Along Came A Spider…2099

Chapter 13- And The Truth Comes To Light…

Your whole body felt heavy and your ribs felt like they were on fire every time you inhaled. You feel as if your back was pressed against something solid.

Her ghoulish green eyes finally look at you and she places the pumpkin down. “Did you know there are over 150 type of pumpkins in the world. Yet here in this country, they’re mostly used as decorations. A pity watching these precious things rot on a stoop. But I found better use of them. This one…this one is going to be my greatest joy.” She kneels down in front of you an grips your face. “The fear in your eyes right now is pretty. Then again, I like to see fear in the eyes of the people I despise.” She lets go and walks away from you.

“Wh…why are you doing this? If this is all because of Miguel and me-“ She laughed throwing her head back. “Tommie, you are looking at all of this but you’re not really seeing the whole picture. This is all going to make sense once you get those memories back.”

“What are you talking about? Dana we can talk about this pl-” She was suddenly in front of your face causing you to jump. “Miguel hasn’t told you anything? Huh, maybe all of his memories aren’t back either. He has told you that he is Spider-man though right?”

How does she know all of this stuff? You wonder as you glance around trying to see if Miguel was around.

“What are you talking about?” You ask trying to fake being confused. “Lying to me won’t save you Tommie. I’ve been watching you. I know how he touches you. I know how he feels about you and oh god…do you know how hard it is to not cave your skull in right now? I just want to hurt you and laugh at your lifeless body. But I have to wait for the right moment or else my plan won’t fall into place. Then again…maybe I can snap your knee cap out of its socket? Nah that’s not good enough.”

You feel that your hands are tied behind your back and you think maybe you can get them loose if she just keeps talking. You catch movement in the corner of your eye and internally you’re happy because you see Miguel in his spider suit.

You had to keep her distracted long enough to let him do a sneak attack or at least until you could get free.

“You’ve been the green goblin this whole time? Why? why would you hurt those people? You almost killed a child.” Dana shrugs. “I honestly just wanted to get to you. Those people? That child? Were just casualties. This is something you need to understand when it comes to Spider-people lore. They will always have a green goblin in their story because the goblin is their demon they have to kill. I became the green goblin just to haunt Miguel. But I didn’t want to stop there. No, no, I wanted to seep into the back of your mind and make you hate your own existence.”

As she monologues Miguel makes eye contact with you and nods.

“And how were you going to do that?” You ask as she goes to turn but she stops and faces you completely. “By taking your heroes away. Your parents, they died in a car crash back on I-97. You were hmm thirteen at the time…”

How the fuck did she-

“You’re thinking how does this bitch know that? I know because I was there. I won’t get into the complicated details just know that your parents are far too trusting to young girls on the side of the road. They didn’t see it coming. You had no clue you had such super human strength, but you dislocated your own wrist and you punched her clean in the nose, causing a huge crunch on contact. From your knuckle or her nose? You don’t know.

But what you did know was you saw red.

“You son of a fucking bitch! I’ll kill you!” You yell as you tackle her to the ground. Dana was laughing as you swung on her. You feel someone rip you away from her.

Everything seemed to be moving fast. One second you’re being ripped away from Dana and the next you’re being pushed out the way. When you blink you see what happened.

Dana had somehow launched a hovering device with spikes in the front and it was aimed for you. However Miguel pushed you out of the way and he was pierced in his shoulder, pinning him to the wall.

“No!” You get up to help him but you get yanked back. Dana was holding you from behind and she was laughing. “Don’t you just love a man in uniform?”

“Get off of her, Dana! I should’ve known you were the green goblin the whole time.” Miguel said as he rips his mask off. “Awe but Miguel I wasn’t don’t playing with her. But now that you’re here, I can show her what you’ve been hiding. Tommie take a deep breathe for me.”

The next second she had thrown a strange black powder in your face. Your reaction was to inhale and as the powder enters your air ways you heard Miguel scream.

Dana lets you and you sway on your feet until your knees give out. You fall on your side and the powder causes a foaming reaction in your throat.

You try to spit it up but your body feels weak. You lay on the ground and you see Miguel had ripped himself away from the wall and he had punched Dana in her face.

You then look up into the sky and that is when you see a strange glowing light…

Earth-957

The lights in the building were oddly bright as you ran to your office. “I’m late, I am so late. Out of all the days for my car to break down.” You mutter as you turn the corner.

You almost collide into Erica and she holds her hands up. “Whoa T, if you run any faster there’s gonna be a collision.” She jokes as you catch your breath. “Sorry! My dad had to give me a ride over. My car had broke down, but he said he would fix it.”

“I could’ve gave you a ride you know.” Erica says as the two of you walk down the hall. “I know but I didn’t want to bother you since you just came back from maternity leave. How is DJ anyways?”

“She is doing great. She’s finally sleeping through the night. Dennis is already scheduling her first dental appointment.” She says rolling her eyes. “I need to come by and see her. I’ll bring a gift. Maybe a stuffed animal?” You suggest. “That would be great. I’m sur…”

You glance at the main room where a few of the scientists are and someone had caught your eye. You didn’t even notice that you had stopped walking and you were just staring.

“E, who is that?” You whisper to her. She turns around and walks back over looking at who you were staring at without shame. “Oh the brooding guy in the corner? That’s Miguel O’Hara. He just started working here a while ago. I hear he keeps to himself though.”

You see by his profile how handsome he is. “He’s cute.” You say as you keep staring. “Alright enough ogling him. If he catches you staring he might get a restraining order on you.” Erica says as she tugs you away from the glass.

Miguel suddenly looks over and you duck down. “Look at you. Get up!” Erica grabs you and pulls you away. But as you do you look back and Miguel was staring back at you…

It was after work and you were on the phone with your mom at the bus stop. It was pouring rain and your mother was trying to come and get you but she was stuck in traffic. “Mom, it’s okay I can wait for the bus it should be here in a few minutes.” You look down the street and see a silver car drive past you.

You had accidentally bumped into your water bottle that you had sitting on the bench beside you. “Mom I’ll call you back.” You slide your phone in your pocket and you go to reach for the bottle but it rolls into the street.

The silver car drives past and you step back. The person inside gets out of the car and picks up the water bottle, handing it to you. When you look up you’re met with a pair of hazel eyes.

“Would you like a ride?” Miguel had asked. You were about to decline but stop yourself. “Sure.” He takes his jacket and puts it over you so you don’t get wet and he leads you into his car. He walks around and gets in as well.

“Thank you. I normally have my car but my dad is fixing it. Hopefully not now because then he would get hurt, you know from the rain and the car parts being exposed. Oh um I hope you don’t think I get into cars with strangers all the time. But I feel like I can trust you.”

“I’m just happy to give you a ride, Tommie.” Your face lights up. “You know my name?” You can see his cheeks redden. “Sí. pero solo porque-I mean.” You stop him. “It’s okay I know Spanish, Miguel. And I know your name because the women in this company talk about you. Nothing bad I promise.”

