heart warming fluff | 'girlie' and 'wife' used in childes but other than that no specifc pronouns used
Tumblr media
diluc
you swore you were glowing with the evidence of your little secret the entire way from the clinic in the city back to dawn winery. as if the baby in your womb was alight with sparkling flames that shown on your skin and in your smile despite how much you tried to hold it in but it was near impossible to do with the overflowing joy you felt at the surreal news of your pregnancy.
you were relieved that no one had stopped you on your walk home, an eager bounce to your step that the nausea you’d been feeling for a few days now couldn’t stop. not when your husband was at home unsuspecting of the news you could not wait to share with him. no one but you and babraba, who had confirmed you were indeed pregnant, knew for now and you wanted it to stay that way until you could tell diluc.
the entire walk home your heart was thumping loudly, in time with your giggle and smiles and the butterflies in your stomach tickled you the more it sank in that you were going to have a baby with the man you love, that your family would be growing with a sweet bundle of your love. thoughts of diluc as a father only made those feelings grow tenfold, seeing your baby in his arms, laying on his broad chest, tugging at his crimson hair and cooing at him as he smiles so tenderly.
archons you were going to cry just imagining it.
but you had to hold on just a little longer. only a few more steps and you’d be in the manor where diluc surely was lost in his work or helping with an issue and you could steal him away to tell him and cry your tears of elation against his lapel. it wasn’t even worth blaming the hormones for them either, not when you’re certain you’d have spilled some regardless. to love diluc and be loved by him had been the most wonderful thing in your life and now, to share that love with your child, felt like you were swimming in a never ending sea that was the full embodiment of love, devotion and the pureset of warmth.
you’re pulled deeper into that sea as you walk into the study, the place your feet brought you when the parlor did not turn up your beloved. there he was tucked behind his desk, reviewing a stack of paperwork that seemed to never get smaller, fiery red locks pulled back to keep them from his handsome face.
with your thoughts getting the better of you again, curious ones that made you wonder how much your baby was sure to look like their father, you stop in your tracks at the threshold of the door, taking him in, your hand reaching for your belly and tugging lightly at the fabric of your shirt.
as if he had been expecting you, he looks up from the contract laid out on his desk and you see his lips previously drawn in a thin line tugging upwards at the sight of you. you had only been gone an hour or so, under the guise of running ‘errands’ in the city but be it an hour or ten minutes away from you, he would always be happy when either of you returned to the other.
“welcome home my love,” he says, attempting to get up from his seat to meet you halfway but you’re quick to make your way to his side, all but floating to him in your current state, his gloveless hand reaching out to hold your waist as you find your place between his legs, his other now holding your hand.
with a tender touch, the pads of your fingers brushing across his bangs, feeling the natural heat of his forehead seeping into your skin and making you want more of him, all of him. you see his eyes flutter as he leans into your touch, thick lashes hiding scarlet eyes that hold your entire world when he didn’t yet know you were now carrying a whole new part of his.
you hadn’t said anything since you came into the study, the words on the tip of your tongue and making you giggle in undiluted happiness. from his place below you he looks up at you, an eyebrow raising in question but how much he loved to hear you laugh, let it fill the place he occupied and consume it with your light, was evident in his soft expression and he didn’t want it to stop. he only wanted to share in your rapture and as the words left your lips, he felt himself burst with emotion that any words of elation could not hope to describe.
“i’m pregnant,” you said with a blush on your cheeks and a lovely wide smile on your lips. the words and their meaning settle in his heart, kindling his flames and bringing forth pooling tears that made his rose colored eyes sparkle in the afternoon sunlight coming from the window.
“you’re pregnant,” he repeats breathlessly, almost unable to form the words as his grip on you tightens. he can’t break his eyes from yours, not even when a few of his tears escape and make their way down his cheek, caught on your fingers and captured by your love.
many things were brewing in the back of his mind, from the list of what would need to be baby proofed in the manor to if he truly would be a good father, much like his own. but as he looks into your eyes, swearing he feels the little flame burning brightly inside of you, he makes a vow, burns it into his heart and soul, to do everything in his power to protect you both, love you both and give you all he is.
your hearts were in sync as they skipped multiple beats. tears of your own flowing down your cheeks and over the curve of the smile you could not force down even if you tried. your sweet laugh, the aftermath of emotions that bubbled out of you and only knowing to express themselves this way in your bliss, drawing more and more tears from your beloved as you answered him even knowing what he said wasn’t a question.
“i am,” you say softly, your hand on his and on his cheek flexing against him.
diluc pulls you as close as possible, with all the gentleness he could muster, at the edge of his seat with his face buried under your chest near your belly, warm crystalline tears wetting your shirt as his hands bunch up the back of it in his grip that said he would never, ever, be letting you go.
childe
damn him for having to go on a work trip.
there was no one you wanted to share good news with more than ajax and, as always, you could hardly stand the wait until his return. it has been 3 weeks since he’s been gone and it would be a few more days still until he’d return when you learned of the reason for your sickness in the weeks since he left home, that you were pregnant with his baby.
you hadn’t stopped smiling since finding out, skillfully avoiding his family when you felt like it was written all over your radiating aura so that he could be the first person you told. aside from your morning sickness the days leading up to his arrival home, it had felt so unreal and looking down to see your not yet showing belly but knowing what growing in your womb made you burst into a smile that hurt your cheeks.
by the time the day actually came for his ship to be arriving back in snezhnaya you were beyond eager to get the words out, to see his cute face and finally let it feel so very real when you shared in this blissfulness together. your impatience showed in the way you quickly dressed and made your way to the docks, rocking back and forth on your feet while you waited to see the huge ship in the distance. it was cold but thankfully not snowing and your movements helped to keep you warm along with the scarf he had gifted you long before your marriage and the thick coat you wore.
when you finally saw the vessel carrying your beloved back to you, you swore you could cry. for days now you had dreamed of ajax and your baby, how deeply he would love them, how spoiled they would undoubtedly be, how he would likely ask for another not longer after you have this one and the thought of having more children with him made your chest burst with heat. your family would be so loved, just as you are, and you felt so lucky to be apart of such a deep bond.
“i’m sure you’ll be the best older sibling,” you whisper down to your stomach with a smile before hearing the welcomes of your husband's siblings and parents also coming to see him home.
it would be easy to pass of your joy off as your husband returning and nothing else, so many times you had met them at the docks like today and it had helped to pass the time playing with tonia, teucer, and anthon but the closer the ship got, the more you could only focus on the distance it closed and the words you had been holding in for days that sat at the back of your throat like a truth that felt too good to be true.
oh but it was and the moment you saw him, his ginger hair standing out from the rest, at the edge of the ship looking over for you and his family, you couldn’t hold them back any longer.
“ajax!” you called loudly and so easily he heard your voice.
“baby!” he returns in kind.
you giggle at the sweet name you had missed hearing in his voice for these weeks before cupping your hands around your mouth, wanting to be sure he hears what you have to say because by the tsaritsa good graces you couldn’t stop them from coming out even if you wanted to.
“i’m pregnant!” you say as loudly as you can, your cheeks aching from the smile that accompanies your words.
you hear his family’s celebrations in the background of your attention on your beloved but can’t make out what they’re saying when all you can focus on is him. the way you swear even from this distance you can see his eyes light up with stars, feel his joy and how greedy he is to get to you.
and archons you swore you hated him just a bit when he jumped from the ship before it even docked, landing skillfully on the sturdy planks and not wasting a moment before he breaks out in full speed towards you. you don’t even have a chance to scold him for being so careless, tease him for scaring his pregnant wife even when you knew he had done much worse than just jumping off of a slowly moving ship, before you catch a flash off his smile milliseconds before being scooped up in strong arms and lifted off the ground.
you aren’t sure how he did it, lifting you so high that your stomach was pressed right against his cheek but your feet were far from the ground and yet, you felt safe and steady in his arms. shamelessly he nuzzled his face into you middle softly, kissing over your thick jacket and bringing to life the butterflies in your core.
in a fit of giggles and ‘put me down’s, meddled with his confessions of happiness, the reality of your pregnancy, proof of your undying love for one another and the how were now going to get to share it with a little dew drops growing in your belly, falling even more in love with him as you do you have no doubt, it finally starts to feel so very real.
real enough that by the time he puts you down, setting you on the ground but not letting you go, not even when he knows you're planted down safely, you’re in a full blown sob. warm happy tears cooling against your cheek only moments after escaping your lashes, the frozen air nipping at your dripping nose.
you bury yourself in his giant coat, holding onto him as if your life depended on it, your face hiding in his chest, feeling his chuckle that vibrates there. your emotions and hormones were getting the better of you but with childe finally home, you couldn’t hold them back, didn’t want to.
“it’s okay girlie,” he whispers into your hair, smiling so pure against your scalp, holding you against him with one hand behind your head and the other at your back, keeping you pressed close. how was he to ever let you go now? “you two must have missed me a lot,” he teases, feeling himself nearly choking on his own happiness as he says the words.
“we did,” you admit, your words muffled but his coat and your tears, smiling at the truth of you two- you and your baby, and how it sounded coming from his voice.
xiao
in reality you probably should have known how worried xiao would be when you left a note on your shared bed stating you were running to bubu pharmacy and would be back in a bit without further explanation. in your defense, as usual in the early mornings, he had left to continue his duty of protecting liyue and writing down the full reason for your visit to the pharmacy would have been worse you think.
you didn’t want to worry him about you being pregnant just in case you weren’t, and telling him over a note was far from ideal for you either, even though after days of symptoms you were pretty sure you were. you just wanted doctor baizhus confirmation before telling your husband and almost as soon as you stepped into bubu pharmacy, changsheng had told you exactly what you thought.
the way it made your heart stutter, your body filling with mirth, left you speechless near the entrance to the pharmacy and unable to do anything but stare down at your stomach. it was then you saw qiqis hand, pulling at the hem of your shirt to grab your attention, fresh violet grass in her hand extended out to you, something she often did since you fell in love with xiao.
you left in hurry, flower in your hand, each step you took the smile you wore continuing to pulling at your cheeks until you were radiating an ethereal glimmer and practically skipping on your way out the city until you were stopped in your tracks by the very man you were headed to find with concern swirling in his golden eyes, arms crossed over his chest, his lips in a deep frown.
the surprise on your face worried him further, setting his eyebrows to knit and his body to draw closer to yours until you were within his reach but you could only smile at the love you knew was behind it; love that he had shared with only you in all of his immortal life but that he would now get to share another one of a kind love with another, someone so little and precious, half of you both and just like you, so very lucky to be cherished by the vigilant yaksha.
“what's wrong?”
you reach for him, touching his taut brow and feeling it relax under the soft pads of your fingertips. “nothing’s wrong, i promise,” you assure him sweetly, taking a step closer, your chests now pressed together. you wrap your arms around his neck, feeling tiredness take over in his embrace, the smell of violet grass and almond filling your scenes. “take me home please?”
of course all you needed to do was call his name and he would take you wherever you wished. when his arms wrap around you, gentle and yet firm in his hold, you feel the atmosphere of the bustling city wash away in a smoke of black and green and the quietness of your home begging to blanket you in comfort. it makes your mind wander with thoughts of how comfortable and safe your little one would be here. fills you with day dreams of xiao helping them take their first steps, soothing them when they cry, loving them so deeply; a bond you know will last eternity and then some.
“i do have something to tell you though,” you coo happily and lean against him more, not moving from where he had teleported in your house.
his hands on you tighten, pulling you far enough away so that he can examine you but still keep you close enough to feel you. in his attentive gaze he does notice a flicker of difference in you, something he has never seen on you before and even though it felt.. strange, it’s warm, light, like an ease of debt at the sight of golden rays of the sun peaking through clouds among the highest mountains after it rains.
“i’m pregnant,” you confess with a blissful smile that he swears could bring him to tears when it came paired with those words.
human emotion had always been a bit foreign to xiao and the emotion of love was certainly no exception but he had come to feel it for himself, accept it even when it worried him, even when he did not feel worthy of it. and you.. you had always loved him, saw the good in him, showed him gentleness and the meaning of family in a way he had not known before but that was familiar of so many years past, a family that was growing still and the realization fills him with elation beyond words.
a rare tender smile graces his lips but he still let slip his worry of the promise to always be beside you being broken, the promise he took as seriously as his job protecting liyue and would spend just as long fulfilling. “why did you go see doctor baizhu alone?”
“o-oh,” your cheeks burn with a bit of embarrassment, your bottom lip in a pout and your fingers fidgeting with the stem of the flower in your hand. you knew why he was asking. “it’s just - you were out and busy and i didn’t want to -”
“you can always call my name.”
“i know,” you hum sweetly, pulling yourself back into his embrace. your head resting on his shoulder, feeling his deep breaths.
he takes you into his arms, strong hands finding the back of your thighs and lifting them around his thin waist, taking the few steps to your bed where he places you down gently, following after you. you giggle as he does, sparkling in happiness and love when he hovers over you before leaning down to kiss you, claiming your lips gently but so very full of his emotions.
when he finally pulls away, a lovely flush to his cheeks, he moves to rest next to you, taking his normal spot at the edge of the bed and you easily follow so you can face him. you place the violet grass in the space of the pillow between you, his hand coming to hold it with yours and for a few quiet moments you bask in each other like this, the happiness you both feel painted over your love stricken faces, a side many have not seen from the adepti. the tiredness you felt before pulls at you in this comfortable position, the hand on top of yours growing warmer when xiaos thumb rubs back and forth over your knuckles, slow and soothing until you fall asleep, watching over you and the greatest gift he would receive, proof of how much you loved him, wanted him, needed him, as he always would.

