would become few and far between in later years.