His smile looked genuine.

“I am Miguel O’Hara. It is nice to formally meet you Tommie Valentine. And now I’m curious. Qué se dijo de mí?”

“Just that you’re broody, and you’re new. Oh and you might be single.” You throw that last part in there but then you notice he’s still holding your hand.

“I wouldn’t say I’m new, I just dropped down in positions.”

And if you ever need help…I’m available.” You flirt. “Oh I will take you up on that offer…to help me in the lab I mean.” You can see Miguel’s lip curl into a smile and you two continue with the conversation as you tell him where to go.

When he gets to your place you sit there not wanting to leave and you feel as though he feels the same. “Well this is my stop…” Miguel looks past you and nods. “That’s a nice place you got there.”

“It is, well I should get going.” You say as you continue to sit. “I could walk you inside, you know just to be sure it’s safe.” Miguel offers making your face light up. “Yeah, I would love that. Oh, I wouldn’t suppose I could interest you in coming inside? I made a pretty big tres leches cake, and it’s only going to go to waste.”

“Funny, I actually love tres leches cake.”

“Would you look at that. I can pay you back for the ride with my goodies.” You wince because that sounded terrible out loud. He simply laughs and he leans over unbuckling your seatbelt. “No me importaría probar tus golosinas.”

Miguel opens the door and Xavier claps his hands reaching for his father. “Hola papa. Come here.” Miguel picks him up and gives you a kiss. “You said you’d be home in fifteen minutes, baby. What did you do? Fly?”

“I power walked.” You rolled your eyes at Miguel and he gives Xavier kisses all over his face causing him to laugh. “Mama! No!” Miguel places him down but Xavier clings to his leg. “Mama up!”

“Say papa.” Miguel has been trying to get Xavier to call him papa but so far Xavier just keeps calling everyone mama since you were his first words. “Mama.” Miguel sighs but picks him up. “Un día dirás papá.” Miguel says as he looks at Xavier. Xavier just smiles and looks over at you.

“I’ll be careful, mi amor for you and for him.” Miguel kisses Xavier on his head and he kisses you on your lips. “Baby, if…if this doesn’t work. I just want you home with us. I just want you home.” You tell him as you grab his hand. “Amor, I will fix this. Don’t worry. I always save the day.”

He lets your hand go and Lyla tells him that the threat of this situation just spiked. “Come on, papa. Let’s go to the lab so papa can save the day.” Xavier just leans his head on your chest and points to Miguel saying mama in a sleepy tone.

You grab a bag for your son just in case and you head down the hall, and towards a door that lead to the lab Miguel had built the second year after you two had gotten married.

You look back one more time at your husband and he touches his wrist causing his Spider suit to form to his body. He tells Lyla to open a portal to the main source and you close the door behind you…

It wasn’t suppose to be this way. It wasn’t suppose to end up like this. You made sure to keep calm for your son but you were scared.

You watched on the news that the portals were getting more frequent. You look down at your son and he was sleeping in your arms. “I don’t know what to do, but I know that if…if anything happens I will make sure you are safe, that you are loved. I will make sure we stay together because you are my world, Xavier C O’Hara. And I know your father? Your father will find us. Because he is Spider-man, and he had beat the impossible before.” You sniffle back the tears and you tap your wrist.

“Yes Tommie?” You had called up Lyla and you wipe your face. “Lyla, how is he?” Lyla gives a head shake. “He is doing his best, he’s found that the portal source came from Earth-199999. He’s trying to shut it down but it’s with some difficulty.” You look down at your sleeping son and then back at Lyla.

“Lyla, I don’t know when a portal will come for us, but when it does and I know it will. Make sure Miguel finds us.”

“Tommie don’t talk like that. Miguel is going to stop this.” Lyla says in a slight panic. You smile sadly at her. “Miguel said it was unnecessary to create you with feelings but I think that’s your best feature because you care. Now I know my husband has faced the impossible and he’s beat it time after time but I’m not him. I’m not a super being. I’m just a wife and a mother and the best I can do is prepare him. These portals are other dimensions that are spreading across this earth. Make sure…make sure he doesn’t forget us. Make sure he finds us and make sure when he does that he lets me figure it out. I don’t want my other self to freak out and regret him. Because Miguel is the best thing that’s happened in my life and I want him happy.” You smile through the tears and you feel the vibration in the air.

“No! I’ll go get him! I’ll get him here now!” Lyla dematerializes and you look up. You can feel the portal coming for you. Maybe if you’re lucky you can start over with Miguel. You can have a reset and have those happy moments with the man you’ve loved since you seen him brooding in the corner at work all those years ago.

“God I’m so proud of the man he’s become.” You say as you hear Miguel calling you. You stand up and he ran into the lab. As he reached for you you, you feel your molecules vibrating. His hand had passed through you and Xavier.

“You’ve done a good job, I want you to know that, Miguel.” You hold back the tears as your husband keeps trying to reach for you. “No, no, no. I can fix this amor I can fix this.” The panic in his voice was heartbreaking.

“Baby, I know you’ll fix this. But remember what I told you, when you came home covered in blood? That you some times you won’t be able to do it all. You’ll have those days where you’ll have to choose. I want you to save the world.”

“The world means nothing if you and Xavier aren’t in it. Por favor, no te vayas, mi amor. Just stay. I can fix this, everything will be back to normal.” If you could hug your husband you would but a flicker happens above you and you feel the portal about to take you.

“Miguel, I’m still proud of you, you’ve done great things. That angry person you thought you’d be forever? He’s not here in front of me. You make me so proud to be your wife. Now stand up and save the world. When you’re done, my love…come find me. I’ll be waiting in the universe for you.”

And just like that, you and your son were taken by the portal, leaving your husband behind..

You seen it all. You see every multiverse of yourself meeting Miguel, being together, falling in love and having happiness. You two are cannon lovers in the universe.

But one, one universe, Earth 616, he was with Dana. They were together, they were happy. He was going to marry her until you ran after a baby bottle that belonged to a baby. It fell into the street and a car had almost hit you. Miguel was wearing his Spider Suit when he saved you.

The moment your eyes had locked, it was set in motion that you two were meant to be.

Miguel left her for you and you two were going to be happy. But Dana, because she had a brilliant and dangerous mind she had came up with an idea that would make her life better. And that included having Miguel.

With her inheritance, she had hired the best scientist in Alchemax to create a device that would open up a portal where you didn’t exist. Where she could be happy. But you existed, every single earth, every single dimension you existed and that had twisted Dana’s mind to the point where it snapped.

With the Super Collider, she had decided she was going to ruin your life just like how you ruined hers. She picked a world where you didn’t have anything established yet. That mattered to her. She sent her consciousness to that world where she would became the villain of the story all because you took the life she had.

She figured if you didn’t have the loving parents, the tech engineering career, and Miguel she could easily drive you insanity, just to the point where you would end yourself.