you're the closest to heaven i'll ever be
Tumblr media
ft. Diluc, Kaeya, Zhongli, and Alhaitham
Your lover comes back home after a tiring day at work, and the first thing on his mind is to lay his head on his favorite pillow (aka your chest).
Tags: slight mature themes, mostly fluff, established relationships, gn!reader
Word Count: ~1.4k words, somewhat proofread
Tumblr media
Diluc
Diluc dragged his feet through the silent Dawn Winery, wanting nothing more than to close the gap between him and your bedroom door. His shift tonight- well, last night- at the tavern was seemingly endless, a barrage of customers flowing in and out even after closing. What should have been the normal eight hours for him turned to a solid thirteen, with him and Charles cleaning up after unruly drunks and the like.
With a heavy hand, he opened the door to your shared bedroom, where he found you peacefully lying on your bed asleep. Diluc smiled a little at the sight of you, so cute curled up with a book placed next to your face, no doubt you were waiting for him to return. Guilt went through him as he walked over to you, quietly discarding his heavy coat on a nearby chair.
As he sat on the bed, you stirred from your sleep. Diluc froze, making sure he wasn’t disturbing you further. Though it was fruitless, as you’d already opened your eyes to see your tired lover sitting next to you. While you sat up, Diluc moved closer to you, eventually embracing you in his strong arms. He buried his head in the crook of your neck, taking in your scent.
“Hi, luc…” you greeted him sleepily, caressing his crimson locks. “How was work?”
“Too busy.” His reply was muffled, and you could feel his head getting heavy on your shoulder. You nudged him up gently, taking his face into your hands and kissing his lips. He kissed back tenderly, moving his lips against yours slowly, making you grin.
When he pulled away, instead of laying on your shoulder again, he pulls his head lower and rests it comfortably on your chest. You blush at the sudden action, feeling his warm face on your almost-bare chest. Still, you didn’t push him away; not that you could, considering his arms were still wrapped around you putting you in place.
“Shouldn’t you take a shower first love?”
“Tomorrow…” Not long after that Diluc dozed off, head snugly against you listening to your heartbeat.
Zhongli
You hummed a little tune as you prepared dinner for both you and your husband, Zhongli. Despite being married for hundreds of years, domesticity was something that was relatively new in your marriage, only coming after your husband retired from being an Archon. Still, you embraced the new lifestyle and busied yourself with work around the house (something you never got the chance to do when he was still Rex Lapis) while Zhongli worked at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour.
Carefully placing down the hot food on your dining table, you weren’t able to notice Zhongli enter your abode through your humming. A warm smile graced his tired face as he stumbled on the scene before him. You looked quite serene, it made his heart flutter and fill with love and adoration.
You freeze as you feel two familiar arms snake around your waist, relaxing when you realize it was your husband. Giggling, you turned to face him and wrap your own arms around his neck. You give him a quick peck as a greeting, and he responded in kind, gently holding your waist as he did.
“You’re just in time, I made your favorite tonight.” He hummed in response, though he did not move from his position. Instead, he bent lower to lay his head on your chest, confusing you just a little. He must have sense your confusion as he chuckled, pulling you tighter against him.
“Forgive me, my love. Today was… tiring, to say the least. I just wish to have this moment with you.” A blush grew on your face as you smiled, realizing that this was one of those rare instances where Zhongli became clingy. You bring up a hand, slowly stroking his hair.
“Just as long as the food doesn’t get cold.” If this was what domestic bliss felt like, Zhongli would have retired from being an archon much sooner.
Kaeya
After a long day of running around Mondstat, investigating unusual occurrences and apprehending criminals and the like, Kaeya felt like a worn-out boot by the time he reached the Angel’s Share. There, he sat in the corner of the tavern, sipping his wine as he felt his body release some of the tension that had built up during the day.
He sat quietly, ignoring the raucous sounds around him while he fought off the urge to nap. If Diluc were to come, he’d be thrown out and he was in no mood for trivial insults and pettiness tonight. As he swirled the glass of wine in his hands, his mind began to wander. Specifically, to you- the cute little mage who was new in town. Kaeya somehow managed to weasel his way into your new life as your unofficial lover, and though no labels were cast on the both of you yet, you were far from innocent lovers- with your bed not unfamiliar with Kaeya’s affections.
Suddenly, the blue-haired man stood and made his way to exit the tavern, throwing Charles a bag of mora for his troubles. As he walked through the streets of Mondstat, his smirk grew larger and larger as he approached your small apartments in the city. He always looked forward to seeing you, though he wasn’t sure if he would be able to make love to you tonight given the sleepiness dawning on him.
Kaeya approached your door, knocking three times and waiting. The door suddenly swung open, your magic no doubt, and he tentatively stepped inside before the door shut itself just as fast as it opened. There you were, splayed on your couch with nothing but a robe on, face immersed in a book.
“Evening, Kaeya.” You didn’t even look up at the man sauntering towards you, used to his antics. His hungry eyes scoured your being; if he were less tired, he was sure that he’d pounce on you right then and there. However, he resigned himself to laying in between your legs, placing his head on your chest, and closing his eyes, steadying his breathing.
“Not even gonna greet me? It’s rude to just come in to someone’s house and not acknowledge them you know.” You chastise him jokingly, abandoning your book in favor of undoing his braid.
“I apologize, sweetling. I just can’t resist you when you’re like this.” He said with a yawn, contentedly dosing off as you comb your fingers through his hair.
Alhaitham
Being the acting grand sage was getting on Althaitham’s nerves. Yes, it was a necessary position. Nobody else had come forward to accept it, and there was much work to be done in clearing out the Akademiya. So began the long days cooped up in his office, staring at paperwork all day. He would rather be finishing up the book he’d been reading, sitting in between your legs while you play with his hair.
He sighed heavily as he closed the file folder in front of him, suddenly standing up and walking out of the office, much to his assistant’s surprise. His cries of protest were ignored as Alhaitham strode out of the Akademiya, aware that his shift was now over and there was no way in hell he was doing overtime.
When he reached your house, he found you sitting in the living room sofa, lazily stroking Kaveh’s desert fox. You look up at the door when you hear him enter, a pleasant smile blooming on your face, but you didn’t get up from your position. Alhaitham furrowed his brows- he expected you to greet him as usual, so why weren’t you running towards him?
“Welcome home Haitham. How was work?”
“Is there something wrong?” He asked, crossing his arms in what seemed like a huff. You glance at him quizzically, wondering why he switched his mood all of a sudden.
“Nothing. Did something happen at work?” You stood, letting the fox go and scamper off somewhere else around the house. Alhaitham relaxed a little, pulling you into a tight embrace once you were close enough. You chuckled, taking off his coat and trying to lead him toward the couch. Instead, he held you there, making himself comfortable on your chest.
“You smell like fox.”
“So why don’t you move then?”
“Mm, I can ignore it just this once.”

Gentle Love
Tending to him while he is injured.
Diluc, Kaeya, Scaramouche, Xiao x Reader

~~~
Diluc R.
“Oh, Diluc, what happened?”
The young winery owner wanted to avoid waking you. He did everything in his power to avoid it, he entered the house quietly and was nearly silent coming into your shared bedroom. It seems that there is nothing he can do to avoid your sixth sense, the one that is activated whenever he returns to you.
Diluc really didn’t want to worry you, he hates seeing the fear in your eyes and installing anxiety in your heart. He wishes it didn’t have to be this way.
“Go back to sleep,” He’s not even sure why he tried to command this of you, you’d never listen. You’re already in front of him before he can blink, your hands are hovering all over his body as your eyes widen in shock. It’s almost as if you’re afraid to touch him and harm him even further.
Diluc never comes back this injured.
“Please, Diluc, let me help you.” When you tug gently on his fingers, Diluc follows you without a second thought. There has never been a time where he’s been able to say ‘no’ to you. You pull him to the cushioned seats situated under one of the large bay windows and softly push his shoulders to get him to sit down. Diluc does so with no hesitation, he thumps against the material while trying to get his jacket off. His stiff muscles make this task nearly impossible to do and it’s only by your delicate fingers that he is able to drop the material down to the floor.
“Are you alright, my love?” You ask while working the buttons of his shirt and pushing the material to the side. The frown on your face only grows at the sight of the bruises starting to form on his skin. Diluc sucks in a deep breath.
“I’m fine, please do not worry so much-”
“How can’t I?” By the fiery look in your eyes, Diluc knows this was the wrong thing to say. He subtly drops his head, chin to his chest as he tries to hide from your disapproving gaze. You quietly sigh and reach again for his hands. The red tinting his knuckles makes your heart hurt. “I just want you to be safe.” You hold his hands to your chest, gently squeezing them in your hold before placing a kiss against his wrists.
“I know,” He hates to disappoint you, it pains Diluc more than his current injuries to let you down.
“But you can’t stop, huh?” His silence answers your question and you want to scoff. You want to let out all of your anger but, you know Diluc. Despite everything, you love and accept him for who he is. “Please just return to me safely each night, that is all I ask of you.”
Diluc gives you a soft smile, one reserved especially for you that never sees the light of day toward another.
“I promise, my love, for as long as I live.”
Kaeya A.
“Easy there, sweets,” Kaeya gently pushes your wrist away, wincing under the touch of your alcohol-infused cotton ball. You can’t help but scowl at him, he deserves every ounce of pain that this brings. “you know that you only need water to clean wounds, right?”
Not even his charming smile will work on you tonight, you’re far too upset to acknowledge it or him.
You continue to ignore Kaeya as you softly dab the cotton against his jaw and then against his throat. The scratches there make your heart ache and you try not to think about his bruised fingers and scratched-up forearms. You told him not to take the commission alone, the one that required his assistance from early morning to late in the evening. Hilichurl after hilichurl and abyss mage after abyss mage, Kaeya fought and took each one down that surrounded the walls and gates of Mondstadt.
You know it’s his job, you know you’re not supposed to get mad at him but, you hate to see him put himself on the line like that.
“Ignoring me, hm?” Kaeya peeks at you from under his lashes, lips slightly curling up at the heavy frown resting on your face. The pout of your lips is too cute, too much for the captain to handle. He wants to kiss you so badly, to feel the soft touch of your lips against his own-
“Ouch. My little busy bee, you need to be more gentle with that.” He grimaces as you dot at the large gash against his cheek even harder than before. Kaeya knows that you’re angry with him and that he deserves every ounce of the pain you inflict upon him but, must you be so harsh? “Shouldn’t you treat an injured man more delicately?”
That finally pisses you off and you throw down the cotton ball and towel onto the table before pushing yourself away. You had planned to leave and head straight for the door, leaving Kaeya to lick his own wounds by himself but, your boyfriend grabs you before you could even put the plan into motion. His large hand tightly grips your wrist and tugs you back into his lap. Try as you might, your strength is no match for him and you find yourself on the tops of his thighs before you even realize it.
“Forgive me,” Kaeya murmurs against your jaw before gently placing peck after peck against your throat. “I hate it when you’re upset with me.”
His touch melts your anger far faster than you care to admit. In fact, you’re mere putty in his hands as he squeezes your hips with his palms.
“I hate it when you act recklessly,” For the first time all night, you speak and Kaeya carefully looks at you. Your eyes are hard, resolve still intact as you glare down at him.
The captain will have to work for your forgiveness, that much is clear.
He laces his fingers with your own, bringing your hand up to his lips before kissing your knuckles. The entire act of affection is done with his eyes locked with your own.
“I know,”
Scaramouche
“Don’t touch me,” Scaramouche’s warning goes in one ear and out the other. Despite his cold tone and fighting spirit, you ignore him and focus on organizing the work in front of you.
The harbinger watches as you separate all the cotton balls and cotton swabs from one another before reaching for the bowl of water. “listen to me, wretched vermin.”
His half-assed threats make you roll your eyes. No matter how much he tries to verbally push you away, Scaramouche willingly lets you grab his hand. He allows you to look at the fresh cuts on his arm, no doubt from some mission that you won’t ever know the details about.
“You’re not bleeding,” You murmur and lean forward to look closer at his near-porcelain skin.
“Because I’m not hurt.” Scaramouche rips his arm away from your touch, almost holding the limb to his chest to expand the distance between the two of you.
“You aren’t?” At the touch of your hand against his cheek, Scaramouche flinches. His entire body stiffens and doesn’t relax even as you scoot closer to him. The bench inside his office now seems shorter than normal. “Look at me,” Your calm voice makes him wince and the look of terror and irritation refuses to leave his face. “look.” Much to his dismay, your fingers travel down to capture his jaw and force him to look down at you.
Scaramouche feels too vulnerable under your touch, under your gaze, and he nearly starts to shake. You seem to be looking right through him, directly to his core and to where his heart should be.
“What do you want from me?” He hisses and the sound does little to intimate you as you push his cheeks together, causing his lips to slightly pucker. Your soft smile, followed by a quiet chuckle, makes Scaramouche feel a little at ease.
“I want to make sure that you’re okay.” You continue to hold him still as you run your eyes over either side of his face then his throat and behind his neck. The light touch of your fingers makes his skin feel as if it is on fire, everything is burning hot the more that you linger near him.
“Because you’re the nurse?” He spits the word as if it offends him, as if you disgust him but, you pay no mind to that. Instead, you sigh and bring your hand back to your lap.
“Would it kill you to think of me as a friend?” Your dejection doesn’t make the harbinger feel strong as he had hoped, no, it makes him feel small. He watches as you put away your things into your medical bag and clasp it closed.
“Yes,” He whispers.
