i think i stumbled across the most unique Kokichi family hc i've personally ever seen?

i was looking through the Kokichi Ouma tag and i found a doodle someone made with dailouge that implied Kokichi has a godfather. I have no clue if it was actually a hc or just a reference to something that i didn't get, but Kokichi with a godfather is such a funky(/pos) take

it was horribly deep into the tag and i have no clue if i could find it again now that i've exited the tab, but to you dear artist who did that; you're a genious.

it's cool that more people are watching tokyo godfathers thanks to youtube, but that version has outdated subtitling (particularly regarding hana, a trans woman character). i recommend the 2020 gkids release, which has more accurate subtitles and a really good dub as well. i'm sure you can find this version on various movie/anime streaming sites (hi)—you'll know it's the newer release if it starts with the circular gkids logo. merry tokyo godfathers everyone

Mdzs and Harry Potter

I was rewatching the Prisoner of Azkaban last night for old time’s sake, and it occurred to me that Wei Wuxian’s story is incredibly similar to Sirius’. Both started out with many friends, but then were framed for causing the death of (in Sirius’ case, his best friend and his wife, and in WWX’s case, his sister and her husband). After being dead/imprisoned for thirteen years, they both returned and found the son of the people they were framed for killing, and a spouse/old friend who believed in their innocence, despite the ongoing rejection of the rest of the world. I suppose it would be stretching the similarity a bit far, but both did have somebody set on catching them for personal reasons (Snape and Jiang Cheng) and both were willing to defend their nephew/godson at any cost as well as restore the world to justice. And neither of them could quite ever go back. Mostly it was the dynamic between Harry/Jin Ling and Sirius/Wei Wuxian that caught my attention, though I’d definitely say Harry and Sirius’ relationship was a lot better, since Sirius was actually completely innocent. Anyway. If you have any thoughts, I’d love to hear them!

shout out to when i told my dad about goncharov and he figured out it was fake because i told him "1973 martin scorsese film with robert de niro" and he said that wasn't possible because the godfather came out in 1972 and the godfather part II came out in 1974 and they wouldn't have had time to make a movie in between. a perfectly good jest, foiled by this man's weird and vast knowledge set