Every bad thing that happened in your youth up to your adult life was planned out for her to hurt you.

Those nightmares? She caused them. Those moments you felt as if you were being watched? She did that. Those nights in your youth where you contemplated on ending it all, she was the reason behind that all because she had a glimpse of happiness and it was snatched away from her.

You lay there on the ground processing everything you know, and you felt bad for Dana but you felt anger because she just took and took from you just to benefit herself.

You turn to the side and you throw up what was in your mouth. You sit up carefully and you see Miguel had Dana pinned to the wall, her mouth bleeding but a smile still in her face.

“…I know you want to do it, Miguel. I know you want to kill me so what are you waiting for? Don’t be the hero, be the man who got his happy ending!” She yells in his face. Miguel had raised his claws to her throat. You can see in his blood red eyes he wanted nothing more than to rip her throat open and watch her bleed out.

“If you think you’re going to get away with what you’ve done to not just me but to her? Then you are mistaken, Dana. Death is too good for you, but I know the perfect place for you to go.” Miguel webs her up tight and drops her on the ground.

“You’re making a mistake! Any chance I get Miguel I will make her life a living hell! You were mine! And you will be mine if you allow me to live. I will never give you a moments rest. I will keep coming and coming until I have snapped that bitches neck! I will hurt your future, I will hurt your children! I will cause you misters because you are mine!” Her eyes were so green they almost looked white.

As Miguel turned his back to her he went to you and you stand on wobbly legs. He reaches out towards you and that’s when you see Dana kicking the pumpkin she had sat down earlier.

A strange smell was coming from it and you knew that smell. You’ve mixed those chemicals by accident in high school and it caused the lab equipment to explode. “Miguel watch out!” You get up, using the last bit of the adrenaline you had left and you launched yourself over the soon to be exploding pumpkin.

“No! Don’t stop! This is the best part!” Dana and flung her self onto you and you both tussle until you both go flying off the roof.

You never known you could see your life flash before your eyes like that. Let alone every single one of them. You see Dana laughing as she falls to her untimely demise. And you look up to see the love of your life launch himself after you.

You reach your hand out, praying to God that he will catch you. You were begging for time to stop so this man would get to you. But as you stare in horror you feel your life slipping from his grasp.

Miguel shoots his web at you and just when you feel as if you’re safe…

You hear a snap…

ooh ok! Wednesday fandom, let's go!

My favorite characters are Wednesday, Enid, and Eugene! My least favorites are Xavier, the teacher lady along with Enid's blood family. Hmmmm, my favorite ships are Wenclair, Wenclay, and Morticia x Gomez! A character I'd be REALISTICALLY be friends with is Eugene. I don't really find any of the characters attractive LIKE THAT or marry worthy because idk their ages so lemme not be creepy😭 an unpopular opinion i have..... Bianca and Lucas got done DIRTY, like T*m B*rton was not HIDING his racism! I don't really have a canon OTP in this show, and non-canon, probably Wenclair. Most badass character was DEFINITELY Wednesday and Enid. A villain i like was probably Tyler. I am NOT A FAN of the love triangle they put Wednesday through. Characters that the writers screwed up were probably ALL THE TEENAGE BOYS. Character i most identify with, probably all the female characters tbh, and I don't wanna be any of the characters.

Now let's go to Huntlow, MY BELOVEDS!!!

I started shipping them when s2 was still airing, around when LR came out. I have WAYYY TOO MANY thoughts about them, so I'm gonna spare you😭 what about them makes me happy is their interesting dynamic ESPECIALLY since TOH got shortened!! What makes me sad is that they could've gotten more than just off-screen and background moments PLUS they don't deserve the hate they get! Things done in fanfic that annoy me is when they ONLY focus on Hunter, make both of them OOC, and make suggestive/NSFW stuff. Things that I look for in fanfic is both of them being in-character and when BOTH characters get enough focus! IDK much of my wishes for them, and I don't want either of them to end up with someone else if not with each other, sorry! Happily ever after for them is more not-so-subtle hints that they both are into each other, like blushing and flirting, if not confirmation that they both are crushing on each other or that they end up dating at the end of the show! OR IF DANA IS ALLOWED TO MAKE HER COMICS and she can put more crumbs of them!

and lastly, my boy Mattholomule!!!

I love him, he's so skrunkly! Romantic ships with him... GUSTHOLOMULE BABYYYYY, GAY RIGHTS!!! My favorite non-romantic relationship with him, him and Steve IF WE HAD GOTTEN THEM ON-SCREEN UUGGGHHHHH! my unpopular opinion about him is that I like what they did with him in TTLGR and the crumbs they gave us of him in 2B, BUT I WANT MORE! Something that I had wanted for him to happen in canon is to be around Steve, do that construction magic he was originally gonna do in the season finale, and hang out with Gus more!!! Favorite friendship, him with Gus again, I'm so predictible🙄 Lastly, I don't have a crossover ship with him!

What do you like about each of the BATTS/Raine's adopted kids? Do you have a favorite?

Ok is this the BATTS or Raines adopted kids? I'm gonna answer for the latter, cause they have more adopted kids than just the three!

And it's gonna get long so I'll put it under the cut!

Amber: Sweet baby girl. I love and adore her. She strikes me as the kind of person who acts mean at first because she's been hurt in the past (likely by her parents), but she also gets attached quickly when shown the slightest amount of affection from a potential parental figure. Hence her reaction to Eda (from "I don't think she'd be a good fit" to "BYE MAMA EDA!")

Katya: My giiiiirl! You write your fanfics baby I love you!! I'm so glad she came back to be a more important part of the story! I loved her in the first episode, so seeing her again as part of the BATTS was so awesome! She deserves to write about food and food being in love! While toppling the empire!

Derwin: The lad! I love his design, and his little two handed wave when he met Luz was so sweet! He strikes me as the strong but silent type, preferring actions over words. But he's still a silly goofy guy! He's just quiet about it! And this it total headcanon, but I imagine he had a bit of a rough life that lead him to his quiet disposition, likely bullying and mistreatment from his school mates or those who thought the Bard Coven was dumb. But he's a fighter, he's sweet, and he loves his found family with all his heart!

Luz: Sweet baby girl I love her so much pls Dana let her be happy!!! I love Luz as a character, the way she's grown, the way she interacts with the world around her, the way she accepted the boiling isles and all it's wild magical danger, and still changed it so much! She made friends, which lead to the entire day of unity being taken down. She reunited Eda and Lilith which lead to Belos's reign (I didn't say all the changes were good). She started dating Amity which lead to her gf's parents divorce! :D She's just such a strong, loving, caring, crafty, creative, amazing character. I love her endlessly!

King: He is baby. Pls protecc him. He's just a little guy!! He's been going through so much pls Dana! Now, King wasn't my favorite character when I first saw him. I thought he was cute, and endearing in an annoying younger sibling way. But he's grown so much, and he's such a caring kid. He wanted to be a king, but he became so much more. I love his brief friendship with Steve, and I wish they could have explored it more. I love his relationships with his family, and I really hope he and the others reunite soon.