“Hmm, shame,” You shrug and stand up from his bench before making your way to his door. Right as you’re about to leave and finish stepping all over his emotional control, you look over your shoulder back at him. “I happen to quite like you, Scaramouche.”
Xiao
Xiao isn’t sure what compelled him to seek you out so late into the night. All he knows is that he is hurt and needs to be near you.
As much as it irritated him to bother you, to pull you from the book you were so eagerly invested in, he did so with slight hesitation.
“Why are you still awake?” His voice is quiet in the comfortable atmosphere of your room, outside he can hear the nature of Liyue through your open window and the peace that night has to offer.
Maybe that is what makes him feel more at ease.
“I got caught up in a light novel, it’s one that is very popular in Inazuma.” You seem happy to be helping him and Xiao doesn’t understand it. He expected more of a reaction from you but, you were entirely too calm in grabbing some cloth and pulling him to the empty chair at your desk. “What were you doing?”
Xiao silently mulls over his words as you lightly dab at an open wound on his shoulder. Some pathetic Fatui scum, no longer in this world, had gotten him when he wasn’t looking. He rarely gets injured like this but, then again, he rarely has to deal with an entire Fatui army.
In the morning, he will have to deliver this delicate information to someone else.
“Watching over Liyue,” He isn’t confident in these words and isn’t sure that they are going to satisfy you but, to his surprise, you simply hum in acknowledgment. You carefully lift his arm before wrapping up his shoulder with some gauze, making sure to secure some pads against his wound underneath the medical material.
“As long as you’re happy,” You gently press a kiss to his cheek before heading back to your bed. The entire interaction makes Xiao extremely confused. He sits still for a few moments, blinking slowly before turning to face you. You’re now laid comfortable with the book in your hands and your eyes running across the words on each page.
Xiao pushes himself out of the chair and walks towards you, he stands at the side of your mattress and continues to just watch you. At your limited reaction, that of which being nothing, Xiao settles down beside you.
“Don’t lay on that side, Xiao!” You scold him and quickly get up to switch sides with him. “Lay on your back!” Your outburst fills him with warmth and provides the Adepti with a sense of comfort. The touch of your fingers against his arm helps Xiao relax into the sheet. You then scoot closer to him before wrapping your arm around his waist.
“Will you sleep with me tonight?” It’s all you ever ask of him.
“Yes.”
“Good, then we can eat breakfast in the morning and I can convince you to stop doing work at night.” You press your cheek into his chest and gently squeeze your arms around his waist. “Right?”
Xiao can’t think of any reason to say no. His lips find the top of your head and he rests his body against your own.
“Right.”
Puppy Love!
Diluc x fem!reader
Cw: none.
He’s been yearning from the start. When you were little and your father would bring you to the winery. He caught sight of you once as you stomped on the grapes. Laughing and giggling. Your smile caught his eye, sending unfamiliar emotions overwhelming his little brain making him panic. He thought he was dying!
He avoided you then. It took some prodding from Adelinde for him to finally open up about his symptoms. To which she couldn’t help but laugh. When his father came home he talked to Diluc about it. He explained that he was in love, that these feelings are normal and nothing to be ashamed of.
Crepus tried to encourage him not to stay stagnant, in the end you two became friends. Strangely the game he wanted to play most with you was house, and he insisted you were the mom and he the dad,Kaeya always as the baby. It was amusing for Crepus and Adelinde seeing him be so protective at such a young age.
Surprisingly though, even as you aged his feelings didn’t disappear. In fact it got worse. Now a young teenager, going through hormones and workouts, he strived to be big and strong so you would fawn over him as you did the other knights. He showed off more, even staying up doing curl ups in hopes he’d get the hardest abs known to men. Always trying to find some excuse to show off his strength when you were around. But now that you were older you figured out he liked you. You giggled and smiled in ways that drove him crazy on purpose. You wanted to beckon him to confess, you liked him too! But he kept putting it off. Deep down Diluc was scared of his love for you. But he promised he’d do it someday! He’d make you his, you two would be wed and bounded for eternity!
His 18th birthday wasn’t what he thought. Nor what you did. Everything changed. Everything. Kaeya suddenly avoided his home after Crepus’s death. He seemed distressed and frustrated. Jean seemed stressed out more than ever. You ended up getting closer to those two in that time. Sure you two played together but you had been busy learning a new trade. You had been studying and just received a acceptance letter from Sumeru. But you couldn’t share in your excitement, it felt wrong to. So you left saying goodbye to Kaeya and Jean.
You put all your energy into studying in Sumeru. You refused to think about Diluc and worry about him. You had wasted your life and childhood pinning for him, did he even love you afterall? Had your flirty advances been misguided. His change in confidence been a oversight? You were heartbroken in many ways. You were sad for Diluc, losing his father, confused about his relationship with Kaeya the brother he was stuck to like glue, and his sudden departure and withdrawal from the Knights. You dated in Sumeru, you wanted to distract yourself, wanted to bury those feelings. You socialized and made friends. You were admired greatly and loved sure but you had wanted it to be him deep down. Wanted him to finally say those words.
When you returned to Mondstadt things had also changed again. Of course you knew, Jean became Acting Grandmaster, Kaeya was now the Calvary Captain, and… Diluc was back? Now it was awkward between you two. He had a face so cold you wondered if he hated something as simple as breathing. It pained you to see him like this. So you focused your attention else were, putting your degree to good use in whatever. It also meant you didn’t visit the Winery much. You couldn’t really bare to go either, it was just too much for you.
Strangely Diluc didn’t seem to approach or even acknowledge you until he noticed a Fatui agent flirting with you one day. You weren’t too into it but hey you have needs too! The guy seemed to get too bold way too quickly. One night at Angel’s share you noticed him glaring him down as he chatted with you, until finally he got a bit rowdy when you said you didn’t feel good. Quickly said agent found himself thrown out upon the first protest out of his mouth.
“Are you okay?” Diluc asked as he walked back to you. You couldn’t help but feel nervous, there wasn’t too many guests tonight.
“Yes in fine. I just drank.. a bit much..” you said, your speech a little slurred. He seemed worried.
“Hold on let me get you something.” He said leaving briefly, he came back with water. “Drink, you’ll feel better.” You did so. Your cheeks were rosy, was it from the alcohol or him? Oh god when did he get so tall? He seemed so hot now! Not just because of his vision too.
“T-thanks. It wasn’t that big of a deal.” You said smiling.
“It was though. I noticed him taking out a vial and I had to get him out. I’ll make sure he never comes back in here.” Diluc spoke with such certainty then. That shaky overconfidence replaced with a more secure and strong voice. You couldnt help but oogle him.
“Do you think you could walk me home after this? I just want to make sure nothing bad happens.” You asked, your hand moved a inch closer to his as you drank some more water.
“Of course, you’ll have to wait till closing though. But I’m more than willing to escort you home.” He said with certainty. You couldn’t help but play with your hair a bit, maybe it was more than the alcohol making you feel more attracted to him, he was quite handsome in that jacket.. those gloves too.. and his arms!
“Of course of course. Although with the fatui being so… active maybe its best I avoid my house for now. Unfortunately the Hotel is all sold out.” You played up your distress noticing how his hair seemed to poof uo at the hint of your fear. As if he was ready to scoop you into his arms and carry you off. Or maybe it’s wishful thinking. But you spent genuine years and decades pining for him so you didn’t have much to lose now.
“You can stay at the Winery for tonight. Don’t worry about anything, Adelinde and I will work something out. We have plenty of guest rooms for you to stay in. I’m certain she’d also be glad to see you again.” He said, his face hid any emotions but his eyes gave him away. You realized he was far more expressive if you just focused on his fiery red eyes. He seemed excited to take you home, almost far too eager. You smiled the same smile that sent him falling head over heels all those years ago, chuckling slightly.
“Oh I’ve heard. I’ve just been too busy to visit. I trust she’s doing well right?” Carefully you moved your hand closer to his. You tried not to look at it but from the corner you could see only a little gap.
“She has been a bit annoyed recently. Apparently her two new hires aren’t too diligent and she often has to make them redo their tasks. She complains they gossip too much.” He says. You smile.
“Oh? Isn’t she a gossip herself?” You said recalling from memory how she loved to talk about the latest drama. Your finger stretched out to gently touch his. He seemed to stiffen.
“Yes but she says that she knows how to balance it. From what I’ve seen she’s right, they often just stand and chat alot. But what about you? I heard you went to Sumeru to study correct?” He asked, his hand moving away slightly making you annoyed.
“Well yeah. Honestly it was quite exhausting. And so pricey too! I ended up often having to forage for food more than i’d like and I ended up accidentally taking hallucinogenic mushrooms once because I didn’t bother to research what was edible and not.” You watched him smile. “But i did have some fun, I went on my first date.” You watched his smile fade as he seemed to grow jealous.
“Oh?” He said.
“Yeah, i had plenty of suitors then, a few nights here and there. It was nice. I’m not in anything committed right though.” You moved your hand closer, this time he didn’t move his. He seemed to be overthinking it. You spotted his brows furrowing.
“What about you? Have you dated anyone?” You asked. He shook his head. “Really?!” You couldn’t hold your surprise.
“Yes. Well I was a bit… busy doing other things.. but nowadays there just isn’t any one quite fit for me.” He said, he seemed to eye you though, you felt emboldened by this. Your hand moving ontop of his.
“If you wait too long you might pass up the opportunity.” You say with a wink. You could hardly believe this was the same man who once fell off his horse because he wanted to impress you. His other hand on yours.
“I-god you’re so beautiful.” He said as if he’d been holding that back for so long. You giggled.
“Really? I’m probably a mess right now. I didn’t really put much care into my appearance today.” You say dismissively.
“No no no. You’re stunning. You’ve always been so beautiful. I just… sometimes it feels like I can’t take my eyes off of you.” He admits. You blush, is finally going to confess?
Unfortunately he seems to get cold feet. Clearing his head and pulling away as he clears his throat. You get annoyed, just how long is planning on waiting here?!
“I-its late. I should start closing.” He says. You sigh defeatedly.
“I understand. Just don’t keep me waiting for too long otherwise I’ll just wander out myself.” You say. He stopped then.
“Actually there is something I’ve been meaning to ask.” He says pausing. You shot straight up In excitement. “I’d like to get dinner with you if that’s alright.” He said. You smiled, his eyes looking upon you with such love. You knew his plan as he finally got the courage.
“Lets make it a date shall we?” You said teasingly. He blushed.
“I-uh… if you would like to sure.” He said nervously smiling. You stood up to his level and pressed a kiss to his cheek boldly. “O-oh i didn’t realize you were this into me.”
“Buddy, you’ve been stringing me along for years now. You aren’t going to get all shy on me now.” You said gently patting his cheek.
“I-i feel like a idiot now.. if i had known you had felt the same I could’ve avoided so much heartbreak.” He sighed as it all came down on him. “Wait… why didn’t you confess then?”
“I wanted you to! I thought you would look the cutest all flustered and stammering!” You said.
“I would not have been that nervous.”
“You are right now.” You smile smugly.
// Chase me to the ends of this world //
Tumblr media
the man you love has decided to chase you, how dare you make a call of his feelings and leave him without letting him explain? he is unhappy when finding you, but is determined to talk with you and confess his own feelings. He has no idea what follows after as long as you both handle it together. Tw- angst, misunderstandings, confessions, fluff, some kissing(?!?! me n u when??)
Tumblr media
Zhongli
wc-1075
Even though he promised himself to not chase after Y/n, he couldn’t keep that up anymore after the second month. He could only see their presence everywhere no matter what he did though his busy working days.
Signing papers? He would always think Y/n would burst into the room at any given second and drag him off to go accompany with whatever they needed help with. Drinking tea? He could only ever think of their past conversations, their laughs and smiles. Talking with Tartaglia? He could only reminisces their pointless bickering with the harbinger as he watched them with a smile.
He would constantly remind himself that they were no longer there in Liyue to come pester him or fill his days with joy, or ask him of anything anymore. He would no longer be able to experience that until he forced himself to get up and make things right himself.
As soon as the second month of Y/n missing from his normal days, he got up and left telling Hu Tao of his departure, but nothing more, Zhongli just couldn't take it anymore. The first person he would question would be Barbatos seeing how Y/n thought of the young-looking god as a brother.
Before he could even pass through Stone Gate, there stood a bard clad in green, “Barbatos,” he spoke lowly, and the bard looked up with a small smile, “Rex Lapis, what a surprise! Now, why are you entering my nation?”
Zhongli closed his eyes while crossing his arms, stating his reason out loud would be rather embarrassing, but for the sake of finding his dear quicker, he would put that aside, “I’m in search of Y/n, do you have any information of their whereabouts?” Venti let out a small laugh and motioned for the ex-archon to follow after him as they traveled through the land of freedom.
“Y/n came here a bit ago, saying they couldn’t bare to be in Liyue anymore, any idea why?” Zhongli didn’t say anything as Venti turned to look at him for a second before he continued to lead the way, “Y/n should be at Windrise around this time,” he mentioned as they finally made it past Dawn Winery.
“When you see Y/n, please just take to them,” Zhongli nodded as the bard nodded to himself, “Then I trust you will be able to journey safely the rest of the way then?” Zhongli nodded once more, “You need not to worry about me Barbatos, once I talk with Y/n, hopefully we will return home together.”
Venti let out a small laugh, “Then this is where we part, it was nice seeing you again old man,” just as Zhongli was about to retaliate the little man was gone in a whisp of the wind leaving the ex-archon to shake his head as he continued on his journey to the large tree.
The closer he got, the more his heart had hammered against his chest threatening to fall out, his hands got hot and wanted to pull off his gloves, but he shook the thought away as he began to think of what he would even say when he finally found Y/n.
