21. Have you ever deleted an entire scene after spending hours laboring over it? If so, why?

If nobody got me, I know the most beloved mutuals got me, lmao

Not in SOTF, but I feel like I have to have done this with some of my unpublished stuff.

Surprisingly little has gotten left on the cutting room floor (so to speak) with this one, actually. There were some scenes that had initial passes I simply didn't like, but they got cut relatively early in the drafting process/never finished & rewritten without enough fuss for me to really remember. There's also been small section of scenes that got cut just to help the flow, but generally speaking, the stuff that took hours almost always stays.

Truthfully, if anything "major" gets cut, it's likely that happens before it even gets put down. Either because it was idea building, or because it was a silly little imagined scene that I entertained myself with to fill time that I always knew would be "off screen" or I realized wouldn't fit long before the place it would have needed to go

what i was originally calling "gigglesweet" could be more accurately described as "bright colorful unreality/weirdcore/kawaii" although i do still like the name. i think the fact that it's a wider mix of aesthetics helps. there's general 2000's cute girlyness, japanese/east asian (bright colored) cuisine, webcore, and kidcore in there too.

i cant fucking stand being called a waoman. i just cant anymore

#i think because of my catastrophic upbringing girlyness had never been within me and i never felt like i was treated as a girl #except the few rare exceptions where cousins would round up and obviously boys n girls were seperated #but i have no memories of like.. being forced to do girly things or watever #feels like a very gender neutral upbringing but then again we were gettin beat the fuck up everyday it wasnt like #a priority #my familis nickname for me is rooted in womanhood but i always found it cute and endearing and i love when my mom calls me that #but anything else...#like people making a general statement about women... i feel completely excluded #im SHOCKED when the person is very much in fact integrating me bc i have made no efforts to look like a boy watsoever #frankly completely gave up on my styling. i feel like a disgusting fat blob of flesh #and iv never felt like a human. my soul is litteraly so disconnected from my body that i have to stare in the mirror #for quite a long time to process that this is me... doesnt look like it... i feel like im a candy wearing a wrapper

I am so happy that the Barbie movie seems to be fully embracing the girlyness and sillinesss and overall Barbieness of Barbie. So much content these days that is either aimed at young girls, or based off of something that was aimed at young girls, is so embarrassed of the girl part of it. Corporations will try to make it more “progressive,” but in doing so they suck all the fun and joy and girlyness out of it, because they believe that diversity can only be corporate and boring.

If they’re making a mature adaptions, it becomes sad, bland, and grimdark, and it’s filled with 4th wall breaking jabs at the original that make fun of the girlyness and fun it had, like this muddy grey slog of self serious dialogue and butchered characters is any better. If it’s meant for girls and made now, it just doesn’t have any fun to begin with. All the characters walk the perfect line of girly but not too girly and diverse in a mandatory power point presentation from HR way that shows demand.

As much as we can tell so far, this movie does not do any of that!! They’re all named Barbie and Ken and the Barbies have 100 million jobs and the Ken’s are just there!! They all have great outfits and high heeled feet and bright pink cars and neon yellow rollerblades!! They’re wonderful girly plastic dolls who cannot conceptualize what sex is because they’re smooth and genital-less and they’re embracing that!! They’re finding the humor in it, not by making fun of it, but by wearing the funny parts proudly on their sleeve!! It’s not based on being ashamed of Barbie but absolutely loving it!! That’s what unabashedly girly material should be!!

ashzy/swagzy and princeswagg are extremely cool, however i would also like to propose princeswagzy (ashswagg most definitely would pull the "i have more bitches than you ever will have" card).

however. i would now like to propose the idea of zampierce. they are absolute hell together. you targetted clown in an attack? suddenly, random things keep happening in your life that aren't harmful or fatal, but just incredibly annoying. all of your swords seem to get blunt incredibly quickly and when your pickaxe breaks while you're mining ore, you return with a new one just to find that whatever ore you were mining has suddenly all been taken. zam is behind all of this. zam will mildly inconvenience you for the rest of your life (or until zam gets bored). however, if you target zam? clown won't exactly attack you, but you will constantly be followed around and anything you plan to do directed towards zam that could effect zam negatively suddenly falls apart and no longer can bring any negative effect to zam, and in some cases, benefitting zam and backfiring on you. no one knows who it is behind these things, and honestly you can decide whether or not clown and zam know that the other does these things for them. they'd still absolutely go at each other's throats in public though (in private they're bandaging up each other's wounds and spending quality time together).

if you really want as well, zam and clown can be t4t lesbians. i am not only spreading my rarepair propaganda, but i will be spreading my trans female headcanons propaganda to you all (this has been my evil plan all along, i will subject you to how i spread my trans girlyness onto them all /silly).