And this one isn't exactly supported by canon yet, but I'm counting it.

Hunter: SWEET SON BOY LOVE OF MY LIFE BAD BUT SAD BOY I LOVE YOOOOOU! Ahem. Yes. Anyways. I adore Hunters character. He went from an intimidating presence in the shadows, to an awkward, shy, but caring lad just wanting a chance to find himself amidst all the chaos in his life. He deserves the world, and I'm gonna give it to him. In my own way. He's so expressive, and fun, and I love how he still trys to be intimidating, but he just can't pull it off like he used to.

SO! In terms of favorites...

Favorite of the BATSS: A tie between Derwin and Amber. Idk I just love them. Though it might be my headcanons talking.

Favorite adopted kid: Hunter, cause I love my son boy.

thoughts on “For the Future” in no particular order

let’s rip the band-aid off: apart from like one or two scenes, to me this special felt like a giant waste of time. very little of what we were told we didn’t already know. like oh, the Collector is an all-powerful child? Belos is gigantic, rotting sack of shit? everyone is scrambling through pretty much the apcalypse? those are all things we’ve known about since “King’s Tide”

Belos really should have been defeated in “Thanks to Them”. literally nothing would change if he was already dead by the time Luz’ team entered the Demon Realm. “what about the Collector spying on King?” funny you should ask, since we already had the perfect character to push him into that direction: Odalia. she was vying for his attention and more power the whole time, you’re telling me she wouldn’t be jumping at the chance to dethrone King as his best friend and confidant by tattling to Collector about his, Eda’s and Lillith’s plans? instead we have Belos stealing screentime away from characters who were desperately in need of it (Willow, Gus) for basically no reason. what did we find out about Belos in FtF that wasn’t already obvious? we know he’s an old bigoted asshole who will never change. we know he’s more monster than man at this point. we know he’s a manipulative scumbag who preys on easily influenced minds. I honestly don’t know what Dana is planning to do with him in “Watching and Dreaming”, he’s seriously overstayed his welcome as a villain

I cannot be the only one who didn’t buy that the heroes were struggling against freaking Kikimora??? Literally all that makes her threatening is her giant slime-robot. just pull her out of there and then punt her into the Boiling Sea like a football. Willow could’ve just plucked her out of the cockpit with a vine and that could’ve been it. but no, instead we need an entire sideplot about Kikimora trying to take over Hexside as some sort of mini-Belos

Camila continues to be best mom, she tries so hard, she just wants Luz to be happy and for the other kids to be safe, i’m gonna cry

Lumity continues to serve, even with small moments. Luz blushing at her awesome girlfriend being pretty gave me life

not a big fan of how Willow and Gus were pushed to the background to provide more character development for Hunter. Willow had a whole arc about discovering how powerful she actually was and gaining confidence, and it culminates in her having to be saved and told what she already knows by a white boy. thanks, I hate it

hey, quick question: why was Luz’ group so nerfed this episode??? some of the most talented witches of their generation, on par with the Emperor’s Coven, and they get pushed around by freaking Kikimora and Bosha???? no. Kiki and Bosha should have been reduced to smears on the floor as soon as they tried to start shit. Luz and her friends were beating the crap out of Belos one episode ago, why are these two even remotely treated as a threat????

I immensely enjoyed the Collector as an antagonist, they’re just a small child, but he’s a very powerful child and that’s a disastrous but also weirdly adorable combination. his bond with King was also surprisingly heartwarming. I really would have liked it if Dana went in the direction of just having King be the responsible angel on Collector’s shoulder who eventually gets them to see he can’t just treat people like toys. but nah, let’s have Belos as the villain. again.

King, smol child. he’s trying his best, I feel so sorry for him.

is it weird that I unironically love the makeover Collector’s been giving the Boiling Isles? maybe it’s just me being a sucker for the space and stars aesthetic. and brightly colored horror.

lol neither one of us expected this to be 1400 words long but here we are.

So my first and most honest take on Mulder and Scully in season 6 is just that the writers were playing the game more that season. They spent five years subverting the Hollywood idea that two people who love each other have to act like they hate each other, and then the show moved to L.A. and the writers were like okay! It’s trope time! And they dropped a cow through Mulder’s roof so there would only be one motel bed for him to share with Scully. I respect the game. It’s my favorite season. But it’s a big shift from the way Mulder and Scully were written before, and it really only works because the season winds up being thematically cohesive enough to justify it, to a degree that was probably sometimes intentional and other times definitely not. Like in Arcadia I think we can all agree the writers were simply men making bad jokes about marriage.

But in the big picture, so much of the season supports the idea that Mulder and Scully are backsliding because they’re fighting the next stage of their relationship. I’ve said this before, but I think the hallway confession in Fight the Future is massive for Mulder and Scully in season 6. Way bigger than Diana. Scully says it in the season premiere: When Mulder told her that he needs her to be his scientist, the lesson she took from that was that she can’t change. The whole season thematically is about the two of them being afraid to let themselves change each other or admit they already have, because they’re afraid that if they stop being the Skeptic and Believer they stop working. They don’t want to risk losing each other. But they can’t be in a relationship if they can’t be changed by each other. So they’re stuck in this terrible limbo, and they’re not happy about it, especially because they’re already at a point where the roles they’re playing don’t fit them anymore. And at a macro level that’s honestly some of the best justification for “will they/won’t they” screwball comedy fanservice I’ve ever heard.

I love all the ways the season plays with Mulder and Scully’s anxiety. In Dreamland Mulder gets trapped in traditional married life; in Arcadia Scully signs them up for it and all he does is mock her; in The Rain King they keep getting mistaken for a couple. They’re always having to confront these domestic expectations. Neither one of them wants that life, but they were both kind of bred to expect it: Mulder the Martha’s Vineyard kid, Scully the sacrificial military wife. That’s part of what they’re struggling with: They don’t have a blueprint for what being a couple will look like for them, and they keep having these visions of the worst possible ending. “Getting out of the car” isn’t even a line until Dreamland, but Drive is literally “if Mulder gets out of the car, will someone die?” Do they die without each other (Tithonus) or because of each other (How the Ghosts)?

A lot of people have written so well about the motifs of this season. @iconicscullyoutfits pointed out how many season 6 episodes involve resets (How the Ghosts), usually with memory wipes (Dreamland, Monday) and dreams (Triangle, Field Trip). The message is that Mulder and Scully can’t move forward if they can’t get out of their own heads. (Field Trip pulls it all together by putting them in each other’s heads.) @foxmulders brought up how season 6 keeps telling Mulder and Scully they’re fated to live and die together (Triangle, Monday, How the Ghosts) but still forces them to choose each other on purpose, and I think a lot of the season lives in that tension between knowing something and still having to choose it. And @thegrotesckque has a great take on how Field Trip resolves the “getting out of the car” question (is it a betrayal for Scully and Mulder? Is it a betrayal for the show?) by proving that they’re better as a team when they stop playing Skeptic and Believer anyway. That’s what saves them.