A simple ‘I’m sorry’ was definitely not good enough to say, but he knew for sure, his feelings would be voiced before the day would end. No matter what ridiculous lengths he had to prove his feelings, he would do anything for them.
Once arriving at the tree, he could see their figure, it took everything in his body to not just run and engulf them in a hug. Their beautiful face was contorted into one of confusion as they looked up from their book to see him of all people, “Zhongli?”
He shook his head as they began to stand up, and instead took a seat next to them, “Why are you here?” Zhongli let out a sigh as he took their hand and pressed a kiss to the back of their hand, “You left me a letter, and didn’t allow me to explain myself dear,” Y/n frowned as they pulled their hand back.
“Then explain,” the muttered as Zhongli nodded with a small sigh, “During the Lantern Rite, me and the Traveler were talking casually, anything and everything came into mind, then little Paimon asked about relations to you,” Zhongli felt his cheeks heat up the more he talked. “And when I went to apologize to you the next day, knowing of the conversation I had the night before, I could hardly look at you.”
Y/n was frowning still, but then Zhongli took their hands in his, “Y/n dear, you promised to be there by my side all those years ago, I never told you before, but I do indeed love you,” Y/n shook their head with small tears in their eyes. “Why now? Why are you barely telling this to me now?”
Zhongli sighed as he brought them into a hug, “I thought I was obvious, but I guess not, and before you left Y/n,” They looked up at him as he gave them a small smile, “I was taking up more work so I could clear my week earlier so I could make it up to you,” their lips parted as they stared up at him. “I was planning on confessing then my dear.”
They let out a groan as they melted into his arms, “I’m an idiot,” they muttered as he squeezed them as a laugh slipped past his lips, “A little bit, but I’m glad to have told you now.” Y/n looked up at him and reached up placing a small kiss to his cheek. “I’m glad too Zhongli, Morax, or Rex Lapis, cause now I have you here with me now.”
A glow in his eyes made them smile, “They’re all you, but different, it doesn’t mean I love you any less, no matter what,” Zhongli buried his face into their shoulder, “You're too good to me my dear.” He glanced at them with a look in his eyes that they had never seen before.
"May I kiss you dear?" Y/n felt their face was on fire as they nodded slowly as his words as he cupped their face in his hands, and closed his eyes leaning to brush his lips against theirs, making sure that this time, he would do everything in his power to keep them happy and by his side until the end of his days.
Diluc Ragnvindr
wc-1025
Everyday Diluc would wake up, get dressed, go to work, and hope to see Y/n there, and each time he had gotten his hopes up, it would be shattered the moment Charles had shaken his head. He counted the days since they left, never failing to mark each day off on his calendar, until a full year had passed. Instead, he knew if he wanted to see the one, he held dear to his heart, he would have to track them down.
And he did, he went back to past letters to dig up the bittersweet conversations they had, and then he finally had the information he had been looking for, their homeland, Inazuma. He bit his lip but nodded to himself as he packed a bag for his trip to the far land. It didn’t matter, he knew the reason why they had fled here to Monstadt, so he must have hurt them terribly if they went back home.
When setting foot in the foreign land, he knew he had his work cut out for him if he was going to track them down, so he asked around, but being in a new place and knowing no one, he only had one reliable source. “Ad Astra Abyssosque, oh, Master Diluc, you’re a long way from home.”
Katheryne, the only one to know nearly everything about nearly everyone, Diluc let a sigh escape past his lips, “I think you already know why I’m here,” the woman nodded, “Y/n L/n, right?” He nodded as she gave a small laugh, “Their home is in Ritou, you can find the L/n’s estate there.”
And off he went without another word, no matter how tired he was from his boat ride here, he was determined to talk with them before finding a place to stay for the night. Talking with Y/n and making things right was his top priority. A semi-familiar family crest was carved into wood, and he knew he seen it before and darted to the front door.
Knocking on it, he waited for a few minutes until a short woman with short hair, and e/c eyes opened the door, he knew he found the right place, “Uhm, is Y/n L/n here?” The woman nodded, “Who are you?” The woman closed the door as she exited the door, and the man moved to the side as he watched her. “Diluc Ragnvindr, I am a... a friend of Y/n’s.”
“Ah, the one who broke their heart,” she stated sarcastically, “I should harm you boy for breaking my child’s heart and making them come back here, but I got to see them again... So, I will allow you to speak with them, be glad their father is out the picture or else things would’ve been worse for you.”
“Take off your boots before you enter,” he did as he was told as a small boy lead him elsewhere, “This is N/n’s room! See you later,” he ran off as Diluc stared at the door for a bit before lightly knocking on the door, “Come in,” a small voice that he knew by heart made him hesitate for a second.
When he slid open the door, their back was faced from them as they were doing some little girl’s hair, “What do you want?” They asked, although their voice was soft, he knew that they had no idea who he was exactly. They were brushing the little girl’s hair and had a hair pin in the corner of their mouth.
“Hey Y/n...” The pin fell from their mouth as their hold on the little girl’s hair faltered at their head whipped over to him. “Y-You...” They glanced back at the girl, and sighed before moving their hands randomly in Diluc’s eyes, “Yuki-chan, please, uhm, could you give me and my friend a moment?” The little girl nodded with a smile as she grabbed the brush from their hand and left without a word.
“Why did you come here?” Diluc opened his mouth to speak as he looked at them, which made it a bit harder. They were dressed in traditional clothing instead of the clothes they were used to seeing them wear in Mondstadt, so they looked absolutely beautiful/handsome to him now. “I missed you...”
Their heart skipped a beat as they turned around to hide their flustered expression from him, “That a bit out of character of you Master Diluc,” Y/n mumbled and they heard the floorboards creak under his weight as he moved to them. “I’m serious Y/n, I missed you,” his hands had wrapped around their waist as he buried his face into their shoulder.
Y/n could feel his hair tickling their cheek as it suddenly felt hotter in the room, “I love you,” their heart skipped a beat as they turned to him abruptly, “What?” His eyes were soft, and his face was as red as his hair, “I love you Y/n,” he muttered once more as his hands cupped their face. “Please... Can I kiss you?”
Hesitantly they nodded as his lips brushed against their softly, as soon as it started it ended leaving both of them looking at each other bashfully. “I’m sorry I should’ve told you sooner...” He muttered as his arms encased them into a hug, “I was talking to Traveler that night about you when you were supposed to meet us, I was going to introduce you to them.”
His body was warm against theirs and his hug was so calming and comforting they could melt right in his arms, “I’m sorry I never told you, I wish I did sooner,” Y/n’s arms squeezed him as they let out a small laugh, “It’s okay, I made a rash decision,” they could feel him press a kiss to their head.
“Would you be willing to come back with me?” Both hearts were beating rapidly at the question, one in fear, and the other in near excitement, “Yes, archons, I miss Mondstadt’s food,” he let out a sigh of relief, then a chuckle. “Nothing else?” They shook their head as an innocent look was upon their face. “Oh, you hurt me Y/n.”
Kamisato Ayato
wc- 1090
Time seemed to move slowly, and he knew not of what to do, his heart felt heavy knowing that Y/n was no longer in Inazuma. He could go after no matter how much he wanted to because of his work. He was drowning in work, it was suffocating as he stayed up countless nights to complete the papers, only to pass out over the work.
How was he ever going to go after Y/n if he couldn’t completely complete his work? After another night full of work, and him passing out over the papers, he woke up and found himself in bed, everything was cleaned, and most of all, all his papers were done. With wide eyes he turned to the door as it opened, in strolled in his dear sister and their housekeeper.
“Oh, brother, you’re awake now!” Ayaka cheered and Thoma had presented breakfast to the siblings and made his way out the door to give them some space, “Ayaka, why is everything in my room suddenly looking as if everything is done?”
Ayaka let out a giggle, “Me and Thoma decided to help you out a bit. You need a break, and I know how much you miss Y/n, so me and Thoma decided to help you out a bit and do the rest of your work until you get back from your vacation,” Ayato furrowed his eyebrows, “Vacation?”
Ayaka nodded, “You’re going to Y/n’s homeland, we hope you rekindle with them, now hurry up and pack your bags, your boat ride leaves at noon,” he was still at a loss for words as the rest of his day went by as a blur.
But by nightfall, he found himself in Sumeru with a woman with dark hair and yellow highlights, blue eyes, named Dehya and she was his escort. He had made small talk with her, and as they made their way to the streets of Sumeru. “Uhm so, Dehya,” the woman turned her head to him, as he spoke lowly. “Do you know anyone by the name of Y/n L/n?”
The woman turned forward again, “And why do you want to know that?” Ayato sighed as she lead him up the spiral walkway up to an inn, “They are a dear friend of mine that had fled from our... well my homeland, and they came back here.” Dehya placed a hand on her hip, “Rest for the night and I’ll offer up some information up over breakfast for a price.”
The night was filled with Ayato restlessly waiting for the sun to rise, tossing and turning all night but somehow managed to get some shut eye. Waking up in the morning begrudgingly, he dressed for the day, and was met by Dehya waiting outside his little room. “Y/n is actually a friend of my girlfriend’s, so we’ll head there and get some information of their whereabouts.”
Through Sumeru they traveled, day and night camping out a bit before journeying further, by the third day, they made it to Aaru Villiage, the tall mountains hiding the place, and Ayato was nearly greeted with a spear to his face. Heterochromia eyes stared down at him as Dehya had to calm the unknown woman down.
“Candace! He’s a friend, please,” with that she let her polearm disappear as she gave a small smile, “Very well, why did you come here then foreigner? Usually, people don’t venture out to the desert for nothing.” On the walk, Ayato explained his situation with a flustered look upon his face.
“Oh, I should have every right to stab you with my polearm for hurting Y/n, then,” Dehya stepped in front of her girlfriend with a nervous grin waving her arms around. “Hon! He’s here to apologize to Y/n, not make things worse!” Candace scoffed as she lead the two to the village, “Y/n’s here actually, I’ll give you two only ten minutes to talk then you go back to Sumeru City.”
Ayato sighed, “That’s all the time I need,” she lead him to a house in the middle of the village, and opened the door, “Ten minutes,” she stated once more and Ayato inhalded deeply, until someone rounded the corner making his heart stop in his chest momentarily, “Candace you’re ba.... Ayato...? What are... What are you doing here?”
His body was frozen, he couldn’t move, and he had no idea what to say to them after not seeing them for weeks, “I... I came for you Y/n,” they let out a scoff as they crossed their arms, “And why would you do that? I thought I wrote to not come after me.” Ayato shook his head as he stepped closer to them, “You only stated you were a coward, and you said nothing about chasing after you.”
Their eyes hardened into a glare, “Well, you have to go back, aren’t you busy with all your work anyways?” Ayato sighed, “I wouldn’t be here if my work wasn’t being handled by someone I trust; Ayaka decided to take over for me until I get back.” Y/n shook their head as they crossed their arms, “I doesn’t make sense, why did you come here to find me?”
Ayato let out a chuckle as he held out his hand motioning for them to take it, hesitantly they slipped their hand in his as he pulled them in his embrace. “And I thought you were smarter than that darling,” Y/n felt their cheeks burn as they shook their head, “Shut up commissioner,” he pressed a kiss upon their head.
“What about the traveler?” Ayato shook his head as his hand had began to pet their hair, “What of them?” Y/n felt their throat tighten as the words slipped past their lips, “Don’t you have feeling for them?” The commissioner shook his head, “None for them, but for the very person who stands before me love...”
Their heart thumped rapidly against their chest as Y/n looked up at the man with an expectant look. “If you want me to say it out loud, then say it dear, otherwise it’ll just linger up in the air,” Y/n sighed as they looked up at him with a flustered face making his own heart flutter in his chest, “Please... Voice your feelings out loud, so I know you are genuine Ayato...”
His hand cupped their cheek as his eyes continued to stare into theirs with warmth, love, and adoration, “I love you Y/n,” and with that his lips pressed against theirs softly to further prove his love for them.
Alhaitham
wc-1014
He knew not what to do since Y/n left, everything seemed to get him more irritated as the days passed without their presence in his daily routine. He found himself missing them no matter how much he tried to push those thoughts and feelings to the back of his mind.
He knew if word got out about their absence, he knew that scholar that delivered the letter would probably push all the blame to him, so for the sake of not having to deal with that much later down the line, he begrudgingly sent off to where he knew they would reside. Their homeland Liyue, was luckily the neighboring nation, so it shouldn’t take that long, right?
Wrong, it was so much more mountainous than what he was used to, rocks, cliffs, and more hostile beasts were present in every turn and path he took. He just wanted to go back home and never return to the outside world, but by some miracle he managed to safely make it to Liyue Harbor without any further complications.
The scenery was new, and he would be lying if he said he wasn’t curious about the land, but he needed to focus on the situation on hand; find Y/n, talk with them, and hopefully return to Sumeru with them. He sighed as he walked down the street people walking by and oogling at him; tall, handsome and foreign, who wouldn’t stare at him as he walked by?
He needed to rest after traveling for days to make it here, so he took a seat in front of a man telling a story about the god to the lands he was in; The God of contracts, Rex Lapis or Morax, he went by many names. A man in front dressed in browns, golds, and oranges stood out to the scribe’s eye.
Although he didn’t really want to speak with anyone or socialize, he shook the feeling away as he looked over, only to see the man already glancing at him, “You seem troubled and in need of some guidance, yes?” Alhaitham felt his hearft stop for a second, now that was scarily accurate, he nodded curtly.
