I think it's inevitable that a certain group of people will take Orym's statement about not being able to put down the lens he see the world through as further proof that his perspective is subjective and therefore untrustworthy as it applies to the Vanguard, but imo it serves as a stronger indictment toward those who are able to view the Vanguard as anything other than awful and predatory and murderous. Other people have the luxury of being able to see this through another lens if they so want to--Orym cannot. Because once a group like this has murdered your family, for the sake of a practice run no less, a test, it is impossible to view the situation in any other way. He is walking proof of the harm that the Vanguard does. His loved ones have been deemed "necessary collateral damage." His lens is not one that can or should be set aside in the assessment of the Vanguard, because if they are willing to commit such heinous crimes and excuse them as necessary collateral for ends that are so uncertain, then they are fundamentally not an organization that can be reasoned with or even should be sympathized with

something that is like the baseline of amys entire character to me is that shes lonely. shes clingy and physically affectionate in a way none of her friends really are, shes always getting pushed aside and left behind. yeah, she helps out people she doesnt know because shes a nice person, but also, she sees part of herself in them. she wont leave someone else behind because she knows the feeling —and more importantly, hates the feeling. if she doesnt have somebody to stand by her and be there for her, then shes going to be that person for everybody else. something something her obsession with sonic is really just like a manifestation of that desire for closeness with someone, and she thinks that romance is the only way to get that. idk... this hedgehog can have so many abandonment issues.

the fun thing about stanchez is that there's toxicity and domesticity wrapped into one ship, all depending on what era you're into. most commonly i see stanchez fanworks divided into two eras which are as follows

stan co/flesh curtains era: neither of them are mentally well. stick these two together and it'll be so fucking fun but also there is no way it'll end well for either of them. they make each other so much worse. they are each other's worst enablers. they get kicked out of every apartment or motel they end up staying in. they're both hypocrites. neither of them know whether they're dating or if they're just friends who sleep together because at this point it feels weird asking about it. they are deeply codependent. they deserve each other. they should stay so far away from each other. toxic yaoi at its peak

During/After Canon (aka, when they are both grimy old men): don't get me wrong! there is still potential for this to be toxic! but like... they both have families now, people who anchor them to one spot and keep them grounded and make them happy. much less unhinged and codependent than the previous era, now featuring Self-Indulgent Family Crossovers and Domestic Moments.

I use a mass majority of these!! All of these brushes are in the original library that comes with the purchase of Procreate

Will say I rotate through HB No. 1 (sketching and line art) Studio Pen (color fill/cell shading) Soft Airbrush (soft shading/gradient) and Noise (soft shading) the most in comparison to when that last post was made!

considering. alternate fmab ending where ed doesn't get his arm back and after he quits the military he switches to a regular leg prosthesis and no arm prosthesis. his automail was always chosen because it let him be useful and effective in the context of becoming a dog of the military, and i think switching to a less painful/intrusive combination of mobility aids (one that doesn't stunt his growth and give him nerve pain) is a fitting symbol of him giving up the lifestyle that necessitated automail in the first place.