All of that is so much better than whatever the show is trying to do with Diana. She’s not written well enough to explain why Mulder is so loyal to her (but is written just badly enough to justify Scully’s animosity lol). The X-Files doesn’t care about Diana as a person or even about her relationship with Mulder and how it affects him; it’s not like being burned by Diana brings up Mulder’s trust issues later in the season. They just wanted Scully to be jealous. It’s the weakest trope in a very tropey season; they threw in a love triangle and then immediately stopped caring about it, and not in a funny “no one else stands a chance” kind of way, although obviously yeah, no one else stands a chance.

But Diana isn’t the point. Even if she were better written she wouldn’t be Mulder and Scully’s biggest problem, because all of the interesting episodes of the season are about how Mulder and Scully are their own biggest problem. Diana just weaponizes those insecurities. Like, yes “you’re making this personal” is so rude it’s comical and Mulder is a jerk to Scully about Diana and Diana is a snob, and you can see all of that contributing to why Mulder and Scully are on edge with each other in the first half of the season. But it’s not like either one of them actually thinks Diana might be better for Mulder than Scully is. They’re just afraid they’ll let her stand in their way.

If I wanted to really give the Diana arc the benefit of the doubt, it would go like this: Diana is a catalyst for Scully to realize how much she wants to feel wanted. Mulder takes Scully for granted, and I’m usually kind of charmed by that (I know) because he trusts her so much. He’s so comfortable with her (@wtfmulder has written about this). But when Diana shows up and he starts siding with Diana over Scully, it hurts, especially because he never gives her a good reason. Really I think he’s just loyal and handling it badly. He sides with Diana because that’s the relationship he thinks needs defending right now. We talk a lot about the power imbalance in Scully’s previous relationships, but from the way Mulder behaves around his old girlfriends it seems like he’s been overpowered just as much. This is the first equal relationship for both of them.

It’s just wild that they put themselves through so much because it’s so simple. Of course Mulder loves Scully. He tells her so. But I think Dana “oh brother” Scully is right that he’s not ready to do anything about it, because if he were he’d be making her feel desired. He can say “I love you” on painkillers, but he can’t even ask her to dance in Kroner. He makes bad jokes to deflect (hence all of Arcadia). He’s just as overwhelmed as Scully is by the weight of what they are. I think in early season 6 they both still need the song and dance that gives them plausible deniability: him stealing her car keys and her insisting that she really should be getting home. And if Mulder has a hard time earnestly pursuing her, I think Scully also has a harder time than she’d admit letting herself be pursued. They’ve been kicked off the X-files. In a way just spending time together is so much more intentional than it used to be. Everything means more.

I don’t think they start to get their act together until Milagro, when Scully lets go of her desire to be pursued. The show’s method is bad—Dana Scully is never allowed to learn a lesson until her body is put in danger—but I think David Duchovny mostly saved it by making sure Mulder learns something too. Even if he had no idea what would happen right before The Unnatural, the way the episodes fall is perfect. Mulder finally figures out that Scully wants him to want to spend time with her outside work. It only took six full years.

And then because they are very zero to sixty I think there’s a good chance they start doing IVF, like, right after that. Love that journey for them. If they started IVF before Mulder read Scully’s mind, he must have been insufferably needy. Maybe that’s why they’re so short with each other in Field Trip; they’re trying to make a baby and they need supernatural intervention to process it. It takes a literal religious revelation to convince Mulder and Scully it’s okay to hook up.

How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

Professor Layton, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Lord of the Rings are the ones I’ve written the most for. I’ve also written a few stories for Rune Factory, Ace Attorney, Astro Boy, Ouran High School Host Club, Marvel, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

The Open Jar, Golden Child, Ambivalence, The Duality of Homunculi, and Responsibilities. They’re all FMA stories; I’m kind of sad that none of the PL stories are on top, since I think I improved a lot since writing the FMA ones, but it all comes down to fandom size, I think.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

These days, I always do, even if it’s just a short “Thanks so much for reading, I’m so glad you liked it!” I’m just really grateful that somebody would take the time to read the story and bother to say something. It takes a lot of energy to leave a comment sometimes, even a short one, and saying thank you for that is the least that I can do. I had pretty bad depression about two and a half years ago and took a big social media break for about six months; I didn’t respond to any comments during that time. I feel pretty bad about it now, and sometimes I think about responding, but it was so long ago that I feel awkward replying now.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Maybe that OHSHC fic “Funeral” I wrote years ago where Tamaki gets… shot and dies??? Why did I write that…??? I intended to write a follow-up where he didn’t actually die and recovers, but I never did, so the fic seems to end with him dying. That’s one of the cringe fics that I kind of want to delete now :’) Second-closest (and one that I actually like/don’t find too cringey) is my recent Clora fic “Almost Lost,” which ends with a lot of crying, but it isn’t a tragedy and their crisis is averted.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not exactly. I did get a couple of comments with criticisms on FF.net years ago, but nothing horrible. Sometimes people vaguepost about how Clora is Bad after I post something, haha, but that’s pretty much the extent of it thankfully... I’d probably cry if I actually got a hate comment adsjhkdsaf... :’)

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Asdfhjkadfasdlfaf no. I get so embarrassed even writing about kissing. I’d someday like to write something that actually deserves the T rating that I give to a lot of my ship fics, but I don’t think that I could write anything higher-rated than that, and it’ll probably take me a long time to work up to that.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don’t think so!

Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, not to my knowledge. If someone wanted to, though, that would be neat!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

A long time ago, my friend and I wrote a very silly LOTR fic where we would alternate writing chapters, with no planning whatsoever. Unfortunately, I haven’t heard from her in years; I wish we could have finished the fic, even if it was garbage adskjhdsf… I miss her. More recently, my friend and I have been co-writing (or at least brainstorming) a Clora story (costarring a cherished OC) set twenty years after UF. Even if the fic takes forever to actually come together, we’ve come up with so many great ideas and it’s been loads of fun.

What's your all time favorite ship?

Clora’s definitely my all-time favourite. There have been a few others that are really special to me, but honestly, Clora has everything I want in a ship. They have so much potential for fluff and angst, and they can get SO much character development together. (and I really relate to/adore both characters sdjkhsadf…) The ship does get hate and that does discourage me at times, but they feel really rewarding to write about; I feel like I’m solving a puzzle whenever I get one step closer to having them get a happy ending together. Nobody had written about them since like… 2016 until I started last year, so I’m really glad that a few other people who also liked the ship have something to read again now.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Some of my old FMA WIPs… I’m not really into FMA or the characters/ship I used to write for anymore, and I kind of feel like I won’t ever get that kind of passion for the series again, although I still have some good memories of it. Every so often, though, I get a really nice comment on one of them and wish that I could finish them for those peoples’ sake.