He motioned for the scribe to sit in front of him, “Tell me of your troubles stranger.” and with that, Alhaitham shared his story reluctantly, trying to mask his heartfelt feelings for the one he was searching for with some little white lie. “The way you speak of this person, you seem to hold them in high reguard,” oh, so much for hiding his feelings. Now being found out by a stranger was quite embarrassing.
“And, I also have a feeling of who you speak of, dear little Y/n, they have bright/dark eyes, s/t, and they are about y/h,” Alhaitham nodded at a loss for words, that was exactly who he was searching for, how did this stranger know so much? “Well, the last I seen them today,” the scribe leaned in to hear the man’s words, “They were getting commissions from Katheryne.”
He nodded as he stood up, “I thank you for your assistance... What is your name?” The man took a sip from his cup, “I am Zhongli,” his eyes darted up as he looked at the scribe, “Now off you do scribe,” Alhaitham walked a bit before turning back only to see the man walking in the opposite direction, how did he know?
Children ran past him, as he kept his eyes forward, only to feel someone bump into him from behind, “Oh, sorry,” they muttered as they went past him, and up some stairs, but he stopped in the path as his eyes went to their figure, the very person he was searching for, and without wasting a thought he followed them.
They were speaking to Katheryne, he waited until they were done collecting their rewards, and tapped them on the shoulder, their smile fell when they turned to him. “What are you doing here?” Alhaitham furrowed his eyebrows, “Why did you run away then? If you didn’t them maybe I wouldn't have to chase you down to another nation because you just assume things,” Y/n scoffed as they walked away from him.
Before they could get far he grabbed their wrist and led them to an alleyway and blocked the way for them to leave, “Let me go! Archons, I don’t want to talk with you!” Their eyes filled with tears as they glared up at him, he nearly faltered, but shook his head. “No, you’re not leaving until we talk Y/n.”
“Why do we even need to talk? I left because I didn’t want to talk about anything, I just wanted to come back home,” they sobbed on the floor pathetically as Alhaitham kneeled in front of them and cupped their face wiping away their tears, “And why would you assume my feelings for anyone?”
They looked up at him as he wiped their tears, “I don’t love Kaveh like that, he was my friend and I wanted to return our friendship, but I can’t force that upon him,” Alhaitham wrapped his arms around them, their face buried into his shoulder, “I don’t care what stupid nonsense I have to say in order for you to return back home with me, just please don’t leave me again like this...”
They could feel him press a kiss against their forehead, they looked up at him as their face flushed no on longer flushed from their crying. “I-I don’t understand...” Alhaitham sighed as he sat on the ground in front of them, “Do I have to say in all of the languages in Teyvat Y/n?” He asked, a bit irritated by their inability to fully comprehend the situation.
“No... I just want to hear you say it...” Oh, they just need confirmation and reassurance, his eyes softened as he nodded and fully brushed away all their tears, “Well Y/n, you could’ve just said that” his lips pressed against their nose a small smile displayed upon his face as he looked them in their eyes. “I love you Y/n.”
we have reached the end of this mini series, sorry no pt. 2 for other characters, but i hope you all enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing <3
Let You Go
Notes from the crypt: Found this in my wip collection and decided to finish it, it kinda corresponds to an idea I had so I guess we can consider this a prequel to that idea. I'll be adding another chapter to this so look forward to that! Edit: Chapter 2 here
Tags: GN!Reader, angst, themes of betrayal and abandonment, Aether named as the traveler, terrible description of a fight lmao, hurt/comfort from an unlikely place
Summary: You stood too close to the pyro that was Diluc Ragnvindr and got burned, didn't they tell you that ice melts?
Tumblr media
“I’ve got you… Aether”
You jolted upright in a cold sweat, heart pounding and pants escaping your lips while you took in your surroundings. The moonlight filtering through the curtain provided little light to the basic room you were provided, yet that did nothing to ease your nerves from the nightmare you just woke up from. Mind alight with activity, you can still see the look in Diluc’s eyes when he abandoned you, when he chose to save the traveler and left you to rot. Gritting your teeth in anger, you throw your pillow across the room with a frustrated scream that turned into sobs while you curled in on yourself, ignoring the door opening and the footsteps approaching you.
You waited years for him, and he didn’t even hesitate to leave you to die. You didn’t blame him, for as long as you knew him, Diluc Ragnvindr was always closed off about his emotions, rarely choosing to let his walls down around you. You first met him when he was a fresh Knight of Favonius, full of a fighting spirit that inspired you to try and join also. While he was off doing knights business, however, you were often stuck reading grimoires and practicing magic with your mother. You attained your vision rather early, around the same time Diluc did, and while you did want to join the Knights of Favonius, your mother had convinced you to begin your journey on spellcasting and witchcraft instead, a tradition that’s been passed down for generations in your family. It was a decision that wasn’t without its rewards however, as you were still asked to visit the Knights headquarters on behalf of your traveling mother to assist them in matters once you had become more comfortable with your craft. You’d been pleasantly surprised when you were teamed up with Diluc, it gave you the opportunity to break the ice and really get to know the young redhead, and sure enough a friendship soon blossomed. It almost became normal that you joined Diluc on escort missions or even helped him with stealth missions, you even saved his ass a few times when you both were ambushed. You two were unstoppable in the battlefield, with his fighting skills and your magic, Jean was pleased every time you two returned either unharmed or not seriously injured. Diluc opened up a little more to you, even introducing you to his brother and his father after inviting you to dinner at the winery. It was an experience you’d never forget, the echoes of laughter and playful banter still playing in the back of your memories, memories of simpler times. With time, you and Diluc became inseparable, it was rare to see him without you and vice versa, you two had made a spot in each other’s lives after all. You were often the one who would knock on Diluc’s door at the knights headquarters with goodies in your hands, convincing him to take a break from paperwork and just relax with you, but it also wasn’t uncommon that Diluc would seek you out in the library to drag you outside and get some actual sunlight because you’ve been in there since last night now come on so we can eat. Crepus gets a kick out of seeing you at the winery almost every day, your hand tightly encased in Diluc’s and he doesn’t miss the way his son’s eyes were avoiding his and a faint blush was blooming on his cheeks. Crepus had loved having you around, you were good company to him and his sons, and he would be a liar if he said he didn’t appreciate your magical help in the grape fields. Little by little you made an impact on Diluc’s life, and the line between friendship and romance was beginning to blur, it was only a matter of time before either of you began to wonder if it was normal for friends to look at each other as if they’re the only person in the world, with adoration in their eyes.
It was a revelation that came a little too late while you ran with Kaeya towards the broken carriage that was holding Crepus and Diluc. Just moments before you were sitting in Angel’s Share with the three men and the knights, a chorus of congratulations and good wishes to the redhead that was recently promoted to Cavalry Captain. You still wonder if you could have somehow helped saved the elder Ragnvindr if you had joined them on the journey back instead of sticking behind with Kaeya. That night was full of anguish and put a huge wedge in between your friendship with Diluc, as he had pushed you away too when you had only tried to help. Still, you waited for him, the years that he had spent away from the city of freedom you waited for him, using your studies as a distraction until he returned. You welcomed him with open arms and a wide smile, but you could still feel it, the wedge that’s still uncomfortably lodged. You ignore it however, resigning to start to chip away at his walls little by little again, you’ll wait as long as you needed to, for him. You still visited him at the winery, trying to catch up on the years you missed as well as helping tend to the grapes, you can’t help the momentary feeling of hurt when you used a magical trick to water the fields all at the same time, it was a trick that Crepus loved. You’d also visit him at the tavern on the days you knew he’d be working, sitting at the bar sipping on the latest concoction he’s come up and giving him your honest review. You were seriously thinking things were starting to look up, until a blonde traveler stepped foot in Mondstadt, and you ended up being expelled out of both the city of freedom and Diluc’s life. Aether was a sweetheart, his soul shined brighter than anyone you’ve ever seen, always ready to help those in need. His ambitions were clear, he wanted to find his sister no matter what the cost, and you respected that. Much like almost every person he’s met since arriving on Teyvat, you told him you were simply a call away if he required your assistance, and you thought that was that. You weren’t expecting Diluc to latch onto him so quick, nor were you expecting to see his walls crumble before the outlander but still stand strong before you. You learned to be observant when you picked up your family’s craft, sharp eyes were needed to pick up messages from unseen forces after all, so you didn’t miss the way Diluc acted much differently with Aether than he did with you, he acted the same way his younger self did when he was with you, all smiles and disguised compliments that made your stomach coil in jealousy. Your requests of apple cider turned into shots of liquor that made even Charles watch you with worry, a question he knows he shouldn’t ask at the tip of his tongue, yet you push aside those feelings and continue to wait until he’s ready.
Months after catching the attention of a certain wine tycoon, Aether had asked for your help with one of his commissions, it detailed that a magic user would be able to uncover hidden tracks that elemental sight could not perceive, and since Lisa was too busy to attend, you were the next best option. Your heart swelled with momentary pride of being relied on, but that flame was quickly extinguished when Diluc appears moments later, claymore sharpened and ready and a shocked expression matching yours.
“What are you doing here?”, there’s a hint of irritation in his voice that makes your brows furrow, a lump forming in your throat that you try desperately to swallow.
“Oh, I asked them to accompany us! Their magic could help us a lot”, Aether responds for you, still as cheerful as ever before he’s heading towards the city gates. Diluc looks you over with a blank expression and you don’t know whether to cry or return it with a dirty look before he’s catching up to the traveler, taking his place by his side. Defeated, you follow behind the two, blood boiling with a mix of emotions over what just happened and also being the third wheel, months of little to no contact and that’s the first thing Diluc says? You’re second guessing if you even wanted to join at that point, but since it was Aether asking for your help then you had to power through. Thankfully you could distract yourself by casting a simple spell to reveal these secret tracks to you, moving in front of them so you could better guide the men to where they could lead. You tried your best to ignore the whispering and giggling from behind, blinking away hot tears that threatened to obscure your vision, your already fragile heart shattering when you hear the unmistakable sound of a kiss followed by Aether giggling. By then you had reached a cliff overseeing a small beach on Stormbearer Point where the trail seemingly ends, and you realize that it was a set up. Turning sharply on your heel, you take the men by surprise when you used a burst of magic to separate them just as a pyro agent turned off his cloaking to swipe at the air where they once stood. He takes a second swipe at you just as you activated your vision to block it and within seconds, he’s become invisible again, prowling for an opening to strike. Eyes darting around, you count the heads of Diluc, Aether and the other two fatui skirmishers they’re currently in combat with, the mix of visions making it hard to see the outline of the invisible enemy, yet you feel frozen in place, hesitant on who’s side to rush to. Your hesitation didn’t go unnoticed as the pyro agent materialized by your side once again, closer than you could anticipate and your scream rips through the air when he slices your side open, the scent of blood invading your senses and making your head spin. You didn’t have a chance to think when you’re forced on the ground after a scorching blade slices along your back, the pain leaving you breathless and writhing. You can still hear the sounds of fighting in the air, lifting your head weakly you witness Diluc’s burst, the magnificent phoenix knocking the skirmishers he and Aether were fighting off their feet so he could rush to the blonde’s side.
“I’ve got you, Aether”, were the words you could barely make out coming from the man who was cradling the traveler so closely to him, and your breath hitches when his red eyes met with yours. His expression was unreadable, even as you use what little strength you have to reach out to him, the pieces of your heart only continue to shatter when he turns around and runs, leaving you helpless at the mercy of the Fatui. You spent years waiting for him, loving him for who he was and prepared to spend every waking moment of your life by his side, and this was how he repays you. He didn’t hesitate when you screamed his name, the hurt and sadness you feel morphing into anger as you screamed until your head felt light and you plopped it back on the ground to stare at the sky, waiting for either the Fatui to finish the job or blood loss to finally take you. You closed your eyes when the pyro agent entered your field of vision, praying to Celestia that wherever you go next may you live a better life before losing consciousness.
You jolted upright in a cold sweat, heart pounding and pants escaping your lips while you took in your surroundings. The moonlight filtering through the curtain provided little light to the basic room you were provided, yet that did nothing to ease your nerves from the nightmare you just woke up from. Mind alight with activity, you can still see the look in Diluc’s eyes when he abandoned you, leaving you to die in favor of Aether. Gritting your teeth in anger, you throw your pillow across the room with a frustrated scream that turned into sobs while curling in on yourself, ignoring the door opening and the footsteps approaching you. Your sobs die down to sniffles while a hand ran through your hair, another pair of hands working to gently undo the bandages on your torso, the pulling of the dressing making you hiss and lift your head from your knees to glance at the hydrogunner legionnaire that somehow gave you a sheepish look from behind his mask, using a little bit of hydro to ease the pain.
“Stay still, little lamb”, you hear the gruff voice of the pyro agent by your side, his fingers in your hair moving to wipe away the tears you’ve shed, almost in an apologetic way. It’s been days since you were taken by the Fatui, they were surprisingly more merciful than you gave them credit for, witnessing your abandonment and choosing to save you since a certain redhead refused to. You initially thought that they were going to use you as ransom, but the way they carefully replaced your bandages and made sure you had a hot meal made you think otherwise, the revelation that you may already be pronounced dead in Mondstadt making your shoulders shake, fresh tears stinging your eyes.
“Hey, none of that… You’re safe now, the Tsaritsa always takes care of her own”, the legionnaire pipes up behind you while he applies fresh ointment on your back and replaces your bandages with fresh ones. The anemo vanguard stands awkwardly beside the legionnaire, large hands serving as the makeshift table for the tools used to help your wounds heal. Always takes care of her own, the statement echoes in your mind while the skirmishers finish up and leave to discard your bloodied bandages, leaving you with the agent that was adamantly wiping your tears away, hands cradling your cheeks.
