Okay listen… imagine if craven had been kidnapped not by his master but by Saccharine… I think that would be interesting (just because I love craven and I love saccharine). How do you think they’d interact?? What would they think of each other? ~🐸

craven is used to a highly structured environment with routine and a bunch of instructions. deadlines. attention to detail is super important too

this is perfect for saccharine, who literally provides an environment just like that. routine. rules. tasks to carry out. stuff to learn. attention to detail is everything

now, craven isn't a genius. but he's very smart. he can absorb information quite quickly, and he can put it to use. he will parrot whatever people around him say, because he just wants to fit in, be accepted, and most of all - not hurt

however, he also has anxiety. it's hightened by the electrode system, as he's always waiting for the next shock. he gets very twitchy and flinchy during his time with saccharine

he does well in training, and the praise he recieves in exchange absolutely fuels him. saccharine is very generous with complimenting his progress. he fears nothing more than disappointing her

he makes one (1) attempt at getting out of the pet situation, and that is when he hears zarya and saccharine talking about business and numbers. he was in school studying business and economics. he tries to offer insight and a solution to some problem saccharine is experiencing, and offers to help out. he's hoping not to be sold off at the end of this road, and getting a job like zarya's seems like heaven on earth

saccharine grabs him by the face, squimshes his cheemks, and tells him "don't be silly, [dessert pet name she chose for craven]. i wouldn't trust you any more with my finances than i would a cat. the people can handle the people stuff."

craven secretly hopes her pet business goes bankrupt

eventually, craven gets trained on a schedule, and within half a year, he's sold right off

if he gets a nice owner, he kind of thinks saccharine did good by him by not allowing him to work for her. lounging around in a collar is a much more comfortable life. maybe she knew better all along

if he gets a bad owner, he still doesn't hate saccharine. in fact, he uses her as daydream fuel. he just wants to go back to how it was during his time in training