What are your writing strengths?

Once I’ve found what emotion I’m going for, I think that I’m fairly good at keeping it consistent throughout a whole fic. I think that I’m also okay at being sympathetic to most characters, even ones that I don’t really like; it feels awful when somebody spitefully writes about my favourite characters, and I don’t want anyone to feel that way when reading my stuff. I think that I’m good at writing about… longing or yearning too, haha… not so good at writing established relationship stuff adshjksfd but I’m getting better.

What are your writing weaknesses?

So much… The biggest thing is getting myself to write at all. I just get so easily overwhelmed, distracted, or discouraged and give up. It takes me forever to write just a oneshot, let alone multichapter stories. I’m also quite bad at planning ahead… I plan major moments in a story, but often, the in-between bits are surprises to me. I do enjoy how my characters kind of take me on a ride and surprise me, but sometimes I find myself written into a corner. I also overexplain. So many of my chapters wind up so long because I feel like I have to explain every little detail.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I’ve never done much of that when writing about real-life languages, but I used to throw in the random Sindarin word in my LotR fics, such as calling someone’s father “Ada,” since that was common in LotR fics back then. If I was to do it now, though, I’d probably only include dialogue in another language if it was immediately translated to English afterwards, like someone explaining what a sentence meant, but I wouldn’t throw in random words unless it was a character’s normal habit to mix languages.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

The Lorax, but it was super cringe, and I deleted the fic… Funnily enough, it wasn’t even about the onceler, it was about my OC dad for him.

My official first fandom in my mind is Lord of the Rings/Tolkien in general. I was a very awkward and excitable teenager, new to the internet, and met a lot of kids on FF.net who were as awkward as me by commenting on their very silly fics/writing very silly fics similar to theirs to try to impress them. I had so much fun and made a lot of friends that way, although I’ve lost touch with almost all of them, sadly… I really miss them. The fics are all on my FF.net profile still, but I don’t recommend most of them aJSDKsdf… Those were the days before I was an angst addict and everything I wrote was ridiculous. Right now, probably Bright Saffron Dreams… I put so much love and energy into that one, and it has so many tropes that I like in it. If I’d been brave enough to make it slightly more overtly romantic, it would have been exactly what I wanted in a Clora fic, haha...

More Basic Basics of Ancient Greek: How to pray the ancient way

So you’re a Hellenic polytheist, and you’ve decided to add a touch of history to your prayers: you want to say them, or part of them, in Ancient Greek. While this is by no means a requirement - the Gods will surely understand you no matter which language you speak - Ancient Greek in prayer and ritual can function like a liturgical language, and can make you feel closer to those who first practised this religion. But where to start? Which words to use? This post is here to help.

The following words and phrases are all drawn from ancient texts, ranging from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. (If you're curious about where a certain phrase appears, you’re welcome to send me an ask.) Pick the ones that resonate most with you, try them out, and have fun!

Pro tip: before we start, I recommend that you get familiar with the alphabet and standard pronunciation, and for more versatility, check out the basics of Greek grammar and how the case system works.

However, if it’s all too much for you, skip to the end where I’ll offer a few templates ready for you to use!

Greetings and invocations

The most common Ancient Greek greeting, which you might’ve encountered before, is χαῖρε. When addressing several people or Gods, it’s χαίρετε. It literally means “rejoice!” and has a similar usage to “hail”, “salve/salvete” or simply “hi”.

In the Iliad 23.179, Achilles greets Patroclus’ dead soul with the phrase χαῖρέ μοι, ὦ Πάτροκλε, καὶ εἰν Ἀίδαο δόμοισι: I greet you (litt. “rejoice for me”), Patroclus, even in the home of Hades.

However, in prayers and hymns, χαῖρε/χαίρετε is less common as a greeting than as a farewell. A more common formula is κλυθί μοι: this means “listen to me”. When addressing several deities, use the plural form κλῦτε μοι.

The next thing you will need is the name of the deity or deities, in the vocative. This is the most important part: many prayers skip χαῖρε and κλυθί μοι and start directly with the deity. As in the quote above, the name can be preceded by ὦ, which is the equivalent of English “O”.

Here are the names of major Hellenic deities (nominative) with their forms in the vocative:

Ζεύς (Zeus): Ζεῦ

Ἥρα/Ἥρη (Hera): same as nominative

Ποσειδών (Poseidon): Πόσειδον

Δημήτηρ (Demeter): Δήμητερ

Ἀΐδης (Hades): Ἀΐδη

Ἑστία/Ἑστίη (Hestia): same as nominative

Ἀθηνᾶ/Ἀθήνη (Athena): same as nominative

Ἑρμῆς (Hermes): Ἑρμῆ

Ἄρτεμις (Artemis): Ἄρτεμι

Ἀπόλλων (Apollon): Ἄπολλον

Ἥφαιστος (Hephaistos): Ἥφαιστε

Διόνυσος (Dionysos): Διόνυσε

Ἄρης (Ares): Ἄρες

Περσεφόνη (Persephone): same as nominative

Bonus: in both nominative and vocative, God is θεός, Goddess is θεά, Gods is θεοί, and Goddesses is θεαί.

To invoke two or more deities, use και, τε και or τε... τε, which all mean “and”, e.g.: Ἄρτεμι καὶ Ἄπολλον, Ζεῦ τε καὶ Ἥρη, Δημήτηρ τε Περσεφόνη τε.

Another option is καλέω, “I call”, or κικλῄσκω, “I summon”. If you choose one of these, you will need the name of the deity and their epithets in the accusative, not in the vocative as above. (If you have trouble figuring out a certain deity’s name, let me know.)

Epithets

After calling upon the deity, you will need to qualify them using one or more epithets. These will need to be in the same case as the deity’s name (vocative or accusative, depending on the formula you chose). The Theoi Project provides lists of epithets for each deity which you may want to look through. Make sure to choose aspects and areas appropriate to your request, as in the following examples:

ἀλλ᾽ ἄγ᾽ Ἐλευσῖνος θυοέσσης δῆμον ἔχουσα / καὶ Πάρον ἀμφιρύτην Ἀντρῶνά τε πετρήεντα, / πότνια, ἀγλαόδωρ᾽, ὡρηφόρε, Δηοῖ ἄνασσα: but now, you who hold the people of sweet-smelling Eleusis, and Paros encircled by sea and rocky Antron, lady, giver of beautiful gifts, bringer of seasons, queen Deo (Homeric Hymn to Demeter 490-492)

The Homeric Hymn to Demeter is concerned with Demeter in her seasonal, fertility aspects, as well as how she came to be worshipped in Eleusis. The epithets chosen by the author in the above quote reflect this.