“Whats going to happen to me?”, you whisper, tired eyes moving up to meet with his mask. He’s silent, head tilting slightly in contemplation before he removes his hands from your face, and you find yourself missing the warmth.
“The Tsaritsa gave you a gift, its time you reached your true potential, little lamb.”
Epitaph: This piece can also be found on AO3. I wanted to wait until the end to disclose that we do have a cryo vision lmao sorry for those who wanted to pop in their hcs of what vision they'd have, but its vital for where I plan on taking this story. The fatui characters will also be given names in the next chapter so I dont have to keep writing legionnaire and vanguard and such. Can I also just say how down bad I am for pyro agents??? I still haven't completed that one quest in Sumeru where you follow one shkdljd
I have a habit that I learned from my mother where if anyone’s lounging next to me with their bare legs, I’ll instinctually start massaging it.
Of course, it only happens with my friends and family. If I ever did it to a stranger I would die @.@
Anyways, acolytes’ reaction xD
Hey hey! I chose a few characters I personally liked to write about, but feel free to send in another ask if I missed the characters you wanted! I also changed the prompt here and there; it’s basically ‘’an unexpected massage’’, hope it’s still alright :)
Note: not proofread, wanted to post it tho
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been a while since you first arrived on Teyvat. Everything is a lot more peaceful and you're able to enjoy your days with relatively little stress.
One of the only chores you needed to do included paperwork. You have an office of your own where you do most of your work, usually with the help of some acolytes. Generally, you'd be at your desk, but today was a couch day. So as one does, you plopped down and patted the seat next to you
Venti is constantly testing how far you'd let him go. He'd hug you, attempt to cuddle up to you, he even tried to sneak in a kiss! So when he'd lounge himself onto the couch it's no surprise that he'd move his legs into your lap. Venti thought you were too occupied with your 'stupid paperwork', so he assumed something like this would bring your attention back to him. He'd be surprised when you'd continue to read the paperwork while your free hand starts to gently massage his leg. His shock passes quickly, and suddenly he doesn’t seem to hate the paperwork as much as before. When you notice that his constant nagging stopped, you look up; Venti isn't usually silent. When he throws a cheeky smile your way, you realise the situation you brought yourself in and get flustered real quick. 'Don't worry your Grace! I'll return the favor any time, ehe!'
Zhongli has no trouble helping you. He liked spending his time with you and felt happy whenever he could aid you in these tasks. His voice was a bonus for you as well, and you always listen carefully when he points out the important parts on the papers. His figure is close to yours and you’d been leaning closer to get a good look at the papers in his hand. Unknowingly to you, you had grasped his free hand in yours and had started to gently massage it. Believe me, he didn’t want you to stop but it was hard to point out things on the paper without a hand. He'd bring the situation to your attention and would give a deep chuckle when he'd see you get flustered. After he further explained the paperwork, he decided to massage your shoulders instead. Perhaps some closer contact would help your focus? 'Do you wish to remove my gloves, Your Grace?'
You were in Mondstadt for the upcoming weeks and decided to visit Diluc at the Dawn Winery. There had been enough time for you to visit the city and other places, but the endless workload still chased you. After procrastinating for a good while, you decided that Diluc could be your motivator! If he’s working, you might feel obligated to work as well! At least, that was the idea. At one point during your stay in his office you invited him to sit on the couch with you. Unfortunately, from that moment forward it’s Diluc that’s unable to work. The moment you moved closer to his figure,- his brain stopped working. He could feel his leg touching yours, -and why did you have to place your hand on his leg to massage him? He was certain you could hear his heartbeat. Are you doing this on purpose? It’s only when you remove your hand after finishing your paperwork that he regains the ability to think. ‘Hey Diluc, you’re not procrastinating right?’ You tease him. He huffs in response and returns his focus on his work, hopefully then you wouldn’t see his face. ‘I’d never.’
Warning: this post contains yandere-themes, including delusional behavior, being held against will, emotional manipulation, and other potential topics. Please read at your own risk!
Yandere!Ayaka with a flirty partner would be like asking for a death sentence. She’s very protective over what’s hers and you are her’s. If you cannot control yourself then she’ll simply have to lock you indoors and remind you who you should be paying attention to. And that’s her and her only.
Ayaka sighed as she paced the room, hands fiddling mindlessly with her fan as she considered what to do. On one hand, she enjoyed having you out and about with her, your lively and flirtatious manner that had initially attracted her to you, but on the other she couldn’t have you acting so wildly, going about flaunting your attention to any breathing thing that walked. “You know, it’s your own fault that you’re in this mess.” Another flutter of her fan shutting against the force of her palm, Ayaka turns her gaze to you. Her eyes catch on the chain secured around your ankles, locking you to the bed frame that you were currently sat on. She didn’t even feel pity at the sight, only shame that it hadn’t been done sooner.
Yandere!Yoimiya would be sort of a 50/50. On one hand, she enjoyed your extroverted behavior, finding it to fit well with her own, but on the other, she didn’t like other people being so fond of you. She believes that you two are soulmates and soulmates should only focus on keeping each other happy.
“You’re my soulmate, you shouldn’t be flirting with anyone but me!” It’s hard to resist Yoimiya’s pout, the way she crosses her arms and still somehow manages to make you feel small and weak. You knew it was your fault, shamelessly flirting with everyone who walked by simply out of habit. It didn’t mean you loved her any less, if anything you loved her as much as someone could in your position. It was simply the freedom it gave you, being constantly weighed down by your ‘soulmate’ was suffocating. Wherever you were, she was there. Whatever you did, she did too. Whatever you thought about, she had to know. You two were soulmates and soulmates share everything.
Yandere!Diluc would not tolerate a flirty partner. He doesn’t care what he has to do, he will break you until you’re nothing but a husk. He’d rather an empty shell than someone too busy making heart eyes at every passerby to pay attention to him. So he gives you one warning, and when you do not comply, he sets you up in a room just for you.
Somewhere under the Dawn Winery, in a room with no windows or light, the only entrance being a hatch in the ceiling, you sit. The room isn’t even big enough for you to stand, having to crawl around on all fours or sit hunched over all the time, it’s painful. You only get fed once a day, if you’re lucky, and it’s never anything sustainable, oftentimes being scraps from Diluc’s own plate. You aren’t even sure how long you’ve been down here, all you remember is why. You had mindlessly flirted with a nearby shopkeeper, something that Diluc had already warned you about. And while he kept himself under wraps until you two finished shopping, as soon as you returned home he made his feelings very clear.
Yandere!Alhaitham doesn’t entirely understand flirting, social cues never being his strong suit. For the most part, as long as it’s kept relatively simple and lowkey, he won’t even pick up on it, believing it’s just another social thing that he doesn’t understand. If he should pick up on them though, he’ll become upset with you, demanding that you cease such foolish actions at once.
“You are foolish to say such things to strangers, you have devoted yourself to me. Act like it.” Alhaitham doesn’t even have to speak in an upset tone to sound harsh, his typical manner of speaking and body language hostile enough as is. It had taken him longer than he’d like to admit to catch on to your flirting, believing your fancy manner of speaking was simply part of who you were. When he did catch on though, he felt an unfamiliar emotion bubbling up inside him, an intense feeling of rage. He was quick to pull you back home, hand holding harshly onto your wrist as he made haste through the crowd. Now that he knew your little tricks he would be sure to put an end to them.
come home
diluc ragnvindr x fem!reader
warnings: so much yearning, fluff, mentions of previous sexual acivites but nothing explicit, mentions of reader being smaller than diluc
in celebration of diluc finally coming home to me not once but fucking twice in the span of a few days after playing this game since it came out😭❤️
Tumblr media
tired muscles begin to warm as the master bedroom of the manor fills with light and you prepare for the day. it is almost always chilly at the winery in the mornings, cool wind from dragonspine freezing the dew drops that cling to the bricks and glass windows, but without diluc by your side it somehow feels even colder.
you shiver at the cool hardwood under your bare feet and the way the morning air hits your skin when you step out of the bathroom after a shower and head towards the large walk in closet.
soft cotton rests against your skin as you slip your arms through one of the many shirts that fill dilucs side of the closet, nimble fingers slowly buttoning it up much like you would do for diluc when he was home. you smile weakly at the memories of your normal morning routine with him, happy at the soft domesticality you both had grown so accustomed to but laced with longing that has built up over the weeks without him by your side.
only a few more days you remind yourself, tucking the long ends of the gray button up into your pants before heading to the vanity. you’ve gone weeks without him by your side and yet these last few days feel like the longest of them all. ever since you received his letter that he’d be returning in a few days time every minute felt like an hour, every hour felt like a day but even if the clock ticked by slowly, it still brought you closer to being with him once again.
a soft knock followed by the call of your name fills the quiet room behind you before the door slowly opens and adelinde walks in. you smile at her through the reflection in the mirror as you attempt to clasp the small necklace diluc had gifted you around your neck, a perfect match to the one he wore under his clothes.
“allow me, my lady,” adelinde is quickly behind you, her skilled and small hands easily grabbing the necklace and clasping it securely for you. she doesn’t stop there in her attempt to help you get ready for the day, while also hoping her closeness helps the yearning within your own heart being without the master of the winery. grabbing the brush on the vanity she combs through your hair, gentle and motherly as she asks about your morning and what assistance you may need throughout the day.
diluc, adelinde and elzer had all assured you that you didn’t need to worry about work around the winery while diluc was away. elzer and adelinde were more than equipped to take over just as they had during the long years diluc was away following his fathers passing but you had insisted on wanting to take some of the load and the staff has been beyond supportive and helpful getting you through the busy days.
“i’ll gather the others and we’ll meet you downstairs to go over today's tasks once you’re ready,” adelinde smiles at you through the mirror as she puts the hairbrush down and then excuses herself, leaving you alone in the large room once again.
your longing heart is all you hear in your shared bedroom now that you’re alone once more, surrounded by every reminder of the man you love without actually getting to be near him. unable to stop yourself, you bring the fabric of his shirt you’re wearing up to your nose and breathe in the scent of wine, oak and bergamot that still lingers on the fibers and whisper into the familiar comfort of your beloved, “only a few more days.”
“oh master diluc!” adelinde exclaims in surprise when she spots that unmistakable mane of red hair in the morning light illuminating the parlor in soft yellows and blues. it was only yesterday the letter had arrived stating he’d be back soon but the trip back was supposed to be days, not one evening. “we hadn’t expected you to be back so soon.”
he offers her a soft welcoming nod. “it was a last minute change but i was able to leave earlier than anticipated.”
“it’s good to have you home. y/n should be down any minute now but you may be able to catch her before she leaves the bedroom.”
and as if on queue, your voice echoes through the main area of the manor as you greet the staff good morning. sweet words that diluc had missed more than he thought he would during the time he was away but he takes them in now, letting the melody of your voice kindle the flames within his heart.
in your hurry to get started for the day you failed to see your beloved talking with adelinde near the sofa between the front door and the side window. you hadn’t even looked in that direction when the staff met you at the bottom of the stairs and you quickly began to delegate tasks and discuss what work needed to be done today in preparation for dilucs return.
not wanting to disturb your work even though every part of him wanted to scoop you into his arms, diluc only admired you from afar, ruby eyes on you and you alone. the way the edges of your eyes crinkle as you smile, the sun catching your hair when you shook your head, the red necklace, a twin to his own, peeking from the first few buttons that were undone on your shirt. well his shirt, he notes with a faint blush on his cheeks. even with the jacket you wore to conceal how big it was on you, he thought it still fit you so perfectly.
“she’s been wearing your shirts almost every day for a week now,” adelinde says with a chuckle, noticing where the eyes of the young master lingered and remembering the first day you wore his clothes. a bit embarrassed you had asked her to help you style it with your own clothing so it didn’t look so out of place. she could only smile as she helped you find a suitable pair of pants and a jacket to go with his shirt. “i think she just wanted some way to be closer to you.”
his heart skips a beat at that, pink lips tugging into a smile. “it’s a feeling i became familiar with on this trip as well.”
Tumblr media
the study was filled with reminders of your beloved as well and you had kept everything the same since he left; carefully cleaning and putting away the quill and ink similar to how he would each night when the paperwork was finished. you had watched his meticulous way of cleaning the quill you had gifted him a thousand times during your time together and it seemed too odd to put them away any other way. even the red gem accessory that normally rested on his tie, that fell off him in your hurry to get him out of his clothes the night before he left, had remained on the top of the desk. it caught your attention so many times, like a reminder that he still existed in your world and would be close to you again soon.
you settled into the chair behind the desk with a sigh. yes, he’d be back soon but you didn’t want to wait anymore and like you’ve been doing for the last few weeks, you mentally kick yourself for not fighting harder to go with him. he was stubborn in his wishes for you to stay home in comfort and most importantly, safety and when he let slip the worry he held, leaving his heart on his sleeve, you weren’t able to fight it any longer.
“i won't let you convince me to stay home next time ‘luc,” you speak into the universe, reaching for the first bit of paperwork you have to get through today. maybe the wind would carry your promise to him and -
“is that so?”
your eyes shoot up from the paperwork to the open study door at the sound of your beloved voice laced with a playfulness. was he really here after so long? even when you saw him leaning against the door frame with his arm crossed, a soft smile on his lips, you still wondered if your eyes were playing tricks on you. he said he’d be a few more days..
“perhaps i was a bit too stubborn not letting you join me but i won’t be leaving again anytime in the foreseeable future,” despite his pink cheek, he can’t bring himself to break from your gaze - not when it’s been so long since he was able to see it in more than just his dreams. “i.. don’t want to be away from home.. from you, any longer than i have to b - oof-”
the impact of your body against his nearly knocks the wind from the both of you and has him taking a step back to steady you both as his arms wrap around you. you had moved so quickly he didn’t have time to widen his stance before you were already leaping for him but still, he caught you with his incredible strength, his body tightly wrapped in your embrace.
“‘luc.. i-i’ve missed you so much,” you voice is wobbly and so hard to find but no words needed to be spoken, for your feelings were returned in the most earnest of ways.
warm tears stain the fabric of his coat as he pulls you close into him, one strong arm wrapped around you, fingering sinking into your soft skin keeping you pressed close while the other tangles in your hair. slowly, with you in the safety of his arms, he enters the study, lightly kicking the door closed with his heel, leaving only you two to bask in this moment.
neither of you know how long you stand there, holding each other, before your legs unwrap from his slim waist and he helps you find steady ground. though he never lets you leave his embrace or his proximity. he couldn’t bear to be far from you for a moment. leaning down to meet you, you lift on your toes to meet catch halfway, your lips meeting in a passionate, searing, kiss.
warmth fills you to the brim at the feeling of his lips on yours, the familiar taste of him on your tongue. you hold onto him so tightly, fingers getting lost in the sea of his red locks and pulling him closer. with his own unyielding grip on you, your feet barely touch the ground the more kisses you share and he holds you within his strong, desperate grip; proof of how much he has missed you too.
you only part ways when the air between you is so hot it’s near impossible to breathe but still you can’t part from one another. your feet find flat ground as he puts you down, foreheads pressed together, chest to heaving chest, but your legs are too unsteady to keep you upright and you hold onto the lapel of his jacket for stability.
his heavy breaths brush against your skin, his scent and minty breath flooding your senses, vermillion bangs ticking your forehead and cheeks. he takes deep breaths as he attempts to speak, “i’ve missed you so much y/n.” he confesses. the tip of his nose rubs against yours as gently as a butterfly's flapping wing, thick red lashes fluttering closed as he soaks you in. “i can’t bear to be away from you that long again.”
Daffodils | Yandere Diluc x Reader
You can thank @j0succ for this one honestly bc they've put me in a very Diluc mood lately (A VERY GOOD THING) (THE OPPOSITE OF A PROBLEM) ...anyway. this will be a two-parter
CW: reader death(Diluc doesn't do it though dw), angst, implied kidnapping, referenced captivity, yandere themes, graverobbing
Word Count: 1.2k
Tumblr media
Adelinde hasn’t seen the young master like this in a long time.
After the death of his father, Diluc became a completely different person. Mind you, she would never go so far as to say he became a worse person, no. Just… different. The fire in him dimmed. It was like watching the light from the sun slowly die.
She still worries about him, from time to time, when she catches him limping his way up the steps to the estate, clutching a wounded side with a mask hanging haphazardly from one ear.
She knows he works himself to this point so that he doesn’t lose anyone else close to him, but there’s still the quiet fear that one night he won’t return, and the manor will bear the echoes of the ghost of him.
Some of that worry dissipated with you. The warmth in him had returned– not that he had ever grown cold since his father’s death, but with you, it was like seeing the young Diluc Ragnvindr again: whole and bright and warm.
It’s why she overlooked some of the… Peculiarities of your relationship with the master. The locked doors, the muffled sobs, the sadness in your eyes whenever you stared out the windows of the estate…
She knew better than to intervene– all the servants did. They may have quietly pitied you, and done their best to make your stay feel less like the imprisonment it felt to you, but they ultimately cared more for their master than they did you.
And Diluc seemed well and truly happy, for the first time in years, with you here. Adelinde wasn’t going to change that. Many servants were relieved to see the man they once knew in the halls once again, instead of the shadow of his guilt and regrets.
For your part, you seemed to be warming up to Diluc after a few months into your stay at the winery. You still looked out longingly into the vineyard, towards the yawning horizon, but you didn’t ignore Diluc entirely anymore– didn’t give him the same icy glares, didn’t flinch away from his touch, didn’t refuse the meals he’d bring you on cool evenings when you were too despondent to eat in the dining hall.
Adelinde felt like she could sleep at night, at last. It was easier to swallow back the guilt that came with playing blind and deaf, when you were coming to terms with it. She could feel the relief in the other maids and servants that Diluc allowed to tend to you, see the cloying shadow of remorse slipping from their postures as they guided you through the days. She could convince herself this was for the best– that you would learn to love Diluc in time, that you would be happy here.
But it didn’t last.
The death of his father was hard on him, the sun setting on a never ending day, but yours? Your death was the sun shattering against the horizon. Adelinde can’t wipe the image of him from her mind: returning with you in his arms that night, soaked from the rain, and the undiluted pain in his eyes when he looked at her.
She doesn’t know what became of the servant that had slipped you the key. She never asked.
In the days leading up to the funeral, Diluc hadn’t left his office once. When you were finally buried in the garden, Adelinde would often find him in the late hours of the night sitting by the budding daffodils they’d replanted by your grave.
Late nights spent fighting the Abyss stretched on into early mornings, with the haggard Ragnvindr returning bloodied and limping after each excursion, slipping into his office despite Adelinde’s concerns.
None of the servants are allowed into your chambers anymore.
At first, she’d assumed Diluc had intended to lock the room and leave the memory of your stay here untouched, gathering dust, but she’s seen the door cracked on a few occasions– caught glimpses of her employer carefully tidying up the space, or perched at the edge of the bed overlooking the garden where the lisianthus grows.
They say grief comes in waves, but for Diluc, it was an engulfing ocean. Sorrow settled over the estate like a heavy fog– servants skirted past the ghost of their master in the halls, hearths did little to warm the quiet mourning that sank into the floorboards, and the yawning emptiness left in your wake tore into the inconsolable wine tycoon like an unfettered rot.
The spring months felt like winter at the winery, dragging on into dreary summer storms. It was in one such storm that Adelinde returned from running errands to see Diluc waiting for her outside the estate, soaked through with a crazed look in his eyes.
“Master Diluc–”
“Where are they?” He cuts in, swatting away the umbrella she offers him. Rain pours down his face, crimson hair sticks to his forehead, and dark circles line his eyes.
She can see the mud caked in his clothing now, the shovel he’s still clinging to in one hand in a white-knuckled grip. Her eyes drift to the garden, to the uprooted daffodils and lisianthus the gardeners had carefully tended.
“Pardon?”
Diluc grabs her by the wrist, lessening the harshness of his grip when she winces– the wild look fading into something apologetic for the barest of moments– and leads her to the garden where you once lay.
The coffin they’d buried you in is empty, its fine satin interior soiled with old dirt and fresh mud.
The sound of rain is deafening in her ears. Diluc looks to her expectantly, hopefully, and she shakes her head. “I don’t know.”
His face darkens. Adelinde watches him disappear into the manor once more, then turns back to gather her things and follows. She doesn’t see him for the rest of the day.
That night, however, as Adelinde finishes the last of her duties, she stops in the hall to see her employer stepping out of his chambers, harsh shadows cast over the tired lines of his face by the sparse candlelight.
“Master Diluc.”
“Adelinde.”
There’s a bag slung over his shoulder, a familiar heavy coat draped over him. Ah. She thinks she understands. “Going on a trip?”
“Yes. I’ll need you to take care of the estate in my absence.” He doesn’t look at her as he says this, but Adelinde can hear the tremble of something other than grief in his voice for the first time in months.
“Of course.”
“Thank you. Be sure to inform the others of my absence.”
“What should I tell them?” She asks, just as he steps past her, the flame of her candle turning wild before snuffing out. In the dim moonlight, her employer’s eyes look almost haunting when he turns back to look at her.
“Business trip.”
“You might want to bring a warmer coat,” She tells him.
“I’ll be fine.” He replies, and Adelinde sighs.
Diluc heads down the stairs and steps outside, shutting the door behind him. Adelinde lingers in the hall, turning her gaze to your room, the door to it left wide open for the first time in months. The hallway is warm despite the chill clinging to the rest of the estate. ...Well. It’s good to see the young master pulled from his misery, if even for this.
As Adelinde finishes locking up for the night, she wonders what the fatui could ever want with your corpse.
Make Mama Happy - Chapter 1
Not too many updates to this chapter but will be more as it goes.
“Nichole!” My best friend Heather called. I had just walked into the restaurant where we were going to meet up and was looking around for her. I internally groaned when I finally spotted her, seeing her boyfriend, Richard, next to her. He was the guitarist from the band Motionless in White and he and I had a complicated relationship. We both loved Heather so we tolerated each other for her sake but when we were alone it was as if world war 3 had started. There was nothing in the world that could make us put aside our differences that I was pretty sure we didn’t even know what they were. I plastered a fake grin on my face and walked over to the table where she was waiting. When I approached it, she stood up and hugged me tightly before returning to her seat.
“Richard.” I nodded. He gave me his fake smile and returned the gestor. “How have you been? How’s the band?”
“They’re fine. We go on tour next month, so we are all prepping for that. Speaking of which Heather. Vinny’s having a get together tomorrow night before we buckle down and really dive into the tour preparations. Would you like to go?” He asked, turning to his girlfriend.
“Oh that would be amazing. Nichole you should come.” My best friend said, turning to me.
“No way. I don’t get involved with the band stuff.” The waitress came over and took my order before disappearing again.
“Oh come on! It would be so fun. I bet you and Vinny would get along great.” I rolled my eyes at my best friend's antics and shook my head. She had been trying to hook me and the drummer up for years.
“Doubtful. Vinny has standards.” Ricky muttered, making me scowl at him.
“Richard!” Heather swatted his chest. “Please! I want someone there that’s a girl I actually like.”
“Fine. Fine. I will come to this stupid party. But you are helping me get ready and giving me a ride. I haven’t been to his house before.” She clapped happily and started gushing about her newest project at work. She was a biologist and while she was excited about her job it may have been the one thing Richard and I could agree on as we made disgusted faces.
“Baby, we are trying to eat. Maybe you could save the work talk for later.” Rick asked, giving her an unsure glance.
“I can’t believe I am saying this but thank you Olson.” I snickered. He shot me a smirk and for a moment, I could see why Heather liked him.
“Sorry! What about you Nichole? How has your job been?”
“I work at a winery. It's not that exciting.” I shrugged.
“You were more interested in writing when we were in school. Please tell me you haven’t given up on being a writer.” I forgot that she had always been the one to encourage my passion and smiled. It had been a while since I had worked on one of my stories so I barely remembered them.
“It's been a minute since I had the time.”
“Well Rick is a writer too! You should have him read over it and help you out.” My eyes flicked to the guitarist to see him glaring at me.
“Maybe.” We finished up our food and Heather insisted that she would be with me the next day so that she could help me get ready, much to the frustration of her annoying boy toy. I flipped him off when her back was turned, determined to prove him wrong.
~~~~
“Evening ladies. Ready?” Ricky asked when I opened the door. Heather was right behind me in her outfit, a simple crop top and low waisted skinny jeans. “You look amazing baby girl.” I rolled my eyes at his sickeningly sweet tone and shoved past him, bumping my shoulder against his and knocking him a few steps backwards.
“Yeah yeah, you can fawn over her later. Lets just go. I wanna see Aj.” Aj was one of the techs that toured with them a few years back and I had met him on a few outings where he and Rick were hanging out and I was tagging along with Heather. The guitarist rolled his eyes and nodded, opening the door for his girlfriend and all of us taking off to the drummer's house.
“I think you’ll love Vinny. He is super sweet and loves everyone. I don’t think he’s capable of hating someone.” My best friend gushed. I kept my mouth shut in the back seat as I glared daggers at the driver in the front, Ricky watching me too with an equally hateful stare. Knowing the fact that Vinny was Rickys best friend I doubted that he would like me in any capacity.
“Guess we’ll just see.” I muttered quietly. The rest of the drive was silent and I couldn’t get out of the car fast enough when we pulled up to the house. I left my friend and her boyfriend in the dust, determined to find the crazy tech that I adored. Luckily Aj was lounging on the couch in the living room. “Aaj.” I exclaimed, throwing myself into his lap.
“Nichole? What are you doing here?” He laughed, wrapping his arms around me to make sure I didn’t fall off.
“Heather invited me.” I giggled. We sat there talking for a bit longer as more people trickled in. Some of them I recognized from videos of the band and others I didn’t so it was really awkward.
“That’s Logan, you’ve seen pics of him. He’s the front of house manager.” Aj tried to give me names for everyone that showed up but even he didn’t know some of them. “Lets go get a drink. I’m parched.” He stood up from the couch and led me through the congregation of people to the kitchen where he grabbed a sprite for me out of the fridge.
“Thank you, Aj.” I said, cracking it open and taking a sip.
 “Have you met Vinny yet?” My friend asked, pointing to a man in the living room with shoulder length wavey hair with red streaks in the front. He was wearing black cargo pants and a baggy dark green shirt that had no logo on it. While I normally wouldn’t go for guys like that (that looked like total frat boys) he made it look hot as fuck.
“No, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting any of the band. I typically avoid them. Well, besides Rick obviously. But I could do without knowing him.” I joked. Aj knew me long enough to know about the standing feud between me and the guitarist and he smirked.
“We could all go without knowing Rick. But seriously he’s actually pretty chill once you get to know him.” I gave him a glance of disbelief.
“I’ve known him for a few years. He’s still just as fucking annoying.” I rolled my eyes.
“Come on. Let me introduce you to the man of the house.” He took me over to the red headed angel and waved at him. “Vin! I want you to meet Nichole.” Vinny turned to me and I got drawn into his gorgeous hazel eyes.