ὦ πότνια, πότνια, θύμασιν βροτησίοις / χαρεῖσα: o lady, lady, rejoicing in human sacrifice (Euripides Iphigenia in Aulis 1524-1525)

This line is spoken just before Iphigenia is sacrificed to Artemis, so it makes sense to describe the Goddess as appreciating this kind of ritual.

Ζεῦ ἄνα, Δωδωναῖε, Πελασγικέ, τηλόθι ναίων, / Δωδώνης μεδέων δυσχειμέρου: lord Zeus, Dodonian, Pelasgian, who lives afar, ruler of harsh-weathered Dodona (Iliad 16.233-234)

Here, Achilles is calling on a particularly archaic and venerable aspect of Zeus in the hopes that Patroclus will be kept safe. Dodona, the oldest known oracle of Zeus, and the Pelasgians, pre-Greek peoples, underline this ancient power.

Past worship

If making a request, you may want to mention past offerings and devotions you have made for the deity. This usually takes the form “if ever I...”, as in the Iliad 503-504: εἰ ποτε δή σε μετ’ ἀθανάτοισιν ὄνησα / ἢ ἔπει ἢ ἔργῳ: if ever I, among the immortals, pleased you in words or in actions...

In simpler words: εἰ ποτε σε (sg)/ὑμᾶς (pl) ὄνησα ἢ ἔπει ἢ ἔργῳ, “if ever I pleased you (sg/pl) in words or in actions”.

After this, you can move straight on to your prayer, or you can specify: μοι κρῆνον (sg)/κρῆνατε (pl) ἐέλδωρ, “fulfill (sg/pl) my wish”, or λιτὰς ἐμῶν δέξο/δέξασθε, “receive my prayers”.

Supplications and thanksgiving

Then, finally, you get to the actual prayer. This can take two forms: supplication (please grant me a thing) or thanksgiving (thank you for granting me a thing).

In a supplication, you can either use a verb in the imperative (grant me a thing) or in the optative (may you grant me a thing). Though giving orders to a deity may seem strange, neither is more polite or appropriate than the other - you can choose whichever you prefer. Here are a few verbs you might find useful:

φέρε/φέρετε (imperative sg/pl), φέροις/φέροιτε (optative sg/pl): to bring (+ accusative)

πέμπε/πέμπετε, πέμποις/πέμποιτε: to send (+ acc.)

δίδου/δίδοτε, διδοῖς/διδοῖτε: to give (+ acc.)

ἰάτρευε/ἰατρεύετε, ἰατρεύοις/ἰατρεύοιτε: to heal (+ acc.)

ἐπιμελέου/ἐπιμελέσθε ὑπέρ, ἐπιμελέοιο/ἐπιμελέοισθε ὑπέρ: to take care of X (+ genitive)

Some things you can pray for:

ἐγω (nom.), με/ἐμε (acc.), μου/ἐμου (gen.): I, me

for “my X”, use “X μου”

μήτηρ (nom.), μητέρα (acc.), μητρός (gen.): mother

πατήρ, πατέρα, πατρός: father

ἀδελφός, ἀδελφόν, ἀδελφοῦ: brother

ἀδελφή, ήν, ῆς: sister

φίλος, ον, ου (male) φίλη, ην, ης (female): friend

οἶκος, ον, ου: home

ἀλκή, ήν, ῆς or βία, αν, ας: strength

θάρρος, ος, ους: emotional strength, courage

ἀγαθή τύχη, ἀγαθήν τύχην, ἀγαθῆς τύχης: good luck

ὑγίεια, αν, ας: health

εἰρήνη, ην, ης: peace

σωτηρία, αν, ας: safety, preservation

In a fragment of a poem by Simonides (PMG 543), Danae prays that her troubles reach an end, saying εὑδέτω δ’ ἄμετρον κακόν: may this endless sorrow sleep. Εὑδέτω κακόν or variants like εὑδέτω φόβον (”may fear/panic sleep”), εὑδέτω νόσον (”may illness sleep”) or εὑδέτω ἔριν (”may quarrel sleep”) could be a nice image to include.

When it comes to thanksgiving, a common phrase is ἐμοῦ ἔκλυες/ἐκλύετε εὐξαμένου, “you listened to me when I prayed”. You can follow it with (καὶ) νῦν χάριν φέρω σοι/ὑμῖν, “(and) now I bring you thanks”. Εὐχαριστῶ σοι/ὑμῖν, “I am thankful to you”, is an alternative which is still widespread in modern Greece, though in ancient times, it was mostly used within Christianity.

Farewells

Once you have spoken your prayers, it is time to take your leave of the deity. This is most commonly done using χαῖρε/χαίρετε, as mentioned above. If you wish, you can name the deity again along with a couple of epithets. Telling them you will remember them in future prayers is a nice touch; the Homeric Hymns use αὐτὰρ ἐγὼ καὶ σεῖο καὶ ἄλλης μνήσομ᾽ ἀοιδῆς: but I will remember you, and another song. A simpler, adapted version would be σοῦ/ὑμῶν μνήσομαι καὶ ἄλλης εὐχῆς, “I will remember you, and another prayer”. Another possibility could be σοῦ/ὑμῶν μνήσομαι ἔπει καὶ ἔργῳ, “I will remember you in words and in actions”.

In summary

χαῖρε/χαίρετε: hail

κλυθί μοι/κλῦτε μοι: listen to me

καλέω or κικλῄσκω: I call, I summon

εἰ ποτε σε/ὑμᾶς ὄνησα ἢ ἔπει ἢ ἔργῳ: if ever I pleased you in words or in actions

μοι κρῆνον/κρῆνατε ἐέλδωρ: fulfill my wish

λιτὰς ἐμῶν δέξο/δέξασθε: receive my prayers

εὑδέτω X: may X sleep

ἐμοῦ ἔκλυες/ἐκλύετε εὐξαμένου: you listened to me when I prayed

νῦν χάριν φέρω σοι/ὑμῖν: now I bring you thanks

εὐχαριστῶ σοι/ὑμῖν: I am thankful to you

With all this, you can now create your own short prayers in Ancient Greek! Below I have written out a few templates you can work with. If you have any questions, or if you need help figuring out a certain phrase, I’m happy to help!

A thanksgiving prayer to Zeus:

Ὦ Ζεῦ, ὕπατε, πάτερ ἀνδρῶν τε θεῶν τε, ἐμοῦ ἔκλυες εὐξαμένου καὶ νῦν χάριν φέρω σοι. Χαῖρε, Ζεῦ ἄνα, καὶ σοῦ μνήσομαι ἔπει καὶ ἔργῳ.

O Zeus, most high, father of men and Gods, you listened to me as I prayed and now I bring you thanks. Hail, lord Zeus, and I will remember you in words and in actions.

A prayer to Artemis for anxiety relief:

Κλυθί μοι, Ἄρτεμι σώτειρα, ἡμερασία, λυσιμέριμνε, καὶ εἰ ποτε σ’ ὄνησα ἢ ἔπει ἢ ἔργῳ, μοι κρῆνον ἐέλδωρ˙ δεῖμα μου πέμποις εἰς ὀρέων κεφάλας, καὶ φέροις εἰρήνην. Χαῖρε, φίλη θεά.

Listen to me, Artemis saviour, of a gentle nature, deliverer of troubles, and if ever I pleased you in words or actions, fulfill my wish: may you send my fear away to the summits of the mountains, and bring down peace. Hail, dear Goddess.

A prayer to Apollon and Asclepios for a sick friend:

Requested: Hi! Could you make a part 2 to happiness with yong guk. If not, then did he cheat on the reader or?

Can you make a follow up story, or maybe even a series for "happiness - yongguk angst" ? I love it so much and I can't find closure 😭

It had been a week since you had broken up with Yongguk.

You decided that you would go back to the apartment to get the rest of your things from it.

You really didn’t want to but you needed to do this.

You quickly pulled on your vans and walked out of your best friends apartment. You didn’t have anywhere else to go so your best friend offered you her spare room for awhile.

You got into your vehicle and started it. You sat in the seat for a couple minutes to try and calm yourself down.

You haven’t saw Yongguk in a week. Haven’t spoke to him in a week. You were nervous. You obviously still had feelings for him. You would probably always have feelings for him.

You sighed and headed towards your old apartment.

After about fifteen minutes you arrived. You parked in the parking lot across the street.

You sat in the parking lot for about ten minutes trying to physc yourself up to face him.

You eventually got out of your car and headed towards the building.

As you got closer to the door the more nervous you felt. Your stomach was in knots. You didn’t know if you could do this.

You quickly shook your head to get rid of these thoughts. You had to do this. You could do this. You had to.

You mustered up the courage and knocked on the door.

After a couple minutes you heard shuffling coming from inside. Your heart beat increased.

As the door opened the sight before you made your heart sink deeper into your stomach.

A girl.

A girl answered the door. “Hello? Who are You?” She asked you as she leaned against the door frame.

You avoided her eyes and tried to look into the apartment.

“Uh I’m here to come and pick up the rest of my things.” You mumbled as you pushed your way into the room.

The girl let out a surprised noise as you pushed past her.

You walked into the living room and looked around. All of your things were gone. You quickly walked into the bedroom, again all of your things were gone.

The girl follwed you. “Your things are already packed. Yongguk oppa packed them already. The boxes are in the closet.” She told you.

Your heart sunk even more. He already packed your things? He couldn’t wait to get rid of you could he?

Your heart was also hurting at what she called Yongguk. She called him oppa. Were they dating? How long were they dating for? Was he with her when he was with you?

All these thoughts ran through your head as you walked to the closet.

As you opened the door to the closet you heard his voice come through the front door.

“Dana? Why is the front door open? You know that’s dangerous.” He said.

You froze. You did not want to be here. You quickly grabbed the two duffle bags and put them on your shoulders. Grabbing the box that was left you stood up.

You walked out of the room and down the hall. You were making your way down the hall, you were almost to the front door when you heard him again.

“Y/N? You’re here?” His voice caused you to freeze in your spot.

You slowly turned around to face him. “Uh yeah. I came back to get my things like I promised.” You gave a small laugh. “Thanks for already packing everything. Saves me some time.” You told him as you stared at the ground.

After a minute of silence you sighed. “Well It was nice seeing you again Yongguk. I’m glad you finally found someone who makes you happy. Goodbye.” You whispered softly.

You opened the front door and quickly walked out.

You walked to your car and opened the trunk. You quickly put your stuff in and shut it. You just wanted to get out of there. You just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep forever.

As you opened your car door a hand gently grabbed your wrist.

You looked back and your eyes widened slightly. “Yongguk? What are you doing?” You asked softly.

“I want to talk. Please can we talk?” He asked softly. You looked at him for the first time since you got there.

“Why do you want to talk? What’s there to talk about Yongguk? I think I saw everything I need to.” You told him softly as you removed your wrist from his hold, but he just tightened his grip on you.

“That’s why we need to talk. You’ve misunderstood. That girl that was in the apartment we aren’t together. I was never with anyone when I was with you either. That girl that answered the phone that night was Dana. She’s my brothers girlfriend. The night you called Yongnam and I were out drinking and she picked us up and took us home.” He explained.

You looked at him. “Then why is she at your apartment now?” You asked him softly.

He sighed. “She was taking care of the apartments. Yongnam and I went away for a couple days so she’s been taking care of mine and their apartment. I came back today. I swear I would never do anything like that to you I swear y/n. I-I love you to much.” He mumbled out.

You stared at him in shock. He wasn’t cheating on You?

“B-But you said you weren’t happy.” You stuttered out.

He sighed again. “I said I wasn’t happy, that doesn’t mean I wasn’t happy with you. I just wasn’t happy in general. Everyone I came home to you, you made my day better. I’m back on my medication now and I feel better than I did. I’m happy with you. I’m always happy when I’m with you.” He told you as he carassed your wrist with his thumb.

Your eyes started watering. “Then why did you pack my things?”

“Because. Every time I looked at your things it hurt me. I knew you weren’t coming back to me so I had to do something to try an ease the pain in my chest.” He explained softly.

Tears finally fell down your cheeks. You tugged your hand away from him.

He immediately frowned. “Y/N pl-” he got cut off as you wrapped your arms around his neck.

“I’m so sorry!” You cried into his neck. “I’m such an idiot. Yongguk I’m so sorry. I love you so much. Can you ever forgive me? God I’m so sorry. I should’ve just listened to you.” You cried.

He wrapped his arms around your back and hugged you back. “Its okay. I’m just glad you know the truth now. I love you so much. You’re the one for my happiness. You make me happy and I hope you’ll move back in and we can start over?” He asked with hope in his voice.

You cried harder and nodded into his neck. “I love you so much Yongguk.” You mumbled into his neck.

He pulled back slightly and wiped the tears from your face. He smiled and leaned forward slowly. You smiled and leaned up the rest of the way closing the gap.

When your lips met you smiled widely.

Yongguk would always be the reason for your happiness you realized, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - Originally? I’d give it a few years. Falling in love so gradually, after all, means it sneaks up on you. But does 4 days count once you reconnect? ;P

How was their first kiss? - SHITTY. Because Chloe’s a fucking spazz. Once they actually kiss for real and they are both expecting it, their first kiss is super tender.

Wedding:

Who proposed? - They both wanted to, but Max was too shy. And when Chloe got wind of what Max was trying to ask her, she proposed because it’s obviously a competition and she couldn’t be outdone. Max is still pissed to this day about it,

Chloe planned the more strategical aspects while Max planned a lot of the traditional stuff (like who was walking in with who, first dance song, etc.) They both planned how to handle the father-daughter dance sans William, since Chloe still struggled with David. They ended up having a very awkward dance until Ryan swooped in and squeezed everyone into a group dance and then it was fine.