“Nichole! Hi. Who did you come with?” He asked, holding out his hand. I shook it and was bemused by his strong grip. Next to him was a tall, well dressed, curly haired man who looked like he had a mop on the top of his head.
“I came with Heather.” I nodded over to my friend who was currently wrapped in her boyfriend's arms.
“Oh.” He said that one syllable so sharply and I froze. “You’re that Nichole. Rick told me about you.” His voice was so cold compared to the soft friendly one he had a few minutes ago.
“Chole, what does he mean?” Aj asked, looking between the two of us. The entire room seemed to quiet down and everyone's eyes focused on us.
“I think I should go.” I whispered.
“Yeah, you probably should. We don’t like your type around here?” Vinny growled.
“My type?” What the hell had Ricky said about me?
“You know, the type to flirt with their supposed best friend's boyfriend behind their back?” My eyes widened in horror and I rounded on Richard where he was standing with Heather. She looked confused, hurt, and angry.
“Heather- I never-“
“Don't.” She mumbled. “I don't know what’s going on right now but you should probably leave.” Aj grabbed my arm and held me for a moment.
“Heather, you know she wouldn't do that.” He tried defending me.
“I don't know what to think! Why the hell would Ricky lie to Vinny of all people?” She sputtered. “Just leave. I’ll call you later.” I calmly set my can down on the nearby table and turned to Aj.
“Just let it go. I don't want to put up with this shit right now.” I pushed past everyone to exit the house only turning back once to look at Rick. “Fuck you, Richard Olson.” I spit, before finally leaving. Once outside I let my emotions explode and found myself gasping for air as I made my way to the main street to call an uber. I just needed to get away from that house.
A few texts came through from Aj but I ignored them as I collapsed onto my couch. I curled under a blanket and buried my face into the pillow. I never thought Heather would trust her boyfriend over me like that and it hurt like a knife through the gut.

home
Summary: What is home, but a person to return to?
Warnings: [none]
Word Count: 1.0k+
Tumblr media
What is home?
Most would define ‘home’ as a residence; a place to look forward to returning to after a long day of work, a place to live with family or loved ones. A place where memories are created and etch themselves into every wall and floorboard, becoming ghosts that haunt when you visit.
Home… a place to live with family or loved ones…
Kaeya once had that.
Kaeya once had two homes.
The first, he doesn’t remember much of; the nation his origins are rooted in was razed to the ground by Celestia and its Archons (perhaps he never really had a home in the first place). And then he was abandoned by the remnants of it—his father—at the place that would become his second home: the Dawn Winery. But even that would be razed to the ground too. All the years he had spent growing up there, growing to love the land he had been left in to spy on, he would see it all burn to ashes the night his adoptive father died—as he clashed blades with his brother and earned his Vision during that stormy night.
He would be left to wander with no place to call home after that night.
Even after he managed to purchase a place for himself, it still wasn’t home, he wouldn’t call it home. There was no joy in returning to it. Not when he was the only soul living in it, and he was a soul haunted with the burden of secrets and a decision he didn’t want to make.
But home doesn’t have to be a place one returns to.
Maybe home can be a person.
✦  ✦  ✦
The Angel’s Share tavern was slightly abuzz with the murmur of patrons drinking and chatting, and you knew it would not be long before it becomes a raucous cacophony when more of the night crowd comes in. You would savour the current peace while it lasted. Swirling the drink you had in your hand, you took a long sip from it as you surveyed the ground floor from your table on the second floor, before setting your drink down on the table with a gentle clink, tasting the flavours of the drink on your tongue.
The door to the tavern opened and a smile immediately showed itself on your face at the sight of familiar blue hair and an elaborate outfit. You watched as he approached the bar to bother the red-haired bartender to order his drink, turning your gaze away back to your own one when the bartender moved to make the newcomer’s drink. You listened as the newcomer’s familiar voice thanked the bartender for his drink before making his way up to the second floor where you were located, the only one on the floor.
“Guess who?” the smooth, light airy voice you were so accustomed to hearing spoke with a lilt by your ear, a black gloved hand placing itself over your eyes as the owner slid into the seat to sit beside you.
“I wonder who it can be,” you playfully hummed back in reply. “The Cavalry Captain, perhaps?”
“And what is the Cavalry Captain’s name?” the voice asked.
You hummed in thought for a moment before replying in a teasing manner, “Karts?”
“Oh come on, that’s not even close to my name!”
Your smile grew wider and an amused chuckle left you at the Cavalry Captain’s complaint of your answer. “I know, I know.”
“Well then if you know, what is my name then?”
Another hum of thought from you. “Keys?” “I cannot believe you.”
This time, laughter spilled from you. “You’re so fun to tease, Kaeya.”
“I’ll make you regret those words soon,” Kaeya promised, his tone playful yet indeed full of promise that he will make you regret teasing him. He lifted his hand from your eyes, granting you sight again to allow you to watch him take a sip from his drink—Death After Noon, his favourite.
“So, how was your day?” you asked as you mirrored the action, keeping your gaze fixed on the elaborately dressed man, even as you placed your drink back down on the table.
“Oh, the usual,” Kaeya replied. “Paperwork, patrols… nothing entertaining happened today.”
“Poor you, no free entertainment at work,” you cooed in faux sympathy, raising a hand to pat his head gently. Kaeya leaned into the touch, relishing the way it sent shocks of thin electricity through his veins. He scooted closer to you, placing his drink down on the table before wrapping his arms around you and laying his head on top of yours with a soft sigh.
“I missed you,” he whispered, just loud enough for you to hear over the murmur of the tavern that had gotten just a bit louder with the arrival of a few more people. “Couldn’t stop thinking about seeing you after work.”
You felt warmth swell in your heart at Kaeya’s words, a soft smile spreading on your lips. “I missed you too.”
Kaeya tightened his hold on you just a bit. “Every time I have to leave you, I can’t stop thinking about how much I’d rather stay in your company, that I wish I could. I always look forward to coming back to you after every work day. You make me feel… safe, wanted.”
You listened intently as Kaeya whispered his affections to you, not moving a single muscle, afraid that if you do, he’ll pull away and hide behind smiles and teasing remarks that could not express the true depth of his feelings for you.
“You feel like home.”
It’s so soft, so quiet you could barely catch it, his whispered words. You leaned into him, closing your eyes as you felt the warmth within you swell even more, feeling your insides go soft as you wrapped your arms around him in return, pulling him even closer to you.
“I’m glad I feel like home to you,” you whispered back. “And I hope I will always feel like home, be home, to you.”
You pulled back a little so you could place a gentle kiss on his lips.
Kaeya closed his eye, relishing, drowning in the soft affections you were giving to him, a man who didn’t deserve it all.
Home was wherever you were.
For what is home, but a person to return to?

Diluc & Keaya pining for the same person headcanons. gn!reader
By anonymous request. I'm still new to tumblr html so I... accidentally deleted the ask with the whole post and it had to be redone. Anyways!
The brothers don't talk much - so they wouldn't know they are attracted, or dare they say, care for, the same person, at first
Kaeya would shamelessly flirt with you by the library, his hand on the wall, beside your face. He'd ask you about your travels, making sure you notice his wandering eyes.
Diluc would show his fighting skills, hoping that sharing one of his hobbies (being Mondstadt's night hero was a hobby) would make you feel closer to him
As time passes, Kaeya becomes a little less sure of himself, barely daring to touch you, hesitating. This hesitation - he knew - was a symptom of the heated feeling growing in his chest.
Diluc becomes obsessed with the idea of you in his arms, just like this one time, when you were very tired and fell asleep on his shoulder, when he finished cleaning the bar after a busy night. Diluc's face grew hot and then he knew.
Diluc tries to gain your affections by accompanying you home late at night, to make sure you return safely. He walks close to you, on alert, ready to strike in any given moment.
It happens quite often, and Kaeya, after his shift, notices it soon enough.
The Cavalry Captain memorizes some patterns and bumps into you as you walk home from yet another adventure. He has a theory, it is feeble and a little far-fetched, because he knows his brother enough. And yet, curiosity gets the best of him.
Kaeya invites you to walk around Mondstadt in the evening, his arm around your shoulders in a friendly manner. His face betrays him, though. His expression is soft, eyes half-closed, as he glances at you every once in a while, while talking about today's nice weather.
You pass by Angel's Share and he invites you for a drink, you eagerly accept, wanting to unwind a bit.
Diluc usually is at the winery, but some days, like this one, he works as a bartender/ manager there. When he notices Kaeya enter he rolls his eyes, but then he sees you, and his heart skips a beat. He sees you laugh at Kaeya's joke... and he hates it.
Kaeya occasionally throws glances at his brother, aware of the situation. And when he approaches and whispers something in your ear, Diluc slams his fist unto the counter.
Diluc comes to your table and puts his hand on your shoulder, squeezing it slightly. You look up to see his eyes full of strange flame; he leans in and murmurs: 'I have a new trick to show you, I'll see you after the closing hours'
Kaeya didn't hear what he said, but he knows it was meant to provoke.
The next days will be filled with them fighting for your affection, and maybe, just maybe, they'll have a duel, outside, far from everyone's inquisitive gaze.

   Most people knew that Starsnatch had one of the best views. It frequently had a couple or two there every night. It could be reasoned that even more people would visit on such a holiday. Being slightly clueless and wanting to avoid a crowd made Albedo look for alternatives. It had roughly the same qualities, so Cape Oath became the next obvious choice to him.
   While it was definitely more of trek, it ended up meaning more to the both of you. Cape Oath had the perfect view inward to Mond. It held the entirety of your lives together on the horizon. Dragonspine was put into a new perspective, one that Albedo captured on canvas for the occasion. There were also supplies for you as well. He enjoyed doing something together no matter your skill, style, or subject that you decided on.
   You ended the night under a sky free from constant clouds and snow of Dragonspine or the lights of the city. If you wanted, Albedo would point out constellations and the origins of the names. For now, he was just a nerd that wanted to share his passion with you. The responsibilities you both had could return with the sun.
Diluc: Beachside lunch and he has a table prepared by the time you get there.
   Unfortunately for you both, Diluc would be required to work at the tavern as celebrations and wine went hand to hand in Mond. Luckily, most of the work would be done after noon (and well into the night) so he had the first half of the day to spend with you. Knowing this in advance, he arranged for a charcuterie board type lunch on the beaches near the south of the winery. You could plan whatever you wanted from the time you both woke up until lunch. Diluc just wanted to do this one moment right before he had to leave.
   The hours passed quickly. When it came time to walk down the road, any people you passed didn’t dare disturb either of you. The picturesque sight of two lovers on a walk was enough to ward them away. That and the soft gaze Diluc had focused on you was very rare to see in public. He still caught the sight of two of his workers setting up the food so he quickly pulled you in for a hug before you noticed. He bought some time by whispering in your ear what he had planned for you both when he got home late at night.
 Ganyu: after a lot of convincing, a picnic just outside of the harbor.
   Leading up to a festival always meant an increased workload for the entire Qixing. Even though there wasn’t an official celebration, Ganyu still managed to get more work. So you did as you always did at these times, you trapped her with cuddles at regular sleeping intervals. She understood why you were so concerned about her overworking herself even if she didn’t need quite as much sleep as you. She was still tempted away with your warmth.
  When you proposed having a picnic just outside the boundaries of the harbor, she automatically protested. However, you already pulled out all the stops with offering her favorite food, a nice outdoor nap, and some of her urgent work divided into a manageable workload for her assistants. She found herself out of an argument before she could even start, and her heart melted at the thoughtfulness of your planning. Instead of putting up a fight, she decided to start repaying your kindness by simply accepting it (and planning something of her own latter on but shh).
Jean: A night in pampering each other. Bath time. Actually cooking together.
   The knights didn’t have much of a role in the Valentine’s celebrations besides the daily affiairs and a small increase in patrols. Nothing that needed Jean’s direct attention so she thought she would take the opportunity. While she still let people know where to find her, she just wanted to spend the night with you without you having to be forced to take breaks. She bought some fresh ingredients and indulged in some soaps and other supplies from a few stalls. She was definitely home earlier then you would have expected so you weren’t there currently. That only gave her time to set up candles lining the counters in the kitchen and bathroom.
It’s not long before you returned a few small gifts and some supplies. It was a pleasant surprise to be greeted instead of the greeter. Once you’d both settled down with gifts and putting things away, it was time to cook. Whether it was synchronized or complete chaos, it was still enjoyable because you were together. Now all that was left was to get soaked.
Venti: Commissions the Traveler to make a special dinner for you both and sets up a little picnic for you both on one of the windmills to overlook the city. No table tho cause hes not fancy like Diluc.
If there was one thing Venti was good at, it was presentation. He spent most of the day sneaking up decorations to one of the windmills. He collected flower garlands, jars of fireflies, and he even bribed a few anemo crystalflies. All he could think about is your surprised face and gleaming eyes. As sunset drew closer, he started worrying if the Traveler had the food ready yet.
5 minutes
10…
Just in time, the Traveler delivered to the windmill just as you both arrived. Paimon quickly flew off to get her own food since she wasn’t allowed to steal any from you delivery. You got to exchange a few words before the Traveler rushed after Paimon. Venti quickly got your attention again by stepping closer to you and summoning wind underneath you both. You still couldn’t help grabbing onto him no matter how many times he does it. But he just flashes you a reassuring smile and placed you both on the landing gently.
Now you watched over the city, eating together and side by side. The dusk bled into the lights, wine, and twirling stars of the night while the both of you relaxed.
